- [Narrator ] Last time
on my design rules,
everything was definitely
been not coming up for roses.
The budget is looking very
SWAT. I budget is tight.
We working on a
shoestring budget and
we have to create
magic with that,
but money doesn't grow on trees,
but the next challenge
does for this challenge,
you'll be designing and
decorating the patio and garden.
Each design Bureau is assigned
a landscape company to help
bring that vision to life.
And everyone's hoping they
have a four leaf Clover to help
them with, as everyone works
hard to create a dream garden,
who's going to feel the joy
of victory and who will be
feeling green with envy.
Welcome to my design rules.
With three competing DeVos are
transforming three white box
spaces into beautiful
homes. One space at a time.
And the current space
is the outdoor one.
As I'll duo stretch their
green fingers to create
magnificent gardens in
the penultimate challenge.
Can you believe it's already
deadline day on the final day
of the challenge.
All the gardens get a very
important finishing touch,
beautiful green lawns.
So the grass is there
being made very excited.
It looks green and so
alive. And I'm like,
give me a hose pipe.
I need to water.
This.
I need to tell is this is where
I see plastic and real neat.
Perfectly seamlessly. Yeah.
Just plunk it down and
you're ready to go. Right?
It's the final day.
And our sculpture is
far from being done.
We're still trying
to paint it. So guys,
what are you going to
do with my sculpture?
This is the sketch we did.
So we can give you a draft
idea of where we're going to
utilize the Carla's. So,
because it's got five sets,
we're going to use
different colors.
It'll balance the garden
because we selected it from the
flowers that we have
be honest with you.
I never imagined
my screen. Okay.
Having so many colors of the
ones, that's what you have.
We painted the sculpture
and three of us are trying
different colors to see what
works and what doesn't okay.
Like I'm done with
this sculpture,
partially for the couches,
turned out a lot easier.
They might we thought,
as long as you pay
attention to detail,
I think we are ready to go
into the upholstery industry.
Step one, have a sharp knife.
Or step two have
that strong adhesive
step three categories, patterns.
And it's there for prey and
Siemens to that seamless
seamlessly step back
into a poet's black wanted
to do like attends and stuff.
So black was the base color
and we decided to go gains the
patterns. We didn't want
it to look Curio shop.
So we'd rather not in. Yeah,
we dang upon we thing so that
everything will be ready on
time.
The only thing that we still
worried about is our of table
being there, but then otherwise
everything is making good.
You're making your cocktail.
Knows that shit.
Oh, what is that?
It's actually a natural
potent dye and what it does,
it blocks out sunlight.
So that Aldi doesn't grow.
She was like, you guys
have already chilled.
You're having cocktails.
You guys are gonna be
ready for completion.
Your grasses in it looks great.
Your pebble walkways looking
amazing is everything.
We've done. Everything
is pretty much on track.
We're just waiting for the
guys to finish grouting.
And then that's
signature furniture
that we told you about.
It's still coming. That's
going to blow the judges away.
And then we unrolled
Ellison. No more cocktails,
stop pondering and
get back to it.
Hobby dad's hobby. Todd does
whatever Ben, Brad does.
I know YouTube. How will you
let go, come and take a seat?
Sure.
Things are going well so
far, so far, so far, so good,
indeed. But we hope
there's no surprise.
How's it going guys?
The finishing touches like we
just going to have posted this
couch, move it all
into the patio.
Is it a bit of styling?
It's a mod to the
plant and to the pond.
It's a big challenge.
The prize money is big.
So there was a lot of
pressure taken last one.
So we last summer
when we came to visit,
there was apparently an
umbrella coming. Now,
this all gets Zebo.
When does it end?
VBA is not an elephant.
Even an elephant
holding that umbrella.
It's just a nice zebra to give
you some shame that says it
all. And that is what,
the amount of legwork you
guys have been putting in.
And that can do attitude.
That's going to be done in time.
I'm sure, absolutely.
