Our world has changed

and we must change with it.

With the seasons
in disarray,

floods have brought
catastrophe

for Nalla's family.

But it's little Kadogo

who's washed away.

Only his mother
can save him.

Nalla battles to save
the rest of the babies.

Kadogo is reached.

But they're far from safe.

Upstream,
Nalla and her family

corral their young,

steering them
to the shallows.

One by one,
they're saved.

But not all made it back.

Nalla's sister is missing.

And so is little Kadogo.

Nalla must find them,
wherever they may be.

Forces faraway
caused the floods.

But it's our families
who suffer the consequences.

What seems like a refuge
can so easily become a trap.

Bakari and his troop
are marooned.

And, still,
the waters rise.

As leader,
Bakari's duty

is to guide them to safety.

But how?

Bakari's solutions
are never predictable.

Cheka,
the ruling female, follows...

with their baby.

Their adopted son is next.

As is the baboons' way,

each has a place in line.

In a hierarchy,
someone has to be last.

A female deposed by Cheka
when Bakari became leader.

Bibi may have lost
her position,

but she'll never be
a follower.

Bibi's safe,
but alone.

The zebra are picking
their way

through the maze
of new rivers.

Where Shani leads,
her foal follows,

as does the rest
of her family.

Punda, their stallion,
brings up the rear.

As leader,
it falls on Shani

to find a way through.

But the current is strong,

Punda powerless.

But he won't let her
out of his sight.

Relief is sweet.

But, even sweeter,
her courage was not in vain.

She's found a safer way
through.

For those bound
to the land,

their world is shrinking.

Aiysha the cheetah has been
forced to higher ground.

Daughter Tekike,
a celebrated huntress,

she now has a family
of her own.

But she's
coaching her cubs

in unfamiliar territory.

Conditions are far from ideal.

But it won't deter Duma,

a cub too fearless
for his own good.

For every difficulty,
an opportunity.

Rain can hinder her.

It can also conceal her.

While Duma
is keen to help,

his sisters stay back.

He's never one
for following the rules.

Like staying hidden.

A humiliation
for Duma,

disappointment for his mother.

Somehow, she must curb
his enthusiasm.

The rain won't
make her task any easier.

Even without the floods,

keeping offspring alive

is every mother's
preoccupation.

One of Kali's cubs
was killed.

By whom?

She may never know.

But two may have survived.

How can she find them
in a land

that's unrecognizable?

Her pride lands
now belong to the hippos.

This is no time
for hunting.

Gnu is safe today.

All Kali needs
is a sign of life.

Willing it
doesn't make it so.

The enemy
Aiysha fears the most.

Aiysha could outrun her.

Her cubs can't.

She must tackle Kali
another way.

Kali has dealt
with many cheetahs,

but she's never been
chased by one.

Duma is learning
the power of surprise.

Little by little,
Aiysha draws Kali away.

Today, Kali has more
pressing concerns.

While Aiysha's cubs

have learned
a valuable lesson.

For us all, the floods
have changed everything.

Life gathers
on what little land remains.

But, for the leopards,

hunting has one
small problem.

They don't like water.

Her cubs
haven't seen rain before.

Their mother
hasn't seen quite so much.

But Muzuri has a plan.

Climb a tree...

and sit it out.

Nalla's family
has searched tirelessly

for her sister and Kadogo.

They'll never give up.

But the youngsters
are exhausted and thirsty.

They aren't
the only ones displaced

by the floods.

A crocodile left behind
when the floods subsided.

Nalla has
the wisdom of her years,

but nothing
could prepare her for this.

Thirst unquenched,

the search for their
loved ones continues.

Bakari's troop
are still picking their way

through the flooded land.

While Cheka
looks after their baby,

Bakari takes care
of their son.

He's now old
enough to swim on his own.

But you don't know
you're in deep

till you're in deep.

And the current's strong.

He has
his father's determination.

And if he can do it,

so can the others.

Every adventure
feeds an appetite.

And the water
lilies are blooming.

The buds
are a feast for all.

But there's one
who's missing out.

Bibi,
the female they left behind.

As leader,
Bakari has pick off the bunch.

Cheka, too, is enjoying
her privileges.

It's not the best time
for Bibi to arrive.

The troop who once fawned
over her

haven't left her a scrap.

Or, rather, Cheka hasn't.

For Bibi,

it's a provocation too far.

This time,
Bakari tries to ignore it.

But it's a grudge
that's not going away.

The flood has drawn

some of the hyenas
back together.

A chance for Zalika

and some of her clan
to meet once more.

But, with cubs to feed,

the reunion is brief.

The wildebeest
are in a playful mood.

Gnu is gaining
in confidence.

But with confidence

comes a thirst
for adventure.

A chance to meet
the neighbors.

