The Bachelorette Australia (2015–…): Season 7, Episode 1 - Premiere - full transcript

Brooke's season of The Bachelorette
is starting right now.

Welcome to an unprecedented
seventh season of The Bachelorette,

a season set to be
the most momentous ever.

For the first time in 20 years
of Bachelor and Bachelorette history

anywhere in the world,

Australia's sweetheart,
Brooke Blurton,

has become the world's first
bisexual Bachelorette.

And while some things
may be different,

one thing remains the same.

Whether it be
with a man or with a woman,

Brooke is here for one reason only -

to find the love of her life.

BROOKE: OK. Are we ready?

Third time lucky.

How's it going?
(LAUGHS) Hello.

I first came into the mansion in 2018

on Nick Cummins's season
of The Bachelor.

I've got a pair of balls. (LAUGHS)

(LAUGHS) Oh, yeah. You... you do.

Meeting Nick, I didn't know
that we would get along so quickly

and then I'd feel such a...
a connection straightaway...

Are you blushing? He's blushing.

Yeah, I'm blushing.
(LAUGHS)

She'd be a great wife.
Can't say that or what?

BROOKE: ..and genuinely thought that
I was gonna be the girl at the end.

Our connection just kept growing.

But then...

..everything changed.

I'm so sick of feeling the same way
I've felt in my past relationships,

and I don't want
to continue to feel like that.

I came here to fall in love, and I...

..I need a... a guy
that knows what he wants.

(SIGHS)

BROOKE:
He never... answered my questions.

I...

..gave it another shot.

OMG! It's Alex Nation!

BROOKE: I think she's beautiful.

Inside, I was, like, "Oh!" Like,
I'm excited to... to get to know her.

Yeah, you're pretty cute.

I've been holding that in for ages.
(LAUGHS)

BROOKE:
I had healed from the first process,

hoping that there could be
some potential in paradise.

But then everything changed again.

I feel like my...

..my feelings for Bill

have kind of surpassed
what was going on with you and I.

(SIGHS)

She was the person that I wanted
to get to know the most here, but...

..she obviously feels more connected
to someone else.

When I think about that experience,
I do get a little bit sad still.

I am just a girl
trying to fall in love.

Whoever that's with,

my motivation to find love
has always been the same.

I've always looked beyond
what a person looks like.

It's not about sexuality.

Like, it's not about gender.
It's not about genitalia.

It's always about connection...

..a partner
that is on the same team as me.

That's the... that's what I want.

I just want to find my person.

Doing it twice over and the
experience that I had in both times,

I think I'm much stronger -
like, I think I've learned a lot.

Family is my whole world.

If you find someone that deserves
what you're putting out,

then that's the person
that deserves you.

BROOKE: I think my childhood

was different than most.

My mum and my nan passed away
when I was quite young,

and I learnt to grow up
quite quickly.

I had to step into

that motherly role for my siblings

when, really,
I was just a kid myself.

Mum would definitely be
very proud of you right now.

Thanks, Troy.

But I think my childhood hasn't...

..completely defined me.

It's shaped me, but it's...

..it makes... it makes me so proud
that that's where I came from

and this is where I am now.

Being the Bachelorette,
I get teary, I get emotional,

I get goose bumps, because...

..I'm the first Indigenous lead.

I feel a bit of responsibility to...

..not only my community
but also the queer community as well.

I'm combining
both of those together, and...

..it is amazing.

(BLEEP) is. Sorry. (BLEEP).

This is... this is cool.

Like... I think me as...

..a 10-year-old girl looking back

and being able to watch this on TV
and feel so represented

and feel like
I can see myself onscreen,

the barriers that have been broken
just by doing this,

I think, is huge.

It's gonna be huge.

OSHER: It's time
to smash some boundaries...

All my life, people have tried
to put me into boxes, categories,

label me,
and I think you set your own path.

Nothing really defines you
unless you want it to.

OSHER: ..as Brooke takes us
into uncharted waters...

Ladies and gentlemen,
are you ready to make history?

CONTESTANTS: Yes.
Let's do it.

OSHER: ..facing a mansion
full of men AND women.

BROOKE:
This is how I want to fall in love.

It's something
that I wouldn't compromise.

And I am exactly
where I'm meant to be.

Oh, she's here. Stop it.
What does she look like?

It's the same Brooke, just new style,
better taste, in men AND women.

MAN: Wow.
She's an absolute bombshell.

She looks stunning.
Girl, you look amazing.

BROOKE: Every time I come over here,
it's like a party.

Bring it on!

Oh!
I don't know where to look.

How many abs does he have?

Oh, my God!

OSHER: It's the season
that redefines The Bachelorette...

BROOKE: I really wanted to kiss her
in that moment.

OSHER: ..and brings a whole new
set of tensions into play.

BROOKE:
I knew coming into this experience

that there might be a possibility
the guys and girls

would have an attraction
to one another.

MAN: There's one guy in here
who's deviated away from

wanting to get to know Brooke.

I'm not OK with this.

Alarm bells. Lies.

I'm hearing rumours and speculation.

Honestly,
tonight was a total mind(BLEEP).

I don't want to
have to do that again.

OSHER:
Get ready to open your heart...

To real love in all forms.

BROOKE:
They know how to kiss a woman.

Could just kiss you all day.

BROOKE: I do absolutely believe
that I could find he or she.

I just want
someone to share my life with.

WOMAN: I am actually so smitten.

My heart's racing.

BROOKE: I have never
been romanced like this before.

MAN: It feels like
something out of a fairytale.

BROOKE: I'm in love with you.

OSHER: ..as Brooke
finds her one true person.

BROOKE: I did this experience
the first time. It didn't work.

I tried the second. It didn't work.

And the third time has restored...

..like, my faith
in, like, actually...

..loving something so unconditionally
and knowing they love you back.

I'm really and utterly in love.

I'm so madly in love.

(STICKS CLAP)
(DIDGERIDOO PLAYS)

Hello, Osh. (LAUGHS)

MAN: Worimi. Hello.

Welcome, brothers and sisters,
ladies and gentlemen.

I would like
to welcome you all here this evening

to pay our respects to the country
that we stand upon today,

Dharug country,
and of the Bidjigal clan.

I especially and humbly
pay my respects

to the elders of this great nation,
both past and present.

Ladies and gentlemen,

while you're here in Dharug country,

may the good spirit Baiame
watch over you from the high country

and take you safely on your journey.

(SPEAKS INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE)

Walk in good spirits.

I'll leave you in peace and harmony.

Yanu.

(LAUGHS)

It's just like
a little piece of home.

Thank you so much, guys.

Can I hug? (LAUGHS)
You can do whatever you want.

Thank you so much.

Thank you.

BROOKE: This is a perfect moment
and I get tears.

It wasn't, like, sad tears.
It was, like, a happy cry.

How does it feel to be here?

(SIGHS)

I think after that welcome,
obviously, um,

all of the emotion at the moment,
it's a lot to process.

What would it have meant to you
to turn on the TV as a teenager

and see someone who was like you
doing this?

Yeah, I... I can't honestly
put it into words, Osh.

I'm so excited for all those
little 10-year-old Brookes that

feel represented and feel proud
to just be who they are

with no judgement and... and free.

'Cause you can't be
what you can't see.

And right now, Brooke,
you are showing

a generation of people
what they can be.

That is a huge reason
why I'm glad you're here,

but I also really want you
to fall in love.

(BOTH LAUGH)

Well, I'm hoping third time lucky
that there could be someone,

and I'm going with this
with an open mind and an open heart,

as always, and...

..being love is just certainty,

it's comfortable,
it's that unconditional love,

which is something
that I'm not very familiar with,

and, like, I've had my walls up
for a very long time,

especially through
the experiences I've been through

doing this twice over,

but I'm trying really hard that...

..all walls are down
in this experience.

I am open to it
and I'm ready for it.

Brooke, your love story
is about to begin.

Have a fantastic night, darling.
Thank you.

Enjoy.
Oh, my God.

(LAUGHS) Oh, my God.

Just breathe. Like, just
breathe through it. You can do this.

This is the moment.

