Revolution (2012–2014): Season 2, Episode 16 - Exposition Boulevard - full transcript

Miles, Charlie and Connor discover Willoughby now has a reeducation center. Rachel and Miles clash over how to fight the Patriots. Neville and Jason gain an ally.

We're gonna need you
to fix that code, Mr. Pittman!

You're a machine, and you're dying,

and you're losing control
every second.

If the nano really are dying,
these must be its death throes.

Unh!

Rachel. She's not breathing,
Aaron, do something!

I'm fixing the code!

Do you hear me?
I am fixing you!

Thank you, Mr. Pittman,
for fixing us.

Now we can move on to other things.

- What are we gonna do now?
- I wanna go heme.

- What's all this?
- The kid saved my life.

A deb! is a debt.

Take the guys
and go get your Patriots.

- Let's go, boys.
- They don't take orders from you.

They take orders from her.

Okay. Come on, then.

Drop it.

Now you wanna tell me
what the hell's going on?

It's Julia. She's alive.

- The Patriots have her...
- Tom!

And they will kill her.

All I need is Monroe.

Can't do it, Tom.
Monroe's with us now.

- Just put the gun down, Tom.
- I need Monroe.

Or I need you as bait to catch him,
or Julia's dead.

Then she's dead.

Or...

how about I shoot your
sister-in-law's pretty face off?

I don't think you will.

You fire...

...and we fire...

We all bite it
and Julia's dead anyway.

Are you telling me
that you're really willing

to take your last breath
for a sack of crap like Monroe?

Son of a bitch.

- I want him alive!
- Call your men off!

Sir, Matheson's as good as gone.

Man: I lost half a dozen men last night,

and you've got the stones
to ask me for more?

No one asked for Team Baby Huey
to come barreling in.

Sir, so, yes...

...I need more men.

And I need to do it my way.

You're on your own.

You're a fine Chief of Staff.

And I know Willoughby's
a priority, must be.

But I also know that finding Monroe

is important to the president, too.

Ed. You're dismissed.

But this is my office.

Just do as you're told, Ed.
It's what you're good at.

You know, ahem,

when you and... your wife

did what you did to me,
I enthusiastically

requested your executions.

But the president had other ideas.

I consider it a personal affront
that you two are still breathing.

So when I find Monroe,
me, you know what I'll ask for?

You and your bitch wife's heads
as bookends.

I can't stop you from trying
to look for the man,

but I sure as hell
am not going to help you.

Are we clear?

Perfectly.

So, tell me something.

"Earth, Wind, and Fire" back here,
they're with you 24/7, right?

Yeah. So?

Well, I'm just wondering
how you find the time

to sneak off and bang my son.

- Jeez.
- No, I get it. I get it.

No, where there's a will,
there's a way, right?

Blackout with your cackout.

- Yeah, whatever that means.
- You know, it's interesting.

Of all the guys you choose to screw,

you choose a Monroe.

I'm gonna be sick.

Take it easy.

Hold your fire.

You look terrible.

So do you.

So much for coming in stealth.
Could hear you a mile away.

Yeah, well, we're not
exactly traveling light.

You know, we could
use twice as many guys.

We were lucky to get them.

All right.

I had money, you'd screw us over,
but I'll give you this one,

- you did all right.
- Yeah, well, one, suck it.

Two...

It wasn't me.
It was your niece.

Come on.

Our safe house isn't so safe anymore.

This way, guys.

Hey.

- You see that?
- See what?

Well, I hate to be the one
to tell you,

but they're sleeping together.

Charlie and Cannon?
No.

Why do you say that?

I know a little something
about having a wild daughter.

So Neville's with the Patriots.

They got his wife.

And he's shadier than you.
What'd you expect?

All right, let's go put him
out of his misery.

First things first.

First? What do you mean?

What's more important than
killing someone who wants me dead?

Come on, I'll show you.

No, Miles,
I've just been walking for four days.

- Can I sit on my ass for a minute?
- Nope.

Man: Get under that wire!
Get under that wire!

Crawl home to mama!

Let's go! Are you a Patriot, huh?
You don't look like a Patriot!

Man, it's like...

..full-on Full Metal Jacket
down there.

Seems like all I do lately
is lay up here,

rocks in my junk,
spying on these fools.

They're just kids.

Where'd they get
all the new recruits?

Some from Crockett, Huntsville.

Most of these kids, though,
they're from Willoughby.

