Moonshiners (2011–…): Season 3, Episode 1 - Time to Shine - full transcript

It's the start of moonshine season! Moonshiners Jeff and Mark, and partners Josh and Bill hit the ground running. Meanwhile, veteran shiner Tim Smith will make a life-changing move, and Tickle is forced to realize that his time to...

Tonight on the season premiere
Of "Moonshiners"...

We're gonna make wine.
We gonna make shine.

I've been a failure

At just about everything
I've ever did.

There's a lot of people
Out there

That's depending
On this moonshine to be made.

You son of a bitch!

Hey, tim.

I don't mess around, dude.

This is how we make
The moonshine.

Hidden deep within the hollows

Of a forgotten corner
Of america,

The long days of summer
Have returned

To the mountains of appalachia.

And that means one thing --

It's moonshine season.

The centuries-old war rages on.

Crap.

Moonshiners
Across the region are zeroing in

On the hundred-million-dollar
Jackpot,

Every bit of it tax-free.

It's every man for himself.

Territory will be conquered.

Hey, you got anything illegal
In the vehicle?

Outsiders will be destroyed.

What the hell is going on?

Victory goes
To the last shiner standing.

In a remote corner of virginia,

A legendary moonshiner
Is heading to the woods,

Just like he's done
Every season

For the past 40 years.

If someone wanted to learn
How to make moonshine illegally,

How to beat the law,
How to get away with something,

Then they should call me.

You know, I can give you
Some experience

On how to beat the system.

There's a lot of other guys
At there biting at the bit.

They want to get in on it.

Everybody wants to get in
On this moonshine business,

And, you know,
There's money to be made.

You know, get in there
And get it if you can.

But tim has made a decision

That's going to send shock waves
Across appalachia.

Going legal.

I'm leaving
The illegal business behind.

I'm doing
What I really want to do.

He's partnering
With a distillery in kentucky.

But before he leaves,
Tim wants to say goodbye

To a place that's been
A second home to him

For as long as he can remember.

My dad used the same site.
I used the same site.

Me and tickle
Was down here together.

Never been found.

Kind of push
And come on with it.

We just had
A good, successful run.

I think we need
Another taste test.

Oh. Need another drink.

If it ain't no good,
It sinks.

This is about where
It all got started right here.

Tickle and I came down
Many years ago,

And we started this thing
Just in this one location

That we standing at right now.

This is home for me.
I know every tree out here.

I know exactly where I'm at,

But going back
To this legal business,

Hey, it's gonna be challenging,
But I'm ready for it.

I want to get out there
And do it.

Shiners don't take kindly

To one of their own going legal.

And with rumors
That tim is packing it in,

The scent of blood
Is in the water.

Upstart moonshiners are swarming
For a piece of his empire.

But tim's territory
Isn't the only region in flux.

Across appalachia,
Rumors are flying

Of new shiners
Disrupting the old ways.

Authorities found
A moonshine still inside a shed.

20 gallons of moonshine
Were recovered.

Police want to send
A loud-and-clear message

That moonshine is illegal.

A search of the pickup truck
Revealed this.

They found four cardboard boxes,

And inside each box
Was 6 gallons of moonshine.

For the virginia department
Of alcoholic beverage control,

Moonshine is a constant problem.

Nowhere is the increase
In moonshine more evident

Than in graham county,
North carolina.

Though the season
Has just begun,

Deputy sheriff chuck stewart
Is already facing

An influx
Of illegal moonshiners

The likes of which
He's never seen before.

It's hard to find
Where they set up

Their stills and everything,
You know?

So it's a lot of work.

Demand for moonshine
Is increasing across the region,

And new moonshiners
Are descending on the territory

Like a plague of locusts.

The spike in moonshining

Has the entire region
On high alert.

Shiners will fiercely protect
Their territory,

And small arguments can escalate
Into an all-out turf war.

Meanwhile, only 10 miles away...

