Nikita (2010–2013): Season 3, Episode 13 - Reunion - full transcript

When Nikita and Amanda are both captured, the two must work together to escape. Owen is furious with Michael after Michael assigns Alex to be Nikita's backup instead of him.

Previously on Nikita:

- You said you wanted to be safe. From who?
- Amanda.

We're not together anymore,
she doesn't know I'm here.

The only thing worth fighting for
was my son.

If this protector of yours is as good
as you say he is, your son will be fine.

You had the chance to kill me before, Nikita,
but for some reason you didn't.

- That was a mistake.
- I guess I have a target on my back now.

Just like Ari's son.

- You leave the boy out of this.
- The boy is fair game.

We are running out of time.

I have given you everything
I know about Amanda.

Bank accounts, safe houses, contacts.
Now get out there...

...and use them to hunt her down
before she finds my son.

Michael will run all this intel through Ops,
but you haven't given me everything.

Tell me, small details about Amanda.
Anything.

- You were together for what, 20 years?
- She was different then.

Less unhinged.

- What changed her?
- Moscow.

You had a gun pointed at her
and you didn't shoot.

You let her live...

...and she found that self-righteous display
of mercy to be humiliating.

An insult she will never forgive you for.

What I want to know is
do you forgive yourself?

If you had killed her,
a lot of people would still be alive today.

Don't get why we're helping this snake.

After Ari and Amanda decrypted
the remaining black box...

...they re-encrypted it with two keys.
His and hers.

How romantic.

The point is, without Ari's password,
the box stays locked.

So she grabs the kid,
forces Ari to give up the goods.

One problem. We have this son of a bitch
on lockdown.

- She wants to deal, she has to deal with us.
- Stefan Tasarov is 15 years old.

We can't let an innocent be used
as a bargaining chip.

Which one is Ari's son?

I'll know him when I see him.

So I'll definitely call you sometime.

- I'd like that.
- Okay.

- I gotta go. See you.
- Bye.

What do you think? She's cute, right?

- Who is she?
- Her name's Ilyia. She's Russian...

...and speaks an adorably small amount
of English.

Don't worry.

So you can stop giving me that look.

You talk to her a lot?

Uh, yeah. I told her I was Stefan Tasarov.

That my dad ran a corrupt security firm
in Moscow...

...and, oh, yeah, I gave her our address.

- Not funny.
- You're German...

...what do you know about funny?

We've got a kid out back
with a bodyguard.

Move in. Keep it quiet.

Come on, can't a cute girl
just be a cute girl?

- Get in the car.
- Okay, chill.

God....

Once you get the boy, bring him out front.

- Get down.
- Oh, my God. What happened?

Stay down.

This was three hours ago.

A shooting at the Markridge
American School just outside Geneva.

No students hurt.
These dudes weren't so lucky.

One of them's ex-Gogol. They're both on
the Amanda henchmen roster.

A private school.

My father enrolled me
under an alias in school...

...to protect me from his competitors.

Witnesses say the shooter drove off with
a student, 15-year-old Thomas Hoffman.

You mean Stefan Tasarov.

Hey, what the hell is going on?
Who were those guys?

- Mercenaries.
- Mercenaries.

Why would mercenaries want to kill me?

This isn't about you.
It's about your father.

His name is Amon Krieg,
ex-German counter-intelligence, retired.

I hired him to protect my son
because he's the best.

Not how I plan on spending
my retirement...

- ...chaperoning someone else's kid.
- Krieg gave his life to his work.

He therefore had no life to retire to.

- Happens to the best of us.
- Let me get this straight.

You pay this guy to raise your son.
You have no way of getting in touch?

Yes. In case I was, say,
tortured by my enemies...

...in a secret underground bunker.

Since I got into this business,
I was a risk to my son.

It was safer I didn't know where he was,
that Krieg checked in with me.

So how did Amanda find him then?

- The gaming device.
- What?

- Give it to me. Give it to me.
- Why?

- You went online with it, didn't you?
- I have rankings to maintain.

I said never go online without a firewall.

- I--
- I warned you.

I thought it was one of your stupid rules.

You didn't tell me that going online would
bring a group of paid killers to my school.

You've been lying to me for two years.

Get in the car. Go on, get in the car.
We're leaving.

There is one more complication.

When I hired Krieg, I was running Gogol.

Division was at the top of the list
for potential threats.

- What are you saying?
- He won't know you're working with me.

He is going to kill anyone
that comes his way.

All right, ShadowBot is ShadowBotting.

Until we get a vector on Krieg,
finding Amanda's our best bet.

I like this.

Just the two of us
in an old, abandoned staging area.

Feels like old times, right?

No boys needing rescuing.
Well, maybe one.

There's always one.

Hey.

Are you okay?

Yeah. Just something Ari said.

