Sanctuary (2008–2011): Season 4, Episode 10 - Acolyte - full transcript

A radical group of abnormal beings plan a terrorist attack with the goal of starting a war between surface dwellers and hollow Earth inhabitants. To Magnus' disbelief, Addison, at the NSA, has proof of Biggie's leadership of the group.

Previously on Sanctuary...

[Magnus]: What do we know about
this Addison fellow himself?

[Will]: He's the UN Security
Council's top trouble-shooter.

[Addison]: You've sent
the Hollow Earth Osama home

to re-arm and re-group.

[Magnus]: Get out.

[Addison]: You just signed
the Sanctuary's death warrant.

[Galvo]: My group came here
to claim this land as our own,

to win back the surface
from those self-entitled humans.

[Bigfoot]: Enough...

[Will]: It's a whole
new world out there.

Factions of abnormals
killing each other,

plotting to kill us...

It's only going
to get worse, isn't it?

Henry, where's this road, man?

Should be just up ahead.

[Will]: It should be?

Come on, we're running
out of time here.

Yeah, I know.

Any word from Magnus?

No, nothing.

They're both inside.

Damn.

Henry, SCIU's got
this side locked off.

We need another way around.

This is the way around.

We gotta run it.

[Henry]: Wait, Will!

H-hold on a second.

[Henry]: What time you got?

Son of a bitch, it's noon.
Come on.

[Guards]: Don't move!
Stop right there!

[Will]: Magnus, come in.

You've got to
get out of there now--

My god.

[???]

[Will]: Magnus, it disgusts me.

It is disgusting.

[Magnus]: It's part of
their usual behavior.

Some abnormals prefer
to eat in private.

Others, like the Besovites,
require your complete attention.

They're exhibitionists.

[Will]: They smear their food
all over each other

and then lick it off.

It's like watching
the Animal Planet version

of "9 1/2 Weeks"!

[Magnus]: Well, I find that if you
just sit back and relax,

it can actually be
quite enjoyable.

[Will]: Okay, stop it,
you-you are lying now.

[Magnus]: Yes, I am.

[Will]: What about Henry?

[Magnus]: He's in charge of
clearing out their habitat.

[Will]: Biggie?

[Magnus]: He's halfway to
Hollow Earth, I'm afraid.

[Will]: Can't you do it?

Forget I said that.

Oh, hey, what about
a mannequin?

[Magnus]: Will, believe me,

over the years,
I have tried everything.

The Besovites always know.

There really is no substitute
for sitting and watching.

I'll make you some popcorn--

[Henry]: Doc!

There's a call from Declan,
priority channel.

[Magnus]:
Declan, what's going on?

I'm sorry to disturb you,
but there's someone here

who needs to speak
to you right away.

Kate!

[Kate]: Hey, Doc! Will, Hank.

It's good to see you.

[Henry]:
How's life in the tunnels?

Good, but something's come up.

[Will]: What's wrong?

[Kate]: Two days ago,

a group of abnormals arrived
back in Hollow Earth.

[Magnus]:
Yes, I arranged transport

through the Moscow
Sanctuary.

Did something happen?

One of them came to me,

a Takterran
by the name of Sephis.

He said he had information

about a terrorist attack
being planned on the surface.

By whom?

[Declan]: Fanatic abnormals.

They're trying to strike
at key targets

to start a human-abnormal war.

[Will]: Yeah, we've run into
those guys before.

What's the target?

[Kate]: No idea.

All he was able to tell me

is that it's been
planned for months,

and that the group behind it

definitely has the power
and the connections to pull it off.

Where's he getting
his information?

Another Takterran,
a guy named Oren,

deeply embedded
in the abnormal faction.

[Kate]: Sephis told me they were
out drinking one night,

and Oren spilled the beans.

Look, I don't know
if this is legit or not,

but Sephis was pretty shaken up.

I figured it was worth a trip
to warn you guys.

Absolutely,
you did the right thing.

Thank you.

Apparently this Oren fellow

works out of a terrorist cell
right here in London.

I'm thinking we should
stake out his favorite pub

and pick him up.

Good idea, but do it covertly.

We don't want to tip off
the rest of the group.

[Declan]: Understood.
We'll be in touch.

All right.

[beeps off console]

[Will]: What do you think?

