RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked! (2010–…): Season 15, Episode 5 - House of Fashion - full transcript
The queens are stitched, glued and gooped after turning home decor into haute couture. A kiki with Janelle Monáe reminds them how inspiring they are to others.
I love every last one of you
not matter how much
I hate all y'all.
If you don't have star quality,
get the fuck out of here!
This is your moment!
Have it!
This is "Untucked"
backstage at the competition
to become America's next drag superstar.
Girl, if you're not watching "Untucked,"
you're only getting half the story.
Test, test.
Repo cameras to main stage.
Mistress Isabelle Brooks,
Aura Mayari, Spice,
Anetra, Loosey LaDuca,
Marcia Marcia Marcia,
you are all safe.
You may leave the stage.
Queens walking.
Werk, bitch.
- You okay, girl?
- Thrilled.
Thrilled.
The kitten heel versus
the stripper heel.
I'm slightly annoyed
that I'm safe,
because I feel like my garment
is quite sickening.
It took a lot of work,
and I would much rather
be on the stage getting critiqued
by the judges.
Oh, my God.
Oh!
This is the second outfit I've
ever made in my life,
and being safe, I feel good.
I feel like I fooled everybody.
Oops.
Repo "Untucked" cameras
to the Werk Room.
Send the queens in three, two, one.
- Ooh.
- Safe, safe, safe again.
Child.
- What do we have here?
- Yeah, I don't know.
Oh, taquitos.
- Can you open this?
- Oh, yes, yeah.
Oh, ladies, let me get out of this.
Let me get comfortable.
Y'all, who's happy to be safe?
- I'm thrilled to be safe.
- I am.
- I'm just happy to be safe,
because this outfit was about to rip apart
at the seams in two seconds, so...
After last week for me
being in the bottom three,
like, it feels good to be sitting here
with you guys.
Like, especially a sewing challenge.
I've sewn, like, one thing in my life.
This is the second thing.
- You look good.
- This is the second thing.
- I did really like my outfit,
and I was like,
"Maybe they'll put me in the top,"
but I'm happy to be safe.
No, honestly, though,
I love your drag.
Like, you just remind me of, like,
the nice, sweet... like...
You remind me of my grandmother.
No, no, no.
No, you, like, honestly, like,
your drag character is so, like,
sweet to me, like...
- I'm nicer in drag than I am out
of drag for sure.
Out of drag you'll cut a bitch,
- but in drag you cut the cookies.
- Exactly.
- Girl, that reading challenge,
you tore us up.
- It's almost like out of drag...
- I... I did.
Yeah, that reading challenge was fun.
I wish they did that every episode.
- Miss Malaysia, I really think you should
commit to the name Malaysia
and disappear like that flight.
Ohh!
I'm happy to be safe, but, like,
I feel like I've put so much work
into my outfit, bitch, like,
I literally patterned out a whole corset.
All my outfit is nonstretch, bitch.
I made a bag, a hat.
Like, I don't know what else I could have
done to impress y 'all, bitch.
- Regardless of placement, like,
this shows a lot about your skill level,
- and, like, that's really impressive.
- Yeah, for sure.
'Cause up until this point,
I mean, nothing is...
Ooh!
- Do y'all think they're taking
into account the reading challenge?
Do you think that will go
into the judging?
I don't...
No, 'cause they already...
- No, 'cause I won, and...
- She won.
- Yeah.
- They paid the doll.
- I mean, I got the money already.
That's all that matters.
Girl.
Oh! Those legs, girl.
- Are you shocked that Amethyst
is on the bottom or no?
I'm not.
- She was mortified.
- She really was.
- Yeah.
- Like, everyone helped her.
- But we had to finish our garments first.
- Right.
- Do you think the sequin
on the bottom is okay?
- You hate it?
- I don't like it.
That could be cute.
I, like, don't have eyes for, like...
I cannot stop, like, gushing over this.
- Thank you.
- Everything looks, like, finished
- and just so clean.
- Thanks.
- It was so strong.
