The potter street station
in saginaw, michigan,

built in 1881,

was one of the largest
train depots in the u.S.

Carrying countless passengers

to and from their destinations
for nearly 70 years.

Unfortunately,

not all of its passengers
were living.

The station became a hub
for dead soldiers

returning from both world wars.

The body count became
so overwhelming

a casket shop
was opened on the premises.

But due to this long
and sad history,

rumors of ghost sightings

have circulated throughout
the town ever since...

...Leading one intrepid
paranormal investigator

to explore the station himself
in hopes of capturing proof,

which he seemed to get
in droves.

In 2011, in saginaw, michigan,

steve shippy and a camera man

went into potter street station

with a lot of camera equipment
and just one goal...

Capture proof
that it was haunted.

What we were trying to do
is solidify the claims

of the people
that currently own the property,

the police officers
that work that beat,

seeing those shadowy figures,
apparitions in the window.

Could this in fact be true?

And we just wanted
to document that.

Narrator:
To increase their chances
of seeing something,

they set up 12 stationary
night-vision cameras

throughout
the 11,000 square feet

of the train station.

They then set off
through each room

to see what they could find.

♪♪

Would anybody like

I really would like

Narrator: Within minutes,
things seemed...

Shippy: Whoa.

...Off.

I swear, I thought that shirt
just moved right there.

♪♪

Is that you over there
in the corner?

Shippy: As soon as we entered
the old train station,

the vibe was very heavy.

It was very eerie.

♪♪

It's a bunch of
old funeral invitations.

One thing that was so unique
about this property

is it seemed that people
just basically up and went.

I mean, there were still things
on the desk

and calendars on the wall.

It was like
a virtual time capsule.

This is probably
the creepiest place

I've ever investigated
in my life,

not to mention
the most dangerous.

Is that you that moved
the lights?

I was admiring
the old fireplace.

When I look over
in that direction,

you can see a chandelier
swing on its own.

Nothing ambient
could explain that.

Narrator: What happened next
was even more terrifying.

Something just tapped me
right on the shoulder, dude.

I just feel something touch
the back of my shoulder,

and literally I jumped

because I knew
it wasn't my camera guy,

but I was trying to justify,

and of course,
upon playing it back,

it wasn't possible.

Did you just touch my shoulder?

Are you sure? Are you positive?

Sturges: He startled.
He spins right around.

That's the way I reacted
when I was touched,

so it kind of hit home, like,
that's how you react.

Shippy: A lot of things
go through your mind

because you don't know,
are these spirits angry?

Are they just simply trying
to get your attention?

Until you experience
it yourself,

you really don't know
what you're messing with.

Narrator: Though shaken up,
steve pressed on

and suddenly realized
they were in the casket shop.

Man, these things
are just laying everywhere.

Back in the day,
they had the casket maker

right here in the train station

because of all the bodies

that would come back
from the war.

Shippy: There was a very sad,
heavy feeling in there.

A lot of these young men

were leaving
from that train station

to go off to battle,

and then sadly some of them
came back deceased.

Narrator: Steve's senses
were on high alert,

and for good reason.

Keep your eyes on the doorway.

It's more of those pads
right there,

for the caskets.

It's kind of ominous.

Narrator: Did you catch that?

Look again in slow motion.

I'm positive something
just moved right there.

Shippy:
Out of the corner of my eye,

I saw something...
Kind of a luminous,

sort of transparent...

Just dart by this opening

that was kind of cracked
into the wall.

Mcneill: It seems clear and
wonderfully outlined,

but totally blank on the inside.

That one, I got the chills.

That was creepy.

Moran: It seems to be about
the right size to be a person,

and apparitions have been
witnessed here before,

so that's in line with what's
to be expected in this location.

Shippy:
It definitely startled me.

I was pretty scared.

My hair stood up.

You don't know what
this thing is

or what it wants,

and is it going to run at you?

Cano: There are hotspots.

There are places
where it seems more likely

that you will have
a spirit interaction.

And this place, because people
are coming and going,

and soldiers who had been
killed in the war,

their bodies came through here.

There's a lot of energy
left behind.

Slaughter:
This could also be haunted

with the energies of people

who passed away
at this train station,

or just the residual energy of
people who went there every day.