How do you feel about
a trip to London?

Hey, if it gets me out of
the Besovite ballet,

I am all for it.

[Magnus]: Henry, call up
everything we have

on the abnormal insurgency.

Scour our usual channels,

see if we can find
a potential target.

Yeah, I'm on it.

Um, Doc, what about the Big Guy?

Ah.

Leave a message for him
at his next checkpoint.

There's really no point

in him going
to Hollow Earth anymore.

[Henry]: Okay.

[clock tower chiming]

[Kate]: Will!

[laughing in delight]

Ah...

It is really great to see you.

[Will]: You too.

Wow, Hollow Earth
clearly agrees with you.

[Kate]: How was the flight?

[Will]: Oh, man,

Business Class
is not what it used to be.

[Kate]: Try riding a giant
Yurka Beetle for 12 hours

in search of an active gateway.

[Will]: Do they serve meals?

[she laughs]

[Will]: So, what's the latest?

[Kate]: Um, we just got back.

Found Oren at
his local watering hole.

The guy likes to
get his drink on.

[Will]: So, where is he now?

[Kate]: Isolation room.

[Will]: Is he
sober enough to talk?

[Kate]: Does it matter?

[Will]: He looks dead.

[Kate]: No, that's just

the Takterran
defense mechanism.

Hey.

[Will]: Okay, just relax.

We're not going to hurt you.

We're not SCIU,
we're not Lotus,

we just want
some information.

I have nothing to say to you.

[Kate]: Hmm, see, that's
not your best move.

We know about the attack.

[Oren]: Sephis...

[Kate]: Hey, don't blame him.

You're the one
who opened your big mouth.

[Will]: Your people are about
to make a mistake.

If this attack goes through,

there's gonna be
serious consequences.

[Oren]: It'll be worth it

to see your blood
soak into the earth

so those underground
can taste our victory.

[Will]: Okay, okay.

Spare me the
"Death to the Infidels" speech.

What do you want?

You have nothing to offer me.

[Will]: We can take you
back to Hollow Earth.

You and your entire crew.

[Oren]: And leave
the surface to you?

And why would we accept that?

[Will]: Because it's better
than the alternative.

You'll be hunted down
like beasts,

and the offer
which I've just given you,

you'll never get again.

And you wouldn't be
making this offer

if you weren't afraid.

It's proof that
our tactics are working.

- Oh, for god's sake--
- Oren...

Don't do this.

[whispers] I hope you die
like the rest of them.

Okay, let's go.

[computer beeps]

A-ha, there we go.

Now we're talking.

[beeping]

D-don't...
No, no, no, no, don't--

[computer beeps]

Bang, zoom!

[Magnus]: Wow.
Things are going well, I see.

Every time I get access

to one of
the priority databases,

CIA, FBI, SCIU,

I get kicked off
almost immediately.

I thought
I was on to something

with the Shin Bet cloud,

but the same thing happened.

Look, I'm sorry, Doc.

We've been voted off the island
in a big way.

And you haven't
been able to find anything

to confirm the attack.

Other than a couple of
vague intelligence dispatches,

but they have
less detail than we do.

All right, well, keep looking.

You're bound to find something
sooner or later.

[Henry]: I'm about to hack
into the Japanese IAS.

I might need an interpreter.

[Magnus]:
You know where to find me.

[Henry]: Hey, uh, Doc,
any word from Biggie?

[Magnus]: No, why?

Well, I left a message for him
at the checkpoint in Peru.

He should have got it by now.

Oh, he's probably just delayed.

You know
how difficult it is

for him to travel without
attracting attention.

[Declan]:
Any luck with our guest?

[Will]: Not so much.

He's got some
pretty strong beliefs

about the new world order.

[Declan]: Yeah, I'm sure,
but I may have some good news.

We've downloaded
all the video feeds

from the CCTV cameras
where Oren was caught,

then ran them through

our facial
recognition software.

And...

he was seen entering
or exiting this building

a total of 19 times
in the past week.

Hmm, score one
for Big Brother.

I'd hazard a guess

this is where
the splinter cell meets.

[smashing]

[Agents, distantly]:
There are bodies in here.

Abnormal and human.

There's some in here too.

Looks like
somebody got here first.

So, the place is trashed.

[Henry]: A SCIU hit?

No, I don't think so.