Check out two o'clock.

It's a munitions dump.

Seen him offload 60 mil mortars,

155 mil shells.

Monroe: What the hell do they need
that kind of firepower for?

I don't know.
We could use it.

I was just gonna say the same thing.

Great minds, right?

Don't compare your brain to mine.

Monroe: No, I'm telling you,
you should've seen it.

Connor in Vegas.
Kid's got some moves.

He's gonna be better than me one day.

All right, hold up. I gotta...
I gotta hit the head.

So you're happy your kid's a killer?

Oh, hell, yeah.
Kinda proud, you know?

Guess it's like the family business.

Hey.
Facedown, now.

Get on the ground.

Down!

So you suck
at sneaking up on people, FYI.

How old are you, seven?

Get up. Up.

So what do you want to do with 'em?

Should we kill 'em?

When do you think
we'll reach Willoughby?

About a week or so.

Oh, my God.

Is this not the best apple
you've ever eaten?

Yup.

It's just like every other apple
I've ever eaten, ever.

- What?
- What's gotten into you?

What do you mean?

I mean, ever since Lubbock,
you've been...

Happy?

We've been through hell, Aaron.

But we survived.
I mean, we're here.

We're here together.

I don't know,
I've just been thinking,

maybe...

Maybe that's a good thing.

Now, don't forget the jib sail.

Mr. President.

Oh. Hey, Ron.

Look at you.

You're just growing like a weed,
aren't you?

What's the latest from Doyle?

Well, you can speak freely.
We have nothing to hide.

The Willoughby reeducation center
is up and running, sir.

- Does General Carver have any idea?
- General Carver's a grade-A...

He's a silly, silly man.

He's the commander of Texas.
Don't underestimate him.

Just make sure our cadets are
activated by the end of the month.

We're on schedule.
It's going well. Trust me.

Roger, our plan to take Texas
depends on those cadets.

And from there,
the rest of the continent.

Which means that backwater,
inbred boot camp

is one of the most
important ones we've got.

And Monroe and Matheson
are still at large...

...around the very same camp.

But I should just... trust you.

Is that what I should do?

Get those cadets in the field...

...or I'll have you and Doyle
and your families shot.

Understand?

Yes, Mr. President.

Look at that.

I like it.

What?

Move it. Let's go.

Come on.
Pick up the pace.

Pick it up.

Dillon?

Kim?

You know these kids?

Know 'em? I...
I delivered them.

- What's going on?
- They're from the boot camp.

Were spying on us.

Are you all right?

- Guys?
- They're fine, Gene.

I'm terrific too.
Now, move!

Tie 'em up.

Keep moving.

I've seen you around town, right?

We hit that munitions dump,
it's gonna cause a lot of damage.

It'll give us a window to get in,
mop up the rest.

So you're just gonna charge in,
guns blazing?

What about the kids in that camp?

We'll save as many as we can, Gene.

- But not all of them?
- Look, now, they're the town's kids.

Next week, they're Patriots.
We're killing them anyway.

Yeah, Gene, I don't like this
any more than you do.

But that boot camp...
Bad for us.

- If there was another way...
- Miles.

I know these children.
I've...

...practically raised them.

What is the point of saving this town

if we have to murder
its children to do it?

I'm not here to save anyone.

I thought we were here to win.
Aren't we?

We've got this.
Thanks.

Hungry?

Come on. You're skin and bones.
You know us. Please eat.

That's quite a shiner
you got there, Kim.

Where'd you get it?

How'd you end up in that camp?

You have to talk to us.

We enlisted.

You what?

All the kids did.

They gave a big speech,

said they needed our help.

We wanted to do it.

Are you gonna kill us?

So, what? I can't even interrogate
my own prisoners now?

Gene and Rachel can handle this.

Yeah?
Well, I get answers a lot quicker.

Why don't you give 'em a chance? Hmm?
They know these kids.

The Nazis were somebody's kid, Miles.

Everyone is someone's kid.

If we really want to win this thing,
it's gotta be with you and me

calling the shots,
not Yoko and her dad.

- We need them.
- We don't need them.

I didn't even want 'em.

I trust them...
a hell of a lot more than I trust you.

Hey!

Gene!

- What do you think you're doing?
- They don't know anything.

And they're children.

I'm taking them home.

The hell you are.
They'll give away our position.

Then we'll get another position.
We're not leaving them with you.