- About his son?
- No, about Amanda.

He said that when I let her live,
it changed her.

The thing is, I wanted that.
I was praying for it.

You did what you thought was right.

You know that thing Amanda says
about the real us being hidden?

- There are two Alexes.
- Right.

I was hoping she was including herself
in that group.

That maybe there was a real Amanda
deep down that...

...would come out if I showed her mercy.

Maybe it did.
Maybe the real Amanda's worse.

Something's wrong.
Your father's account is empty.

You know what?
We don't need him or his money.

- I have some cash--
- You don't understand, Stefan.

Your schools, your housing,
your protection, it all costs money.

A lot of money.

My protection?
As in, you don't work for free.

You don't need to stick around.

Drop me off at a train station or something.
I'm not a kid. I can handle myself.

Right. Not a kid.

- Look, Stefan--
- It's cool.

We need to get off the road now.

- You got a mind of your own.
- Michael.

- What the hell, man?
- What is it now, Owen?

You send Nikita and Alex
to chase Amanda with no backup?

Why didn't you send me?

Because there's a chance
they'd run into Amanda.

The last time you ran into Amanda,
she was able to neutralize you...

- ...just by saying a name.
- No, not just a name.

Mine, my real name, Sam.

I need to know who I was
before Amanda wiped my memory.

Exactly. This is too personal for you.
You'd be distracted.

Let me talk to Ari. They were partners
in crime, he knows what she knows.

Too personal. Last time you saw Ari,
he stabbed you in the back.

- You might want revenge.
- I don't care.

I wanna know who I was
before she took that from me.

I don't even know why I'm asking you.
You're not even in charge. I'll ask Ryan.

Ryan's not here.

He's overseas trying to shore up
our funding.

Sean's with him for protection...

...or I'd send him to Switzerland
with Nikita and Alex.

Look, when this op is completed...

...I will try and schedule some time
for you to talk with Ari.

He's not going anywhere.

Where do you think Krieg's going?

He'll want some heat to pass.
Without money, he'll need to hole up cheap.

It's too cold to rough it outside.

- Especially with the boy. Motel?
- Close to the airport.

Let's start making some calls.
How's your French these days?

It's très bien. How's your German?

Got them. Chalet Tranquille,
30 rooms occupied.

Two paid cash.
One was a father and son.

Awesome.

Mr. Elliot, I knew it was only
a matter of time.

- Who am I?
- Are we going to play a game?

Yeah.

It's called Tell the Truth.
It's your turn and the clock's ticking.

How long do you think you have
before they check on me?

Enough for you to tell me who I was
before Amanda wiped my memory.

- I have no idea.
- If I don't get answers...

...I'm gonna make what Nikita did to you
look like a love tap.

Mr. Elliot, I understand your curiosity
about who you were.

Because who you are is
such a disappointment.

Oh, very well.

I believe Amanda said something
about you being...

...a soldier.

Krieg, my name's Nikita.
I'm here on behalf of Ari Tasarov.

I'm unarmed. Just here to talk.

Decoy room. He's watching us.

Psst.

Don't move.

- We're not here to hurt Stefan.
- Who do you work for?

Man who pays you.
I can get him on the phone.

Back inside.

Gotta get you out of here.

Now. Come on.

Witnesses say that it was a fight
on the second floor.

A man against two women.
He landed on that car.

Nikita and Alex.
Which means they now have Stefan.

They have a head start getting out
of the country.

No. They can't leave Geneva yet.

They have to get the boy papers
and a passport.

And we have to find their staging area.

All right, we're good.

We should go back for Krieg.
He could be hurt.

Krieg is ex-German special forces.

He's fine. He can take care of himself.

Guess you know more about him
than I do.

So, what now? You take me to my father?

- Don't sound so thrilled.
- I'm not.

My whole life I've been running
from the name Tasarov.

Believe it or not, I know how you feel.

Because you're a Udinov?

So tell me, if my father wanted
to rescue me...

...why isn't he here?

It's complicated.

Funny, that was the answer
he always gave me.

All right, Tasarov offspring is in the system,
passport ready.

Okay, I'll let Ari know his son is all right.
Patch me through to Interrogation.

No answer.

Really?

Let's start their exfil.

Division will have set up their operation
in a low-traffic area.

It's standard procedure.

A warehouse, an empty office space,
not far from the airport.

Birkhoff.

- What's up?
- Geneva police.

They're doing a sweep
of the warehouse district.

You were doing so well.

Do your job, noob,
and clear Nikita's site in advance. Hmm?

With Division, always follow the trail
of extreme competence.

That's where they are.

And that's all I know.

That's it? That's nothing.

I was stationed overseas where I committed
a crime that I was court-martialed for?

Where overseas? What crime?
Amanda said I killed all my friends.

