All the fans ask of you
is that you give it your all.

There is no bigger truth than your game.

Sergio Ramos stands for truth.
I prove it every Sunday on the field.

Goal by Sergio Ramos!

Goal by Ramos! Ramos!

Goal by Ramos!

A fine goal,
a Panenka penalty kick in cold blood!

Ramos, what a player!

THE LEGEND OF
SERGIO RAMOS

EL CLÁSICO

We should speak in plural.
"Sergios," not "Sergio."

He is many Sergios.

He's a player halfway between
the 20th and 21st century.

He has the traits of a hero.

RAFA NADAL FRIEND

He will perform
at the highest possible level.

And for that, you need to do
many things well on the field,

but also off it.

You have to dream big, but to dream big,
you also have to work big.

ALEJANDRO SANZ FRIEND

Sergio gives you that edge. He likes it...

And you can see it every game.
He gives his best.

Every year he renews himself, he performs,

and I find that
really worthy of admiration.

I made a decision many years ago.
To become a soccer player.

I decide to try to be the best
in my position every year,

and that's the mentality I want to keep
until I decide to take a step back.

I don't want to be
just one more soccer player,

that's why I live by and for soccer,
and the rest is for my family.

That's one of my key components,

my mentality and my obsession
for wanting to be the best in my position.

And to try and give my best.

One's mentality is key. Since I was young,

I've been lucky to have won
major tournaments in the world of soccer,

but I always tried
to renew myself every year

to keep that joy
and that flame burning,

the will to win again.

Real Madrid forces you to be great.

The player must get to the top
and stay there.

Many players here managed
to maintain the bar at a very high level.

That's the case with Sergio.

TWO DAYS
UNTIL EL CLÁSICO

Well, this is my humble trophy room.

This is where I keep
only the collective trophies

and the individual ones.

The replicas of the Champions League,
the Spanish Supercopa that they give us,

and these are the individual trophies
for the Best XI,

of which I'm lucky to have 10.

The cleats that Modric gave me when he won
the Golden Ball, he dedicated them to me.

I collect jerseys
and cleats from other players.

I have a pair from Messi, Cristiano...

I have the cleats of colleagues
who deserve respect in this sport.

I appreciate the good work,

even if they wear different colors
and a different emblem.

A gift from my grandfather Juan,
God rest his soul. He won a trophy

for best fisherman and he gave it to me.

The Virgin of El Rocío, from my mother.

The Buddha, from my mother too,
she said

when I started playing,
"I hope someday the Buddha gets covered."

Here we have the medals.

The Euros, the World Cup,
the Champions League, Supercopas.

Poor Buddha, since I hanged the first one,
he looks more and more annoyed.

He doesn't live off royalties.

RENÉ
BROTHER AND AGENT

He would've fallen behind already.

That passion
for records helps him renew challenges,

renew objectives, and obviously
extend his enthusiasm and his career.

THE PLAYER WITH THE MOST
EL CLÁSICO APPEARANCES

HIGHEST GOAL-SCORING DEFENDER
IN HISTORY

MOST CAPPED PLAYER
ON THE SPANISH NATIONAL TEAM

These are the LaLiga replicas,
I have four.

I've won as many Champions Leagues
as Ligas. It's unbelievable,

we've faced
the best Barcelona team in history,

so that makes winning LaLiga
a lot harder.

Champions, champions!

For many years we've competed
directly with Barcelona for the titles,

in the Champions League, in LaLiga.

There's been this rivalry
between Madrid and Barcelona,

which is also a great city
with an excellent team.

The atmosphere is different.

It creates so much anticipation
and has this worldwide reach.

Winning a Clásico is a beautiful thing,
and losing a Clásico is extremely tough.

For me, personally,
it's beautiful to be a part of all this.

It's the game that everyone wants
to watch. And everyone wants to play it.

The Madrid-Barça game is
the biggest game of the year.

Anyone is looking forward to that game,
to that moment...

SERGIO BUSQUETS
RIVAL - FC BARCELONA

...and as a player, you're aware of that.

You play against the best
and it has a huge impact.

