Nailed It! (2018–…): Season 5, Episode 6 - Can't Believe It's Cake! - full transcript

From splashy cereal-bowl cakes to towering hamburgers with fries, these attempts at hyperrealistic treats are so bad, you won't believe your eyes.

[theme music playing]

Is it cake or not cake?
That is the question.

But this is Nailed It!,
the competition show

where everything actually is cake.

Even I'm made of cake!

[eerie music plays]

I'm your cake, Nicole Byer.

This is the show where our cakes
will have you saying, "How they do that?"

But you end up saying, "Why they do that?"

We see you trying our challenges
at home with your buddies.

So we thought, "Why don't we bring
the team spirit here for real?"

Now let's kick off the double trouble
as three teams of true friends

will attempt to recreate professional
desserts that are so hyperrealistic

they'll have you be doing,
ooh, a double take!

All this for a chance
to win 10,000 American dollars.

Let's meet our bakers!

-I'm Susan.
-I'm Chrissy.

We've been best friends
for the last 13 years.

-We have baked together.
-[Chrissy] We work great as a team.

[Susan] We do. And we watch the show
together all the time.

This is
like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

And to be doing it with her
is even better.

We are the winning combination.

-I'm Logan.
-I'm Caitlynn.

[Logan] We've been best friends
since we were five years old.

[both] And we're gonna do okay.

Oh, that was off.

[Logan laughs]

I low-key feel like
we are the winning combination

because of Caitlynn.

Like, if I were by myself, I'd be like,

"I don't know.
We're just here for a good time."

But anything she bakes, like,
normally tastes really good.

-My name is Toni.
-My name is Omefa.

-And we're here to win!
-Win! Whoo!

[both giggling]

[Omefa] Toni and I met in the military.
We served in the Coast Guard.

Especially being female engineers,
we definitely bonded over that.

Every time we're together,
we just laugh so much.

Just her giggling makes me giggle.

-And when she giggles, I giggle.
-[both giggling]

-[Omefa] Okay, no more giggling.
-No more giggling.

All right, baker teams, please give
a welcome to our too-good-to-be-true...

[both giggling]

-Wow. Real giggly over there.
-[man] Yeah.

Please welcome our too-good-to-be-true
expert pastry chef and chocolatier.

-It's Jacques Torres.
-Merci, Nicole.

[contestants cheering, applauding]

[Jacques] Thank you. I'm so excited.

Those cakes going to look amazing.

Oh, Jacques, let's get real.

-I don't think they will be.
-[all laugh]

But you wanna know who's always
keeping it real? It's rapper A$AP Ferg!

[all cheering, applauding]

Let's get these cakes popping.

Well, baker teams,
today is all about faking you guys out.

So, let's get to our first challenge,
Baker's Choice.

You'll be so fooled by these cakes
that instead of a fork,

you might wanna grab a spoon
when you make these...

-Oh my...
-[both giggling]

[Nicole] Sloshing cereal bowl cakes!

What?

[Nicole] Look at
those naughty little cereal bowls

tottering around all playful and giddy.

-Looks like the got into the milk again.
-[both chuckle]

Each cake has a different cereal flavor.

Cinnamon, marshmallow, or honey nut.

Inside, there is a surprise cereal center
waiting to be uncovered.

[Nicole] Wow! I cannot believe
you just had that cake there.

[women giggling]

[Nicole] Chrissy and Susan,
which one will you choose?

Will it be Cinny, Marshy, or Honey?

We are gonna do Marshy.

All right. Caitlynn and Logan?

-We'll go with the cinnamony.
-[Nicole] Okay.

That means, Toni and Omefa,
you are stuck with honey nut.

So you didn't really
get to choose anything. Sorry!

Teams, you have 45 minutes.

-And it starts now.
-[Klaxon buzzes]

-So I would go bake. Yes, go! Go! Go!
-[clapping]

-"Half a cup of honey."
-All right, get the honey.

-We got this, Susan.
-We got it.

How long should I microwave it for?

-Like, 30 seconds?
-[Caitlynn] Yes.

All right, Jacques. How would you make
these sloshing cereal bowl cakes?

