She Was Pretty (2015): Season 1, Episode 1 - Episode #1.1 - full transcript

Kim Hye-jin is a young woman who used to have it all as a child: loving parents, beauty, friends and money. Now, after her parents went into bankruptcy and Hye-jin lost her mother's beauty, and her father's genes started to appear, she has a bad payed job as a waitress, while looking for a job in a big company, with no luck. She lives with her best friend, beautiful Min Ha-ri, who works as Manager in Customers Service at a 5 stars hotel. One day, Hye-jin receives an e-mail from her childhood friend, her first love, Ji Sung-joon, whom she hasn't seen since he left Korea as a child. Sung-joon used to be bullied by their classmates for being fat and wear glasses, and it was then-popular Hye-jin who protected him. Hye-jin decide to meet him now that he's back, but things did not result as expected.

KIM HYE-JIN

TO KIM HYE-JIN

Excuse me!

More beer, please.

Right away! Here's another round.

Here you go!

Here's your beer.

MY HUSBAND

Yes.

Me? Right now?

I'm still at Hannam Bridge.

Wow, the night view is spectacular!

Stop lying to me.

You were at the bridge 30 minutes ago.

Girl, how can you not be here
for my birthday?

I'm almost there.

-We'll order now.
-I'll see you in a bit.

-We're ready to order.
-Okay, I'm coming!

Isn't that girl pretty?

Here's your cold beer and popcorn.

What's this? Who asked for popcorn?

Where's our food?

Oh, my!

Our chef must be putting
extra attention into your order

which is why it's taking long.

I'll go and speed things up for you.

Hold on.

Wasn't that pretty server over there
who took our order

supposed to wait our table?

Sorry?

-Is this your order?
-Just give us anything.

Understood.

Oh, right.

I guess I'm the inferior server
when it comes to looks.

I'll tell her to bring you your food,

so don't you worry!

Are you enjoying the birthday party
I've thrown for you?

I guess.

Ha-ri.

Ta-da.

It's my gift to you.

Brand new, directly from Paris--

Here! Wifey! Over here.

Hye-jin!

Here!

Wow, look at that!

I never thought
you'd have friends like that.

"Like that"?

They say birds of a feather
flock together,

but her looks and style are ridiculous...

What are you saying, you prick?

-What gives you the right to say that?
-I meant...

Hey, do you even know that friend of mine?

Do you?

Min Ha-ri, this necklace I got for you...

You can wear it for all I care.

Also, don't ever be
in my line of sight again.

Wifey, come here!

Gosh, I want her.

What took you so long?

I'm sorry!

Here's your present.

What's this?

What's with all the flashing lights?

I don't think I'm in appropriate attire.

You can dress however you want.

Thanks for coming!

You haven't eaten yet, have you? Let's go.

-Come on.
-Wait a second.

The birthday girl should stay.
I can get my own food.

Go and have fun.

STUDENT LOAN INTEREST OF 218,540 WON
DUE ON THE 5TH

Everyone here seems so carefree.

Well-eaten ghosts look better

and views can't be enjoyed
on an empty stomach.

I've got to eat!

Ha-ri.

Ha-ri!

Ha-ri!

Ha-ri!

Hey, Ha-ri!

Ha-ri!

One day, a thought crossed my mind.

I wondered if lead characters
only exist in movies and dramas.

-Be careful.
-Slow down!

I know how to swim!

Like the popcorn at the bar
that was rejected over hot snacks,

maybe in life too,

people are distinguished as
either a lead or a supporting character.

I'll probably end up as a friend,
three degrees from the lead role.

No, I may simply be an extra
that doesn't even deserve

or can't even shine under the spotlight.

What's that sound? Did she fart?

Why is she soaking wet?

Did you sleep well?

You're up early.

I'm first!

Why did you leave
without saying anything last night?

They needed my help at the bar,
so they texted me an SOS.

It's my fault for being good at my job.

Why didn't you pick up your phone?