(SIGHS)

OK. (CLEARS THROAT)

I'm Holly. I'm 27. I'm from Sydney.

I am a marketing administrator,
and then I am also a dancer.

I'd watched Brooke
on her season of The Bachelor

and thought
that she is beautiful on the outside,

she's beautiful on the inside,
and from what I've seen of her,

we'd get on really, really well
and had heaps of things in common.

So, I'm here to get to know Brooke,

because this could 100% be the start
of something wonderful.

Oh, my God. (LAUGHS)

Hello.
Hi!

How are you?
That dress, you.

(LAUGHS)
You look incredible.

Hello, beautiful. How are you?
Is it OK if I have...?

Yeah, of course. What's your name?
I'm Holly.

Holly. Come around. (LAUGHS)
It's so nice to meet you.

Wow.
You look incredible.

No, so do you!

How are you feeling?
Good.

How are YOU feeling? Nervous?
Nervous.

Yeah?
Yeah. Just great to be here.

Oh.
Yeah.

That's so good.
Tell me about yourself.

I am 27.
Yeah.

I'm a dancer. Do you dance?

Are you a dance floor gal?
(LAUGHS) Um...

Can you dance?
I dance, but I'm not very good.

Well, when I am feeling
nervous or overwhelmed,

something that I do
is I slow-dance...

OK.
..and it just calms me down.

It brings me back to the moment
and it just...

Beautiful.
..lets me take a breath.

So I was hoping,
if it's OK with you...

Yes?
..we could have a little dance.

Is that OK with you?
Yes. Of course. Where would...

Yes?
So I'm gonna hold you there.

Ooh!

Aw!
I know.

This is beautiful.
And then we're just gonna...

And just keep turning.
And just keep turning.

(LAUGHS)
Yeah.

Yeah. This is extremely romantic.

It's good.
(BOTH LAUGH)

I just can't get over this number.
It's beautiful.

I just think...
Thank you.

..you are gorgeous.

So are you.

(LAUGHS)
Took the words right out of my mouth.

BROOKE: Slow-dancing with Holly
was just so romantic.

I just felt comfortable
with doing that with her, instantly,

and I don't really get that
with a lot of people.

I loved it.

'Cause I think that's so nice.

It's comforting. Yeah.
It is. You're actually really warm.

BROOKE: Holly has fully wooed me.

Ooh!

That was... oh. And the kick back.

BROOKE:
Just the way that she makes me feel.

I am, like, mind blown.

You're really good at that,
by the way.

Thank you.
I've never slow-danced with someone.

That was really beautiful.
First time for everything tonight.
Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

So, what brings... like...
you're in the mansion.

Yes.
(LAUGHS) You're here.

What... what actually
brings you here?

I am so happy
with everything in my life.

I'm ready to share that with someone.

And I'm hoping
that someone might be you.

Oh.
Yeah.
I love that.

Yep.
Thank you. I'm excited for that.

Oh.

HOLLY: Oh, she's incredible.

Ooh!

She's so pretty.

Alright.
I should let you get inside.

Well, thank you for the dance.
Don't dance with anyone else.

(LAUGHS)
I won't. I promise.

Brooke is a great dancer.

I don't know
what she's worried about.

Yeah. It was...
it was a wonderful dance.

Oh, no. How romantic.

Oh, I just can't stop smiling.
How romantic.

We're... let's just pack it up.
We're done. (LAUGHS)

I absolutely loved that.
That was so gorgeous.

(ENGINE STARTS)

Motorbike?

(LAUGHS)

Hey.

(LAUGHS) That's one way to rock up.

How you doing?
Good. How are YOU?

Yeah, well, thanks.
Oh, my God.

Look at this shiny number.
I know. I've gone all-out.

Lovely to meet you. Mwah!
What's your...

Mwah!
..what's your name?

Darvid.
Darvid.

BROOKE:
First of all, Darvid is handsome,

who I did not expect
to just rock up on a lawnmower.

That is one impressive ride there.
(LAUGHS) Like...

It's got a backstory to it. (LAUGHS)
OK.

So I've got a landscaping business
back in Brissie,

so hence the... hence the mower.

Oh! Beautiful.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I've got a couple of other things
there I'll go and grab and show you.

So just... you stay there.
Yeah. OK.

Hang five.
I'll stay put.

Close your eyes.
Alright.

BROOKE:
And now he's made me close my eyes

so he can prepare something.

Like, what do I expect next?

So... as you heard,

my name is Darvid, which is Persian.

So I thought...
Are you a Persian prince?

I could be.
(LAUGHS)

If you want me to be. (LAUGHS)

I thought in amongst the madness...
(SIGHS)

..we can sit down
and have a cup of tea.

Oh! I would love a tea right now.
(LAUGHS) Maybe warm you up.

Please!
This is my Persian little set-up.

It's... it's quite important to me
to embrace my heritage, obviously.

It's something
that I haven't always embraced,

I think, in younger years.

As I get a bit older, it...
it sort of means a bit more to me.

Yeah, yeah.
I just love my Aboriginal culture.

Like, it's just such a grounding...

Yeah, it's a...
..process, when you learn more.

Yeah. It's nice to sort of
delve a bit deeper in it.

Yeah. Yeah.
I think this is really special.

Culture for me is everything,

because, obviously,
I really take pride

in my own Indigenous background.

Cheers.
Cheers.

Mmm.
Oh!

BROOKE: So seeing Darvid
very passionate about his culture

is... oh, it's just so beautiful.

I've got one last thing for you,
as corny as it is.

This is...

Can you guess?
Uh, yeah.

It's a genie lamp. Yeah.
It's a l... Yes.

Yes. I'm... I'm big on wishes.

OK. (LAUGHS)
Yes.

So, I thought, fitting the Persian
theme, I'd give you three wishes.

OK.
(LAUGHS)

I know you already used
the first one on me appearing.

Yes. Exactly.
Your Persian prince appearing.

So you've got...
How did you know?

(LAUGHS)
(LAUGHS) So, you've got two more.

Of course, I'm hoping a couple
of those wishes are me at the end.

Thank you so much, Darvid.
It was a pleasure.

I actually really enjoyed...
Me too.

Yeah.
Oh!

DARVID: Maybe a first single date.
We'll start with that.

I won't sell myself to the end
just yet, but...

..we're on the right track
at least - we're on the right track.

(LAUGHS)
Wow.

(SIGHS)

That was so cute.

Oh, my God.
I thought that was just so sweet.

Bring out my Persian prince again.
(LAUGHS)

I was, like,
"Do you just want to go get, like,

"hitched now on the lawnmower?"

Just... (LAUGHS)

"Just ma..."

Could you imagine? And the cans,
like, rattling on the back.

Like... ticka, ticka, tick. (LAUGHS)

I always get all way ahead of myself.

(LAUGHS)
I'm, like, "Whoa! Calm down!"

(SIGHS)

(MAN SIGHS)

My name is Beau. I'm 34.

I am a photographer
and I'm from Sydney.

I like to look good.
I like to dress good.

Everyone used to say
I was a pretty boy.

It's just naturally been
a thing for me.

My name is spelt B-E-A-U,
because in French,

even though we're not French,
it means 'beautiful',

so B-E-A-U-tiful. (LAUGHS)

Hello.
Hello.

Brooke. Brookie.
Yes.

Or what I would
like to call you, BB.

(LAUGHS)
How are you?

I'm good. How are you?
Good, thank you. Good, thank you.

Whoof! You look beautiful.

Cute AF.
You look handsome as well.

Thank you very much. I think I do.
I know I do, actually.

(LAUGHS) Confident.
Yes, so, my name is Beau.

I'm a photographer, carpenter...

Oh, wow.
..and builder.

Some would say
I'm a jack-of-all-trades.

Beautiful.

Others would say
I'm great with my hands.
(BOTH LAUGH)

She's definitely attractive,
that's for sure.

I love girls that are just cute AF.

First up, I want to do
a little impromptu photoshoot.

Are you down?
OK.

(LAUGHS)
Alright. Ready?

Three, two, one.

(LAUGHS) This is so sweet.

