SpyGames (2003–…): Season 1, Episode 1 - The Secret History of History - full transcript

60 seconds you have
to get out of there.

Oh, !

To be honest, I really
don't know what a spy does.

What is... what's the thing
called with the grappling hook?

Trapeze?
You know, when batman's like...

oh, my god.

Ten daring individuals...

Holy.

Have come to live
out their spy fantasies

and try to beat the ultimate
game of espionage.

Based on a real world war ii
secret spy program

called "station s,"
where america recruited

civilians to a remote estate
and turned them into spies.

My dream is a life of danger,

espionage, and bond women.

I do tend to work well with
people who have crushes on me.

Our competitors
will live together

and try to uncover the secrets

their fellow
players are keeping.

- I got secrets galore.
- The fact that I was accused

for racketeering
is dust in the wind.

- No one... ing trusts you...
- Yeah.

At all.

You're literally going
to walk out with ptsd.

Hopefully not, but it's...
It's a distinct possibility.

In this game, they will need
to survive missions created

by three renowned
intelligence professionals.

You don't wanna
be holding classified

information you shouldn't have.

My justification
for that was that I fully...

there is no
justification for that.

They will be trained
in the art of espionage.

George, what direction
was the compass pointing?

You don't remember.

And have their mental...

What the
are you doing?

And physical capabilities
pushed to the limit.

In the end, only one
will take home $100,000.

A leader's gonna

win this money.
Don't let people crush you.

- I think we need some help.
- Let's get a medic over here.

These are
good-looking people.

There must be
a reason why I'm here.

This is a game
and I intend to win.

I am mia kang
and this is "spy games."

whoa!

Go straight,
we're gonna go straight.

All right,
there's our shed, guys.

You'll be camping
here tonight.

Items to help you through
the night are in this shed.

If you wanna do the fire,

you have to grab
the... ing wood.

Whose idea was it to put
a bunch of women in gala

dresses and send them
down to the woods?

- Can we... listen...
- Grab one more thing...

Can we exchange
the sleeping bag for the...

I don't understand
what the hell this has

to do with spies, all right?

- Wait a minute, wait a minute.
- Wait, wait, wait, wait.

Welcome to "spy games."

you're all here because
you've always imagined

what it would
be like to be a spy.

I hope you're ready.
We'll provide the teachers

and the training to find
out if you have what it takes

to succeed in
the world of espionage.

This is a game for you to play,

and one of you will
be declared the winner

and awarded $100,000.

This is what it's like
to be a spy, you know?

I'm dressed in a ball gown
in a dank warehouse.

I am a former middle
school chinese teacher,

but my dream is
a life of danger,

espionage, and bond women.

I would love,
I would love if a cia agent

wants to try to put me
through an interrogation

and waterboard me.

As you play this game,
you will be assessed

by the world's most astute

spy masters and spy catchers.

Former fbi,
dr. Erroll solthers.

This is evy poumpouras,
former secret service.

And doug laux,
former cia case officer.

I'm looking at the assessors
and here's doug

and I'm thinking,
it's like crocodile dundee.

This is a guy
who's sleeping in, like,

the bottom of an oil tank.

Right, and plotting
what he's gonna do next.

I'm thinking... I got... ing
nothing in common with that.

Is everyone ready
for their first mission?

- Yep.
- Yes.

- Oh yeah.
- Absolutely.

We told you guys
to get dressed up for

a gala affair.

However, there's a catch.

The party isn't until tomorrow.

And it's gonna take
a little bit of hard work

for you to get there.

Is this the real world?

Are they going to go
fight terrorism worldwide?

No, I understand that.
But, nonetheless,

this is called, "spy games,"
and if you're going to win

the game, I'm gonna put
you through some hell.

- This is exciting.
- You know, to me,

this is taking what I do
and going to a different yard.

I wanna have fun with this.

In'

- can you grab that corner?
- Mm-hmm.

And just pop it into
the little end hook thingy.

- Yeah.
- That's...

careful, honey.

- This is glamping.
- I don't know about that.

This is literally glamping.

Look at us.

I've never seen
james bond camp.

He stays in five-star hotels

drinking champagne, okay?

The first mission that we're
sending the competitors on,

they're thinking,
"we're going to a gala."

we're gonna look beautiful,
maybe have a couple drinks...

Wrong.

