16 strangers from all walks of life

are living in
this iconic London tower.

Some seized power...

Welcome to the penthouse.

..and are the Rulers at the top.

The rest have become Grafters...

Welcome to the bedrooms. ..living a
life of hard work in the basement...

What is that?
That's what you've got to eat.

..as they battle to win
up to £100,000.

Previously, Connor's big decision...

I don't know whether
I was following my head or heart.

I'm going to take the risk
and revoke my decision.

I'm going to vote you, Marina.

..shook the Grafters.
You can't trust Connor right now.

I think, 100%,
get rid of Connor first. 100%.

"You made a huge mistake last night,

"and I would be surprised if
you survive the next elimination."

Oh! And it was a double rise...

We can use Jeff as a pawn.
He is a waste of space.

Jack's done enough.
Jack deserves a place.

..as Jack and Jeff became Rulers.

I promise you, I didn't expect that.

Tonight, the basement is shocked...

Guess who's back! Hi!

Basically, on medical advice,
I shouldn't carry on.

SHE SCREAMS
Go on!

Just keep going! Push! Push!

..and the next Ruler will fall.

Your indecisiveness
could have cost him his place.

I won't let you down again. I'll
not let the Grafters down again.

I don't believe that
you deserve another chance.

CHEERING

The gap between the top and bottom
has never been closer.

This is Rise And Fall.

# When the whole world's
got the wrong idea... #

Well, isn't the city
looking epic tonight?

They say, if you're tired of London,
you're tired of life,

and two lads who are not tired
are new Rulers Jeff and Jack,

enjoying a midnight cocktail
on the penthouse roof.

Fancy!

And the opposite of fancy
is a grimy basement,

which is where
Sydney's heading back to.

# I'm just listening to my heartbeat
to the tune... #

I can't even look, mate.
I'm so nervous. Same.

# I've got to make
my own decisions... #

THEY GASP
Sydders!

I knew it! I was right!

We guessed it.

Jack and Jeff obviously got picked.

I'm absolutely gutted that me and
Jack have now just been separated.

I hope Jeff and Jack use this
opportunity to get rid of Connor

just because none of the Grafters
were impressed with him.

Connor was so indecisive
in the last fall vote,

like, he needs to be eliminated.

Did not expect that. Did you?
No, and... Not one bit.

And I've seen everything. Mm.
I'll say one thing -

we deserve it. Mm.
And we know what we're aiming for.

How are you feeling?
Did not expect that.

Welcome. Welcome.
Man's a roller. Man's a roller.

Welcome. Welcome.

Good? Yeah, good.

Jack, look after this
like you would look after Sydney.

We made it! We made it!

I'm staying. Syd's gone.
Very bittersweet.

I'll miss her, obviously,

but, hopefully, she'll be back
up here in a couple of days,

and then we're back together.

It's just a case
of now getting stuck in

and getting started to work.

That'll be your bed.
Right, sit on it.

You ain't going to fucking know
what's hit you.

Why? Cos look how...

Oh, wow!

I'm most looking forward
to having a double bed

and a normal pillow and duvet,
but my spooning partner's gone,

so I'm going to have
to spoon a pillow.

Can I have a shower? Yeah. I can
jump in the shower, can I? Yeah.

Are you serious? Yeah.
It's your house! Yeah, I know.

It's weird. I don't know where
anything is or how I do shit, bruv.

Don't it send you off the rails
when you...? It's fucked, mate.

I'm used to regimented shit.

Isn't it weird to think
your Grafter life is over?

Oh, my God.

I always knew I would get here.
I'm where I belong.

I'm now going to do the job
that I love.

I'm an excellent leader.

This is mental.

I actually feel like
I'm going to cry.

It's nuts, isn't it?

Just fucking mad, isn't it?

That's exactly how I felt.

Connor's been, like,
my day one, basically.

Since I've come in,
we've been very close.

But a lot of people down in the
basement aren't really feeling him.

I know it's not going
to be plain sailing up here.

Oh! He's having a little tear.
Crying?

Are you? It's madness, bruv.

I feel like I've been in the army
and I've just come home.

Welcome to Ruler life, Jack.

Use the power wisely.
I intend to, boys.

The throuple's back!
Goodnight, James.

Goodnight, everyone!
Goodnight, bitches. Goodnight!

Goodnight! Love yous.

Early morning in London.

The only things that are up
are pigeons,

annoying breakfast show DJs,
and, in a few seconds, the Rulers,

and they better look lively cos
there's an elimination vote today.

Some gaff, innit? Some gaff!

Obviously, coming from the basement,
it's very, very, very different.

Slept like a baby in a double bed.

How did you sleep?

It's the first night
I've not really slept well.

There was too much on my mind.

Oh, OK.

# Good morning! Good morning!
Good morning! Good morning! #

I'm so tired.

My plan for the day
is just to prove myself,

graft as a Ruler,

and show the new Rulers what
I'm made of and what I'm capable of.