Oof! Lovely photo.
(LAUGHS)

Lovely photo.
BROOKE: He's come with a job.

It's, like, "I'm here.
I'm here to do business."

Just free up.
OK.

Little bit more energy.
Feel yourself, girl.

Alright. I'm gonna feel myself.
Alright.

(LAUGHS) Literally.

(LAUGHS)
What about, like, a little, like...

Oh, I love that.
Ooh! Now I'm getting lower.

Damn!
(LAUGHS)

Alright. Ready? One, two, three.

Oh, my God.

That's the money shot, girl.
(LAUGHS)

Damn!

Lovely. I have my own
personal stash of photos already.

Oh! No.

That's... we don't want
to go down that line. Gross.

Eugh! (LAUGHS)

I hope those photos are good.
Oh, they're good.

As I said, they're for
my personal collection now.

(LAUGHS)
(LAUGHS)

BEAU: Brooke is picking up
what I put down.

She's seen the confidence.
I felt like she absolutely loved it.

Bye, Beau.
See ya.

BEAU: She loves me already.

I feel good. I feel good.
I look good. Look at me.

Love it. (LAUGHS)

(LAUGHS)

(BLEEP)!

My name is Carissa.
I'm 30 years old.

And I'm a psychologist
on the Gold Coast.

Hi.

Hello.

How are you?

Good.
It's nice to finally meet you.

Wow.

You look so beautiful. Oh, my God.

Oh, thank you.
What was your name?

Carissa.
Carissa.

So, I'm an artist.

But I painted you a picture.

(LAUGHS)
(LAUGHS)

Thank you so much.
That's OK.

So I actually have a little story
I wanted to share with you

about what's
kind of led me to be here.

So, a few years ago, I lost both
my parents. They both passed away.

And... after my mum's funeral,
there was this beautiful rainbow

that just appeared instantly
as we walked out.

And...

..after that,
it got to the stage where

I would just keep seeing rainbows
whenever I thought about her.

And recently, I just started
seeing all these rainbows again.

I just felt like she was around me
and I didn't know why.

And then I saw your photo
for the first time.

Obviously, you're so beautiful,
and who as a person, and...

..I just felt so drawn to you.

(LAUGHS) OK.

Wow. (LAUGHS)

Oh.

Um...

..it's crazy that you're saying that,
'cause on the way here, like,

I saw a beautiful rainbow in the sky,

and I was, like, "It's a sign."

So I'm trying not to...
to get so emotional right now...
Yeah.

..but I... I really appreciate
you sharing the story with me.

BROOKE: I'm definitely
a bit of a spiritual person,

so when she spoke that a rainbow
is definitely a sign for her as well,

I was trying to hold back tears.

So... you can open it now,

and I'm going to explain
why I painted it.

'Cause I'm an artist,
as I said, but...

..I did it on a turtle
because I love the ocean.

Oh, my God. I love this so much.
And that's a rainbow.

And I want the rainbow to represent

not only our queer community
but also that universe magic,

the magic that...
the rainbows kind of led me here.

I'm actually speechless.
I don't even know what to say.

'Cause I think... my totem
is a turtle. I love the ocean.

I know.
You're kidding.

No.
I did not know that.

No. It means a lot to me.

You have no idea
how much this just means.

So much synchronicity, hey?
Yeah.

Can I just... thank you so much.
(LAUGHS)

Oh, wow. I was lost for words.

She's so beautiful and...

..straightaway,
I felt we're just so in sync.

Oh, God. OK. Enjoy.
I'll see you soon.

CARISSA: It's hard not to feel like
maybe Brooke could be my person.

Oh, I couldn't have expected it
to go any better.

Oh, my God, I love this so much.

Oh! That gave me goose bumps then.
(LAUGHS)

I definitely have a good feeling
about Carissa.

So I'm in real trouble, if...
(LAUGHS)

Phew! Like...

Yeah.

(SIGHS)

My name's Konrad. I'm 31.

I'm from Melbourne.

And I'm a carpenter.

Here we go.

I think people judge me
by appearance a lot of the time,

thinking I'm gonna be sort of

typical... maybe athletic,
staunch kind of guy in a sense,

but I'm really kind of sensitive
and definitely a hopeless romantic.

I love love.
I love every aspect of it.

(SIGHS)

(LAUGHS)

It's kind of like a lucky dip.
You don't know who's gonna come out.

(SIGHS)

Hello.

Hey. How you going?
Good.

You look bright. (LAUGHS)
(LAUGHS)

You look beautiful. Look at you.
Oh, thank you.

I'll just leave this here.
Hopefully, it doesn't fall out.

Hello.
Hello. I'm Brooke.

Nice to meet you.
Konrad. Nice to meet you.

Konrad.

So, if this hasn't given it away
already, I'm a carpenter.

Yeah.

So, I've put together
a little project for us.

I thought we could have a go

at maybe building something
we... we could share,

we could use together...

Love that.

..and... and maybe create some of
our own memories we could cherish.

Yep.
Yeah? So...

I'm down.

Would you be able to help me
grab some materials?

I can absolutely carry some stuff.
Is that alright? Yeah?

First impression - wow.

A man with his hands.

Carrying wood. He's strong.

Getting me on the job already.

I like it. I really like this.
Yeah? I love this confidence.

BROOKE: The tradie look just...

..gets me.

Should I get on the tools too?

Yeah? Alright, come...
Yeah. I want to give it a crack.

Yeah, absolutely.

Brooke looks absolutely amazing.
She's gorgeous. (LAUGHS)

And she just wants
to jump on the tools straightaway.

Like, ha!

(WHIRRING)

Perfect. How good?

She put that furniture together
better than I could have.

Thank you so much. Well done.
Good job. Well done.

You know what that is?
That's... chef's kiss.

Chef's kiss. (LAUGHS)
Yes. Beautiful.

Can we test it?
Now?

You know, yeah, just...
I know you really want to sit on it.

But...
What?

Are you trying to run away from me?
How about we make a deal?

I'll find a... a magical,
beautiful, picturesque spot

somewhere
in the back of the mansion,

I'll get changed into something
a little bit more appropriate,

and during the cocktail party,
maybe we could...

I...
..and we could sit down.

That is absolutely happening.
Yes?

I am, like,
dying to sit on this seat for a chat.

That's your pinky promise?
Yep.

OK.
Deal?

Perfect.

But he wants to... to wait
to get to the cocktail party.

Thank you, Brooke. I'll see you...
(LAUGHS) ..I'll see you soon.

Don't smash anything, please.

(LAUGHS)
(LAUGHS)

BROOKE: So I feel like
he's kind of left me wanting more.

Bye, Konrad!

And, yeah, bit of mystery to him,
which I think is really sexy.

He was hot. He was really hot.

Just want to get to know him more.
Like, he left me curious.

I love... I just love that.

It's almost time.
It's almost go time.

(LAUGHS)
I'm ready.

Are you ready?
Yes. (LAUGHS)

(SIGHS)
I am actually shitting myself.

I feel like I need to vomit.

You'll be right. You want to do
another relaxation breath?

Yes. One more.
Ready?

(BOTH INHALE)

(BOTH EXHALE)

And again.

(BOTH INHALE)

(BOTH EXHALE)

OK.

Here we go.

(SIGHS)

(SIGHS)

Hello.
How you doing?

Good. How are you going?
Good.

What a night
to find the love of your life.

(LAUGHS) Exactly.

I'm Ryan.

Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you. I'm Brooke.

RYAN: I'm definitely here
to meet the right girl,

and Brooke
is just what I'm looking for.

Um... (LAUGHS)

My name is Ritu.
Nice to meet you.

As soon as I saw her
and we connected eyes

and we held hands,
I seriously felt really relaxed.

I feel so safe
now that we're holding hands.

That's a big green flag for me.

I just want to say, um...

(SPEAKS INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE)

So, I'm Taje.
Oh, my God. I'm speechless already.

Wow.
Um... I'm a First Nation woman.

And I live in Narromine,
New South Wales.

She's smoking-hot - like...

..I couldn't even stare at her.
(LAUGHS)

I study, so I do a bachelor
of community and social development

for Indigenous communities.