More spooked than they were
comfortable with,

steve and his camera man
decided it was time to leave.

They retrieved
the 12 stationary cameras

and went home to pore
over the footage.

That's when the full extent
of the station's haunting

truly sank in.

of illustrations

of paranormal activity

that we see time and time again.

It doesn't take a lot of force
to open and close a door,

and that seems to be
about the level of energy

they can really exert
on our physical objects.

Narrator:
The evidence was overwhelming.

And what they caught
in the employee locker room

was of particular interest
to steve.

Keep your eyes on the lockers
to the right.

At one point, you can actually
see two individual orbs

kind of swoop into the room,

go to the locker,
open the locker.

Hayes: You're seeing lockers
and cabinets

opening up on their own.

Whatever's there seems
to be quite active.

A lot of times
orbs can be misconstrued

as dust or other things,

but clearly these orbs
showed intelligence,

and there was actual movement in
conjunction with their pattern.

It was absolutely
a paranormal event.

Cano: Maybe it's just
residual energy

of someone
who worked on the railroads,

starting their shift
or ending their shift

and going home.

They're still going about
their daily business.

Shippy:
When we saw this activity
we were thrilled.

It's very hard to capture
evidence of that nature,

and the fact that we were able
to capture two spirit orbs

moving two different lockers
was phenomenal.

Seems like whatever
is going on there,

it's not just one entity,
but a series of entities

that have decided to make that
their home forever and ever.

the rumors and reports
were true.

Potter street station
was haunted.

Shippy: We wanted to get
in there for years.

We heard all the stories,
heard all the reports,

but we never ever believed

that we were going
to capture that much activity

in the quality of the evidence
that we documented.

It was mind blowing.

Rintamaki: This thing is crazy.

...A ufo hovers dangerously
close to a freighter.

I can't tell you what it was.

I just don't know.

Rintamaki: Holy crap.

Narrator: Imagine for a moment
that you are leading a group

on a night-time
rock-hunting mission

along the shores
of lake superior.

The rock you are looking for
is called a yooperlite,

a rare glow-in-the-dark gem
found in this area.

And let's say that as the hunt
is coming to an end,

someone in your group
tugs on your arm

and brings your attention
to some other gems

that also appear
to glow in the dark.

But these gems aren't on
the ground, they're in the sky.

Rintamaki: Holy crap.

Narrator: That's what happened
to erik rintamaki,

and he has the video
to prove it.

Rintamaki:
This is the craziest thing
I've ever seen in my life.

Narrator:
On the night of June 11, 2019,

erik rintamaki was leading
a rock-hunting group

consisting of
three other people,

hunting for yooperlites,

when something far more
interesting appeared in the sky.

Rintamaki:
This is above whitefish point.

It's about 1:00 in the morning,

and this is hovering

probably a hundred feet
above whitefish point.

Then the second one is probably
a hundred feet above it.

Oh, then the bottom one
just went out.

I was doing
a night-picking excursion,

and that's when I caught
these phenomena on video.

We're coming off the beach,

and the lady tugs on my arm
and she's says,

"erik, what are
those lights behind us?"

there's three lights up
in the sky

and they're all bright orange
and they do this, they go...

And trade position,
and then trade position back.

They went from three lights
up in the sky,

to two lights, to one light,

and then the bottom light
would go up

to where the top one was,

and then another one...
Reappear.

Rintamaki:
Look it, now there's two.

Now there's two again.

This is the craziest thing
I've ever seen.

I've been hunting the beach
since I was a baby,

and I've never seen
anything like this ever.

This thing is crazy.

Hayes:
The ufo over lake superior
is a glowing orange ball,

for lack of a better term.

It's hovering,
it's moving quickly,

it's doing all kinds
of aerial acrobatics.

Whatever this thing is,
it's intelligently controlled.

He really does seem to be in awe
of what he's witnessing,

and the fact
that this is the first time

that he's seen
anything like this

sort of gives credence
to the idea

that this isn't just
a traditional aircraft,

or sort of a lantern
or whatever,

because you would think
that he would have seen

something like that in the past.

Rintamaki: It's still there.
I'm videotaping it.

Rintamaki:
I will say what it isn't.

It's not lanterns, drones...

Nothing natural phenomena
that I've ever seen.