- Maybe she was lying to you.
- Maybe you are.

- Tell me the truth, damn it. Tell me the truth.
- All right, all right.

Your real name was Samuel Erlichsson.

Owen.

You were part of a Special Operations team
sent on a secret mission...

...to recover technology from the wreckage
of a German U-boat...

...found frozen in the north polar ice cap.

Owen.

It was a five-man operation,
of which you were the only survivor.

Because what you discovered
on that submarine was not of this Earth.

- Owen, let him go.
- Wait, he's telling the truth.

No, I'm not. Could you come
and take him now, please?

What?

I told you the truth the first time.
I don't know who you were.

You wouldn't listen
so I made that story up to buy time.

Like Scheherazade.

By the way,
I learned how to make that fist.

Wheels up in an hour.

I thought I saw something.

Nikita.

Stay here and don't move!

Careful. I need the boy alive.

Stefan!

Go get him. I'll cover you.

Take them out and get the boy.

Stefan.

Hello there, little Tasarov.

- Target acquired.
- Good.

Exfil to the rendezvous point.
I'm on my way.

- They've got Stefan. They're driving out.
- Get after them and I'll catch up with you.

Damn it, I lost Stefan.

Nikita, do you read?

Nikita?

Ops, I'm tracking Nikita,
but she's not responding.

She's parked in an
industrial zone 10 miles from your staging area.

Hi. This is an interesting reunion.

Sorry about your face.

When I get these restraints off,
I'll even out the other side.

Thank God you came when you did,
she would have killed me.

Krieg, I understand what you're doing.
I do.

But you don't have to.
We're on the same side.

Is that why you threw me
off the balcony?

- Ouch.
- You attacked me.

No, I defended my charge.

You took him from me
and now I'm going to get him back.

She has Stefan. She has him now.

- Where?
- I don't know.

Because it's not true.

At first, you know, I thought
there was one team after Stefan.

Now it's clear there are two.

I'm not interested in your conflict.

All I care about is the boy
and one of you has him.

You can tell me
or I can make you tell me.

I can prove I'm working
with Stefan's father.

- Let me call him.
- Yeah. Heh.

So your people can trace our location
and I can talk to a man under duress? No.

- How many more are with you in Geneva?
- Just my partner, that's it.

She's lying. She has an entire organization
at her back.

But I saw you at the school.

And you had, what, five men?
Mercenaries, by the look of it.

Not exactly top of the line.

I suppose you were also trying
to protect the boy.

- Of course.
- You don't protect someone...

...by shooting at them.

Exactly. Krieg, let me go
and we'll make her take us to him.

- Do it now before her people move him.
- You'll be walking into a trap.

Your money has run out
because she's taken Ari prisoner.

- And the lies continue.
- I know things only Ari knows.

I know when he hired you.
He told me about Berlin.

Even what happened to your wife.

And I'm so sorry.

I would never disrespect her memory
but, please, you have to believe...

...I am telling the truth.

If Ari didn't trust me,
how could I know these things?

Let me help you. For your sake,
for Ari's and for Stefan's.

Uh, why don't we ask Ari?
I'll get him on the phone...

...and then he can tell you about
his friend here, Amanda, the sociopath.

Yeah.

You have 90 seconds before
any kind of trace can find us.

That's Nikki's code.

Nikita, where are you?

Krieg needs to talk to Ari.
He'll end this call in 80 seconds.

Route that call to my cell.

Wake him up. I said, wake him up.

- Thirty seconds, Michael.
- Tasarov, wake up.

- Michael.
- He's coming around.

There was a thing with Owen.

I'm out of time.

Krieg, I know you are listening to me.
Just give me one--

Oh, you-- !

If anything happens to Nikita,
I'm going to kill you.

There, you have your proof. Let me go.

The sooner you trust me, the sooner
we can use her to get the boy back.

Oh. There are other options.

Both of you are trying to convince me
you're telling the truth.

I just want to find Stefan.

You will only need so much.

The rest, I will take from you.

Piece by piece.

Birkhoff, I'm here. I don't see her.

You should be right on top of her.

Nikita's comm, but no Nikita.

- Krieg, you don't wanna do this.
- No, I truly don't.

- But I will.
- There are other ways.

You're right. This is one.

Ah.

Looks like someone found
the breadcrumb I left.

- Go ahead.
- Krieg? Where is Nikita?

That depends. Where's Stefan?

I have him, he's safe with me.

- Then if you have him, put him on.
- Let me talk to Nikita first.

Stay where you are, I'll meet you.
Then we'll discuss a trade.

- I wouldn't trust that one either.
- I don't.

She could have Stefan in a secure location.
Krieg, listen, don't make this about her.

- If she's lying, she's lying to help me.
- If she's lying, she dies.

It's too late. You'll never make it.