[Jacques] Each team has two bakers.

So one can make the cake,

making sure to add the marshmallow,
honey, or cinnamon flavor.

The other baker can start
on the decoration, making the feet, face,

and cereal pieces
out of modeling chocolate and fondant.

When the cakes are cool,

they can begin to stack and carve
their cake into the bowl shape.

Together, they can cut a hole
in the middle

to fill with real cereal pieces

before finally covering in fondant
and adding all their decoration

that make this cake come alive.

There is a lot of work, so the bakers
really have to divide the work

-and be organized.
-Mm-hmm.

"Mix all the wet ingredients in the bowl."

So, I am going to need
red, yellow, black fondant.

I have the cakes,
she's got the decorations.

Susan is super creative.

I'm very bad at measuring.

[Chrissy] I know
the basics of baking pretty well.

The marshmallow flavor.

I will be
a worker bee-slash-creative person.

[Chrissy] The pans.
I need the pans prepped.

Three of these.

But I think there has to be somebody
in the lead, and that'll be her.

Susan, what is this you're doing
right now?

[Susan] It's fondant.

I am trying to make it as soft as possible
by rolling it around in my hands.

It looks like Play-Doh.

I may have grabbed
the Play-Doh by mistake.

[laughs]

-How much cinnamon does it say?
-Whatever. That's enough.

She's starting with the batter.
I'm melting the butter.

We're working together.

And when I say "working together,"
it means "listen to Caitlynn." [laughs]

Okay, put that in there.

-I got you.
-[Caitlynn] You're the best!

I feel like I'm sort of a visionary,

so I can sort of envision
how I want the cake to look.

Oh my God. I'm dripping
this cake batter everywhere.

-[gasps]
-No prob.

-[Logan] This looks like a full sheet.
-[Caitlynn] We'll just cut it.

[Jacques] That cake is going
to take forever to bake.

They should use multiple
smaller cake pans so they bake faster.

You know, everybody has a choice to make,
and they may have made the wrong choice.

[laughs]

[Omefa] All right, working on the honey.
I'm getting all the wet stuff together.

[Toni] Surprised I'm not getting
any egg shells in here.

[both giggling]

In the Coast Guard, we had
these maintenance procedure cards.

And they tell you step-by-step
how to complete a job,

so we're gonna treat
the recipes like an MPC card.

-[Omefa] I'm mixing. How's it going?
-[Toni] Here we go.

We're trying to win this for our shipmates

since we're the first active-duty people
to do this,

so there's a lot on our shoulders.

-Holy crap! [chuckles]
-What?

That looks too thick.

It looks too thick?
I mean, we put everything in there.

-She over there making cornbread.
-[both laugh]

I wonder
if she put the water or not in it.

-Dude, can you open this up...
-Oh, we forgot the water!

Okay. All right.

Twenty-four minutes remain!

-[Omefa] You having fun? [giggles]
-So much.

[Omefa] Okay,
this looks more like it. [laughs]

[Jacques] That bowl is even worse
than Caitlynn and Logan's pan.

It's too deep,
never going to be baked on time.

We're gonna get cake soup.

-[Logan] Should I put this in the middle?
-[Caitlynn] Yes.

Okay, Chrissy. This is done.

[Chrissy] All right, it's in.

Wait, I want Jacques to rap.
Uh, give Jacques a lyric to rap.

Jacques, I'm gonna give you three things
to say in your freestyle.

Cakes, flour, and sugar.

[upbeat music playing]

♪ I love cake ♪

♪ And I always put some flour
And some sugar together ♪

-[Nicole laughing]
-That don't even rhyme.

-It need to rhyme?
-[laughing]

[Omefa] Your design is looking good, Toni.

[giggling]

-All I did was the brows, thank you.
-Hey, it's something. Okay, okay.

Oh, these are big Cheerios.

[Logan] I'll get brown fondant
and make the little cereals.

No, I made them right there.
You just need to color them.

Boy, I hope this is right.

It looks like he's melting
in the summer, sort of.

[chuckling] It looks like blood.
But it's okay.

-[Chrissy] It's got a lot...
-[Susan] A lot of colors.

