RuPaul's Drag Race (2009–…): Season 11, Episode 12 - Queens Everywhere - full transcript

The queens must write and record a verse in a performance of RuPaul's hit single "Queens Everywhere," and guest on RuPaul's podcast with Michelle Visage. Choreographer Todrick Hall, style superstar Carson Kressley and the hilariou...

[RuPaul]
Previously on RuPaul's Drag Race...

You need to make over
one of the returning queens.

[cheers and applause]

[Soju] Oh, no.

Why do I feel like I'm about
to put somebody in drag

for the first motherfucking time
in their life?

[RuPaul] Silky Nutmeg Ganache
and her sister Soju.

It was more of a theme instead of sisters.

[RuPaul]
Nina West and Shuga Cain.

[Michelle] This is a drag family
resemblance challenge,

and there was no resemblance.

[RuPaul] Brooke Lynn Hytes
and Plastique.

You took my breath away
when you guys walked out.

Brooke Lynn Hytes, you are the winner
of this week's challenge.

[applause]

I've made my decision.

Meh.

Silky Nutmeg Ganache,
shantay, you stay.

Nina West, sashay away.

[exhales]

[Brooke Lynn]
I hate that Nina's gone.

She's always been there for me.

It just sucks seeing her go.

[Silky]
"I love each of you so much.

Be kind. Go West.

Love, Nina."

[Brooke Lynn]
That was a hard one.

Yeah, it gut-punched me, honestly.

[Brooke Lynn]
And she's so loved by everybody.

Go West.

I'm kind of shook
that I was in the bottom two.

It was all a set-up.

Miss Shady Brooke Lynn

gave herself the easiest task
of the week,

and she put me with Soju.

She was trying
to get me to go home,

but not today, shady, not today.

The two girls that everybody said

they felt like should go home
is still here.

How do y'all feel?

I'm really proud
of what I've put out there.

It's what I represent
in context to this top five.

I didn't expect Nina
to be in the bottom

and to have to lip sync for her.

Then when we were done
and they called my name,

and it was just like--

Now, girl, I ain't gonna lie.

When Mama Ru had said, "Meh."

[Brooke Lynn]
I thought y'all both were gone.

I was really underwhelmed
with Silky's lip sync

after all the smack she talked.

But I'm an entertainer,
like, day in and day out.

That's not my genre of music.

Silk, you done asked Mama Ru

to put you in this bottom
all season long.

Silky spilled the milk on this lip sync.

She just snatched off her wig
and just threw it.

She just broke
the people's lights at the back.

Heel like this.

A lot of girls' bark
is bigger than their bite.

I think for me,
I am truly blessed to be here.

I was reminded,
through the Lord up above,

that the greatest gift of God
is forgiveness,

and I realized that
I never forgave Yvie.

And like...
like you said something to me,

and, like, I know I'm a hard bitch

and sometimes I get
really, really stubborn.

And that's something
I have to work on myself.

And I would like
to get to know Yvie

after this competition,
but after this competition.

[laughs]
After this competition, bitch.

[all laugh]

I love you, Yvie.

I'm glad we all made up.
We all cool and cordial.

[Brooke Lynn]
Let's just take a moment.

Top fucking five.

[all exclaiming]

There are a lot of amazing
performers in this top five.

We're all very different.

We all want this really badly.

We are all bringing our A-game.

We all know what
is at stake here at this point.

Oh, my God!

Wait, is that for real?
Was that actually like that?

Bitch, yes.

-Oh!
-The whole time!

for these tickets up there.

They got the Groupon tickets,
but they still here.

Right.

Here we go, one more time.

Five, six, seven, where your fans at?

Give some love to the people
in the cheap seats.

-[grunts]
-Yeah.

Whoo.

[Todrick] That was better.

As long as you keep your face committed,
it just makes a huge difference.

I think you got it.
We gotta move on, but that was awesome.

Good job, baby.

-Do solemnly swear...
-Do solemnly swear...

To put some damn stank on it.

