Queen Sugar (2016–…): Season 6, Episode 8 - All Those Brothers and Sisters - full transcript

Previously, on

I'm ready to run
for United States Congress.

I don't currently
have the power necessary

to protect the people
I love the most.

This is
about my power.

My activism.

They terrorized me.

Some of the guys
were talking about us

'cause
Isaiah might be gay.

We all need our people,
and he's one of mine.

You did this shit.

You were caught red-handed,

The only thing that I want

It's in my blood,

I was born here.

Thought I'd die

[♪♪]

Charley says she want us
to meet her

Looks like the farmer

That's good news.

I know things are
uncertain right now.

[♪♪]

One thing

that I know for sure

is that,
wherever we are,

that's exactly where
we're supposed to be

and nobody,

not even the Landrys,

can change that.

Our baby girl's coming

we were kids, Charley,

but one thing
that's never changed

is my love for you.

[♪♪]

It's endless.

It's everlasting.

[♪♪]

It's everything I got
within me,

forever.

[♪♪]

[ Shudders ]

Charley Bordelon,

will you marry me?

Again?

[♪♪]

I...

I don't know, Davis.

Charley, you're
the love of my life.

I mean, no matter
the ups and downs,

we have a beautiful story
that's still being written.

And it's up to us
to write it.

W-We... we can move back
to Los Angeles

and... and... and do it
right, this time.

I can move to Louisiana,
and we can work it out.

Either way,
I'm... I'm fine,

a-as long
as I'm with you.

[♪♪]

The party has asked me
to run for Congress

on behalf of Louisiana.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity

to create real,
meaningful, change,

not just for St. Jo,
far beyond St. Jo.

I'll be spending
the next year

traveling
around the state

on a speaking tour,

colleges and...
And fundraisers,

getting ready to launch
my Senate campaign.

That's incredible.

Doing the
long-distance thing

at the start
of a secondmarriage?

That'll set us up
for failure.

Again.

Neither of us
wants that.

You're giving up
too easily, Charley.

I'm moving
to Louisiana and...

No! No!

No way!

You're following
your dream.

That job means
a lot to you.

Not more than you!

[ Sigh ]

We're on different paths
in our lives right now,

in... in different parts
of the country.

[♪♪]

I wish that
we could do it all.

We can.

I love you, Davis.

[♪♪]

[ Crying ]
I'll always love you.

[♪♪]

But...

I don't think
I can marry you.

Not now.

Not yet.

[♪♪]

This needs to work
for both of us.

[♪♪]

[ Sniffle ]

[♪♪]

Charley Bordelon...

[♪♪]

I'm a patient man.

[♪♪]

I'm not going anywhere.

[♪♪]

[♪♪]

Baby, I assure you,
I am fine.

I just need
to slow down.

I don't know if that's possible
for you, Aunt Vi.

You're always
doing something.

You know he's right.

And I wish you would just
take your own advice.

We all need you around.
[ Pats Vi's leg ]

I second that.

Oh, yeah?

Being around
sounds nice,

and, truth?

I plan to do my part
to keep it that way.

some good news.

Oh, Charley.

Oh, baby,
that is wonderful.

You go get
that power, girl.

Mm.

women in my time,

we didn't have a seat

You at the head
of the table.

Right.

[ Laughter ]

Thank you, Aunt Vi.

Your support means
a lot to me.

But I-I have to win, first.
[ Pats thighs ]

Well, go on out there
and win.

And, ifl win,

I'll have the power
to help prevent

what happened to our land
from happening again.

Well, I love it.

And I feel good
about it.

You know,
we need folks like you

to care for folks
who are forgotten.

Mm-hmm.
Charley Bordelon

is a fighter
for the people.

Mm.

So, how's Davis
with all this?

[♪♪]

He's supportive.

Uh-huh?

Yeah. Yeah.

We're good.

Okay.