I wish I would've just picked
little brown cinnamon squares.

We picked Lucky Charms,
and there's a lot of charms.

Make an "X."

[grunts] Eh, I don't care. It'll be fine.

-[Chrissy] We need hearts.
-[Susan] Oh, sweet Lord.

A horseshoe. How do you make a horseshoe?
That's a horseshoe. Where's the pink?

I'm gonna use, like, peanuts
as the cereal.

Oh Jesus, mother of God.
Peanuts totally look like that stuff.

Boink, boink.

-[Chrissy] Got the cakes!
-[Nicole] Ooh! Cake's out of the oven.

She got pep in her step.

-The middle still has to cook, actually.
-[chuckling] Okay. Yeah.

You got 15 minutes.

-[Omefa] Give it two more minutes.
-Okay.

I wanna have
at least ten minutes to decorate.

-They're not giggling no more.
-No.

-No, it's over.
-[Ferg laughs]

Oh my God, Caitlynn, they are liquid.

I cannot believe I made a soupy cake.
I've literally never done that before.

Logan, you're not panicking over there?

[laughs]

It's almost done.
She's just taking a little bit longer.

-But almost done. And looking really good.
-[laughs]

That dude
could be getting his arm chopped off,

-he'll be the happiest man alive.
-[laughs]

Chrissy, I feel like
we need to start assembling.

[Chrissy] Got it.

[Susan] We need to make a hole
in the cake,

because we're supposed
to put cereal inside.

Um...

-Cakes with a hole.
-Yes.

We can do that. Yeah.

[Susan] Oh, oh, oh. Ah, oh, good thinking.

[Chrissy] There we go.
Magically delicious.

[chuckling] Oh boy, 11 minutes are left.

Everybody's late.

I don't know, man. They need to focus up.

-Oh, no, Toni.
-[Toni] What?

-Our cake is not good.
-[Toni] Oh.

[Omefa] I don't wanna put out a raw cake.
We have all the side decorations,

but we can't put it onto anything,
'cause we don't have a cake.

[Toni] Get the cake,
and we'll use what we can.

-And we'll put...
-Yeah. Okay.

[Toni] Dude, we have to put a cake out.

-Then make it like a bowl real quick.
-[Omefa] Yeah.

-[Omefa] Cereal.
-[Toni] Do we have any cake?

We're just cutting cake on top
that was baked.

All right, Toni. Cake. Make it work.

That way we'd have
some kind of cake for tasting.

Yeah, sure. There it is.

-It's... It's a wet cake.
-[Caitlynn] I mean, just get it out.

I murdered our cake. It is not baked.

It's okay. We can use rice treats.

-You're good.
-Oh my God!

You're good! You're good! It's okay!

Hey, it's okay.
We can just use rice cereal treats. No!

No, it's liquid. We cannot save that cake.

This is not happening to me.
Why is this happening to me?

-[Logan] Isn't it low-key cute?
-[Caitlynn] No.

[Logan gasps]

[Susan] I'm gonna start
putting the face on him.

[Chrissy] Stay.

[Susan] No, no, no, don't!
Don't touch it, Chrissy.

[Chrissy] It's falling apart.

-[Susan gasps] No!
-Oh no.

Maybe get some sticks
or something. Stick it together.

Jacques, why's it falling apart like that?

Oh, it's hot.

It has to chill. It's too hot.
It's melting everything.

If it's cold and you put buttercream,
it will hold.

[Chrissy] Okay. It's fine.

Five minutes remain.

It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.

Honestly, I love him. I really do.

-He's ruining my life.
-[gasps]

I am just a husk of who I once was.

Buddy boy. He's falling.

I had a plan.

[Logan] He has a little smile.

-All right. He has brows.
-[Omefa] Okay.

[Toni] Oh, he's got teeth.

[Omefa] Get our spoon
to stay up a little bit.

[Susan] Oh my God. Oh my...

-Hold on, let me chill the...
-I don't know that that's working at all.

Are we going to have
any cake on the table by the end?

Honestly, I don't know.

[dramatic music playing]

[in slow motion] Oh my God,
what is happening?

