to Hokulani Observatory,

our heroes are now on their way
to the ferry terminal

that will take them back
to Melemele Island.

to the ferry terminal.

Yeah. There’s a path through the cave
leading to the seaport.

By the way, Sophocles,
are you going to be okay in the dark?

The walls are glowing bright.

[Sophocles] They're covered in luminescent
moss. It’s like daylight in here.

I’m pretty sure a section of this cave
connects directly to Mount Lanakila.

-That means it’s a really big cave.

It’s kind of like the Sandshrew Boss.

-They sure left quickly.

[all] Who’s that Pokémon?

[all] It’s Sandshrew!

-It’s cold and it keeps getting colder.
-It’s icy and slippery. Be careful.

[Mallow] Amazing. It looks like...

[Lillie] An ice castle.

-Oh!
-Look. There they are.

-[growls]

Oh, no. It’s a Tyranitar.

-[growls]
-Sandshrew!

[grunts]

[whimpers] Looks like they’re battling.

And Tyranitar's much bigger, too.

Over there, take a look.

-[both] Huh?
-[Mallow] What are they?

They’re marks the Sandshrew
made with their claws.

They’re not just on the pillars.

The walls and floor are covered
with the same scratches. I wonder.

Maybe that ice castle was carved out
by the Sandshrew as well.

But how? I don’t see how
the Sandshrew could do that.

I’m not quite sure, but maybe this spot is
some sort of special meeting place,

where lots and lots of Sandshrew
all come together.

[Mallow] So maybe that Tyranitar
simply wandered in here.

[Sophocles] And the Sandshrew
were training hard

to take this place back for themselves.

-You can do it!
-Steenee!

Tyran! [roars]

-[Lillie yelps]
-[Sophocles] That’s Sandstorm!

Sand...

-Vulpix!
-[gasps] Snowy!

[growls]

[Sandshrews groan]

Snowy. Huh? [screams]

-[Lillie screams]

[Lana] Now the road splits into four.

This time my accurate analysis
will come in handy for sure.

There’s a 25% chance
we’ll meet everyone.

Who would’ve thought that you’d team up
with a wild Pokémon

and then end up in a Double Battle?
It was electrifying!

I think this cave might have been

It means that Sandshrew
and Vulpix are able to evolve

-with the aid of one of these Ice Stones.
-Of course.

That means this ice castle
is where Sandshrew evolve.

That’s why they’ve worked so hard
to protect it.

-A Sandslash. It evolved.

[Mallow] It’s bigger than the others,
so it’s probably a Totem Pokémon.

That’s great. And from now on,
you’ll be protecting this place.

[all] Huh?

This stone is from where we ended up.
We wandered right into an Ice Stone mine.

So if that’s an Ice Stone,

Of course it’s possible,

her first Double Battle and won.

Perhaps battling is another way for her
to get closer to Pokémon.
