the rest of the transplant team.

Assuming everything looks good,

they'll harvest the liver

can try and fix the problem.

Only one of those is going
to make a marriage stronger.

How much time you spend on this thing?

So what does that mean?

Well, it means that we need
to figure out what's causing it

so that the surgical team
can determine how to proceed.

Look, I feel fine, okay? Absolutely fine.

Well, the fever says that you're not.

If it's something relatively manageable,

they'll likely move forward.

Maddie: Wait... he may not get the surgery?

Well, if it's more serious, like pneumonia,

then we run the risk of your
body rejecting the liver,

and they won't operate if that's the case.

So we're gonna run a few tests now,

okay, and we're gonna
get to the bottom of this.

Rayna: I know they're about to go
into surgery on the patient in Ohio.

What if we don't have
these results by then?

Well, then, the liver
goes to the next recipient

on the transplant list.