Speaking about legs and
can do, should read it.
pep. Just burst in a that
that's going to finish on time.
They'll whole water might go
onto the plant and it might
screw everything over.
There might be a lot of mud.
Well, well, Whoa,
what do we have here?
You surely did.
Not as it on the corner
and the pipe does best.
It went like it was the last
plant we're planting our last
plant and this explosion
just had to happen.
This desperate. That's
a little bit behind,
but we were making good.
- Time. We should still be done.
- Well, good luck you to get
this thing complete on time.
I'm going for a run. All right.
Thank you. Benito.
A hard fender furniture is
here. A new, very excited.
The graceless with like bigger
benches than we thought there
would be.
And also the dog food is very
exciting and it compliments
the initial finish.
I was very excited because I
was a bit worried that they
will shrink into the patio,
but can they fit perfectly as
the final minutes, tick away.
Water features spring
to light save settles,
and even while under pressure,
Oh, designed to yours,
enjoy the brace air at beautiful
outdoor lifestyle while the
sun begins to set on
yet another challenge.
So what an incredible run
downtown at the Ivan for
Gary Stevens. So
beautiful to be out there.
I'm sweating and I'm sure
designed contestants are too,
because time is up. Let's
go collect them team VC.
Time's up. Come follow me.
Let's go dip off one.
It less, less have more house.
How South time's up.
Brad on the BIA,
the time is here.
We had to just stop there
and join the marathon in the
March.
Let's go marching to the judges
and reading for Jackson, man
duo marching to the
beat of their own drum,
as they think outside of the
box and quite literally outside
of the home, designing those
beautiful outdoor spaces.
After the break, the
gardens are revealed.
Welcome back to my design
rules. I'll design DeVos,
completed spaces.
Almost certainly not
your garden variety,
outdoor areas. Pun
definitely intended.
Deadline has come and gone.
It's a new day and time
to reveal the Goddens
CBC have been designing for
a fictional client and open
creative bachelor.
And so the garden has been
designed as an outdoor living
area. That's contemporary
and relaxed, hard liquor.
Cheers. You too.
Cheers.
Congrats team VC penultimate
challenge complete.
How are we feeling while
we're glad it's over.
We're a little bit.
- Sad that it's coming
to an end, but yes,
we worked hard on this and
we glad to see it come to
completion.
- The space. We've designed
it by our space planning,
make sure that everything has
its own place like the fire
pit, the water feature,
the Zen garden behind
and the dining table.
So everything was
planned correctly. Ms.
Balancing,
what is your bachelor going
to experience in this space
while we definitely
imagine the bachelor using.
- The space to relax.
I can definitely imagine him
hosting a dinner party and his
friends are around it.
If his friends have kids,
they can also play in the yard.
There's ample lawn for that.
And if you want to
find some solace,
he can also go around the
corner to the Zen garden.
- From a design perspective,
brilliantly executed.
But the judges are practical.
People that might want to know
about road trellises. I mean,
I don't see the
vines growing up.
Then you're posting time
to grow. So with this one,
we are planning for the future.
So we want to maybe
plant it in the future.
If he doesn't want them,
he can take them off.
Well, guys, the judges
are on their way.
I'm wishing you
two, both the best.
Thank you for my
deuce. Thank you.
Next time. Make it stronger.
While the other two
designed dos what?
Hands off in their gardens team,
house and leisure illegally
carried on adding accessories
and making changes
to their garden.
After the challenge had already
finished simple vanilla,
come and join me
over here, please.
What on earth is going on? Yeah.
Deadline was 5:00 PM.
Who gave you permission to
decide to carry on doing work?
When deadline was done,
I'm working off
post the deadline.
We are worried about
being disqualified
and we know it's not
supposed to be happening,
but then because we were
panicking about everything,
we didn't think about that.
We were just like
running around,
trying to get everything in
place so that the judges can get
in what we're trying to execute.