It was raining and windy.

If it was raining and windy,

a flare wouldn't last very long

and drones
wouldn't last very long.

Rintamaki: To me,
it looks triangle shaped.

This thing is crazy.

[ rumbling in distance ]

♪♪

Narrator: A short while later,

things get even more interesting

when an enormous freighter
suddenly appears on the horizon.

♪♪

Now, what's it going to do
when that ship gets close?

That ship's getting
pretty darn close.

♪♪

Narrator:
And it looks like it's passing
right underneath the lights.

What are these guys
on the ship thinking?

Rintamaki:
I filmed the freighter coming
across through the plane,

and the light
just hovered right here,

so we can see it coming
like this,

and we can see it go
right underneath the light.

That's got to be so bright
on that ship.

Woman: They've got to see that.

Yeah, somebody's got to be able
to see that on that ship.

It's sort of a juxtaposition
of the known and the unknown.

A ship on the water,

this thing that's
happening above them.

That is the craziest thing ever.

When objects that we are
familiar with in our environment

come in close proximity
to something unexplained

and unidentified,

it makes that unexplained,
unidentified thing

seem way more real.

How strange is that?

Narrator: Erik later contacted
the shipping company,

but their response
only added to the mystery.

They said they have nothing
to report.

That was the only thing
they wrote in their e-mail.

Narrator: Erik was stumped,

but this sighting
might not have been as unusual

as he originally thought.

It's not uncommon to see

these type of ufos
over the great lakes.

I mean, there's been
many sightings

of aerial phenomenon like this,

and nobody
can really explain it.

I actually recently received
a report from a gentleman

that saw a ufo enter the water
of lake superior.

And there's
a lot of theories out there

that suggest there may be
some sort of underground,

or underwater portal,

or perhaps base
beneath lake superior.

There's definitely
all kinds of activity

that takes place there
that could support this.

It's just hovering right there.
It's not moving.

Cano: In the ufo community,
we're used to hearing

about unidentified
flying objects.

There's also things known as

"unidentified
submerged objects," uso's.

And more often than not,
you hear about that

in association
with the bermuda triangle

and the deep ocean.

But the great lakes are often
ripe for this type of activity,

and these types of reports

that ufos are seen coming
into and out of the water.

Now, is this light one of those?

Is that ship where it's supposed
to descend into its base

and it has to wait
until it's clear?

Rintamaki: I'm not going to say
it was aliens,

but I don't have an explanation,
you know?

It was something that was
intelligently controlled.

It wasn't a natural phenomenon.

Narrator: The three other people
in erik's group

eventually started to freak out

and asked to be taken home.

Rintamaki: The one lady
starts screaming at me,

she's like, "we got to go.
We got to go, we got to go."

so I took them back to town,
which is about seven miles away.

I went back and watched them for
another half an hour by myself.

Narrator: The lights then
finally disappeared.

Rintamaki: The pulse is like...

It gets brighter
and then dimmer,

and now it's getting dim.

Dimmer and dimmer.

The light didn't go up,
it didn't go down.

It didn't fade away.

It just went out.

Just, all of a sudden, gone.
And that was it.

Narrator:
Erik doesn't know exactly
what it was he saw that night,

but he does know
it was something very special.

I believe what I see,

and I saw this,
so I believe this.

But I can't tell you
what it was.

I just don't know.

It was the craziest
two hours of my life,

I'll tell you that right now.

This is the craziest thing
I've ever seen.

walking through
abandoned locations,

haunted houses,
and creepy cemeteries,

hoping to catch a glimpse of
or connect with

But at the end
of every investigation,

when they return to the safety
of their own homes,

every precaution is taken
to leave the ghosts, specters,

and other
ghouly entities behind.

Unfortunately, for one
ghost hunter in the u.K.,

closing his front door
was not quite enough

to keep some kind of presence
from slipping inside his home

and wreaking total havoc.

[ cat yowls ]

Lee hart, the owner of
a paranormal tour company

outside manchester, England,

became suspicious
that something supernatural

might have followed him
home from work

after waking up multiple times

to parts of his home
in disarray.

He decided to set up six cameras
around the house he shares

with his wife and two kids.

When he reviewed the footage,
his worst fears were confirmed.