- I liked the fabrics.
- Yeah, I mean, will, of course, like,
always hope for the top, of course,
but I'm not gonna complain
about being safe.
- But I feel good about this.
- What are you wearing?
- Oh, outfit change. Oh.
- Just got some drag, you know.
Hello, Miss Thing.
You know, I might have to stand,
'cause the ding-a-ling
is ding-a-linging.
- It's ding-a-linging.
- 'Cause honestly,
the next sewing challenge,
I think my motto is gonna be
just to wear the biggest,
longest wig I have to cover up
all the mishaps in the back.
Don't come for me, bitch.
Oh, no, not you.
- But I'm happy to be back here
with you girls, especially Spice.
- I was kind of nervous for you.
- You were nervous about me.
- 'Cause I know you don't sew.
- Right.
But I'm glad you got it together.
Yeah.
It's your first week kind of
being here without Sugar.
- How does that feel?
- How are you feeling?
- I've been trying to keep, like,
a happy face, but, like,
even yesterday during the Werk Room
I would look around, and, like,
it may sound corny, but, like,
I keep on thinking like, "Where is she?"
Like, I keep on, like, I don't know.
I fully thought that we were gonna have
this, like, fun experience together,
and now I'm realising
I'm doing it solo, like,
it was definitely an adjustment.
But I know, like, we have so many
more memories to come.
- And just... just know all of us
are also doing it solo.
- You know what I mean?
- Yeah.
I did have an advantage.
But now the training wheels are off.
It's go time.
- This being your first week on your own,
I think this is, like,
you should be really proud of yourself.
- I am proud. Yeah, thank you.
- This was, like, a super-tough week.
- You did a really good job.
- Thank you.
Werk, bitch.
- Do y'all know, like,
other twins or triplets or...
I have a twin sister.
- Oh, you do?
- Yeah, I have a twin sister.
- Oh, okay.
- I have three younger siblings.
- Wow.
- And do they know about Miss Anetra?
I don't know.
- I don't know.
- Oh, okay.
Yeah.
I don't speak to my family.
- Yeah, so I... I haven't seen, like,
my younger... oh, my God.
Like, I... I've watched, like,
my younger brothers, you know, grow up,
and you're like that third parent,
you know,
when you're the eldest sibling.
So I've kind of watched my siblings
grow up from afar, you know.
- Wow.
- I'm so sorry.
- Do you feel that you've, like,
found...
- That just is horrible.
- A family, like, since then?
- Yeah, I mean,
I have amazing chosen family
that I've found, but this,
you know, it's not the same.
- Mm-hmm, of course.
- Right.
- But still eternally grateful
for my chosen family.
- I love all of them.
- Yeah.
- I have a very similar experience.
I don't talk to my family at all.
And the way I look at it, fuck 'em.
I know I'm a fucking sickening person
if y'all wanted to get to know me, bitch.
At this point, it's their loss, so...
- I feel like that too some days.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, for sure.
- But some days I'm like,
"Damn, I just miss my family."
- I hate hearing, like,
sad stores like that,
'cause I can't relate.
But, like, at the same time,
I'm just, like, I feel...
- Thank you.
- I know.
- Girl, literally what I was thinking.
- No, no, no, no, no, not like that.
- That sucks for you.
- Not... not in that... not in that way.
- I know. I know.
- But it's just, like, like,
my mom, like, when I was growing up,
when I was two or three, girl, like,
she had, like, trans women
in our house for, like...
- Wow.
- Christmas, New Year's Eve.
- Fierce.
- Word up.
- And so growing up I already knew
what that was, and, like,
- at two or three I knew I was gay.
- Wow.
- Just because my mom surrounded me
with people like that.
Like, I can't relate, and I feel like
I can't really share my story
that my family's very supportive,
because I feel like I'm disregarding...
- No, no, no, no.
- Like, you know what I mean?
No, but that's so valid to share that.
Because that's what
we should strive for.
- And you're a good example.
- Absolutely.
- Yeah.
