RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked! (2010–…): Season 11, Episode 1 - I'm That Bitch - full transcript

The first group of queens goes to Untucked for the first time and receive a visit from Nicki Minaj.

[Lashauwn] This is not
RuPaul's Best Friend Race.

[Laganja] I feel very attacked!

[Vanjie] I was trying
to be closer with you.

[Silky] If I would have
lip-synced for my life

today, bitch,
I was ready to do so!

[RuPaul]
This is Untucked,

backstage of the competition

to become America's
next drag superstar.

Girl, if you're
not watching Untucked,

you're only getting
half the story.

[man, over P.A.]
Break on the main stage.

[woman] Jacqueline to Untucked,
resetting the queens.

[man] All cameras re-fo.

[RuPaul] Thank you, ladies,
I think we've heard enough.

Now, while you untuck backstage,

the judges and I
will deliberate.

You may leave the stage.

[Gigi] There's a high chance
that any of us

could be in the bottom.

I haven't forgotten that
there's only seven of us,

and that is
really terrifying, honestly.

[Brita] I'm nervous.
I could be in the bottom

because I didn't show
my true self in my lyrics.

I'm just so in my head.

[Heidi] If it was just based
off the main challenge,

I might be in the top,

but if it's taking everything
into consideration,

bitch, I might be goin' home.

And that has me shooketh.

[man] Marker.

[man 2] Queens walking.

[woman] Jacqueline,
please escort the queens in.

[man 3] Send the queens
in three, two, one.

-Ooh, yes, go, queen, go, honey.
-[sighs] I'm good.

-Oh, my goodness.
-Ooh.

-Ah! This is so dark.
-Yes.

-[contestant 1] Oh...
-[contestant 2] Ooh, well, OK...

-[Jackie] Well, we made it.
-[Gigi] We are here.

Can you give me the red?

[Widow] I hope this
doesn't make me a lightweight,

because I ain't had booze
in a while.

[indistinct chatter]

[both sigh]

Bitch, I feel great.

You should because you got
the highest praise

and just no negativity
whatsoever so...

I don't know. Jackie--

[Heidi] And Jackie, too.
Y'all probably in the tops.

-They loved y'all.
-Except for my beard.

I love that you're
a proud Persian queen.

One thing I'm going to tell you
because you are Persian descent

and your hair is dark,

we're already seeing
the bleed-through on the beard.

This is gonna be
the bane of your existence.

I'm a twice-a-day shaver, girl.

Really?

I mean, you can watch it.

Like, if we look
at a time lapse video,

it's going to keep growing back.

-Wow.
-[laughing]

But I will fix that and I'm not
letting Michelle down.

-Is anyone nervous?
-I am.

I'm nervous.

Yeah, I don't know why,
but I do feel nervous.

I think you got
really good critiques, Gigi.

They were obsessed
with everything you wore.

[RuPaul] Gigi Goode.

Your fashion show
choices were fantastic.

What I loved the most
about your rap

is that you had
a double entendre in it,

"I'm just here to win
and leave a bitch on read."

Literally, I would steal
that line.

[laughs]

[Brita] There is nothing
between all of us

that was like absolutely like,

"You are definitely
lip-syncing today."

Well, they did say
that they could feel

that I was
uncomfortable performing,

which is a pretty shitty thing.

But how did you feel
about Miss Nicki saying

that you had the most beautiful
face she had ever seen?

[Crystal]
Nicki was obsessed with you.

It was a bittersweet feeling.

As much as
I appreciate that people

acknowledge
my makeup skills,

I just don't want
to be seen as just like,

"Oh, you're
so pretty and polished,

so you're a successful
drag queen."

You are gorgeous.
You truly are.

Because, to me, this is how
I feel comfortable doing drag.

You can go further than
my definition of drag,

and I know this is not
RuPaul's Best Friend Race,

but I don't consider myself
being on top of you

just because I know how
to color correct my mustache.

So thank you for the compliment.

It was an honor. I respect her
so much. I love her.

Now I need to make sure that
I'm able to be as confident

in my performances
that I am with my looks,

because I am
a strong performer,

and I feel like I'm getting
in my head too much,

just because
of the "immigrant" thing.

I'm trying to live up
to your level,

just because you guys
are in your environments.

What do you mean,
live up to our level, bitch?

We're all out of our element.

