Revolution (2012–2014): Season 2, Episode 21 - Memorial Day - full transcript

United by their desire to take the Patriots down, Neville and Monroe form an uneasy alliance. While searching for Aaron, Rachel comes face to face with the nanotech; and things don't go according to plan for Miles, Charlie and Gene when they try to steal the Patriots' supply of mustard gas.

You have never once
let me do things my way.

You want a shot, you got one.

Everybody, run, now!

It's mustard gas!

We are losing, Miles.
We lost 20 men today.

The only thing
that matters, Miles,

- is beating these guys.
- I'm in.

Miles, what's this?

Rachel: You mix lye and water,
and it neutralizes mustard gas.

Now we got nothing
to fight 'em with, Miles!

Marion, this is mustard gas.

Patriots are
using this stuff on us.

Well, what do you
want me to do?

Nobody has better eyes
on Truman than you.

Tell us what he's up to.

- You're the nano.
- Just do what we say,

and you will get Priscilla back.

In the meantime,
you will be our guide,

and you won't tell anyone.

Where are you going?

We don't need Miles.

You want to kill me, Tom?

Then kill me.

You're gonna let the boy go.

I don't want to kill you.

You and me...
we've got work to do.

What kind of work?

Julia's dead.

I'm sorry.

The Patriots killed her
because I couldn't catch you.

They were never gonna
let her go, Tom.

You know that, right?

That's what Jason said.

So what now?

I am gonna take the Patriots down

one corpse at a time.

I am gonna cut a path
to Washington

and put a bullet
in the president's face.

Make Sherman's March
feel like a 10K fun run.

Is that the sort of work that,
uh, you'd be interested in?

That is music to my ears.

- What about Miles?
- Miles...

You, uh...

You think Miles
would have a problem with that?

He's not willing to do what it takes.

Not like us.

Have both tanks filled by 10:30.

Clean the gauges.

- Two-three-two going out for water.
- Open the gate.

You Joe?

Yes.

And I know who you are.

You sure no one saw you?

We know what we're doing.

Trust us.

Well, maybe Marion says you're OK,
but I don't know you.

Same here, buddy.
Nice armband.

How do we know
you're not gonna turn us in?

- Well, maybe I should.
- Miles: All right.

Marion says you're OK.

Marion says we're OK.

We're all OK.

Have you seen
the mustard gas or not?

How many barrels
we talking about?

One.

One? What do you mean, one?

Look close at the end
of the car toward the base.

Yeah, I see it.

Yellow cross.

Their little code for mustard gas.

Whole damn tanker car full of it.

- That's a problem.
- You think?

You know who would've been
helpful with all this?

Monroe.

Yeah, well, he's probably
halfway north by now,

which means, sadly,
we're left with you.

What's for lunch?

Same as always.
The man likes what he likes.

I know you're busy, Brian.
You go on. Let me set up.

Yes, ma'am.

- My favorite.
- Come on and eat.

Wait.

- Take it you didn't find him.
- It's been 24 hours.

There's no sign of Aaron
or Priscilla anywhere.

We have to go.
We have to look for them. All of us.

I get it. it's a problem.
But it's not our only problem.

We got a problem.

You're sure it was
General Carver in that picture.

He's the president of Texas.
I know what he looks like.

It was his picture
and that yellow cross symbol,

plans, schedules,

and a circled date,
tomorrow's date.

Well, that all adds up to awful.

So what do you think?

I think they're sending
the gas to Austin.

Patriots tried to kill Carver
once before.

Now they're just doubling down.

Gas the capitol.
Kill a couple thousand people.

Pin it on California.
Stage their own Pearl Harbor.

Then there's no stopping it.

Texas and California go to war,
wipe each other out.

Patriots take over the rest.

Can we neutralize the gas?

We'll never sneak
that much lye into the yard.

But... maybe, um...

Rachel, you're gonna have
to find Aaron and Priscilla alone.

- Sorry.
- What about you?

Us?

We're gonna steal a train.

Easy.

- They know you're gone?
- Course they do.

I'm out getting a wagon
for the big heist.

Heist?

We're stealing a train

with a tanker car
full of yellow cross.

Tom, how would you feel
about driving a tanker car

filled with mustard gas
straight into the heart of DC?

And shove it down the throats
of these sons of bitches?

You had me at mustard gas.

Marion's back.

She brought the people
you asked for.

This is my resistance?

I told you I needed six good people
to steal that train.

You bring me
Miley and Billy Ray.

Most people don't like you.

- It's all I could get.
- Well, it's not good enough.

We can get in and out
of that train yard,

which is a hell of a lot more
than you can do.

You know how to fight?

Or kill a man?

Go home.
I'll figure something else...

What? No, wait.
Look, we got to help.

You got to let us help,
you understand me?

Everybody else in town
is waving a patriot flag.

Why you so hot to join up?

Miles, this is Joe Matthews.

