Nieuwe Buren (2014–…): Season 1, Episode 9 - Episode #1.9 - full transcript

Now Peet knows Eva expects Steef's baby, he makes an abortion clinic appointment and takes her there. Steef has to pick up his rascals-abused illegitimate son Daan, takes him home, causing another big row with Rebecca although Sem accepts the boy easily, and presents him to Eva, as proof that another kid with such genetic disposition for Down syndrome is not an option. The police gets drug baron Scotty to spills the beans, leading to a search in Steef's home and his arrest. Rebecca finds out how Jasper and Lilly spied, compromised and ruined her, exposes them publicly as reputation-wreckers and sabotages Lilly's lift on the way out.

We're pregnant.

Oh, Pete. I'm so happy.

Whose child is this?
- Mine and Pete's.

I was devastated that the rubber tore.

Why don't you start by being honest?
Honest to Peter, honest to everyone.

That man has another child.
- Something is wrong with that child.

It's so sad. It's spastic.

Are you a whore?
- What did you say?

You're on the internet.

We've been hacked, someone is out
to screw us and they succeeded.

I know a lot about you
and you know nothing about me.

Do I know you?
- Scottie wants money.

When you're banged up,
who'll look after your retard son?

Where are they?
- I don't know.

I know everything.

NEW NEIGHBORS

He was so...

confused.

He was so messed up.

I've never met anyone who is so...

sincere and...

gentle.

You know what?
I think his wife destroyed him.

The previous day

Thou shalt not bear false witness.

Honor thy father and thy mother.
- You've brought ruin upon us.

It's awful.
- It's the devil.

What have you done to us?

Honor thy father and thy mother.

The devil has planted his seed in you.
- It's awful.

Did you sleep well?

Would you like an egg?

Hard or soft-boiled?

Or sunny side up?

Peter?
- Never mind.

I'll boil you an egg.

Sit down.

I've made an appointment
with an abortion clinic.

They're expecting us at 2 PM.

It's important you don't urinate
before the ultrasound.

Hi André, it's Steve, narcotics.
I have a job for you.

You need to trace someone for me.

There are no such things as free
lunches? Tell me about it.

Yes, I'll send you the number in a bit.
It's urgent, okay?

Buddy, everything okay?

Hangover?

What's up with you, man? Pete?

Sem.

Steve?

I hadn't got round to congratulating you.

Thanks.
- Terrific.

You never told Peter did you?
About the rubber?

He doesn't want to talk about it?
No, you don't want to talk about it.

Can we please do this later?
- No, now.

Is it mine?

Is it mine?

It is mine, isn't it?
Goddamn it.

Get rid of it.

Did you hear me, Eva?

You have no idea
what you're getting into.

This child...

this child is not going to be born.

I was very proud of you yesterday.

Really, very proud.

You must do your speech exercises
more often, you're getting nowhere.

What's your offer?

Offer for what?

If I talk, am I a free man tonight?

Maybe.

Depends what you have to say.

Idiot. What do you think?
I'm not saying a word.

First, I want a deal.
- That's not up to me but the prosecutor.

Can I call him?

Do you have his number?

Or her number? Even better.

Have you got a moment, Steve?

What?
- Scottie wants to talk.

That's good news.

Finally.
- Steve?

She's at a camp site.

Hi, did you have a good work-out?

What would you like to drink?
- A mint tea.

No, I'll come and pick him up.

I'm glad you called,
kids who are ill belong in bed.

I'm on my way, bye.

I'll take a rain check on that tea.
See you next time.

Moron.
- Cretin.

Imbecile.
- Stop it.

Stop it, I said stop it.
- Let go of me.

Stop.
- You little bastard.

Scram, scram.

Daan, Daan, are you all right?

Come on, sit up.

One, two.

Snuggle down nice and comfy.

How is your tummy now?
Does it still hurt?

Or did you just fancy a day at home?

Did they say mean things again?

Too bad about your tummy.
I was going to make tiny pancakes.

We'll have to do it another day.
- I could manage one tiny pancake.

So, shall I make one or twelve?
- Twelve.

Coming right up, Sem.

Do we have an appointment?

Rebecca, come back.

Rebecca, come down here.

Rebecca.

Rebecca.
- Rebecca.

Come down here, that's an order.

I'm calling the police.
- Hurry up.

Hurry up. Rebecca?
- Rebecca, I'm coming up.

Rebecca, you have to
come downstairs.

What the fuck?
- Rebecca.

Leave that thing here.
Jasper, stop her.

That computer isn't...
- Pervert.

Rebecca, give it back.

Rebecca, come back.

Daan, where is mommy?

Café.

Big man, you're coming with me.

Come on.

It doesn't have to change anything.
Do you understand, Pete?

It will always be our child.

I understand that you're angry
or that you might even hate me.

But it's still possible,
once the anger dies down.

And if the child is healthy.

As long as we believe in it, Peter.

Pete? Peter?
- Eva van der Leek.

We're up.

These are standard examinations.
Could you hold this, please?

Blood, blood pressure, heartbeat,
the usual.

Later we'll make an ultrasound
to see how far you are...

and to check it's not
an ectopic pregnancy.