Being French
and recently relocated

is hard because every time
there's an awkward moment

with someone
in your conversation,

because of your accent
or the expression you used

that nobody understands
the fuck you're saying.

All of that, you kind of
like beat yourself up

because
you know how eloquent

or how funny or quick
you are in your country,

and here, you're kind
of like more vanilla,

so it's hard
to build confidence.

You don't have to translate
everything you say.

-Yeah.
-Yeah.

I'm struggling. I'm struggling
in translating my struggle.

So it's not exactly the same.

I feel like our critiques were
the opposite of each other.

Like, they loved, loved,
loved your runways,

and they thought
you were nervous

during your performance.

For me, I was the opposite.

My headpiece popped off,
and I am really worried.

Nobody wants to be
the first queen to go home.

But they loved
my personality. Um...

I think that's
the most important thing.

Hello, we can buy you
better wigs, girl.

Yeah, girl.

[Jackie] We can't buy you
a new personality.

Yeah, I mean, I'm
from the small country, girl.

We sit on the front porch

and drink sweet tea
and rock in our rocking chairs,

and very laid back, very...

Like back at home,

I don't live where my home bar

or whatever is.

So I'm not technically
a "hometown girl."

So, I actually--
So, it was kind of like,

I don't fit in back at home.

[Jackie] Mm-hmm.

[Heidi] And no one
really took me serious.

I just feel isolated
a lot of the times,

and it's just... it's hard

to let myself out to others.

Like, as a regular person,
I wear a mask

to hide the person
who I truly am inside.

It's just that I've been hurt
so much over the years.

Like, people always left me.

Like, I put walls up,

so when they do leave,
it doesn't hurt.

Aww. Yo, I wanna
give you a hug.

[Heidi] And I've done that
to a lot of people.

And being here, I've let
my walls down, and I'm--

I love you.

I'm not used
to getting so close

to other people.

And really, I'm scared.

[sniffs]

-Sorry. Sorry.
-[woman] That's fine.

[sniffs]

[groans]

[sniffs]

[Heidi] But I think I'm slowly
chipping away at that wall,

and behind it
is such a beautiful person.

[Jackie]
I can't speak for the other hos

who may be comin' in,

but you have
six sisters right here.

[all agreeing]

-No matter what happens here.
-I'm so thankful

for this group of queens.

Seriously.

Honestly, yesterday, after
the rehearsal that we had,

I was like, "Oh, my God,
I'm not doing enough."

Like, I need to like amp it up.

[Gigi] Yeah, how do you feel?

They said that I didn't show
personality in my lyrics,

I mean, which I agree, I didn't.

[Heidi] Didn't one of the judges
say you were cocky, or...

Was it Nicki?

Nicki said that, well, a good
rap song, you got to be cocky.

I liked Nicki until she said
she hated my face.

I hate, hate, hate
your hair and makeup today.

You still like her.

Oh--

-Girl!
-[laughter]

[Gigi] I think the critiques
from Nicki Manaj to Heidi

about her makeup
was kind of a sore spot

in Heidi's mind
and in her heart.

And I'm a little bit worried

that it might affect
her performance moving forward.

I don't think that she mean it
like in a bad way.

-[Gigi] Yeah.
-[Jackie] Yeah.

So, earlier, I asked you
in the workroom,

I said, "Are you
still mad at us?"

Then on the runway, today,

you backed up.

You said there were
too many cooks...

Who was in charge
of the choreography?

At first, everybody wanted

me and Heidi.

And after a while,

it just became
too many chefs in the kitchen.

You asked me
if I was still mad at you,

and I said, "No, I'm not,"

but there were
too many cooks at first.

We were all talking
over each other,

and then time
was just running out.

That's 'cause nobody
was taking charge.

None of you two were also taking
the lead. We kind of had to go--

Wait, I was taking the lead
at the beginning.

When you all said
that we should choreograph,

that's what we were
trying to work out.

And then y'all
would keep interrupting.

As someone who does dance

and have competitions
that have dancers,

it's like, my dancers, we go in,

they come in for rehearsal,
we get the shit done.

That's pretty much it.

It's like, no one ever
really talks over me.

Like, if you have an idea
that may work for you or for us,

let me know,

I will put it together
and see if it works.

I mean, I think that's
what we're doing.

-[Jackie] Yeah.
-[Nicky] Yeah.

But everybody
was doing it at once.

I don't think that
we were like disrespecting you.

