Paranormal Caught on Camera (2019–…): Season 2, Episode 1 - Modern-Day Cyclops and More - full transcript
Next on "paranormal
caught on camera"...
- Oh
- right there behind the tree!
A team
of graveyard investigators
confronts the undead.
- What the...?
- What the hell was that?
I was scared.
Like, the hairs on my arms
were standing up.
An unassuming pilot
has a close encounter
with unidentified aircrafts.
To me, they look like
real flying saucers.
I have no other explanation
for it.
A man in the u.K.
Grapples with the reality
of his own personal
haunted house.
If there's anything
in this... whoa.
Sometimes things get worse.
Things get more scary,
more malevolent
because you've opened that door.
You've said, "I'm willing
and ready to make contact."
A ufo glow in the night sky
alarms a family in hong kong.
Look!
It definitely seemed
to be paranormal.
Ghosts run rampant at
a museum of haunted artifacts.
Always with the dolls.
It's like, "why do people
keep playing with dolls?"
And even more paranormal footage
you have to see...
To believe.
Most cemeteries
quietly serve out
their intended purpose...
As unremarkable final
resting places for the departed,
but at a select few, something
along the way went wrong,
and as a result,
the spirits of the dead
are anything but restful.
That's what drew clayton golda
and heather smith
to a supposedly haunted cemetery
one night in 2019,
where their
paranormal suspicions
were unambiguously confirmed.
- Oh! Oh
- right here, behind the tree!
Yeah. What is that?
Place is a little spooky.
It's out here
in the middle of nowhere.
Golda and smith,
natives of hernando county,
florida,
were invited with
a few colleagues
to investigate
an infamous cemetery
that once served
a now-deserted town
near the florida-georgia border,
a 5-hour drive away.
Wow, it's really spooky.
My name is clayton golda,
and I'm the one
who shot the video.
I keep hearing something.
I don't know if it's down
over there.
My name is heather smith,
and I was filming with clay
in this cemetery,
and we were told that
that cemetery is
a few hundred years old,
and people have spotted shadows.
They're not sure
if it was actually people.
They're not sure
if it was spirits,
so we were asked to do
an investigation there.
Really old-looking ones
right here.
And not long
into the investigation,
they got what they came to see.
Oh! Something just moved
over there.
Is that the tree? Oh!
Oh
- right there behind the tree!
- Yeah.
- What is that?
Watch again
in slow motion as a spirit
seems to manifest
behind a nearby bush
before noticing the team
and quickly turning back.
When on an investigation,
your hope is to see something.
You are really praying, "okay,
we've got the team together.
We've got our equipment out.
Hopefully something
presents itself,"
and in this case, something...
There's a form behind the bush
that they capture,
they manage to get on video.
We heard some noises,
and we're shining
our flashlights down there
and lo and behold,
we saw something.
Is that the tree? Oh!
Oh
- right there behind the tree!
- Yeah.
- What is that?
At first, I thought
the tree was moving,
but it wasn't that breezy out,
so I'm like,
"what is that, the tree?"
and then I saw it.
It was, like, a figure there,
and I didn't know what it was,
if it was something
that isn't human,
so I didn't want
to run after it,
so I tried to just go slow,
walk up to it,
but it, like, turned and left.
Whatever it is
that these investigators
seem to have uncovered
is very strange-looking.
This could very well be
a shadow entity.
It appears to be a robed figure,
and it sort of moves away
very quickly
with this sweeping motion,
but it doesn't look
like a person per se
because there's something wrong
with the light
about it, you know?
You can't really tell
that the...
If the robe has a color.
It's sort of this neutral,
almost
translucent-looking thing.
I literally, like,
could see through it.
It was kind of, like,
transparent.
I was scared.
Like, the hairs on my arms
were standing up.
I knew what we just saw,
and the thing is,
is we didn't see
anything walk off.
We didn't hear any noises.
We didn't hear footsteps.
Like, we searched
the whole area,
so that's what led us
to believe that it was a spirit.
And not just any spirit.
Back in the day,
they would get
a lot of grave robbers,
so the town came together
and decided they'd
take turns in shifts,
and they would watch
over the cemetery,
but then it kept happened.
They kept getting robbed
while no one was there,
and they ended up finding out
it was one of the people
from the town
that robbed the cemetery,
and then this guy
mysteriously went missing.
Now, this was
He just... He vanished.
No one knows
what happened to him.
A lot of people say the
townspeople took care of him,
I guess you would say,
"took care of the problem."
that's when the shadow figures
started popping up
was when he disappeared,
and the people in that town,
they were thinking
that he came back,
and his spirit form
still haunts that place.
What the hell was that?
It was right over here.
I thought it was a tree
at first,
but it freaking moved.
There have been claims of people
seeing shadow people forever,
for as long as people
have been seeing apparitions
or what people
traditionally call ghosts.
That was crazy.
I don't think
they're really ghosts
because I don't
really think ghosts
have any kind of a memory
or whatever,
but shadow people seem to have
some kind of intelligence.
They can follow you around
and play weird tricks on you.
Perhaps that's why
golda and smith's
colleague stacy
had the encounter that she
did only a few minutes later.
God! Something just touched me.
- Oh.
- Are you serious?
I'm serious.
Oh, my god, and this meter
just started going off,
too, when you said that.
- Where did it touch you at?
- I'm not sure.
This is crazy.
This is real crazy.
Like, just something...
Just, like, it's, like,
fingerprints trying to grab you.
- Oh, my god.
- Oh, my god.
There's actually been
many encounters
where we felt like
something touched us,
or we felt like something was,
like, up against us
where we could feel,
like, somebody's
presence right there.
The whole point of trying
to communicate with the dead
is to get a response,
and sometimes people
don't realize
that entities have different
ways of communicating.
They don't have
vocal cords anymore.
It's hard for them
to make sounds,
so being touched
and pushed are definitely ways
that an energy would try
to communicate with somebody.
It kind of pulled me,
like it was trying
to grab my shoulder.
I've been touched
by nothing in front of me.
I don't know if I was
necessarily poked,
or I would have seen
my jacket indent like this,
but I definitely felt it,
and I believe that
that was the spirit's only way.
They don't have a body.
They don't have the tools.
The only way that they can
communicate or interact with you
in that physical kind of way
is through some kind of pk,
psychokinesis, kind of mind
over matter type of thing.
But that wasn't
the squad's final
unearthly encounter
for the evening.
While heather was recording
some final thoughts in her car,
the spirits outside
wanted to give
the group a proper send-off.
...As we were trying to leave,
so I had to get
to the car and...
- what the...?
- What the hell?
- What the hell was that?
- I don't know.
Something suddenly
struck the car,
sending the team back out
into the graveyard
to search for the source.
It felt like it shook the car.
That whole car rocked
really hard.
I immediately, at this point,
was interested
in pursuing softly.
At this point, I wanted to know
what this was,
so I jumped out
of my door immediately.
Get it!