- Do you know what I mean?
Like, it's nice to hear the good,
you know.
- Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh.
- Guests, guests, guests.
- Oh.
- Uh-oh.
- Hi, girls.
- Get over here. Get over here.
Get over here.
I see some divalicious divas.
Malaysia, come here.
Come here.
- I don't know why she want me
to sit by her.
- You look so beautiful.
- Guys, we have...
We have literally no idea
what happened out there.
- Why don't we go one by one?
- Yes, one by one.
The top to the bottom, bitch.
Someone give me the tea.
- I know for sure that me
and Luxx, Sasha,
and Robin got good feedback.
- Okay.
- So I think we're in the top.
And it's probably out of me and Luxx.
Yeah, they were, like, living for me.
- I was very happy.
- Aww.
- They really liked my confidence
that I had wearing it.
They said that I sold it really well.
- Mm-hmm.
- You slayed.
- Yay.
- Good job, diva.
Thank you.
- Mine was very mixed,
they were giving me a lot of credit,
because they knew everything I did
was very, very hard.
'Cause I made the pleated skirt.
- I made the boot covers. And the jacket.
- The jacket.
- It was essentially just, like,
"We just wish the jacket fit better."
What about you two over here?
- I'm in the bottom.
They hated everything.
What?
- Yeah.
- Everything?
They said it was just, like, too much,
too much, too much, too much,
too much, too much.
And, like, I knew the comforter
would be, like, a risk,
'cause it still looked like a comforter,
but, like, it was a risk I was, like,
willing to take, you know,
so, like, I definitely think
I'm lip-synching tonight.
Yeah.
Robin.
Um, I think they really liked the look.
And for Janelle Monáe to say,
like, it's giving sexy regalness.
All of it is just giving me sexy.
It's giving me a hint of royalty.
You've killed it.
- That's kind of, like, what my drag is,
and for somebody to, like,
note that that's what I do is really nice.
- Yeah, overall good, overall good.
- Great.
And what about you two?
Oh, just same old same old.
Just the bottom girl,
always will be.
- No, no, no.
- What did they say, like, specifically?
- Michelle started off with, you know,
my makeup's really improving.
But they were not impressed
with my outfit.
You know, somebody who doesn't know
how to sew.
- And I just kind of threw this together.
- Yeah.
I think you look great.
- Yeah, we... we all look really great.
But somebody has to be in the bottom.
- Do you think you're in the bottom two?
- Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- Really?
- Yeah.
- I'm, like, kind of just fading into
the background
with all you amazing people.
But you're here with us,
so so are you.
- Yeah.
- Right. Right.
- And you've done great things, girl.
Your Tan Mom... down.
- Tan Mom.
- Down.
My one good thing.
- Hello, Tan Mom.
- Hi, RuPaul.
That's not barbecue you're smelling.
It's me.
- They love your performance and, like,
your comedic timing.
Yeah.
And you, Miss Thing?
- Not one note, honey.
Not one note.
No, literally.
They really enjoyed this.
- Yeah, they was really impressed
with the...
- Can you give us a twirl?
I didn't see it.
- I love a twirl.
- I love a twirl.
- And...
- Body beautiful.
Janelle Monáe said she would buy this.
Yes.
- Good job, girl.
- Thanks.
- I think I'm definitely in the top.
- Yes.
I mean, I got a lot of praises.
You know, this is my first time
being critiqued,
so she was saying, like,
even throughout the other runway
she noticed that I'm very well
put together,
- like very pageant girl.
- Pageant girls.
And they love that about me.
I think with this competition
the expectations we have for ourself
where we feel like we are so strong at,
that's where we're the weakest at
in this competition.
And the things that we feel
so insecure in
are the things that really push us
to the forefront.
- But you worked harder to try to prove
to yourself that you can do it.
- Versus, like, me thinking I'm funny
and, like, oh, it was just like...
- And then giving those terrible readings.
- I mean...
- Girl, you are stuck on these reads.
I'm finna read you.
