Anything can happen in the

[gunshots zinging]
[Troy groans quickly]
[Atlanta screams]
- Troy!
[somber music]
Troy, why didn't you
wait for us, Troy?
- Atlanta, is he--
- Yes, Phones.
He gave his life for the World
Aquanaut Security Patrol.
[upbeat music]
- Okay, cut.
Gee, that was a great scene.
- Okay, bring forward.
- Wasn't that a great scene,
Mr. Goggleheimer?
- Yah, yah, that was
truly a magnificent scene.
- Gee, those stairs are hard.
- Great, fabulous, even
though I say so myself,
and why shouldn't I?
Ain't I the most talented
new wave Hollywood director?
- How was I, Marty?
- Will someone answer
my question?
- Yes, Marty.
- Yes what?
- You're the most talented
new wave Hollywood director.
- Aw, gee, kid, that's
nice of ya to say so,
but the way you shot Troy,
stupendous.

- And Atlanta, you really
had me crying there,
crying like a newborn babe.
- The way I fell down
those stairs, Marty.
- Phones, you're a
natural actor.

- Will somebody tell me

either you got it or you

[whimsical music]
Oh, that guy's always
slipping off somewhere.
[dramatic music]
[Goggleheimer cackling]
[suspenseful music]
[dramatic fanfare]
- Titan, this is
Surface Agent X-20.
I am ready to receive
your further instructions.
- Has all gone according
to plan so far?
- Yes, mighty Titan.
Disguised as Mr. Goggleheimer
the film producer,
I have free access to
Marineville.
- Good, then your task should
be comparatively simple.
- Nothing could be easier,
great Titan.
Troy Tempest is as good as dead.
[dramatic music]
- But you don't seem to realize
that I was the only one who
didn't pass a screen test.
- Don't worry, Troy.
- Don't worry!
Mr. Goggleheimer, whoever he is,
puts up the money to make
a movie about Stingray
and I'm not even gonna be in it.
- Hi, can I come in?
- Hi, Phones, grab
yourself a drink.
- Would you like to hear me say,

- Don't tell me your jealous,

- Has anybody heard
who's gonna play the part

Marineville.
- Personally, I've never
seen anything so childish
in my whole life.

- Well, folks, here he is
in person, Johnny Swoonara.
[dramatic music]
- Johnny!
- Say, would you like to
meet him, girls?

Atlanta and Marina.

[birds chirping]

Okay, folks, we start
shooting tomorrow.

first shots on the screen.
[dramatic music]

- A mechanical fish
from Titanica is approaching
Marineville, sir.
- Order Stingray to intercept.
- [Atlanta] Intercept
enemy vessel.
- EWOR.
- Distance closing, 1,700
yards, 1,600, 1,500.
20,000, 1,300.
Stand by to fire.
1,100, 1,000.
- Not too close, Troy.
- Don't worry about me, Atlanta.
- We're closing fast.
- Prepare Sting missiles.
[missile whooshes]
[explosion booms]
- Great picture.
- Yah, yah, a quiet picture.
- Sting missile two ready.
- Okay, fire.
[explosion booms]
- Didn't I tell you this was
gonna be a great picture?
Okay, everybody,
back on the set.
- [Man] Shooting bell.
[bell rings]
Quiet, please, we're rehearsing.
- And now there's one
or two things
I wanna explain
about this scene.
Oh, and by the way,
Johnny, you were fabulous.
[whimsical music]
[Troy scoffs]
Okay, then, you get the idea?
- [laughs] I get the picture.
- [yawns] Pardon me.
- Oh, I'd like you to see
this, Mr. Goggleheimer.
Uh, Mr. Goggleheimer,
oh, say, where is he?
- He was behind me a minute ago.
[suspenseful music]
- Troy!
[lights thudding]
- Atlanta, is he?
[dramatic music]
- Thanks for yelling, Atlanta.
At least I managed to get
partly out of the way.
- You sure you're okay?
- Yeah.
- Say, it wasn't an accident.
This rope has been cut.
- Say, Goggleheimer was
standing there.
Come on, let's go.
You coming, Marina, Atlanta?
- No, Troy, we'd better
stay with Johnny.
He was kinda shaken up.
- Hmm.
Hey, you, come back here.
- We can go after him
in Johnny's car.
- Feeling any better, Johnny?
- Thanks, girls.
I guess you pulled me through.
[engine whirring]
[dramatic music]
- He's heading out to sea, Troy.
- Yeah, towards the
island of Lamoy.
- He's gone onto the island.
- Good, we'll catch him now.
We seem to have lost him.
- Well, let's try that way.
I'm sorry, Troy, I was
sure he came this way.
- Well, the only place
he coulda been making for
is that old house.
Let's try there.
[suspenseful music]
Well, let's see what we
can find out.
[bell ringing insistently]
[seagulls squawking]
- Ah, gentlemen, do come in.
It's not often that I
have visitors.
[suspenseful music]
- No sign of Goggleheimer, Troy.
- Just as I said, gentlemen,
there's nobody in the house
except me and I've
heard nothing.
- Ah, he must've
doubled 'round Lamoy
and headed back to the mainland.
- Well, thanks for
all your help.
- I'm only sorry I couldn't
have been more assistance.
Come, I'll show you out.
- Goodbye.
- Thanks.
- Goodbye, gentlemen.
[dramatic music]
- Guess we'd better get back.
Marina and Atlanta will
be worrying about us.
[laughs maniacally]
[upbeat dance music]
- I think it'll be a
wonderful movie, Johnny.
- Just a few shots of Stingray
tomorrow and we're finished.
- What say we have a big party,
huh?
Just the three of us.
- Johnny.
- I don't want
to lose track of you, Atlanta.
- Oh.
- How about paying me a little
visit in Hollywood, hmm?
[Atlanta sighs]
[birds chirping]
Say, Marina, why don't you come
and look me up in Hollywood,
hmm?
[birds chirping]
- [laughs] Oh, gee, Johnny,
every time you talk to a dame,
they pass out.
- Yeah [laughs], great,
isn't it?
[dramatic music]
- Well, just a few more shots
and the movie's finished.
- Well, I can't say I'm sorry.
- Sure a funny business,
that Goggleheimer running out
and trying to kill ya, Troy.
- Yeah, but what really killed
me was that nobody cared,
once they realized that
he left enough money
to finish the film.
Oh, well, guess I'll turn in.
- They're taking Stingray out
on location tomorrow, Troy.
You'd better go with him.
- Do I have to, sir?
Phones can handle it.
I just couldn't stand being
cooped up with that Johnny guy.
- [laughs] Alright, Troy,
Phones can handle it.
I guess it's not as though
we're expecting trouble.
- Idiot, you've spent
millions of dollars
setting up a film so
that you can kill Tempest
and now you tell me
you've failed?
- I can, I can explain, Titan.
- I don't want your
explanations.
- Mighty Titan, I beg
your forgiveness.
I will do anything you say
to make up for this
bungling of mine.
- Ah, you will do anything.
Very well, X-20, you will
take your underwater craft
and attack Stingray.
- Stingray, no, no, no,