The other gentleman, jt,
he jumped out right away,
and we caught something
running back into there,
or it looked like
it was running,
so we took off running after it.
It was the same brown figure.
- What?
- I didn't see any feet.
Clay searched the whole area.
We all looked around to see,
like, if there was, you know,
footsteps around the car
that didn't look like ours,
and we didn't find anything,
so for it to kind of make
that loud of a noise
on the outside of the car,
that definitely led us
to believe
it was something paranormal
that did that.
The banging
that they heard on the car
is a little bit aggressive,
so I definitely believe it was
possible that it was a spirit
who was just trying
to get them out of there.
The entity was trying to
scare people from behind a bush.
The lady was touched as well as
the car was actually attacked,
so to me, it seems like whatever
it is inhabiting these woods
and that cemetery, they want
these people out of there.
- Was that a person?
- What the happened here?
What the hell?
Whatever it was, I didn't feel
it was giving us
a nice little
"see you later" push.
I think it was,
"you're not welcome here,
don't come back"
kind of a feeling.
But clayton and the
rest of the team are going back.
Yeah, we do have plans
to go back there
because I hope to find
the same thing.
I really do.
I mean, that's why I do this,
and I really kind of
want conclusion.
I want to see more.
Oh!
- Oh
- right there behind the tree!
- Yeah.
- What is that?
Cryptids
such as the famed bigfoot
are creatures
that many people believe exist
despite inconclusive
evidence and now,
a few recent cycloptic sightings
have some people asking
if we're witnessing
the birth of a new cryptid,
or even something greater.
The legend of the cyclops
stretches all the way back
to the ancient greeks.
Cyclops are very common
in greek mythology.
They've been said to be
the sons of poseidon.
Most infamously,
odysseus fought a cyclops
that basically lived in a cave.
He was a giant.
He threw rocks,
wasn't the most
pleasant of chaps,
so not necessarily revered
or worshipped but was feared.
One of the things
that led people to believe
that there were cyclopses
is if you look at, like,
an elephant skull,
it looks like a cyclops.
People would find
elephant skulls back in the day
and see the one hole
where the trunk was and assume
that that was an eye socket,
so from that point on,
they assumed that
these creatures had one eye,
so I could easily see how people
could be inspired to think
that what they're looking at
is some sort of undiscovered
creature or cryptid monster.
There are actually
a lot of cryptid
that have one eye.
There's the huan cat in china,
which is kind of like a tiger
with one eye,
and it has three tails.
There's a bungisngis
in the philippines,
which is like a giant cyclops,
and so I wouldn't be surprised
if all of these
mythical creatures originated
because they saw animals
like this one-eyed cow.
Indeed, this one-eyed cow
was born to a villager
in northern india in late 2018,
and after its birth, some of
the hindu faithful in the area
began to worship this cow as
a reincarnation of a hindu god.
Hindus believe in a deity
called kamadhenu,
and what she is,
is a white female cow,
and she's the embodiment
of all the hindu deities.
So in hinduism,
you don't eat beef,
and india reveres cows
and respects them
because they believe
it to be a deity,
and it's supposed to be
a bringer of good luck,
wealth and health.
There's a lot of cultures
that worship animals like this.
I think any time you see
something as unique
as this one-eyed cow,
it does make you question
the reality that we live in,
and it'll validate certain
religious beliefs
that they hold.
Sometimes
when these anomalies are born,
superstitions will arise
and people,
sometimes they see it as a
message from god type of thing,
so it's as valid
a part of spirituality
as any form of life,
and it is as holy
as anything else.
We see fantastic creatures
in mythology and now in movies.
To see it in real life, flesh
and blood and bone, is amazing,
and even if this creature
doesn't survive, it existed,
so what does that mean
for our legends?
What does that mean
for our gods?
Maybe they existed, too.
That's why in addition
to the holy cow,
a few other
unsettling discoveries
have come under further scrutiny
like this baby goat
born in india in 2017...
...Or this pig born in china
in the same year.
We've mythologized a lot
of animals that possess things
that frighten us
for some reason.
Human beings have these
natural fears of certain things.
That's why people get excited
when they see things in the sky
that they can't explain
or, you know, creatures that
they can't explain, animals.
It throws them off, and now with
video cameras and camera phones
and the internet,
we can all see it
right there in front of us.
Coming up...
After-hours activity
among demonic dolls
at a museum for stranger things.
The rolling hills of
eastern nebraska might not sound
like a place where you'd find
a lot of paranormal activity,
but the city of plattsmouth
is home to one
of the greatest concentrations
of paranormal artifacts
and haunted objects
in the world...
The museum of shadows.
I'm nate raterman.
And I'm kaleigh raterman.
And we're the owners
of the museum of shadows.
The museum of shadows houses
more than a thousand occult
relics from around the world.
People started sending me
donations of items
that they believe
that had a paranormal
or spirit attachment to it.
We really wanted to give people
a place where they can
come out and experience
the energy for themselves
or just read the stories
behind the artifacts.
Not surprisingly,
this concentration
of paranormal energy
has led to a lot of otherworldly
captures on the museum's
closed-circuit cameras like this
example from the summer of 2018.
What we see is a ball,
a children's ball
that's seemingly kicked
by an unseen force.
It actually seems to roll back
toward the person
that kicked it,
so the movement that it has
after it's been kicked
isn't consistent with a ball
that's simply been blown around.
The ball actually is
a trigger object.
We have it in a room called
the death room where there
was actually a lady murdered
who worked in the brothel
which was once
in our building in 1881.
The ratermans have
strict protocols
for investigating
an object's integrity.
Each item is placed
into individual rooms.
My camera guys are monitoring
24/7 just so that way,
we can capture
any type of activity if any,
and then we go in
and do about a 2-week,
sometimes 3-week investigation
usually every day
just to make sure
that there's something
actually attached to the item.
And in the case of this doll,
a spirit certainly seemed
to have attached.
Always with the dolls, you know?
It's like, "why do people
keep playing with dolls?"
when I was younger,
I absolutely hated dolls.
I was convinced that they were
going to come to life
when I was sleeping,
so when I see videos of dolls
moving, it creeps me out
because it just confirms
my deepest fears...
That this dolls can move.
And the doll really looks like
it's walking, you know?
It doesn't look like it slides
and falls over.
It really looks like
the little legs are walking.
But it's another doll
that has earned even more
of a notorious reputation
for moving on its own.
The doll that rocks on her own,
her name is lea,
and we actually brought her
out of quarantine,
and we wanted to be able
to kind of view her in person
inside of the museum
and let everyone see with us.
These types of videos
tend to be really common,
but in most of them,
you can sort of see, "okay,
maybe someone is moving
the chair behind it."
you can usually explain it away,
but in this one, you don't see
anything around the chair,
so it's a little bit harder
to debunk, and that's...
It makes it so much creepier.
This was also the doll that
got yanked out of the chair
at 10:00 in the morning.
Well, we know that ghosts
or poltergeists, you know,
have the ability to move things
and then throw things,
so maybe it's, like,
a residual ghost
that just cannot leave the doll.
