- [Narrator] Previously on
Niko and the Sword of Light.

- Here it comes.
Atomatron inbound!

[yelling]

- I now have this key

to take me to my
final destination.

- And there's the map piece!

Ilumunious todos reoth!

- [straining] I have it!

- Something seems to be missing.

The key Nar Est stole isn't
to the Forgotten Fortress.

It's to the map!

[growling]

- You.

- [Group] You!

["Niko And The Sword
Of Light Theme"]

- I am Niko, and this is
my sword of light!

I am here to protect my people
and defeat the darkness,

forever!

- Don't just stand there,
you lump of mud.

Attack!

[growling]

I see you've acquired
a map, Highness.

Allow me to relieve you of it.

[straining]
[growling]

Your skills are improving,

but not quickly enough.

- Come on,
into the arrow glider!

[roars]

- Where is Chompsky?

- I don't know!

[yelling]
[rumbling]

- The map, now.

My patience wears thin.

- [Mugwhump]
Leave my friends alone!

[growling]

- Uh, Sire?

[rumbling]

[yelling]

- Ha ha!

Hurry, my queen.

Otto and I will
give you a head start.

- [Niko] But Chompsky,
we cannot leave you!

- I'll be fine,
but you need to go.

Good luck, my friends.

[rumbling]
[growling]

[Chompsky yelling]

- Save your fists.

The map is all that matters.

Rasper, time to fly.

[growling]

- Ugh, of all the times
to have the speed booster
conk out.

I'll just have to
try and outfly them.

- Well, you'd
better start now.

They're closing in!

- I'll man the steam cannon.

[squawking]

[Niko yelling]

- They've got the map!

- Splendid, work,
my dark champion.

- You will not escape!
[yells]

Aah!

Darkness!

- Do something!

- Be gone!

- I'm trying.

- No!

They're gone.

- Do you see this
strange glowy trail

or do my visions return?

- I see it.

[gasps] Of course.

It's right there in the rhyme.

"Altogether, altogether,

"then your path will shine!"

It must be a path to
the Forgotten Fortress!

This fight isn't over.

[buzzes]

It's working!

Hang on to something.

Not me!

- Slow down!

I'm serious.

I think I see something ahead.

That's more like it.

- I know this place.

I've seen this blasted land
in my visions.

Something both great

and terrible
once happened here.

[gasps]

- The Forgotten Fortress.

We made it.

Let's just hope
we're not too late.

[yelling]

- [Niko groans]
Chompsky should've given you
landing lessons, too.

- [Lyra] Not now, Niko.

- [laughs] Nice of
Nar Est to leave the door

wide open for us.

- This isn't like him.

Why would he be so careless?

- Never look a gift
gorkle in the jaw sack.

- Mmm.

[stones rumbling]

- The door!

How could Nar Est
be so careless?

- Never look a gift
warbler in the tooth hole.

Come on, let's go!

- The door!

How could Nar Est
be so careless?

- Mmm.

[gasps] The door!

The door!
The door!

The door!
The door.

- Hey, look, the door!

- Stop!

We just keep running
in and out.

Look at our footprints.

There must be some kind
of enchantment going on.

[groans]

Every time we go inside,

we instantly forget
where we are

and come
right back outside.

- Forgotten Fortress.

I think you may be
onto something.

Nar Est must have
made it inside somehow

or he'd still
be out here too.

- Maybe if we had
some kind of memento.

Something we can look at
to remind us where we are.

- Lyra!

Perhaps this?

- [gasps] The map!

Hmmm.

- Okay, where are we?

- Forgotten Fortress.

- Why are we here?

- To stop Nar Est from
obtaining the amulet of power.

- Well, so far, so good.

[creaking]
[rumbling]

- Amazingness!

[yelling]

- Niko, stay close.

We don't wanna get--

- Woo-hoo!

- Eh, separated.

- Lyra, observe!

The laws of nature
do not apply here!

- Niko, come on!

- Apologies.

These moving stairs
are like waterslides.

So tempting.

- No matter what,
we have to stick together.

Now which way?
Up or down?

I say we go up.

[yelling]

- I don't think
we have much of a choice.

[gasps]

[yelling and grunting]

[squeaking]

- I've got you.

- And I have you.

- But who has the map?

[stones creaking and rumbling]

Oh, havoc.

- Greetings!

What is this unusual place?

- Ooh, and what
is this unusual bug?

[squeaking]

- Hey, check out
my cool stick.

Whoa, sorry.

- Farewell, strangers!

[squeaking]

- Oh, will you
quit following me?

[squeaking]

- All right, fine.

I'll protect you,
little guy.

- Hello?

Can anyone hear me?

Hello!

[gasps]

Aah!

- Hello.

I seem to be lost.

Do you know where we are?

- Apologies, kind Sir.

I'm a bit lost myself.

- Perhaps you wouldn't
find if we walk together.

[creaking and rumbling]

- Ah, ooh!

What strange room is this?

[low growling]

Huh?

Whoa!
Thank you, friend.

Those traps would've been
a most unwelcome surprise.