I was trying to push you
to take the lead.

You also were not really
in sync with her.

In her ideas,
you wanted to give yours.

You all asked me to take charge

of this choreo,

and then you step in front of me

and try to take over,

instead of just givin' me
my goddamn space

and let me do it.

We've all watched
the show enough.

The one person that's always
on the first chopping block

is the one who takes
the most charge.

This was a group challenge,
so I think that all of us

would've spoken up for you.

But I don't know any of y'all.
I don't know these things.

[Jackie] You can't trust us?

I don't trust the bitch
that runs my card at the bank.

-Trust me.
-[laughter]

I don't-- I know Crystal.

That's why me and Crystal
don't have a problem.

[laughs]

[Gigi] I'm sorry if it felt like
we were stepping on your toes.

But we did pull it together,
and we did it.

And it looked good.

Widow answered
the question on stage...

Who's your biggest competition?

Oh...

I'm gonna have to say...

Nicky. [laughs]

So, everybody else,
who's your biggest competition?

I'm gonna say that Jackie is
the biggest competition for me

because you seem so smart

-and, like, well-spoken.
-What does that say about us?

[laughter]

[Brita] What about you?

I think that my biggest
competition would be Gigi...

because I think we're
on the same lane.

You're a makeup artist,
I'm a makeup artist.

You're a look queen,
I'm a look queen.

You perform, I perform--

Look, I felt like I can
recognize myself a lot into you.

Also, like, good job
on these helmets, sis.

You be pullin' those out
left and right.

-Tryin' to be safe, sister.
-[Brita] That's right, girl.

I want to see the next
helmet you pull out, girl,

-'cause I'm here for it.
-Well, keep counting.

I was like, you should have
a suitcase of helmets.

Yeah, actually,
I only brought helmets.

[Widow] Did you really?

-No, I'm just kidding.
-[laughter]

Bitch, I wouldn't
have been mad at you,

that could've been a thing.

Brita?

Um, definitely Widow,
because you're a big girl,

and you're such
a great performer,

the things that
you can do with your body.

Now, Jackie, you were
one of the smartest queens

I've ever met.

You're so smart,
you're so quick, and--

It's the brown hair.
It's not that smart.

-I-- No, it's the beard. Um...
-[laughter]

And you, you're next level
with your dancing,

and you are funny.

Girl, the things that you say...

When you made
that chicken noise.

Can you just do it again?

[clucking]

[Widow] Girl!

This is my native
language, actually.

[laughter]

Gigi, biggest competition?

Jackie.

You are such
an impressive persona

and character, performer,

and just visual artist,
that, I mean,

I feel like I have
to watch out for you, for sure.

Ah, I feel like I'm split
between you two,

like both of you,
because I wish I was

as fashion as you,

and I wish I was as creative
visually as you.

You're insane.

When you walked in
with that face...

-[Jackie] Wow.
-Thank you.

Yeah, I respect a lot,
your artistry.

-[Crystal] Thank you.
-For sure.

You're also so quiet
right here,

right now,
and you have been.

She's always,
you're always quiet.

You're always like this?

I'm usually a quiet person,

and, I don't know,

I've...
I've never been confident

until I found drag.

I was like ashamed
of how feminine I was,

-for a long time.
-Same.

[Nicky] Yeah, drag
was also my way to embrace

all the reasons that
I've been bullied for so long,

that you're too feminine.

And I put myself in drag,
and it was just the best way

for me to just turn
the page and move on.

And I've been the happiest.

[Jackie] What about you,
Miss Thing?

It's between Widow and Jackie.

Like, I love a big girl
that can move,

and she ain't afraid to move.
I live for that.

Like, your personality
shines through,

and you're just
so congenial and sweet.

Widow for
Miss Congeniality.

I want y'all to remember this.

First day, this is
what they said,

that I'm nice now.

[Brita] That means
you ain't gonna win.

[Widow]
No, no. No, no, no. No, no.

I said, "Remember this.
Day one, you said this."

-[Heidi] And then...
-Wait till day last,

-and you think different.
-[Heidi] She's gonna be cuttin'

all your bra straps.

She's gonna be
sawing off your shoes.

[Widow] Oh, no,
I ain't got to do that.

I'm just gonna
let you fall for yourself.

She gonna push you
off the main stage.

Oh, no, I'm gonna
just stand right there

and watch you do it yourself.