It appeared something,
or someone was in the house,

and it was up to no good.

The living room seemed
particularly active.

The kitchen also showed
signs of activity.

♪♪

but nothing was quite
as unsettling

as when lee realized
whatever was in their house

entered his inner sanctum...

The bedroom.

When I saw the footage back

about the spirit
turning the computer on,

it gets to you,

knowing that
it's in your bedroom

and it's close
to where you sleep.

We first started filming

to prove that
what we was experience

was genuine paranormal activity.

At the beginning,
we were pretty excited about it.

[ thump ]

as time has gone on,
I've become more afraid of it.

My main concern is my family.

I've got two young children
in the house, and a wife,

so their safety
is my main priority.

Cano: The one thing that
you do notice in these videos,

is that there seems
to be an escalation.

Things are getting
knocked off of shelves,

things are happening.

And after it seems like all
the things that they're doing

hasn't quite gotten
the desired result,

a monitor goes on.

It's almost like, "all right,
he's not responded to this.

Let's take it to the next step."

they are trying to work
with the physical space,

as well as electronics.

Scuerman:
It's not surprising that
the computer screen turned on,

because ghosts are known to be
conductive with electricity.

Moran:
This ghost really doesn't seem
to understand boundaries.

If you're sleeping

and it's maybe moving
some cutlery around the kitchen,

that's one thing.

But when you're sleeping
in your bed

and the ghost is working
on your computer,

is moving his chair
around at the desk

right next to the foot
of the bed,

that's, I think,
a little too close for comfort.

Kissel: Bedrooms are thought
to be safe spaces,

very intimate spaces.

So the fact that
there is paranormal activity

happening within the bedroom
as they sleep,

ohh, that would definitely
keep me up at night.

[ dog whimpers ]

narrator: And it's not just lee

who's being kept up at night.

Hart: We've got two dogs
and two cats.

And I believe they are
sensitive to it.

[ cat yowls ]

kissel:
Animals do have a sixth sense

when it comes
to poltergeist activity.

As you see, this cat kind of
jumps up on the counter,

and it seems to be staring
at the entity

as the entity moves the jar
off of the counter.

Cats are some of our
most trustworthy

paranormal barometers.

Yes, the cat jumps back when,
whatever it is, falls.

But the cat
knew something was up

long before that thing fell.

Cano:
Many animals can hear different
frequencies than man can

and can even see different
portions of the light spectrum.

So it's commonly believed
that dogs and cats

and other animals
can see spirits.

If not, they're definitely
picking up

on something that we can't.

But why does lee believe

he's somehow brought
this entity home?

We first started
to notice activity

after my daughter
brought a haunted doll home

from one of our events.

Our house really has no history
in terms of age.

It's 40, 50 years old,

so there's no known history
with the house,

no deaths,
nothing that we know of.

Mcneill:
Why would this be happening?

Is a spirit randomly
passing through?

Or is there an effort

to get the attention
of the living people?

Is this a cognizant,
conscious entity

that needs
to accomplish something

and needs living people
to accomplish it for them?

Or is this a mindless,
irrational imprint of energy

that's simply left behind
causing trouble?

I firmly believe that what's
haunting us is a poltergeist.

It's typical activity
of throwing things,

moving things, being a pain.

Narrator:
Lee tried burning the doll

to see if that would put an end
to the activity.

Unfortunately, nothing changed.

On the bright side,

lee doesn't believe
the energy is malicious

and feels his family
is safe to stay put.

This our home, so we're in it
for the long haul, I believe.

As of yet, it's not hurt anyone.

It's more about fear.

This poltergeist doesn't seem

extremely dangerous
or malevolent,

just seems to be
playing around, really.

Nothing too extreme,
pretty basic haunting stuff.

It doesn't seem aggressive.

And when the entity is around,

if they don't feel
the presence of evil,

it's probably a friendly ghost.

it's easy to complain
about the often shaky,

with a creature
you've never seen before

in an environment
that is not familiar.

Your fear goes into overdrive...

the last thing on your mind,

which makes it
all the more impressive

that one father,

while out on a walk
with his family,

was able to steady
his nerves enough

to get this relatively stable,
high-def footage of bigfoot.

Man: Whoa.

Deep in the winter wilderness
of calgary, alberta, canada...