Positive talk from Connor.

And down in the basement,

the Grafters are trying to not feel
too negative about things.

I'm glad to have you back down here,
Sydney. Welcome back.

I wish it was under
better circumstances.

Selfishly, I'm really happy.
Yeah, same.

We've been sleeping
in the same bed together,

and I feel like he reminded me
of home a wee bit.

Like, it was just really nice,
so I'm a bit...

I don't know. It's sad,
but it's bittersweet.

I'm still overthinking
the Marina/Matt situation.

I've kicked myself
ever since I made that decision.

You've got to make decisions.
No, I know.

I think I should have just gone
with my head the first time

and just sent Marina home.

Connor's Connor, isn't he?
Listen, I love him to pieces.

Whether I think
he's a good Ruler or not,

I'm not too sure yet.

I feel like the others
are probably stronger than him

in terms of ruling, so it's such
a hard decision to make later on.

But he's a good ally, so do you get
rid of someone that's a bad Ruler

but is a good ally,
just to save myself, or what?

Mm! Yes, Jack, the penthouse
comes with many, many mind games.

Speaking of which...

LIFT: Lift falling.

# It's coming for you... #

There's someone coming. Oh, fuck!

# There's gonna be bad things

# Gonna be bad things coming for you

# They're coming for you... #

..a new Grafter is incoming...

Told yous. Oh, my God!

..but this isn't just any Grafter.

CHEERING
Oh, yes!

Like Arsenal, '90s fashion
and the career of Brendan Fraser...

Guess who's back! Hi!

..Ramona is back. In the penthouse,

I'm the one who took the risk,
and then they throw me out.

This time, I want
to start from the basement.

I'm going to graft myself
to the top.

Let me show them
how lady boss gets it done.

Pah! Mic drop!

# Coming for you... #
SHE GROANS

I was feeling really great
this morning

until you guys revived the witch.

I've already suffered as it is.
I don't need to suffer any more.

Send her back home, please.

How's it going? Hi. Hello. Miss me?
Not really, but... Yeah, me neither.

Came in, like,
super positive, right?

And who the fuck do I see?

SHE SCREAMS
You don't like her?

I don't fucking like her.

Just seeing her face just really,

like, brings down
everything in the room.

I like it. It's cosy, man.

Oh, it's freezing. Freezing? Really?

So, now I'm like, you know,
stuck with Rachel's face again.

Seriously! Seriously?

We can't let the basement
hog this bombshell, though.

Look at this, Jack!

Time to give the Rulers
the best news they've had all year.

Ramona's in! Ramona?!

Ramona's in the basement.
THEY GASP

Shut up! Ramona's back.

No! Oh, my days! Oh, my God!

She'll be up tomorrow.

Well, she ain't staying. She cannot.
She... She ain't staying.

Was she bad up here, was she?
Mate, nightmare.

Nightmare. Dictator. Fucking hell!

Look at my little Syd. My God!

Wow! Ramona!

SHE LAUGHS

Let's talk about Matt,
shall we? Plain Matt?

Yeah, screw him, man.

He ain't going to be here long,
I can tell you that already.

And he best watch his back

cos I'm literally going
to pull him to the ground.

SHE LAUGHS

LAUGHTER ECHOES

With the ruler elimination vote
happening tonight...

That's nice out there. Yeah.

..Jack's been looking for
an opportunity

to get something off his chest
to Connor.

I'm going to vote for Connor
this evening

purely for the fact that,
before I left, the Grafters,

my team down in the basement,
we all had the decision that

that's what they wanted, basically.

They've sent us up here,
basically, to get rid of you.

Have they? You know
how much I love you as a person

and how much I know you can do.

We've been together since day one,
and you made a mistake

and I genuinely believe
you're going to change it around,

and I know you have
the Grafters in mind.

Jack told me that

the Grafters have sent them up here
to boot me out.

I think he's worried
for the same backlash

if he doesn't get rid of me.
I made one mistake,

and, sometimes,
one mistake is a bit too much.

Yeah, not all the time.
Look at Ramona.

She came in,
went straight to the penthouse,

firebombed her position as Ruler,

got voted out first,
and now she's back.

LIFT: Attention, please.

Ooh! The lift. Why did the lift go?

LIFT: All Grafters report
to the work space.

Today, you will be taking part
in a clinical trial.

No! What does that mean?

A clinical trial is when
they test things on you.

I'm absolutely gutted,
but I have a trapped nerve,

and there's only so much
I can do physically,

so I'm really sorry
not to be a part of this.

But I have every, every faith
in you guys. We'll do it for you.

We'll do it for you.
Yeah, I'm stepping in. Yeah.

All right, guys, let's get to it.

So, I've had a really tough 24,
almost 48 hours

with a trapped nerve,

and it's just taken the whole of
the sort of, you know, left side of

my upper body out, really.

It is so demoralising...

..and it's so painful.