- I'm not letting you leave.
- Then go ahead and shoot us.

- Oh, you think I won't, old man?
- All right! Okay!

Everybody... put your junk away.

Chill out.
I'll handle this.

I said I'll handle it.

Ifs okay.
Come on.

So go handle it.

Looks like trouble in paradise.

You haven't tried to stop us.

I'm not Monroe.

I'm not gonna sweat a couple of kids.
You wanna toss 'em back? Go ahead.

We'll survive.

But you know he's right.

Patriots have their hooks
in Willoughby.

If we're gonna win this thing,
there's gonna be collateral damage.

Just being realistic.

I know all about collateral damage.

My son was collateral damage.

How do I let Monroe
kill someone else's kid?

More than that, help him do that?

How?

Grant!

It's Gene Porter.

Grant: Gene.

Kim?

Dillon?

What is going on?

I'm just bringing her home, Grant.

I'm taking Dillon home next.

Both of you, over here now.

Now!

What did you do?

- Pull 'em out of camp?
- That camp isn't safe, Grant.

You don't know these Patriots.

Says the man standing
next to a wanted terrorist.

Right. I'm a terrorist,
you simple son of a...

Miles.

- They're lying to you, Grant.
- Really?

Well, from what they tell me,
you're one of them too, Gene.

Saying it pretty much
runs in the family.

I should shoot you where you stand.

And you believe them?

This isn't like your tour
in the Gulf, Grant.

Sir, I know what recruits
are supposed to look like.

This ain't it.

You're full of crap.

Tell him, sweetheart

Kim?

Kim, don't.

What is it?

They... blindfold us...

...every night, and take us out
to a blockhouse on base, and...

...when we wake up in the morning...

...none of us can remember
what happened.

Where did you get that?

I...

I don't remember.

In camp.

You got some kind of...

Some kind of number tattooed here.

"5-0-2-0-7."

I don't know
what you're talking about.

Grant: Gene.

What the hell are they doing to...

- Grant!
- Jeez!

Easy- 6353/, easy, easy.
No! No! No!

Hi.

I'm just cold.
I didn't think you'd mind.

Do you?

No.

But...

I don't want to lose you, Aaron...

...ever again.

Me neither.

We don't have to.

You know, if you're not sure.

Oh, I'm sure.

Tom: Sir. A word, please.

Not the best time.

Oh.
I think you'll have time for this.

Doyle is sending men
out by the dozen looking for Monroe.

And?

And they don't know where he is.
I do.

Then why aren't you telling Doyle?

The same reason you're staying clear
of that chapped-ass chimp.

Give me a squad of your best men,

and let's you and me
get Monroe ourselves.

- Why would I do that?
- Because once we do...

...you can shove it
in Doyle's smug face...

...and prove that you're not
just some regional governor

who bends over for anyone
who just happens to roll in from DC.

It's a win for you...

...and a win for me.

This is insane.

What the hell are we doing giving
these sand rats our food and water?

Orders are to keep the prison
fully operational.

What orders?

We haven't heard
from the mainland in months.

Everything's dead.

Our flashlights are dead.

How do we know
there even is a US anymore?

These rations should be for us.

If anybody starves,
it should be them.

It sounds like
you're proposing treason, Corporal.

So how about I throw you in one
of them cells? Would you like that?

No, sir.

Who are they?

It must be half the US government.

Looks like Washington's come to us.

- He has the numbers, too.
- What numbers?

Don't...
Don't say it.

Say the magic number,
he starts freaking out,

goes all psycho-killer.

Maybe ifs some kind
of post-hypnotic suggestion.

You know me.
I wouldn't hurt anyone.

We need to talk, now.

He does not move.

He's a good kid.

A kind kid.

Please, you...
You can't kill him.

Gene, I tried to go
with you on this. I did.

Now another man's dead.

Sorry. Got no choice.

Gene: It's not his fault.

He doesn't even know
what's happened to him.

- They ripped his head apart!
- He's still a weapon!

Whether he knows it or not.

What do you think they're turning 'em
into Manchurian candidates for?

Miles, please.

Rachel, we gotta be smart about this.

I was smart
about setting off the nano tech.

I was smart about leaving my family,

going to the tower.

Smart cost me my son,

my...
My sanity.

I don't...

I don't want to be smart.

I'm tired of doing the smart thing.

For once... let's do the right thing.

It's war.

There's no right thing.

You're not Monroe.

