Scorching heat punishes Suzanne as she goes it alone. Plus, a potential snake attack could be Seth's first African food win and Bulent takes on a lizard.

Jon: It's a puff adder,
a venomous snake.

between seth and suzanne.
I feel very trapped.

I'm willing to basically
self-banish to get out.

well, in one sense,
this is really bad.
'cause now I have to do
everything by myself.
In another sense,
I'm quite used to being alone,
but not in this environment.
The good news is...
...I don't hear anybody
bitching and complaining.
This wonderful find is what's
going to save my feet today.
Narrator: With injured feet
and a malnourished body,
suzanne faces a blistering
three-mile trek
to the nearest waterhole.
Hike's going to be hard,
I know that, but it's worth it.
I'm shooting blind here.
I could be walking to what
used to be a watering hole,
and it's just dried mud.
But if it's seth or death,
I'm not choosing seth.
Narrator: Three miles away,
bulent's solo success
has made him king of the castle.
Department store quality.
Narrator: But his most
precious resource is dwindling.
Hey, stop drinking my [bleep]

Early in the morning,
it's just getting hot.
I have to boil some water.
Hydrate.
There's a carcass.
Hopefully there's something
on it that I can use.
Mm. There's nothing much
left of this guy.
There's some skin left.
It is hard as a rock.
I can soak it in water,
get it softer,
make some shoes with it.
It'll be super useful trying
to navigate through this desert.
I'll give it a go.
I'll give it a try.
If it works, wonderful.
I'm gonna take this entire
piece, soak it in the water
to see if I can make
it work somehow.
And that's the catch of today.

I am losing so much water
in this hole every day.
It's starting to become
a serious concern.
In three or four days,
the water is going to be
so muddy I won't be able
to extract any water from it.
I actually thrive on this place.
It's a great place that suited
me and my skills tremendously.
But without water,
there's no life.
I'm going to have
to leave this place.
So I need to hydrate this hide.
I know the way to do it
is to leave it in the water
for at least 24 to 48 hours.
So I'm gonna leave it
in this little part
and hope that
it'll be there tomorrow.

a depleted wes and gwen
were desperate for food...
Hello! When ryan arrived
on a hunting visit.
Good to see you, man.
This dude reeks of survivalism.
Narrator: But it was wes's arrow
that finally hit its mark.
Ryan: Here there's a chance
to kill big game every day.
I mean, there's more food coming
here than you can ever eat.
Aw, yeah. It's looking
pretty dang good right there.
We're basically turning it
into a stew.
Cook all day without going bad.
Ryan:
I'm feeling good, man. We're
eating well, drinking well,
but my tribe at the other camp
may be worried.
I'm sure they are
worried, actually.
'cause I should have
been back by now.
I plan on going back
and asking my team if they want
to come and join here.
This camp,
everywhere there's wild game.
So, you know, the opportunities
are endless.
That's an awesome drying rack.

Hate to say it, but
I'm feeling spoiled now.

I just keep indiscriminately
eating.

There's something I wanted
to talk to you guys about.
'cause they're really hard
workers, they're good teammates,
good team players, you know.
And I think if we can continue
to do exactly what you done,
this will be a place that'd be
worthy of coming
and redoing the boma,
building our's separate,
that way we ain't messing
y'all's up or anything.

I mean, that's what I most
certainly would do.
The way I see it is
all three of us
went hunting morning.
And you are a welcome
addition to this camp.

So it looks like we may end up
with three more in our group
and have a party of five.
More hands that
you have around camp,
the less work that anybody
has to do.
If we can spread out and get
more hunters on the ground
in different blinds,
we increase our odds of protein.
But if they bring
a bunch of drama,
wes and I are going
to banish ourselves.
We're going to send you back
with some smoked meats
so that you can show your
partners what is up here.

tell them good stuff over here.

ryan's teammates scored
a small meal of their own.

Jon: Killed a venomous snake
with a stick in africa.
So that's pretty awesome.
Narrator: But surviving as
a duo is proving difficult.
I want to start
gathering some firewood.
Yeah. Awesome.
Sarah: We still don't know
where ryan is.
I'm starting to get
pretty worried about him.
On top of that, we're also
contending with dehydration.
I have half a mind to go
set up a little line down there.
But I do not like
that croc being there.
Two crocs, though. Holy [bleep]
the crocodiles are becoming
more bold.
I think that they are just,
you know, growing accustomed
to the fact that we're here.
Wanna just chuck some
rocks at him?