It's just creepy.
But there are those
who have expressed unease
at this much spiritual energy
being concentrated in one place.
Well, once you start
gathering these things,
your odds for paranormal
activity grow exponentially.
Once you put them
all under one roof,
it's party time for these
spirits, I would imagine.
So should that make
people be wary
of visiting the museum?
I don't know whether I
would really want to go in there
and walk around
because sometimes,
these supposedly haunted objects
can be attracted to you.
You just walk by it or whatever.
It just might...
It might follow you home.
And what about the owners?
We always wear, like,
proper gear as far as,
like, gloves
or, you know, something.
That way there's, like,
a barrier between our skin
and the actual item.
Just that way we don't,
you know,
get that direct energy exchange,
so that way,
we don't have to worry about
something possibly
attaching to us.
I think it's good
to wear thick gloves
when touching old artifacts
just because it probably
won't smudge them as much,
but I'm not sure
if a thick glove
is gonna stop it
from going into your body
and possessing your soul.
We're very careful.
We don't want to take
our work home with us.
That's for sure.
Coming up...
A pilot over argentina
has a close call
with two flying saucers.
Perhaps
the primary qualification
among those who want to earn
their pilot's licenses
is a deep, unyielding desire
to explore the friendly skies,
but the best advice for
the world's future aviators...
Be careful what you wish for
because you never know
what might be lurking behind
that seemingly innocuous cloud
your plane
is headed straight into.
A veteran argentine airman
can attest to that.
In 2014, an argentine pilot...
Who to this day
wishes to remain anonymous...
Was flying his private aircraft
at around 5,000 feet
and filming out
of his cockpit windshield.
Suddenly, out of nowhere,
an unidentified aircraft zipped
just in front
of the pilot's plane
at a remarkably fast speed,
and seconds later,
a second object crossed
the same path as the first,
somehow traveling at an even
faster rate of speed,
but the pilot's strange
encounter wasn't over yet.
Less than a minute later,
the two aircrafts flew directly
in front of
his windshield again,
this time from the opposite
direction and at the same time.
What was cool about this clip
is usually, the ufo videos
we see,
it's far off in the distance.
Here we have a pilot
in the cockpit
filming two objects pass by
so close at high velocity.
Now, what are they?
What are we seeing?
Jason gleaves is a ufologist
who obtained the original
footage from the pilot
to complete a thorough analysis.
My name is jason gleaves.
I'm a ufologist in the u.K.
To me, they look like
real flying saucers.
I have no other explanation
for it.
It's not a, you know,
a reflection on the window.
It's not, you know, a bird going
by in front of the propeller.
If you stop the motion
on the video
just as the object
is flying past the plane,
you get a really
clear picture of what it is.
It's a seemingly metallic
disc shape,
just like we imagine
flying saucers,
and the pilot is clearly
flying through the air,
so it's not like somebody
just threw a pie plate
or something across the front
of the plane,
and then it happens again,
and they're in close
enough proximity
that it seems like
it's actually dangerous.
I would be pretty alarmed
if I were the pilot.
But if there is such unanimity
about the remarkable nature
of this footage,
why does the pilot insist on
keeping his identity a secret?
Well, I think a lot of
pilots will not say, you know,
"I got something going 900 miles
an hour next to my plane,
and I don't know what it is,"
because, yeah, you know, you get
ridiculed and everything else.
But, you know, the more
and more this ufo evidence
is coming out now,
so I think there's more
people that are,
you know, willing to say,
"hey, you know, I saw something
I can't explain."
People are starting to
take the ufo footage
that is being collected
a little bit more seriously.
Even the u.S. Navy
and the u.S. Air force,
they're coming up
with a new set of guidelines
when it comes to reporting
ufos seen by their pilots
and people on naval vessels,
so even the u.S. Military
is wondering,
"what the heck
is going on here?"
And until we figure out
just what the heck
is going on here,
the world's pilots remain
our best source
for potential contact.
Ever since man first had flight,
they've been seeing
things in the sky
that they can't understand
or explain.
I mean, it's just...
It's not, you know,
just a modern-day phenomenon.
It's been going on
since the wright brothers.
Like the depths of our ocean,
our skies are
largely unexplored.
We have tons of cloud cover
that could hide
any number of strange entities
or strange craft
from another planet, perhaps,
so the more time we spend up
there flying around,
the more we're gonna
experience stuff like this.
It's only a matter of time
before we start to learn
what these things actually are.
Coming up... A ghost
child surprises patrons
in a singapore watering hole.
It is said
that the personality traits
we have as living beings
are the same ones
we will possess as spirits.
That's why the ghosts
of children, precocious,
rambunctious and full of energy,
rank as perhaps
the most unpredictable
of the lot and recently,
some security cameras
at a bar in singapore
seem to capture this
unpredictability firsthand.
In 2015, two patrons
were winding down
what had been a busy evening
at the cato bar in singapore
with the lone staff
member on duty
sweeping near the patrons
behind the counter,
but the seemingly
uneventful moment
quickly took
an otherworldly turn.
Watch the empty stool
to the left of the patrons.
Out of nowhere, the stool
started moving on its own...
...Before it finally
tipped over for good,
startling the three
remaining people at the bar.
Generally if you see a ghost
video, you'll see a chair,
and it might move a few inches
in one direction.
This chair, unbeknownst to the
people sitting right next to it,
was rocking back and forth,
so it wasn't just an energy
that moved it once.
It was an energy that moved
it back and forth
until it finally had the force
to knock it over.
This is a really interesting
piece of evidence.
If you notice, there are
two surveillance cameras,
so you're getting two angles
of the same phenomena,
which I think is really cool.
But the moving chair
was only the otherworldly
appetizer
for what
the cameras caught next.
Watch closely behind the patrons
as they examine
the tipped-over barstool.
Watch again in slow motion
as a small apparition
materialized from thin air
and ran out of the bar
with the patrons
and bartender unaware of it all.
What is that baby
doing in a bar?
Doesn't the baby know
you've got to be 21 to drink?
Could this be what caused
the stool to knock over?
It seems too far away,
but the coincidence of it.
It doesn't look like
an animal... a cat,
a dog, a big mouse.
What was it?
Something knocked
over that stool.
It doesn't look like
a full human.
It does look like
something small,
but it definitely gives
the vibe of a little child.
But not just any little child.
The former manager of the cato,
which has since closed down,
believes that the spirit
seen on video
is that of a boy named james,
the child of a former employee
who had perished in a fire.
It's commonly believed that
at whatever age you died,
if your spirit remains
earthbound,
you will be that age for as long
as your spirit is present,
so if you died as a child,
and your spirit
is still earthbound,
you are that child existing
on this plane,
just running around being
playful, being childlike.
When we die, you know,
there's gonna be a little bit
of energy that's released,
but when a child dies,
they had the entire world
in front of them.
They had their whole future
to live for,
and all of that releases
out of their body at once,
causing much more energy
to be released.