To put some damn stank on it.

[Todrick] We gotta get it popping.
We gotta get these juices flowing.

Right now, she is a very
prim and proper ballerina,

and we need her to go
to the Cardi B School for Girls.

Next victim on the stage.
Five, six, seven.

Can we stop playback?

Um, just make sure when
you're doing this, boomp, boomp,

that it doesn't get spastic,

because it starts to look
a little octopussy.

Like you have a bunch of tentacles going.
You just have two arms.

Boomp, bomp, bomp. Cool?

I know I look like one of those
inflatable car salesmen,

so, I guess that's kind of bad.

[laughs]

Big Silky.

And I'm ready.

[both laugh]

I love it.

All right, you ready to do it?

-Come on, let's do this shit. Come on.

Queen and left. Pop.

The big bitch is back!

Ooh, my weave.

[Todrick] Now that I know

like really precise and clean.

Just think of a Rockette when you
do that part so it will be clean.

Yes. Yes, like that.

-OK, thank you.
-Great job, Silky.

Next person.

A'Keria.

You got this, sis.

[Todrick]
Are you ready?

I'm gonna get there.

[Todrick]
OK. Let's do it.

And five, six, seven and crown. Boom.

And five, six, seven and eight.

Queen, three, four and five.

Six, seven and queen.

OK. Can we stop playback?

This is a couple of things
that you just gotta think about,

because you're just, like, hesitating.

[A'Keria] I just have a hard time
picking up choreography.

I know, but I'm just letting you know,

if you know in your head
that it takes you more time,

you need to go more full-out than all
these other four girls every single time.

Because if you kinda, like,
wait until you get it,

you're not gonna be able to do it,
and that's just point-blank period.

Even if it's wrong,
just try to hit something.

OK.

Listen, you see a girl trying.

Don't keep calling me out
on these people's camera.

I want confidence.

I want you to commit,
even if every step is wrong.

I don't want you to apologize.
I don't want any excuses.

Let's do it again, Miss Ass Almighty.

Six, seven, eight.

[Todrick]
A'Keria, she's in her head.

It's like she's never stepped into
a dance rehearsal before in her life.

[sobs]

I think that you're actually a star,
but you don't give me the energy

that you actually believe
that you're a star,

and I just want to see that.

Now, I know y'all didn't think

that we were just gonna let you
dance on this stage

and that'd be all
you were going to be doing.

Oh.

This is only the beginning.

Walk this way.

No, really, walk this way.

Oh.

Yes, honey.

[cheering]

Y'all gonna get a music video

Ladies, welcome to the set
of your final challenge.

This is going to be our club.

There's a huge dance scene at the bar
where you'll be performing.

Choreography in and out,
in one camera take.

It's one take.
That is all you get.

And if you don't hit every single mark,
it could be catastrophic.

OK.

This final performance
will dictate who goes on to the finale.

I am scared.

Porta Potty shitless scared.

You got your night cut out for you.

[Yvie] Oh, yeah.

-Yoo-hoo!
-Yeah!

Last day.

[cheering]

-Oh, we got drinks.
-We got cocktails.

Today is the last day in the workroom.

It's it. It's the final day of school.

And today's the day we find out
who's moving on to the finale.

And there's fucking drinks
from Micky's here.

-Micky's West Hollywood.
-Thank you, Mickey's!

-Cheers.
-Cheers.

Maybe they can book us all together.

Oh, my God, it tastes like West Hollywood.

Mm-hmm.

All right, all right, clink, clink,

I love you, I love you, I love you,
call me, write in my yearbook, let's go.

My inner peace roller-coastered
within this competition.

Like, hell, this journey
was not easy for me.

I am truly blessed at this point.

I just want to say I know I'm very loud,
I'm very overbearing at times.

No, you?

[Silky] Yeah, but I just
want to say thank you all.

Like, we've had, like, our ups and downs,

but thank you overall
for like accepting who I am.

As a plus girl,
like, I literally sometimes

have fights with myself about things.