As a spectacle,
as a show that's appealing to the eye,

it's just unbeatable.
It's really hard to find

a game between national teams
that's more appealing

than that of Madrid-Barcelona.

CHAMPIONS

Hello.

- Hello.
- How are you?

- Sergio.
- How are you?

Good.

- How's it going?
- Hello.

Should I take off my blazer or...

I'm very cheerful, I smile all the time,
I don't see the press in a bad light.

I see them as part of our lives,
of our world.

They're colleagues of our profession.
I'll never speak ill of them,

unless they meddle in my personal life

or family stuff
that's outside my professional career.

- So, how's it going?
- Good. Sorry I'm late.

Don't worry.
Could you lift your arms and clap once?

There are journalists I've been seeing
for over 15 years. And that's a lot.

Eventually, you grow attached to some
and develop a good relationship with them.

What does it feel like
to have the most El Clásico games?

Well, it's a privilege.
After all, I think it's an award, too.

To be honest, I don't get nervous at all
during a press conference.

Even for the Champions League,
or any other kind of interview.

But in the past, years ago,
they would make me anxious.

For me, it's the day I most...

For me,
it's the best day of my life because...

You don't have the words,

the experience, you're not used
to the cameras, to the interviews,

and, inevitably,
today I can say that I feel very confident

in front of a camera.

It's not a problem for me
to take on that speaking role.

Why not be the spokesperson?

People want to hear the voice
of those of us that have been here

the longest.

- Okay.
- A pleasure.

- Don't take the mic.
- That's right.

A pleasure.

- Your jacket.
- Thank you.

We're done?

He's been a public figure for many years

and has had to face press conferences
and the public opinion,

so he's pretty comfortable with that.

I started doing advertisements.

I've been featured in movies,
I've hosted a few television shows,

I'm the face of many different brands.
I don't know, a lot of things.

My job encompasses many different areas.

Five, three...

Hi, everyone. Welcome.
Thank you for being with us today...

She is outstanding at her job.

She achieves everything
she sets her mind to.

She... I think that...

We support each other
and make each other better.

We're very different,

but when it comes to our jobs, we know

that we have extra responsibilities

that maybe other professions don't entail.

We understand each other
because of the pressure of our careers.

We're not only husband and wife.

We're friends, we're life partners,
we have a very, very special relationship,

and I think it's a unique relationship.

I guess everyone who wants
to form a family looks for a pillar

as important as this one.

We share everything.

If I have to do an advertising campaign,
a photo shoot.

And I like to talk to him.
He gives me his opinion

and gives me a little bit
of extra energy for motivation.

I think he's a leader because he has
the perfect balance between personality

and passion.

He needs to be the role model
for the rest of the group.

A leader has to be the first to get there,

prove himself, give his best,
and be the last to leave.

Everyone else must look to him

and see the example to follow
and keep going forward.

ONE DAY
UNTIL EL CLÁSICO

I depend a lot on my physical condition.

The best players are
usually wingers, strikers,

and they are very fast.

And I don't want to lose face
because I lack speed

or I'm not in good shape,

so I focus a lot on that
and work out a lot every day.

I spend many hours alone, indoors,
at the gym, stretching, with physios...

Invisible work, so to speak,
which people don't know about.

An extremely gifted person
who loves what he does.

Passion for this is very important,
and he really is passionate about it.

Working out,

physio, water therapy,
contrast baths, gym and everything,

and the hyperbaric chamber,
about eight to 10 hours for sure.

RAPHAËL VARANE TEAMMATE

He's hungry for his sport,
he gives everything

and he's an example of commitment

and giving one's best to the team.

IKER CASILLAS
FORMER TEAMMATE

He has a lot of guts.
He doesn't hide, even if he fails.

He wants to try the same play again.

People know it.
I mean, I think he's a wall,

and having him on board gives you
a 100% guarantee.

That's my challenge, my personal fight.

Eventually, you keep winning games
and growing, the years go by,

and it gets a little harder to work out,
to watch your health

and so on, but it's an inner fight I have
against my age, against my body.