That would very well
could be residual.
It's just that child's energy
remaining,
playing over and over
and over again.
They'll never be able
to make contact.
They'll never be able
to interact with it,
but that child energy
will persist.
It seemed to be, like,
an intelligent haunt to me
because it can interact
with objects.
It sees this is a barstool,
and I can move it.
It sees this is an exit.
I could walk through it.
Usually with your
residual haunts,
it will walk through walls
or walk through seats
and seem like it has no mass
and doesn't interact
with any of
the physical objects of today.
Regardless,
it's no surprise that the cato,
or anywhere else
that houses different souls
going about their business
every day,
is the subject
of this kind of activity.
Any place where you have a ton
of people day in and day out
with energy expelled
and energy absorbed,
it seems to be the kind of place
that harbors some
sort of paranormal activity.
You look at schools, churches,
hospitals, bars.
A lot of these places have a lot
of people come in there
for one particular reason...
Expelling that energy,
so it's possible
that the entities
are either attracted
to these places
because of all this energy,
or they were there ahead of time
and able to manifest
and be more powerful
because of this energy,
but either way,
it seems to be the energy
that draws them there.
Coming up...
A man finds out the hard way
just how haunted his house is.
Michael magee,
a resident of york, England,
was featured in a story
last season as he encountered
potential poltergeist activity
in his attic.
I want you to leave my house.
But it was only after
witnessing strange occurrences
on a totally different
floor of the house
that made michael
begin to suspect
that he could be living with
an actual otherworldly entity,
and he decided it was time
to capture some proof.
If there's anything in this...
Magee had been recording
paranormal activity
in his home for months
when around September of 2014,
he took it up a notch.
Hello, my name is michael magee,
and it's me in these videos.
I'd heard these things
happening, and I'd come down,
and I'd found things moved
from one place to another,
and I just wanted to see it
with my own eyes.
I wanted to know that
it wasn't in my head,
and I wanted to capture
some evidence
that I wasn't making it up,
so I decided to just
do paranormal experiments
and try to incite activity
in front of me.
So he began by asking the spirit
to move objects in his home,
beginning with a candle, which
didn't work as he had hoped.
Please move the candle for me.
Anything at all.
But when he next tried
his television remote,
he had far more
satisfying results.
If there's anything in this...
Whoa.
In the early stages
of investigating a haunting,
sometimes it could be
very thrilling.
You do experiments.
You say, "hey, can you make
this move?"
and the fact that he's able
to get this activity
to happen almost on cue means
that there's something there.
Whether it's trying to
make contact with him
or just trying to establish
its dominance is still unclear,
but it seems like
a fairly haunted location.
Whoa.
Fear was not my first instinct.
It was just awe, and it's
only really after the fact
when you think about
what that actually means
is there is a spirit
or a human spirit
or some other kind of entity
in your house at all times.
Like, no matter
what you're doing,
it could be there watching you,
and I think that
that reality there is
what scares me the most.
Perhaps that fear is
what led michael
to next try something
a little more old-fashioned.
A little bit later on
in the week,
I decided to do the powder
on the floor test
where you put talcum
powder on the floor
in hopes that you would capture
some kind of footprint.
Like, I'd heard footsteps,
so why couldn't
I capture a footprint?
The baby-powder trick
where you put
the baby powder on the ground
and then hopefully try
to get some footprints,
it's extremely common
in paranormal studies.
They do it to try to find,
you know, demons,
and it's been in popular
folklore for a long time.
So the basic idea is I leave
this overnight,
come down tomorrow morning
and, um,
see if we catch anything.
And at 1:24 a.M. That night,
the spirit showed itself.
Watch again in slow motion
as an energy force
blows the powder across
the floor not once, but twice.
He seemed to have caught
some sort of air moving,
like someone was blowing
on the powder.
Now, if it were a draft
or something,
it would have to be
a very intense one
because we not only see
the powder move,
we also see... I think
there's something hanging there.
It's got straps hanging down
to the right side,
and that's moving, too,
so there is...
There is definitely
a force of air
or something moving past there.
Either way,
this is a very clever way
to try to trick an entity
into giving up their location
or giving up some evidence.
Now, the haunting and activity
progressed really, really fast,
and I partially blame myself
for that
for taking such an active role
in investigating
and asking it to do things.
I think I inadvertently gave it
more energy
than I probably should have.
Leave my house.
One of the dangers of any
interaction with a spirit
is that when you make contact,
when you reach out and say,
"I'm here. I'm listening,"
you invite more activity.
You are opening a dialogue,
and sometimes that dialogue
will not be with spirits
that you necessarily mean
to make contact with.
Sometimes things get worse.
Things get more scary,
more malevolent
because you've opened that door.
You've said, "I'm willing
and ready to make contact."
To know that there is
somebody there
that you've never met,
you have no idea who they are,
and they are just
watching you all the time.
I think that for me is the most
terrifying thing of all.
Coming up...
The hong kong night sky
ablaze in mystery.
Hong kong is known
as one of the most cosmopolitan
trading cities in the world.
Its long history
as a commercial hub
has led to a varied
and vibrant culture
shaped by all the people
who have used its ports
as either a way station
or a final destination.
As of late 2018, it seems some
of hong kong's newest visitors
could be coming from further
than we could ever imagine.
20 December, 2018,
and something surprising.
My name is mandip, and I was
the person who shot the video.
Mandip sandhu and his family
had lived
in hong kong for five years.
But it was more than
just flashing lights.
Look!
The lights seemed
to radiate out.
They seemed to sweep and swirl
and then come back in.
Whoa!
The light, the bright light
is really hard
to show from the ground up
if it's a projection,
but it's... it's weird.
The fact that
it's taken in hong kong,
you know there's
a lot of skyscrapers.
There's a lot of lights.
There's a lot of things that
this probably could be
that would explain it away,
but the fact that the person
who took the video
is aware of all that
and can look up and say,
"that's unusual"
enough to take his camera out
to capture it makes me go, "hmm.
All right.
Let me put aside
my skepticism for a moment.
What am I looking at?"
I want to say
it's, like, a natural
weather phenomenon,
but I don't think so.
It's too structured,
too controlled to be
a, you know, a force of nature.
Mandip's curiosity
made him keep his camera
trained on the phenomenon
for over 12 minutes
watching the patterns change.
Whoa.
For a moment, mandip thought
he had a logical explanation
for what he was seeing.
And so at that point,
mandip started
to draw some conclusions.
It's really far away,
yet you see
the lights really well,
so those lights must have been
extremely bright,
but I have no idea what could be
causing something like that.
What this visitor was
doing was far from clear.
And it has these
pulsating lights
over and over and over again.
It could be possibly
an alien message.
I mean, who knows how aliens
want to communicate?
If mandip is right
about what he saw,
he may have documented
the beginning
of an exciting new chapter
on hong kong's
and earth's long history.
Yeah.
What should you do in the event
you witness
something paranormal?
Here are some tips to get it
all on camera...