-Guys!
-You have 14 seconds!

[Logan] No!

[judges] Five, four, three,

two, one.

You're done!

That was super easy.

All right, my giggle buddies,
Toni and Omefa.

[both giggling]

[judges laughing]

I love that that made you giggle again.

[both giggling]

Well, let's see the cereal bowl cake
you were trying to make.

And let's see what you did.

[drumroll]

[Toni and Omefa] Nailed it!

[all laugh]

That's pretty dope. [splutters]
It looks like a jack-o'-lantern.

[Toni and Omefa giggling]

[Nicole] Uh, I like the smile.
The boot is real sassy.

-I like the boots. I like the boots.
-[Nicole] Y'know?

I think that you didn't give up,
and this is wonderful.

You find another way to present something.

I think it looks cool.
As far as eating, that's another story.

[all laugh]

[Nicole] Cut into that.

[Jacques] Okay, let's find the cake.

-Maybe over here?
-[Jacques] Maybe over here?

-[Toni] There it is.
-[Omefa] ...it is. [giggles]

-[Nicole] Thank you.
-My dear.

Ferg.

There's not much to inspect.

[both giggling]

I like the flavor of the honey nut.

How much of the flavor
did you put into the cake?

-About a cup and a half of honey.
-It's good. I love honey.

-Thank you.
-Thank you.

The honey nut with the frosting
and the crunch of the cereal.

-It's all a vibe.
-Maybe this'll be my new breakfast.

-Maybe your new breakfast?
-All right. Thank you, ladies.

-Ferg, this way.
-[Ferg] Let's do it.

[Nicole] All right, Chrissy, Susan.

Let's remember the cereal bowl cake
you were trying to make.

And let's see what you guys did!

[drumroll]

-[Chrissy and Susan] Nailed it!
-[Nicole] Oh!

[sad chuckle]

Yikes.

[Nicole] Oh boy, it looked so good.

[Susan] Oh, he's so sad. Look at that.

[Nicole] He does look sad.

-That cake needs some therapy.
-[Chrissy] Yes.

It was looking good for a couple minutes.

[Nicole] Yeah, this really would've been
a very cool cake had it stayed together.

-It had a so much potential.
-It had a lot.

Jacques, it's already precut.

-So you just gotta scoop it.
-[Ferg] Wow.

[Jacques] Look at that.
Perfect. You're right.

Hmm.

You really think that you have
a cereal bowl when you eat it.

The flavor is there.

The crunch,
that vanilla frosting, it's hittin'.

[Nicole] Mm-hmm.

-I wouldn't hug. Your cake fell apart.
-[Susan] That's true.

This was delicious.
We've got one other cake to taste.

-Bye-bye, ladies.
-[Jacques] Thank you.

All right, Logan and Caitlynn.

Let's remember the cereal bowl cake
you were trying to make.

And let's see what you did.

[drumroll]

-[Logan and Caitlynn] Nailed it!
-[Nicole] No! Oh God!

This cake has me stressed out.

[Logan laughing]

-I'm so sorry.
-[Nicole] No, it looks so sad!

-[Ferg] Damn.
-[Nicole] Can you spin it around?

Look at his shoes, though.

[Nicole] I don't know why
you want me to look at anything.

[all laugh]

Oh Lord, I'm... I'm tired.

It look like a little animal
that was dying on the side of the street.

[Nicole] Oh no.

You know, I will find a positive.
I like the lips. They're very juicy.

-[laughing] Thank you.
-[Nicole] You're welcome.

Okay, Jacques,
let's search and rescue some cake.

[Jacques] Okay, let's see.

-[Logan] Like, under all the fondant.
-[Jacques] This is difficult to find.

-Nicole, thank you.
-Thank you.

The flavor work well together.

Okay.

It's just not enough cake,
but it's not a bad cake.

The Cinnamon Toast Crunch
added like a blast of flavor.

-Surprisingly, the cake tastes good.
-Yeah.

-He lives again.
-No, no. He's dead.

[both chuckling]

We have a choice to make,
and I think we should make it.

Let's go, Ferg.

All right, bakers,
it's time to announce the winner.