Yeah, I'm about to say, like,
she keeps thinking that her reads
were good,
and I'm sorry, they were not.
- Uh-oh.
- I never said mine were good.
I would say that mine were better
than some.
Please.
She ain't nothing but an instigator.
- Fox News.
- Not Fox News.
There were some real bad ones.
There were some real bad ones
in the group for sure.
It's hurts.
- Mm-hmm.
- It's like...
- Yeah, but use that pain.
- Challenging everything, like, you know,
that I've worked so hard for.
- Mm-hmm, use that pain.
It's wild.
- Just let that go,
and this is your time to shine.
- You're gonna kill it.
- Yeah.
- The girl I know is the funniest,
cleverest girl
when performing, you know?
It's why we all fell in
love with you, girl.
Yeah, you got this. You got this.
Thank you, baby.
Mm.
You got this.
You gonna be good, you know,
but focus now.
- Thank you.
- Yeah, I got you.
- I love you.
- I love you so much.
- Of course I'm close with Sasha.
That's my LA sister.
She's like my guardian angel
through this process.
Because sometimes I get, like,
in my head, I'll think the worst.
Of course I got you.
If you need a hug or anything,
a kick in the ass, I got you.
Thank you.
- And I'm so happy we have each other.
It feels very comforting.
It just kind of fills my heart
and reminds me of who I am.
- Oh!
- Ohh!
Hello, my queens.
- Oh, my God.
It's Janelle Monáe.
- Oh, my God.
- Hi.
Hey, girl.
Bitch, opulence.
Y'all look so incredible.
I'm so happy and honoured to be here.
How are you guys feeling?
- Stressed.
- Stressed.
- I feel you.
- It's nice to be done with the first
sewing challenge, though.
That's a big hurdle.
- Yeah. I've been blown away
by everybody's
artistic expressions,
taking shower curtains and rugs
and creating this.
Like, as an artist, I am so inspired.
I'm so inspired.
Like, you have no idea
what it looks like for me
to watch you guys embrace your uniqueness.
It's just beautiful to watch you blooming
to be a part of
history being made,
'cause this is history...
- Yes.
- For the future.
- Right.
- 'Cause so many people will be inspired.
And they'll be like, "Because of you
I had the guts to get up
and do my thing."
- Werk.
- Ooh.
As an artist who has truly,
like, always stuck to your guns
and been, like, uniquely you,
how do you deal with people that, like,
just don't really understand you.
- Can't nobody tell me about me
more than I can tell myself about me.
- Yes.
- Exactly.
And to allow my voice
to be the loudest voice in the room.
That came from my therapist,
so...
There's so many moments
in my career, you know,
when I first started out where
people didn't get that I wanted to talk
about science fiction and androids and,
like, how the android represented
the other, you know,
represented blackness,
represented queerness,
represented minorities who are overlooked.
And I knew that there was a community
of people who looked like me
who wanted to prove
that we're not monolithic.
Who we are is a spectrum.
Some folks, we're not just
leaving room for nuance,
that I can do this, I can do this,
I can be that
and creating not a blueprint
but a you print.
- Yes.
- We really taking it in.
- We're soaking it up.
- I'm honestly latching on to every word.
- Every single word.
- Truly.
Janelle speaking to us,
she basically is ministering.
She is giving us the word we need.
Just hearing her talk is so captivating.
- I mean,
I'm inspired by this look right now.
- It's fascinating.
- Yes, ma'am.
What was, like, your inspiration?
Um, Janelle Monáe.
- Good answer.
- No, no, no, no.
- I've got to take Janelle back
to the main stage.
- I'm so sorry.
- Aww.
- And this is also a five-minute
warning for you as well.
I could listen to you all day.
- Just keep embracing the things
that make you unique
even if others don't even see it,
please.
- Yes.
- All right?
- Thank you.
- Thank you, queen.
Let me pick this up.
Which one of us are gonna steal that?
You can borrow any time, darling.
- Girls, let's get ready to go back
to the main stage,
- throw all this shit back on.
- Ohh.