Maybe if we actually
peg one in the face
they'll leave us alone.
They are getting ballsy,

They've been seeing us as prey
since we got here,

keeping their distance.

of not even making it anywhere
just 'cause I needed out.

hopeful that maybe you guys
will let me have
a bit of a home with you.
I mean, obviously, you know,
try it out for a few days,
see how we all get along.
Sarah: First impressions
of suzanne is that
she has definitely
had some issues
and she's coming in here
obviously not wanting to bring
that baggage along.
But I would really like
to be able to get
to know her a little better,
understand more about
who she is as a survivalist,
and essentially just understand
that she's not going
to be the kind of person
that's going to bring us down.
But, you know, we'll
see how it goes.
I have a lot of skills to share.

It's kind of a weird feeling,
but it's back to
just me and you.
I know. It's funny
how quickly you get used
to something.

Gwen: Ryan took off today,
he's heading back to his team.
He's going to see
if he can sway them
to come to our location,
which is fine.
But we weren't anticipating
a third party.
So in the meantime,
wes and I are rationing
our jerky really well.
Wes: I might have like maybe
two or three pieces
of jerky for lunch.
Mm-hmm.
And I'm done for the day.
This has got to sustain us.
We got to take care of ourselves
before we can take care
of everybody else.
Yeah, you're absolutely right.
Once we have more people
show up, we need to make sure
that we have enough
for ourselves.
Or we won't be around to help.

Jon: You'll see, if you guys
go fishing together later,
the biggest crocodile in there,
it's about 12 feet long.

My new tribe family is teaching
me the environment here.
And how close we are
to all of this danger.

We didn't have crocodiles

off, that can be deadly.

Those crocs already
have it in for me.
I'm being very, very mindful
to not be my usual self
and fall off the rock
into the water.

Sarah: Adding suzanne
to the crew for now
has been going along
pretty well.
But at the same time,
ryan has been gone
for three full days now.
We still have no idea
where he is,
what condition he's in.
We don't even know if he's safe.
So it's kind of a stressful
situation at this point.
There's literally
nothing that we can do.
And it feels pretty [bleep]
that we can't do anything
to help our friend.

Seth: First night alone was, uh,
it was a bunch
of elephants in the water.
It was a dangerous situation.
I need to go find some firewood,
check myself if they were
to decide to come back.
I have to get water.
That's what I'm doing.
Since suzanne left, all the
workload of everything is on me.
If something needs to be done,
I have to do it.
It is a full-time job
for one person.
And on top of that,
I have not eaten.
Exert more energy than
I got to do this here.
This challenge is brutal,
even with a partner.
But this is a death sentence
to be alone out here.
I keep burning myself out.
Screw it. I need to take a nap.

Bulent: It's time to go to
waterhole, check my hide
for my shoes
for the upcoming move.

My hide that was completely
submerged underwater
now is completely almost dry.
I am losing so much water
in this hole every day.

now that it opened up,
we'll see how much
material we have.
I think I got enough
for two shoes,
at least some kind of
a protection from the thorns.
That's good enough for me.

there's a lizard.
It's a big-ass lizard.
He's trying to move.

I was able to pin him down
before he takes off
because they can run super fast.
The tail is still moving.

this rock monitor lizard
will provide bulent with
almost two pounds of protein.
Bulent: Bulent the barehanded
killer is still in the action,
is still taking every
single opportunity to kill.
And we keep pushing.

I really need to get some food.
Without a significant source
of something to eat,
I'm going to be in trouble
here pretty soon.
I have not eaten in 11 days.
My body will start to give up
if I am not able to give it
the sustenance that it needs.

A little disappointing to see
all those animals out there,
very large herds,
and just couldn't get
within range of any of them.
And that is... that's
bow hunting for you.

the sun is relentless.
I never processed a lizard
before, but I need the skin.
The skin is so tough.
I'm pulling, I'm pushing
and trying to cut.
I'm gonna try to use every bit
of this animal as I can,
the meat, the organs,
the skin, everything.
And I know there's
a piece missing in my shoes
that I can use
the lizard skin for,
so it can be fashionable
and functional at the same time.