And, like, to make it this far
is so beautiful for me.

And thank y'all for bringing me
out of my shell.

No, we didn't bring out no shell.
Her shade brought her out of the shell.

Thank you for bringing out my inner shade.

-Yeah.
-Thank you for reading us.

I wanna say thank y'all
so much for accepting me

despite the fact that, like,
I do get gritty and nitty,

and, like, cause a lot of shitty.

It really does mean a lot to me

that you guys still found
some acceptance for me.

At the end of the day,
these girls are my sisters.

But also, at the end of the day,
if I don't make it to the top four,

I'm burning this whole place down.
[laughs]

Y'all know my hair's been crazy
this entire season.

And I have put on a special do
for y'all, just for today.

-Wha?
-Oh, yes!

[Vanjie] Thank you.
We're gonna end on a high note.

[A'Keria]
Ooh. Girl, that is some nappy hair.

[laughs]

[Brooke Lynn]
What's been the most memorable moment

of the season for you guys?
Like, top moment you'll always remember?

[A'Keria] My breakthrough moment

was doing the Lady Pudding Pop
challenge with the cops.

[Silky] Me being Oprah.

[Yvie]
For me, it was the organic challenge.

Everybody over here talking about
who's winning what,

and they think they all rabbits.

But don't sleep on the turtle,

'cause sometimes the turtle
will outdo the rabbit.

While y'all over there jackrabbiting
and punching through the competition

thinking you slaying,
that don't mean you can't fall.

Don't sleep on the turtle.

Sometimes the turtle can win the race.

-[A'Keria] Branjie.
-[laughs]

Is that gonna continue after?

[Brooke Lynn] Yeah, we're gonna--

We were just talking about it today.

[Brooke Lynn]
We were just talking about it today.

-[Silky] Oh, really?
-Yeah.

We're gonna see where it goes,
and see what happens.

You're going to be, like, so far apart
and just constantly busy and--

Whatever you...
if you want it to work, it'll work.

If you don't want...
if you don't put effort into it,

it's not gonna work.

My hope for my relationship
with Vanjie after this

is just to get to know each other
like two normal people.

It could be nice.
We'll see what happens.

[A'Keria] Yeah, because,
I mean, I think y'all should.

I really do enjoy y'all together,
other than, you know, the smacking.

Yeah.

I knew it was gonna go left.

I can definitely do without all of that.

Other than that, you know,
for the most part...

I'm so happy y'all approve.

where the sapphire turns into amethyst.

I was the most worried about you

I love your look.
I think it's beautiful.

It reminded me of Sahara Davenport.

[Carson]
The details are gorgeous,

but I don't know if this is
the best version of your drag.

You know, from that first episode,

you came out and you were so edgy
and so editorial.

I was kind of looking for that.

Your performance, on the other hand,
you hit your kicks, you hit your splits.

But, Brooke, something was missing.

There's just a little edge,
a passion missing.

Just fuck it up a little bit.

The lyrics in the performance,
I was kind of waiting for the punchline.

I wanted the setup
and then I wanted some sass,

and I wasn't getting that.

I wish that you could somehow find a way

to bring the fun person
that I rehearsed with into the routine.

I had so much fun working with you.
You were amazing.

And... I'm sorry.

Up next,
Dr. Reverend Silky Nutmeg Ganache.

Silky, you are cinched.

and it took like three people
to zip it up today.

Well, I always felt that internal organs
are really overrated.

I loved working with you.

You didn't make a single excuse.
You didn't ask for any concession.

It was really fun to record
in the studio with you.

You came in, brought all your energy.

And I think you did a great job.

You threw your whole body into this.

Technically perfect? No.

But filled with passion and fun? Yes.

But you flopped back,
and we saw a nude one with a black under.

I just want you to think about

Although I have minor flaws,
hopefully, y'all can see that

I just try to be the example
that anything that you want in life,

with hard work, that you can get it.

-Thank you, Silky.

Up next, Miss Vanjie.