The shootings are sloppy,
unprofessional.

I'm thinking the rebels.

How long ago did this happen?

[Will]: Less than a day.

The bodies are still fresh.

[Henry]: I don't get it.

Why kill people
on your own team?

[Magnus]: Consolidation.

Reduce the risk
of an information leak

by eliminating
all non-essential personnel.

Lovely.

[Will]:
Well, that's what you get

for swimming with sharks.

[Magnus]: Unfortunately, this
only bolsters the idea

that an attack is imminent.

You wouldn't resort to this step
unless everything was in place.

[Kate]: Will!

[Will]: Hold on,
Kate's got something.

[Magnus]: What is it?

[Kate]: A shipping document,
but the address is burnt off.

The only letters
I can read are...

"S-B-O-A".

[Henry]: I can run
a matching algorithm,

see if I come up
with any options.

Lisbon.

Portugal?

[Magnus]: Yeah, the Portuguese
spell it "L-I-S-B-O-A."

Now, if they were shipping
something there...

We could be looking at
a second cell.

Henry, go back

and look for anything
related to Lisbon or Portugal.

Maybe we'll get lucky.

Will, Kate, we'll be in touch.

All right.

[Will]: Hard at work, I see.

[laughs]

[Kate]: It's been a long time
since I felt that.

They have spectrum beds
down there,

but it's just not the same.

[Will]: You know, you can
come back topside

anytime you want.

I'm sure Magnus can find
a replacement for you down there.

[starts to speak, then stops]

[Will]: But...?

It's hard to explain.

What's happening down there,
Will, it's incredible.

Since Praxis fell,
everything is brand new.

I feel like a pioneer.

Everyone is so focused
on the future.

It's like
the past doesn't exist.

It doesn't matter
where you came from,

or what you've done.

You could be
whoever you want to.

Does that make any sense?

[Will]: Yeah.
It sounds amazing.

But, you know, you can be
whoever you want to be

up here with us, too.

There's more to it than that.

Garris.

These hard drives are toast.

Come on, I got a better idea.

[Henry]: So I hacked into
the SIS database...

[Magnus]: "SIS"?

[Henry]: The Portuguese Security
Intelligence Service.

It's a lame acronym, I know,

especially when you got
a "P," an "I,"

and two "S"s to work with--

- Onward.
- Anyway...

I figured if anything big
was going on in Lisbon,

these guys would know about it,

so after a couple
of blind alleys

and a game of cat and mouse
with a system administrator...

Encrypted travel itineraries.

Now, I didn't even
know what I had

until I broke the code
and saw this.

[Magnus]: "Greg Addison."
[Henry]: Mr. Black Hat himself.

Do you recognize
any of the other names?

[Magnus]: Hagan Kiersted,
Mashita Narumi,

these are all people
who deal with abnormals.

It looks like they're all
getting together in Lisbon

to consolidate
under the SCIU banner.

[Henry]: And Tesla?

[Magnus]: Is not on the list,
small mercies.

[Henry]:
Okay, so what do we do?

Well, I'm afraid
we have no choice.

We have to warn Addison.

Really?

Really really?

I may not agree
with what these people do,

but they don't deserve
to be victimized.

Send me a copy of this

and get in touch with
Will and Kate.

[beeping door code]

[Will]: You're free to go.

[Oren chuckles]
What's the catch?

[Kate]: No catch.

You made it pretty clear

you're not going to
tell us anything.

[Will]: Besides, we can't
risk keeping you here

after what happened
to your friends.

What do you mean?

What...

Who did this?

We were hoping
that you could tell us.

[Will]: Look, I understand

you didn't want to
betray your friends,

but that doesn't seem all that
relevant anymore, does it?

Whoever's planning this
has no loyalty.

They will kill anybody
who they think is expendable.

So you have two choices.

You can cooperate with us,

or you can take your chances
out there.

What do you want me to do?

Tell us everything you know
about the attack.

I don't know anything.

I don't.
We weren't given any details.

What about Lisbon?

We have reason to believe
the target is there.

We've been sending detonators
to a group like ours in Lisbon

all week.

You have an address?

[Addison]:
Well, I really don't care

who you have to disappoint.

If you don't have one
gassed up and ready to go

by 9:00 a.m.
tomorrow morning at Laughlin,

I will personally--
[smashing and crashing]

Call me back.