First day at work.
Come on, girl! Let's go!

Buzzing! We can celebrate
when you get back, yeah?

All right, girl. Rest up!

I think anybody in a first work
shift has a lot to prove, right?

But it's not to prove to myself.

I'm here to prove to them

that I can graft, and I can graft
all the way to the top.

Well, for this work shift,
we're a Joanna down,

but we're about to be a Greg up
because here I am...

..with a jumper the same colour
as the walls.

Hello, Rulers! Hi! How are you,
Greg? How are you, mate?

Two new arrivals. Good to see you.
Nice to see you, Greg.

Nice of you to join us.

As Rulers, as we know,
your primary objective

is to increase that prize fund,
which currently stands at £34,600.

Wow! Incredible. Pretty good.
Yeah. Pretty good.

But I know you can do better.

Now, shall we find out
what their shift is today?

ALL: Yes! All right.

Oh, no. Oh!

Oh, no! What?!

Is that an ice-bucket bath?
Oh, my God.

That's an ice bath.
Oh, my God. Look - treadmill.

Treadmill's fine. That's nice.
And a sauna. And a sauna.

Today, the Grafters will take part
in two clinical trials.

Oh, this is interesting.

They will experience
either extreme heat,

exercising in a 90-degree sauna,

or extreme cold,

being submerged
in a freezing-cold ice bath.

HE GASPS

Rulers will decide how hard
to push the Grafters in each trial.

The more they push them,
the more money they can earn,

but each round
will get harder and harder.

Jesus!

Unlike previous work shifts,

Grafters will be
earning money individually.

If all Grafters complete all tests,

£20,000 will be added
to the prize fund.

However, if you push them too far
and one of the Grafters drops out,

you'll lose all the money that
that Grafter has earned so far.

I'm worried about this one.
That is a worry.

From being down there
and knowing what it's like,

it's freezing cold 24/7.

You're in your beds
cos it's so cold.

I know we're managing a prize fund,
but at the same time,

you don't want to push them too far.

Listen, they'll give it a go, 100%.
There's not one person there

that'll turn around and be like,
"I'm not going to do it."

At least do one round,
address it after the first. OK.

LIFT: Grafters, stand by
for a message from your Rulers.

Grafters, listen, I'm only upstairs.
It's not like I'm far away from you.

Syd, love you, miss you.

Aw! There, I said it.

Yeah, he said the L-word...
SHE LAUGHS

..and, obviously, said he missed me,
which I'm happy about.

Obviously, I really miss him.

Grafters,
first facing the extreme heat are

Eddie, Moses, Ramona and Rossi,

and those facing the extreme cold
are Sophie,

Sydney, Rachel and Isaak.

I've not even had
a cold shower, guys.

Just a little bit of pain.

If you're happy to start
the first test,

please press your buttons.

Yeah. Yeah.

HE GASPS

Cosy in here!

All red! Oh, my God.

LIFT: Attention, please.
KLAXON BLARES

One minute added.

Potential earnings -
£200 per grafter.

How are you guys feeling?
Good. Really, really...

I'm fine in heat,
but exercising in heat? Hell no!

You know how they have,
like, hot yoga?

Yeah. This is like hot treadmilling.

SHE LAUGHS
People pay a lot of money for that.

The worst part of my work shift
was breathing in the hot air.

It was like smoking
a 20 pack of fags.

Oh, the heat is crazy.
Yeah, it's nice.

Test number two is jogging
on the treadmill for one minute.

Their spirits are higher.
Their mind-set is perfect.

Go for it. Yeah.

LIFT: One minute added.

Potential earnings -
£400 per Grafter.

Oh, God. This will be a tough one,
I think, for them.

It's very relaxed.

Let's go, guys.

Deep breath now. Deep breath.

Eddy's great in there. He's a great
motivator. Yeah.

We've got this. Get aggressive with
it.

All right, you've got this.

It's good to see Ramona
getting stuck in.

I love seeing here smile like
that, getting stuck in..

RAMONA: Fuck me! You all right?
I haven't done this in long time.

I did not stop.

I really did not stop.

I kept going. Kept going.

Amazing. GREG: Would you like them
to go again? Yeah.

I'll go again. I'm not sure.

Test number three is a two
minute jog.

It's like they're jogging round the
park. They're just so comfortable.

I'm going again. I agree, yeah. I'm
going again.

LIFT: Two minutes added.

Potential earnings, £700 per
grafter.

Good work, guys! Well done, Rossi!

So I'm feeling hot.

Extremely hot.

The breathing is the thing.

You can't really take your breath.

Rossi's struggling a little bit.
He is.

You can see his breathing
is increasing. Yeah.

Yeah, well, we'll just think
about that in a minute.

Rossi has said that he is well
out of shape.

We're probably doing him a favour
here.

It's a free... It's free gym
membership. Jack! We are.

Deep breath, keep moving.

Argh!

Hold on, Ramona.
Whoa! Come on!