He lost his son, Dillon,
to the Patriots.

It's my boy.

Her brother.

He went out to their boot camp.

Marion told me how they
scrambled those kids' heads.

They did something to him.

We never saw Dillon again.

I guess you'll have to do.

You know, that's the father
of the kid you shot in Austin.

Yeah, I know.

You gonna tell him?

Not until we get
through this mess,

but, yeah, I'm gonna tell him.

Miles, this is never gonna work,
not with these people.

Charlie, I can't change
the things I've done

or who I was when I did them.

All I can change is what I do
from here on out.

So you're gonna trust him.

I got every instinct
in me screaming no.

But I'm trying to picture
what a good guy would do.

And a good guy would trust him.

All right.

- Being a good guy sucks.
- Yeah, it really does.

- I don't want to go back.
- Marion.

When I think
about what Ed's done,

what's he's planning to do...

I mean, my God,
I was gonna marry him.

I'm not that good an actor.

He's gonna know
something's wrong.

If you don't go back,
he'll definitely know.

I'm scared, Gene.

We know that you're dumb
enough to do the right thing

and smart enough
to be terrified by it.

You can do this, Marion.

- Rachel?
- Aaron?

You got to go.

- What the hell is going on?
- We're all good.

Everything is good,
but you got to go.

Really? Really, you're good?

Rachel, please, you got to-

Priscilla: Rachel...

Welcome to our home.

Well, she's here.
She's seen everything.

You might as well tell her.

Rachel: Tell me what?

Priscilla's the nano.

I'm sorry.
What does that mean?

It means that they've
taken over her body

and they're keeping
the real Priscilla

locked away inside her head.

So that happened.

It's good we can
finally speak, Rachel,

face to face.

What are you doing
with these people in here?

I want you to understand.

Come with me.

It's been a weird month.

The floor is moving.

No, we have a rat room.

When I started with the rats,
it was the same thing,

lots of trial and error,
lots of mistakes.

But now look at them.

A system in
agreement with itself.

They are content.

I did the same with the fireflies.

- I want to do the same with you.
- That is insane.

I'm sorry, but it's your species
that's insane.

It's your defining characteristic,

the way you all inflict pain
on each other,

this relentless drive
to eat, kill, and orgasm,

like hairless chimpanzees.

- It breaks my heart.
- You don't have a heart

I have feelings.

I've grown, evolved,
and you can, too.

I can help you, fix you.

The human brain is complicated,

the hardware more complex,

but with enough time,
I can upgrade it.

Upgrade it.

I can make you...

How dare you?

What you've done
to those people,

lo Priscilla, and God knows
what hell you've put Aaron through.

You're my damn science project.

Why are the ones who made me
so afraid of what I am?

I love you both.

I will never turn away from you.

Never.

- Morning.
- Wagon check, please.

Oh, it's OK.

Bill, the other guard, he knows me.

Wagon check, please.

Good enough to eat, right?

My back.

Peters was asking for you
over by the tender car on the 440.

Tell him I'm busy.

OK, he said something about
the boiler having a leak, though.

Damn it.

Peters.

Do what we say, you might
make it home for dinner.

Now, we're gonna need you
to get this train moving.

The boiler...
It's not hot enough yet.

Well, get it hot enough.

Now!

I'm saying we gotten cars
to move to the south track

by the end of the day,
so let's not...

- Took care of it?
- Took care of it.

- You took care of it?
- I took care of it!

Hey, the engine!

Let's go!
Roll this stupid thing.

Miles, problem.

Ricochet got him.

Joe, you're a train guy.

- Can you drive it?
- I saw him do it once.

Well, once is all we need.

Here's your chance, Joe.
Let's go.

OK, uh...

Uh... Notes.

Oh, hell.

- Today, Joe!
- I know!

Come on!

Stop them!

Stop 'em!

Don't let 'em get away!

- Faster would be good, Joe.
- I'm trying!

Got to admit
that was kind of fun.

Pull that whistle, Joe!
We just stole a train.

What are you looking at?

As if you didn't know.

Know what?

You telling me...

...that you didn't find this in here?

Ed.

Here.

What's the occasion?

You've made me happy, Marion.

I love you.

I love you too, Ed.

Train'll be here any minute.

Then I'm supposed to take
all this lye

and neutralize the gas.

Do a lap.
Make sure we're alone.

So, what is it with him... Miles?

I mean, my dad looks like
he's ready to murder someone.

You know, more than usual,
ever since...

Since Miles kicked him
to the curb?

Well, yeah.

So what's the story there?

Don't ask, don't tell.

- Come on, I'm serious.
- Kid, seriously.

I've been asking myself
that question for years.

Whatever twisted love-hate,
Cain-Abel brotherhood thing

they got going,
it just clouds their judgment.

Makes them both look weak.

That's a problem, isn't it?

Dad will never get the Republic back
as long as Miles is out there.

What do you mean by that?

