to the next round. [Laughs]
What? Don't do that? You can't do that.
I am so excited that we made it through,
because, um...
- I feel relieved, honestly.
- I do feel relieved.
Thank you so much.
- Really appreciate it. Thank you.
- I enjoy y'all so much.
Now, I feel like I wanna actually do more
and be better, and learn more.
We wanna give it everything we have.
Because when you make it
through the first round,
there's nothing stopping you
from making it through the next,
and the next, and the next.
[Wandile] You know, someone's gotta go.
I mean, I feel good about my performance,
but Wandile's not going
to be everybody's cup of tea, you know.
So, what if it's me, you know?
What if I'm going?
I'm prepping myself. [Chuckles]
- Queen Mickey. Let's go.
- Yeah.
Well, I'm just gonna get to it.
Wandile, your voice. Holy shit.
[chuckles] Thank you so much.
I wanna see you let go a little bit more.
You barely gave us an inkling
of what you can do.
And the same with you,
Mr. Mysterious, Chuck Adams. [Chuckles]
What you did with "Golden",
you literally made it sound
like your own song.
Which is insane.
But get out of your way, and just let go.
Wandile, you and Chuck Adams
are going on to the next round.
[laughs] You had us there.
I see what you did there.
- I did. I did. I did. I did.
- Shout out, bro.
I feel good. I feel excited
that I get another opportunity to...
To better myself, better my craft.
It's a blessing.
[Guy ton] I'm so excited.
- Congratu-freaking-lations.
- Excited.
[Chuck] For me,
it all comes down to the performance.
I could've done a lot better.
So, I wanna fix that.
Um, your voice, Ash lie, is so good.
Thank you.
- And I know you know that.
- Yes. Thank you.
But we didn't hear your truth
in that song.
[clicks tongue] Okay.
And that is something
that we were looking for.
- You're not going to the workshop.
- [clicks tongue] Okay.
This was an extremely,
extremely hard decision.
But it's okay.
Like, I'm a fighter, I'm a survivor.
- You are a fighter and a survivor and...
- I'm gonna keep doing my thing.
And we are gonna
continue this process together.
- You are not alone, sister.
- Yes.
- I swear on my grandmother's grave...
- [chuckles]
...this is not the end of the road for you.
- Thank you.
- Thank you, sis.
Yes. Have a good one.
It was so nice to meet you.
It was so, so, so, so great to meet you.
All right.
- Okay. Have fun.
- Thank you.
- Get it. [Chuckles]
- I'll see you soon.
- I'll see you. Bye.
- Goodbye.
["Remember Her Name" playing]
[Guy ton] It was incredibly difficult
for me to have to let Ash lie Amber go.
As a Black woman,
I Stan and support Black women,
and I still will always Stan
and support her.
But I know this girl is a performer.
Like, she has the potential
to be the next Shania freaking Twain.
And I wish I could've seen that
in her performance.
I-I could've showcased more.
So, I think that's why I'm upset.
I think the conversation
would have been a lot different.
But at the end of the day,
I'm just gonna keep grinding it out.
I'm gonna keep doing my thing.
You know, the show must go on.
I just wanna say, y'all are not
contestants, y'all are artists.
And it is such an honor
to just be in y'all's presence.
- And cheers to Ash lie.
- Yes.
- [Landi] Whoo.
- [Guy ton] Y'all deserve it.
[Zel] Well done, guys.
[Guy ton] To hear more music
from Ash lie Amber,
go to My Kind of Country
on Apple Music.
