Moonshiners (2011–…): Season 3, Episode 4 - More Shiners More Problems - full transcript

Tim Smith hires a person with a checkered past to help at the distillery in Kentucky. Tickle learns how to make moonshine in a copper pot still from one of the best. In North Carolina, Jeff and Mark are surprised by an unexpected ...

Tonight on "Moonshiners"...

A risky daylight bootleg...

...A hired hand with a past...

I'm looking
For somebody.

Well, I've got a little bit
Of a history.

What kind of history?

Penitentiary.

...A rival exposed...

Never know
What you're gonna find.

...And the law closes in.

This don't look good.

This is how we make
The moonshine!

Captions paid for by
Discovery communications

The mississippi bayou
Is wild and deadly.

But the endless tangle
Of waterways

Is the perfect place
To hide moonshine.

Deep inside the 50,000-acre
Pearl river swamp,

Mike is firing up his still.

His partner, shot,
Is keeping a close watch

For the swamp shiner's
Worst enemy --

Game wardens.

They have reason to be cautious.

The penalties for
A first offense are harsh,

Up to three long years

In mississippi's notorious
Prison system.

What you doing up in here?
Fishing?

Yeah.

Shot plays his cards close.

Even a neighbor
Could tip off the law.

There ain't too many people
Knows about this place.

All right.

Thank you.

That boat scared
The hell out of me.

Who was it?
It was john.

Gave us a good scare,
Anyway.

Yeah.

As daylight fades,

Mike and shot
Pick up the pace.

The swamp is no place
To be caught after dark.

Need to get out of here
Before dark.

Either that, or I need to go
Get a light and some batteries.

In kentucky,
The limestone branch distillery

Just got a backwoods upgrade,

Courtesy of moonshiner
Tim smith.

But his partner steve
Isn't on board with the changes.

What is this?

We've got
A two-inch worm,

Double the size
Of the one-inch worm.

Tim's made these changes
To the distillery,

So I need to make some test runs

To make sure
That everything's gonna work.

So, I come in early,

Turn on the steam,
Get the still going,

Then I start to do my paperwork.

What the hell?

That thing's shaking like crazy.

You got things
Rattling and bumping.

I-I-I don't even know
What to do.

Tim,
We've got a problem.

This thumper
Is going crazy --

Shaking and moving
And rattling.

The thumper's
Supposed to be thumping.

I mean,
That's the way it does.

The other thumper
Didn't do like this.

Well, it's bigger.

It's about to jump off
The ledge.

Oh, you're crazy.

It's not gonna jump off
The ledge.

I've never seen
Anything like this.

Just let the thing run.

Is anything coming out?

Nothing's coming out.

It's just making
All kinds of noise --

Racket, racket, racket.

Well, maybe it's getting ready
To come out.

Whoa! Ho-oh!

It's coming off
Like a hose off of there,

Three or four times faster
Than ever before.

So, it's working, but it's
Almost working too good.

Shoot.

Gosh.

Tim, this thing's coming out
Like a gusher.

It's never come out
This fast before.

It'll be okay.
All right.

I-I don't know.

I'll be there
In a few minutes.

Well, hurry.
Okay.

You know, I built this still
Like a hot rod, you know?

This is a souped-up still.

It's like a still on steroids.

I want this thing to roll.

So, I think it come out,

And he wasn't really prepared
For that.

Tim strolls in the door.
He thinks everything's fine.

This is what he's used to.

But I'm used to it
Just coming off nice and steady

And not doing all this.

Hey, what's going on?

You know, when I came in,

He had moonshine
All over the floor

And had containers
Sitting everywhere.

What do you got
All these jars for?

Well, we started off

With just trying to catch it
Like we usually catch it.

And then
It was coming out so fast.

It was coming out everywhere
And over here and there.

I don't know what to do.

I mean, the solution's

Just put a 55-gallon barrel
Under the thing

And just start catching it.

Nah, don't slow it down, man.
Look at that.

See,
That's the difference

In a two-inch pipe
And a one-inch pipe.

Yeah, it never came out
Like that before.

That's like a faucet.

Okay.
Then just let it go in there.

Oh, man.
That's all right, right there.

Liquor is flowing in kentucky,

But up in north carolina,

Wayne is about to shine
For the very first time.

All right.
Appreciate it.

All right.
See you in a little bit.

Buckle up the seat belt.
I'm in it now.

