All right, where are you?

George, if your hayfevers that bad,

why don't you get your
father to invent something?

He tried, but it didn't
work, made it worse.

'We gm a cure ' George'.!

Whats that?

Stop breathing!

Oh Tinker! Put that back!

That does it. Mischief, you get out of
here, and take youe peanuts with you!

...and so you see Professor
Hayling, if you examine these notes

it seems that the gravitational pull when
the moon is in conjunction with Jupiter...

Excuse me, please. Ive got to
quiten them down, sorry about this...

What is going on?

Mischief? Come out of there!

Oh stop! Those are for grown ups!

Just one then, no more!

Now what is going on in here?

How many more times do I have to
ask you not to make so much noise?

Now for once and all, keep quiet!

So you think thats funny, do
you? Well, this is the last straw.

You, you and you are
going home tomorrow.

But thatll mean no more Famous Five!

Dear George, there are people who
have very important things to do.

I havent got time to play
your silly little games.

My decision is final and that is that!

Oh no.

Well in that case lets go
and stay in my lighthouse.

Your what?

My lighthouse.

Who are you trying to kid? People of your
age don't go round owning lighthouses.

I do.

I don't believe him.

Theres one way to find out.

Tinker! Come back!

Tinker!

Come back!

Hey!

Sorry!

Kids!

Hey, look out!

Rushing about...

Wait for me!

Youre showing off, arent you?

No, my father gave it to me.

When?

When he finished his work.

What work?

Something to do with the tides. Not
too sure. Of course he couldnt sell it.

'Course not.

If you don't believe
me, come and ask him.

All right, we will.

Dont you think weve
had enough disturbances...

Excuse me, Sir, may I see my father?

What is it, Tinker?

Not sneaking or anything, but they
wont believe that Ive got a lighthouse

and that Im showing off.

Do they indeed! Who?

Me, sir.

Why?

Well, people of Tinkers age don't
usually go round owning lighthouses.

Really. But there are exceptions, hm?

Yes, sir.

Precisely. Well let me tell you, young
man, that Tinker here does own a lighthouse.

I gave it to him. You all satisfied now?

Yes, sir.

Excuse me, Sir, do you think we could
go and stay at it? Tinker did invite us.

Yes, yes, of course you may, if sleeping
bags and lilos are your cup of tea.

Yes, certainly.

Its not the Ritz, but if you think
youre tough enough, by all means.

All right, Quentin?

Well, if there were any danger you
wouldnt have agreed to the idea, would you?

Adventure and experience. Yes, the
lighthouse is yours. Tinker here has a key.

Great.
- Thank you, Sir.

All right, offyou go.

One more thing. Pack quietly!

Here we are, Demons Rocks.

Wheres your lighthouse?

Cant see it from here, have
to take a boat to the point.

Master Hayling! Ahoy there!

Hello!

Whos that?

Its old Jeremiah Boogle, my
friend. Come on, come and meet him.

Nice to see you, younun, and Mischief.

Hello Mr. Boogie.

And who are you four?

Julian, Anne, Dick and George.

And Timmy!

Were staying in Tinkers lighthouse.

Ah, Ive stayed there
many a stormy night!

I remember when that
lighthouse was a-working...

Have you found the Wreckers
gold yet, Mr. Boogle?

Ah now, don't you jibe
about that, young un.

There was many a dark deed
done for that gold in the past

and many anotherll be done
for it yet, III warrant.

And theres those I
could name asd do em.

Thats the Hayling kid!

Yes, interfering brat.

Thats all we need. Who are the others?

I dunno. Wed better keep
a close eye on them all.

But this Wreckers Gold,
is it Pirate Treasure?

Do tell us about it, Mr. Boogie.

Soon enough, Missy, soon enough. You
get settled into that lighthouse first.

Hello, my old lighthouse.

Come on.

Therell be lots of steps.

The doors stuck.

Hey, let me do that.

Gosh!

Fantastic. Its massive.

Let me show you the rest of it.

This is the living
quarters, hey, Mischief?

Gosh.

What happens further up?

The light room, come on.

Poor old Timmy doesn't
like all these stairs.

See what I mean about the view?

Yes, and those cliffs over there.
Thats where the Wreckers Caves are.

What are these Wreckers
we keep hearing about?

Mr. Booglell tell you.

Shall we go back to see him now? These
Wreckers are intriguing, arent they?

Lets go back, shall we?