It's introducing them
to a high level of stress

from the jump-off.

I just saw
a monstrous spider.

- Oh, gross.
- Monstrous.

The reasoning
behind that is this.

Let's say that evening
you have some ball,

but then two hours prior
to that, you get a phone call

from one of your sources
who says, "I have this"

"stolen intelligence
to give you.

Come meet me in the woods."

how am I going to do both?

Clearly, I don't
wanna get muddy.

Clearly, I don't want
to tear my tuxedo.

There's a thousand things
I don't want to happen,

but if it does, how am I
going to then explain it away?

At this stage, the competitors
have had no training.

What I'm looking for
more than anything is...

Will they adapt?

I could use a cigar
and some bourbon right now.

Next time I'll
wear better shoes.

This is probably the absolute
best competition for me.

When I was in elementary
school, I was diagnosed

as being high-functioning
autistic.

I am able to figure
things out very quickly.

I notice patterns.

There are five blankets, guys.

Hopefully they
don't have smallpox.

I'm a little bit
of a... a vigilante.

At any given moment I
have 10 to 12 different

fake personas on the internet

that I'm using.
Uh, catfishing, trolling...

It's more of, like,
to be a hero either for

myself or someone else.

This game is essentially
what I have been practicing

my entire life.

And now I'm doing
it for 100 grand.

- So you're a doctor?
- Md, phd?

- Are you a surgeon?
- Chiropractor?

They already know that I'm a
doctor, so now they're trying

to figure out what
kind of doctor I am.

And so I'm trying
to be funny and deflective.

- I cannot confirm nor deny.
- Maybe he's a dentist.

He's not a dentist.

Oh, she just
dissed your teeth, man.

And I say, "well, you know,
maybe I'm a proctologist."

I'm just an expert
in all you assholes."

and...

I thought that
was pretty funny.

They didn't.

I'm actually... I'm
a prison psychologist.

I've been doing this
for about 19 years.

I work with
murderers and con men.

All that time,
you pick up some things

about how people work.

I wanna see how
the things that I've learned

can translate into this.

They don't know that I'm
gonna get inside their head.

And I'm gonna have this person
thinking they're that person

and that person
thinking that one.

And next thing you know,
they're all gonna be

ing crazy.

I'll just sit back
eating some liver

with some fava beans
and a nice chianti.

Not that I rehearsed
that or anything.

We gave everyone a dossier
for gathering intelligence.

This whole life is about
gathering information.

Let me fix it, guys.

- Dr. Mitch.
- There we go.

That's all tradecraft:
How to elicit information

from someone,
how to manipulate someone

without them knowing
that you're doing it.

If you know more about
your competitors than they

know about you,
then you could win this game.

So, george,
where you from, george?

I'm from houston, texas.

I was born in brooklyn,
grew up in queens,

went to high school
in manhattan...

No one is taking this
as seriously as I am.

They're telling where
they're from and what they do.

But, like, you know,

I'm not just gonna
give that up night one.

Like, oh, please.
Buy me dinner first.

As a law student, I feel
very comfortable with reading.

To prepare for this
competition, I googled,

"what a spy has to know,"
and I ordered all of the books.

So I have books on ciphers,

I have books on
how to detect lying,

I have books on
military strategies, um...

I had more books.
What were my books?

I had a lot of books.

Hey, saif, can you
pass the water, please?

- Sure, absolutely.
- Yeah, saif,

you're kind of quiet.

- Join the conversation.
- It's family time.

You're my middle
eastern brother.

I'm a first generation
american iranian,

but after 9/11,
I was severely bullied.

When you're 12,
you don't realize

or understand why people
are calling you a terrorist.

You're, like...

I'm going home
to watch "pokémon."

what do you mean, like,
what's a terrorist?

I am, like, a seriously
super nerd gamer.

I'm constantly pulling
together simulations,

outcomes, thinking
ten moves ahead.

So I'm gonna win
this gala mission.

Perfect.

God, I'm so
curious what this gala

thing is going to look like.

I'm hungry, I didn't sleep...

One of my contact lenses
is somewhere in my eye.

- Morning.
- Good morning.

- Yeah, how you feeling?
- Trying to wake up.

You'll get there.

And we're going to a gala.

Can I see the, uh, rules?

"Extraction vehicle will
pick you up and take you

"to your gala event.
Once there, your mission

"is to establish a connection
and get their phone number.