Wow. Beautiful.
And I'm just, like... oh, my God.

You're stunning, and
I can't even stare at you. (LAUGHS)

It's fine. Do you want to take
a couple of breaths, like...

Yeah, she's so my type.

I'm Kurt.
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you.

OK.

Yeah, cool.

For that reason, I thought
I'd get you a pair of, uh, togs,

and, uh,
they've got your name on the back.

(LAUGHS)

Just nervous energy.

Yep.
Just lapsing.

It's fine. We... we got this.

Well...

..I do.

Do... Oh.

I like your confidence. It's good.
Look. Someone's got to have it.

(FUNKY MUSIC)

(LAUGHS)

# Well, hey, Bachette
It's time to see

# See if I'm right for you
and you're right for me

# Who knows
where this journey could go?

# Could be a bumpy ride
with highs and lows... #

What an interesting character.

Peace.

Thank you.
Well done.

I'm Matthew, by the way.

I didn't even think I could rap.
I don't even think still I can rap.

That was just ridiculous. (LAUGHS)

Oh.

Hi!
Hello.

I'm Jess.

(LAUGHS)
Love brownies. I love chocolate.

Do you?

JESS: Standing in that moment then,
it just felt like

I was in the right place,
just was magical.

I'm Emily. Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you, Emily.
This is little Elvis.

Oh, my God, Elvis.

Little baby Elvis.
You are so cute.

And you look gorgeous!

So do you. Wow.
Talk about this dress.

We got puff vibes going on.

EMILY: Oh, my gosh.
I am so interested in her.

Like, now having met her,
I feel great and good about it.

Good. (LAUGHS) Yeah.

Nice to meet you. What's your name?
Hi. Likewise. Johann.

Johann?
Yes.

Oh, beautiful.
JOHANN: I think she was great.

I was great. It was all good.
It was all great.

Yee-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!

Hello! Hello.
Nice to meet you.

What's your name?
Bec.
Bec.

That just completely exceeded
my expectations.

BROOKE: Hello.
Hello.

You're looking good.

Oh, stop it. So are you.
(LAUGHS)

I'm Steve.
Nice to meet you, Steve.

Oh, it's so nice to meet you.
Yes. You too.

You look amazing.
You look gorgeous as well.

You look handsome. (LAUGHS)
You look even better in person
somehow.

Brooke is stunning -
I couldn't belie... like...

..she's even better in person.

I didn't think
that was possible, but wow.

She's an absolute bombshell.
She's such a sweetheart as well.

(SIGHS AND RUBS HANDS)

Smack bang on the money, guys.

Good crop. Good picks.

(SIGHS)

My name's Jamie-Lee.

I'm 30. I live in Sydney.
And I'm a psychology student.

I was on the Honey Badger season
of The Bachelor.

I came in as an intruder.

Hello.
Hi. I'm Jamie-Lee.

Jamie-Lee? I'm Nick.
Nick. Nice to meet you.

So I do know Brooke.

Brooke and I spent a lot of time
together in the house.

We had so much in common.
We just clicked.

But I definitely think
it was more than just friends.

I honestly think
that there was something there.

I was really mindful that Brooke

had a really strong connection
with Nick,

and I never wanted
to overstep that friendship barrier,

so I never really voiced my mind

and... and spoke about
there maybe being feelings involved.

And when I left the mansion,
we kind of lost touch,

so Brooke and I
never got the chance to see

if there was
actually something between us.

I feel like now I have
a second chance with Brooke.

I have a chance to actually
get my feelings off my chest

and see if there's something more.

She has no idea that I'm here
or what I have to say.

(LAUGHS)

When I left the mansion,
I wrote a little letter for Brooke.

To this day,
I've kept a copy of this letter,

and tonight's the night I get
to share those words with her again.

I feel like
I'm really putting myself out there,

I'm putting
my feelings out there, and...

..I just don't know
how she's going to react.

Maybe she just sees me as a friend.
I really don't know.

I guess this is the moment
that's gonna tell.

(GASPS)

(LAUGHS)
Hey, babe.

(CAR DOOR CLOSES)

(GASPS)

(LAUGHS)

Hey, babe.

Oh, my God! (LAUGHS)
You look amazing!

Oh, my God!

Hi.
Jamie!

How are you?

You look incredible.
Oh, my God.

(BOTH LAUGH)

Oh, my God.
(LAUGHS)

Pinch me.

I did not expect you
to come around that corner.

Yeah.
Oh, my God. What are you doing?

I have something to read for you.

And I hope that you remember this.

"I'm so grateful that I've had you
through this experience.

"You're one of a kind
and you deserve to take this out.

"Please remember your worth

"through everything you've got
coming your way.

"This is gonna test you, but
if anyone can handle it, it's you.

"Remember,
things happen for a reason,

"to have faith in yourself
and the universe's plan for you.

"Thank you for being you,
letting me in and always being real.

"Everything will turn out
exactly as it should. I promise."

(LAUGHS)

Oh!
(BOTH LAUGH)

I remember you giving me that and
writing that to me. I still have it.

(LAUGHS)
I still have it.

When you left...

..I was...

..like, so sad.

And then...

..I thought about you all the time.

BROOKE: I've cared for Jamie-Lee
for a long time.

There was something there
from the start between us both,

but we've just been in relationships

and we've just never been able
to, like, express that.

Just want you to know that, like,

I don't want to go out there
and date just anyone.

I want to date you, Brooke.

Oh!
For real.

Yep.
Like... that's... that's why I'm here.

And I honestly believe that
everything that we've been through

has led us to right now.

Oh, my God.

I'm so glad that you said that and...
(LAUGHS)

..so grateful that you were here,
like, from the bottom of my heart,

'cause we didn't have our chance
to actually explore this.

This is a new journey for you and I.

Let's do it together. We got this.
Alright.

BROOKE: Just seeing her,
a lot of feelings came flooding back.

Me too.

So, I absolutely think it could be a
beautiful love story with Jamie-Lee.

I'm hoping
that this could be our time.

(LAUGHS)

And I genuinely believe
that everything will turn out

exactly as it should.

JAMIE-LEE:
I just put it all out there.

I think that some of that
was reciprocated.

Thank God.

Come find me later, OK?
I will. Be good.

I know you.

JAMIE-LEE: So, I don't know
if I'm getting ahead of myself,

but I feel like
there is a chance there.

I feel confident
that this could be it. (LAUGHS)

Feels so right.

Did not expect that. (LAUGHS)

I'll just... Whoo!

(GLASSES CLINK)
Cheers. Cheers! Cheers!

Congrats, everyone, for getting this
far and being a part of this and...

This far.
To the next step, hopefully.
Yeah. Hopefully.

TAJE:
Going into the first cocktail party,

it's just so crazy
that there's both male and females

in the same space,

you know, being here for one woman.

Heck, yeah. Here for it, baby.
Yep.

Um, um, um, um!
Yeah.

Absolute vibes.
This is gonna be great.

It is so awesome to see that.

Everybody tell us
what you did on the red carpet.

I decided to get her
a pair of swimmers.

I'm wearing a matching pair.
Do you want to see 'em?

OTHERS: Yes!

(LAUGHTER)
You're the man!

You're the man!
(APPLAUSE)

There's a lot of people
in the party now.

The atmosphere is pumping.

How does my butt look?
OTHERS: Yeah.

It needs a bit of work, eh?
It needs a bit of work.

We're mingling with everyone.
We're sussing everyone out.

There was apparently a man here
who was building a chair.

Oh!
(LAUGHS)

The man's right here.
That's y... (LAUGHS)

That's him.

But I just wanted to show who I am
and show my confidence, I guess.

I did a photoshoot with her.
I owned that shit, man.

You owned it? Oh, no...
Oh, (BLEEP) ate it up.

BEAU: Because I know
I'm a big threat, that's for sure.

(LAUGHS)

Oh, shit.

I have to ask, like, how do you guys
feel that it's both, like, male...

I love it.
..and female?

Bring it on! I love it. It's fun.
(LAUGHS)

BEAU: I mean, to be honest, I'm not
worried about this situation now,

which is guys and girls
vying for Brooke's attention.