Do you think you've
got something that's
worthy of a win?
I'm slightly confident.
I'm just okay.
And unfortunately
it be Bluefield.
Like we're going to
be criticized with
the pain technique
for the sculpture because it's
not well refined and loose.
We were pressed for time.
Our styling was a bit rushed,
so I'm not in a hundred percent
happy with that. Honestly,
speaking this fond to the
competition say that you're
pressed for time is not
enough of an excuse.
Every team is pressed for time.
It was mostly because of the
table with hoping that it gets
Shay in time. And
unfortunately cut off.
Don't give me that. It
wasn't just a table.
You got some bringing in
pots. Now this morning,
you had your sculpture
still coming in here.
It was not just the table
guys. I think it's time.
We jumping to the point,
just jumping into the pond.
We'll just be fishing.
The point is just,
the pond looks great.
The sound of his voice. Isn't
quite how we used to it.
And I'm thinking to myself,
anybody had just
filed for divorce.
Unfortunately we all gonna have
to let the judges know about
this information. It will
affect their decision.
Good luck at vision day, God,
that would a talking
point and a social space.
Their garden features a moat
and quirky touches that reflect
their design style. What
makes Hong Kong great.
I think what makes it great is
from the front of the house,
when you walked in,
it blends in with
the neighborhood and
then you stick onto
the patch here, you enter
into the secret world.
It's a different world that has
tranquility calmness access.
Didn't even need a house to
go with it because it actually
feels like you're stepping
into come on ground.
You'll hit the green everywhere
from the floors to the
walls. Well done on completions.
Sure. Mother nature was
allowing parts to go green.
So tell me about some of
the hurdles you guys had to
overcome in order to get to
this final product, to happy.
Everything was a hurdle.
You got to give us a lot
to be done. The pond,
painting the tables at socking,
the furniture finishing
touches on the fireplace.
It was quite a Walzer
and yard. You know,
you got extra and Sylvia jump
a lot of periods of downside
to sign in any jumps.
Let's do a little
game quickly, right?
Three judges.
One of them is a mystery judge
and the other two, you know,
what will their comments be
when they walk into your garden
and patio?
I would hope that they walk
into the space and see something
different, something
with attitude,
and actually give it an applause
as opposed to try and find
the cracks and best Dean.
I appreciate the
design aesthetic and
the difference that we
bring all your hard work you
guys deserve to celebrate.
Let's go have a drink while
we wait for those jabs
while all the gardens look
amazing. One thing is for sure,
money does not grow on trees
and are designed you as I've
had the top task of having
to allocate the last of their
cash budgets for the garden
and patio challenge team VC
spent their full
27,000 Rand allocation,
which leaves them with 40,000
Rand for the lounge team
habitat ended up spending only
25,000 Rand leaving them with
43,000 and left for
the lounge team house.
And Lisha had the smallest
budgets spending AMIA 12,000
rands,
leaving them with 36,000
Rand for the final challenge.
Good save guys,
but they still have the lowest
budget for the lounges of the
three teams. Now that we
know what they've spent,
it's time to see if they spent
it wisely. After the break,
the judges arrive for
the garden potties.
We'll come back to my design
rules of DeVos on nine out of
the woods,
just yet as the judges arrived
to view their outdoor spaces,
joining Donald ad cutlet hall,
our guest judge knows a
thing or two about gardens.
My name is and I'm the
operations director
in the housing
region for the South.
- African landscape is Institute
for kind of work that I do is
I support the landscaping
industry through what we call a
voluntary association.
And by belonging to it,
they represent a certain amount
of quality and excellence in
the work that they do.
So I represent them by
engaging with government,
engaging with other industries
and supporting them through
training and
upskilling their staff.
The data's first stop
is team VC's garden.
Whether designed you aim
to impress with striking
simplicity, clean lines,
and easy maintenance.
Well, it must say it's
nice and cool out here.