[furniture crashing,
combatants struggling]

Sorry, but I did warn them
it was urgent that I see you.

[Addison]: Well, then,
I'm all ears.

[Magnus]: I know about
the upcoming SCIU summit

in Lisbon.

That's supposed
to be a secret.

[Magnus]: I'm not
the only one who knows.

There's a radical group
of Hollow Earth abnormals

who intend
to disrupt the summit

with some kind of attack.

[Addison]:
Where did you hear this?

I'm not at liberty to say.

Of course not.

[Magnus]: I'm sorry.

I wish I could
give you more details,

but I thought it was important
to inform you sooner

rather than later.

I appreciate that,

but I have to say

I'm a little surprised that
you're coming to me with this.

I admit I was torn,

but ultimately,
there are lives at stake.

That's not what I mean.

I'm surprised
you're coming to me

because I thought
your people were behind it.

Behind the attack?

You can't be serious.

[Addison]: Why not?

I'm capable
of gathering evidence,

just like you.

Of what?

You really don't know, do you?

I don't understand.
What is this?

Every one of the abnormals
in those photos

is a hard-core extremist,

the ones responsible for
the attack in Lisbon.

And according to
my latest intel...

your Sasquatch
is their new leader.

[Magnus]:
You must be joking.

He has been a loyal friend
for over 50 years.

Well, then,
maybe you can explain

why he's chumming around

with the abnormal
equivalent of Al Qaeda.

Truthfully, I can't,
but there must be a good reason.

Then bring him in.
We'll question him together.

I'll do no such thing.

[Addison]:
Fine, I'll come to you.

We'll talk to him
on your turf.

You can't
do that either, can you,

because you have
no idea where he is.

This is ridiculous.

I have known him
longer than you've been alive.

He is incapable
of such duplicity--

[Addison]:
Open your eyes, doctor.

Times have changed.

Abnormals like your friend here

are under enormous pressure
to choose sides--

He did choose, a long time ago.

You think this is my only intel?

Doctor, I have a room
full of recordings

of your boy here,

coordinating, planning,

fraternizing with creatures

I consider to be public enemies
number one through five.

Now, frankly, I don't care
whether you believe me or not,

but you need to know
how serious this is.

Your tall hairy friend here
is an enemy target.

Now, I am advising you
to stay well out of my way.

If you don't,
I will come after you too.

No way, no how.

The Big Guy would never
do something like this.

That's what I said.

[Will]: Do you remember
how upset he was

when Galvo killed
the Redstone abnormals?

Or when he found out about
these radical groups

in the first place?

[Magnus]: Of course I do.

It must be a mistake.

I've tasked Henry with getting
to the bottom of it.

[Will]: Well, don't worry.

We'll hear from
the Big Guy soon,

and all this will be sorted.

I hope you're right,

but in the meantime,
you need to be on the alert,

just in case you run into him, or SCIU.

I'll spread the word.

We're at the Lisbon address now,
we're getting ready to go in.

Be careful.

Always.

[door creaks open]

Someone's here.

Take cover!

Get down!

[roaring with effort]

From below, we rise!

[Kate]: Nice shooting.

[Magnus]: Henry?

What is it?

[Henry]: I changed the security
passwords like you asked,

looked for evidence
the photos had been doctored,

anything that could absolve
the Big Guy.

And?

Nothing.

So I searched his room.

I'm sorry, Doc,
I know I shouldn't have.

Did you find anything?

[Bigfoot]: I pledge to serve
the cause that is just...

I pledge to kill
for the cause that is just!

I pledge to die

for the cause that is just!

[cheering and shouting]

He's faking it, right?
It's a fake.

He's working an angle,
he's gotta be.

I don't think so,
not without telling me.

Then why is he acting like this?

There's gotta be a reason,
something must have happened.

[she sighs] No.

[Henry]: Doc?

[banging on glass]

[Magnus]: Get up!

[Henry]: Doc, he's in

a drug-induced
coma, remember?

[banging angrily]

Get up,

or I swear to God
I will vent the oxygen

from this room.

Last chance!

What took you so long?

[Henry]: You're awake!

He's awake!

Yes, and he has
some explaining to do.

[Henry]:
Ooh, what about his mind powers?

Aren't we--?