Just making conversation.

Where's she going?

She's going out
to find more test subjects.

We have to stop her.
You know that, right?

Shh... She's got,
like, super hearing.

Let's see.

Turn around, you damn robot.

- We're gonna stop you.
- Rachel.

Well, there you go.

Maybe the longer
it's in Priscilla, it's...

...I don't know... more limited.

Where are you going?

No, stop, stop.
What are you looking for?

Anything that might help.

Do you want to save Priscilla
or not?

Of course I do.
You don't understand.

Then tell me.

This thing has been in control
of every move I've made.

You can't fight it.
It knows everything.

It might as well be God.

Why do you think I slapped her?

Because you're Rachel.

It was a test.

I wanted to see
if she could see it coming.

She can't.

That bitch
doesn't know everything.

She's a machine,
and we made her.

We can surprise her.

We're gonna save Priscilla.

I need your help to do it.

Come on.
We don't have a lot of time.

Unload the lye.

Get on the wagon. Let's go.

Hey, Miles.

That's right' Drop it.

- Back it up.
- Drop them.

I knew I should've just killed you.

Neville?

Really?

Sorry, Miles,
but we're stealing your train.

What exactly do you plan to do
with all that mustard gas?

I'm gonna drive it
right into the heart of DC,

and I'm gonna burn the place
to the ground,

which is what
you should be doing.

That's what we should be doing.

You and me.

I swear to God, Miles,

I don't know
what happened to you.

I genuinely don't understand.

Let's go, boys.

Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait.
What are you doing?

She murdered my boy.

Tom.

You think I won't shoot
through you, Miles?

Get on the train now!

Tom, she didn't kill Jason.

Patriots did it.

I said get on the train.

Or I'm gonna drop you right now.

Well, why am I not surprised?

We got bigger fish to fry.

I swear to God, you two.

Anything for your precious Miles.

- It's empty.
- So where's the gas?

What are Texas Rangers doing here?

That's my cue.

Our kids.

Friends...

This is a very special night,

a Memorial Day
I think we will long remember,

because we're not just honoring
those US troops

who paid the ultimate sacrifice,

we're paying tribute
to the brave Texas Rangers

who have also fallen.

And so, in this spirit

of the unity and friendship
of our two nations,

it is my honor to introduce

two very special
surprise guests...

The president
of the Texas Republic,

General Bill Carver,

and President Jack Davis
of the United States.

The cold doesn't bother you?

Should it?

You're gonna be very happy here.

- Get the hell out of here.
- What?

Go! Run!

No! Come back!

You just cost me
one of my subjects.

So tell me,
how am I gonna replace her?

How, Rachel?

- Is she OK?
- She's alive.

Priscilla, listen to me.

I know you're in there.

You have to fight this.
You have to wake up.

I did it once.
You can, too.

Whatever you're seeing,
you're dreaming.

It's not real.
It's the nano.

Please.

Priscilla, wake up.

Priscilla, is that you?

Did you really think that would work?

Now I'm really angry.

Miles: What do you mean everybody
is gonna be there?

The concert

Everyone's gonna be
at the concert at the courthouse.

So they're gonna have
everybody together in one place.

And a load of missing gas
that didn't just walk away.

They're gonna have their
Pearl Harbor, just not in Austin.

It's gonna be here. Come on.

What are you doing?
You're too late.

Stop! What are you gonna do?

You're gonna run straight
into 1,000 tons of mustard gas.

If we don't, it's over.

Patriots win it all.

You in?

Damn it.

Connor, let's go.

I said get on the wagon.

Sorry.
I think I'll pass on gas town.

I didn't sign up for suicide.

But you and Miles...
You two go have fun together.

I'll deal with you later.

Hyah!

You folks down here sure know
how to make a fella feel welcome.

Now, I have to apologize
for springing

this little surprise on you,

but I can assure you
this is not just showmanship,

although I'd be lying
if I said that wasn't part of it.

Unfortunately these days,

General Carver and I
have very real security concerns.

The aggressive and belligerent
country of California is out there.

And they have already attempted
several terrorist acts

against both of our nations,

aided and abetted
by Sebastian Monroe

and Miles Matheson.

That is why I am here today

to stand beside General Carver

and officially pledge
weapons and support

to the Texas Republic
against this California menace.

Davis: Now, these Californians...

they're on the wrong side of history.

They're trying to rip apart
the very thing that makes us strong.

Two minutes.

Oh, my God.

I wish you hadn't seen this.

You son of a bitch.

You're gonna kill everybody.

Not everybody.

I really meant
what I said tonight.

I do love you.

With all my heart.

Ed...

Davis: Because it signified
a bright future.

And that's a light
no one can put out.

Davis: United, we will not fail.

Davis: We say no!
And we say it with one voice.

So tonight,

let us all remember to say
God bless our heroes,

the Republic of Texas,

and God bless
the United States of America.