It drowned.

I need to get it fixed later today.

Did you drop it in the toilet?

How many times is it already?

-You're so clumsy.
-Yes.

Well, that's me.

Anyway, let's eat.

Are you trying to build a tower?

I have an interview later today.

I'll only be confident on a full stomach.

Haven't you heard back
from your previous interviews?

I haven't.

My only wish is to work late
for someone somewhere,

so why won't they hire me?

I hope every company
that rejected me goes bankrupt!

No, scratch that.

My mom told me to be aware of karma.

Are you done with your speech yet?

JINSUNG MAGAZINE

Oh, no. I'm late!

Which floor are you headed?

-The second.
-Second floor?

Second floor?

-Either of you...
-Aren't you getting off?

One of you should get off.

I thought I got on first.

Didn't I?

I'm going to be late!

You there.

Get in.

JINSUNG MAGAZINE INTERNSHIP INTERVIEW 2015

Number 190, Ms. Kim Hye-jin?

Yes.

Where is Youngmin University?

Well...

It's in a nearby area outside of Seoul.

The school isn't well-known,
but it's one with a vision!

The campus is spectacular too.

I see you have some work experience.

Yes.

But why are all of your past employments
under three months?

One company went bankrupt

and the president was arrested
without a warrant in another.

If you let me,
I'll take on the mentality of a worker ant

in order to become a full-time employee
of Jinsung Magazine!

So that's another failed attempt

What's this?

That's cold!

What now? Is it raining?

I hate the rain!

It's go time!

My hair's all frizzy now.

Why did it have to rain?

I'm going to kill her.

You must be so proud of yourself.

Did you seriously just do that in public?

My backbone.

What did I do now?

Who's that guy? Is he your new boyfriend?

No. I'm thinking about
whether I should see him or not.

Why are you kissing him
when you're not even dating?

I'll have to know
if he's a good kisser in order to decide!

Come on, we're going to the supermarket.

We're out of tissue.

I wish I could borrow your looks
and body for my interviews.

It'd score me additional points.

If I could, I would've lent them
to you a hundred times.

When did you even switch boyfriends again?

Do any of those men
make your heart flutter anyway?

Why does it have to?

If he's nice, I'll give him a shot.

You make it sound so easy.

Then, did you ever find true love
among any of those men?

True love?

What's that?

You miss him when he's not around
and you're happy to be with him.

You do things you'd normally never do

and you see him wherever you go.

Something like that?

True love or whatnot is all just a myth.

Hey!

Mister.

What do you think you're doing?

I was just wondering how much this is.

I won't explain it all,

but it's the same
as squeezing olives for oil.

All men are the same, is what I'm saying.

There's no need to stress about it.

The value of true love?

If it exists, how much would it cost?

What?

That'll be 47,000 won.

Throw out the old-fashioned notions
you have about love

and go on some dates yourself.

Dating is a waste of money.

Besides, no one's even interested in me.

I'll just work on my résumé.

There's so much spam mail.
I don't want a steamy night.

Spam these days looks like real emails.

Wait a minute.

Ji Sung-joon?

HYE-JIN, IT'S ME, SUNG-JOON

Ji Sung-joon would be...

Can it be that Ji Sung-joon?

IT'S BEEN A WHILE,
DO YOU REMEMBER ME?

I'LL BE BACK IN KOREA SOON.
IF YOU HAVE TIME, LET'S MEET UP.

Is it really him?

What is it?

Who's Ji Sung-joon?

Don't you remember?

When your father relocated
to the office in Japan,

a family moved into your old house.

That's right.

That fat kid?

Stop right there, fat boy!

What are you doing in my house?

No, I...

Dad!

Who's that fatty?

What a loser.

Is he the neighborhood idiot?

When I saw him at the house,
I thought he was just some loser.

I was so surprised when I heard

that the two of you
had become best friends.

But why is the fatty contacting you now?

He wants to meet.

What?

So that naive Sung-joon is coming back.