All right then.

Hey! Whos got the key?
- Not me.

We left it in the keyhole, we cant have
lost it. Someone must have stolen it.

Somebodys obviously been here while
weve been exploring the lighthouse

and stolen the key.

Whoever it is, is safely
round the point, by now.

Why would anyone want to steal
the key to a deserted lighthouse?

Even if we knew, it wouldnt
bring it back, would it?

Wed better tell the police about
this, and leave Timmy on guard.

Oh why? Poor old Timmy.

That key didn't just
walk off on its own.

Itd be the best not
to take any chances.

Makes sense, I suppose.

Come on, Tim!
- Well get the boat ready.

Good dog.

Come her, come her. Come here.

Right, sit down, now, on guard!

You wont anyone come in, no, nobody,
all right? Theres a good boy, yes!

All right, Timmy, stay on guard.

Good boy!

Should we tell Mr. Boogle about the key?

No, I don't think so, might
confuse things. Just the police.

Look, heres our young
treasure hunter back again.

Yeah, and his little friends.
Turning Demons Rocks into a nursery.

Nanny let you out to play then, did she?

Who are you?

Oh, cocky little fellow. Ebenezer
and Jacob Loomer at your service, Sir.

You want to do us service?
Go and talk to someone else.

Youll get more than talk if we have any
more of your lip. Scheeky little beggars.

Im worried, Ebby. He
must have found something,

or whys he come back
at this time of year?

Well, you got the key, didn't you?

Yeah.

Well then, weve got the whip
hand. Got em where we want em.

Mr. Boogie!

Were back, Mr. Boogie.

All ship shape?

Well, almost.

Please, Mr. Boogle, will you
tell us about the Wreckers gold?

Wrecker, eh? Young un heres
been getting you all fired up

about Wreckers gold,
has he? Sit down...

Demons Rocks, they call this village.

On a calm day like this the coast
seems kind enough. But out there,

just below the surface, there are rocks
that would tear the life out of any boat,

that strays onto em. Thats
why they built the lighthouse,

to warn mariners of the terrible
dangers. Now many years ago,

there lived in Demons Rocks an
evil man by the name of One-Ear Bill.

As cold hearted a devil as ever was. Now
One-Ear Bill and his son were Wreckers.

Theyd light false lights for the
ships, to guide them onto the rocks.

Terrible! And nobody caught them?

Oh, they tried, but the strange part
was, that every time they thought

theyd caught him out there
on the rocks, he disappeared!

Folks said he was the Demon
of Demons Rocks himself!

They never caught him red-handed, and
he died without telling his secret.

So no one knows what
or how much he stole!

Afew days before he died, a ship
went down out there on the rocks.

All its cargo was recovered except for
one treasure chest full of gold coins.

And after he died, one of
those coins was found on him.

But nobody knows where the rest is?

Oh, legend says that its
all hidden in the caves!

Lets go and explore them. You never
know, with a new eye, we might find a clue!

Come with us, Mr. Boogle, please,
and tell us where to look.

Youve left it a bit late, mdear,
tides on the turn, comes rushing in.

But if we hurry, Mr. Boogie...

I can see theres no holding you. But
if we find any treasure, Ill eat my hat!

Mind you, I don't expect to be
popular showing you round the caves.

Why not?

I can tell you why. Ebenezer and Jacob make
a living showing people round the caves.

Couple of black-hearted
devils those two.

The blood of One-Ear Bill
runs true in their veins!

What?

You mean they're descended
from the Wreckers?

One-Ear Bill was their
great great grandfather!

And they think that the gold he
stole rightfully belongs to them.

If it exists.

Either way, they never stop looking
for it, or dreaming or finding it!

Here we are, young uns. Now listen,
weve only got a few minutes,

otherwise well be cut off. Anyway,
youll see the caverns in half that time.

Stay close.

What you doing in my
caves, Jeremiah Boogie?

Your caves, Ebenezer?
Theyre everyones.

You know I shows people round em!

Tourists, Ebenezer.
Ive brought friends.

Watch your step, Jeremiah Boogie.
Just you watch it, for your own good!

Ah, these wondrous caves, they stretch
in all directions, to right, to left,

north, south, tis like a honeycomb.

I don't want any of
you to go wandering off.

Ive lost Mischief! He
slipped out of my arm!

Mischief! Where are you, Mischief?

Mischief! Mischief!