BUZZER SOUNDS

LIFT: Rossi, you have failed to
maintain the minimum speed.

You have lost all your individual
earnings.

Has he stopped? He's been
eliminated.

He's not jogging,
I think it's that he was walking.

It's all right, don't worry about
it. It was... It was hot.

You did well anyway,
so... I didn't.

Really upset.

We're a team and it's just,
like, letting them down.

But nothing can be done.

HE SNIFFLES

Oh, it's just tough.

Oh, my God!

Go on! Just keep going. Push,
Ramona. Push!

Ramona's struggling.

But Ramona hasn't given up.

She hasn't... She...
She looks all right.

RAMONA: It was really difficult
to gasp a breath.

And if you don't have breath,

how the hell are you supposed
to keep going, right?

OK, rulers. The final test will be
£1,200 per grafter. All right.

If they can jog for four minutes
on the treadmill.

I don't feel comfortable pressing
the button on the next one.

I do. Just one go.

I reckon we go for it.

Just go? Yeah?

LIFT: Four minutes added.

Go on, guys!

LIFT: Potential earnings,
£1,200 per grafter.

Get that rhythm.
They might as well reserve

the energy they've got left now.
No need to keep talking.

I can't give up now.

I can't give up now.

And I swear to God, I'm like...

SHE MIMICS LABOURED BREATHING

Come on, Ramona. Keep going.

Dig deep!

Get those beats up, go on!

BUZZER SOUNDS

LIFT: Ramona, you have failed to
maintain the minimum speed.

You have lost all your individual
earnings.

Oh, unlucky! Good effort, though!
We had to go for it.

We had to go for it. We had to go
for it.

Ramona! Ramona, mate, you smashed
it!

Maybe my speed is, like, a second
slower.

I am disappointed with myself.
But come on.

I'm like... I'm still moving.

Oh, Moses. What's Moses...?

Is Moses...? Moses is struggling.

It's incredibly hot in there.

Intense heat, like.
I don't think he should carry on.

My stamina is going.

My throat is dry.

Although I'm tired, I want to prove
to myself and prove to everyone

up there that I am probably one
of the most valuable player

in this team right now.

Come on, come on! Come on, Moses!

WOMAN: Come on, you've got this!

Come on, Moses. Come on, Moses. You
can do this.

Five, four, three, two, one.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

LIFT: Grafters, stop jogging.
Trial complete.

They did it! Oh, yes!

Yeah., you guys killed it!

Oh, I'm so happy for you!

Successful challenge. Great effort.

All right, guys. That's class, that.

Moses, smashed it.

Well, congratulations, rulers.

Two grafters successfully
completed four tests,

five grand in the prize fund.

Let's move on to the cold trial.

LIFT: Attention, please.

Please enter the tanks and standby
for your first test.

Go on!

ISAAK EXHALES HEAVILY

Fuckin' 'ell!

THEY LAUGH

For the first test, all they have to
do is lie down in the icy cold bath

for one minute.

Oh, that's not easy.

Yes, it's not easy.

Every grafter that completes
this test

will add £400
to the prize fund.

I mean, I've had an ice
baths for football.

A minute, it's a long time
in freezing temperatures.

Especially when they're already
freezing cold.

I'd definitely say go for the first
one.

Do the first one, see how they look
and feel.

OK, rulers, if you're happy
for the first test to go ahead,

please press your buttons.

LIFT: Grafters, lie down.

SHE GASPS

SHE SCREAMS

Come on! Meditate.

Breathe in. Meditate, guys.

Slow breathing. Go into zen.

Relax. Yeah.

Well done. Yes, Isaak.

Like, just holding in my breath
a little bit

was helping me get a bit more warm.

Just ignore the outside world.

Unbelievable effort, guys.

She's doing really well, Sydney.
And Sophie.

BUZZER SOUNDS

LIFT: Grafters, stand up.

Well done, guys. Come on! Well done.

Come on!

On a scale of one to ten, how hard
is it?

11.

It's this bit that's worse.

Yeah, this is hard.

When you stand up from it,
oh, the pain.

I literally can't tell you how much
it burns.

Isaak, how are you feeling?

It's touching my bollocks
at the minute. OK.

Nice.

OK, rulers. If they go again,
they'll have to lie

down for two minutes.

God... If they do that, they'll earn
£900 each.

Three girls in there, they have long
hair. It'll be freezing.

I feel like we shouldn't push them
too far.

It's probably going to start feeling
warm, to be honest.

Come on, guys! Girl! Are you
serious?!

It's not going to get warm.

I think they've got it, you know?

They're freezing. I ain't going
again.

It's the trust thing I worry about.

All it needs is one of you to press
the button.

Cheryl's decision making
process at this point

is about as good as a two-year-old
telling me where to go in a car.

She doesn't even think.

Cheryl's pressed the button. Test
two will go ahead.

They could do it. You've got to take
risks, just press the button.