-Jacques, which team bowled us over?
-[Toni giggles]

One team out-teamed the other teams,
and that team is...

Chrissy and Susan.

[laughing]

-Ferg, tell 'em what they've won.
-Bakers, you can believe your eyes,

because you are looking at
a brand-new blue cordless appliance set.

-[Susan chuckling]
-[Chrissy] Yay!

And you also get a one-of-a-kind pair
of golden Nailed It! bakers hats.

[Susan laughs]

[chuckles]

-[Ferg] They blinged-out.
-[Nicole] Uh-huh.

-You ladies look dazzling.
-We're honored.

Okay, bakers, let's keep it real
as we move to round two.

Our next cake
in the Nail It or Fail It challenge

will have you staring
in wide-eyed disbelief.

Ferg, tell 'em why.

This next challenge
look greasy and cheesy, but it ain't easy.

You'll be licking your lips in hunger

and scratching your head
full of wonder when you make...

[Nicole] A real deal hamburger meal cake!

[Omefa laughs]

The real deal hamburger meal is made
with a hamburger patty and bun

that are sculpted
out of cola-flavored cake

and airbrushed for a realistic look.

Fondant is used to create the lettuce,

cheese, tomato, onions,
and sesame seeds to complete the look.

The accompanying french fries are cookies,

and the soda pop
is a fondant-covered cereal treat.

[Ferg] Wow.

That's a lot.

I wish they would have just ordered
the simple hamburger without the meal.

-That's not how it's gonna go.
-No, it's not. I know.

[Nicole] You gotta make all three.

And Caitlynn and Logan.

Oh boy.

-You guys really struggled.
-[chuckles]

So we decided to give you
an advantage button.

There's the Sort It Out button.
Press it, and your opponents

will have to stop baking
for three whole minutes,

and you'll have to sort
condiment packets, okay?

Because nobody wants mayo
when they're expecting ketchup!

[both chuckling]

There is 10,000 real dollars on the line,
so no half-baked efforts.

All right, you got 90 minutes
on the clock.

-So...
-Let's go!

-[Klaxon buzzes]
-I'm gonna make a cake!

-[Ferg] Right.
-[Nicole] Go!

-Go! Go!
-[Logan] Go.

"One container cake mix."

-[Logan] How does this size look?
-Good.

-Lots of spray.
-[Chrissy] Lots of spray.

-Let's get it. Let's get that energy flow.
-Yes.

So, Jacques, how would you go about
making this real deal hamburger meal cake?

[Jacques] They need to start
on the cola-flavored cake right away.

Then, while one baker
make the buttercream,

the other should mold the cup
from rice cereal treats.

One baker should make the cookie fries,

while the other start creating
the fondant decoration.

Then finally, they need to work together
to wrap each layer in fondant,

making sure to add
as much detail as possible

to give the hamburger meal
that realistic look.

Wow, that's serious.

Container of cake mix, thank you.

-How many eggs?
-You need eight.

Our job is about being very precise,
so we need to focus on time management.

[Toni] And it didn't say how much cola,
so hopefully, this isn't too much.

Our goal is to work together to get
the cake in the oven and go from there.

All right, Toni,
so I'm thinking we could do bigger,

and we can cut as needed.

Okay.

-We're gonna bring home that trophy.
-Yes, we are.

[both giggling]

[Omefa] It's good. We followed the recipe.

-Yeah, well... [giggles]
-[giggles]

-Can you crack the eggs in that bowl?
-Yeah.

I have a mix of emotions going on.

Do you wanna taste for the cola flavor,
and we'll see if we should add more?

I'm seeing so many elements,
it looks like a lot.

-How's it taste?
-[Caitlynn] Gonna put one more.

But I also don't want it to be...

-I don't want it to be too much.
-Disgusting.

I'm just determined to have cake.
That's all I want.

[Logan] Oh my God. [chuckles]

Okay, I spilt it a teeny bit,
so I'm gonna do like an extra splash.

[Caitlynn] If we have a soupy cake,
I'm gonna make you into soup.

-What?
-[chuckles]

Is there eggshell in here? I can't tell.