"you will get positive marks
if the person gives you

"their number without
you having to ask for it.

"When the party is over,
your mission is over.

Phone number
or no phone number."

so what's your guys'
strategy for our smell?

- What smell?
- The one you're gonna notice

when we get around
people who have showered.

As a spy, you have
to be able to walk into

a room and adapt
to the people around you.

If you're uncomfortable,
you're not going to be

able to influence other people

or get the things
you want from them.

And remember what makes
it harder for the competitors:

They're walking in dirty,
disheveled, and smelly.

We're looking at how quickly
do you come up with your plan?

How do you carry yourself?

Are you going to be
ostentatious and draw

all this attention
to yourself or do you go in,

complete your
mission and leave?

We can figure out what
type of personality you have

just from that one assignment

of telling you,
"go get me a phone number."

is it the best
I've ever looked?

No, definitely not.

Aw, thanks.

But am I passable?
Yeah.

Yeah, you can't
fake bone structure.

My strategy heading into
this gala is to take note

of whose eyes I catch,
who seems friendly

and, superficially,
seems interested.

I have a... a certain...
Look that...

I've been told
it's... Noteworthy.

I'm colin.

Taylor, you look amazing.

Nice to meet you as well.

I hope I'm not stepping on
someone's toes by saying that.

I'm the fattest guy here,
I'm the oldest guy here.

But I also have wisdom.
So I think that I have

an advantage over people with
regards to social intelligence.

- Hello, how are ya?
- Good, I'm thirsty.

What's the plan?
Go to the bar.

I was looking for
a little bourbon and coffee,

not necessarily in that order.

I do well at bars.

One, two... patrón?

Four, apparently.
Five? Five?

Do we have five?

This does not pull people in.

My mouth does, not my face.

- I'm a model.
- I'm not.

All the rest
of that good stuff.

Clink, clink, clink,

clink, clink.
I don't know

if I'm old enough
for this show,

but it sounds good.

Wait, wait, wait,
what's your names?

- Megan.
- Megan.

Am I allowed to touch this?

What spy do you
ever see in any movie

doing rounds of shots?

You're wondering why you're
not in this party, right?

It's just... Dumb.

Can I just have
one more... one more?

All right.
Ramon, another round!

Coming up...

- You with sck?
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.

If someone catches me
in a lie,

I might get thrown
out of the event.

You're burnt,
you're done, you're useless.

- Where's my dossier?
- I had it with me,

but now it's gone.
Gone.

I am livid.

The competitors are
at an event put on by

a local modeling agency.

They need to get a number.

This is a cakewalk.

Let's just see
how you do it, though.

Will they blend in?

Are they going
to be able to lie?

Best is if the person
you're talking to

offers it to you
without you even asking.

So I did three weeks
in africa pretty recently.

And I lived in
china for a long time.

I feel like I haven't slept
in a week and all of a sudden

you have to get this
adrenaline rush back,

so my strategy is to get

in and get out as
quickly as possible.

I just really
love your dress.

- You do?
- So I'm actually

- a clothing designer.
- Oh, cool.

Yeah, I'm too short
to wear my own stuff.

Oh, really?

So you liked it,
I was like, "cool."

- yeah.
- So, like... yeah.

Within seconds I have
these two young girls

just eating out of
the palm of my hand.

- Alabama?
- Nicest people from alabama,

especially auburn
university, right?

Is that...
oh, my gosh.

Are you guys... are you really?

Like, here, why don't you...

Within a couple of seconds,
I got their phone numbers

and I'm, like...
That was... that was too easy.

And I love it, you guys
just have such fresh faces.

By the way, somebody needs
to tell those two young girls

not to just, like,
listen to random strangers

and give out their
freaking phone number.

Unbelievable!

It was really
great meeting you.

So nice to meet you.

This is way too easy.

I think I can do this
without having to ask.

So I'm gonna try again.

Today's still Tuesday, right?

I got in Sunday, so I'm,
like, sort of mixed up.

- Okay, yeah.
- You're gorgeous.

Would you like to hear
from me while I'm in atlanta

or when I get back to new york?

- Done.
- Mission accomplished.

- At the bar.
- At the bar?

Oh, we were
shooting a music video.

It was kind of crazy, yeah.

Can I get you
something to drink?