Shani and her foal
are just as unfriendly.

Gnu doesn't belong here.

He doesn't seem
to belong anywhere.

There's only one place

he should really be,

but his mother is lost
in the crowd.

[rain pattering

It's not the time
to be alone,

but it is the time
for hunters.

Then the sight
that could save him.

Much to Zalika's frustration.

Here, young learn

life lessons the hard way.

A mistake survived
is never forgotten.

The world
around us is changing...

and it's happening faster
than ever before.

The leopards
sat out the rain

but they can't stay
hungry forever.

As the floods subside,

their hunting
grounds reemerge.

It's a chance for her cubs

to resume their lessons.

Today,
they're learning stealth,

but keeping still

doesn't come easy
to the young.

Neither does patience.

How hard can hunting be?

They seem easy to reach.

But guineafowl
have a trick of their own.

Meanwhile, they've missed

an important lesson.

How to catch an impala.

The cubs
have more to learn,

what to do with their bounty.

For now, why bother?

There's a far easier meal
to enjoy.

Not all are so fortunate.

Kali's cubs are still missing.

She's in unfamiliar territory

far above the pride lands.

Here, buffalo reign.

And Kali's alone.

The buffalo are in no hurry.

One slip
and she'll be gored to death.

It was close
and it was also a warning.

Searching for her cubs

is too dangerous on her own.

Shani's family
have reached safety

in the highlands.

But so have others,

a band of young stallions

out to seize a female.

This time,
they come in force.

Punda is outnumbered.

But he'll do
whatever it takes,

anything to protect Shani
and her foal.

Shani gets
her chance to escape.

But Punda
is overwhelmed.

He can only
take on one at a time...

a chance for the others
to make their move.

They separate
a female from his herd.

Punda fights on...

but the mare is taken.

There was nothing
more he could do.

Loss can be painful
but, for all of us,

it goes with being alive.

Aiysha's cubs
are changing fast.

And their appetites
are growing.

For now,
Gnu would be perfect.

But he now knows
where to hide.

Duma has learned
few outrun a cheetah,

but speed comes
at the expense of strength.

And the cubs
are vulnerable.

But Aiysha has courage, too.

Anything his mother does,

Duma believes he can do too.

But courage is also knowing
when not to fight.

Which is not exciting
enough for Duma.

He prefers to be brave.

One day,
he'll be frightening, too.

It was
a good effort from Duma

but today's star student
is Gnu.

Nalla's desperate
search continues.

A whisper
on the breeze

is all they need.

At last,
the wind brings hope.

The scent
is getting stronger.

But where
will it lead?

As the land drains,

the baboons
can stop traveling.

As usual,
Bakari stays on duty,

as Cheka is revered.

Befriending the lead
female is a way

to move up the pecking order.

Doting on her baby
is also a good ploy.

But Cheka's protective.

She has
good reason.

Bibi once tried
to steal her baby.

If she tried before,
she might again.

Attacking Cheka
only made her an outcast.

It could all change

if she could win over Bakari.

He rejected her before.

Nothing's changed.

But perhaps
she gave up too easily.

Cheka's position
is starting

to look precarious.

The cheetah cubs
are learning fast.

Even Duma.

But cheetahs
can't always keep their catch.

Male cheetahs
hunt together.

Today, Aiysha has done
their work for them.

She's no match
for them,

but she'll fight
to keep her cubs' meal.

All is not
as it seems.

A scent remembered

from days
at their mother's side...

a bond that's still unbroken.

Aiysha left
her brothers to live alone,

as sisters do.

Alone is how
they'll leave her.

Duma is learning
the hardest lesson of all.

Everything must change.

One day, he, too,
will leave his mother

to hunt with other males.

These moments are precious.

She and her offspring
won't be together forever.

Kali can search alone

for her cubs no more.

She's returned
to where

she should find protection.

But will she find help?

A sister
is reassuring.

But there's more.

Her cubs
have found their own way

back to the pride.

Not all
are so welcoming,

but her misgivings
around Sefu will wait.

For now, it's a reunion
to savor.

To be back
with those we cherish

is to be back where we belong.

Nalla and her family

are nearing the end
of their search.

The trail was true

but the reunion cruel.

In a sisterhood
of unbreakable kin,

she was Nalla's dearest.

In our land,

death is a familiar companion.

And some deaths
bring us together.

From across the plains,

the great elephant
families arrive

to show their respects.

For a brief moment,

grief unites them all.

However hard,

we must all accept change

and embrace the future.

As is the way
of our world,

what remains now sustains
the living.

Nalla found
her sister too late,

but Kadogo
may still be out there.

If he is, they will find him.

But is there hope
on the horizon?

Our land may recover
and renew,

but nothing will be the same.

New neighbors move in.

Grudges deepen.

And old enemies return.