LIFT: Grafters, lie down.

Come on! Come on, let's go.

WOMAN GASPS

SHE SHRIEKS

Woo!

Well done, Rachel. A little smile.
Just ride it out.

Mind over matter.

Come on, Isy. You can do it, man.

I was thinking about the people
that are close to me and loving

memories got me through that.

They do look quite strong still.
Yeah, they do.

They look really strong.

Soph, you're doing so well.

See, once you're in, you're in. It's
mind over matter.

Breathe. Come on, Sydney, you can do
this.

You're strong as hell.

Guys, you've got all the rounds
under your belt.

We've got this.

Have you thought about weeing
in there? It's be warmer.

THEY CHUCKLE
BUZZER SOUNDS

LIFT: Grafters, stand up.

Unbelievable! Well done, man.

Rulers, would you like to know
what the final test is?

Yes, please.

The grafters have to lie
down in the bath for four minutes.

They also have to dunk their head
under twice. Ah!

If they do it,

£1,200 each.

You think you can do one more?
I think we can do it.

Yeah. Yeah. You can do it.

A deep one. Exactly,
come on! Exactly!

They're laughing, they're all
laughing.

Do you think now, Jack, right...?

What do you think now?

All I know is they've got to now go
home to cold showers.

You can see she's shaking.

You've got over half the money,
ain't you?

Jack obviously knows
us all incredibly well,

and I think he's going to push
for another one.

And I hope he does, because I know
you guys have all got it.

LIFT: Attention, please.

Trial complete. Oh!

Grafters, exit the tanks.

Oh! We could have done it.
We actually could have done it.

I thought they would have done it.
Well done, guys, anyway.

Well done, guys.

OK, rulers, you decided
to stop the cold trial there,

but you have banked £5,200.

Over the two trials,
you have banked £10,200.

Yes! Yes! Well done. Well done.

Well done, gang.

It's quite overwhelming
being up here and it is a lot.

But first day on the job,
I'm going in hard.

I'm going to rule the rulers today
and I don't think anyone's

going to probably fight me back.

After another work shift that blew
hot and cold, the rulers

are returning to the penthouse
for a very technical debrief.

Thank you, everyone.

What a day!

What a day, what a day, what a day!

Really impressed me.

Really impressed me.

I was very impressed with them.
Very impressed.

They done amazing. And it was
brilliant teamwork as well.

Yeah.

I'm so happy Ramona's come back
and done that.

In work shift, all you want is
somebody to give 100%

Yeah. 5,000 for standing on a
treadmill in a sauna,

you know, it's incredible.
It's a massive amount of money.

A good day's work.
Good job.

We haven't got that connection
we had down in the basement.

That's what's going to happen. I
told you this, didn't I?

I'm so 50/50 with what I'm doing
tonight. So 50/50.

You know what, I'm 50/50 as well.

Is it between those two?

Yeah. For different reasons.

I know what they want me to do
down there, and I can't...

Betraying them lot down there
is fucking eating me up.

Anyone for tea? I'm all
right, cheers.

Cheryl wants tea, two sugars,
and I'll have just a white coffee.

CHERYL: I'M HORMONAL!

Why isn't anyone listening to me?

Let's leave before Cheryl hears
one of them

and we witness something horrific.

Downstairs, penthouse politics is
the last thing on Joanna's mind

right now, as she's got some sad
news for her fellow grafters.

So, you know how I've been last 24,
48 hours? Yeah.

Um, basically, on medical
advice,

I shouldn't carry on.

And as much as I don't want to go...

I mean, I've lost sort of every
ounce of energy.

And, you know, it's hard to be
around such an amazing, buoyant

group when you're... When you're
like this.

It was better to take me
out of the equation.

I know without this injury, how much
further you could push. Yeah.

That's so frustrating.

Yeah.

Well, you can leave with your head
held high.

Joanna was the most genuine person
in the game by a country mile.

I'm willing you all on.

You're going to do
absolutely magnificently.

Every player, every single one of
you.

Just saying goodbye to everyone,

you know, it's the hardest thing.

Each and every one of them,
I will sorely miss.

I love you guys.

Love you. Bye!
See you later. Love you.

See you, gorge!

I love you guys! Love you!

She was like the mum of the group.

It is devastating, but she couldn't
carry on like that.

She wasn't very well, bless her, and
she'll be really missed.

Hear, hear, Rossi.

Farewell, Joanna - the grafters'
grafter.

Do you know where you're voting
tonight? Tonight? Yes, I do. Yeah.

Connor, the other
day, he changed his mind.

He voted Marina.

When you say one thing and do
another...

He's easily influenced, I think.

He's likely to be the next person
out.

Unless, when I say the next
person out,

Cheryl, that foghorn.

I know that you're very fond of her

and only the other day you thought
that she could go on to win,

but nothing useful came
out of Cheryl's mouth.

How on earth she has lasted
this long...

I'll have to speak to the gods.