Wayne's already broken

Many of the fundamental rules
Of moonshining,

But he may have just made

The mistake
To end his short career

Because officer chuck
Is patrolling these roads,

Looking for shiners.

15 miles away,

Jeff and mark are going bigger

Than anyone in the region
Has gone in the past 50 years.

The centerpiece
Is the 500-gallon still,

Large enough to land them
In prison for a few years.

Most moonshiners believe

That old still sites
Aren't worth the risk,

But it's clear to these veterans

That this location
Has been abandoned for decades.

Over the blue ridge mountains
In tennessee,

Tickle is doing grunt work
For mark ramsey,

Who's teaching him the ways

Of legendary moonshiner
Popcorn sutton.

This is the last damn run
Of liquor

I'm gonna ever make.

And I guess --

I guess them revenue officers
Will be glad of that,

'cause they won't have
To watch me no damn more.

I'm not a novice moonshiner,

But in this sense,
I'm kind of an apprentice.

Mark's showing me
How to run shine

On a different type of still,

And so,
As any good apprentice knows,

I'm gonna be doing a whole lot
Of the hard work.

He's just here for the knowledge

And to show me
Exactly what I need to be doing.

Mark has spent the last few days

Schooling tickle in the details
Of copper still construction.

Oh, yeah.
Good, tight fit right there.

There you are.

We drained all the liquid
Off of the actual mash

And let it ferment
Without the mash in it.

There's no way
Of scorching it.

You get 40%, 50% more

'cause you've got nothing in it
But pure alcohol.

All right.
What do we need now, the cap?

Yeah, boy.

Mm-hmm.

I'm always happy to see
Liquor come out of that worm.

Right.

But me learning
A new way right here

Ought to make this trip
Really worthwhile.

Ain't nothing to do now
But just hurry up and wait.

How about
I buy you a beer?

You know what?
That sounds good to me.

All right.

While mark
And tickle's mash ferments,

Back in south carolina,

Desperate for cash,
Josh and bill cut

Their last gallons of shine
With fruit

And arrange to meet
An unknown buyer,

But bill got cold feet,
Leaving josh to bootleg solo.

I'm gonna let you run this one
On your own, man.

Whatever, man.

Right now, I'm a little
Aggravated at bill

Because he wants
To leave me out in the cold,

Let me do all the dirty work,

When this is our deal
And we're partners.

Partners are supposed
To stick together.

Josh could be making

The biggest mistake
Of his short shining career,

Because he has no way of knowing

If he's walking
Into a police sting.

Moonshining is a felony,
First offense.

I like to deal with people
I've known my whole life.

And even then,
You still got to worry.

Coming up, tim finds a hand...

I've got a little bit
Of a history.

What kind of history?Penitentiary.

...Tempers flare...

Don't tell me
Damn solder can't fix it, man.

We shouldn't have to fix it.

...And trouble comes knocking.

In south carolina,
Josh is flying solo,

Bootlegging by himself
After bill refused to join him.

Moonshining is a felony.

I like to deal with people
I've known my whole life.

And even then,
You still got to worry.

He's selling
To an untested buyer

And could be walking
Into a trap.

The greatest threat to shiners
Has always been informants.

Just one phone call to the law
From a stool pigeon,

A land owner,
Or a jealous competitor

Can bring down
A moonshine dynasty.

More often than not,

The consequences of informing
Were dire.

Between 1880 and world war I,

Some rural moonshiners formed
White capping clubs.

Dressed in hooded disguises
Reminiscent of the kkk,

They would serve
Their own form of justice

On anyone who had informed
On a clandestine distiller,

Going as far as dynamiting homes
And committing murder.

That was nerve-racking
As hell.

500 bucks.

Not $600.

I got to tell you, man.

I was nervous as hell
Without you being there.

Well, I was nervous you going,
And I hate I bailed on you.

Anything
Could have happened, man.

That could have been
A sting.

That could have been
A setup.

That could have been
Four or five dudes

Beat the crap out of me
And rob me.

I just didn't feel good
About riding with you.

Didn't want to put my name
On something

I was gonna put fruit on.

I wasn't ready for it.Well, that's why I was pissed.

If you're not proud
Of that liquor,

Then let's make some
That you areproud of.

We just got to keep trying
Till we get it right.

I still think that if we can get
Downsized a little bit

With a copper pot,

At some point soon,
We're gonna have something

That we both
Can be proud of.

I know we needed
That money,

But we buy
A couple sheets of copper,

And we'll be back
In business.