It's go time!

Wifey!

Is today the day you're meeting Fatty?

Have you talked to him on the phone?

No, it was just emails.

I'll call him when I get there.

Hey, do you think there's
a pay phone there?

A pay phone?

Right, your phone's getting fixed.

Just take my phone instead.

Won't it be inconvenient for you?

It's fine. I'm tired of all of these guys
calling me anyway.

I want to smack you
but I can't because it's true.

Why are you meeting that fatty anyway?

I doubt it'll benefit you in any way.

We were really close friends.

And he was kind of...

my first love.

No way.

I didn't know
that your standards were so low.

They're practically buried underground.

Fine. Keep making fun of me.

You can say whatever you like,
but he and I share a special relationship.

I wonder how he's changed!

Stop it, you'll cause us to crash.

All right.

-Why?
-Come here.

-What are you doing?
-Hold still.

You're meeting with your first love.

There, much better.

This work is Renoir's
Dance in the Country.

In the painting, the main character

is Renoir's friend Paul
and his wife-to-be.

It might not actually be those two.

I mean, based on the perspective,
the lead can always change.

I didn't mean to interrupt your class.
I'm sorry.

How do you do? I'm Kim Shin-hyuk,

The Most Korea's handsome features editor
assigned to cover this exhibit.

Sung-joon, it's Hye-jin.

I've arrived.

Call me at this number when you get here.

Just five minutes left!

Sung-joon. It's you, right?

It's been so long!

You haven't changed at all!

Who are you?

Are you not Sung-joon?

Sir?

No, I'm not!

I'm so sorry. I apologize.

Ma'am, what's with the violence?

I'm not old enough to be called ma'am.

Of course you are.

Hold on.

Hello?

Hye-jin, this is Sung-joon.

Yes, Sung-joon.

Where are you now?

I'm near the fountain.

The fountain?

I'm near the fountain too.

I think I've found you.

Really?

I don't see you anywhere.

Don't you see me?

Here.

No way.

Hye-jin.

Hold on a second.

In the confusion of trying
to make ends meet all the time,

I had forgotten one important fact!

The image he has of me
in the past was at least like this.

Sit down next to the friend
you want to get to know.

Like this.

First prize goes to

Kim Hye-jin from fifth grade.

-Kim Hye-jin!
-Kim Hye-jin!

Or something like this.

-Fatty, fat boy!
-Look at this loser.

Hey, stop making fun of Sung-joon!

This is the very least
he would expect from me!

Are you Hye-jin?

No, I'm not.

I'm so sorry.

Honey.

Hye-jin, where are you?

Wasn't that pretty server
over there who took our order

supposed to wait our table?

Where is Youngmin University?

Applicant Kim Hye-jin has been rejected.

-Rejected.
-Rejection.

You've been rejected.

We used to be wealthy,

but my father's business went bankrupt
after Sung-joon moved away.

I used to be pretty like my mom,

but my dad's traits
that weren't as appealing

began to show in late adolescence.

Before I knew it,
I had already turned out like this.

Hey, Kim Hye-jin.

Why are you back already?
Didn't you meet Fatty?

About that...

Let's just go home, Ha-ri.

If he ended up turning into a hot guy,
you should definitely go after him.

Why would you run away?

He didn't even imagine
that I'd turn out like this.

I was right in front of him,
but he didn't recognize me.

There's no more trace
of the pretty girl that he used to know.

I knew that meeting him
would be more humiliating

and that scared me.

It's why I ran away.

I was eager to see him again,

but I was too naive.

Don't say that.
There's nothing wrong with you.

You're a good catch!

Just meet him.

If he asks me what I do,

do I tell him I'm unemployed at 30?

If he says he couldn't recognize me,

do I apologize for looking ugly?

Hey.

I want to preserve the memories
of his first love.

If I don't meet him,

he'll keep those great memories of me.

Kim Hye-jin.

You're being ridiculous.

Stop talking like an idiot

and meet him right away.