I instantly know that
I'm not about to assume

the role of any sort
of music video producer.

That's not me.
But, I do consider

myself a pretty
suave and social guy,

so I feel like I'm gonna
fit right in with this group.

- It's packed.
- So packed.

Squeezing through.

How did y'all end up
here on a Tuesday?

Nice.

It's... It's not easy,
um, but finally

I spot my mark,
and I go in for the kill.

Excuse me, sir.

Looking dapper,
crutches and all.

- Thanks.
- How'd it happen?

Uh... Yeah.

Yikes, that's...
That's an answer.

Uh...

Bad question.

Yeah, we're all born
with something, right?

- Something.
- Yeah.

For this gala,
you just need to be

as natural as possible.

Niki?

Nice to meet you.

Don't be eccentric
and don't be the creepy guy.

Just... Be cool.

Um...

Yes, I am.

Usually I'm not a good liar.

I, honestly, I feel

very guilty if I lie.

But when there's $100,000
on the line, I'm gonna lie

as much as I gotta lie.

As a kid,
I was constantly in trouble.

And I ended up
going to prison.

But, eventually, I started
to turn my life around.

And now that I am a mother,

I wanna use the prize money
to send my son to college.

So the 100 grand would change
me and my family's life.

I'm here working
with the agency.

- Oh, nice.
- Doing modeling

and stuff, yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

- You're gonna lose that.
- Girl, I'm not gonna lose it.

- I can give you my info.
- I don't have, uh...

Yeah.

I was trying to get
a gym membership,

but I don't really
know where to go.

I'm here for a month.

I have two numbers already,
but I wanna get

a number without
having to ask.

I'm a triathlete, I need some...

do you wanna go?

That spins off...

Into a plank battle.

You're gonna lose!

Oh, man, this really burns.

I don't know what
the hell she's thinking.

It's working to some effect,

I just don't think
it's what the assessors want.

- Whoo!
- Oh, my god, it burns.

- Can you explain that to me?
- 'cause I don't understand.

Oh, my god.

Oh, man, this really burns.

Fine.

I got two more phone numbers

without me having to ask.

Now do you trust me?
We're gonna party now?

Perfect.

You've gotta do what
you've gotta do

to achieve the mission.

Whoo.

- How's it going?
- Good.

- Thank you.
- Rented tux.

I really want
to impress the assessors,

so I don't just wanna
get one phone number.

I want the phone numbers
of every single

person in that gala.

I cannot lie, I don't lie.
This is gonna be hard.

I never lied to my
parents growing up.

Um, because I was
an only child,

my mom was my best friend.

And, like, we even planned
losing my virginity together.

Like, she knew, like,
four months in advance.

I only have a couple
of tickets left,

a few complimentary
tickets for our raffle later.

- Here you go.
- Oh, this is for our raffle.

Yep, complimentary
raffle tickets.

Here you go.

This is a sketchy,
janky raffle.

I'm using my clutch...
Good luck!

As a place for people to stick
their phone numbers in.

- Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- We're the event staff.

If someone
catches me in a lie,

then I might get
thrown out of the event.

I just wanna get out with my
numbers while it's still safe.

Just, like, third
party outsourced

promo models, so, yeah.

Have a great night!

Still waiting on one?

- Um... Yes.
- Jeez.

The clock is running out.
And then I look around

and everyone else is...
They're gone.

I'm actually in town
planning an event, um...

I, uh, I don't have my
phone or anything on me.

Okay, perfect.

Cool.

Just fell in my lap.

Shake and bake.

There's enough room on
here for a lot of people.

I'll put my number on there.

I have four women's numbers.

I barely asked for anybody's.

Did anyone take a picture?

Over here.

Good?

I hit this out the park.

I'm gonna put it on,
uh, social media.

- I killed it.
- I'm the mvp.

It's hot in there, man.

We're heading into
an assessment,

which is kind of crazy.

We're all exhausted,
we're drained, and now

we have no idea
what's going to happen.

Welcome to your
first assessment.

you started this game.

And by the end of the night,
one of you will be going home.

We will be assessing
the skills we've seen so far.

And your fate will
be determined tonight.

At this point,

the competitors have had
no training.

What I'm looking for more than
anything is character.

And do they have
the potential?

Has anyone ever
heard of the term,

"being the gray man"?

Explain, saif.
What is... what is the gray man?