Okay, bitch, it's time
to remember who the fuck I am.
Baby, I am bamboozled.
Ugh, what's happening?
Es Titties is really in the bottom
right now, this is wild.
I've got my nipples out.
I'm ready to take off my hoop earrings.
Girl, let's go.
I'm in the bottom again.
So I'm listening to my song,
and I'm just thinking to myself,
"You've done this twice before, girl.
You have to give it your all,"
and that's what I'm gonna do.
- Queens, that's it.
It's time to go.
- Let's head back to the main stage.
- Justin, you know what?
- I've had it.
- Let's do it.
- Wait.
- We're heading back.
Hair flip.
I do have to pee.
Welcome back, ladies.
I've made some decisions.
Amethyst, Salina,
the time has come
for you to lip sync
for your life.
Salina Estitties,
shantay, you stay.
Amethyst,
sashay away.
Okay.
I expected this.
But that doesn't mean
I'm less devastated.
I wanted to come here and prove
that even though I've only been doing this
for two and a half years,
I'm somebody that deserves this.
And I feel like I didn't prove myself.
Mm.
This was a fierce-ass season
with some really talented queens,
and I'm not unsure of my talents.
It's just I felt like I couldn't keep up.
And I feel a little bit disappointed,
a little bit proud of myself.
It's kind of a little bit of everything.
I'm a little under three years old,
but before coming out here
I probably should have learned
to sew a little bit.
So that's really my only regret.
I'm a little sad that I don't get
to showcase
any of my songwriting abilities.
I was really excited to, like,
write a really cool verse on, like,
a RuPaul song.
'Cause kind of like what I do
at home and online.
That's just kind of, like,
what my followers were
I feel like expecting from me.
Also, my lip syncs,
'cause that's what I'm known best for
on the internet and back at home.
I'm really glad I got to showcase
my lip-sync abilities not once,
not twice, but three times.
From Loosey, "Amethyst,
from the legendary house of 'Methyst.
I am so proud of you.
We're so lucky that we got to
experience this together.
You showed the world what you can do,
even if it was just the tip.
This is far from the end.
It's only the beginning.
I love you, Mama."
I really am gonna miss them.
But...
I am a good performer.
And I am a good drag queen.
Never good-bye,
always see you later.
I think the biggest takeaway
is not trying to do
what I think other people
want from me,
to stay true to myself,
and the growth is just gonna
keep on going.
The gem of the season
has left the building.
Toodles.
Can we get tacos?
not matter how much
I hate all y'all.
If you don't have star quality,
get the fuck out of here!
This is your moment!

it may sound corny, but, like,
I keep on thinking like, "Where is she?"
Like, I keep on, like, I don't know.
I fully thought that we were gonna have
this, like, fun experience together,
and now I'm realising
I'm doing it solo, like,
it was definitely an adjustment.
But I know, like, we have so many
more memories to come.
- And just... just know all of us
are also doing it solo.
- You know what I mean?
- Yeah.
I did have an advantage.
But now the training wheels are off.
It's go time.
- This being your first week on your own,
I think this is, like,
you should be really proud of yourself.
- I am proud. Yeah, thank you.
- This was, like, a super-tough week.
- You did a really good job.
- Thank you.
Werk, bitch.
- Do y'all know, like,
other twins or triplets or...
I have a twin sister.
- Oh, you do?
- Yeah, I have a twin sister.
- Oh, okay.
- I have three younger siblings.
- Wow.
- And do they know about Miss Anetra?
I don't know.
- I don't know.
- Oh, okay.
Yeah.
I don't speak to my family.
- Yeah, so I... I haven't seen, like,
my younger... oh, my God.
Like, I... I've watched, like,
my younger brothers, you know, grow up,
and you're like that third parent,
you know,
when you're the eldest sibling.
So I've kind of watched my siblings
grow up from afar, you know.
- Wow.
- I'm so sorry.
- Do you feel that you've, like,
found...
- That just is horrible.
- A family, like, since then?