[Magnus]: We're protected by
the shielding on this enclosure.

We're safe as long as
we don't go inside,

which is, I suspect,
how you were able

to overpower my friend.

Oh, such a nice fellow.

So punctual with
his daily feedings.

[Crixorum]:
It took months of effort,

but little by little,

I was able to open
a tiny door into his mind.

[Magnus]: How? You were--

Unconscious?

Yes, but even in that state,
I'm able to project my desires.

Probably wouldn't have
worked on a human,

but as you know...

His species has
an enlarged frontal lobe.

It makes him prone to trust.

Eventually, I was able
to implant the suggestion

to reduce the dose
of the sedative.

Once I was fully awake--

[Henry]:
He never had a chance.

What have you done to him?

I re-mapped
his neural pathways

to carry out my wishes.

You son of a bitch!

Henry.

Why didn't you go with him?
Why did you stay behind?

I couldn't risk alerting you.

Besides, I like it here.

Well, that was
a very bad decision,

because now
you will never be free.

[Crixorum]:
I wouldn't count on that.

Once my followers succeed

in sowing chaos
here on the surface,

you'll have no choice
but to come to me for help.

[Henry]: Wait, Doc.

He can communicate
long distances.

He can command Biggie
to come back here.

Sure. All you have to do
is drop the shielding,

but that wouldn't matter anyway.

I can't reverse what I've done.

The re-mapping
of your friend's brain

is permanent,

a necessary step
to ensure complete compliance.

[Will]: That was fast.

[Kate]:
It was a waste of time.

None of these guys know
anything about the attack.

I'm starting to think
we're chasing our tails.

- Yeah, you and me both.
- Why?

[Will]: Well, look,
according to this data,

the attack is happening
tomorrow morning

at the hotel where
the summit's being held.

Well, that's good, isn't it?

Oh, yeah, sure.

Look, it's all there, blueprints,
staff schedules,

even the make and model
of the rental car

they're using
to infiltrate the hotel.

It's too specific.

[Will]: Exactly.

I mean, there's no way

they're going to leave
this information

just lying around
for anyone to see.

Something's not right.

You think this is all a decoy?

If it is,
it's pretty elaborate,

which means they're covering up
something pretty big.

You're certain of this?

[Will]: Not entirely,

but more and more,
things just don't seem right.

[Magnus]: When I told Addison
the rebels knew about Lisbon,

he barely batted an eye.

[Kate]: Maybe he figures
he's got his bases covered.

[Magnus]: Perhaps.

Or maybe he doesn't care about
an abnormal attack in Lisbon

because the SCIU summit
is taking place elsewhere.

[Henry]: What about those
itineraries I found?

SCIU diplomats
flying into Lisbon

from all over the world?

[Magnus]: Some of those flights
would have already departed,

would they not?

Let's pull up
the passenger manifests.

[Henry]: Uh, okay...

Flight 983 from Manila,
passenger Ferdinand Pangarap...

Never checked in.

[typing rapidly]

None of them did.

[Declan]: So this whole
Lisbon thing is a misdirect?

Designed to fool the abnormals
into attacking the wrong site.

Except it didn't work,

and the abnormals
we caught here are just pawns.

Meaning that the real attack
is still going forward,

only we have no idea where
or when it's taking place.

Addison and his people
are walking into a trap.

What do we do?
Contact him again?

I have a better idea.

[Will]: Whoa-ho...
Where are you going?

To end this uncertainty
once and for all.

I want all the details
of the upcoming attack.

I'm sorry, doctor.

You seem to be a fair person,

treated me quite well
under the circumstances,

but I've worked too long
and hard for this day

to throw it away now.

I was afraid
you were going to say that.

Killing me
won't solve your problem.

Oh, I have no intention
of killing you.

You see, I've been
reading about your kind.

It seems the Praxians
tried to wipe you out

What does that
have to do with this?

They found a way
to neutralize your powers

by removing a specialized
organ in your brain.

The iduary gland.

Those operations were barbaric.

Hundreds of my ancestors
were lobotomized.

Yes, they were.

[gas hissing]

What are you doing?

[Magnus]: It's a sedative
to knock you out for surgery.

You're bluffing.

I'll admit, I've never done
this operation before,

but you leave me no choice.

Naturally, I will take
every precaution.