- That's it.
- The ability to blend

could be mission critical.

Colin, you were in and out.

I almost didn't even
recall if you were there.

And he went in,
and he got his numbers

without even asking for it.

Then he walked out.

- Total success.
- Thank you, sir.

In espionage, we have a set
of methods called gambits

that we use to get secrets
out of our advesaries.

Chelsey, walk us through
what your gambit was.

Coming into this,
I prepared a plan,

which was using my
clutch as a raffle box.

I also brought my dossier
with me and I pretended

I was event staff to have
an air of authority.

To me, that's all ingenuity.

- I have to agree.
- Did she get the job done?

She got 13 numbers.

She got more
than anyone else.

Actually, it was 14.

Wow.

And I only stopped
because I ran out of paper.

Okay.

Who thinks they
didn't blend in well?

Have you ever done
planks when you've done

- your undercover work?
- Oh, yeah,

I used to do
planks all the time.

Do you do planks
when you go undercover?

We all missed that day
at undercover training.

I... I can explain
the plank-off.

I'd love to hear it.

The guy mentioned
that he owned a gym

and I was just kind of like,
"oh, I'm, like, athletic,"

and somebody said, "prove it."

you drew a ton
of attention to yourself.

At that point...

You're burnt,
you're done, you're useless.

- You're blown.
- You put on a show

and everybody saw you
and they will remember you.

And you stood out.

This is "spy games."
you have to think like a spy.

Get your head in the game.

Which brings us to mitch.

Talk to us.
You took a photo with,

what, what was it?
Five or six different women?

- At least.
- No, it was, like, ten.

You think, maybe, if you're,
I don't know, spies...

You shouldn't be, like,
"hey, right here."

where are those photos now?

Clink, clink, clink,
clink, clink.

Did anyone take a picture?

I'm gonna put it
on social media.

I'm starting to realize...

I don't really know
a lot about spies.

You can talk to people.

You were working
everybody in that environment.

The only thing is you
used it in a negative way

because it drew so
much attention to you.

George.

You seemed to be missing
a few things today.

What's going on?
Where's the tie?

I decided to go
in without a tie because

I just want the assessors
to know that I'm not

being molded
like a toy soldier.

The tie went away during
the black tie affair.

I felt like I was...
where's the dossier?

Uh... The dossier's
in the car.

I've been, uh,
taking mental notes

on the rest
of my competitors here.

Yesterday when we met,
I only gave all of you

one thing:
Your dossier.

And the fact
that it's not here

is extremely problematic.

What happens when you're
in another country and lose

your passport or you're
in the bureau and you

lose your credentials?

That's unforgiveable.

Assessors.

Please take a moment
to select this mission's

highest performer,
as well as the bottom two

that you would like
to further interrogate.

Let's huddle up.

Assessors,
who was the top

performer for this mission?

It was a tough decision.

Colin.

You adapted well
and at the gala,

you truly were the gray man.

I'm stoked to be
named top performer.

It's what I expected of myself,

especially given
what the mission was.

I think I looked pretty
good in the tux and that was...

Echoed by a bunch of people.

For one competitor,

"spy games" will end tonight.

Two of you will be selected
for further interrogation

and one of you
will be dismissed.

Nika...

Mitch.

You two have been singled out

for further interrogation.

For the rest of you,
please load up into the suv.

You'll be taken to the house,
where you will live for

the duration of the game.

Take a seat at the table.

Nika, when you
went to the party,

you were very overt,
attracted a lot of attention

to yourself, to the point
where you got into planks.

Mitch, you as well attracted
a lot of attention to yourself,

then you posted
this large group photo.

And actually,
you stayed the longest

out of everybody at that event.

You two became
totally compromised because

they remember who you are.

My mentality going in
is that no one's gonna be

giving a phone number
to a wallflower.

But I did have the notion
that I was not gonna

have a drink and that I was
not gonna take any pictures

or get posted on social media.

And I mean business.

No, I don't know
how to make a fire,

but I made sure that any
skill that I did not learn

or understand,
I collected all the tools

to continue to practice
in this journey.

Direction, fire.

I'll do whatever it takes.

- Mitch, why are you here?
- What is your motivation?

What do you get out of this?

I think I'm really
good at reading people.

And the challenge of being
able to take the skills

I have and apply them to
a similar but very different

field and see whether
or not I can adapt.