And I like the sun. I mean,
living in an equal state,
you just want to hear the sound
of that fountain going and
going and going quite a nice
and tranquil effected adds to
the garden. There's
architectural elements
that I see here.
I'm in the strong
use of concrete.
I can see that they
are channeling that
concrete jungle that
they spoke of. It is quite a
linear sort of style of garden.
So I see that there's
no frills to it.
So I think it's from where they
come from and understanding
them as a team. I get this.
- I hear what you're
saying. However, for me,
a gardener should give you a
sense of comfort and a place
for you to relax.
And I don't seem to get
that feeling with this guy.
- And the way that landscapes
are treated in the modern age is
that home's footprints are
bigger compared to the size of
the stand. So there's a
lot less space for gardens.
And now you've got to do that
fine balance between aesthetic
and function. I think this
place kind of gets it.
- I love the back that they've
painted the pots views,
that beautiful black that they
used on the furniture that I
felt was a nice touch.
And they had those beautiful
succulents with those pops of
pink.
I feel they could
have bought that,
that pop of color into those
bunnies that they had and the
shoes as well,
that would have made a
world of a difference to ed
personalities in this space.
- What I don't like at the
dining table, I think it's,
it looks like an afterthought.
It's too small for that
space. And it also has no,
no presence of gravitize in
relation to what's going on
around it next, this team
house in Lester's garden,
where they've maintained a
natural yet autistic field,
but could be under fire for
working past the deadline.
I'm feeling a bit worried
about our coffee table,
not being there because well,
the pallet was actually a
last minute thought guy.
- What an absolute
pleasure to walk into
this garden for me in
a complex that's literally
50 shades of gray,
the pops of color, I'm
afraid use of color,
that beautiful sculpted that
they've used and how they've
carried that through
to the water LEDs.
It's absolutely gorgeous.
I love how they were brave
about color and they've got
beautiful functional seating.
And then they're added
it's sense of comfort,
those oversized bean bags that
are just begging you to come
and sit and read a book.
- I'm enjoying that the space
is just so unafraid of being
themselves. I mean,
I can see each week and each
room forming a character and a
personality, and this
patio is just in that vein.
So I think this team is
really cultivating a sense of
joyfulness in their
designs and a spirit,
which I think I'm in love with.
The other thing
that I love is the,
the water feature that they
created at the back here.
Just a small body of water
to give you that tranquility.
And also the slope of the
retaining wall at the back that
just lends your eye
towards the house.
- At this day is what I don't
like about the space is the
sense of purposing.
I don't get too much
of that coming out.
- The use of the round stepping
stones, as you approached,
the patio really did
not appeal to me.
It felt a bit kindergarten ish.
I just feel that the different
sizes of the circles and how
it was staggered in the
grass felt a bit childish.
Part of the designer's duty
would be sometimes to improvise.
I think in this case,
no coffee table would
have been better.
- Finally, the judges
visit habitats garden,
a spice that combines Regal
touches with a dose of whimsy.
- This is probably one
of the smallest gardens
that we've seen
today. And I love the fact that
they pulled in the feel of a
natural grassy area with a
use of the synthetic lawn.
This space for me,
feels so fresh.
And what I'm liking is that
the team has gone out in the
free purposed on furniture
and that's completely
environmentally
friendly. Isn't it?
I like the fact that the pop
of green is so strong and it's
so unafraid that it actually
creates a feature from this
space. Of course
the wall can garden.
I think that is so beautiful.
And the son of the fountain
for me, team habitat well done.
- I am like, I could be
bursting out of my skin.
That's how excited I
am about this space.
And as there's mentioned,
they've taken such a small
space and they've managed to
literally create
two poles areas.
It's tranquil.
It is just it's
wool for through.
- My favorite thing is that
buyer phase that they've
incorporated into their space.
I like the fact that you can
use the space in the summer and
in the winter with the
use of the fireplace,
switching it on, you
can use the space.