Right on.

But time is running out.

The strawberry mash may have
Already turned to vinegar.

Over in kentucky,
Tim and his partner steve

Are on edge
After a rocky test run

Of tim's modified still.

Their clashing styles
Have tim starting to question

His life as a legal moonshiner.

So, right now,
It's only me and steve there,

And then sometimes
One of us has to go somewhere

And do something
And get supplies or whatever.

So it's really too much
For one person to do.

I think we're gonna have to hire
Some more people.

How's it going?Hey, how are ya?

You work here?

Yeah, I work a little bit.
You got me some sugar?

Yeah.
Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Just drop it off right there.
That's good.

Hey, you wouldn't mind

Helping me with that hand truck,
Would ya?

You can put them on there?

Yeah, I can do it.

I need some help around here.
I ain't got no help.

All right. All right.

Hold right there.
Yeah, that's good.

You're a big boy.
I'll say that.

Mom and daddy
Took care of me.

I need
Somebody like that --

Strong -- that can
Carry these bags around.

This is the kind of person
I'm looking for --

A good, hard worker who can
Handle some corn and sugar bags.

I think it would
Be a good match, really.

I really need some help.

Hard for me to find a job.
I take this temp job stuff.

I got a little bit of a history,
A little background.

Yeah?
What kind of history?

I've been to penitentiary.

When I was younger, I done
Some wilder things, you know.

My debt to society
Has been paid,

But still,
That follows me around.

I can feel for him,
And I understand that,

But it looks like
He's a good, hard worker.

He's served his time.

And, you know, right now,
He just needs a job.

Steve has been preaching about
Rules and regulations,

So I think he can be great
Because he's been in prison,

So he had to do exactly what
They told him to do to make it.

If you want to leave this job,
Come to work over here.

This is a full-time job.

I mean,
A really full-time job.

There's a lot of work. That sounds good, man.

I mean,
I appreciate that. Really.

I mean, you point at it.

If I don't know how to do it,
I'll learn.

My kind of man.

Chico.
Chico. Okay.

Yeah.
Okay, chico. I'm tim.

Oh, okay. Yeah.

Tim and chico.
How about that?

They could be
A good match.

Back in north carolina,

The summer rains
Have come early,

Drenching the entire region.

After a week-long shutdown,

Mark and jeff can no longer
Afford to wait for clear skies.

They need to get up and running.

Once complete, the trough
Will carry spring water

Down to the site
To cool the worm.

In south carolina,

Josh and bill took the money
From the shine sale

And invested in copper.

What are we doing?

We're getting set up,
Ain't we?

They're going to shift focus
This year

To distilling quality shine,
But they've got to build fast.

Three weeks ago, they mashed in
Two truckloads of strawberries,

And it's ready for distillation.

We've got
An ass of strawberries.

why not build a big still?

What if we go, like, 30?

No, that's too much.

We're gonna run out
Of copper.

What if we go, like,
28 inches?

28. We'll make it
28 inches around.

196 times 3.14.

No, 28 wide. 28 wide.

Bill's wanting to get
All technical with this.

I bet he said
25 kazillion numbers,

And my head's about to explode.

28 wide by 28 high,
Divided by --

But then it's just a square.

Almost there.
Hold on a second.

I got experience with metalwork

And working with copper,
As well.

I've never put
A copper still together.

How's that possible?

You can get
Technical with it later.

Just ready
To get this show on the road.

In north carolina,

Newcomer wayne has managed
To set up his still...

You show me
How we all do this.

Okeydoke.

...And he's ready to brew
His first batch of shine.

I guess when you're the rookie,
You have to do the grunt work.

You think we can get this run
By tonight?

Why, sure.

I know
I'm in a rush right now,

But I just got pressure on me
To get this stuff run.

Well, I got a lot
Riding on this.

I sure appreciate
You coming over here to help me.

Think that's level enough?

I got
To get this stuff run,

And if we've got
To shut it down tonight...

Right.

I got a lot of money
Tied in this.

If I don't get it right,
If I've lost my money,

I probably won't be able
To do this.

I'll probably
Just have to quit.

Right.

You think I can do this
By myself?

Well,
Let's get out of here, then,

Before we get
Lightning struck.

Coming up,
Tickle brews high octane...

That's 180 proof.

The damn batmobile
Will run on that, buddy.

...And mike's got
Some new competition.

You never know
What you're gonna find.