Up until today I have been the winner

and it will remain that way
for a few more years.

Sergio is somewhat mythological.

To find a similar example in Real Madrid,

we would have to go back to,
I don't know, to Pirri, Camacho, Raúl.

People who, in a way, embody the club,

who personify the values
that are characteristic of Real Madrid.

This mentality,
this behavior on and off the field,

is exactly what a club
as big as Real Madrid needs.

A captain like him,
who represents the values of the club.

ZINEDINE ZIDANE
COACH - REAL MADRID

He's amazing.
And for me, having played by his side

and now being his coach,
it's a pleasure every day.

His head is essential.
His nature is important.

Because in the end that's what makes him
reach his objectives on the job.

His job comprises many things.
There's the physical aspect,

he works out,

which is maybe
the least difficult part for him.

But sticking to a diet,
sleeping well, it all implies many things,

and he strictly sticks to that.
He has a privileged mind.

I've grown used to enjoying the pain,

and when you get used to the pain
because you know that it's a good thing,

you do it with a smile on your face.

All those hours struggling,

I think that, in the end,
are very much worth it.

And after all,
it's my way of understanding this sport.

If I want to be here
for the years that I intend to be,

considering my age
and the need to keep up,

I have to do all that
to be at my highest level.

Otherwise, I would've retired years ago,

or I would try to set
a lower benchmark for myself.

I'm not that kind of person, I assure you.

Pilar Rubio is here!

El hormiguero is a family show where
international guests are interviewed,

and there are collaborators
with something new to show

and astonish the audience.
And one of those collaborators is me,

and every week I face a new challenge,

learn to do something new.

Let's put our faces in the water
to do an apnea test.

We're going to do it really slowly.

For me, going to work every day is a gift.

I should appreciate and value what I have
and what I've achieved.

Then I'll never be in a bad mood.

I enjoy every day.
Every day is an adventure.

You never know what the day will bring,
what you will learn from people.

And every day is a lesson,

and I'm happy and thankful
for being able to do what I like.

Whenever you're ready, come back up.

Again?

Very good.

You did good.

You're fighting against your own head.

On El hormiguero, that's what we want.
To show that you can go the extra mile.

Good. Very good.

- Is that enough now?
- Yes.

That's why I take my job so seriously.

I don't want to let down the people
who watch me and support me.

They look forward
to see what I'm going to do,

and they get even more excited than I
when I succeed.

Now?

NEW RECORD

Look what you just achieved!

What the hell?

How long was that?

- Four minutes and zero...
- Eight.

Four minutes and eight seconds.

Well, I would like to dedicate this

to all my followers on Instagram,

who have been supporting me
for all these years.

You need to be on social media,
otherwise, it's as if you didn't exist.

You're not on the same wavelength
as everyone else.

There are now over five million people
supporting me every day

and making me feel super happy.

On social media
you can send a direct message,

whatever you want to say,
to your followers.

Without filters,
without anyone manipulating the data.

Hi, everyone. How are you?

With this magnificent weather
you're probably outside,

but if you're at home,
I've thought about something...

They're different goals.

On social media,
they are people who admire you,

people who are your fans,

so they deserve
to know a little bit more about you.

I'm a simple, friendly guy
who likes to joke and laugh all the time,

and to a certain extent,
I should show that to people.

I try to use social media to show
my day-to-day routine

and to offer people something,
a recipe, or a good workout

that provides additional help.
Any useful information.

That's the way we should use social media,
for useful information.

So this is what the Kiss patch looks like
on this leather jacket.

And I hope that you can use the idea
to recycle your shirts,

be it using a sewing machine or manually.

You will like it. Kisses!

For good and bad,
you must be very careful.

Anything can be taken out of context,

but if you get closer
to people who look up to you,

appreciate and love you,
why not give it to them?

Hello, greetings.

DAY OF EL CLÁSICO

Welcome to the most decisive Clásico
in the last few years, which will decide

who will emerge as leader at the Bernabéu
and get ahead for the title,

and also whether
or not Madrid can leave behind some...

We try to play well in every match,
but this one was special.

