RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked! (2010–…): Season 11, Episode 2 - You Don't Know Me - full transcript

Drama follows the Queens backstage and things continue, they receive an uplifting visit from Robyn Carlsson.

[Queen 1] This is not
Rupaul's Best Friend Race.

[Queen 2] I feel very attacked!

[Queen 3]
I was trying to be cordial with you!

[Queen 1] If I woulda lip-sync'ed
for my life today, bitch,

I was ready to do so!

[RuPaul] This is Untucked.

Backstage of the competition to become
America's next drag superstar.

Girl, if you're not watching Untucked,

you're only getting half the story.

[man] Break on the main stage.

All cameras re-fo.

[RuPaul] Thank you, ladies.

I think we've heard enough.

Now, while you untuck backstage,

the judges and I will deliberate.

[Jan] Oh, my gosh!

We're on RuPaul's Drag Race!

It's a dream come true!

[Aiden] I'm fucking ecstatic.

This means so much to me,
to finally be here.

I couldn't ask for anything more.

[Rock] I'm very excited to be here
on RuPaul's Drag Race.

I'm trying to keep up my energy

so that I can show America

why they should fall in love with me.

-[man] Rolling, rolling.
-[man 2] Marker!

[woman] The queens are 100
and ready to move.

[man] Send the queens,
in three, two, one.

Oh, my God,

she needs a good drink.

-Oh, girl!
-Mm-mm-mm.

-Wow, we're here!
-We got cocktails!

[Jaida] I'm gonna sit down.

Y'all, we're in Untucked.

[Sherry] I know. We're here.

-Cheers, ladies.
-Cheers.

[all toasting]

-[Queen 1] Let's untuck.
-[Queen 2] So strong.

-[slurps]
-[Rock] So how are we feeling

about the performance and everything?

I, out of everybody,
was probably the most nervous

and the most, like,
terrified for this challenge,

because I'm the one with
the least experience at, you know,

choreography and dancing
and all of that.

So to get such positivity
back from the judges,

I was, like, just fucking elated.

-[Rock] Yay.
-Bitch, I say, "Ooh, they saw it, honey."

That was something I was so glad
that they noticed about me

was that I'm not just one thing.

Like, you know,
I can be cute and bubbly,

but I can still retain
that little bit of wickedness

or, like, you know what I mean?

There is no specific way to do drag.

You can be whoever the fuck you want to be

and do drag however you want to do it.

-Yeah.
-You don't have to have, like,

a dance background or a club background
or anything.

If you want to be a damn drag queen,
be a damn drag queen and entertain.

-Right.
-[Sherry] Doesn't she look like the host

of the new Slime Time Live?

-[laughter]
-Yass! Slime Time Live.

[Aiden] Slime Time after hours?

Yass, that's you, bitch.

To me it was just like,
the main thing was, like,

literally look at Ru, Michelle,

everybody just givin' us
real live critiques.

That just felt like
the most out-of-body experience.

Feels like I'm getting goosebumps
even just thinking about it right now.

It was just crazy.

And especially for you,
'cause you are probably

the ultimate RuPaul's Drag Race fan.

I am. It's such a dream come true
to be on this fucking show.

Not only do I watch the show,
but I listen to their podcasts

and I really, really tried
to take in everything that they say.

And I feel like I'm supposed to be here
doing what I'm doing,

and I'm glad that I get
to share it with all of y'all.

-How are you feeling?
-Yeah. I was literally just gonna say

-you've been so quiet.
-I know. How are you feeling?

I still think I'm going to be
in the bottom two today.

[Dahlia] Oh, no, sis.

[Jan] You got really good critiques.

I know, it bums me out
that you feel that way

because, like,
you need to realize that you are on

RuPaul's Drag Race season 12.

-[Jaida] Child.
-And down.

-You are here!
-You are here!

Here. Like, you're here.

You're a drag queen and you have a gift.

You know what I mean?

And being a drag queen,

you have to let everyone have your gift.

You need to own your power,

because you're a powerful queen.

-You know what I mean?
-[Jan] That's why you're here.

Can I get this woman a napkin?
Jesus Christ.

Excuse me.

-Let me do it.
-Oh, dear!

-Somebody help me.
-We have it. It's right here.

No. No. No, she ordered thousands
of dollars worth of tulle.

She told us 600 times.

[overlapping chatter]

I think Rock needs to realize that

she's here because she's fierce,

and stop being, like...

"Meh."

-You made sure that you got here.
-[Aiden] And, bitch,

you went out there doing the splits,
doing the tootin'.

Doing the high kicks.