Being a decent guy,
he'll say he's happy to see me,

but I bet he'll be flustered.

"She's gone.

The girl that I once loved is gone."

That's what he'll think.

Oh, please.

If only I could borrow
your looks and body for today.

Wait, Ha-ri.

I've just thought of something...

and I think you can help me.

Sung-joon.

Kim Hye-jin?

You must be Hye-jin.

Sorry, I'm late.

It's been a while.

Have you been well?

Hye-jin.

I've missed you, Kim Hye-jin.

Hey, kid!

Did you move here?

My best friend Ha-ri used to live there.

I'm in the fifth grade, what about you?

Third grade, fourth grade?

Hey, kid!

Let's welcome our new student.

His name is Ji Sung-joon
and he just transferred here.

Hey, you're not a kid!

She called him a kid!

That's not a kid. It's a fatty!

My mom asked me to give this to you.

Also, I'm sorry. You're shorter,
so I thought you were younger than me.

You should've told me that you weren't.

Are you working on a puzzle?

I saw that painting in a textbook!

I never realized there was a person
in the corner before.

You found her.

That girl is hiding.

Hiding?

She really does look like she's hiding.

I wonder what she's looking at.

Does she want to dance on stage too?

In my opinion, she's watching the man

because she secretly likes him.

That could be true too.

It's like finding her
in a hidden picture puzzle.

A hidden picture puzzle?

Look. You can't see her
unless you look closely.

Just like a hidden picture puzzle.

You're right.

It really is like a hidden picture puzzle.

I didn't want to disappoint my first love.

In front of him, I could see myself
being the popcorn everyone discards.

So in the end, on that very day,

I watched him from afar
as I hid in the background.

Don't make any mistakes
and do as we planned.

Here is our menu.

Should we go ahead and order?

Sure.

Miss, would you like to place an order?

Miss?

Miss.

What?

Would you like to order?

Give me this, this one.

The grilled shrimp and caviar
with the filet mignon steak.

Coming right up.

Sure.

What?

No!

Forget the filet mignon steak
and give me a cup of coffee.

-Coffee.
-Sure thing.

I don't know what to ask you first.

I have so many questions.

What about work?

What kind of work do you do?

When he asks you what you do,
tell him this.

I'm still studying.

It's been somewhat of a calling.

So you're still in school.

What about you?

I'm involved in art directing.

I have no idea what that is.

Oh, I see.

Are your parents doing well?

Of course.

My mom and dad are doing...

Well!

They're both doing well.

Are you okay?

How about your parents?

My father is in Seattle
and I was in New York for work.

I don't see him often,
but he's doing well as always.

What about your mother?

What?

His mother passed away.

Oh, gosh.

Your father...

I thought he might've remarried.

I see.

Yes, he did remarry.

It's been about seven years now.

I had a feeling that he did,
which is why I asked.

But why did you decide
to contact me all of a sudden?

I was cleaning up my place
before I came back to Korea

and I found a box.

I didn't know I still had them

and I found the letters
that you used to write me.

Reading them reminded me of our childhood

and I suddenly missed you like crazy.

I see.

Why did you stop contacting me back then?

If he asks why I stopped
contacting him, tell him this.

After you left the country,
we also left to live in Japan.

I lost your address during the move.

I've been wondering about you too though.

It's nice to finally meet you again.

And so the mystery is solved.

My letters kept coming back,
so I wondered what happened.

I see.

Do you remember the puzzle back then?
It was in the box too.

Puzzle?

Oh, the puzzle.

Right.

THE HIDDEN GIRL

Are you all right?

THE HIDDEN GIRL

Oh, the hidden girl!

You remember?

I had forgotten that I had it

but then remembered
that we used to put it together.

I suddenly felt grateful.

Until I met you, I was always alone,

but I realized something
when you became my friend.

Even if you have
only one friend in the entire world,

you won't be lonely

and that life could be fun.