Never be afraid
of a little confrontation.
Get it!
Check all security footage just
in case you missed something.
Investigate as thoroughly
as you possibly can,
and if you do catch something,
and connect with us
on social media.
Your footage could be seen
right here
on "paranormal caught
on camera."
caught on camera"...
- Oh
- right there behind the tree!
A team
of graveyard investigators
confronts the undead.
- What the...?
- What the hell was that?
I was scared.
Like, the hairs on my arms
were standing up.
An unassuming pilot
has a close encounter
with unidentified aircrafts.
To me, they look like
real flying saucers.
I have no other explanation
for it.
A man in the u.K.
Grapples with the reality
of his own personal
haunted house.
If there's anything
in this... whoa.
Sometimes things get worse.
Things get more scary,
more malevolent
because you've opened that door.
You've said, "I'm willing
and ready to make contact."
A ufo glow in the night sky
alarms a family in hong kong.
Look!
It definitely seemed
to be paranormal.
Ghosts run rampant at
a museum of haunted artifacts.
Always with the dolls.
It's like, "why do people
keep playing with dolls?"
And even more paranormal footage
you have to see...
To believe.
Most cemeteries
quietly serve out
their intended purpose...
As unremarkable final
resting places for the departed,
but at a select few, something
along the way went wrong,
and as a result,
the spirits of the dead
are anything but restful.
That's what drew clayton golda
and heather smith
to a supposedly haunted cemetery
one night in 2019,
where their
paranormal suspicions
were unambiguously confirmed.
- Oh! Oh
- right here, behind the tree!
Yeah. What is that?
Place is a little spooky.
It's out here
in the middle of nowhere.
Golda and smith,
natives of hernando county,
florida,
were invited with
a few colleagues
to investigate
an infamous cemetery
that once served
a now-deserted town
near the florida-georgia border,
a 5-hour drive away.
Wow, it's really spooky.
My name is clayton golda,
and I'm the one
who shot the video.
I keep hearing something.
I don't know if it's down
over there.
My name is heather smith,
and I was filming with clay
in this cemetery,
and we were told that
that cemetery is
a few hundred years old,
and people have spotted shadows.
They're not sure
if it was actually people.
They're not sure
if it was spirits,
so we were asked to do
an investigation there.
Really old-looking ones
right here.
And not long
into the investigation,
they got what they came to see.
Oh! Something just moved
over there.
Is that the tree? Oh!
Oh
- right there behind the tree!
- Yeah.
- What is that?
Watch again
in slow motion as a spirit
seems to manifest
behind a nearby bush
before noticing the team
and quickly turning back.
When on an investigation,
your hope is to see something.
You are really praying, "okay,
we've got the team together.
We've got our equipment out.
Hopefully something
presents itself,"
and in this case, something...
There's a form behind the bush
that they capture,
they manage to get on video.
We heard some noises,
and we're shining
our flashlights down there
and lo and behold,
we saw something.
Is that the tree? Oh!
Oh
- right there behind the tree!
- Yeah.
- What is that?
At first, I thought
the tree was moving,
but it wasn't that breezy out,
so I'm like,
"what is that, the tree?"
and then I saw it.
It was, like, a figure there,
and I didn't know what it was,
if it was something
that isn't human,
so I didn't want
to run after it,
so I tried to just go slow,
walk up to it,
but it, like, turned and left.
Whatever it is
that these investigators
seem to have uncovered
is very strange-looking.
This could very well be
a shadow entity.
It appears to be a robed figure,
and it sort of moves away
very quickly
with this sweeping motion,
but it doesn't look
like a person per se
because there's something wrong
with the light
about it, you know?
You can't really tell
that the...
If the robe has a color.
It's sort of this neutral,
almost
translucent-looking thing.
I literally, like,
could see through it.
It was kind of, like,
transparent.
I was scared.
Like, the hairs on my arms
were standing up.
I knew what we just saw,
and the thing is,
is we didn't see
anything walk off.
We didn't hear any noises.
We didn't hear footsteps.
Like, we searched
the whole area,
so that's what led us
to believe that it was a spirit.
And not just any spirit.
Back in the day,
they would get
a lot of grave robbers,
so the town came together
and decided they'd
take turns in shifts,
and they would watch
over the cemetery,
but then it kept happened.
They kept getting robbed
while no one was there,
and they ended up finding out
it was one of the people
from the town
that robbed the cemetery,
and then this guy
mysteriously went missing.
Now, this was
He just... He vanished.
No one knows
what happened to him.
A lot of people say the
townspeople took care of him,
I guess you would say,
"took care of the problem."
that's when the shadow figures
started popping up
was when he disappeared,
and the people in that town,
they were thinking
that he came back,
and his spirit form
still haunts that place.
What the hell was that?
It was right over here.
I thought it was a tree
at first,
but it freaking moved.
There have been claims of people
seeing shadow people forever,
for as long as people
have been seeing apparitions
or what people
traditionally call ghosts.
That was crazy.
I don't think
they're really ghosts
because I don't
really think ghosts
have any kind of a memory
or whatever,
but shadow people seem to have
some kind of intelligence.
They can follow you around
and play weird tricks on you.
Perhaps that's why
golda and smith's
colleague stacy
had the encounter that she
did only a few minutes later.
God! Something just touched me.
- Oh.
- Are you serious?
I'm serious.
Oh, my god, and this meter
just started going off,
too, when you said that.
- Where did it touch you at?
- I'm not sure.
This is crazy.
This is real crazy.
Like, just something...
Just, like, it's, like,
fingerprints trying to grab you.
- Oh, my god.
- Oh, my god.
There's actually been
many encounters
where we felt like
something touched us,
or we felt like something was,
like, up against us
where we could feel,
like, somebody's
presence right there.
The whole point of trying
to communicate with the dead
is to get a response,
and sometimes people
don't realize
that entities have different
ways of communicating.
They don't have
vocal cords anymore.
It's hard for them
to make sounds,
so being touched
and pushed are definitely ways
that an energy would try
to communicate with somebody.
It kind of pulled me,
like it was trying
to grab my shoulder.
I've been touched
by nothing in front of me.
I don't know if I was
necessarily poked,
or I would have seen
my jacket indent like this,
but I definitely felt it,
and I believe that
that was the spirit's only way.
They don't have a body.
They don't have the tools.
The only way that they can
communicate or interact with you
in that physical kind of way
is through some kind of pk,
psychokinesis, kind of mind
over matter type of thing.
But that wasn't
the squad's final
unearthly encounter
for the evening.
While heather was recording
some final thoughts in her car,
the spirits outside
wanted to give
the group a proper send-off.
...As we were trying to leave,
so I had to get
to the car and...
- what the...?
- What the hell?
- What the hell was that?
- I don't know.
Something suddenly
struck the car,
sending the team back out
into the graveyard
to search for the source.
It felt like it shook the car.
That whole car rocked
really hard.
I immediately, at this point,
was interested
in pursuing softly.
At this point, I wanted to know
what this was,
so I jumped out
of my door immediately.