In kentucky,

The workload at the distillery
Is piling up.

So tim made
An executive decision

And hired an assistant.

The only problem --

He still needs to tell steve.

Steve,
What are you doing there?

Are you measuring something
Again?

Yeah,
Measuring and recording.

More documentation.

Yep. You see that?

Writing more stuff down.

There's a little bit of
Tension between me and steve.

Steve is all
Into his legal documentation,

And I'm into making moonshine.

Well, steve, I've been thinking
About this thing.

You know, I made a mistake
On the still a little bit

And crinkled up
The condenser.

Well, I've just always
Been in a hurry of
Getting things done,

And if something happens,
I just fix it.

I've just been in a hurry
Trying to get things going.

Slow down. Slow down.
Write things down.

I mean, I know I don't have
To worry about getting arrested

Or getting caught
Or nothing,

But I'm still trying to make
As much moonshine as I can

In an amount of time.

Well, yeah.

So, I think
We ought to hire somebody.

It's an extra hand in the back
To help with everything,

And then maybe we can train him
To do documentation, too.

Right, yeah.

A lot of people
Looking for work right now.

Yeah. Yeah.

And I think
That with this business,

The way it's moving,

We're probably gonna need
More than one.

So, you agree
We can hire somebody?

We can look for somebody.

I'm kind of used to having
A sidekick.

I'm not a sidekick.

yeah, I know. I know.

You're documentation man.

Tim's not the only dog
Learning new tricks.

Over in tennessee,
Tickle is minutes away

From his first run
Of the season.

There we go!

You're gonna get this thing
Pasted up?

Right now seems to be
About the right time.

If this works,

Tickle will be one of the few
Shiners in the country

Who can trace their techniques
To the master --

Popcorn sutton.

Popcorn says that he made
Enough damn paste in his life

To make every man, woman,
And young'un in maggie valley

A biscuit.

I don't doubt that.

You know what, tickle?

There ain't a lot right there
To do.

That's a damn cadillac fit
Right there.

I'm pretty happy with it.
The cap's looking good.

We're gonna have liquid
Out of here any time, tickle.

Ahp. Looky here.

Yeah, we got to catch that.
You know what we talked about.

That's right. Yeah,
You got the clean the pipes out.

There we go.Clean the pipes out.

Let's see
What we got going on here.

It's the first run
Of the season,

And for tickle,
It's the first time making shine

Without his mentor, tim.

Yeah, we've caught that
Little bit of that.

If I can hold this up,
I might not lose much in here.

All right.

This right here
Will tell

Whether you've made better milk
Or damn hard liquor, won't it?

You're right.
Let's see what we got.

The flash point of moonshine

Depends
On its alcohol content.

The sustained flame means

An alcohol content of 90%,
Or 180 proof.

She's damn sure burning.

That's 180 proof
Right there.

The damn batmobile
Will run on that, buddy.

Looks like
You've pulled it off, tickle.

You know what?
Wepulled it off, mark.

Fair enough.

I was worried about taking over
This large territory

That tim left to me,

And this right here,
It's gonna get me going,

And I'm gonna flood my community
With liquor.

I think we've done
Something great here today.

I do, too.

Tickle's new copper pot still

Will yield about 10 gallons
Of liquor per run,

But back in north carolina,

Mark and jeff have built
A backwoods moonshine factory

Able to crank out
10 times that amount,

And it's about to go live.

...And mix it up in there.

It's a felony charge

If a shiner gets caught with
Mash at the still,

But mark and jeff
Are going to take the risk.

While jeff and mark
Burn evidence...

Josh and bill struggle
To get the numbers right.

You're gonna add
3/4 to either side.

No, no.It's gonna be 83 1/4.

But that don't mean
Anything to me.

Well, that's after 3/4.

You're confusing
The piss out of me

With all these numbers.

You're, like, throwing numbers
All over the place.

It's gonna be 83 1/4.

Working with bill
Sometimes is tough.

We'll add 1/8.

My patience level
Only goes so far.

He's wanting
To get all precise with it

So we don't waste copper,

But I'm just wanting
To throw the thing together.

I'm gonna have this much
Of a bend on either side?

Yes. Yes.

That's all I care about.

Light and easy to bend,

Copper has been preferred
By moonshiners for centuries.

Got the basic shape
Of our can knocked out.

Got to working on our top
And our bottom lip.

But those lightweight properties

Also make it delicate
And susceptible to tearing.