- Yeah, I mean,
I have amazing chosen family
that I've found, but this,
you know, it's not the same.
- Mm-hmm, of course.
- Right.
- But still eternally grateful
for my chosen family.
- I love all of them.
- Yeah.
- I have a very similar experience.
I don't talk to my family at all.
And the way I look at it, fuck 'em.
I know I'm a fucking sickening person
if y'all wanted to get to know me, bitch.
At this point, it's their loss, so...
- I feel like that too some days.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, for sure.
- But some days I'm like,
"Damn, I just miss my family."
- I hate hearing, like,
sad stores like that,
'cause I can't relate.
But, like, at the same time,
I'm just, like, I feel...
- Thank you.
- I know.
- Girl, literally what I was thinking.
- No, no, no, no, no, not like that.
- That sucks for you.
- Not... not in that... not in that way.
- I know. I know.
- But it's just, like, like,
my mom, like, when I was growing up,
when I was two or three, girl, like,
she had, like, trans women
in our house for, like...
- Wow.
- Christmas, New Year's Eve.
- Fierce.
- Word up.
- And so growing up I already knew
what that was, and, like,
- at two or three I knew I was gay.
- Wow.
- Just because my mom surrounded me
with people like that.
Like, I can't relate, and I feel like
I can't really share my story
that my family's very supportive,
because I feel like I'm disregarding...
- No, no, no, no.
- Like, you know what I mean?
No, but that's so valid to share that.
Because that's what
we should strive for.
- And you're a good example.
- Absolutely.
- Yeah.
- Do you know what I mean?
Like, it's nice to hear the good,
you know.
- Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh.
- Guests, guests, guests.
- Oh.
- Uh-oh.
- Hi, girls.
- Get over here. Get over here.
Get over here.
I see some divalicious divas.
Malaysia, come here.
Come here.
- I don't know why she want me
to sit by her.
- You look so beautiful.
- Guys, we have...
We have literally no idea
what happened out there.
- Why don't we go one by one?
- Yes, one by one.
The top to the bottom, bitch.
Someone give me the tea.
- I know for sure that me
and Luxx, Sasha,
and Robin got good feedback.
- Okay.
- So I think we're in the top.
And it's probably out of me and Luxx.
Yeah, they were, like, living for me.
- I was very happy.
- Aww.
- They really liked my confidence
that I had wearing it.
They said that I sold it really well.
- Mm-hmm.
- You slayed.
- Yay.
- Good job, diva.
Thank you.
- Mine was very mixed,
they were giving me a lot of credit,
because they knew everything I did
was very, very hard.
'Cause I made the pleated skirt.
- I made the boot covers. And the jacket.
- The jacket.
- It was essentially just, like,
"We just wish the jacket fit better."
What about you two over here?
- I'm in the bottom.
They hated everything.
What?
- Yeah.
- Everything?
They said it was just, like, too much,
too much, too much, too much,
too much, too much.
And, like, I knew the comforter
would be, like, a risk,
'cause it still looked like a comforter,
but, like, it was a risk I was, like,
willing to take, you know,
so, like, I definitely think
I'm lip-synching tonight.
Yeah.
Robin.
Um, I think they really liked the look.
And for Janelle Monáe to say,
like, it's giving sexy regalness.
All of it is just giving me sexy.
It's giving me a hint of royalty.
You've killed it.
- That's kind of, like, what my drag is,
and for somebody to, like,
note that that's what I do is really nice.
- Yeah, overall good, overall good.
- Great.
And what about you two?
Oh, just same old same old.
Just the bottom girl,
always will be.
- No, no, no.
- What did they say, like, specifically?
- Michelle started off with, you know,
my makeup's really improving.
But they were not impressed
with my outfit.
You know, somebody who doesn't know
how to sew.
- And I just kind of threw this together.
- Yeah.
I think you look great.
- Yeah, we... we all look really great.
But somebody has to be in the bottom.
- Do you think you're in the bottom two?
- Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- Really?
- Yeah.