[gasping]

Please... stop.

Details of the attack.

[gasping]

Quickly.

[cell phone rings]

Magnus.

[Magnus]:
The summit's happening

at the Gran Atlante Hotel
just outside of Buenos Aires.

The attack is scheduled
for noon tomorrow.

That's less than
12 hours from now.

[Magnus]: I'm already en route.

Henry's been trying
to get ahold of Addison,

but no luck.

[Will]: We're on our way.

[Magnus]:
Will, there's one more thing.

According to the Crixorum,

the attack is going
to be carried out

by a group of suicide bombers.

Biggie's one of them.

I'm afraid so.

For thousands of years,

the surface-dwellers
have kept us down.

We suffer for their tyranny,

bear the scars
of their brutality.

I myself
have been their prisoner

for over 50 years,

but the time of the uprising
is at hand.

From this day forward,

the occupiers shall be
consumed by fire

and drowned in blood.

We will die

so that others may live.

From below, we rise.

[Guard]:
No puede pasar, se?ora.

Solamente las personas
autorizadas.

I need to see Greg Addison.

Tengo que ver a Greg--
a Greg Addison.

[Addison]: Dr. Magnus?
It's okay.

[Addison]:
What are you doing here?

[Magnus]:
Why haven't you evacuated?

Didn't you get Henry's messages?

Yes, I got his messages,
all ten of them.

You think I somehow missed
the first nine?

Look, my men did a secondary
sweep of the building

this morning.

We have set up, as you can see,

a secure perimeter
around the entire hotel.

There's nothing
to worry about.

Really?
That's your position?

Unless you know otherwise.

These rebels that
you're so cavalier about

are the same ones
that figured out

you were trying to
misdirect them to Lisbon.

I wouldn't underestimate
their capabilities.

And what do you propose I do?

Evacuate the hotel.

Postpone the summit
before the deadline has passed.

And let them succeed
in their goal of disrupting it?

You don't know much

about dealing with
terrorists, doctor.

And you don't know much
about dealing with abnormals.

Look, you're worried
about your Sasquatch,

I get it,

but he made his choice.

Now, if he and his buddies
are stupid enough

to launch an attack
under these circumstances,

I can't help him.

You've wasted your time
coming down here.

[Bigfoot]: Our mission
is almost complete.

Soon the surface
will have no choice

but to heed our demands.

From below, we rise.

[Kate]: Doc!

[Magnus]: Kate! Thank god.
Where are Will and Declan?

[Kate]:
We ran into some trouble.

They bought me some time.

What's going on?

We need to get into the hotel
and past the security.

The old-fashioned way?

[Guard]: Se?ora, ahora.

[Magnus]: Yeah.

[Addison]: Son of a...

Hey! Stop those two!

Whoa, whoa! Stand down!

[Guard, over radio]: Sir?

What!

[Guard]: We've had
a security breach.

Yes, I know that,
I just called it in.

[Guard]: No, sir.
Earlier today.

I've sent stills
to your tablet.

They got in via
the rear access road.

Evacuate the hotel.

[slams truck]

[Magnus]: They cleared out
all but a few service vehicles

in advance of the summit.

[Kate]:
So where would he be hiding?

[Magnus]: According to
the Crixorum,

this hotel has
four elevator shafts.

The plan was to detonate
a bomb on this level

next to each one.

[Kate]: I'll check this way.

Stay back.

[barking defiantly]

Dear god.

[Addison]: Yeah, make sure

you keep someone
in that stairwell.

Oh, great.
You too now.

[Will]: Where's Magnus?

[Addison]: Inside.

[Declan]: You let her in?

[Addison]: Let her?
No, I did not let her.

She and her friend
went all Krav Maga on my men.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Not a chance.

We're evacuating
the entire building.

No one's going in there.

[Declan]: What do we do now?

Why are you here?

[Magnus]: I came to help you.
You're sick.

Stay back!

[Magnus]: Please, listen to me.

You're not yourself.

You've been brainwashed.

The Crixorum
re-mapped your brain,

made you feel anger
and resentment.

No, I have always
felt this way.

[Magnus]: No.

You detest violence.

You are one of
the most peaceful beings

I have ever known.

You are lying.

You're only trying
to confuse me.

[Will]: H., it's Will.

We need another way
into the hotel.