♪♪

A family is spending
the day outdoors,

enjoying the scenery,

when they suddenly catch sight
of something ahead

moving in the trees.

Man what's that? What's that?

The father quickly
pulls out his phone

and begins to record.

Look.

It doesn't take long for them
to realize

that this is not
your average wildlife sighting.

Whoa.

Girl: That is not a human.

Hayes: What we see here is
a hairy, reddish-brown creature.

It's difficult to determine
the exact size,

but it certainly looks
to be rather large.

Moran: As it turns,
you can clearly see

the back of its head
and its shoulders

do not appear bear-like at all,

more ape-like...

A large round head,
broad shoulders,

completely covered
in brown hair.

It doesn't look like a bear.

It looks far more human,
ape-like.

Narrator: Large, reddish-brown
hair or fur,

more ape-like than bear-like.

Sound familiar?

Cano: This is not old video,

this is not film
or getting resolution.

You see what appears
to be a sasquatch, bigfoot.

Narrator: And its movement
and size seem to confirm this.

Man: Whoa.

Big foot tends to be
between 6- and 9-feet tall.

They walk upright
with an elongated gait,

and they kind of
swing their arms

in a very aggressive manner.

Mcneill: That's been
one of the classic identifiers

of bigfoot
caught on film always,

is the way that
this creature moves.

And I'm just going to say,
I'm sold.

I think it could be bigfoot.

They seem to have
an authentic reaction

to what they're seeing
in real time,

and that's why I really like
this footage of bigfoot.

Narrator:
This probable bigfoot quickly
disappears into the woods,

just as one
might expect it to do.

Moran: It does exactly
what a bigfoot does,

goes away.

Almost all the footage
that we have

is them fleeing contact
with humans.

What's that? Look.

He seems to be aware
that he's got watchers.

He doesn't seem
to be afraid of them,

but he seems to be like,
"all right, I'm done.

Time to go."

he stands up and lumbers off.

The movement seems so fluid,
as if, yes, this were a creature

that is used to moving through
dense underbrush and trees.

And that's just one more reason

to believe that this is exactly
what we think it is.

If you want to find bigfoot,
there's whole lot of woods

up in this area of canada
to do it in.

Hayes: Calgary is certainly
bigfoot country.

There's a national park
near there called nordegg,

which is a huge bigfoot hotspot.

Cano: This seems to be
one of the territories

that sasquatch or bigfoot
is often seen in,

because of the large
tracts of land

still ruled by nature.

And it gives them
the freedom to exist and hide

and be unfettered by men.

Man: Look.

Narrator: Thanks to
the steady hands of this dad,

not to mention
the technological advances

of modern-day phone cameras,

this is just one more
solid piece of evidence

that bigfoot is alive and well
in canada.

Cano:
The more advanced cameras are,

the more detail we're getting
about colors

and definition and contrast.

I'm sure we'll see a lot more
videos like this in the future.

has a very dark history.

During the mid-20th century,

misbehaved boys
were sent to the facility

under the care of a mostly
untrained and unqualified staff.

Reports of abuse and horrific
conditions went ignored,

until the 1990s

when multiple former students
sued the reformatory

and it was subsequently
shut down.

For over 20 years,
it has mostly sat empty.

Until two ghost hunters
entered the building

and found that
some of that dark history

may have stuck around.

Leblanc:
I know you might not want
to think about it.

Did you do some bad stuff?

On December 21st, 2018,

paranormal team cindy leblanc

arrived at the nova scotia
school for boys.

What's in there?

Both had heard
the horror stories

of what supposedly
happened there...

And these would be cells.

...And were curious to see
if any of that negative energy

resulted in a haunting.

Yeah, we were just doing
a walkthrough of the building

and there was one room

in the very center
of the building

that was pitch black.

It didn't have access
to any light.

And I knew that
the night vision ir camera

would be able to pick up
anything in that room.

Despite a thorough walkthrough,

cindy and jeremy didn't notice
any unusual phenomena.

We're going out the door.

Is there anything

equipment and headed home.

Well, I guess we leave
without talking to anybody.

But the investigation
was far from over.

When they reviewed
the footage they shot

in the school staff room,

they caught something on camera

that sent chills
down their spines.