I don't think it's your time
to be going.

I think you've had a bit
of a wobble.

I think tactically now, if he votes
for you or looks at the grafts...

He's listening to the grafters. I've
got to listen to the grafters.

You've got to listen to the
grafters.

It gives you the chance to
explain the situation.

You vote for Cheryl,

I got reasons why I'm going
to vote for her.

Matt's 50/50 on you at the moment.

If I go for Cheryl now,
then I'll look like a fucking proper

snake down there and I'll fuck
myself.

When people come up, they'll be
like, "All you've done is say,

"'I'm listening to the grafters.'"

Then it's the first decision I go...
Because we are close pals.

Yeah. You've got to play it smart.
No, 100%.

I don't think he's going to go
for Cheryl. Who?

Matt. I think I'm going to get four.

I am not ready to go yet.

I don't want to vote Cheryl out,
but I need to do what I need to do

to keep me in the game and keep me
in the penthouse.

Before all that, though,
Connor, it's dinner time.

Whatever happens in the full vote
tonight,

at least the rulers
will be doing it on a full stomach.

I'll tell you what. It's hard.
It is hard in here, innit?

Mentally and physically,
it's fucking draining.

Is it harder than you thought?

Mate, I'd do the basement every
day of the fucking week.

I'm not used to it. It's not really
me. I'm usually the grafter.

Know what I mean? I'm not one of the
people that sits in an office

looking down.
That's not really my cup of tea.

LIFT: Attention, please.

Would one ruler read from the
tablet?

Do you want me to do it?
What is it?

Rewards. "Rulers can reward
individual grafters

"for their performance
during the work shift.

"On offer is six standard meals,

"one extra large meal and one small
meal."

Right. OK.

"Your decision should be based
on grafters' performances

"in today's work shift.

"Each reward given will deduct
£100 for the prize fund."

Obviously, we've got to decide,
are we all happy

to give £100 each? Yeah.
It doesn't bother no-one?

Yeah. 800 quid, yeah?

As a grafter, or an ex-grafter,
I know how much it means

when that lift says, "The rewards
are here."

I'm happy to spend the money.

I'd say Ed would take the extra
large because of what he does

in the house as well, for everything
else.

He's the cook. He's the chef.

Sometimes it's nice for him
to get given back... Yeah. ..to him.

And in the task he was pulling
everyone along. Mm-hm.

The six standard you can dish out
to whoever, really,

doesn't really make a difference.
And the small, I'd give it to

Ramona... Ramona's a good shot as
well. ..because she's been out

larging it up, been in here, didn't
even finish the fucking thing,

got disqualified. Yes, I get it, she
gave it a all. But she has been out.

CONNOR: Jack's been down there.

He knows everyone's strengths
and what everyone needs.

He's been there the longest.

So Jack is taking that
lead in tonight's decision.

Who wants to deliver the message?
Go on, Jack, I think, or Jeff.

Jeff or Jack can deliver. I'll be
delighted to. Go on, then, mate.

I've done one already today. You go
ahead. Go on, Jacky boy! Good man.

Good luck. Have fun, mate.
Enjoy delivering the message. Bye.

He'll get lost on the way. That
message is never getting delivered.

LIFT: Attention, please!

Oh! Movie time, come here!

Hello, Grafters. Congratulations
on today's work shift.

We were given the opportunity
to reward you

with some food and drink.

Each Grafter we have rewarded takes

£100 off of the prize fund.

We've decided to reward
eight Grafters.

Nice. Based upon his performance
in the work shift today,

we have rewarded Eddy with

an extra-large meal.

Aw! Eddy, you are
absolutely brilliant...

Amazing. ..not just in this work
shift, but in general. You are.

And we have allocated Ramona
with a small meal.

This is based on the fact that
you've only just come in...

Fair do's.
..whilst the other Grafters

have been working their butts off,

with very little food whatsoever.

Understandable. That's fair enough.
Yeah. All right, guys.

# One day, I'm gonna see... #

CHEERING

Oh, my God!

It's my day one.

I'm not here to seek a reward

for today. I think we did great.

What is this, a quiche?

I was given
the bigger portion of food.

Was it deserved? Maybe not.

You know, everybody did

an unbelievable shift today, so

I think everybody
probably deserved a pie.

Eddy, that's so generous.
Are you sure you have enough? Yeah.

I've got loads. And we can share
this cheese. The cheese board.

This... This was amazing.

Eddy, he is the most

humblest out of all of us.

He doesn't talk about cars.
He only has four shoes. Four shoes!

I just feel like he can't leave

the basement any time soon.
It sounds so bad, but

he is really, really

one of the most valuable,
like, person down here.

Cheers to everybody.
Cheers! And for...

To Joanna.
OTHERS: To Joanna! Yeah.

While the Grafters toast to Joanna,

upstairs, one of the Rulers
is about to become toast,

and I think it might be
getting to Cheryl a bit.