And I was glad
that the one friend I had...

was such a great person,
which you truly were.

Reminiscing made me be grateful,
and I started to miss you.

It's why I wanted to see you.

Now that I'm here,

I think I've made the right choice.

I think I've made the right choice too
by hiding.

I'll drop you off where you live.

It's okay. I drove here too.

Really?

Then I guess we'll part ways for today.

Sung-joon.

I have something to tell you.

To preserve our precious memories

and bring this night to a beautiful end,

tell him this.

I'm going overseas to study.

What?

I regret having to tell you this
on our reunion,

but I've been planning it for some time.

Oh, so that's what you had planned.

Where are you headed?

What?

GREAT BRITAIN'S MAGICIAN OF LIGHT

To England.

I'm going to England.

When are you leaving?

-Tomorrow.
-Tomorrow?

Yes, tomorrow.

Tomorrow?

Yes.

What am I going to do now?

It feels too early to part ways like this.

We'll contact each other again.

Sure.

I go to London
a couple of times a year for work,

so I guess I'll see you then.

Good luck in England

and keep in touch.

Sure. It was nice to see you today.

I'll be leaving now.

Wait, Hye-jin.

Yes?

Can you wait here for just five minutes?

-Five minutes?
-Yes, exactly five minutes.

I'll be back before then.

Wait, where are you going?

Welcome.

Yes, hello.

AUGUSTE RENOIR

I made it back in time.

Where did you go?

I wanted to get you a parting gift.

It'll be useful in London.

Use this to avoid the thing you hate.

Right.

Thanks.

Good luck and keep in touch.

Yes, it was nice to see you again.

Goodbye.

Have a good trip.

How can a person change so much?

Only a transforming robot
could make such a drastic change.

He gave you this gift.

He mentioned something
about avoiding what you hate.

Something I hate?

It's only an umbrella.

I thought it was something special.

I'm out of beer.

Stay here, I'll get one for you.

That's a first.

Wait, are you asleep?

At least wash off your makeup
before you sleep.

Ha-ri.

Min Ha-ri!

You must be so tired from all the acting.

I'm sorry I'm such an ugly friend.

JI SUNG-JOON: I MISS YOU, HYE-JIN!

JI SUNG-JOON: I GOT YOUR LETTER.

JI SUNG-JOON: WHEN SHOULD WE MEET?

DELETE ALL CHECKED ITEMS?

-What are you talking about?
-That's not it!

-I'll hold the best birthday party!
-Count me in!

Hey, it's dangerous. Sit down, kid!

The door! Mister, open this door!

Please open this door! Mister, please!

Open this door!

Mister, open this door.

Please! Mister, open this door.

Mister, open this door for me!

Open the door.

Mom.

Mom.

I'm afraid.

Mom.

I'm afraid of the rain.

Mom, I'm afraid of the rain!

Sung-joon, what's wrong?

-Are you okay?
-Mom, the rain.

I'm afraid of the rain.

Let's go.

I'm afraid of the rain.

Mom, the rain.

My mom, she...

I'm afraid of the rain!

I'm here with you now.

I'll be your umbrella.

You hold onto the hidden girl.

A puzzle isn't complete
without all of the pieces.

We'll meet again someday
and complete the puzzle.

Okay.

Bye, Sung-joon.

DELETE ALL CHECKED ITEMS?

DELETE ALL CHECKED ITEMS?

ALL ITEMS HAVE BEEN DELETED

Goodbye, my first love.

What's the matter?

What? Why?

Sometimes, without any warning,
your life takes an unexpected turn.

Ha-ri, what am I going to do?

-Why, what's the matter?
-Sometimes, you never get your way.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR INTERNSHIP
AT JINSUNG MAGAZINE

And other times, things work out fine.

-Cheers!
-Cheers!

Congratulations, Kim Hye-jin!

Min Ha-ri!

I did it!

-Employee!
-Employee!

EMPLOYEE

Kim Hye-jin, it's been a long road.