- I'm, like, kind of just fading into
the background
with all you amazing people.
But you're here with us,
so so are you.
- Yeah.
- Right. Right.
- And you've done great things, girl.
Your Tan Mom... down.
- Tan Mom.
- Down.
My one good thing.
- Hello, Tan Mom.
- Hi, RuPaul.
That's not barbecue you're smelling.
It's me.
- They love your performance and, like,
your comedic timing.
Yeah.
And you, Miss Thing?
- Not one note, honey.
Not one note.
No, literally.
They really enjoyed this.
- Yeah, they was really impressed
with the...
- Can you give us a twirl?
I didn't see it.
- I love a twirl.
- I love a twirl.
- And...
- Body beautiful.
Janelle Monáe said she would buy this.
Yes.
- Good job, girl.
- Thanks.
- I think I'm definitely in the top.
- Yes.
I mean, I got a lot of praises.
You know, this is my first time
being critiqued,
so she was saying, like,
even throughout the other runway
she noticed that I'm very well
put together,
- like very pageant girl.
- Pageant girls.
And they love that about me.
I think with this competition
the expectations we have for ourself
where we feel like we are so strong at,
that's where we're the weakest at
in this competition.
And the things that we feel
so insecure in
are the things that really push us
to the forefront.
- But you worked harder to try to prove
to yourself that you can do it.
- Versus, like, me thinking I'm funny
and, like, oh, it was just like...
- And then giving those terrible readings.
- I mean...
- Girl, you are stuck on these reads.
I'm finna read you.
Yeah, I'm about to say, like,
she keeps thinking that her reads
were good,
and I'm sorry, they were not.
- Uh-oh.
- I never said mine were good.
I would say that mine were better
than some.
Please.
She ain't nothing but an instigator.
- Fox News.
- Not Fox News.
There were some real bad ones.
There were some real bad ones
in the group for sure.
It's hurts.
- Mm-hmm.
- It's like...
- Yeah, but use that pain.
- Challenging everything, like, you know,
that I've worked so hard for.
- Mm-hmm, use that pain.
It's wild.
- Just let that go,
and this is your time to shine.
- You're gonna kill it.
- Yeah.
- The girl I know is the funniest,
cleverest girl
when performing, you know?
It's why we all fell in
love with you, girl.
Yeah, you got this. You got this.
Thank you, baby.
Mm.
You got this.
You gonna be good, you know,
but focus now.
- Thank you.
- Yeah, I got you.
- I love you.
- I love you so much.
- Of course I'm close with Sasha.
That's my LA sister.
She's like my guardian angel
through this process.
Because sometimes I get, like,
in my head, I'll think the worst.
Of course I got you.
If you need a hug or anything,
a kick in the ass, I got you.
Thank you.
- And I'm so happy we have each other.
It feels very comforting.
It just kind of fills my heart
and reminds me of who I am.
- Oh!
- Ohh!
Hello, my queens.
- Oh, my God.
It's Janelle Monáe.
- Oh, my God.
- Hi.
Hey, girl.
Bitch, opulence.
Y'all look so incredible.
I'm so happy and honoured to be here.
How are you guys feeling?
- Stressed.
- Stressed.
- I feel you.
- It's nice to be done with the first
sewing challenge, though.
That's a big hurdle.
- Yeah. I've been blown away
by everybody's
artistic expressions,
taking shower curtains and rugs
and creating this.
Like, as an artist, I am so inspired.
I'm so inspired.
Like, you have no idea
what it looks like for me
to watch you guys embrace your uniqueness.
It's just beautiful to watch you blooming
to be a part of
history being made,
'cause this is history...
- Yes.
- For the future.
- Right.
- 'Cause so many people will be inspired.
And they'll be like, "Because of you
I had the guts to get up
and do my thing."
- Werk.
- Ooh.
As an artist who has truly,
like, always stuck to your guns
and been, like, uniquely you,
how do you deal with people that, like,
just don't really understand you.
- Can't nobody tell me about me
more than I can tell myself about me.
- Yes.