Hi. Connor, I can't stand it! What?

What's going on? What do you mean,
what's going on? With what?

SHE LAUGHS

With everything!
With the Red Room tonight!

Why don't we all vote for James?

What, are you prepared
to lose your place?

Have you got the heart
to vote for James?

No.I know you haven't!
THEY LAUGH

Oh, I can't do this today.
My nerves are shot.

Connor thinks everybody's his friend
right now, and they're not.

Do you know, I've just...

James is going to vote for me.

And you're going to vote for me.

I won't vote for you.

If we all go for the one person!

Yeah, but... Yeah, you need to...
SHE LAUGHS

If I do that, my days are numbered.

But they're numbered anyway,
all of our days are numbered!

Just flip it over, Connor,
it's a game.

You're being an easy target

and letting it happen,
when we can turn it.

We can flip this,
and you fucking smashed it.

I think Cheryl and Connor are both
on the chopping board. Cheryl was

laughing her head off,
saying to Connor,

"If you want to stay,
let's all just vote James."

Connor, you could see he was
just getting really flustered.

You haven't got the heart!
You're just going to go on, yeah?

< Let's do it.
Let's flip the coin.

What the fuck is going on? I can
hear you talking about basically

getting me out. And for Matt
to be in that conversation,

when I used my head a few days ago
to vote Marina out and save him...

People are obviously willing
to backstab, and I know that,

but when it comes to the reality
of the situation, it just hurts.

With six Rulers in the penthouse,

tensions are at an all-time high,

and they're on their way
to the Red Room right now

for a showdown at the top.

Who will be the fifth Ruler to fall?

We all know the Red Room can

change minds like that.

Now I'm determined to fight for
my place. I just need

to prove why I need
to be here and what

I'm capable of.

My head's choosing Connor,

but my heart wants to choose Cheryl,

but I've got to go with my head
in this situation, as much as it

kills me to do, because he's
one of my closest people in here.

I'm going to go in the Red Room

and do what I do best.
I've prepared myself

for the worst, but I'll still fight.

LIFT: Attention, Grafters.

GIGGLING

Oh, my God, memories! Memories!

Cheryl's on my seat. Oh, they don't
look very friendly. Yeah,

it doesn't look good.
Jack does not look happy.

LIFT: Rulers, only the strongest
among you can survive. You must

now vote for one Ruler
to lose their power.

The Ruler with the most votes
will be eliminated from the game

and must leave
the building immediately.

The new Rulers are immune from
elimination, but can still vote.

Connor looks like
he's shitting himself.

I think all eyes have been on me
for the last few days.

I made a serious mess-up
two days ago.

I went with my heart to save Marina

and potentially nearly cost
Matt his place in the game.

But I knew that it didn't sit right
with me, and I changed that.

You fucked up, mate.

When I thought about it, I still...
I took more of a risk

switching up and being indecisive.
I knew that would have more backlash

than me going, "You know what?
I'll send Matt home." But I'm here

for a reason. I was voted up twice
because I know I can make

a difference. You know, I totally
get the Grafters have sent

two people up to try and
get me out. I get that...

Bosh! It's not like an attack.

I know, I totally...
I respect that. Remember that.

But from looking at their
point of view, when I'm down there,

like, you all know how much they all
mean to me. Yeah, yeah. And if

I could still be there with them
all, it would be... But they've

sent me and Jeff up
to sort of steady the ship

for them when they finally arrive.

Jack. Jack!

You know how hard it is for me
to sit here and say this to you

because you're so close to me.
But unfortunately,

when you're at the top,
you're there to be shot at.

I know. Your indecisiveness
could have cost him his place.

I know. And he's brought a lot of
money to the table. And that's all

I can really say on the matter.
Obviously, I've only been here

24 hours, same as Jeff. We've
obviously watched you. Until

you're here in this seat,
complete different ball game.

I won't let you down again.
I won't let them down again.

I will not let the Grafters
down again. I've never, ever

been disloyal to any of you.
You three Grafters,

I've been down there with you.
You know how outspoken I am.

You know I say it how it is.

I made one mess-up and I think
out of them ten days I've been here,

it's one mess-up.
The ball's in your court.

I... You guys can make
your decision,

but I do believe I deserve the right
to try and prove myself again.

I think as Rulers, we all know
the pressure that we have to face

and, you know, the pressure that
builds up can sometimes make you

second-guess yourself,
and that is maybe what happened.

But when you had the opportunity
to deliberate with yourself

in that split second, you made
the right decision. And a mistake,

you know, if it's rectified,
I think should be forgiven, and you

should be given the chance,
I think, to prove that.

Connor...

Ooh, it's Jeff. Hold on,
it's big Jeff. Shush! Shush!

..there's a huge difference
between a rash decision

and a gigantic, volcanic eruption

decision that you made

the other day. And downstairs,
with the other Grafters,

all ten of them, including me, said,

"Connor has got to go."

Oh! Jeff! Oh, my God!