-[Dahlia screams]
-[Jan] Yeah, make it rain!

Literally make it rain!

[chatter, laughter]

[Jan] Oh, there you go, there you go.

[laughs]

Sit. Yeah.

[Rock] I came into this competition

very confident in myself
and what I was representing.

I'm like, you're here for yourself.

You are not going to carry
the weight of San Francisco

because you got here because of you,

and the minute that I felt triggered,

like, the other day,
like, during rehearsal,

it all came crashing down,
and, um...

I feel very vulnerable right now.

[Jaida] Girl, that's ridiculous.

Like, you are not here because,
although you love your city,

you are not here because
of anybody in San Francisco,

you are here because of the work
that you do and what your drag is.

You are here representing yourself.

If your city want to be happy about that,
then San Francisco can be happy.

If they don't, then, girl, that's on them.

[exhales]

Do you feel like you disagree or agree
with the critiques you received?

I felt like, you know, when something
fucks you up right in the beginning,

you're just like, fuck!
And got into my head.

In your performance tonight,

you felt a little nervous to me.

I could feel a little bit of, "Oh, shit".

Mm-hm.

The judges thought
I looked thrown, and I was,

which I need to work on that,
because I've done that before

in performances where something was
throwing me off in the very beginning

and then I'm just over it,

and it reads on my face
and I try not to have that happen,

but it's like, "Stop it, bitch."

Like, snap out of it
and get it together.

[Sherry] Ms. Jaida,

how are you feeling about your critique?

[Jaida] Child, look,

like, I'm glad that
I got really good critiques

because, girl, I, like I told you,
I was really nervous about it.

So when they, like,
"Well, we felt you felt really confident,"

-I'm like, "Girl--"
-[Dahlia] But that's a good thing, girl.

If they saw confidence,
even if you weren't confident,

bitch, that's a huge plus.

And you know, the thing is,
I felt like I--

I mean, I was confident,
but at the same time it's like,

this-- it's so much riding on this.

I love you so much.

I love you so much too.

And if you do leave tonight,
leave your wigs for me, sis.

Oh, you want my wigs!

-[laughter, chatter]
-No, bitch, nah!

Regardless of anything, girl,

everybody, like, shine individually

in whatever style of drag it is
that you do.

Like, everybody was a star in their right.

Yes, ma'am!

[Jaida] That was the craziest part
about it to me.

-I mean, we killed it.
-We did.

[Jaida] We all looked phenomenal.

I'm so happy that we're all
getting along so well.

I think that this number went super,
like-- I do!

-Sickening.
-She's like, "I'm so happy."

[falsetto]
I'm so fucking happy right now.

Of course, the world is not
a Kumbaya world

where we're all sitting here
around a campfire.

[Dahlia]
But, like, if there is, like,

a bottom two,
I'm gonna be in the bottom two,

because everybody was so good,
they had to pick one thing,

so, like, bitch, my nervousness, like...

girl, it's like, "Bye, bitch."

Obviously I hope that doesn't happen
and I hope that you're here

-going forward, but, like--
-[Dahlia] Girl, I hope so too.

[Rock] All of us are, like,

starting to feel the pressure
of the competition.

Everyone's kinda lookin' at each other.

They're trying to figure out
who's the weakest link right now,

because there's only six of us,

which means that we have
a one-in-six chance

of going home now.

[screaming]

I mean, that's what it feels like.

This entire two days

has been so nerve-wracking.

You know, compared to other seasons,
we had such an awesome opportunity

-to just present so much of ourselves.
-[Jan] Yeah, like,

when do they ever do a challenge,
like a dance, lyric--

Two runways.
Two-look runways, bitch.

Four? Four whole looks, right?

-Right?
-Four looks.

-[Jan] Five.
-Five looks,

like, girl, we are showing--

we're literally in the first episode
being like,

"America, hello."

-[Jaida] Literally!
-[Aiden] As a huge fan of the show,

every first episode, I, personally,

always go in, like,
picking out the bitch, like,

"Okay, who's going home this episode?"

And out of all of us here,
just, like--

And that's not just because,
like, I'm here

and I have to be nice to y'all
or whatever.

-No! It's legit.
-We're a strong--

-I am like, "Wow."
-[Dahlia] Seriously, bitch,

season 12 is real.
-[all] Yeah.

What if we are it?
What if this is it?

[laughing]
That would be gaggy.

[Aiden] Somebody wrote on
that mirror, bitch.

We need to talk about this
mysterious message.

[Rock] It says...

[all] "We done already done had oursus."

What if five of us,

fuckin' Aiden
and all her other personalities?