I remember that people would come
from other cities

and would wait for two days outside
the Bernabéu, waiting for that game.

Madrid, Barcelona need each other.

NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

They need the other to be in the fight,

and the stronger the competition,
the bigger the joy for the winner.

There are games that last a week,
there are games that last a month,

games that last a whole season
and games that last for a whole lifetime.

And, well,
in the case of a Madrid-Barça game,

there is the possibility,
depending on the details,

that the game will last for a lifetime.

If you support Barcelona
and I support Real Madrid,

we can still have a healthy relationship,
be sportsman-like.

And therefore, I think it's wrong
to cross the line there.

I think that Ronaldinho...

I have always been a fan.
Of his skills, of his magic.

He was a different kind of player.
Years will go by

before we see a player
with that magic again,

who stands out and is so superior.

And at the time,
I had to stop him, or at least try, right?

And, well, I learned that you had to wait,

never try to take the ball.

It was impossible
to succeed in a face-off with him.

And Eto'o was also a difficult striker
because of his agility, his speed.

He was good at scoring.

From that time, the ones I remember most
are Samuel Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Messi,

whom we all had
to struggle against throughout,

and maybe
if they hadn't played for Barcelona

and we didn't have to face them,
we would have won many more titles.

We have had to face
the best Barça squad in history.

The best Barça team was
with Guardiola as a coach,

and we also had an excellent coach, Mou,

who was a huge media personality,
and all that lead to...

Well, to tensions rising,

from Pep's side as well as Mourinho's.

He's the fucking boss,
the fucking man, he who knows everything.

Why not four penalties against Chelsea?
Why does Thiago Motta get sent off?

Why does Robin van Persie get sent off?
Why? Where does this power come from?

I'll give him his own Champions League.
He can take it home.

He has won a Champions League
that I would be ashamed of winning.

He won it
with the Stamford Bridge scandal.

Real madness that drove many people crazy.

Many journalists, many fans, many players.

Something that was
on the brink of putting in danger

one of the best things
in the history of Spanish soccer,

the national squad of that time.
A real atrocity.

Marcelo gets a red card,
Real Madrid with one less player.

It's a very sad ending.

It's a bittersweet memory.
We didn't win much

and there were tensions generated
by them or by us.

We all made mistakes back then.

During those consecutive
Madrid-Barcelona games,

the Real Madrid and the Barcelona players
had a falling out,

but it was not due to us coaches
or the players.

It was more due to external influences

that caused a lot of damage,
to put it lightly.

Keep an eye on this conversation

between the two national team players,

Iker Casillas and Xavi.

It was hard. Many people don't know
and will never know,

because they're internal issues,
and it caused damage back then.

Fortunately, well,
we were already old enough, mature enough,

and we were able to fix it.

Time heals everything,
or nearly everything,

and as the games went by and everything,
it all went back to normal.

When they saw themselves on television,

they realized how disagreeable
their behavior was.

It wasn't good for anyone.
They must not only be players

and perform well during the games,
which they have to,

but they must also set an example.

In the end, everyone's wisdom dictated
that we got together,

to solve our differences,

which were nothing more
than silly little things,

and to work towards
a single national team,

where we later proved

that being together
made us stronger and better.

It's El Clásico of the Spanish League.

The teams arrive, Madrid and Barça,
to compete for first place.

Barça is currently leading by two points.

They could increase
their advantage up to five points.

We were afraid that after that,
there were still 12 matches to go

and if they didn't make any mistakes,
we wouldn't be able to catch up

and win the league title.

I get emotional. They're not aware
of how important they are to us.

We need their love, their support,
a lot more than they know.

And there are times
when, sometimes rightly so,

we lose those things a little
over our bad results.

They are key for us to win.

When we face our rivals

I think that an euphoric crowd
at the Bernabéu is unbearable.

It's an experience only suitable
for people who are prepared.

That's why when I hear a commentator say,

"This player should have done this,"
or, "I would have done this,"

I think, "You would be so terrified
you would forget the ball is round."