I don't think much scares me,
to be honest.

Yeah, OK.

There's nothing wrong
with a bit of healthy competition.

Do you feel a little bit,
like, intimidated

there's guys as well or...?

Like, if I'm being
completely honest with you...

Yeah.

..I think women are so much
more intimidating than men.

When I first kind of felt that
there was gonna be women in here,

I was, like, "I'm screwed."

(LAUGHS)
"I'm literally screwed."

I was, like...
I just feel like women know women.

100%. There's
some stiff competition here, eh?

Coming into this mansion, I don't
know if anyone will recognise me.

I don't know if anyone knows
that I have a history with Brooke.

MAN: Who have we got?

(GASPING AND SCREAMING)

But I'm nervous. I'm nervous
for this part now. (LAUGHS)

Another one.
Oh, wow.

MAN: Ooh!

Who's that?

She looks familiar.
Hey, guys.

(OTHERS CALL GREETINGS)
Hi.

Hello.
I'm Jamie-Lee.
I'm Ryan.

Nice to meet you, Ryan.
You too.

BEC: Bec.
JAMIE-LEE: Hi, Bec.

You're beautiful. Nice to meet you.
How are you?

Hi.
Hi.

HOLLY: I see someone walk in
over to the fireplace.

And I ran over.

Hi!
How are you? I'm Jamie-Lee.

Jamie-Lee. Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too.

HOLLY: And I was, like, "Oh, my God!

"I actually recognise you,

"from Brooke's last season
on The Bachelor - Jamie-Lee."

You've been on this show before,
though, haven't you?

Yeah, I have.
I was literally...
I was just about to ask.

Yeah. I was on Brooke's season.

Oh, wow!
So we know each other. Yeah.

Crazy.
Oh. Inside track.

(LAUGHTER)

(SIGHS) So, Jamie-Lee walking in,

I think it's thrown
a massive spanner in the works.

Having that connection already,
that's big.

Bit more competition, lads.
It's all good.

KONRAD: Damn!

Yeah, Jamie-Lee, that's a wildcard.
That's a curve ball.

Jamie-Lee, I think,
definitely has an upper hand.

Like, they obviously know
each other. They have a history.

But, I mean, uh, I hope I...
I resonate with Brooke

more than Jamie-Lee does. (LAUGHS)

That's all I'm gonna say.
(LAUGHS)

Oh, man,
I'm starting to get a little...

..little percolation
in the stomach, feeling...

..thinking about
what's gonna happen soon.

(TAPS GLASS)

(CHEERING)

Osher comes striding in
out of nowhere.

(TAPS GLASS)
Ladies and gentlemen, good evening!

MATT: He's looking pretty fly.
And everyone gets pretty excited.

Whoo!

I was really speechless
when I physically saw him.

Come up here and join me,
why don't you?

I'm hanging out with Osher?

Yeah, boy!

DARVID: We all know what this means.

The time is now. We're on.

Welcome to the mansion.
Welcome to your first cocktail party.

I'm so happy you're all here.

(CHEERING)

Ladies and gentlemen,
this is the first time in the world

that both men and women will be vying
for the Bachelorette's heart.

It's a beautiful thing, and
while the journey may be different,

the destination is exactly the same.

Brooke is here to find true love.

And if that's the same reason
that you're here...

..you're gonna need one of these.

(CHEERING)
Whoo!

Receiving a rose
from the Bachelorette

means that Brooke sees something in
you that she wants to explore further

in the hope
of turning an initial connection into

a beautiful love
that can last a lifetime.

And it is time alone with Brooke
on a single date

where that love has the chance
to fully blossom.

Which is where this comes in.

(CONTESTANTS EXCLAIM)

Oh!

Ladies and gentlemen,
this is the first impression rose.

Brooke will give this to the person

who makes the most lasting impression
upon her tonight.

And if you receive this rose, Brooke
wants to see a lot more of you,

because this rose
is also an invitation

to the very first single date.

(CHEERING AND WHISTLING)

HOLLY: There were a few
oohs and aahs from all of us

when the first impression rose
was announced,

because I think it would be

a really fantastic start
to the whole experience,

getting the first single date,
so I'm going for it.

OSHER:
Whatever you do, don't hold back,

because this rose could be your
head start to winning Brooke's heart.

Brooke has made
a massive first impression on me,

so if I was to get the first
impression rose, I would be stoked.

It would really sort of, you know,

cement where I...
where I sit with Brooke.

Ladies and gentlemen,

are you ready to make history?

CONTESTANTS: Yes!
(LAUGHS)

Please join me in
welcoming your Bachelorette, Brooke!

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

KONRAD: Seeing Brooke
walk into the cocktail party

is definitely
a pinch yourself moment.

(CHEERING)

CARISSA:
Brooke's walking down towards us

and I am absolutely mesmerised.

She's beautiful.
(CHEERING)

Yeah, it's just a stunning sight.

She's just... she... yeah.

She's just...

..just, oh... yeah.

Oh! Well. Wow.

I just want to
first of all say that, um,

you all look
so handsome and so beautiful tonight,

and I empathise
with where you guys are at

in terms of your feelings,
your emotions.

I've been there before.

So everything that you're feeling
is completely and utterly normal.

My heart is so warm

and it is filled with so much
excitement for what is to come.

I am really wanting
to find that love,

an absolute true and real love,

and I think after the
first impressions that you guys made

on that red carpet,

I really think it's in this room,
and I just want you all to know.

So, I'd love to make a toast,

and it's to this being
a beautiful experience,

to real love...

..in all forms, so... cheers to that.

CONTESTANTS: Cheers!

Cheers.
Cheers.

Mmm. So let's have some fun.

CONTESTANTS: Yes!

Whoo!
Whoo!

So...

..Carissa, would you like to
take this first little walk?

I would love to.
CONTESTANTS: Yay!

(LAUGHS)

Damn.
(LAUGHTER)

Oh, OK.

(LAUGHS)

I couldn't believe that Brooke chose
me for the first chat, to be honest,

I definitely was not expecting that.

Oh, I'm so excited
that you chose to talk to me first.

You on the red carpet
just made a huge impression on me.

Just straightaway.
Did I?

Absolutely.
Oh. I love that.

And that's why I was, like, you
have to be the first person that I...

Oh!
..come and grab.

The turtle, the picture...

I...
..it was so beautiful.

..I just couldn't believe
the synchronicity with everything.

Let's go interrupt 'em.

(BOTH LAUGH)
30 seconds. That's enough.

RYAN: I'm obviously feeling a little
bit down that Brooke picks Carissa

to have that first chat.

Who's gonna go interrupt first?
Mmm.

RYAN: And now,
there's a lot of anticipation

of who's gonna go butt in?

It would be bold for
the first person to go over there.

It's, like, what's a respectful
amount of time to let them...

..get to know each other?

10 minutes.
(LAUGHS)

You have a beautiful smile. And eyes.
Oh. I was just looking at YOUR eyes.

I was, like,
"Wow. They're so beautiful."

(LAUGHS)

MATT: Brooke and Carissa,
they were having such a nice chat.

It just felt like...
should someone go interrupt this?

I'm waiting for, like,
one of you boys kind of, like...

Yeah.
I'm, like... not yet, no.

Well, yeah.
No, I don't think... not yet either.

I mean, I'm not fussed of going up,
to be honest.

(LAUGHS)
No.

I'm not fussed
of going up and interrupting.

Really?
No.

And then it just went all silent.

(FOOTSTEPS)

(GASPS) Oh.

Someone's going.
Oh!

Sorry to interrupt.

(LAUGHS)
Taje.

Just saying
whenever you get a sec...

Holy shit. (LAUGHS) Wow. Um...

The girls
are coming out with a bang.

Oh.

That hurts. I felt that.

(LAUGHS)

Sorry to interrupt.
(LAUGHS)

Holy shit! (LAUGHS) Wow. Um...

The girls
are coming out with a bang.

Oh.

That hurts. I felt that.

(LAUGHS)

I'm sorry to steal you away
like that.

I obviously didn't want to...
Don't be silly.
..you know, interrupt.

I didn't expect Taje to be so ballsy
and to be the first to interrupt.