- Exactly.
And to allow my voice
to be the loudest voice in the room.
That came from my therapist,
so...
There's so many moments
in my career, you know,
when I first started out where
people didn't get that I wanted to talk
about science fiction and androids and,
like, how the android represented
the other, you know,
represented blackness,
represented queerness,
represented minorities who are overlooked.
And I knew that there was a community
of people who looked like me
who wanted to prove
that we're not monolithic.
Who we are is a spectrum.
Some folks, we're not just
leaving room for nuance,
that I can do this, I can do this,
I can be that
and creating not a blueprint
but a you print.
- Yes.
- We really taking it in.
- We're soaking it up.
- I'm honestly latching on to every word.
- Every single word.
- Truly.
Janelle speaking to us,
she basically is ministering.
She is giving us the word we need.
Just hearing her talk is so captivating.
- I mean,
I'm inspired by this look right now.
- It's fascinating.
- Yes, ma'am.
What was, like, your inspiration?
Um, Janelle Monáe.
- Good answer.
- No, no, no, no.
- I've got to take Janelle back
to the main stage.
- I'm so sorry.
- Aww.
- And this is also a five-minute
warning for you as well.
I could listen to you all day.
- Just keep embracing the things
that make you unique
even if others don't even see it,
please.
- Yes.
- All right?
- Thank you.
- Thank you, queen.
Let me pick this up.
Which one of us are gonna steal that?
You can borrow any time, darling.
- Girls, let's get ready to go back
to the main stage,
- throw all this shit back on.
- Ohh.
Okay, bitch, it's time
to remember who the fuck I am.
Baby, I am bamboozled.
Ugh, what's happening?
Es Titties is really in the bottom
right now, this is wild.
I've got my nipples out.
I'm ready to take off my hoop earrings.
Girl, let's go.
I'm in the bottom again.
So I'm listening to my song,
and I'm just thinking to myself,
"You've done this twice before, girl.
You have to give it your all,"
and that's what I'm gonna do.
- Queens, that's it.
It's time to go.
- Let's head back to the main stage.
- Justin, you know what?
- I've had it.
- Let's do it.
- Wait.
- We're heading back.
Hair flip.
I do have to pee.
Welcome back, ladies.
I've made some decisions.
Amethyst, Salina,
the time has come
for you to lip sync
for your life.
Salina Estitties,
shantay, you stay.
Amethyst,
sashay away.
Okay.
I expected this.
But that doesn't mean
I'm less devastated.
I wanted to come here and prove
that even though I've only been doing this
for two and a half years,
I'm somebody that deserves this.
And I feel like I didn't prove myself.
Mm.
This was a fierce-ass season
with some really talented queens,
and I'm not unsure of my talents.
It's just I felt like I couldn't keep up.
And I feel a little bit disappointed,
a little bit proud of myself.
It's kind of a little bit of everything.
I'm a little under three years old,
but before coming out here
I probably should have learned
to sew a little bit.
So that's really my only regret.
I'm a little sad that I don't get
to showcase
any of my songwriting abilities.
I was really excited to, like,
write a really cool verse on, like,
a RuPaul song.
'Cause kind of like what I do
at home and online.
That's just kind of, like,
what my followers were
I feel like expecting from me.
Also, my lip syncs,
'cause that's what I'm known best for
on the internet and back at home.
I'm really glad I got to showcase
my lip-sync abilities not once,
not twice, but three times.
From Loosey, "Amethyst,
from the legendary house of 'Methyst.
I am so proud of you.
We're so lucky that we got to
experience this together.
You showed the world what you can do,
even if it was just the tip.
This is far from the end.
It's only the beginning.
I love you, Mama."
I really am gonna miss them.
But...
I am a good performer.
And I am a good drag queen.
Never good-bye,
always see you later.
I think the biggest takeaway
is not trying to do
what I think other people
want from me,
to stay true to myself,
and the growth is just gonna
keep on going.
The gem of the season
has left the building.
Toodles.
Can we get tacos?