[Henry]: Sure thing.

[rapid typing]

Uh, okay, there should be
an access road

on the other side
of the grounds.

How far?

[Henry]:
From the front entrance,

I'd say it's about
a good four miles.

[Will]: Okay, keep going.

I am your oldest friend.

Please.
There's not much time.

Just take off the vest.

Hmm.

[starts pulling velcro]

No...

I pledge to serve
the cause that is just--

[Magnus]: Wait.
You don't have to do this.

I pledge to kill
for the cause that is just.

Please, listen to me!

[Bigfoot]: I pledge to die

for the cause that is just!

[thud]

[sighs in relief]

Thank god.

Quickly, let's get him
out of here.

[Kate]: Oh, Doc,
we got a problem.

Two minutes
till they all blow.

[Magnus]: All right,
let's get this vest off him.

Get him into that van.

[Will]: Henry,
where's this road, man?

Should be just up ahead.

Any word from Magnus?

No, nothing.

They're both inside.

[Declan]: Damn.

Henry, SCIU's got
this side locked off.

We need another way around.

This is the way around.

We've gotta run it.

[Henry]: Wait, Will!

H-Hold on a second.

[Henry]: What time you got?

Son of a bitch, it's noon.

[Guards]: Don't move!
Stop right there!

[Will]: Magnus, come in.

You gotta get
out of there now--

[Declan]: My god.

Magnus!

Kate!

Anybody, come in!

[Will]: Magnus, come in.

Kate, anyone, come in.

Magnus, if you can read me,
please respond.

Magnus!

Magnus, please!

[gasps and groans]

Will...

this is Magnus, do you copy?

Don't ever scare me
like that again.

Are you okay?

No. We need help.

[groans]

[Kate coughs]

[she groans softly]

Ow.

[Will]: Yeah, I'd say so.

How long have I been out for?

A week.

A week?

[Will]: Yeah.

You took a pretty bad hit.
Magnus had to operate twice.

What happened?

The hotel--

It was evacuated
before the explosion.

There were 11 casualties,

including
three suicide bombers.

Unfortunately hasn't done much

to change world opinion
about the attacks.

Most world leaders are
calling for an all-out war

against the abnormals.

That's exactly
what they wanted.

I'm sorry...

Wait, the Big Guy, what--

[Will]: He's fine.

Well...
he's getting better.

[sighs in relief]

Good.

[Will]: Magnus has been
trying to undo

the damage
done by the Crixorum

using the help of Sally.

The mermaid?

[Will]: Yeah.

I think it's working.

His memories are coming back...

But he feels terrible
about what happened.

I'd like to see him.

I think he'd appreciate that.

Did the doc say

when I'll be well enough
to travel?

Calm down, okay?
You just woke up.

I just really should be
getting back to Hollow Earth.

People will be worried.

Is that a...
Herusan promise band?

From Garris?

I looked it up.

Yes.

Congratulations.

Thanks.

...we bear the scars
of their brutality.

I myself
have been their prisoner

for over 50 years--

I'm sorry.

[Bigfoot]: That's all right.

[Magnus]: Thank you.
Wait.

[she sighs] Please sit.

[Magnus]: What you said.
About being a prisoner--

[Bigfoot]: I didn't mean it.

[Magnus]:
Are you certain?

Because if you ever
wanted to leave--

[Bigfoot]: You know I don't.

I... feel at home here.

I always have.

Things will get better,
you know.

I have to live
with what I've done.

I know you feel terrible,

but you have to stop
beating yourself up.

I mean, if anyone should
feel guilty, it's me.

I'm the one who sent you
into that lion's den.

[Bigfoot]:
No, it's not your fault.

Nevertheless,
if it wasn't for me,

the Crixorum would never
have had a chance to attack you.

No...

You did what you felt was right.

Hmm.

But ultimately,
I caused you pain.

I knew there would be costs

when I chose to take
the Sanctuary down this path,

but I never intended
for you to pay the price.

I blow up a hotel,

almost kill--

You're the one
who's apologizing?

[chuckles ruefully]

[Bigfoot]: We need supplies.
I'll give Henry the list.

Why don't you go?

Huh?

Are you sure?

If you feel up to it.

Thank you.

[knocks deliberately]

From below, we rise.

[???]

Kinda hurt.