Get it!
The other gentleman, jt,
he jumped out right away,
and we caught something
running back into there,
or it looked like
it was running,
so we took off running after it.
It was the same brown figure.
- What?
- I didn't see any feet.
Clay searched the whole area.
We all looked around to see,
like, if there was, you know,
footsteps around the car
that didn't look like ours,
and we didn't find anything,
so for it to kind of make
that loud of a noise
on the outside of the car,
that definitely led us
to believe
it was something paranormal
that did that.
The banging
that they heard on the car
is a little bit aggressive,
so I definitely believe it was
possible that it was a spirit
who was just trying
to get them out of there.
The entity was trying to
scare people from behind a bush.
The lady was touched as well as
the car was actually attacked,
so to me, it seems like whatever
it is inhabiting these woods
and that cemetery, they want
these people out of there.
- Was that a person?
- What the happened here?
What the hell?
Whatever it was, I didn't feel
it was giving us
a nice little
"see you later" push.
I think it was,
"you're not welcome here,
don't come back"
kind of a feeling.
But clayton and the
rest of the team are going back.
Yeah, we do have plans
to go back there
because I hope to find
the same thing.
I really do.
I mean, that's why I do this,
and I really kind of
want conclusion.
I want to see more.
Oh!
- Oh
- right there behind the tree!
- Yeah.
- What is that?
Cryptids
such as the famed bigfoot
are creatures
that many people believe exist
despite inconclusive
evidence and now,
a few recent cycloptic sightings
have some people asking
if we're witnessing
the birth of a new cryptid,
or even something greater.
The legend of the cyclops
stretches all the way back
to the ancient greeks.
Cyclops are very common
in greek mythology.
They've been said to be
the sons of poseidon.
Most infamously,
odysseus fought a cyclops
that basically lived in a cave.
He was a giant.
He threw rocks,
wasn't the most
pleasant of chaps,
so not necessarily revered
or worshipped but was feared.
One of the things
that led people to believe
that there were cyclopses
is if you look at, like,
an elephant skull,
it looks like a cyclops.
People would find
elephant skulls back in the day
and see the one hole
where the trunk was and assume
that that was an eye socket,
so from that point on,
they assumed that
these creatures had one eye,
so I could easily see how people
could be inspired to think
that what they're looking at
is some sort of undiscovered
creature or cryptid monster.
There are actually
a lot of cryptid
that have one eye.
There's the huan cat in china,
which is kind of like a tiger
with one eye,
and it has three tails.
There's a bungisngis
in the philippines,
which is like a giant cyclops,
and so I wouldn't be surprised
if all of these
mythical creatures originated
because they saw animals
like this one-eyed cow.
Indeed, this one-eyed cow
was born to a villager
in northern india in late 2018,
and after its birth, some of
the hindu faithful in the area
began to worship this cow as
a reincarnation of a hindu god.
Hindus believe in a deity
called kamadhenu,
and what she is,
is a white female cow,
and she's the embodiment
of all the hindu deities.
So in hinduism,
you don't eat beef,
and india reveres cows
and respects them
because they believe
it to be a deity,
and it's supposed to be
a bringer of good luck,
wealth and health.
There's a lot of cultures
that worship animals like this.
I think any time you see
something as unique
as this one-eyed cow,
it does make you question
the reality that we live in,
and it'll validate certain
religious beliefs
that they hold.
Sometimes
when these anomalies are born,
superstitions will arise
and people,
sometimes they see it as a
message from god type of thing,
so it's as valid
a part of spirituality
as any form of life,
and it is as holy
as anything else.
We see fantastic creatures
in mythology and now in movies.
To see it in real life, flesh
and blood and bone, is amazing,
and even if this creature
doesn't survive, it existed,
so what does that mean
for our legends?
What does that mean
for our gods?
Maybe they existed, too.
That's why in addition
to the holy cow,
a few other
unsettling discoveries
have come under further scrutiny
like this baby goat
born in india in 2017...
...Or this pig born in china
in the same year.
We've mythologized a lot
of animals that possess things
that frighten us
for some reason.
Human beings have these
natural fears of certain things.
That's why people get excited
when they see things in the sky
that they can't explain
or, you know, creatures that
they can't explain, animals.
It throws them off, and now with
video cameras and camera phones
and the internet,
we can all see it
right there in front of us.
Coming up...
After-hours activity
among demonic dolls
at a museum for stranger things.
The rolling hills of
eastern nebraska might not sound
like a place where you'd find
a lot of paranormal activity,
but the city of plattsmouth
is home to one
of the greatest concentrations
of paranormal artifacts
and haunted objects
in the world...
The museum of shadows.
I'm nate raterman.
And I'm kaleigh raterman.
And we're the owners
of the museum of shadows.
The museum of shadows houses
more than a thousand occult
relics from around the world.
People started sending me
donations of items
that they believe
that had a paranormal
or spirit attachment to it.
We really wanted to give people
a place where they can
come out and experience
the energy for themselves
or just read the stories
behind the artifacts.
Not surprisingly,
this concentration
of paranormal energy
has led to a lot of otherworldly
captures on the museum's
closed-circuit cameras like this
example from the summer of 2018.
What we see is a ball,
a children's ball
that's seemingly kicked
by an unseen force.
It actually seems to roll back
toward the person
that kicked it,
so the movement that it has
after it's been kicked
isn't consistent with a ball
that's simply been blown around.
The ball actually is
a trigger object.
We have it in a room called
the death room where there
was actually a lady murdered
who worked in the brothel
which was once
in our building in 1881.
The ratermans have
strict protocols
for investigating
an object's integrity.
Each item is placed
into individual rooms.
My camera guys are monitoring
24/7 just so that way,
we can capture
any type of activity if any,
and then we go in
and do about a 2-week,
sometimes 3-week investigation
usually every day
just to make sure
that there's something
actually attached to the item.
And in the case of this doll,
a spirit certainly seemed
to have attached.
Always with the dolls, you know?
It's like, "why do people
keep playing with dolls?"
when I was younger,
I absolutely hated dolls.
I was convinced that they were
going to come to life
when I was sleeping,
so when I see videos of dolls
moving, it creeps me out
because it just confirms
my deepest fears...
That this dolls can move.
And the doll really looks like
it's walking, you know?
It doesn't look like it slides
and falls over.
It really looks like
the little legs are walking.
But it's another doll
that has earned even more
of a notorious reputation
for moving on its own.
The doll that rocks on her own,
her name is lea,
and we actually brought her
out of quarantine,
and we wanted to be able
to kind of view her in person
inside of the museum
and let everyone see with us.
These types of videos
tend to be really common,
but in most of them,
you can sort of see, "okay,
maybe someone is moving
the chair behind it."
you can usually explain it away,
but in this one, you don't see
anything around the chair,
so it's a little bit harder
to debunk, and that's...
It makes it so much creepier.
This was also the doll that
got yanked out of the chair
at 10:00 in the morning.
