The Fugitive (2020–…): Season 1, Episode 8 - Hunted Becomes the Hunter - full transcript

After yet another bombing, Pritti and the LAPD decide to join forces. But Mike has insider info to find the real bomber on his own.

- Hello.

- Mr. Spitaro, this is Mike Ferro.

The man that called my daughter...

he's very dangerous.

Listen to me.

- Hello. Hello.

Mr. Ferro.

Call 911!

- Michelangelo, what did you do?

- What's he doing?

- He's getting the serial number
of that surveillance camera

so they can get video of the courthouse.

You know what?
That might be a waste of time.

It might be the wrong camera angle.

Hey, come with me. Come with me.

Hey, come on. Come on.

Hey. This your place?

- You know it. What can I get you?

- The film from your hidden camera
in the front window.

- What are you, a cop?

- No. I'm a reporter.

I observe things,
and I write about them.

You know what I observe about your store?

- No.

- I see a head shop that's struggling.

Ever since California
legalized marijuana,

dispensaries are selling
all the weed needs you carry,

so no one comes here

when they can buy both their herb
and their pipes in one place.

So you had to adjust,

start selling something
that the dispensaries don't,

like molly.

- How do you know that?

- 'Cause I bought molly from you
two weeks ago.

All of your drugs
are paid for in cash,

so you need security,

but you don't want big cameras
outside your shop

'cause it'll scare away your clientele,

so you hid one in one of the bongs
in your front window display.

You download the footage
of the explosion on my phone,

I don't run a story about how legal weed
spurred your illegal business.

- I'll go get my backpack.

- This is extortion, Pritti.
What are you thinking?

- I'm thinking I'm getting
first fucking chair violin.

THE FUGITIVE

- What the fuck.

LAPD. Step aside.

What the hell are all these people
doing here?

I want a perimeter set up,
20 block radius.

No one gets behind these barricades
unless they're LAPD.

What do you got?
- It's a bigger blast than before.

We found this over there.
It's a servomotor.

- Ah, son of a bitch.

- Boss!
- Pritti!

Yo, Pritti. - Oh, shit.

Captain Bryce.
- You have FUBAR'd my investigation,

young lady.
- Young lady? Sexist much?

- Oh, please,
I've got cell phones older than you.

Do you know that your little scoop
gave my fugitive a head start?

Do you know that you risked the lives
of everybody in this city?

- Do you know that I have footage
of Mike Ferro outside the courthouse

right when the bomb went off?

- Let me see it.

- Promise you'll feed me any leads.

- I promise I'll make some shit up
right here right now

and land your ass in County
for the weekend.

You'll be fine, but House Party here
might have a rough time of it.

- Maybe you should let him see it.

- Holy shit.

- Stamell, download the footage.

You've been with me
since you were a pup,

six years' hard work, good work.

You question Ferro's guilt again to me
one more time,

I swear on my wife's grave
I will end your career,

and that goes
for Boy Wonder, too.

Notice how I didn't yell that time?
Didn't raise my voice?

- Copy, boss.

- Music to my ears.

- My phone?

Fucking kidding me?

All right, let's go. Let's go.

- Hey! Over here!

- Get the mayor's office
to tap into the slush fund.

Hit up crime stoppers...

500,000 men,
and we get the Feds to match it.

A million dollars, that should put
some heat under Ferro's ass.

- 911 got a call
from Pearl's elementary school.

Principal says Mike Ferro called him

claiming some man who called Pearl
earlier today was dangerous.

- What man?
- That was all he said.

- Ferro's cute,
throwing out these red herrings.

Stamell, what's the status
on the burner rundown?

- I... uh, we came right here
after we heard about the bombing,

so I had...
- So you didn't do what I asked you to do.

Mike Ferro is running around Los Angeles
making more calls than a goddamn referee,

and you're standing here
with your thumb up your ass.

Run down those phones, young man.
- Copy, boss.

- I'm just trying to protect...
- What now?

- I understand, but...
- I got people that I got to answer to.

- What's going on?
- That guy's trying to take our evidence.

- Captain Bryce, I'm merely bringing
the servomotor back to FBI Forensics.

- LAPD's got forensics.

We got a lab, testers, beakers,
scientists, all that shit.

More importantly, we've got jurisdiction.

- This is a federal terrorist
investigation.

- In my city!
- I don't have time for this.

- Boss!
- Make time!

- What are you doing?
- You're crazy!

- Yep.

- You want it? Here you go.

That's your retirement package
right there.

I'm getting you gone, asshole.

- Thanks.

- All right.

Come on, be there.

- Two bombings, one day.

- Mike's a busy boy.

He have any hobbies,

or he just puts all his energy
into blowing shit up?

- No, it has to be
Photoshopped or something.

- No, it's real, honey,

real as the life sentence
you're gonna get,

real as the fact you won't ever
get to see Pearl graduate

or get married or have kids.

- Your lawyer? C. Bravo.

- Oh, you mean Carlos Bravo,
the famous bullfighter.

- Yes. Th-That's my lawyer.
What does it say?

- "Heard about your arrest.
We need to speak confidentially.

I will call shortly. C. Bravo, esquire."

- Can I have a moment?

Let me rephrase that.

Give me a moment.

I have been convicted of nothing.

I have the right to counsel.

Attorney-client privilege is clear.

You need to leave,

and whatever recording device
you have in here needs to be shut off,

or your entire case
against my husband and I

will go down the shitter.

That's your cue.

- Turn the recorder off.

- Mike, what the hell is going on?

- Allison, honey, we don't have time
for questions right now.

I'm innocent. All right?
But I need your help.

- I need you to call the Laborers Union
Local 76 in Los Angeles

and tell them you're from
the Transit Authority Logistics

and you're sending someone down there.

Okay? I need you to look up their number
and do it right now.

- Mike, they have a video of you
at the court bombing.

- Sweetheart, I need you
to keep it together right now.

Okay? I've been framed.
Someone's messing with me.

I've met him.

He's gonna hit another target by 6:00.

- Mike, what are you gonna do?

- I'm gonna hunt
the son of a bitch down.