The confidence, I love it.

Kind of, like, "Oh, hello."

Confidence in a woman, it's
attractive. It's so self-assuring.

It's, like, "I can hold my own."

And I'm glad you've took that power,
'cause that's... that's... shows a lot.

I love when women carry that.

So sorry to interrupt you.
I'm not here to steal you yet.

Whenever you're ready.
OK.

Alright.
OK...

They are coming in so hot.

Feel like a very wanted woman
right now.

You are a wanted woman.
And I feel like from the women.

Yeah, yeah.
Like, where are...

Like, I don't know
where the boys are at.

I hate being... (SIGHS)

..really at this time
wish I wasn't so nice.

Like, are they being too polite?

Are they trying
not to tread on anyone's toes?

HOLLY: Guys, I'm getting in...
I'm getting in there next.

I just... I... I haven't seen any.

We're losing the battle
at the moment.

So, Holls, let's go.

HOLLY: Where do you want to go?

But the women tonight, they are fire.

Thank you for stealing me.
That's OK.

You've full, like,
cut in front of, like...

I know. I got in front of the boys.
..the big line.

Yeah, the boys.

(LAUGHS)
The girls all went in.

Yeah.
Love the confidence.

The boys are, like,
"Oh, yeah, yeah. We'll do it."

And I'm, like, "Well...
you've got some stiff competition."

Yeah. They do. They really do.

The girls were just getting the time
in and all the boys were stressing.

Here comes another one.

Hold my hand. (LAUGHS)
OK.

Pretty much all the girls
have had their chat.

Nah.
(BROOKE LAUGHS)

It was just
girl after girl after girl.

I... I'm fully not interrupting,
but when you guys are done,

I'm gonna be sitting in there
and hopefully you'll come join me.

Seriously, like,
the boys needed to step up.

Uh, we... we definitely
need some boys to...

Yeah, yeah.
There's been,
like, six girls, I think.

If we don't pick up our game,
all the lads are going home.

KONRAD: I know.

I'm watching the other girls talk to
Brooke and have their opportunity,

and I just... I really want
to have a really good chat with her.

Do youse have a bit of a game plan
how youse might,

you know,
get some personal time with her?

I did make a pinky promise with her.

Yeah.
Did ya?

Yeah, that we'd... we'd test out
the seat in a special spot, so...

Tonight, I've got a plan.

I, um, obviously
built a love seat with Brooke

just before on the red carpet,

hopefully, you know,
we can create some memories on

that we can cherish in the future.

So... I would love to get a moment
on the love seat with Brooke

and then, yeah,
fulfil the pinky promise.

Pinky promise is a pinky promise.
(LAUGHS) Yeah!

You know what I mean?
You know what I mean?

Hey, it's a binding contract.
You know?

That's exactly right.
It's unwritten law, mate.

I did find a nice spot for it
in the backyard.

So you made her a love seat?
It is just over there. I did.

Well, we did... made it together.
Yeah.

Oh, nice.
Yeah. So...

KONRAD: And, yeah, and I think
I made it pretty clear with everyone

that I thought it would be
nice and... and respectful,

um, if everyone let Brooke and I

have the first opportunity
to use the love seat.

That's a nice-looking chair,
I reckon.

It IS a nice chair.
He's done well.

You need some, like,
pillows and stuff.

Yeah.
And blanket.

Like, you can't just sit on it
like that!

KONRAD: You reckon?

Konrad, um, hasn't had a chance
to talk to Brooke yet, and...

..I mean, I was looking at his chair.

It looked pretty... pretty lonely.

It didn't have anything on it.

Should we get a pillow now
and put it over there

so it's, like, nice and comfy?

You reckon?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on.

So I was like, "No! You can't...
you can't sit on it like that!"

Like, what are you thinking?
That's such a bloke thought process.

You can't just sit on it,
like, all basic!

That's just boring. And it'd
probably be really uncomfortable.

(LAUGHS)

So I grab some pillows and, yeah...

..and just made it
a little bit more comfier for him.

(LAUGHS)

You're the best.
Give me a high five.

Yes, man! Come on.
Thank you.

Let's go get this.
This is good.

Gotta help a fella out. (LAUGHS)

KONRAD: Now I need a plan
to get her to the seat, right?

Oh, OK, so...
there's a few people waiting.

Yeah. Who's in the line?

How we doing, guys?
Yeah, I am talking to her next.

I'm just gonna let her
have her turn with Bec and...

..then I'll be ready for my chat.

I want some time with Brooke because
I do have a lot to offer Brooke.

I believe that there are qualities
in myself that she will like.

Where are you gonna go sit?

Can't tell you that.

(LAUGHS)
(LAUGHS)

Can't tell you that.

I'll just save that for the moment.

Yeah, fair enough.

I want to just do
something a little bit different

and take her somewhere nice in the
garden, somewhere... nice lighting,

and, um... yeah.

I'm not gonna lose the opportunity.

I can't now. It looks so good.
You can't! You can't!

Like, this is your creation.
Yeah.

And you can't leave without sitting
in your own creation, you know?

Yeah, true.
Like, you gotta test it out.

Yes, I...
I feel hypes from the girls.

I'm excited for you.

I feel like... I'm getting, like,
residual butterflies, because you...

From me?
Now I'm, like, "Whoa, whoa, whoa!"

Shoot your shot. Like...

I think it's... it's my time to...
to go and just let Brooke know

that I'm...
you know, when she's ready,

I'd like to have a chat
on the love seat.

Go up there. Go up there.
OK. Alright.

Good luck.
Yep.
Thank you.

You got it. (LAUGHS)

So, I'm walking up
towards the fire pit...

You go over...
Yeah.

..you go over to her,
bring her over to your love chair...

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey? (LAUGHS)

KONRAD: And all of a sudden, I see
Jess and... and Brooke walking down.

(SIGHS)

You look beautiful.
YOU look beautiful.

Thank you.

KONRAD: And they're heading
towards the back.

I wonder where
Jess is gonna go take a seat.

KONRAD:
And she just takes a hard right

and she's heading
straight for the love seat.

She's so got the love seat.
(BLEEP)!

As I'm walking around the garden,
I noticed Konrad's love seat.

We're doing it.
Over here?
Yes.

Oh, wow!
Uh-oh.

KONRAD: Don't you sit on it.

(GASPS) No!
What?

Oh, my God. She's doing it.

And I took it.

This looks very familiar.
(BOTH LAUGH)

I thought this was Konrad's spot.

It is.
It is?

And I've stolen it.
Oh, my God!

You've fully boycotted his...
I did.

(GASPS) He's not gonna be happy.

KONRAD: Oh, and she sat on it.

Oh, my God, no! (GASPS)
Oh!
She did not!

(BLEEP)!
(GROWLS)

(WOMAN GASPS)

You're kidding me.

OK, wow.

That's meant to be YOUR love chair.

That's (BLEEP).

You are kidding me.

Shots fired.

Bro!

I think everyone was in shock at
the same moment. How disrespectful.

How dare you?
Absolutely how dare you?

I think it's absolutely, like,
disrespectful as hell.

WOMAN: The audacity.
BEAU: Holy shit.

Our faces are, like...

Oh, my God. Oh, my God. She did not.
Oh!

She did not!
Is he OK?

KONRAD: Oh, and she sat on it.

Oh, my God, no! (GASPS)
Oh!
She did not.

OK, wow.
That's meant to be YOUR love chair.

That's (BLEEP).

You are kidding me.

WOMAN: The audacity.

WOMAN 2: Is he OK?

WOMAN 3:
I definitely wasn't expecting that.

I think everyone in the party
felt a little bit sad for Konrad.

I DO feel for him.

Absolutely.
Like, I just think it's shit.

Oh, my God. I feel bad for Konrad.

I feel like he's really upset.
Oh, no.

You reckon she planned that,
had the spot ready?

I think so, 'cause when I asked her,

"Do you know
where you're gonna go," she...

She just, what, lit up?
..she was, like, "Yeah."

What's the point of that?
"I know where I'm gonna go."

She's kind of a bit like that,
a little bit as if there was...

