Nashville (2012–2018): Season 2, Episode 19 - Crazy - full transcript

Maddie's news goes viral and stirs a media frenzy including being a "Hot Topic" on "The View," and the real-life ladies of "The View"--Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy and Barbara Walters guest-star as themselves. Rayna tries to manage the fallout by going on "Good Morning America" and real-life anchor Robin Roberts guest stars as herself. When Juliette faces more empty seats on her tour, she reaches out to Charlie Wentworth (Charlie Bewley) for a favor, and Scarlett's mother, Beverly (Dana Wheeler-Nicolson), surprises her daughter in San Francisco, but things do not go well.

Previously on Nashville...

I love you.

It didn't mean anything.

I'm so happy that you
agreed to open for Juliette.

Win back those fans
and those radio stations

one city at a time.

Luke: I knew as soon as I heard it

it was gonna be a hit single. Cheers.

Have you ever worked as
a backup singer before?

This is a recording of my church solo.

- Maddie Claybourne.
- What?

Now I understand why Deacon always
seems to be in the middle of it.

It was a terrible, awful mistake.

What was a mistake?

We're done. Do you get that?

Where are you going?

You don't get to know that anymore, okay?!

[Sighs]

Hey.

Hey.

[Sighs] How you doin'?

Listen, I-I know what I said
about needing time and all that,

but I shouldn't have reacted
the way I did, and I'm sorry.

Man, it got crazy last night.

[Chuckling] Yeah.

The thing is...

[Sighs] I got a sore spot
when it comes to Deacon.

You do?

Yeah, it goes way back.

You remember the '92 Oklahoma state fair?

- Yeah, you know I do.
- Yeah.

Two of us stuck up on the
top of that Ferris wheel...

best seats in the house
for the George Strait show.

Yeah, but before that.

Before we hit the midway,

you know, we were still
a bunch of nobodies,

had to play that tent
outside the livestock,

and you were about to start your set,

but couldn't find Deacon anywhere.

And you sat in for him.

- Yeah.
- I remember.

Never could understand how you
put up with it all those years...

the way he treated you,
the way he disappeared.

Anyway...

You were still pretty torn
up about it after your set,

so I thought, you know, "maybe this is it.

"Maybe...

This is the night she finally... Sees me."

But even alone together on top
of the world in that Ferris wheel

with George Strait
singing "Cross my Heart,"

all you could talk about was Deacon.

That's how it was back then.

But we're here now, right?

Mm-hmm.

- And I'm damn happy about it.
- Me too.

[Cellphone rings, vibrates]

- Oh, this is Bucky. I should probably...
- No.

Hey.

That's impossible.

It told her to take it
down, and she said she did.

Well, it's really none of our business

who this girl's father is, is it?

Shepherd: Oh, wake up, Barbara.

You say that, but you got
to know how people are.

Everybody loves a dirty, little secret,

and this girl is a love child.

Oh, God, really? A love child?

Jenny, listen, her mom is Rayna Jaymes,

and then her father is
supposedly the mayor of Nashville,

but then she posted a video

using her mom's old boyfriend's last name.

Hello?

Goldberg: Excuse me.
With all of the skeletons

in each and every one of our own closets,

we probably should not
be talking about that.

How about we just show the
people what this girl can do

and let it speak for itself?

Can you run the video, please?