I have a feeling
that good things are in store.

Things may not always go my way,

but it'll only help me grow stronger.

It's time to forget about the past

and start a brand new chapter
in Kim Hye-jin's life!

Onward!

Onward I go!

What a waste.

Are you okay? Are you hurt?

If you're really injured,
I'll help you up.

But if you're embarrassed,

I advise that you get up
and make a run for it.

Do you want to try and get up?

No.

My front tooth.

I think I've lost my front tooth!

My tooth!

My tooth!

This?

This is just chewing gum.

What?

They're all there.

Why don't you get up?

I'm going to be late!

What a weird woman.

Black loafers with white socks?

MANAGEMENT SUPPORT DEPARTMENT

Now, please introduce yourselves.

I'm Lee Seul-bi.

My goodness.

That's a beautiful name.

It's a pleasure.

How do you do?
I'm the new intern, Kim Hye-jin!

I will put my heart and soul
into my work here!

That's quite a voice you have there!

This isn't the barracks,
so you can lower your voice.

Yes, sir!

Congratulations on joining the company.

Thank you.

Our job here at Management Support

is to make sure that
the company runs smoothly.

As the title infers,
we are a core division

that both manages
and supports the company.

Oh, that's right.

Core division.

I hope we can bring you both on board
as full-time employees in three months.

I'll do my very best!

My desk!

Here are your intern ID badges.

Ms. Lee, your picture came out well.

-Please don't lose this.
-Thank you very much!

KIM HYE-JIN

My ID badge!

-Ms. Kim Hye-jin?
-Yes!

Did you call for me, sir?

That's why you're here, isn't it?

This is the first assignment
I'm giving you.

It's a very important job
that we are in charge of.

Do you think you can handle it?

You can depend on me on anything!

We have a reception every month

for all the employees who have birthdays.

We are in charge
of providing the refreshments.

About 500 meters away
is a place called Woori Market.

They've worked with us for many years,

so that's where you'll go
for a ten percent discount.

Thank you very much!

Buy the gift cards for the event
at the post office.

Oh, and can you pay my utility bill
while you're there?

All campaigns are our responsibility too.

I want you to put up
these posters on every floor.

I trust that you won't use the elevator
while putting up

these energy conservation posters.

I'm sorry.

I'm back!

I didn't realize my job requires me
to run everywhere.

You're completely out of breath!

Are you all right?

I'm fine!

Then get me a cup of water.

Sorry?

Water.

Yes, sir.

Nice!

Can't you take that off at home?

Why?

I even take it to bed with me.

That reminds me.

Now that I'm getting a salary,
I'll pitch in from now on.

Hey, Patriot.

You've given me my independence.

If it weren't for you,
my dad wouldn't have let me move out.

So you hold onto this.

Oh, please. I'm only a freeloader.

-Take it.
-Forget it!

-Take it.
-I said no!

Take it!

Mr. Boo, I've completed
the Excel spreadsheet and sent it to you.

Already?

Ms. Hye-jin, you're undoubtedly
the best worker here!

That's why I endorsed your hiring!

Are you the one who hired me?

Didn't you know?

I made it absolutely clear
that I wanted you

as one of my new interns!

Female workers these days
always text men during work hours.

They take hour-long breaks on the phone

and refuse to work late

because they want to go on dates.

Some get married
within one year of being hired.

But what about our Ms. Kim?

She's perfect!

She doesn't receive any calls from men,

and she has no dates to look forward to.

I guess.

A lacking résumé?

That can be an advantage sometimes!

She'll never be scouted
to another company.

I'm a great judge of character!

You're right!

Mr. Boo, you're the best!

Should I do something else?

Do what?

It's six o'clock, so get ready to go home.

Take that box to The Most Editing Team.

They always request things from us

and never come to get it.

The Most Editing Team?

I didn't know we had this department.

Yes?

I'm here from
the Management Support Department.

No way.

-Come here!
-Okay!