-What?
-I might have dropped some eggshell.

-[Susan] Where?
-Nowhere. [chuckles]

We are cautiously optimistic,
but seeing as how our cake fell apart,

we realize that things could go wrong.

Okay, Chrissy.

Awesome.

-We'll figure it out. We got this.
-[laughs]

[Chrissy] I smell me some cola.

[Susan laughs]

[Chrissy] It smells good.

[Caitlynn] Okay,
you can put these in.

[Toni] Cake's in the oven.

[Chrissy] Okay.

-[Toni] Wanna make the buttercream?
-[Omefa] I started.

-I'm gonna try to finish here.
-[Toni] Beat it.

[both giggling]

Whoa. Whoa, Nellie!

[laughs]

Is it good?

-It's okay.
-[Logan] How can it be better than okay?

It's okay.

[both chuckle]

You guys doing okay over there,
Logan, Caitlynn?

[both] We're doing okay.

Okay.

-Okay.
-[laughs]

It is taking us longer
to bring everything together.

I don't wanna press the button,
because they all seemed so nice.

Do you wanna press the thingy?

-But...
-Sort it out.

-Sort it out
-Oh, it's the Sort It Out button!

-[both giggling]
-[Nicole] Stop!

Okay, we have to sort.

You now have to sort
all those condiment packets.

-We'll do it here.
-And it better be right, otherwise...

The ketchup police will get you.

-The ketchup police.
-[chuckles]

-Mustard.
-Here.

No... Oh, okay.

[both giggling]

[Susan] We're separating this
like it's a contest,

but we don't really have to separate
the whole box.

Did you remember what number
of powdered sugar I was on? Two or three?

I only heard you say one.
Unless you counted wrong.

-Oh, this is some kind of hell.
-[Omefa giggles]

-[Toni] Has it been three minutes yet?
-[Omefa] Of course not.

-[giggles]
-[Toni] Oh, jeez.

Get... Keep sorting.

Okay.

That's a lot.

-Our mustard runneth over.
-[Chrissy] Oy! Yes.

I'm taking this challenge
very serious here. [chuckles]

[judges] Five, four, three, two, one.

-Back to work!
-[Jacques] Back to work!

This buttercream
has about two more minutes.

-[Toni] Is that your last scoops?
-Of sugar?

-Yeah.
-Yes, ma'am.

-Does this seem a little bit thick?
-That's good.

-Perfect.
-Is it too thick?

-Throw that spoon out.
-Oh, it's good.

-It's good?
-Yeah, baby, here, try it.

-Well...
-Oh really, like we can't share a spoon?

[chuckles]

Nicole, if I want to make
my hair that color.

-I think you should.
-I love your hair.

I see you got the inner jiggy,
but I need to get your outer jiggy right.

Cool. I want to look like you, thank you.

That's cool.

I love this.

I'm gonna do your hair
by the end of this show.

[laughs]

-Forty-seven minutes remain.
-[Jacques] Ah, almost half time.

-I'm starting the cookies.
-[in singsong] Ooh, sweet.

I'm feeling like a '50s mom
making cookies for her children.

Jacques, I see Caitlynn over there
using a hand mixer.

Is that a smart move?

The cookie batter
become way too thick for a hand mixer.

-You're supposed to use the stand mixer.
-[Ferg] Yeah.

Caitlynn, how's your cookie dough
coming over there?

Um...

Maybe you need
something stronger to mix it with?

I, uh...

-What does it say in the directions?
-The mixer.

[chuckles]

Chrissy and Susan,
what are you doing there

with your rice cereal treats? What is it?

-A cup?
-It's a big cup!

[Susan] God bless America.

They off to a bad start.

[laughs]

Something's gonna come out of this.
I think it's gonna look like a cup.

-Okay.
-[Ferg chuckles]

[Logan] How thick do you want the cookies?

Just like maybe an inch or something?
No, less than an inch.

I don't wanna get lost with the fries
and overbake the cake.

Here's one fry. I'm gonna check and see.

[Caitlynn] I'm just gonna tell you
right now.

[laughing] I didn't really agree
with what I saw you doing.