You consumed all
those alcoholic beverages

and that's the one thing
that will get you...

Gone.

I was as sharp
as when I walked in.

I went in trying to get
information and I think

I was successful in
getting information.

More information
than other people.

Nika, why do you
deserve it over mitch?

I believe that I have
the mind-set and the ability

to go farther than
mitch in this game.

I have walked through fire,

I have been judged,
mischaracterized,

accused of things.

And even through all that

I've beaten all the odds.

Mitch, why do we
choose you right now?

Because I'm calm and I'm
listening to your questions

and my voice is not breaking.

What makes you
better than her?

I believe I'm more
emotionally balanced than her.

Have you heard enough?

Nika, mitch, please step out
while the assessors deliberate.

Thank you.

Never call a woman
emotionally unbalanced.

Please.

I wasn't talking
about a woman,

I was talking about you.

Your voice was breaking.

Yes and that's passion.

I think it looked desperate.

And I am a woman.

- Proud.
- Okay.

Proud.

But I do respect your game.

Holy sh...

- Honey, I'm home!
- Wow.

- Oh.
- Damn, girl.

- Wow.
- Ooh.

- Where's this kitchen?
- 'cause I'm starving.

Dude.

This house is like
a game board.

This is where we play.

This is where
private meetings,

alliances, everything
is gonna go down.

And I think all of that
could play to my advantage.

We'll do another one.

Guys!

They both made
a spectacle of themselves.

Mitch clearly went overboard.

And then you've got nika.

She knew she was
finished when we told

her that plank was stupid.

I have to say,
I feel like she's invested.

She was like a dealer.
She's like, boom, compass,

boom... I was just like, whoa.

Guys, drama queen, like...

I'm sorry, like,
dumping that out like that

and presenting it to me like
it's a blackjack game...

He's not adapting.

This is not someone
who wants to learn.

She does.

But what about his composure?

Because he did highlight that.

- That's not composure.
- That is indifference.

But to his credit, mitch

showed a lot of ingenuity.

I didn't come here
to leave right away.

I know I'm smarter
and better than 99%

of the people here.
And I'm certainly more

emotionally evolved than nika.

You're gonna tell me that
if you're in a situation

where there's chaos,
you're gonna want her over me?

I don't think so.

Have you made your decision?

I think we have.

- Agreed.
- Yeah.

You both drew unnecessary
attention to yourselves

in a covert mission.

In the end,
we believe one of you

shows more promise
than the other.

Mitch, you're dismissed.

Mitch, hand over
your dossier.

It will be passed
on to a fellow competitor

of your choosing.

You must leave the blacksite
immediately and head out.

"Spy games" is over for you.

Thank you.

Nika, you're still
in the game.

You've lived to fight
another day.

Join the others back
at your new home.

- Thank you guys.
- I will not be here next week.

I hope not.

Being a little bit
older and more mature,

I thought that I
maintained poise and that was

a characteristic
that they would value.

But I also tripped up in ways
that were non-recoverable.

So I have to accept that.

I'm really tired
and wanna shower.

Like, really, just...
I know...

- I know.
- We're all bad on that.

- Can I scooch in here?
- Yeah.

Thank you.

Yeah, I find
chelsey attractive.

I think it'd be silly
if somebody didn't

find chelsey attractive.

Looks like, uh,
colin and brock over here

about to play some pool.

I wanna hop in
the swimming pool.

Or do.

I'm prepared to break
george's heart if I have to.

As soon as I don't
really need george anymore,

I'm fine with being like,

"okay, george,
it's time to go,"

and doing whatever I can
to get him out of the game.

- How did they find you?
- Coworker referred me.

- Coworker.
- Shout out to dovanie!

This is gonna get
aggressively difficult.

Not the pool.

- There's another bottle.
- Let's go to the hot tub.

Just an idea.

If I'm being honest, um...

If I have a weakness,
that is it... maybe, yeah.

So I'm hoping that... That
doesn't become a distraction.

Hello?

- Oh!
- Hey!

Oh, my god.

I hug you.

Nobody showered
while I was gone?

I am absolutely ecstatic

when I see nika walk
through that door.

It means our original
network... myself, brock,

christina, nika, and saif
is still intact.

I'm surprised
because I thought mitch was

the stronger competitor.
I don't know nika well,

but, you know,
someone that planks in a bar...