Also,
the only thing that I could see
that was impractical in this
garden was the use of a
capsule dry in the gazebo area,
which I was human people
would use to Brighton.
But keep in mind that you're
working on a plastic surface
and with hot coals dripping
off their Kittle Bryant might
cause an issue.
- I'm going to sound like a
broken record as to what I don't
like. Those login pub fee.
I cannot get the team
to get weird, please.
Sorry.
- Undesigned viewers might have
stopped at Alex metaphorically
being green when it comes
to landscaping. However,
from the judges feedback,
we can tell they've done an
incredible job with their
gardens, but they must be a
winner for this challenge.
Hello and welcome
back contestants.
And congratulations
on completing well,
almost completing your
garden and patio challenge.
I know for all of you,
this is the first time you've
designed an exterior space for
congratulations. The
designs were incredible.
Let's begin with the
judges feedback team VC,
I'll start with you.
The judges appreciated how
you carried your urban jungle
females into your garden.
Andrew used some architectural
lines in your design was well
appreciated.
However,
they felt that your use of
color could have been maximized
more team. Alison laser,
the judges really appreciated
your use of color and your
whimsical sculpture.
However, being a corner unit,
you should have made provision
for more privacy from your
neighbors team habitat.
The judges loved how you
divided the garden and made
multiple spaces with some
clever design choices.
However,
there were not impressed with
your fake plants and the use
of plastic grass
underneath your cable.
Bri was not a clever
idea as always.
They can only be one winner
and the winner this week walks
away with 10,000 Rand
added to their budget.
It could make or break your
chances in the competition.
The winning design duo,
walking away with that 10,000
Rand added to their budgets.
It is
a BN grad team habitat.
It's very encouraging
tender. Deck me walked me to,
it was us house and we edited.
We try to please
everyone and ourselves,
which was the most
important advise.
And it's nice to know that
you can win just by being
yourself. Congratulations.
Congratulations. They
did like maybe with Todd,
they have like the whole water.
I don't know what you'd call it.
It's a moat. Yeah.
They have great ideas of
and executional ideas.
I'm very happy for Tim habitat.
I enjoyed Thelwell to experience
like it's a very common
guiding and not winning the
10 Kamins who can have the
fucking shot. We won, whatever
the outlook are designed.
Dos can be incredibly proud
of the work they've delivered
thus far.
Now they'll just have to
bring it home as they say,
because in the next episode,
they get started on the final
challenge and there'll be no
time for lounging around if
they want to be crowned as
winners of my design rules.

downtown at the Ivan for
Gary Stevens. So
beautiful to be out there.
I'm sweating and I'm sure
designed contestants are too,
because time is up. Let's
go collect them team VC.
Time's up. Come follow me.
Let's go dip off one.
It less, less have more house.
How South time's up.
Brad on the BIA,
the time is here.
We had to just stop there
and join the marathon in the
March.
Let's go marching to the judges
and reading for Jackson, man
duo marching to the
beat of their own drum,
as they think outside of the
box and quite literally outside
of the home, designing those
beautiful outdoor spaces.
After the break, the
gardens are revealed.
Welcome back to my design
rules. I'll design DeVos,
completed spaces.
Almost certainly not
your garden variety,
outdoor areas. Pun
definitely intended.
Deadline has come and gone.
It's a new day and time
to reveal the Goddens
CBC have been designing for
a fictional client and open
creative bachelor.
And so the garden has been
designed as an outdoor living
area. That's contemporary
and relaxed, hard liquor.
Cheers. You too.
Cheers.
Congrats team VC penultimate
challenge complete.
How are we feeling while
we're glad it's over.
We're a little bit.
- Sad that it's coming
to an end, but yes,
we worked hard on this and
we glad to see it come to
completion.
- The space. We've designed
it by our space planning,
make sure that everything has
its own place like the fire
pit, the water feature,
the Zen garden behind
and the dining table.
So everything was
planned correctly. Ms.