[Logan] I knew I wouldn't like my fry
as well as yours. You're good.

I couldn't find the cookie cutter
for, like, fries,

so I'm using a heart-shaped one.

So, Toni and Omefa
used a heart cookie cutter

-with the crinkle edge to cut the fries.
-[Nicole] Oh.

Wow.

-That's pretty smart.
-Yes.

They look like
little caterpillars actually.

[chuckles] Or like mustaches.

What do you think of these fries?
Are they crinkly enough?

Oh, I love them.

[Toni] Mustache, caterpillar french fries
are going in.

[Caitlynn] I'm gonna put them in.

[Chrissy] Cookies are gonna go in, okay?

Twenty-five minutes remain!

-[Logan] That cake is cake.
-[Caitlynn cheering]

-[Toni] We did everything great this time.
-I think we're good.

[Chrissy] Done, done, done, done, done.

Blast chiller. Blast chiller. Okay.

Oh boy!

Our cakes are kind of a mess.

That's something. Gonna...

[Caitlynn] Just get them out.

I don't know what to do.
Everything's going wrong.

I just feel dead inside
all over again. [chuckles]

Okay, okay, okay, okay. Hey, we're
gonna make this a one-layer patty, okay?

[Logan] The patty looks good.
I actually like it.

[Caitlynn fake sobs] I'm gonna die.

[gasps] It's sticking, Susan.

No. Chrissy, you saw me.

-[Chrissy] How is it possible?
-[Susan] It's fine.

What's the easier way
to get that cake out of that pan?

If you spray the mold and put it
in a freezer when it come out of the oven,

the fat stick the cake to the mold.

Putting them in the oven will work.

-[Susan] Oh sweet God.
-[Chrissy] Last one.

Oh. Let me get this.

[Toni] So, I'm gonna do this,
and I'll put the first fondant over.

And I'll try to start working
on this lettuce here.

These are the onions.

[Chrissy] Oh, I forgot the buttercream
on this one. Oh no.

-Life goes on, right?
-It's okay.

[Toni groans]

This is my workout for the day.

My abuela could make
tortillas all day, every day.

[Omefa] Uh-huh.

[Toni] I truly underestimated her strength
right now, 'cause this is insane.

-[Logan] How do these look?
-[Caitlynn] Soft.

-Aren't cookies always soft?
-No, okay, put them...

-They shouldn't be crispy.
-Yeah, you're right.

Look at the french fries.

-[Omefa] This is all the fries?
-[Toni] They're done.

That looks, like, nice and golden.

-Oh my God, the lettuce looks great.
-[fake sobs] They look like balloons.

[laughs]

Mayonnaise! Burger.

[Chrissy and Susan chuckling]

It look like everybody
going to have some type of a cake.

I'm surprised.

-Nicole, after the first round.
-I'm also surprised.

Second round, we in it,
and we are getting cake, cake, cake.

[Toni in singsong]
It's looking pretty good.

One minute remains.

Uno momento.

Should I put one in the ketchup?

-Oh yeah, that's cute. I love that.
-[Caitlynn] Okay.

-That'll be the front.
-Okay.

[judges] Five, four, three, two, one!

-One, one, one, one, one! It's done!
-You're done!

-[Susan chuckles]
-[Omefa giggles]

Oh boy, I can't wait to see these.

Toni and Omefa, this is the real deal
hamburger cake you were trying to make.

Let's see what you did.

[drumroll]

[Toni and Omefa] Nailed it!

-I think you did.
-[both giggle]

[Nicole] The burger looks good.

[Ferg] They got the tomato.

[Nicole] I think your fries
are really well-done.

[both giggle]

All the parts are here.
We have the five layers.

The fondant is not completely smooth
on it, but it's not easy.

When it comes down to the cup,
I would have did the airbrush on it

just to get the lines
a little more straight.

-I just love y'all energy so much.
-[both giggle]

-And I appreciate this piece of art.
-[Toni] Thank you.

-Thank you. [giggles]
-Thank you.

Ladies, I think you did a lovely job.

I'm gonna ask you
to wheel back over to your station.

[Toni and Omefa giggling]

All right, Chrissy, Susan, it's your turn.
Let's see what you did!