Well, we know that ghosts
or poltergeists, you know,
have the ability to move things
and then throw things,
so maybe it's, like,
a residual ghost
that just cannot leave the doll.
It's just creepy.
But there are those
who have expressed unease
at this much spiritual energy
being concentrated in one place.
Well, once you start
gathering these things,
your odds for paranormal
activity grow exponentially.
Once you put them
all under one roof,
it's party time for these
spirits, I would imagine.
So should that make
people be wary
of visiting the museum?
I don't know whether I
would really want to go in there
and walk around
because sometimes,
these supposedly haunted objects
can be attracted to you.
You just walk by it or whatever.
It just might...
It might follow you home.
And what about the owners?
We always wear, like,
proper gear as far as,
like, gloves
or, you know, something.
That way there's, like,
a barrier between our skin
and the actual item.
Just that way we don't,
you know,
get that direct energy exchange,
so that way,
we don't have to worry about
something possibly
attaching to us.
I think it's good
to wear thick gloves
when touching old artifacts
just because it probably
won't smudge them as much,
but I'm not sure
if a thick glove
is gonna stop it
from going into your body
and possessing your soul.
We're very careful.
We don't want to take
our work home with us.
That's for sure.
Coming up...
A pilot over argentina
has a close call
with two flying saucers.
Perhaps
the primary qualification
among those who want to earn
their pilot's licenses
is a deep, unyielding desire
to explore the friendly skies,
but the best advice for
the world's future aviators...
Be careful what you wish for
because you never know
what might be lurking behind
that seemingly innocuous cloud
your plane
is headed straight into.
A veteran argentine airman
can attest to that.
In 2014, an argentine pilot...
Who to this day
wishes to remain anonymous...
Was flying his private aircraft
at around 5,000 feet
and filming out
of his cockpit windshield.
Suddenly, out of nowhere,
an unidentified aircraft zipped
just in front
of the pilot's plane
at a remarkably fast speed,
and seconds later,
a second object crossed
the same path as the first,
somehow traveling at an even
faster rate of speed,
but the pilot's strange
encounter wasn't over yet.
Less than a minute later,
the two aircrafts flew directly
in front of
his windshield again,
this time from the opposite
direction and at the same time.
What was cool about this clip
is usually, the ufo videos
we see,
it's far off in the distance.
Here we have a pilot
in the cockpit
filming two objects pass by
so close at high velocity.
Now, what are they?
What are we seeing?
Jason gleaves is a ufologist
who obtained the original
footage from the pilot
to complete a thorough analysis.
My name is jason gleaves.
I'm a ufologist in the u.K.
To me, they look like
real flying saucers.
I have no other explanation
for it.
It's not a, you know,
a reflection on the window.
It's not, you know, a bird going
by in front of the propeller.
If you stop the motion
on the video
just as the object
is flying past the plane,
you get a really
clear picture of what it is.
It's a seemingly metallic
disc shape,
just like we imagine
flying saucers,
and the pilot is clearly
flying through the air,
so it's not like somebody
just threw a pie plate
or something across the front
of the plane,
and then it happens again,
and they're in close
enough proximity
that it seems like
it's actually dangerous.
I would be pretty alarmed
if I were the pilot.
But if there is such unanimity
about the remarkable nature
of this footage,
why does the pilot insist on
keeping his identity a secret?
Well, I think a lot of
pilots will not say, you know,
"I got something going 900 miles
an hour next to my plane,
and I don't know what it is,"
because, yeah, you know, you get
ridiculed and everything else.
But, you know, the more
and more this ufo evidence
is coming out now,
so I think there's more
people that are,
you know, willing to say,
"hey, you know, I saw something
I can't explain."
People are starting to
take the ufo footage
that is being collected
a little bit more seriously.
Even the u.S. Navy
and the u.S. Air force,
they're coming up
with a new set of guidelines
when it comes to reporting
ufos seen by their pilots
and people on naval vessels,
so even the u.S. Military
is wondering,
"what the heck
is going on here?"
And until we figure out
just what the heck
is going on here,
the world's pilots remain
our best source
for potential contact.
Ever since man first had flight,
they've been seeing
things in the sky
that they can't understand
or explain.
I mean, it's just...
It's not, you know,
just a modern-day phenomenon.
It's been going on
since the wright brothers.
Like the depths of our ocean,
our skies are
largely unexplored.
We have tons of cloud cover
that could hide
any number of strange entities
or strange craft
from another planet, perhaps,
so the more time we spend up
there flying around,
the more we're gonna
experience stuff like this.
It's only a matter of time
before we start to learn
what these things actually are.
Coming up... A ghost
child surprises patrons
in a singapore watering hole.
It is said
that the personality traits
we have as living beings
are the same ones
we will possess as spirits.
That's why the ghosts
of children, precocious,
rambunctious and full of energy,
rank as perhaps
the most unpredictable
of the lot and recently,
some security cameras
at a bar in singapore
seem to capture this
unpredictability firsthand.
In 2015, two patrons
were winding down
what had been a busy evening
at the cato bar in singapore
with the lone staff
member on duty
sweeping near the patrons
behind the counter,
but the seemingly
uneventful moment
quickly took
an otherworldly turn.
Watch the empty stool
to the left of the patrons.
Out of nowhere, the stool
started moving on its own...
...Before it finally
tipped over for good,
startling the three
remaining people at the bar.
Generally if you see a ghost
video, you'll see a chair,
and it might move a few inches
in one direction.
This chair, unbeknownst to the
people sitting right next to it,
was rocking back and forth,
so it wasn't just an energy
that moved it once.
It was an energy that moved
it back and forth
until it finally had the force
to knock it over.
This is a really interesting
piece of evidence.
If you notice, there are
two surveillance cameras,
so you're getting two angles
of the same phenomena,
which I think is really cool.
But the moving chair
was only the otherworldly
appetizer
for what
the cameras caught next.
Watch closely behind the patrons
as they examine
the tipped-over barstool.
Watch again in slow motion
as a small apparition
materialized from thin air
and ran out of the bar
with the patrons
and bartender unaware of it all.
What is that baby
doing in a bar?
Doesn't the baby know
you've got to be 21 to drink?
Could this be what caused
the stool to knock over?
It seems too far away,
but the coincidence of it.
It doesn't look like
an animal... a cat,
a dog, a big mouse.
What was it?
Something knocked
over that stool.
It doesn't look like
a full human.
It does look like
something small,
but it definitely gives
the vibe of a little child.
But not just any little child.
The former manager of the cato,
which has since closed down,
believes that the spirit
seen on video
is that of a boy named james,
the child of a former employee
who had perished in a fire.
It's commonly believed that
at whatever age you died,
if your spirit remains
earthbound,
you will be that age for as long
as your spirit is present,
so if you died as a child,
and your spirit
is still earthbound,
you are that child existing
on this plane,
just running around being
playful, being childlike.
When we die, you know,
there's gonna be a little bit
of energy that's released,
but when a child dies,
they had the entire world
in front of them.