...One group of shiners
Is already preparing

To defend themselves
At all costs.

Moonshiners jeff and mark
Meet up for target practice

With jeff's son, lance,

In the secluded
North carolina woods.

Well, my glasses
Fogged up on that.

Jeff and mark
Are hardcore traditionalists

Who spent
Much of the last season

Perfecting the recipe
And quality of their product,

But they couldn't
Keep up with customer demand.

Smaller shiners
Were quick to swoop in

With inferior product.

It was a costly mistake,

One that jeff
Won't let happen again.

Make a lot of it.

In order to monopolize
The moonshine market,

Jeff and mark are going bigger
Than anyone

In the region has gone
In the past 50 years.

It's a departure
From traditional methods,

But stainless steel
Is the only material

That will allow jeff and mark
To build something

That can hold 500 gallons,

Large enough to flood the market
With their superior shine.

But a 500-gallon still
Isn't going to be easy to hide.

Last season, jeff and mark's
Business got off the ground

Due in large part
From the help of their mentor,

Legendary moonshiner jim tom.

But after a falling out,

Jeff and mark have chosen
To continue moonshining

Without their longtime mentor.

Well, I'm not gonna be
With jeff and mark this year.

But for jeff and mark,

The split
Wasn't just about money.

It was about trust.

Jim tom is instead teaming up
With a moonshiner

He's known for 60 years --
His buddy roy.

They'll be making smaller
Batches of their own shine,

Building traditional
Copper stills

In the same way
They've been built

For the past 150 years.

Well, I come out
To help jim and stuff,

Try to get all this to going

And get some good
Cough medicine.

I've got a bad case of it,

And I need something
To break it down

Every once in a while.

Oh, yeah.

Ow!

While jim tom and roy
Are just getting the rust off,

In spartanburg county,
South carolina,

Novice moonshiners josh and bill
Are dead in the water.

Much better.

After spending
More time fighting

Than shining last season,

They've been forced to return
To their day jobs.

It does seem like that every
Project me and josh work on,

Every idea he's got,
Even if he's mostly right,

I seem to have to throw
The counter argument in there.

I'm not a know-it-all,
And I don't claim to be,

But when I see a mistake
And I know how to correct it --

He likes to roll with it
For some reason, and I don't.

He just wants to
*bleep* damn argue

Because he wants to prove

That nobody's gonna tell him
A *bleep* thing.

Had last season gone
As planned for josh and bill,

They might be in
A very different place today,

But their clashing personalities
And downright bad luck

Prevented any hope of success.

Last year was a nightmare.

We failed and failed
And failed and failed.

This is
A major catastrophe.

By the end of the season,

Josh and bill were left
With a mountain of debt

And a measly
4 gallons of moonshine.

Right now we're thousands
And thousands of dollars

In the hole.

But their luck
May be about to change.

Hello.

Hey, josh. It's warren.

Hey, what's going on?

A buddy of mine
Owns a big farm,

And he grows strawberries
And a lot of other fruit,

And his strawberry crop
Was devastated this year

By all this rain we've had.

They got little water spots
On them.

Right on.
That sounds good.

We really could recoup

A lot of money
With that much free mash.

All right, see you soon.

Hey, bill.

Yep, yep.

Hey, bill.

Hey, man.

Hey, I just got us
Four dump-truckloads

Of fresh strawberries.

Huh?

I just got us
Four dump-truckloads

Of fresh strawberries.

That's a lot of liquor.

Coming up on "Moonshiners"...

Rival shiners
Turn up the heat...

Ah *bleep*

It just don't even feel right,
Tim not being here with me.

...A trusted site
Is compromised...

You smell that?

...And with the law
On their heels,

Moonshiners will do anything
To protect their territory.

In graham county,
North carolina,

Deputy sheriff chuck stewart
Is dealing with the fallout

Of a deluge of new moonshiners
In his region.

He's already discovered
The first sign of trouble --

A bullet-ridden still
No more than a few days old.