[drumroll]

[Chrissy and Susan] Nailed it!

-[Ferg applauding]
-Y'know? This looks great.

It's cartoony. I gotta say, for the amount
of time you spent on this cup... [laughs]

...it looks like two stacks of toilet paper
put on top of each other.

[laughing]

And the fries,
they look like French baguettes.

Yeah, they're just a little...
a little funky.

[Ferg] It looks like a Tim Burton version
of a Happy Meal.

-[Nicole] Yeah.
-Thank you.

It makes me happy.

All right, ladies, thank you so much.

Caitlynn, Logan, come on!

Oh boy.

Let's see what you did.

[drumroll]

[Caitlynn and Logan] Nailed it!

[Nicole] Yes, you did!

There's a burger there! There's ketchup!
There's a french fry in the ketchup!

There's a cup!
I think it looks great! Spin it around!

[Jacques] That's a huge improvement
from the first round.

-You actually have cakes now.
-Ha! Exactly.

[Jacques] It look like a burger.

I could appreciate
the burnt look of the burger.

-That's how I eat my burger in real life.
-[Caitlynn chuckles]

All right. You guys can go back
to your station.

And then I want all of you to cut us
a nice, delicious slice of hamburger cake.

And we're gonna sit, because even though
I'm wearing slippers, my feet hurt!

-[giggles]
-[Ferg chuckles]

Oh. [grunts]

[Omefa] The tasting part,
we're very confident,

because we were really set
on cake, cake, cake.

This is probably the worst cake
that I've ever made in my entire life.

It's kinda cute.

-We're gonna win.
-We're gonna win.

[Nicole] All right, Toni and Omefa,
your cake and cookie is first.

[giggling]

The cookies is well-baked.
The cake is nice,

but I don't feel much of the cola flavor.

I think it's pretty good. I like
the lemon taste. It has a zing to it.

Wait, you tasted lemon?
Did you put lemon in this cake?

-No.
-Not...

Huh.

It tasted like lemon. Maybe it's
the yellow that made me think about lemon.

-[both giggle]
-I wish I had more of the buttercream.

I think your cookie's super well-baked.
Overall, I think this is pretty solid.

-Thank you.
-Thank you.

Chrissy, Susan, 'tis your turn.

Let's taste this cake.

The cake is well-baked.
It's good, it's light, and it's pleasant.

-Thank you.
-Good.

The cookie is pretty...
can be cooked a little bit more.

-Okay.
-See, I like that about the cookie.

It's crispy on the outside
and a little soft on the inside.

I would agree. I like the cookie.

-The cake, I tasted the cola.
-Yeah.

It was not overpowering.
I think you did a nice job.

-Yeah.
-Thank you.

Onto Caitlynn and Logan.

The cake is good. I think this is
the one with the most cola flavor.

And actually, you're right.

That cola flavor
has a hint of lemon in it.

-Yeah.
-Yeah.

Your cookie was, like, super underbaked.

But again, I liked it.
I like a chewy cookie.

[all laugh]

Mmm. Actually, I like all these cookies.

[all laughing]

For me, the cake is a bit dry,

and the cookie is a bit dry too.
You get a "E" for effort. [laughs]

Wow! We have
a very hard decision ahead of us.

Remember, whoever wins this challenge
gets the coveted Nailed It! trophy

and ten...

[Nicole] Yes.

Wes, where's the trophy?

-[Toni] Oh, no. [giggles]
-I'm trigger-happy.

-Okay.
-Some teams had an amazing comeback.

Compared to the first challenge,
you all end up with pretty nice cakes.

And the winner is

Susan and Chrissy.

[both screaming]

-[applauding]
-[Jacques] Yay!

Bravo!

We won. We nailed it. Both rounds!

[both laugh]

Thank you!

-Precious.
-It's my precious.

[Chrissy] It is.

But we're gonna share, don't worry.

It's gonna be yours.
It's gonna be at your house.

Well, that's all we got time
for today on Nailed It!,

[Jacques] I love orange.
The rest is up to you.

-Oh boy.

-[Jacques] Definitely the first time.