Tinker, come back!
- Quick, come back!

Tinker!

Come back!

Tinker!

Mischief!

Tinker!
- Come back!

Tinker, Tinker, son, we gotta
go back, the tides on the turn.

There he is!

Come on, come on, Mischief!

Gently does it, young un.
- Tinker!

Come on, come on.

Look, Mr. Boogie, look
what Mischiefs found!

Golden souvereign.

That was Ebenezer!

Come on, young uns, its time we
were getting out of here, come on.

A golden guinea, minted in
the reign of George lVth,

and worth a pretty penny nowadays.

Reckon Wreckers gold
isnt a fairy tale.

But we still havent
found it, Mr. Boogie.

That might just be an odd coin
dropped years ago in the caves.

Or washed in by the tide.

And we don't know
where Mischief found it.

Youll show us though,
wont you Mischief?

Ah, the cavell be flooded
until the next low tide.

Your huntll have to wait.

Reckon youd better think about
getting back to the lighthouse.

Yes, wed better be getting
back. Thanks for the tea anyway.

Yes, it was smashing.

Ah, your welcome, never had such an
exciting day in my... Oh, your guinea.

Oh, thank you.

Or is it Mischiefs?

I don't think he wants it.

Well, Id better go and tell the police
about that key, okay? See you later.

Well get some more
supplies, just in case.

In case of what?

Anything, you never know.

Yeah, okay. Bye!

III tell ee, Jacob, I
saw it with my own eyes.

It was a gold coin, bright as new.

It be dark in the caves, Ebby.

Aye, and that coin shone
out as only gold can!

I coulnt believe my eyes
when I saw it, but there it was,

in that young Hayling kids hand as
clear as anything, gold beyond any doubt.

The Wreckers Hoard!

I moved in to get a better look, and then
they saw me, and so I decided to get out.

Anyway, the tide was coming in too
fast. But its down there all right,

just like we always knew.

Ah, but where?

No telling where that monkey
disappeared to, to pick up that coin.

Theyll find it before us, Ebby, we got
to do something or theyll find the gold!

Keep your voice down, Jacob!
Dyou want everyone to know?

What are we going to do?

Do? Look, only the monkey knows
where it found that coin, right?

So we steal the monkey, yeah!

No.
- No?

Too risky, Jacob, no point.
But I was just thinking,

wouldnt it be a shame if that
little monkey had a nasty accident...

ltd spoil their holiday.

So much so theyd go straight
back home. Besides which,

the dear little monkey could
never guide them to the gold.

Officer!

Excuse me.

Aye? What can I do for you?

Id like to report a theft.

Oh aye?

Were staying in the old lighthouse
over there and someones stolen our key.

Thats odd, youre quiet sure?

Positive, we searched everywhere.

We left our dog on
guard while we came here.

Thats wise. If I might
just have your name.

Kirrin, Julian Kirrin.

Friend of young Tinkers, eh?

Yes, hes with us.

Right, well, III make some inquiries.

Thanks. Bye.

Have we got any pocket
money left after this?

Yes, just enough I hope.

All right, start casting off.

All right, pack out the life jacket.

Its no good, Ebby. Well never get
near that monkey, he never lets go of it.

Those kids are an infernal nuisance.

How we going to take care of em, Ebby?

Ah, you know the saying, Jacob,
theres more than one way to skin a cat.

I don't see why the same think
shouldn't apply to a monkey.

Im just going to get Timmy, okay?

Timmy!

Timmy!

Hello Timmy! Come here, good
dog! Stayed here all the time.

Come on, III take you
for a walk. Yeah, come on!

Come on, Tim.

Were just coming up with the groceries.

Oh wait. Let me get passed.
Give the dog a chance,

hes been in the lighthouse
all this time. Timmy, come on.

I wonder what thisd
be like in real gale?

Probably sway about a
bit like the Eiffel Tower.

What do you mean?

Well, right at the top, in a strongish
wind, they say it sways several feet.

Hope this doesn't. cos if
it done, III fell sea sick!

Course it wont, Dick!

Now its raining, theyll
all be safely inside.

III be soaked, Ebby.

Stop whining, Jacob! This
could make us rich you know.

And wet!And theres a storm
acoming up, III capsize!

Get off with you, that
wont be for a while yet!

Im going back to the tavern.
Mind you don't bungle it.

Its always me who has
the dirty work to do,

while you sit in a nice warm room.