Check out this cool
sword I have!

- Rrr?

Whoa!
You can make glowy stuff too?

Although, yours is
strangely darker than mine.

Are you ready?

Then let these traps be gone!

Blast attack!

[grunting]

My gratitude!

- This way,
my timid companion!

We'll ride these waves
until escape is at hand!

[squeaking]

Yes, I see them too.

You there, friend or foe?

- I don't know.
You tell me.

- Well, since you're not
trying to eat my face off,

I'll go with friend.

But watch yourself, pal!

I'm dangerous.

Oh!

[straining]

[panting]

- Thank you, young lady.

An impressive gem
you have there.

A fire opal?

- I think so.

- I can remember that I'm
a sorcerer of some kind,

though I don't know
if I'm any good.

- A sorcerer.

I think I wanna be
a crystal mage,

but my only memory
is frustration,

like I'm not
quite there yet.

- Perfectly normal.

May I?

- Of course.

- My memories are dim,
of course.

It's this strange place,
I think.

But there is something
I can teach you.

The secret to powerful magic.

- Oh, could you?

- Yes!

Passing down our gifts
to the next generation

should be our duty.

[sighs]

Masters of the Crystal
Arts teach focus

as the key
to powerful magic.

Important to be sure,
but not entirely correct.

What you need is a totem.

- Totem?

- An image in your mind.

Something completely unrelated
to the world around you.

Focus on that,
and your mind is free

to channel your powers
subconsciously.

- Sort of like a...

a happy place!

- Yes, yes, a happy place!
[giggles]

- Let me try.

Huh?

[laughing]

- Wonderful, wonderful!

You see, my dear?

It's working already!

- I could really
feel the difference!

- [Nar Est] Well,
I hope you can put this

to good use some day.

- There!
Up there!

[stones creaking]

- Aw, twigs.
Another dead end.

- [sighs] We made it!

Oh, hello.

I didn't know
anyone else was here.

- Yah!

Whoo-hoo!

- Greetings, strangers!

I am Sword Boy,

and this is my battle brother,
Blasty Hands!

- [chuckles]

- Uh, Sword Boy,

do you happen to have any idea

why we're in this place?

- I sense we are looking
for something important.

Something beyond that door.

Stand aside.

Power strike!

[grunting]

- Pardon us, please.

We have a Crystal Mage
coming through.

- "One star flies with
the sky whale high."

- What was that?

- Never mind.

It's just some old rhyme
that popped into my head.

- Oh, please do recite it.

Some gentle verse
to calm the nerves

would be most welcome.

- [sighs] Why not?

"One star flies
in the sky whale high."

- "Two stars sleep
in the tower keep."

- "Three stars nest
in the molten crest."

- "Four stars walk
with a bower that talks."

- "Altogether, altogether,
then your path will shine.

"The greatest power in the
world is yours alone to find."

- "It will appear when
the four stars align."

I just remembered that!

Do you think
it means anything?

[yelling]

[grunting]

[creaking]

Your Majesty,
are you okay?

- Fine, but how did
you know I was a queen?

How did I know
I was a queen?

Oh, havoc.

- It seems the enchantment
has been lifted.

[Dark Champion growls]

- The amulet of power!

- Flying beak brain!

Get me that amulet.

[hissing]

[panting]

Aah!

[growling]

[squeaking]

- You've made
a grave mistake, Lyra.

Even with my chew toy
of a crystal,

you're no match.

Kere edev batok!

What?

No!

Did I?

I told you about
the happy place.

That's my sinister secret
to superior spells!

- Now it's my secret too.

Keirneg ashol bifoon!

- Wispy, I need you!

Let's see how you enjoy
life as a dark creature

that answers to me!

[squeaking]

- Thanks, Flicker.

Whoa!

[sinister chuckle]

[low growling]

- Kya!

Whoa!

[gasps]

Darkness, be gone!

- Thanks, Niko.

That was close.

- Lyra, the amulet!

[panting]

- Huh?

[panting]

- We must make haste.

- No, Niko, wait.

I think I have
a faster way up there.

Happy place,
happy place, happy place.

- Lyra, are we flying?

- At last!

The ultimate power in all
known existence is mine.

Unh!

- Huh?
- Huh?

[growling]

- There you are.

Bring that amulet to me.

I command it.

- No!
Nar Est cannot be trusted!

- Obey your master,
mud moundrel.

I made you.

Bring me that amulet
or you will suffer dearly.

- Dark Champion, I do not know
what truly lies in your heart,

but the destruction of
this world benefits no one,

including you.

Help us, please!

[growling]

[rumbling]

[shouts]

- Niko?

- This is not good.

- Did you hear me?

Give that back to me
this instant.

It's mine.

- Silence.

- Huh?

- Um, he sounds different.

- And not in a good way.

- Your disloyalty will
not be forgotten, Nar Est.

But since you did offer me,
at least, some assistance,

I will permit
your continued existence.

- How dare you
speak to me that way?

Who do you think you are?

- I am the darkness,

and I have arrived.

["Niko And The Sword
of Light Theme"]

- Chirp.