Yet I'll die trying. That's what you do
to save someone you care about.

You definitely wouldn't know.

What are you doing?

Just watch. You could learn a thing or two
when you leave your lair.

- Now, I need you to cut me.
- What?

Blood, it's basically salt water.

A conductor. It'll short the wire
and ignite the oil cans.

- You must be joking.
- I am not.

I can't do it alone, I need your help.

So dig deep, unless you want
to volunteer your own blood.

Oh.

Okay, I get it. The fire ignites the oil...

...the oil combusts, the explosion blows
the door then we get out of here?

No, I just started a fire.

Hopefully, someone will call
the fire department.

Hopefully? What if they don't get here
in time?

Then we both die a horrible death.

And in my book,
that's a "glass is half-full" scenario.

- We really need your help.
- Stefan?

- He was captured by one of Amanda's crew.
- Where the hell is Nikita?

Just please, focus on this.

Alex flagged these men
as Amanda's operatives in Geneva.

Heh. She's reduced her contingent.
Never could stretch a buck.

Do you recognize any of them?

This man, I know him.
Anatoli Oslov, ex-Gogol.

Do you remember his phone number?

Birkhoff, this guy's a no-show.

We got a new lead. Ari got us
the number of one of Amanda's flunkies.

We traced it.
I'm uploading the location to you now.

That'll be where they have Stefan.
Get the kid.

And make the trade. I'm on my way.

So this is how it ends.

Just like it began.

You and I didn't meet in a fire.

I'm not talking about you,
you solipsistic junkie.

Although I guess one version of Nikita
was born in the fire.

The rogue Nikita.

- When I saved Alex--
- And defied the people who made you.

Made me?

Amanda, you taught me skills.
I passed some of them on to Alex...

...but you didn't make me
any more than I made her.

You made her.

And like everything else you love,
she will turn against you.

Who made you, Amanda?

How did it begin?

I am so much worse
than all you bitches put together.

Tell me.

Tell me.

You think you're the only one
with daddy issues?

Pack up, we're leaving. Amanda's alive.
She says we're expecting company.

Where is she?

Alex, we have Nikita on the line.

- Alex, Krieg is on his way.
- He's here with me.

Look, Amanda got free too.

Don't know where she is. You have to find
Stefan before she moves him.

- Okay. What about Krieg?
- We have Ari here. They should talk.

Call the number I gave you.

Amon, it's Ari. They're telling the truth.
Trust them as far as Stefan is concerned.

The question is, can I trust you,
my old friend?

No one is holding a gun to my head.
I'm worried.

The woman who's with you
should be able to help.

Get him back, Amon. Keep him safe.

I will.

Enough nonsense.
Let's get the boy back, yes?

Yes.

Cutting it close, yeah?

Had to make a call.

- What's she doing here?
- It's a long story.

No, it's okay. I'm all right.

We have to go. More will be coming.

Come on.

It's a dead end.

Take the tunnel. It'll lead outside.
I'll tell Nikita to meet you there.

- What about you?
- I called the police.

- Go.
- Hey. Thank you.

Thank him.

Nikita? They're coming your way,
out of the northwest maintenance tunnel.

- Got it. Can you hold out?
- Police are on their way.

- Good call.
- Learned from the best.

Alex is okay, Nikki.
She's been taken into custody.

Good.

You took a bullet for me.

- Yeah. That's my job, remember?
- Yeah, it's a terrible job.

Beats retirement.

I am very sorry about the confusion.

- I did throw you off a balcony.
- Yeah. That didn't help.

Your plan for the boy,
it wasn't to take him to his father, was it?

We hadn't figured that out yet.

Your father's going to prison
for a very long time.

Now that Stefan has new papers,
I have some ideas on where to go.

But all of this is not up to me.

I think it's time for Stefan to decide
what happens.

It is, after all, his life.

Well, it's yours too.

You sure you don't want to retire
on a beach...

- ...surrounded by naked women?
- Yeah, maybe when you're in college.

Look who found his sense of humor.

- There would be some ground rules.
- I don't doubt it.

In matters of security,
I have the final word.

That's non-negotiable. No arguing.

After the past couple days, that's cool by me.

We could patch you through
to say goodbye.

Thank you for saving my son.

- Nikita?
- She's all right.

We're getting her out of Geneva now.

I'm sorry.

This whole Amanda thing, it's just it...

- ...got the best of me, you know?
- Save it.

From here on out,
you're off of active duty.

- Till when?
- Until I say so.

I've been there too.

You protect someone
out of a sense of duty...

...and then when it becomes more...

...it really surprises you.

All right, Birkhoff, let's go and get Alex.

Locking up extradition orders now.

We may intercept her
before we gotta pay bail.

Looks like I'm not leaving Geneva
empty-handed after all.

Let's see how well she taught you.