Uh-oh.

I got in a little bit of a hurry
With the pliers,

And I split the thing.

Well, it's getting
Out of control. It was.

It was getting out of control
When you tore it.

That's when
It got out of control.

We can solder it back up.

Jumping the gun,
Destroying some *bleep*

Don't tell me damn solder
Can't fix it, man.

Well, why --
We shouldn't have to fix it.

I don't know
What the hell's up with bill.

He'll spend
Hours and hours and hours

Thinking about something
To get it just right,

And then,
When he puts his hands on it,

He has to go and tear the seam.

But that ain't gonna take

No longer than 30 seconds
To fix, damn it.

It took longer for you
To holler at me about it

Than it's gonna take
To fix.

I'm not gonna argue
No more today.

Let's just throw it together.

It's crazy. Teamwork.

In southern mississippi,

Shot is expecting mike

For another day of shining
On the swamp.

But mike got a call
From a client with an emergency.

Hey.

Find your way
With no problem?

No problem at all.

Good.

You got one giving you
A little trouble, huh?

Yeah.

Mike's not only
A moonshiner.

He's also a dentist --
For horses.

Old cruiser.

What you doing,
Big man?

Good boy.

There you go.

He's my good boy.

Yeah,
He's got some points.

What is he, about 4?

He's a 3-year-old.
Is he?

Got a few horses of my own,

And learned to do the dentistry
So I can take care of them.

And I do a few for some friends
From time to time.

I thought he might
Be losing some caps, too.

Yeah,
It may be about time.

Well, I'll get my stuff.
We can go ahead and do him.

Well, if you'll take him

Wherever you want to get
With him,

I got to run up to the house
Right quick.

And I'll be right back
If that's okay.

All right. Go ahead.I won't be but a minute.

I'll be right here.

Coming up,
Wayne's on his own...

...And time's up
For josh and bill.

It's been a little while
Since we looked at it.

That's wine, for sure.

It's ready to run,

And we ain't even got
Our still finished yet.

I don't know
What we're gonna do.

In mississippi,

Mike may be taking a break
From the swamp,

But he can't get away
From moonshine.

I can't believe
What I just found.

I come here to check
These horses' teeth

And get to looking,

And right over the fence
From where I'm working there,

Darlene's got a whiskey still.

That's a pretty nice old still.

Why would she have it
Right out here in the open?

I mean, anybody can see it.

There's people going
And coming here all the time,

Bringing horses in,
Taking horses out,

People working for her.

You know they're gonna talk.

You never know
What you're gonna find.

Didn't mean
To take so long.

That's okay. That's okay.
I've been having fun.

I had to go get
An extension cord down here,

And I don't know

If I was supposed to be
Wandering around in here or not,

But...

I didn't know
You made moonshine.

I didn't say I did.

Well, you got a still

Setting here
In your barn.

Just my little
Conversation piece.

You just better be careful

Because any of your competition
Around here hears about it,

They may mention it to somebody,

Just try to knock you
Out of the way.

Yep.

You know, the law hears about it
In any kind of a way,

They may come in here
And bust you.

I'm aware of all that.

It's your business.

I was just gonna warn you.
You better be careful.

Mike has a rival shiner
In his own backyard.

For darlene,
Now that she's exposed,

It won't be long
Before trouble comes knocking.

In south carolina,

After having burned
Almost an entire day fighting,

Josh and bill take a break
To check on the strawberry mash.

It's been a little while
Since we looked at it.

If the mash hasn't turned
To vinegar,

They can turn it into brandy
Worth $200 tax-free a gallon.

That's wine.

It is. I mean,
It's definitely wine.

That's wine for sure.

It's pretty much
Ready to run,

And we ain't even got
Our still finished yet.

Man,
My mash is ready to run.

We still don't have
Our still together.

I don't know
What we're gonna do.

I'm hoping
It don't turn into vinegar

Before we can get it done.

Well,
Let's get our still built.

Up in north carolina,

Jeff and mark put their
New still through one last test.

They're behind schedule,

But these final paces

Could save them
Weeks of time down the road.

Throw a little mud around
This thing, and we'll be done.

While you're doing that,
I'll gather us up some kindling.

Okeydoke.

Once a fire burns hot enough,
It stops putting off smoke.

But if the wet wood
Keeps the flames down,

The smoke will become
Overwhelming

And jeff and mark
Will be sitting ducks.