You said that you weren't Monroe.
Don't be him.

Don't we have enough blood
on our hands?

Unh!

Move, move, move!

Charlie.

Friend of yours?

Right there! Right there!

You're going with me.
Dead or alive, I don't care.

Aah!

Hey, ifs okay!
It's okay. Let me help you.

Unh.

Sorry, Tom.

If it's a choice between
your wife's life and mine,

screw the bitch.

Fall back! Come on!
Go! Go! Go!

Run. Go.
Get out of here.

Miles! Miles, no! Stop.

Please.

Please.

You traitor!

Son of a bitch!

Get up. Come on, turncoat.
Get up!

Go, go, go, go!

And who gave you permission
to go out there, Ed?

This is my district.
I don't need permission.

Sir.

Well, apparently you do,

you feeble-minded child.

From now on,
you want to use the outhouse,

you get my permission first!

And you.

You cross me again,
and I will cut things off your wife

that won't grow back.

Do you understand me?!

Most of you know me.

My name is Jack Davis,
US Secretary of Defense.

You are here because you were vetted...

...and chosen.

An historian once said,
"A great civilization

is not conquered from without

until it has destroyed itself
from within."

I saw that quote
in a Mel Gibson movie.

That is what happened to us.

But it wasn't the blackout.

Long before that, our nation
was ruined by perverts and parasites.

I believe the blackout
was our punishment,

but I also believe
this is our chance to atone.

Make no mistake, gentlemen.
I am proposing a coup.

Air Force One went down,
we lost the president, the speaker,

most of the senior staff.

Once we handle the vice president,
I am the next in line.

While we sit here
and wait out the purge,

we are gonna lose 70 percent
of our population.

You may think that's a tragedy.

I see it as natural selection.

The tide will ebb.

The weak will die,
but the strong will survive...

...and will build a new America

committed to the ideals
we believe in.

Like it says on the dollar
right under the pyramid,

novus ordo seclorum.

"A new order for the ages."

Sir.

Even if we're able to convert
the other soldiers on the base,

- the mainland's a different story.
- Plans are in motion.

For one, my assistant secretary
Randall Flynn

is making preparations,
and this gentleman...

...is gonna help us
win hearts and minds. Victor.

Thank you, sir. I'm Victor Doyle.
I'm a consultant with the DOD.

I specialize in interrogation
and reeducation,

and I can promise you
that whether people join us

willingly or not
doesn't really matter,

as long as you know how
to apply pressure

in all the right places.

For those who've been
watching in frustration

as our once-proud nation withered
and died, this is your moment.

You will be the new Founding Fathers,

remembered and hailed forever.

- I didn't sign on to be a...
- A fawning little bitch,

who can't seem to stay
in his own office?

Watch your mouth.
This is all because of you.

Please. It's because of Doyle,
and you know it.

Someone should do something
about that man.

You know what I mean?

Miles.

You did the right thing.

I'm not so sure.

Not now.

I can't believe
you didn't take that shot.

What the hell is wrong with you, Miles?

You want to win this thing or not?

Why do you want to win?

What the hell does that...
What is that supposed to mean? I want...

I want revenge.

They destroyed Philly.

Yeah, you said that.

Then you said you didn't care.

Then you said all you wanted
was your son. Now you got him.

I don't know, Bass.
Can't keep your story straight.

What the hell is your problem, Miles?

You don't care about saving the town.

You don't care about anything
but saving yourself.

Maybe your kid.

All of this...

...is because you want to get
the Republic back. Isn't it?

God, you are...
You are so wrong.

And you are a really bad liar.

You want to wipe out the Patriot
competition so you can waltz in...

...set up some kind of

half-ass father-son kingdom.

Family business.

At least I got vision.

At least I know
what I'm fighting for, Miles.

YOU?

What the hell are you doing?

What do you think
is gonna happen here?

You gonna take out these Patriot sons
of bitches, then what will you do?

You gonna retire, huh?
You gonna...

You're gonna play house
with your two girls?

Is that what you want, huh?
Please.

God, that is not you, Miles.

That is not you, and you know it.

So what are you fighting for, huh?

Tell me.

What do you want, Miles?

Come in.

You wanted to see me, sin?

Yes, I did.

- What is this?
- All right, just relax.

"4-2-4-7-4."

This is Commanding Officer
Victor Doyle speaking.

Yes, sir.

Let's have a chat about your father.

I would love to know
what the man's thinking.