Go ahead, topple over.

Ha-ha!

[all exclaiming]

[Jackie] Oh, my God.

[Nicky] Oh, my God,

Nicki Manaj, like what?

My namesake is in the room,

with me, in front of me.

Gooped.

You are flawless.

-Thank you. Aww.
-[Brita] You are so beautiful.

[Nicki] Thank you.

Well, I just wanted to say--

Do you guys have
any questions, first of all?

What is it that you hate
so much about my face?

[Jackie] Oh.

[laughs] Oh, my God.

Your features
and your face are beautiful.

Let me make that clear.

I'm not a makeup artist, y'all,

I just think that your makeup
looked kinda half done.

Here's the thing,
maybe getting a color

that matches your skin tone
a little better,

and then maybe
like the blends,

just something
that is more rich

can help you look
more stage ready.

Let's talk about your writing,

'cause you are like Queen MC,

like you can really write
some clever rhymes.

-Thank you.
-[Gigi] Oh, for sure.

[Jackie] And like,
what's your process?

Um, you know, the same way
you guys like are gonna

perfect your look over time

by just doing it over and over
and staying in that mirror,

I do that
with writing things over.

I just feel like the line
could always be better.

Is there a word
that isn't being...

overused right now
that I could've said, you know?

And you guys
can do the same thing

with your clothes,
with your hair,

with your makeup.

Like, it's not always good
to blend in, obviously, right?

-Yeah.
-[Nicki] There's ways

to stand out and still be fly.

There's ways to be funny
and not be the joke.

I give you guys props
for believing in yourself

enough to get here.

Like, y'all, this is
scary-ass shit,

because you're
putting yourself on blast

for everyone to see,

for everyone
to see you fail.

We're not like regular people.

When a regular person
fails in life,

they have five people, tops,
that know about it.

But when it's on TV,

and you know
it's about to be critiqued

by the whole Internet
and the whole world...

-[Nicky] Mm-hmm.
-...it's very, very normal

-to be afraid.
-Yeah.

So, if you're in it just to win
and just to be that bitch,

you're in the wrong thing.

You gotta be in it
'cause this is your passion.

-[Jackie] Yeah.
-Thank you, thank you.

-[Nicky] Yes. See?
-[Gigi] Thank you so much.

-I'm gonna go.
-We love you so much.

-Thank you, Nicki, for coming.
-Thank you all so much.

-Thank you.
-Thank you. We adore you.

[Nicki] Thank you, guys.
Take care.

And keep on being
amazing, y'all,

'cause you're giving
so many people

so much confidence,
you don't even know.

-[all] Thank you.
-Bye, we love you.

[Nicki] Bye.
I love you back, y'all.

[Jackie] Well, watch that
train walk. Watch it walk.

[Widow] Hate to see
you leave and love

to see you walk away, girl.

-[Nicky] Yeah!
-[Brita] Come on, sis!

-[Gigi] Yeah!
-[Jackie] There it is!

[Widow] Yes, Mama.

[Jackie] I was this close
to Nicki Manaj!

-[Brita] Nicki Manaj.
-[Jackie] Yep.

That is so crazy.

Wait, someone help
my big ass up.

-[grunts]
-[laughter]

[Brita] Also, can someone
unzip me?

I'm kind of
freaking out a little bit.

-I also have to pee.
-We'll get you your iPod.

You'll be OK.

All right, queens, five minutes
left until main stage.

[deep sigh]

[Heidi] I know I messed up
in the mini-challenge,

and I feel like I might be
in the bottom.

And if I have to lip-sync,
I have to bring it,

because I am
not going home.

[Nicky]
After the judges' critiques,

I really don't know
how well I've done.

They praised me
for the aesthetic,

but they sense the insecurity.

All right, queens, time to go.

-[Heidi] Ooh. Oh.
-Follow me.

-OK.
-Thank you.

[man] Here we go,
queens, here we go.

Just keep following me.

[RuPaul] Welcome back, ladies.

I've made some decisions.

No one's going home.

But there will be one winner.

Gigi Goode
and Widow Von'Du,

lip-sync...

for your life!

Widow Von'Du,
you're a winner, baby.

[Jackie] Widow, you know
what you're gonna write?

[Widow] I think I know
what I want to say.

[laughter]

-[Heidi] Hands in.
-[Jackie] Top seven for life!

[all cheer]