-Check this out and confirm. Hurry!
-Yes, ma'am.

Please approve this layout.

Wow, so this is the team
that creates the magazine.

Excuse me.

I'm from Management Support Department.

The items that were requested...

Just leave it anywhere there.

In three minutes?

-Yes.
-I'll put it here then.

It's you.

Go down and give this to a courier

and come back for
the document translations.

Sorry?

It's door number 4444,
so don't ring all of the doors.

And if you're going to work for me,

you have to do something about that hair.

This will pay for the courier.
I'm headed to the Art Department.

Wait, why should I?

Why am I doing this?

I forgot to put these documents back.

Are you here for The Most Editing Team?

-Yes, I am.
-Here you go.

Thank you!

What was she saying?

Wait...

Where have I seen her before?

You're back.

Here.

There are some typos.

This was overlapped
with our 20th anniversary issue,

so I barely have time
to write my own pieces.

Also, look out for grammatical errors.

I really need that done.

What?

What kind of editing?

Excuse me.

Why are you giving me this?

Jun-u, who is she?

That person?

She's our new proofreading freelancer.

There are only a few typos,
so it won't take you very long.

What?

I could swear that
we've met somewhere before.

Have we?

-No, we haven't.
-Did we meet at a club?

I was wondering why I have to do this.

Did you complete the translations?

What? Oh, right.

Here.

Thank you.

Yes.

I'm curious. Why is everyone--

Go to the café on the first floor
and take coffee to the studio

at the building across from here.

But...

What's this place about?

Now, we'll take ten!

Coffee.

Where is my coffee?

The coffee is here!

I'm so sorry.

My apologies. I'm late, aren't I?

There was a car accident on the way here.

And you are?

Sorry?

I'm the new proofreading freelancer.

What?

Then who's that girl with frizzy hair?

She completed the translations
without any errors.

I had her proofread my documents too.

She did a great job.

Who on earth is she?

Oh, no!

Stop! Mister!

MANAGEMENT SUPPORT DEPARTMENT

What? The Most Editing Team?

Why am I being reassigned there?

They've requested your transfer.

Ask them for the details
and return here after three months.

What? For three months?

But I'm prepared to do my best here
at Management Support.

You can do that when you get back.

Just go.

The Most Editing Team
is the most influential department.

We do whatever they demand.

If you do a great job over there,

it'll help you land
a full-time position here.

But...

Excuse me.

Oh, you're here.

Have a seat over there.

-Over there?
-Yes.

I look forward to working with you.

Sure.

She's here.

I know I've seen her somewhere before.

What?

She looks awfully familiar.

Yes, Ha-ri.

What was your text about?

Why were you transferred?

I don't know.

I don't know what's going on.

Buon giorno!

-Ma'am, you're here.
-How are you today?

Ciao!

The weather is wonderful outside!

Goodness!

An amazing lady just walked in.

Sometimes, without any warning,
your life takes an unexpected turn.

That's the guy from the elevator!

Annoying jerk.

Is he here yet?
I thought he was coming today.

That's why you must
always be on your toes.

Oh, there he is now.

Life isn't something you can prepare for.

Attention!

Allow me to introduce him.

He's the deputy chief editor transferred
from our New York head office.

Kim Hye-jin, are you there?

Hey!

Oh, right!

Michael Jackson!

It's a pleasure to meet you.

I'm your new deputy chief editor,
Ji Sung-joon.

None of us saw this coming.

-This was the beginning...
-This was the beginning

of our very own hidden picture puzzle.

Allow me to introduce him.

I'm Ji Sung-joon.

It's a pleasure to meet you.

Does this mean you'll have
to face Ji Sung-joon every day?

Hey, what if he recognizes me?

This is our very first team meeting.

Do you have a low IQ?

I find it all offensive!

Didn't you say you wanted to work late
until your nose bleeds?

So why are you resigning
because of that Ji Sung-joon?

I'm sorry.

Did you think you could hide this
from me forever?