It felt like a punch
to the stomach.

I couldn't believe I walked
that close to that thing.

Oh, my god.

I had to review it over
and over and over again

and try to make sense of it.

When I realized
it couldn't be one of us,

it was very shocking.

It looks like a moping,
depressed, ashamed energy.

Mcneill: Shadow people
are often understood

to sort of be
a coalescence of energy,

and especially negative energy,

which in this
particular context,

I think,
would make a lot of sense.

since it appeared
in the staff room,

could it have been
one of the school's

former and now deceased
employees?

In a place like this,
a boy's reformatory,

where some shady things
happened,

there's probably
a lot of regret.

There's guilt.

It's entirely possible that
this spirit is staying there

because he doesn't
want to move on.

they returned to the school...

he felt very guilty,

so I think that guilt was what
was tying him to the location.

Someone is going to be trapped
to repeat activities or exist

in this limbo for time
and all eternity,

it should be someone
who deserves it.

You're going to meet your maker.

You're going to see how it felt

to be on the receiving end
of whatever you dished out.

Narrator: After communicating
with the spirit for 10 minutes,

cindy began to have
an uncomfortable feeling

and ended the conversation.

Leblanc:
I could just feel anxiety,
just a high anxiety feeling

and a feeling like
I didn't feel safe.

I knew it wasn't my own feeling

because the building was secure
when we got there

and I knew there was
no one else in the building.

But there was just
this residual anxiety

like the boys
must not have felt safe.

Cindy believes she was talking

to one of the former employees
that day.

And in spite of
any negative things

this person
may have done while alive,

she hopes that she was able
to help the spirit pass on.

But she has no plans
to visit the site again.

wandering around
a haunted cemetery,

one typically pictures it
happening in the dead of night,

with not another
living soul in sight.

But every once in a while,
a spirit is so restless,

so full of energy

that it decides
to make a special appearance

in broad daylight,

as it did for one young man
in savannah, georgia.

Greathouse: Ah-ha-ha, hold on.

On new year's eve 2008,

while on christmas vacation
from school,

jesse greathouse was visiting
family in savannah, georgia.

Hailing from akron, ohio,

jesse was excited to see
all of the historical sites

savannah had to offer,

starting with
the colonial park cemetery.

It's the oldest cemetery
in savannah

and allegedly
one of the most haunted.

Jesse, a skeptical
17-year-old at the time,

was filming the cemetery
with his video camera

when he suddenly caught this.

Could it be a ghost?

Greathouse:
This kid seemed very bright.

He was very fluorescent.

He caught my eye
and I zoomed in on him,

and he kept running.

I just couldn't
take my eyes off him.

My heart was kind of pounding.

It's like you're
in a suspense of all.

You're just focused
on the moment.

I'm just watching
through this camera,

and I'm like, "what is this?"

I thought he disappeared,

then I'm like,
"what in the world happened?"

And that's when we saw

it looks like the kid
jumped up in the tree.

♪♪

You could see his aura,
how he goes around the tree,

comes back over...

...Jumps off
into this white mass...

♪♪

...And then disappears.

Ah-ha-ha. Hold on.

And what's really weird
about all of it

is that these people
are just walking by,

and they don't notice anything.

Moran: This is a great video.

It's really clear.

We see this boy,
we can tell it's a small child,

but it seems to be
completely featureless.

Everything seems to be

a kind of a translucent,
whitish.

There doesn't seem to be
any difference in color

between clothing, hair, skin.

So, it looks like

your archetypical kind
of ghost image.

Cano: It looks like
he's jumping into the tree

and then falls down.

But when he does, it seems
as if his shape changes.

He's no longer
the form of the boy.

It's almost like he's morphing
into something else.

Any video that we come across,

we have to hold
to the same standards.

When talking about
something like legitimacy,

does this pass the test?

All we can say is that
in this video,

something was captured.

So, it's my assumption
that this video is 100% real

and uncut and not edited

I think as a kid, I didn't
really understand what I had.

To this day,
every time I watch it,

it kind of makes my heart drop
just a little bit, you know?

I can't imagine being 17
and filming something like this.

I know I was 17 looking
for something like this,

but to actually see it,
record it,

and be able to show
other people,

that must be
a pretty magical feeling.