I appreciate this look on the runway.

It's kind of a foil

You are that tough New York City

-Mm-hmm.
-This is the other side.

This is a very 1940s Vivien Leigh
kind of glamour.

I was excited to see you
in this music video

because I thought, "She's hilarious."

I know you got moves.

But it bummed me out
to see you not kill it.

I'm sitting here trying
to figure out what's going on,

because in rehearsal,
you were the best dancer.

You had that edge,
that grit, that urban flair.

But something happened
whenever it got on stage.

It looked like you were disconnected.

The biggest problem
was you were barely lip syncing.

You had your moves,
but your words weren't there.

[RuPaul] Up next, Yvie Oddly.

I don't think you've ever
looked more beautiful.

Bitch, you are blended,
and the contouring.

Michelle, do you see this?

With three eyes, yes.

Drag is, like, usually one of two things.

It's either super glamorous and pageanty,

or it may be a little campy
and fun with a sense of humor.

I love when a queen combines the two.

That's why it's one of my
favorite looks on the runway tonight.

Your performance was remarkable.

[Todrick] I loved your creativity
and your willingness to try everything

and to go so full out.

There are going to be voices
in his head every day

that he has to fight against,
telling him that he's not worth anything

and that he's not right.

And I would just tell him that he is.

He's perfect and wonderful

And he has so much talent and ability

that he just needs to believe
in himself and love himself.

And I would also tell him
to stop dying his hair so much...

Oh, my God, look at that.

-Thank you, Brooke Lynn.
-Thank you, Ru.

Silky, what advice do you have
for six-year-old Reggie?

[laughing]

You knew who you were in that photo.

Why did you hide for so many years?

There was so many times you danced,
kicked, and twirled as a kid,

but you hid that you were gay.

And part of that was
because I was a minister of music,

and I just sheltered myself
for protection from judgment from people,

that at this point in my life
don't even matter.

Let the world see your truth

at a very young age and not
many, many, many years later.

Child, live the life
that you want to live.

And it starts right then and there.

One last question.

Is that a baseball in your hand
or a boiled egg?

[laughs]
That do look like an Easter Sunday,

so, I'd say boiled egg, honey.

[all laugh]

Miss Vanjie, what advice
do you have for six-year-old Jose?

Ooh.

Child, you know,
I couldn't hide shit back then.

I was so flamboyant,
even though I was trying to look straight.

I would probably tell him
I know at this point

you're probably feeling
a little misunderstood,

and you're just like
the little princess in the house.

Believe it or not, even though I'm,
you know, kind of rough around the edges,

next to my brothers, I look real feminine.

But don't worry, 'cause it gets better.

You could always turn things around.

Always, like, rely on my mother,

because, you know,
she's gonna be your best friend.

Bitch, take an acting class.

Make sure you can channel
all that craziness into something.

Get prepared,
because you're about to be on...

you're about to do it big, little Jose.

-Thank you, Vanjie.
-Thank you.

Yvie, what advice do you have
for four-year-old little Jovan?

Um, first of all, smile for the camera.

[laughs]

But I'd tell him that

you don't need
to take it as a personal attack

any time somebody calls you weird.

Uh, 'cause that's ultimately
what's going to be your greatest strength.

I'd tell you not to build walls
at a young age,

'cause it just makes them
harder to break down later.

Keep being yourself. Keep trying hard.

And also, green is not your color.

[laughs]

What was this?
Was this Halloween?

I dressed up all the time, so,
it could have been any day of the year.

[laughs]

-Thank you, Yvie.

-But I feel like with A'Keria,

I swiped right on her and I got more
than what I bargained for.

And you're on Tinder?

-[laughs]
-[Todrick] Absolutely.

-Wowza.
-Hold on. Is this you?

It shows that you're inside me.

[all laugh]

Negative eight inches away.

[all laugh]

Interesting.

She was fighting for this spot.

She knew it was crunch time,
and she showed up.

But she didn't make
a great first impression.

She came to the party very late.