-[all laugh]
-Exactly, yes!

You had better sell a shirt

for every single one
of your personalities.

-Yeah!
-[all laugh]

If you don't, that's a lost opportunity,
and I'll sell them.

-Oh, my God.
-And sign 'em.

[Jan] I'm just curious

what the hell is gonna happen

when all of us come together.

-[Dahlia] Right.
-Yeah.

Do you think when all
the other girls come in,

everybody is just gonna be
still nice to each other?

Or are we gonna be cunty and....

[Jaida] Child!

With RuPaul's Drag Race,
you just never know.

The other girls that could come out,
and maybe... the world's gonna end.

I don't know what's gonna happen!

You can be nice,

but at the end of the day,
we're in a competition,

it's drag, and in drag,
a lot of shit is gon' hurt.

Period.

I'm nervous because

who knows what situation
we're gonna get put into

with these other girls.

I don't want it
to be like that rehearsal.

Maybe my opinions are not valued.

-Oh!
-Lets--

From the beginning, I said
we shoulda did something simple.

Didn't listen,
then now we stuck here.

The simplicity is now,
like, out of the window.

Like, it doesn't really matter
if it's simple

if people did not catch where
they should be, when they should be.

What was important...

in that rehearsal was to see, like,

the stress

and how people react under stress.

Bitch, it's not like--
I feel like everybody

had to have some types of nerve.

Bitch, that was a nerve-wrecking situation

to be the first time ever
being right on the stage,

knowing that they were, like, judging us.

I have to say, like,
when we had our issue,

my biggest issue was I felt like you were
making excuses for yourself.

I know for a fact that my strong suit
is not choreography.

And I don't want to be the one who, like,
get out there

and I don't remember choreography
and fuck the group up,

and then all of a sudden it's like,
"Oh, girl, you girls are at the bottom"

and somebody's going home,

and I'm like, now to drag other people
with me, you know what I mean?

I'm sorry,
what show are we doing?

Jaida, my darling,

this is a competition

and we all knew

that at some point

people have to go home.

Get it together, mother.

Bitch, it really don't matter
at this point.

-Yeah, I mean--
-[Jaida] It's done. We killed it.

-We did.
-We all looked phenomenal.

Did you guys notice
that we're all pride colors?

-Yeah. Red, yellow, orange...
-Oh, shit.

...green, blue, and then you got, like--

-You're the whole rainbow!
-[Sherry] She's the rainbow!

-And that San Francisco smog right here.
-Right here.

She's carrying it with her, hon.

Hi.

-Oh, my God!
-[all exclaiming, screaming]

I am gagged, honey,
Robyn done showed up in this room.

Day one, you expect that
you gon' gonna see a celebrity,

but you don't think the celebrities
are gon' come in the back

and just jam out with you.

I'm so happy to see her back here.

-Hieee!
-How are you?

It's Robyn!

Robyn is one of my
all-time favorite artists.

This is a dream come true!

-Did you have a tulle outfit too?
-Yes!

-Can I have some?
-[Rock] Of course you can.

[all shrieking with delight]

Get y'all back here, girl, get it.

There's a 1,000 yards in this outfit.

[Dahlia] How are you? Oh, my God!

I'm good. Good.
It's so nice to be here with you.

Do you know how many of your songs
I've been dancin' drunk to in the bars,

-like, late at night?
-[Sherry] I do one of your numbers.

-I do "Dancing On My Own".
-Oh!

[Sherry] It was, like, one of my, like,

-first big numbers in New York City.
-Oh, wow.

I'm pretty sure literally
every single one of us has performed

-your song.
-Everybody has performed your song.

Hey, look, I listen--
I put on "Call Your Girlfriend"

and I'm like, I hope my man
is at home doing what the fuck

-he's supposed to be doing.
-[all laugh]

[Jaida] 'Cause there might be somebody
telling him to call me,

and I got no phone, okay?

And I'm like, "Bitch."

I can't believe this show,
how amazing it is to sit in there

and be able to watch all of you.

-[Jaida] Oh, my God.
-Thank you.

And it's very moving.
There's so much at stake.

Like, I can't believe
the pressure you're under. It's crazy.

You should've saw our first rehearsal.

You would've thought very different of us.

-Yeah.
-[Jaida] Yass.

We were like, "These bitches are crazy."

[laughing]

I love this dress, by the way.
I was, like,

over on the side the entire time,
we're, like--

There's wings in here, look.

[Jaida] While you were judging,
it just kept moving, I'm like,

"Yass! I just want that
all over my body."

-Yes.
-Just the movement. Ohh.