And I've got to be true

to those people
that I've listened to

and have lived with
for the last ten days.

However...

..I've listened to James,
in particular.

He says, "I believe that you deserve
another chance."

I don't believe that you
deserve another chance.

THEY CHEER

That's fine. I know...

..you deserve another chance...
No! No!

He just went, "No, you do
deserve another chance." No!

Oh, my God, thank you so much!

That means a lot, Jeff. Thank you.
I'm not after thanks.

It shocked us,

but in business,
I allow one huge mistake.

Are you joking, Jeff?! Jeff,
are you taking the absolute piss?!

Wait, Jeff might still
do something dodgy at the end.

Connor, I'm here because of you.

You know, you changed your mind,
which is very brave,

I'll give you that, very brave.
There was a significant amount of

pressure at this table. We're
going to make mistakes, Connor.

It's about how you
dust yourself down

and say, "Right, made a mistake,
learn from it.

"Let's crack on." He's going home,
man. He's so patronising, Matt.

That is patronising. The point of
the game that we're in now

is all about strategy
and thinking a couple of steps ahead

for whoever wins that money, whether
it's any one of us or any one

of them. Since I've been here
for the past few days, I've watched

the two of you, and I found that,
Cheryl, sometimes,

I think you're a little bit too
trigger-happy with the button.

That's been shown in two shifts I've
worked on you with. Does it work?

Hang on. That's been shown on two
shifts that I've worked with you,

yeah? And I think by you pressing
the button so fast,

even though they've worked,
you've taken away

our strategy to try and discuss as
a team. You should have just come

and spoken to me. I apologise.
This is what this is for.

Should have spoken to me about it,
but that's OK. Taking risks,

when it's such a huge amount
of money, it's a misjudgement

to do that. OK. I think
impulsiveness is detrimental

at this stage, moving forward, and
I feel like it's more impulsion

than it is risk-taking.

James is so level-headed,
it's unreal. Yeah. He just knows

when to speak and when not to speak.
Yeah. He doesn't get involved in

the pettiness.

Whether we win this money or not,
individually, we want that

cash prize to be as big as possible
for the eventual winner. If we look

at the facts, Cheryl's,
she has brought... I mean,

she's brought a lot to the table,
Cheryl can be quite loud

and vocal, but she has made some
risky decisions that have paid off.

There's a reason you're both still
sat here. Thanks. Impulsive or not,

you've both brought something else
to the table. You've been here

since day one, it's paid off,
luckily. But then, we haven't always

had chance to decide on you pressing
the button. No, and I understand

that now, James. You know, I've
took that well on board, and I

appreciate what you've just said, so
thank you. That's a learning curve.

Yeah? At the end of the day,
it ain't about us in this room.

It's about whoever comes up
and takes the prize money. I know.

There's not one person down there
doesn't deserve to take it. I know.

I agree. We've all got to work
together now. Totally agree.

The shit part is, someone's got to
go. So instead of sitting around,

pointing fingers... I'd just
get on with it. Exactly that.

Just do it now. Get the bus moving.

50/50 between Cheryl and Connor.

It's Connor, guys. It's Cheryl, man.

LIFT: Rulers, you must now vote for
who should be eliminated.

The Ruler that receives the most
votes will be eliminated.

It's a very, very tense atmosphere.

Obviously, we're only in there
for one reason.

Someone's got to go home,

and only the strongest survive.

LIFT: Jeff voted for...

..Cheryl.

When Cheryl got feedback from
two or three of the Grafters,

she said she was definitely
going to take it on board,

and I hoped I would see
a marked difference.

Regretfully, I didn't.

I don't do loud voices.

LIFT: Matt voted for...

..Connor.
Yeah, Connor's gone.

For me, the prize pot is currently
up to sort of 45-50k.

We've got a big responsibility
to manage that.

And what I've not seen from you
is have the resilience and

the ability to dust yourself down

and come with us. Just
forgive yourself for the mistake

and crack on.

LIFT: James voted for...

..Cheryl.
GASPING

Mm. Two for Cheryl.

So the reason for me is, and this is
how I feel and believe,

impulsiveness is not a strength
of a Ruler.

She did not appreciate that one bit.
I wouldn't.

LIFT: Cheryl voted for...

Cheryl's smart.
She'd have gone for Connor.

..Connor. It's nothing personal.
I just wanted you to sort of

be a little bit kind to yourself
a little bit more,

because we're allowed to make
mistakes. Yeah. Please just

shine like the person you are.

LIFT: Connor...

..voted for Cheryl.

Yeah! That's three-two.

Today, I see you kind of...

within yourself, that you
weren't the Cheryl I know.

I don't want you to crack, as
the time progresses, you know?

With three votes for Cheryl
and two votes for Connor,

it all comes down to
newly-risen Ruler Jack.

He's going to go for Connor.

Jack's going to go for Cheryl.

LIFT: Jack voted for...