You gotta wonder.

Mitch really threw a punch.

He commented that he was
more emotionally stable

and that's why he
deserved it more than me.

Do you think that was
the final nail in his coffin?

Like, did the judges react
really poorly to what he said?

- I have no idea.
- It could've been anything.

I don't know these girls
at all but I do know that I've

been clocking chelsey
and I don't trust her.

She watches everybody
all the time.

She moves a lot
like a cop to me.

If anybody's gonna sniff me
out, it's gonna be chelsey.

She's gotta go.

In the field a dead drop
is a method of passing

secret information
between individuals.

Whoa.

There's me!

For the purposes
of this competition,

the competitors will need
to check these boxes every day.

- Oh!
- I got it open without...

- How did you do that?
- No, this.

- Oh... hey!
- Go team.

- Wow.
- Yeah, look at it.

What is it?

Can I come in?

Ooh, this is super cool.

I think I have
mitch's dossier.

I didn't know that people
could leave their dossiers.

Oh. My. Gosh.

I see that charnel's
being a little careless

with her dossier.

And I want that intelligence.

Charnel?

- You want me to shut your box?
- Yes, can you?

So I put my folder on hers

to see if she notices.

It's not about hurting
her or anybody else.

It's about me just
trying to survive.

I'm gonna do what
it takes to win.

Oh, my gosh.

I put my folder down

and there's charnel's dossier.

And I don't understand why.

Charnel's being a little
careless, but these dossiers

are important
and anything goes.

'Cause if I get into
the bottom two again,

I'm definitely gone.

Read it, read it.

Okay.

"You will figure out
which secrets above belong

"to which competitor.
This information will play

an important part in
the final stages of this game."

we gave them a list
of secrets about each other.

And told them
to figure out which secret

belongs to which competitor.

It'll be interesting to see
how they all adapt to this.

Gathering intelligence
as a spy... it's the most

important thing you're
ever going to do.

- Not a u.S. Citizen.
- That's interesting.

I live in
jacksonville, florida,

but I was born
in baghdad, iraq.

I decided to join
the u.S. Army

as a translator
and interpreter.

I had to get very
sensitive information

from people I never met before.

I learned that the best way
to do that was to build

an emotional connection
with the person.

And then you can get
the information you need.

Someone has
the nickname dr. Death.

I heard someone say
dr. Death at one point.

Was accused of racketeering.

I was accused
of racketeering.

Now, I've done many things in
my life that I shouldn't have

and I've definitely
broken the law,

but I never had anything
to do with racketeering.

I was innocent
and I genuinely was.

I would tell you because...

I got enough
stuff that I've done.

Was a competitive fighter.

"Who is it?"
it's... it's me.

I was a taekwondo tournament

fighter up until
I was in my 20s.

I keep my black belt
sitting above my dresser.

It's still there.

Has been banned
from a popular dating site.

I got kicked off of tin...

I got... I got
banned from tinder.

But I promise, nothing creepy.
Nothing creepy.

Speaks fluent mandarin.

What if one person
did all of this?

Damn, what a life.

All right, so...

- Exactly.
- The key might

have to be turned, too.

- So turn the key...
- I tried both ways...

It's not... see, it's not...

nobody's really
looking, so...

I just... I take it.

- I tried both ways.
- It's not... see, it's not going...

were you banned
from a dating site?

You know the gays
on the dating sites...

My dossier was here.

I had it with me,
but now it's gone.

Gone.

- Key up... up and down...
- I know but I tried...

Every... ing thing.

I am livid.

With every step I take,
I just think I'm going

to get caught.
Someone's going to get me,

someone's gonna run after me.

And nobody does.

- No, no.
- What are you doing?

- What are you doing?
- It's my dossier!

- No, it's not.
- Yes, it is.

- No, it's not.
- Yes, it is.

- No it's not...
- Yes, it is.

What the
are you doing?

Next time on "spy games"...

Both hands in the front.

This is where we find out
a lot about my lifestyle.

Today we're
going to be testing

the tradecraft skill
of lock picking.

Oh, why!

It's like... Someone
stabbing you over and over.

I need to get
my dossier back.

I think that we're in a great
position to help each other.

I gave you information.

Oh, sh...!

He stole my dossier.

That's quite an accusation.

I did not directly
say that I had it.

You're not
talking to charnel.

You're talking to me.