So this is the kill.
Majority of the meat
is in the shoulders
and legs and the tail.
I want to preserve it
so I can take it with me
when I do take
that long journey.
So I'm gonna experiment
on making lizard jerky.
The plan is to hang it where
the smoke going to hit him.
Here we go. And we are set.
So now I'm working on my shoes.
Shoe number one.
That is just plenty
room to slip up.
Put a hole there.
Put another hole here.
Tie them up.
I think it'll be good as gold.
I'm using my fish hook
and my knife
to punch some holes in it.
I'm braiding three line fishing
line to go through the hole
so I can secure
the hide on my feet.
That should be plenty.
I'm also using the lizard skin
on top as a band.
Just in case the fishing line
starts cutting my skin.
I put these straws in here
so I won't lose the location
of the hole
because I'm going through
two layers of skin.
There we go.
It's actually quite good.

Suzanne is new.
She wants to work.
And that's all you can ask for.
Extra hands are good
in situations like this.
As of now,
she seems like a good asset.
But ryan left
and he's taking longer
than he said
he was going to take.

that kind of stress in our camp.

Suzanne: I haven't met him
as part of the tribe,
but my my heart knows
part of the tribe is missing.

from 21 day challenge.
She's not lazy.
She's a great benefit
to our team.

Animals come up to camp there
because water bubbles
out of the ground.
Really? Well, there's a little
puddle like a little koi pond.
So they're drinking water
right out the ground, though?

It's great hunting over there.
This is a klipspringer.
Hunting sucks here,

there's hunting everywhere.
Food is plentiful.

craving this right now.

As soon as I got
that first bite in my mouth,
my body is just like, "more!"
I think that doing the move
to the next camp
where they actually
have a proper spring
is essentially inevitable
at this point.

I think it's a pretty
unanimous thing.

Ryan: I tell everybody else,
the rest of the tribe,
about the great things that
lie over the mountain range.
But wes and gwen think I'm only
bringing sarah and jon back,
so I hope they're okay
with one more person.

It's one thing to see a snake
and it's another thing
to not know where it went.
The problem with snakes
is they can go through
damn near anything.

but I want this thing out
of my frickin' boma.

bush snake is harmless,
but often mistaken

in 11 days
and I've never eaten
snake before.
So this is a win-win.
I'm going to get to try snake
and I can sleep better tonight.

Here goes nothing.
It does taste a little bit
like fish,
it tastes a little
bit like frog,
maybe a little bit
like gator too.
Which I love gator, so.
It does have
its own unique flavor.
Today was day 11
without eating anything,
so I'm super pumped
to have this snake.
Huge morale booster.

'cause I got him
out of the boma, too
and I get to eat him.
Today is my re-birthday.

First lights of travel day.
I don't want
to leave this place,
but survival, I've got to do
what I have to do to survive.
So I'm taking my jerky
and I'm taking my blade.
I kept this fire for 20 days,
so I'm gonna transport
some ember with it
because I'm gonna need
a fire where I go.
And I did my best to hydrate
as much as I can
because I don't know anything
about this journey,
what it can bring,
what it could take out of me.
So I was trying to get ready
as much as I can.
This isn't an end of an era.
This is just the beginning
of the next chapter.

We are relocating.
We are headed off
to the camp with gwen and wes
and looking forward to having
some cold running water.
Lot of potential food sources.
However, getting there
is going to be
a very difficult process.
It's a long hike. It's across
a lot of very difficult terrain.
I am feeling the effects
of dehydration from the heat.
It does have me
a little concerned.
Yep. You sure you're not gonna
miss this muddy swamp water?

We're all excited and nervous
about it.
It's a long journey
and we only have about
four hours to make it
or the heat's going
to get really bad.

This place is a high desert.
So it's been a drought
for seven days.
If these animals
are going anywhere,
it's gonna be a water source.

their trail and find the water.

The girls are having problems
with their feet
and moving a lot slower.
The ground is getting hotter
by the second.
So for every moment we're
waiting for them, it gets worse.

there's no coming back from it.

Feel like I'm
holding you guys up.

Wes and gwen have
a healthy reserve of protein
but face an uncertain future.
Gwen: Once we have more people
show up, we need to make sure
that we have enough
for ourselves.

After suzanne's arrival

I found wes and I found gwen.
Jon: What's that camp doing?

There's no shade,
there's no water.
It is dangerous because it gets
hotter the longer we take,

the lizard skin for,
so it can be fashionable

and legs and the tail.
I want to preserve it
so I can take it with me

on making lizard jerky.
The plan is to hang it where