You will attack tomorrow.
[dramatic music]
[triumphant music]
[water gurgling]
- [clears throat] How do
I look? Is my hair okay?
- Fine, Johnny, you
look just great.
- [Johnny] Stingray to tower,
are we clear to leave
Marineville?
- Clear to go.
- Clear to go, Stingray.
[dramatic music]
- Stingray to tower, seaborne.
We'll be ready to start
filming in a few minutes.
[peaceful music]
- Good, they have not
detected me.
Stingray without Troy
Tempest aboard
will be a sitting target.
Now just a little closer.
- Okay, Johnny, I'm starting
the remote film cameras.
We'll get some great
shots of ya.
[Troy scoffs]
[dramatic music]
- 500 yards.
- [Marty] Okay, Johnny,
your camera's rolling.
Now make like you're in complete
control of the situation.
- Fire.
[explosion booms]
- What's gone wrong?
[metal clanging]
What's going on?
- Tower from Stingray, we've
been hit, we're under attack.
- Under attack?
- Phones, are you--
- I'll take it, Atlanta.
What's happened, Phones?
- I can't hold her.
The control gear's smashed.
Marina's operating the pumps.
- Get Johnny to help you.
- He can't, he's gone to pieces.
- I don't have to put
up with this.
It's not in my contract.
- Stay with it, Phones.
I'm coming out there to join ya.
[dramatic music]
- Stingray is out of control.
Without Troy Tempest, they'll
never get out of there alive.
Titan from X-20,
returning to base,
mission completed.
- [Johnny] Oh, no, oh [sobbing],
oh, dear.
- If anything happens to Johnny,
I'll sue you for every
cent you've got.
- Oh, why don't you shut up
about your precious Johnny.
- Listen, underwater dame,
I own 55% of this guy.
- Oh, shut up.
Commander, Troy's in the
launch tunnel.
[dramatic music]
[moves into high-speed
suspenseful music]
Troy's on his way now, Phones.
- He better be quick.
I can't hold her much longer.
- Phones, what's your position?
- About 1,000 yards from
the ocean door.
- Open the airlock.
Troy'll be with you
any minute now.
- [sighs] He's done it, Father.
Troy's made it.
- Johnny, you made it.
- The name's Troy,
Captain Troy Tempest.
Now pull yourself together.
Switch to dynamic stabilizers.
- Yes, sir.
- Check trim.
- Checking trim.
- Two degrees, left left.
- I wanna go back to
making Westerns.
- Marineville, this is Stingray.
Everything under control,
returning to Marineville.
[dramatic music]
- Well, girls, the
movie's finished.
Now for a big party.
- Oh, we're busy, aren't we,
Marina?
Sorry, lover boy.
- Shall we go?
- Say, what's he got that
I haven't got?
- Courage, lover boy,
just courage.
- Hmph.
- Troy Tempest.
[birds chirping]