I concentrate
by listening to my music on the way,

and when I'm in the dressing room,

we focus on preventive treatment
before the game

by warming up with the physio,

and then, well, put on the armor
and jump onto the field.

Stage fright is what haunts the player

who goes to the Bernabéu

and who feels small in that setting

and under the pressure
that the fans create.

But the most difficult stage fright
to endure

is the one that a Real Madrid player gets,

because Real Madrid supporters
are extremely demanding.

Many people overcome that stage fright,

but very few players
enjoy that stage fright.

Sergio is one of them.

When you play in the Bernabéu
after a victory away,

that previous success lasts
only five minutes.

Then you'll be judged by what you do
right there. They are demanding.

Madrid!

Madrid!

I'm a very passionate person
and I live by my emotions,

and they awaken that feeling inside me.

To put on the Real Madrid jersey
is a test of character.

I played for Real Madrid

and for the Argentina
national team simultaneously.

When I was called for the national squad
it meant a week of relaxation.

It was Argentina.

Representing a country that has
an over-the-top relationship with soccer.

FIGHT TOGETHER

When they press on, we feel much safer,

and at the end of the day it's thrilling,
it creates this feeling inside you.

It gives me goosebumps.

Number four, our captain, Sergio...

Ramos!

That gratitude and support are key.

They drive me to try and keep performing
at my highest level.

Madrid, Madrid, Madrid

Hala Madrid

And nothing else

Hala Madrid

Spectacular, the Real Madrid fans singing

the anthem of the 10th team of the Whites.

Mateu Lahoz is ready.

- Arthur advancing next to Kroos.
- Arthur leaves Kroos behind.

He shoots, but the ball is deflected.

Still nil to one.

Messi gets the ball,
Messi brings it down and... Courtois!

Messi, Messi, Messi!
Courtois deflects the ball!

Isco shoots.
Great shot saved by Ter Stegen!

Isco shoots. What a save by Ter Stegen!

And what a scolding
Ter Stegen is giving Semedo and Vidal.

- Madrid!
- Isco!

- Gerard Piqué saves it once again.
- It didn't go in, it doesn't look like it!

Piqué kept it away from the goal line!

Watch this, because Braithwaite
gets the ball, it's a fumble...

Braithwaite runs with Marcelo.

Braithwaite inside the box
with Courtois...

Varane saves it! Nearly created
big trouble for Real Madrid.

You can play well or bad,

but I try to give it everything I've got,
no matter what.

When you do everything with honesty

and try with your heart and soul,

people can't condemn you.

And I believe that's what our club,
and our supporters

and our history asks of us.

Minute 70 of the game,
nil-nil on the scoreboard.

Toni Kroos waving Vinícius,
asking him to make a run.

Nice pass by Kroos. Vini gets the ball!

Vinícius gets past the defender!

Goal!

Goal! An own goal by Gerard Piqué!

Goal by Vinícius!

Goal!

Vinícius!

Messi receives it. It's one-on-one.

He can get away. Marcelo clears it!

Marcelo is celebrating as if this was
a World Cup final.

Mariano gets past Umtiti.
Mariano runs towards the box. Mariano...

Mariano runs, he's all alone.

Mariano gets away. Vini asks for it.

Mariano wants to give it a shot.

Mariano. Goal!

Goal! Mariano!

Speed and a fine finish
for a great goal scored

by the kid...

El Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu
Stadium comes to an end.

Real Madrid are the winners of El Clásico.
The Whites have won El Clásico.

When the game finally ends,
you feel thrilled.

We got a clean sheet, scored two goals.

The second half of the game was fantastic,
on all fronts.

And we got back
to the top of the leader board.

We trained the whole week
and it turned out really well.

It's a unique sensation
because it is not a normal game.

Even if you get three points,
like any other game,

to beat your eternal, your direct rival,
Barcelona, feels wonderful,

but in the end, we hope
that we can bring the league home

and that we can celebrate it
at the Cibeles with all of our fans.

I think it's difficult
to get tired of winning,

because it's very gratifying for the tale
that you have been writing every year

to have a happy ending,

I think everyone would like to add
new titles to the club's trophy room.