Balancing,
what is your bachelor going
to experience in this space
while we definitely
imagine the bachelor using.
- The space to relax.
I can definitely imagine him
hosting a dinner party and his
friends are around it.
If his friends have kids,
they can also play in the yard.
There's ample lawn for that.
And if you want to
find some solace,
he can also go around the
corner to the Zen garden.
- From a design perspective,
brilliantly executed.
But the judges are practical.
People that might want to know
about road trellises. I mean,
I don't see the
vines growing up.
Then you're posting time
to grow. So with this one,
we are planning for the future.
So we want to maybe
plant it in the future.
If he doesn't want them,
he can take them off.
Well, guys, the judges
are on their way.
I'm wishing you
two, both the best.
Thank you for my
deuce. Thank you.
Next time. Make it stronger.
While the other two
designed dos what?
Hands off in their gardens team,
house and leisure illegally
carried on adding accessories
and making changes
to their garden.
After the challenge had already
finished simple vanilla,
come and join me
over here, please.
What on earth is going on? Yeah.
Deadline was 5:00 PM.
Who gave you permission to
decide to carry on doing work?
When deadline was done,
I'm working off
post the deadline.
We are worried about
being disqualified
and we know it's not
supposed to be happening,
but then because we were
panicking about everything,
we didn't think about that.
We were just like
running around,
trying to get everything in
place so that the judges can get
in what we're trying to execute.
Do you think you've
got something that's
worthy of a win?
I'm slightly confident.
I'm just okay.
And unfortunately
it be Bluefield.
Like we're going to
be criticized with
the pain technique
for the sculpture because it's
not well refined and loose.
We were pressed for time.
Our styling was a bit rushed,
so I'm not in a hundred percent
happy with that. Honestly,
speaking this fond to the
competition say that you're
pressed for time is not
enough of an excuse.
Every team is pressed for time.
It was mostly because of the
table with hoping that it gets
Shay in time. And
unfortunately cut off.
Don't give me that. It
wasn't just a table.
You got some bringing in
pots. Now this morning,
you had your sculpture
still coming in here.
It was not just the table
guys. I think it's time.
We jumping to the point,
just jumping into the pond.
We'll just be fishing.
The point is just,
the pond looks great.
The sound of his voice. Isn't
quite how we used to it.
And I'm thinking to myself,
anybody had just
filed for divorce.
Unfortunately we all gonna have
to let the judges know about
this information. It will
affect their decision.
Good luck at vision day, God,
that would a talking
point and a social space.
Their garden features a moat
and quirky touches that reflect
their design style. What
makes Hong Kong great.
I think what makes it great is
from the front of the house,
when you walked in,
it blends in with
the neighborhood and
then you stick onto
the patch here, you enter
into the secret world.
It's a different world that has
tranquility calmness access.
Didn't even need a house to
go with it because it actually
feels like you're stepping
into come on ground.
You'll hit the green everywhere
from the floors to the
walls. Well done on completions.
Sure. Mother nature was
allowing parts to go green.
So tell me about some of
the hurdles you guys had to
overcome in order to get to
this final product, to happy.
Everything was a hurdle.
You got to give us a lot
to be done. The pond,
painting the tables at socking,
the furniture finishing
touches on the fireplace.
It was quite a Walzer
and yard. You know,
you got extra and Sylvia jump
a lot of periods of downside
to sign in any jumps.
Let's do a little
game quickly, right?
Three judges.
One of them is a mystery judge
and the other two, you know,
what will their comments be
when they walk into your garden
and patio?
I would hope that they walk
into the space and see something
different, something
with attitude,
and actually give it an applause
as opposed to try and find
the cracks and best Dean.
I appreciate the
design aesthetic and
the difference that we
bring all your hard work you
guys deserve to celebrate.
