The Famous Five (1978–1979): Season 1, Episode 8 - Five Go Off to Camp: Episode Two - full transcript

This is my stepfather, Mr.
Andrews. These are the Kirrins.

Hello.
- Hi.

Have you been playing around
by that deserted railway yard?

If you have, listen to
me. Its a bad place.

Dont any of you ever
go down there again.

Spook-trains, I tell ee. Trains
that come out of that tunnel at night,

and drive back in, by
themselves, nobody driving em,

and you never know when
they're going to come.

Where is it?

Here it comes!

Where have you been? The spook-train
went back into the tunnel ages ago!

What?

The train must have gone somewhere.

I suppose the entrance to the second
fork the porter told us about really

is blocked up? If it isnt, then
the train could go down there!

Yes, thats the only solution!

Unless the trains a spook one.

Julian! George has let the string out

Poor old George. Dont you think
its about time she caught something!

What do you mean?
- Get in.

The boys must be going to look
for the train. Come on, Timmy!

Theyre asleep!

Come on, Timmy!

Well still have to go and
explore the tunnel again.

Well, we cant do it now.
We can do it in the morning.

Right. See you then.

Night.
- Night.

Come on, Timmy! Tomorrow were going
to go down to that tunnel ourselves!

And were going to show them
that Im as good as any boy!

Good morning! Good morning! Good morning!
What a lovely day for bug hunting!

But wheres George and Timmy?

George has gone off by herself.

She went out before we were up.

Jocks late again. He must have
overslept. Lets go over to the farm...

Shut up, Dick!

...and get him so that
we can go exploring.

Whats all this?

We thought wed do some
exploring on the moor.

Oh well, that sounds interesting.
I think III come with you.

III just get my things.

No.

I don't think youd enjoy it, Sir.

No.

Oh, yes, well, perhaps on second
thoughts: I don't think I will come.

Well, offyou go then. Alright,
III attend to all that.

Thank you, Sir! See you in time for tea!

Come on, Anne!

Thank you.

Come on, Timmy! Dont you want to
solve the mystery of this tunnel?

Nothing.

Lets take a look at the other end.

I don't mind going exploring
so much during the day.

Oh, thats alright, Anne.

Mr. Andrews certainly
has plenty of workers

and lorries.

I wouldnt have thought there was enough
for them to do on a farm this size.

Come on, Peters, give us a hand.

I wonder what this is?

Hey, Timmy, come here! I
think Ive found something!

It's one of those old railway shaft.

Come on, Tim. Its just
like digging for rabbits!

Timmy! Where are you?

Timmy?

Dont worry, Timmy! III get you out!

What youre doing?

Thats farm produce.

Sorry, weve come for Jock.

Hello!

Here he is.

III be a while yet.

Im glad to see youre staying
away from that deserted railway yard

like I told you.

It can be very dangerous.

Timmy! Timmy!

Timmy!

The spook-train.

Dont you forget what I told you, Jock.

Yes, Father.

Wheres George?

Oh, shes gone off with Timmy somewhere.

She gets very moody when
she doesn't get her own way.

Timmy?

Oh Timmy!

How are we going to get you out of here?

Well just have to go back that way.

Timmy!

Theres no one in it!

Come on, Timmy!

Now youre sure you don't mind?

Good. Because this time were jolly well
going to walk right through that tunnel

and see just where
that spook train goes!

Oh! You lot clear out!
Dont you come down here!

We wont!

Were going into the tunnel!

Come on, you lot, heres the fork.

This one really is bricked up.

Theres no doubt about that.

Oh well, that only leaves
the other fork to explore!

No trains been out of
this tunnel for years.

The wheels would haven
chopped the weeds to bits.

What are we going do now?

Just have to go back, thats all, and
examine every bit of it in detail.

Oh no, once is enough!

See you at the other
end! III go this way.

Bye .

See you at the other end.

Bye .

This is

Itll take at least 48 hours to get out!

Well I called you as soon as I saw them.

Wed better start.

Ready?

After you!

I wonder what well find.

I don't know.

Oh no!

Oh, well now

How did you get out of that tunnel?

Didnt Mr. Andrews catch you?

Come here.

Help! Help!

I don't understand it!

What?

The lines behind us are all dull and
rusty. But here they're quite bright.

Looks as if theyve
been used more often.

Exactly. But how could they
use one half and not the other.

Peters!

Dad!

Mr. Andrews! Its us.
Jock, Julian and Dick.

Jock, I warned you
not to come down here.

We were planning to wrap up
business in this area soon away;

but this has brought things to a head.

But why?

Take them away!

You cant leave us here.

Therell be search parties out for us
all over! Theyll be sure to find us!

Come on.

Theyve tied my feet so tightly,
the ropes cutting into my ankles.

Whats going to happen now?

I can hear something!

Its a dog, whining.

Timmy! Look, Dick, it's Timmy!

Wheres George then?

Here!

George!

Wheres Anne?

Mr. Luffy, Mr. Luffy!

Where are we?

You know where that second
tunnels bricked up, don't you?

Yes!

Well, theres a way in through the wall,
a whole bit opens in an Open Sesame

sort of way!

Look, see that? Thats
inside of the brick wall.

Cor, they didn't half tie you up well.

There are two walls
across the second folk

with a big space in between.

And thats where we and the
spook-train are hiding. Clever, eh?

WOW

This must be some kind of warehouse!

All stolen III bet. This must
be the holding place for the goods

until the heat wears off.

They must use the lorries
from my stepfathers farm,

bring the stuff down to the railway yard
at night; then load it all on the train.

That way they can hide everything
at once and no ones the wiser!

Here! I wonder if this has anything
to do with opening of the wall?

Open Sesame!

Quick, the other way!

This way, quickly. Get in, get in!

Come on, get in, Timmy!

Where is everybody?

Mrs. Andrew

But all the men have gone!

So have all the lorries.

Find them!

Mrs. Andrews!

Oh dear, I think she must be out.

Well, I hope she doesn't mind but we
must call the police and to your uncle.

Harry!

Yeah!

Watch out for them kids!

Yes, alright!

What are we going to do?

We can go the way I came down,
where poor old Timmy felt through.

Right!

What about Timmy?

Hell have to find his own way
back. Hes intelligent enough.

Im not going without Timmy!
- Yes, you are!

No!
_ Up You get!

No!
' Get up!

No!
' Get up!

Whats up?

It must have locked itself after I
climbed through. I cant shift it!

Well, they cant have
disappeared into thin air!

Weve searched both tunnels.

Well search them again! Come on!

Look, over there!

O dear! Mr. Luffy, the police
are going the wrong way.

Oh! Catch them!

Julian!

I cant hold on much longer.

Jock!

Here they are.

You! Come down!

No!

That way!

Police! Run for it!

Theyre getting away.

Not for long!

Timmy! Come!

Go on, go get em!

Alright, boy, alright. Weve got them.

Poor Jock, poor Mrs. Andrews.

Yes, well, I think Jock will be happier
without his stepfather at present.

Now are you sure youre all alright?

Yes.

Oh, good gracious me!

Id quite forgotten.

I called your father.

The police said you were back.
Oh, children are you, are

Oh I say, Ive never see
dirtier children in my life.

Hello Uncle Quentin. Were fine.

Stolen goods, tunnels, spook-trains.

Is this your idea of a camping holiday?