When we have the results, we'll decide
on the best continuation treatment.

Shall we?

Please, lie down.

Open your pants, please.

I'll go to the front desk and queue up.
See you later.

The gel may feel a bit cold.
- I know.

Is everything okay?
- Can you see whether it's healthy?

Or whether anything is wrong?

At a first glance, it looks fine.

Do you want to see it?

It's nine weeks old.

It's my child.

You can clean up now.

It's none of my business but...

only you can decide whether
you terminate the pregnancy.

Nobody else is allowed to decide
for you. Do you understand?

You have two more days
to think about it.

Switch the power back on.

Put the power back on.

What are you doing? It's in the corner.
- I know but I need this stick.

What stick?
- This one, I can't reach otherwise.

Come on.

No, no, nothing.

No, no, nothing is happening.

Well done.
- Does it work?

It works, yes, come here.
- Does it work?

Yes, it works, yes.
You found the right one.

Yes, come on, come on.

Oh, Jasper.

Oh boy, well done.
That was so good.

Awesome, really.

Two more days
and it'll all be over.

And we'll never mention it again.

An error, a mistake.

Steve and Rebecca aren't real friends.

They're manipulative, they...

We're never seeing them again, Eve.

Perhaps we should move.
- I want to be by myself.

He kicked the ball from the midfield,
over the goalie and into the goal.

Eva?

I want to introduce someone.

This is Daan.

Daan, shake hands with Eva.
- Hello, Daan.

I have to go, inside.
- Daan is my son.

It's hereditary.

It's a genetics thing. My grandmother
had it and so did my brother.

You don't want a life like this.
No way.

I was ashamed of my brother,
of how he dribbled, of how he walked.

The kids at school didn't like me and
I blamed him, I hated him, I hated him.

They put him away, in a home.
You don't want this, you really don't.

I want to go in, Steve.
- Do you know how it feels?

Never sleeping in your own bed again?
Do you have any idea? Well?

This child can't be allowed to be born.

I've had it removed.

Really?

Sorry, I'm so sorry.
- Steve.

What's wrong with you?

Sem, this is Daan.
Why don't you show Daan your cars?

You should have told me straightaway.

I might have accepted it.

But not now.

Too late.

It's too late.

I'll do it for you.

How long is he staying for?

We'll see.

Things need to calm down, first.

Pregnant,
after the most exciting sex ever.

I'm coming.

Eva and Steve

Hello, Brechtje.
- Where are you? Guess who's here.

I'm on my way.

Do you mean we must take revenge?
Must everything be destroyed?

What are you on about?
- Eva wants Steve.

My best isn't good enough.
I play it all day, every day.

They're just words.

What they mean, they mean to you.
That's the great thing about music.

What you feel, is what it is.
- No, you mean...

I'm sure you're a cool dude.
Thanks for the click with my lyrics.

And my music, but it's not about you.

What you feel through my lyrics,
is all in you, here.

Don't lose it, man.
Keep it together.

Peter.

I thought that I'd never see you again.

Don't.

Don't regret it.
Let yourself go.

Peter?
Peter, what's the matter?

What's the matter? Peter?

What, is it Eva again?
Again? Is she?

Come on.

We'll cheer you up, again.

They're asking you to come in.

Are you leaving me?

You lied to me.

It was just one silly time.

Daan is older than Sem.

He calls you daddy.

For years, you've visited him,
what, once, twice a week?

It's not one silly time.
It's years of lies.

What's the next thing?

What else are you hiding from me?
- Nothing.

Honestly.

This is all.

I know that it's more than enough
to leave me.

But I swear to you...

Rebecca, you'll never meet anyone
who loves you as much as I do, again.

Becky?

I'm sorry.

Come on, sweetheart.

I'll be back by tomorrow, Becky.

Well, really. First, it's the porno photos
and now he's arrested.

Don't you walk away.
Yes, I'm talking to you, Lilly.

And you, Jasper.

Is this what you wanted?

Is that why you spread
all those rumors?

Is it?
To ruin us.

Well, you've succeeded.

I hope you're proud of yourselves.

You have no idea of what
these two people are capable of.

They are the ones who posted
those photos of me on the internet.

They spread lies about me...

just as long until my son here,
asked me whether I was a whore.

And why?

I really want to know and I think
the other people here would too.

Because next time, their telescope
behind the window there...

might be pointed at you.

Why?

The party is over.

Shall we go?

You can stay at my place.

Why don't we just sell the house?

And buy something smaller.

Something on the ground floor.

Downtown.

In Amersfoort.

We can forget about cycling, after all.

I've had enough of this neighborhood.
- Yes.

Haven't you?
- Yes.

And if you live downtown
or close to it...

nobody pays any attention to you.

That sounds lovely.

That's right, lovely.

I'm in Ginkelduin
and you know what?

My child was conceived here.
- Steve got Eva pregnant.

He has a gun.
- Eva is mine, I'm going to get her.

Becky, we're leaving.
He's freaking out and he has a gun.

If you rat, you've got a problem.

Steve Blok is dead, fucking dead.

I have to do this by myself.
- You will come back, won't you?