[screams]

Ohh. You feel that? Yes.

-If I may.
-[Robyn] Yes?

You are an amazing performer performer.

-Thank you.
-What are some, like,

artist's advice that you wish that
maybe you had gotten

when you were, like,
beginning the...

I know that's a very big question.

There's so much.

It's so complicated, I think,

and you learn so much along the way,
in so many different ways.

But I think...
one thing I felt is

strong, collaborative relationships

have been really important for me.

So, like, people
that I found along the way

that I just really loved talking to,

and they're my sounding boards,

because I would feel really, like,

stressed if I couldn't bounce off
of other people.

Sometimes I imagine
what that person would say.

- Yeah. Oh, damn.
-It's very helpful.

Great for this moment right now.

What's drag like in Sweden?

-Oh!
-[all laugh]

Good question.

Oh, you kind of put me on the spot.

Uh, I think they're all watching you.

-[Jan] Oh, yeah.
-Or will be watching you, I'm sure.

-[Jan] Sitting with Rock!
-I'm sure.

-Have you done drag before?
-Um, I've done drag once,

and I dragged as a very
feminine woman.

[Sherry] Yeah!

[Dahlia] So as yo' self?

No, because I-- I was a tomboy,

so I didn't dress like this
when I was young.

-Really?
-[Robyn] So it was really, like--

Yeah, it was like drag for me.

Would you ever do my makeup?

Yeah, of course.

-Of course, yeah!
-[all laugh]

[Rock] Please.

So how many of you are here?

It's only six right now.

Are there more of you than--
or is it only six?

-We are not sure yet.
-Girl, your guess is as good as ours.

-Yeah?
-We don't know what's going on at all.

We know nothing.
All we know is to be fabulous.

There was a message on one
of the mirrors in the Werk Room,

-so we think there's another group.
-Yep.

Girl, this is not a regular situation.

-[Robyn] Oh, wow.
-[Jan] It is crazy.

-It's a lot.
-[crew guy] Queens, sorry,

-I gotta take Robyn with me.
-[Jaida] All right.

-Thank you, Robyn, for being here.
-Oh, my God.

-Thank you.
-Bye, Robin, thank you.

Bye, nice to meet you.

[Jaida] If there anything wrong
with the dress, I'll take it.

-Bye.
-[Robyn] Bye.

-Call me.
-Child.

-All right, girl.
-[laughter]

[Sherry] Who didn't finish their drink?

[Jaida] Me.

You want it? Its cute.
All the vodka's at the bottom.

[Sherry] I know what I want, though?
A hot dog.

[Aiden] I'm just going
to take a nap on the sofa.

Yass. That's how I'm feeling.

[inaudible]

[Dahlia] Bitch.

I just want to talk to you
about how you're feeling.

I'm-- I'm feeling a little--

I'm feeling a little defeated.

You're doing good, girl.
You're killing it.

-So are you, girl.
-But...

It sucks that
they saw you nervous

because you not-nervous

is something that everyone should see.

Well, we both here.

We both gon' kill it.

[Rock] We're both gon' kill it.
If we kill it hard enough,

maybe they'll do a double-shantay
for the first one.

-Ah! Girl, let's hope.
-Let's hope.

That's never happened, b-- b-- b...

Never happened,
but there's always a first time.

Let's hope, bitch.

Actually, no, let's not hope, bitch,
let's make sure--

-Let's make it happen.
-It's gonna happen.

But let's listen to this lip-sync, bitch,
cause...

-[kissing]
-Love you, baby.

[Rock] Love you forever.

[crew guy] All right, queens!

Five minutes till the runway.

[all] Thank you. Five.

[Dahlia] My biggest fear right now is

being in the bottom two
and going home first.

I'm just trying to get my head focused

and in the game.

So I prepped myself
for possibly lip-syncing.

[inaudible]

[Rock] If I have to lip-sync,

I will definitely give it my all.

These girls all just sat here and told me

to not doubt myself

and to go all out,
and to be myself,

and I can't let down them,

but most of all,

I can't let down myself.

All right, queens,
time to go to the main stage!

-Oh, shit!
-[Sherry] Here we go.

-Can we do a group hug?
-Yeah, let's go do a group--

Oh-- Okay, bye.

They're like, "Screw you."

I'll just love myself.

[Sherry] Come on, ladies.

To the main stage.

[RuPaul] Welcome back, ladies.

I've made some decisions.

Nobody is going home this week.

But there will be one winner.

Jaida Essence Hall.

Sherry Pie.

The time has come...

for you to lip-sync...

for your life!

Jaida Essence Hall.

You're a winner, baby.
