Have gone to extreme lengths

To keep their activities hidden.

One infamous group from chicago
Dressed up like milkmen,

Delivering milk bottles
Filled with shine

Throughout the territory.

Another group of bootleggers
Used a hearse

And stashed the shine
In coffins.

The more creative the disguise,

The longer a bootlegger stayed
In business.

I need to get about 24 gallons

And I'll have enough
To cover new orleans.

On a single night

Eight separate stills exploded
In brooklyn, new york,

Leaving six firemen
Clinging to life.

On august 28, 1928,
In the town of ronald, illinois,

A still exploded
Under a pool hall.

The shiner died
In the explosion,

And 128 people were left
Homeless from the ensuing fire.

Even small stills
Can cause massive destruction.