Let's go have a drink while
we wait for those jabs
while all the gardens look
amazing. One thing is for sure,
money does not grow on trees
and are designed you as I've
had the top task of having
to allocate the last of their
cash budgets for the garden
and patio challenge team VC
spent their full
27,000 Rand allocation,
which leaves them with 40,000
Rand for the lounge team
habitat ended up spending only
25,000 Rand leaving them with
43,000 and left for
the lounge team house.
And Lisha had the smallest
budgets spending AMIA 12,000
rands,
leaving them with 36,000
Rand for the final challenge.
Good save guys,
but they still have the lowest
budget for the lounges of the
three teams. Now that we
know what they've spent,
it's time to see if they spent
it wisely. After the break,
the judges arrive for
the garden potties.
We'll come back to my design
rules of DeVos on nine out of
the woods,
just yet as the judges arrived
to view their outdoor spaces,
joining Donald ad cutlet hall,
our guest judge knows a
thing or two about gardens.
My name is and I'm the
operations director
in the housing
region for the South.
- African landscape is Institute
for kind of work that I do is
I support the landscaping
industry through what we call a
voluntary association.
And by belonging to it,
they represent a certain amount
of quality and excellence in
the work that they do.
So I represent them by
engaging with government,
engaging with other industries
and supporting them through
training and
upskilling their staff.
The data's first stop
is team VC's garden.
Whether designed you aim
to impress with striking
simplicity, clean lines,
and easy maintenance.
Well, it must say it's
nice and cool out here.
And I like the sun. I mean,
living in an equal state,
you just want to hear the sound
of that fountain going and
going and going quite a nice
and tranquil effected adds to
the garden. There's
architectural elements
that I see here.
I'm in the strong
use of concrete.
I can see that they
are channeling that
concrete jungle that
they spoke of. It is quite a
linear sort of style of garden.
So I see that there's
no frills to it.
So I think it's from where they
come from and understanding
them as a team. I get this.
- I hear what you're
saying. However, for me,
a gardener should give you a
sense of comfort and a place
for you to relax.
And I don't seem to get
that feeling with this guy.
- And the way that landscapes
are treated in the modern age is
that home's footprints are
bigger compared to the size of
the stand. So there's a
lot less space for gardens.
And now you've got to do that
fine balance between aesthetic
and function. I think this
place kind of gets it.
- I love the back that they've
painted the pots views,
that beautiful black that they
used on the furniture that I
felt was a nice touch.
And they had those beautiful
succulents with those pops of
pink.
I feel they could
have bought that,
that pop of color into those
bunnies that they had and the
shoes as well,
that would have made a
world of a difference to ed
personalities in this space.
- What I don't like at the
dining table, I think it's,
it looks like an afterthought.
It's too small for that
space. And it also has no,
no presence of gravitize in
relation to what's going on
around it next, this team
house in Lester's garden,
where they've maintained a
natural yet autistic field,
but could be under fire for
working past the deadline.
I'm feeling a bit worried
about our coffee table,
not being there because well,
the pallet was actually a
last minute thought guy.
- What an absolute
pleasure to walk into
this garden for me in
a complex that's literally
50 shades of gray,
the pops of color, I'm
afraid use of color,
that beautiful sculpted that
they've used and how they've
carried that through
to the water LEDs.
It's absolutely gorgeous.
I love how they were brave
about color and they've got
beautiful functional seating.
And then they're added
it's sense of comfort,
those oversized bean bags that
are just begging you to come
and sit and read a book.
- I'm enjoying that the space
is just so unafraid of being
themselves. I mean,
I can see each week and each
room forming a character and a
personality, and this
patio is just in that vein.
So I think this team is
really cultivating a sense of
joyfulness in their
designs and a spirit,
which I think I'm in love with.
The other thing
that I love is the,
the water feature that they
created at the back here.
Just a small body of water
to give you that tranquility.
And also the slope of the
retaining wall at the back that
just lends your eye
towards the house.
- At this day is what I don't
like about the space is the
sense of purposing.