While jeff and mark fire up,

Rookie shiner wayne tries
To make up time lost

To yesterday's rainout.

Smells good.

But jim tom is m.I.A.,

Leaving wayne
To distill on his own.

- Well, it's got to work today.
- I got the sunshine.

I don't have any excuses now,
So it's gonna have to go.

It all depends on me,
So got to make it work.

I've lost my job.

I can't quit.
I've got to keep going.

Really, it's frustrating.

It's been a pain in the ass
Right now.

But my son's counting on me.

I've told him,

"Hey, I'm gonna do this for you
No matter what."

All right.

Let's see some moonshine.

Ooh, it's getting hot.

Come on, baby.

Let's see some moonshine.

Moonshiners are careful

To make sure
The still has no leaks.

If high-proof vapor
Leaking from a still

Reaches the flame under the pot,

The result will be
A deadly fireball explosion.

I got a lot riding on this.

Yeah, I kind of wish
Jim tom was here.

All right, man.

Whew!

As the first few drops of
Moonshine flow from the worm,

Wayne can begin to call himself
A moonshiner.

We're getting alcohol now.

Coming up...

Crap.

Drinking and bowling,
They just go good together.

I can't count
The people that I know

That go to the bowling alley
Perfectly straight,

And by the time they leave,
They're just hammered.

And you know what?

They're having
The best times of their life.

Man.

You know, maybe if I drink
A little bit more,

I'd be a little bit
Better bowler.

Oh *bleep*

Lebanon, kentucky.

Day one at the distillery
For tim's new assistant, chico.

There's some more
Blackberry.

Hey, tim.

Hey, steve.

How's it going?

This is chico.Hey.

Chico delivered some sugar
For us.

Right.
So, what's he doing?

Oh, he's helping me out.

And actually, that was
A temporary job for him,

And I told him I needed
A full-time worker.

So I gave him a full-time job
Working at the distillery.

So now he works for us.

So, you --
You hired him?

Yeah.

We got a whole lot of work
To do, and I needed some help.

I think
We need to talk about this.

Can you give us a minute?

Yeah, no problem.

Take a smoke break
Or whatever.

Yeah, no problem.

So...

So?
What's up?

You --
You hired somebody?

I mean,
He's been delivering sugar.

We need to go through
The procedures.

I mean, I didn't know we had
A procedure for hiring somebody.

Yeah, I got a procedure
For everything we do.

I come in,
And tim's sitting there,

And he's hired
Someone off the street,

Not following procedure.

He's just going with his gut.

And it's driving me crazy.

I don't know
Anything about him.

I don't usually hire people
I don't know anything about.

I needed some help,
So I asked him.

I told him I needed
A worker.

Well,
You can't hire somebody

Until you do
The proper paperwork.

Well, I kind of want to see

How he works out,
Probably, first, you know.

Drug test, references,
Background check.

He is a felon.

He's been to prison,
Served his time.

He served his probation.
He's a real clean-cut guy.

He's gonna do
What you tell him to do.

Back in the woods,
I could just hire somebody.

If I trust them
And they're a good, hard worker,

Then they got a job.

We can do him
On a temporary basis,

Then we got to fill out
All the paperwork

And see
How it shakes out.

He had a temporary job
When he came here.

He can have
A temporary job.

All right. That works.

Okay. Thank you.
All right.

Tickle's on the road
To virginia.

He's bringing back
A taste of tennessee --

A brand-new copper still,

And gallons
Of high-quality shine.

Well, I'm heading back
To virginia.

I had a great trip to tennessee.

Mark, he's a great guy.

And at the end of it,
He told me, "You know what --

"Take the liquor.

Take the still.
It's for you."

Nobody can ask
For much more than that.

Crap.

In north carolina,

Jeff and mark are trying
To make enough mash

To feed
Their 500-gallon mega-still.

Once they fire up,

They'll need nine barrels
Ready to go at all times

To operate 24 hours a day.

Next time on "Moonshiners"...

New shiners
Put it all on the line.

There's a lot of risk
In moonshining,

But that's a chance
You have to take.

*bleep*

I see somebody coming
Right now.

Veterans fall behind.

Mnh. Damn.

Oh, no.

What's our total length?

Oh *bleep*

Damn you.

Great.

Two years in the project,

And we still don't have
Any *bleep* moonshine.

Damn!

The competition is heating up.

Mercy!

That's hot liquor.

There it goes.
Look at that black smoke.

Now, that's a fire!