They had their whole future
to live for,
and all of that releases
out of their body at once,
causing much more energy
to be released.
That would very well
could be residual.
It's just that child's energy
remaining,
playing over and over
and over again.
They'll never be able
to make contact.
They'll never be able
to interact with it,
but that child energy
will persist.
It seemed to be, like,
an intelligent haunt to me
because it can interact
with objects.
It sees this is a barstool,
and I can move it.
It sees this is an exit.
I could walk through it.
Usually with your
residual haunts,
it will walk through walls
or walk through seats
and seem like it has no mass
and doesn't interact
with any of
the physical objects of today.
Regardless,
it's no surprise that the cato,
or anywhere else
that houses different souls
going about their business
every day,
is the subject
of this kind of activity.
Any place where you have a ton
of people day in and day out
with energy expelled
and energy absorbed,
it seems to be the kind of place
that harbors some
sort of paranormal activity.
You look at schools, churches,
hospitals, bars.
A lot of these places have a lot
of people come in there
for one particular reason...
Expelling that energy,
so it's possible
that the entities
are either attracted
to these places
because of all this energy,
or they were there ahead of time
and able to manifest
and be more powerful
because of this energy,
but either way,
it seems to be the energy
that draws them there.
Coming up...
A man finds out the hard way
just how haunted his house is.
Michael magee,
a resident of york, England,
was featured in a story
last season as he encountered
potential poltergeist activity
in his attic.
I want you to leave my house.
But it was only after
witnessing strange occurrences
on a totally different
floor of the house
that made michael
begin to suspect
that he could be living with
an actual otherworldly entity,
and he decided it was time
to capture some proof.
If there's anything in this...
Magee had been recording
paranormal activity
in his home for months
when around September of 2014,
he took it up a notch.
Hello, my name is michael magee,
and it's me in these videos.
I'd heard these things
happening, and I'd come down,
and I'd found things moved
from one place to another,
and I just wanted to see it
with my own eyes.
I wanted to know that
it wasn't in my head,
and I wanted to capture
some evidence
that I wasn't making it up,
so I decided to just
do paranormal experiments
and try to incite activity
in front of me.
So he began by asking the spirit
to move objects in his home,
beginning with a candle, which
didn't work as he had hoped.
Please move the candle for me.
Anything at all.
But when he next tried
his television remote,
he had far more
satisfying results.
If there's anything in this...
Whoa.
In the early stages
of investigating a haunting,
sometimes it could be
very thrilling.
You do experiments.
You say, "hey, can you make
this move?"
and the fact that he's able
to get this activity
to happen almost on cue means
that there's something there.
Whether it's trying to
make contact with him
or just trying to establish
its dominance is still unclear,
but it seems like
a fairly haunted location.
Whoa.
Fear was not my first instinct.
It was just awe, and it's
only really after the fact
when you think about
what that actually means
is there is a spirit
or a human spirit
or some other kind of entity
in your house at all times.
Like, no matter
what you're doing,
it could be there watching you,
and I think that
that reality there is
what scares me the most.
Perhaps that fear is
what led michael
to next try something
a little more old-fashioned.
A little bit later on
in the week,
I decided to do the powder
on the floor test
where you put talcum
powder on the floor
in hopes that you would capture
some kind of footprint.
Like, I'd heard footsteps,
so why couldn't
I capture a footprint?
The baby-powder trick
where you put
the baby powder on the ground
and then hopefully try
to get some footprints,
it's extremely common
in paranormal studies.
They do it to try to find,
you know, demons,
and it's been in popular
folklore for a long time.
So the basic idea is I leave
this overnight,
come down tomorrow morning
and, um,
see if we catch anything.
And at 1:24 a.M. That night,
the spirit showed itself.
Watch again in slow motion
as an energy force
blows the powder across
the floor not once, but twice.
He seemed to have caught
some sort of air moving,
like someone was blowing
on the powder.
Now, if it were a draft
or something,
it would have to be
a very intense one
because we not only see
the powder move,
we also see... I think
there's something hanging there.
It's got straps hanging down
to the right side,
and that's moving, too,
so there is...
There is definitely
a force of air
or something moving past there.
Either way,
this is a very clever way
to try to trick an entity
into giving up their location
or giving up some evidence.
Now, the haunting and activity
progressed really, really fast,
and I partially blame myself
for that
for taking such an active role
in investigating
and asking it to do things.
I think I inadvertently gave it
more energy
than I probably should have.
Leave my house.
One of the dangers of any
interaction with a spirit
is that when you make contact,
when you reach out and say,
"I'm here. I'm listening,"
you invite more activity.
You are opening a dialogue,
and sometimes that dialogue
will not be with spirits
that you necessarily mean
to make contact with.
Sometimes things get worse.
Things get more scary,
more malevolent
because you've opened that door.
You've said, "I'm willing
and ready to make contact."
To know that there is
somebody there
that you've never met,
you have no idea who they are,
and they are just
watching you all the time.
I think that for me is the most
terrifying thing of all.
Coming up...
The hong kong night sky
ablaze in mystery.
Hong kong is known
as one of the most cosmopolitan
trading cities in the world.
Its long history
as a commercial hub
has led to a varied
and vibrant culture
shaped by all the people
who have used its ports
as either a way station
or a final destination.
As of late 2018, it seems some
of hong kong's newest visitors
could be coming from further
than we could ever imagine.
20 December, 2018,
and something surprising.
My name is mandip, and I was
the person who shot the video.
Mandip sandhu and his family
had lived
in hong kong for five years.
But it was more than
just flashing lights.
Look!
The lights seemed
to radiate out.
They seemed to sweep and swirl
and then come back in.
Whoa!
The light, the bright light
is really hard
to show from the ground up
if it's a projection,
but it's... it's weird.
The fact that
it's taken in hong kong,
you know there's
a lot of skyscrapers.
There's a lot of lights.
There's a lot of things that
this probably could be
that would explain it away,
but the fact that the person
who took the video
is aware of all that
and can look up and say,
"that's unusual"
enough to take his camera out
to capture it makes me go, "hmm.
All right.
Let me put aside
my skepticism for a moment.
What am I looking at?"
I want to say
it's, like, a natural
weather phenomenon,
but I don't think so.
It's too structured,
too controlled to be
a, you know, a force of nature.
Mandip's curiosity
made him keep his camera
trained on the phenomenon
for over 12 minutes
watching the patterns change.
Whoa.
For a moment, mandip thought
he had a logical explanation
for what he was seeing.
And so at that point,
mandip started
to draw some conclusions.
It's really far away,
yet you see
the lights really well,
so those lights must have been
extremely bright,
but I have no idea what could be
causing something like that.
What this visitor was
doing was far from clear.
And it has these
pulsating lights
over and over and over again.
It could be possibly
an alien message.
I mean, who knows how aliens
want to communicate?
If mandip is right
about what he saw,
he may have documented
the beginning
of an exciting new chapter
on hong kong's
and earth's long history.
Yeah.