I don't get too much
of that coming out.
- The use of the round stepping
stones, as you approached,
the patio really did
not appeal to me.
It felt a bit kindergarten ish.
I just feel that the different
sizes of the circles and how
it was staggered in the
grass felt a bit childish.
Part of the designer's duty
would be sometimes to improvise.
I think in this case,
no coffee table would
have been better.
- Finally, the judges
visit habitats garden,
a spice that combines Regal
touches with a dose of whimsy.
- This is probably one
of the smallest gardens
that we've seen
today. And I love the fact that
they pulled in the feel of a
natural grassy area with a
use of the synthetic lawn.
This space for me,
feels so fresh.
And what I'm liking is that
the team has gone out in the
free purposed on furniture
and that's completely
environmentally
friendly. Isn't it?
I like the fact that the pop
of green is so strong and it's
so unafraid that it actually
creates a feature from this
space. Of course
the wall can garden.
I think that is so beautiful.
And the son of the fountain
for me, team habitat well done.
- I am like, I could be
bursting out of my skin.
That's how excited I
am about this space.
And as there's mentioned,
they've taken such a small
space and they've managed to
literally create
two poles areas.
It's tranquil.
It is just it's
wool for through.
- My favorite thing is that
buyer phase that they've
incorporated into their space.
I like the fact that you can
use the space in the summer and
in the winter with the
use of the fireplace,
switching it on, you
can use the space.
Also,
the only thing that I could see
that was impractical in this
garden was the use of a
capsule dry in the gazebo area,
which I was human people
would use to Brighton.
But keep in mind that you're
working on a plastic surface
and with hot coals dripping
off their Kittle Bryant might
cause an issue.
- I'm going to sound like a
broken record as to what I don't
like. Those login pub fee.
I cannot get the team
to get weird, please.
Sorry.
- Undesigned viewers might have
stopped at Alex metaphorically
being green when it comes
to landscaping. However,
from the judges feedback,
we can tell they've done an
incredible job with their
gardens, but they must be a
winner for this challenge.
Hello and welcome
back contestants.
And congratulations
on completing well,
almost completing your
garden and patio challenge.
I know for all of you,
this is the first time you've
designed an exterior space for
congratulations. The
designs were incredible.
Let's begin with the
judges feedback team VC,
I'll start with you.
The judges appreciated how
you carried your urban jungle
females into your garden.
Andrew used some architectural
lines in your design was well
appreciated.
However,
they felt that your use of
color could have been maximized
more team. Alison laser,
the judges really appreciated
your use of color and your
whimsical sculpture.
However, being a corner unit,
you should have made provision
for more privacy from your
neighbors team habitat.
The judges loved how you
divided the garden and made
multiple spaces with some
clever design choices.
However,
there were not impressed with
your fake plants and the use
of plastic grass
underneath your cable.
Bri was not a clever
idea as always.
They can only be one winner
and the winner this week walks
away with 10,000 Rand
added to their budget.
It could make or break your
chances in the competition.
The winning design duo,
walking away with that 10,000
Rand added to their budgets.
It is
a BN grad team habitat.
It's very encouraging
tender. Deck me walked me to,
it was us house and we edited.
We try to please
everyone and ourselves,
which was the most
important advise.
And it's nice to know that
you can win just by being
yourself. Congratulations.
Congratulations. They
did like maybe with Todd,
they have like the whole water.
I don't know what you'd call it.
It's a moat. Yeah.
They have great ideas of
and executional ideas.
I'm very happy for Tim habitat.
I enjoyed Thelwell to experience
like it's a very common
guiding and not winning the
10 Kamins who can have the
fucking shot. We won, whatever
the outlook are designed.
Dos can be incredibly proud
of the work they've delivered
thus far.
Now they'll just have to
bring it home as they say,
because in the next episode,
they get started on the final
challenge and there'll be no
time for lounging around if
they want to be crowned as
winners of my design rules.