Like, what's the...
..something more to it.

That's not nice.

DARVID: I'm not happy at all
with Jess, because...

..Jess taking Brooke to the
love seat was definitely a dog act.

Konrad. How do you feel about that?
How do I feel about it?

Yeah.
Yeah.

I mean...
oh, just a bit of a respect thing.

KONRAD:
I'm definitely feeling a bit hurt,

'cause it had more meaning
than just being a seat.

It was something that, you know,
we were meant to... to sit on

and create a moment
that we're gonna cherish,

and she's just gone
and tainted that moment, so...

..yeah, I'm not a fan.

You know what,
actually think it would be fitting

if you went over there first,
because it is your chair.

Really?

Definitely.
Yeah.
Make yourself known.

Alright. I'll say something.

(SNIFFS AND EXHALES)

I would... take ownership of it,
you know. Like, reclaim that seat.

Really?
Reclaim it!

He's actually doing it.
What's going on?
Oh, my God, yes.

Uh-oh.
How is it g... "Uh-oh"?

(ALL LAUGH)
How is it? Is it comfy?

It is. Thank you.
Good.

I feel so deceitful.
I'm so sorry, Konrad.

So deceitful? No, it's alright.

I was just gonna say,
I would... like,

would I be able
to have a chat with you on it?

Absolutely.
Sweet.

JESS: I honestly don't think
that I have any regret

that I've stolen
Konrad's time to shine.

You've got to do what you got to do.

And it was sort of
just a... a bit of fun.

No.

(LAUGHS) I don't know.

That's the word
that came to my head.

I'm coming.
Oh, you're coming here?

Yep.
We got to have words with you.

We got to have words.
Oh, guys!

There's controversy.
Come on! Oh, I know. I know.

There's controversy now.
I know.

Was that planned?
Yeah.

(MEN LAUGH)
It is what it is.

Just sort of wanted to...

..to take her somewhere nice.

(LAUGHS) The evil!

KURT:
So it was really surprising to see

that Jess doesn't care about
what she did.

That's disrespect, man.
Massive disrespect.

Oh, well. It... it is what it is.
(LAUGHS)

I couldn't believe it - there was...

..just shock running
through my body more than anything.

Claws are out, eh?
Claws are out.

(LAUGHS) Look, sometimes
you gotta do what you gotta do.

(LAUGHS)

Yeah, right.

KURT: I'm just thinking,
"What the hell?"

Like... I was... (BLEEP)! (LAUGHS)

BROOKE: How you feeling?

I'm a lot better now.
I feel a lot better.

I definitely have my deal of
dramatics with Konrad, because...

..I feel deceitful.

I feel like I did you a dirty,
to be honest.

No, you didn't.
What are you gonna do?

I know. I'm, like, not a...
You weren't gonna be, like... it's...

You know, I kind of, like,
feel a little bit awkward.

Yeah.
"I don't know what to do."

But... you know what? We're here. And
this set-up, right near the tree...

It's not bad, huh?
Trusty old love seat.

The love s...?
Are we calling it the love seat?
Project Love Seat.

I have sketches in my sketchbook.
(GASPS)

It was all... yeah.
It was planned for a while, so...

You planned it for a while?
Yeah.

Konrad. Wow.

But he was such a gentleman about it.

And you look dapper.
Thank you so much.

Not that... you know, the...
little tradie was...

Did you like that?
It was doing it for me.

Really?

BROOKE: So as much as things
didn't go quite to plan,

I do still feel like our love seat
moment was very special.

And we built
a very strong foundation.

Thank you.
Thank YOU.

I did love that.
That was really nice.

I'll walk you over.
(SIGHS)

BROOKE: And although the guys were
a little slow off the mark tonight...

Sorry, I'm nervous.
Why are you nervous?

I don't know.
'Cause you're so good-lookin'.

(LAUGHS) Oh, my God!
(CLEARS THROAT)

Brookie!
BROOKE: How ARE you?

BB.

Go the boys.

BROOKE: ..they are definitely
making up for it now.

The boys are on here.
(ALL LAUGH)

I'm hoping my heartbeat
returns to normal at some stage...

Let me feel it.
..this century.

Yep. That's the same as mine.
Yep? Rapid?

Yep.
Awesome.
Intense.

Sorry to interrupt, guys.

That's alright, man.
Sorry to interrupt.

I know there's a bit of a line
going for you, Brookie.
I know!

I know,
and it's just... it's... it's...

It's chaos!
It is, and it's a dogfight.

I will come find you. I promise.
OK.

This cocktail party
is actually so much fun.

I was already blown away

by the impressions of everyone
on the red carpet,

but even more now after
these chats at the cocktail party.

You rocked up on that lawnmower.
(DARVID LAUGHS)

You had this, like, really glycerine
jacket, which I did not expect,

especially for a lawnmower. (LAUGHS)

I thought that was a good contrast.
Well, I love that.

Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.

You left
a really good impression on me.

That's nice.

There was so much more to everyone
than I anticipated.

You make me actually really nervous.
Why is that?

I don't know.

You make me calm
but equally just as nervous.

That's a good thing.
Yeah.

As soon as I saw you in person,
like, "Oh, my God!"

You're just gorgeous.

You've got beautiful eyes,
a really nice smile, which is...

Stop it.
..breaking me, but...

(LAUGHS) Breaking!
Seriously.

That's... that was my two weaknesses.
I was, like... (EXHALES)

Brooke and I
seem to get along quite easily.

Let me hold your hand.
I want to hold your hand.

We're getting close. She's holding
my hand. It all feels natural.

I really like spending time with you.

Me too.
It's really nice.
Mmm.

My Persian prince.
That'll stick, won't it?

(LAUGHS)
It will stick.

DARVID: It feels like
something out of a fairytale.

So, yeah, I couldn't be happier.

BROOKE: I'm gonna steal Jamie-Lee.

She's got Jamie-Lee.

That is OK with me. (LAUGHS)
(LAUGHS)

Oh!

(BLEEP)!

Heading to the gazebo.

JAMIE-LEE: I'm so happy that Brooke
comes to me first to chat to her.

I'm so happy.
(LAUGHS) YOU say.

JAMIE-LEE: I don't want to start
this off with a target on my back,

so I'm trying my best
in this situation to... to be fair

and respectful of everyone here.

I'm so glad
that you came and got me.

I feel... I don't want to step on
anyone's toes to get time with you.

I know.
Um... yeah.

I...
You've been patiently waiting.

I know. I get it.
(LAUGHS)

I'm, um... I'm so glad
to be here with you, for real.

It was... it... I'm gonna be honest.

It was a complete and utter shock
when I saw you on the red carpet.

It was... such a gamble.

I didn't know
if you would just be, like, "Nuh."

"Nuh. Turn around, bitch." (LAUGHS)
"See ya later. See ya later."

You know, like...
Yeah.

..I didn't know
if you felt the same way about me,

you know, like... there were
so many times in the mansion where

I would, like, want to, like,
sneak over to your bed.

But I just... I didn't know.

It... it was scary, 'cause...

..if I had have put my feelings out
there and you ended up with Nick,

then I would have lost you
as a friend.

I'll be honest with you, Jamie,
like...

..I had feelings for you
in the house.

Just know that.
That's so nice to hear.

But I knew that I was there,
obviously, for Nick.

I was conflicted.
So was I.

JAMIE-LEE: For three years,

I've wondered
if this has been one-sided,

and to hear it come out of her mouth
that she had feelings for me

feels incredible.

I kind of felt like... you know,

it was, like, a bit
of a sliding door moment with us.

Like, it was kind of, like...
Yeah.

..wrong place type thing, you know.

It wasn't the right...

..time or place.

I agree.

Brooke kind of says
that our friendship/relationship

was like a sliding door moment,
you know,

we never were in the same place
at the same time,

and I think that's why
this feels so right, you know.

It's...

..it's just perfect timing.

I'm so glad that you're here.

Because...

..I think you are as beautiful as the
day that I met you, and I think...

You make me giddy, you know that?
(LAUGHS)

Come here. Give me a hug.
I'm so excited.

For real.
Oh! No, like, hug me, like, properly.