I'm not sure what went on here,

If somebody's mad at somebody
Or what,

But they shot this still

A whole bunch here
It looks like.

They pretty much emptied
A magazine on that.

Chuck fears it's a sign
Of an impending turf war.

I see some casing right there.

Looks like where
They shot it from, probably.

.45.

Looks like they probably
Been standing

Right here somewhere
When they shot.

This is the worm right here.

As you can see, this has been
Damaged a little bit.

Somebody's damaged it.

But this location here,

Somebody is doing our work
For us.

I'm sure somebody's gonna be
Very upset when they get back

And see their still and stuff
Here is messed up.

If they find out who done it,

Then they'll definitely
Try to get revenge

For stealing their site here.

Violence
Has always gone hand in hand

With moonshine mountain culture.

The mix of money, alcohol,

And settling scores
Without the law

Has made revenge between rival
Moonshine gangs all too common.

The 1949 moonshine murders
In daisy, tennessee,

Are a prime example
Of shiners at war.

It all started
When moonshiner david wilcox

Was killed driving his car

Through an ambush
Of rifle and shotgun fire.

As retribution,
Restaurant owner george trusley

Was killed the same way.

The feud sparked up again
Two years later

When shiners william parker
And raymond bell

Were bludgeoned to death
With an ax.

No convictions resulted.

These murders
Were the direct result

Of rival moonshine gangs
Competing

For the same territory,

Something that jeff and mark
Should keep in mind

As they set out to run
The biggest shine operation

The region has seen
In the past 50 years.

Today jeff begins work

On the enormous
Stainless steel still

That will produce
Mass quantities of their shine.

It'll last a lot longer.

Stainless steel
Will also allow jeff

To build the still five times
Larger than last year.

Once completed, their new still
Will hold up to 500 gallons.

120 miles to the southwest,
In south carolina,

Josh and bill have received
An offer

For truckloads
Of free strawberries,

Enough to make them
Major players in the region.

Let's get these barrels
Good and clean.

With no money for moonshining
This season,

The free fruit, which they can
Distill into brandy,

Could completely reverse
Their fortune.

But the fruit
Is already overripe,

And the clock is ticking.

One of the things
That bothers me the most

About all these strawberries
We're going to pick up

Is we're gonna have to mash
In with them immediately

'cause they're gonna go bad
If we don't,

And we don't even have
Our still built yet.

I can't believe we scored
A damn dump-truckload, man.

When you're making fruit,

It takes about two weeks
To work off.

We definitely
Don't want the stuff

Turning to vinegar on us

Before we got time
To run it down.

To make strawberry brandy,

Crushed strawberries, water,
And sugar are combined.

Then yeast is added
For the fermentation to begin.

Over time, the yeast
Consumes and digests the sugars,

Giving off alcohol.

The raw alcohol
Is then distilled

To create the highly valued
Final product --

Strawberry brandy.

Just one gallon
Can yield as much as $200.

And best of all, it's tax-free.

Oh, my god, dude.

Looky there, man.

He got two dump-truckloads
Full of these things, man.

Damn right.

This is strawberry heaven
Or what?

Hey, you got to watch out.
A lot of them got worms in them.

Worms or not,
They make good wine.

We struck gold
On this, man.

I don't mess around,
Dude.

You can see he wasn't joking.
We literally got

A dump-truckload
Full of strawberries.

I've been worried sick about
Where we're gonna get money

To get our corn and sugar from.

The heavens opened up.

Down came the strawberries.

They're still edible.

There's a couple rotten spots
On them here and there.

They're not pretty enough
For people to buy,

But they're definitely
Beautiful enough for us
To make wine out of.

We're gonna pull the stems off
All these! Oh, man, yeah!

I don't want to jinx us,

But this thing's like
A total turnaround for us.

Everything we've been doing
Has been bad luck, bad luck,

But it looks like
The wind is a-changing.

If I could have done
Snow angels,

I would have done
Strawberry angels

In the middle of this pile.