[RuPaul] Brooke Lynn Hytes.

In the performance, she knew every move
that she was supposed to do,

and did it with zero passion.

She has consistently been
a really wonderful performer.

This challenge called for her
to step it up.

Now, the rap, it could have been
really funny, but it didn't land.

Tonight, what we needed
was her to scream from the rooftops

she deserved to be in the top four,

and what she did was politely ask
to be in the top four.

[RuPaul] Silky Nutmeg Ganache.

I love me some Silky Nutmeg Ganache.

[Michelle] There's nothing Silky can do
that I won't want a ticket to watch.

Even busting out of a bathroom
and knocking people out.

It was a little sloppy,
but it was funny.

There's a magic to Silky
that you can't deny.

I understand it's not perfect,
but where there have been valleys,

there have been big peaks for Silky.

If I need to think about
who I want to see in the finale,

I'd like to see what Silky can do.

[RuPaul] Miss Vanjie.

Her performance was really
disjointed, you guys.

Her rap was fantastic.

The performance of it when we said,
"Action," did not connect.

She missed the ball.
She didn't really quite deliver.

But does that mean
she can't always deliver?

Does that mean she gets
another chance to go to the next round?

I would love to see that happen for her.

She's gotten chance
after chance after chance.

Well, bitch, I want
one more chance, OK?

I don't know if you can
look past it tonight.

Listen, nobody would want
to see Vanjie in the finale more than me.

Don't you want to live
in that kind of world?

What if we lived in a world

where Miss Vanjie
could win this whole thing?

[RuPaul] Yvie Oddly.

She, throughout this competition,
has been a pretty strong hitter.

And tonight, in the performance,

I have to say, you guys,
I think she was my favorite.

[Todrick] Her ability to describe
who she was, musically, was amazing.

This is such a big moment for Yvie.

She's taken the pressure
of this competition,

which could crush people.

-Yes.
-But instead, the pressure

has turned her into
a diamond version of herself.

A lot of these kids
are regional and they're raw,

but they've got something.

You know, learning how to shape it

and make it work in this context
is what it's all about,

and she's definitely done it.

Like, friggin' a power hitter.

All right. Silence.

I've made my decision.

Bring back my girls.

Welcome back, ladies.

You've all fought ferociously
for your spot on this stage tonight,

but only four of you
will make it through to the grand finale.

I've made some decisions.

Yvie Oddly...

Con-drag-ulations.

You're moving on
to the grand finale.

You may step to the back of the stage.

Thank you so much.

A'Keria C. Davenport.

Con-drag-ulations.

You, too, are moving on
to the finale.

Thank you so much.

Love you.

Miss Vanjie...

I'm sorry, my dear,
but you are up for elimination.

I feel like my heart has been,
like, ripped out of my chest.

I've been trying so hard,
and I'm just...

Like, I'm...

Silky Nutmeg Ganache...

Con-drag-ulations.

You're moving on to the grand finale.

[applause]

Thank you.

[Vanjie]
And not only do I have to lip sync,

now I have to lip sync
against Brooke Lynn.

I would have felt better
against anybody but him.

Anybody.

Brooke Lynn Hytes, I'm sorry, my dear,
but you are up for elimination.

[Brooke Lynn] I don't think
I deserve to be in the bottom.

Obviously, I did something
to put myself here

that the judges can see
that I cannot see.

So, I'm just gonna perform
the shit out of the song.

Two queens stand before me.

I've consulted with the judges,

but the final decision
is mine to make.

Ladies, this is your last chance
to impress me

and save yourself from elimination.

The time has come...

for you to lip sync...

for your life!

Obviously, me and Brooke Lynn
are really close,

but I don't care who's
on the other side of the stage.

There's nothing I want more
than to be here.

[Brooke Lynn] It is hard lip syncing
against someone I care about.

Like, one of us is going home after this,
and that sucks.

But we're both going to
give this our best shot.

I'm not throwing
anything away for anybody.

Good luck...
and don't fuck it up.