Like...

And... (LAUGHS)
..I don't know, it's...

(SIGHS)
..I just really want to kiss her.

BROOKE:
The thought of kissing Jamie-Lee

crossed my mind,
like, four or five times.

(LAUGHS)

Well, it has been a long wait
and it's just so much anticipation.

I know what I want now.

Like, I so know what I want.
I know where I want my future.

And I think that we have
so much in common.

Me too. There's no doubt about that.
Yeah.

BROOKE:
There's a really physical attraction.

There's an emotional attraction.

We've never been able
to, like, actually act on it.

But... I'm here. She's here.
This is our perfect moment.

Why would I not want to go for it?

I wouldn't have been here for
anyone else. Just know that, OK?

I know. I know.
(LAUGHS)

I know.

I'm sorry.

(LAUGHS)

(SIGHS)

BROOKE: Yeah. It was pretty hot.

(LAUGHS)

Oh!

I've been waiting so long
to do that.

I would have done it
on the red carpet if I had, like...

I thought about it.
I thought about it.

I'm feeling so many emotions.
(LAUGHS) So many...

I'm excited. Oh, my God.

Wow.

HOLLY:
Where is she? Where is Brooke?

She's having a chat
with, um, Jamie in the gazebo.

(INDISTINCT CHATTER)

God.

Something special there.

Do you reckon
she's got the white rose?

Yeah.

I mean,
I think Jamie-Lee's... I mean...

Frontrunner?
For white rose, though?

I just don't think that it's fair if
Jamie-Lee, as soon as she walked in,

got the first impression rose.

Well, when...
when you think about it, it's like...

..a bit like... almost like an unfair
advantage, you could say, because...

Yeah.
..technically,
it's not a first impression.

BEC: I'm so interested
to see who gets it.

Yeah, me too.

BEC: Basically, if you get
this first impression rose,

you get the first, first date,

which is massive.

Like, that first date,
that's priceless.

Time is very precious here.

So, I mean, yeah, everyone wants it.

Look, I'd love it.

Everyone wants it.

It's a big deal.
You get a whole day with her.

I mean, everyone has been losing it
over 10 minutes, man.

Mmm.
It'd be sick.

I want it.
Yeah. Me too.

Do you?
Do you think you'll get it or what?

Oh, I think there's
a couple of competitors here, hey?

Yeah. There definitely is.

Oh. Oh, oh.
Oh, oh!

MEN: Ooh!

(GASPS) She has the white rose.
(INDISTINCT CHATTER)

Oh, God.

STEVE: All eyes are on Brooke
walking down the stairs...

No way!

STEVE: ..white rose in hand.

But she walks straight past me
at the fire pit.

Dammit.

It's the girls.

Oh, it's all the girls.
(WOMEN LAUGH)

All of us was hoping
it was gonna be one of the girls.

Who do we think? Who do we think?
To the left. I'm saying Holly.

(EXHALES)

MAN: Carissa?

Wait. Is she gonna go left?
Oh, she's going...

HOLLY:
But then she just spun on her heels

and went over to the boys
off to our left.

(GASPS)

Oh, shit. OK.

I'm gonna say Konrad.

My heart's racing.

(LAUGHS) Oh, my God.

Could be Darvid. Could be Darvid.

Can I steal...

(LAUGHS)

..Darvid?

MEN: Oh!

Yeah, champ.
Yes, buddy!

Yes!
(APPLAUSE)

Darvid!
CONTESTANTS: Yes!

WOMAN: Yes.

Oh, dammit!

I felt like it was gonna be me.

I knew I should have had a mower.
Landscaper.

BEAU: But, like, it's great.
It's a guy.

The guys are off to a...
to a head start.

We're winning, baby.
We're winning. (LAUGHS)

Heart's racing. Yeah.
Really?

Yeah. It is.
(LAUGHS) Oh, my God.

It's fine. Just breathe.
(SIGHS)

So... (SIGHS)

..I guess I should start off by...

..saying...

..I am a really big person
on first impressions.

Mmm.

And...

..you made a very good impression
on me on that red carpet,

a very lasting impression.

Just everything was just... nice.
That's awesome.

(LAUGHS)
Make me feel so calm.

And you came to me
and you said you had three wishes...
Yes.

..and one was that
you were there on that red carpet.

Yep.

So...

..I would like to use
one of those wishes.

Darvid...
Yep?

..will you grant me the wish
and accept this impression rose?

Of course. I will.

Of course.

Love it. Yes, a boy!

DARVID: Sitting on the ride-on mower
with a big smile on my face,

it's all worth it.

Yeah, I'm... I'm excited for the
first date and... and what's to come.

Ride in on a mower
and ride out with a white rose.

MAN: Absolute Persian prince.
(HOLLY LAUGHS)

Fair enough.
Well done.

How good's this?
Man!

Obviously, I would have
really, really seriously loved

to have... have got it.

Oh, that smells like victory
right there.

(LAUGHTER)

But at least it wasn't Jess.
(LAUGHS)

KONRAD: I'm not sure
what Jess's intentions are.

I don't like what she did earlier
with the love seat.

I mean, it shows
the kind of person she is.

So... if she got a rose
over me tonight

would be rubbing salt in the wound,
it would suck.

JESS: I'm hoping
that the fact I was being confident

taking Brooke to the love seat

that I have really shown
what kind of person I am.

I'm not worried about
anyone else's experience in this.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.

Welcome to your first rose ceremony.

Not only your first rose ceremony

but a rose ceremony
that will go down in history.

With both men and women here,

who Brooke chooses to give a rose to
will reflect only one thing -

who it is
she feels a connection with.

And some of you have already made
a strong connection with Brooke.

No more so than Darvid.
(LAUGHS)

Tonight, you are safe.

You'll notice that Jamie-Lee
isn't in the room with us.

She's not feeling well
and won't be joining us.

Brooke has already
guaranteed Jamie-Lee a rose.

This leaves 14 of you without a rose.

And tonight,
Brooke has only 13 roses to give.

I'm sorry, but one of you
will be leaving the mansion tonight.

I wish you all the very best.

Here's Brooke.

KONRAD: Tonight has been
a crazy roller-coaster of emotions.

So, who IS gonna get the first rose?

Holly.

Holly. Will you accept this rose?
Yes.

I would love to. Thank you.
(LAUGHS)

Kurt.

Kurt. Will you accept this rose?

I will.

Carissa.

Carissa. (LAUGHS)
Will you accept this rose?

I'd love to. Thank you.

You ego-builder.

(BOTH LAUGH)

KONRAD: I really hope that Brooke
has seen the true sides of Jess

with what she did earlier.

I feel like it was very calculated.

Ritu.

Oh, God.

KONRAD: She stole my first moment
from me with Brooke.

Taje.

KONRAD: So I think it's
really important I get a rose now.

Beau.

Konrad.

Konrad, will you accept this rose?

Of course I will. I'd love to.
Good. (LAUGHS)

(SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY)

JESS: I'm starting to really wonder

if perhaps
I had done the wrong thing.

Ryan.

Bec.

Matt.

Emily.

JESS: I deserve to stay so that
Brooke can get to know me better

and she can really get to see
the real me.

(SIGHS)

Steve.

Jess.

Jess. Will you accept this rose?

Absolutely.
Thank you.

Johann.

I'm sorry,
but you did not receive a rose.

Could you take the time now
to please say goodbye?

KONRAD: Jess knew
what she was doing. It was hurtful.

I'll always be wary around her.

But at the end of the day,

I'm here for Brooke.

OSHER:
Tomorrow on The Bachelorette...

Today's group date is a photoshoot.

(CHEERING)
(LAUGHS)

Everyone strives for picture-perfect.

(WOMEN SQUEAL)
Ugh!

And history repeats.

Like, can you... scooch over?

You gonna push me out of the seat?
Yeah.

But this time,
Konrad won't back down.

Go big.
You know, you got nothing to lose.

But it's Holly...

..that sees sparks fly...

Oh, my God!

..before a controversial move...

My initial reaction is, "Dick."

..backfires spectacularly.

I'm no longer trusting you.
That is what it is.