495 gallons.

We're gonna make wine.
We gonna make shine.

I'm so excited, I don't know
What to do with myself.

The next step is to get
Some sugar and some yeast

In these barrels,
Get these things mashed in,

Make some shine.

Meanwhile, 250 miles
To the northeast, in virginia,

Tim smith is about to leave
For kentucky,

But first, he needs to tie up
One final loose end.

I think it's time
To go by and see tickle.

Just gonna turn everything over
To him and let him roll with it.

With the demand
For illegal moonshine

High in this territory,

Tim plans to hand all of his
Contacts and equipment

Over to his former partner,
Tickle,

And let him
Continue the business.

I know he cando it,
He has potential to do it,

But I just know
It's a lot of pressure.

'cause there's a lot of people
Out there that's depending on

This moonshine to be made
The way it's always been made

And the traditions
And the heritage,

And I'm just not for sure

How well he's gonna handle
Those challenges.

Tickle will need to produce vast
Quantities of high-quality shine

To keep tim's contacts
Satisfied.

Damn.

Tickle.

How's you been?Hey. I'm doing all right.

Yeah.

Well, tickle, you know,
I've been gradually

Trying to get out of the illegal
Moonshining business,

And it's kind of a point
Where I got to turn it loose.

That's kind of
What I'm here today for.

I just want to hand it
Over to you.

I feel like you've been working
With me a long time

And you always knew, you know,
My move, my next move.

I didn't have to tell you.Well, I appreciate that.

And I'm not gonna be around.

Once I jump over that fence

And I'm going to the legal side
Of this business,

I can't have any ties
To the illegal side.

You know,
I can't go backwards.

No coming back.
That's for sure.

Every decision you make is gonna
Affect a lot of other people.

Even though you may not see them
Or don't know them,

There's a lot of people involved
In this network.

I'd rather for you to take it
Than anybody else take it.

Yeah, it's a big responsibility,
But I definitely want it.

I'm proud that you chose me
To hand this off to.

All right? Good?Yeah.

Happy?I appreciate it, tim.

I really do.

I have all this territory now

To supply liquor to that tim
Has just handed over to me.

I'm gonna try to do as best
As I can to make you proud.

Yeah.

You'll do all right.

Just don't get in trouble.

It ain't gonna be easy.

I got too many people
Counting on me to supply liquor.

We'll see you, tim.

And I just don't know
What I'm gonna do.

Coming up...
Man, these things is heavy.

You son of a bitch!

It's not fit for humans
To be hanging out down there,

Let alone to be trying to make
Liquor down there.

Where's cutie pie?

Cutie pie.

Cutie pie.

In spartanburg county,
South carolina,

Josh and bill
Have just picked up

Nearly 500 gallons
Of free strawberries

That they hope to turn into
Expensive strawberry brandy.

If they can successfully
Pull it off,

They could become a major source
Of liquor in the area

And pay off
Their mountain of debt.

I'm not very good with math,

But if we got 500 gallons
Of mashed-up strawberries,

We should be able to easily get

Over a thousand gallons of mash
Out of these, easily.

First step --
Crushing the strawberries

To get the fermentation started.

I got a power drill
And something of a paint tool

That we're stirring
These things up with,

Trying to bust
The strawberries down.

They have no time to waste.

Mash is going to turn quickly
In the hot south carolina sun.

With the temperature
What it is out here,

Just getting these things
Busted up,

They're already starting
To ferment.

Need like three or four
Of these things going at once

On one of these barrels.

We've got all the berries
Busted up.

They're already
Starting to work,

But the next step is to add

A little sugar
And a little yeast,

Just to give it
A little bit of extra boost.

There's one.There's two.

There's three.There's four.

The yeast
Starts working immediately.

Fermentation
Has officially begun.

The mash must get into a still
In a matter of days,

Or the whole batch
Will turn to vinegar.

In north carolina,
Jeff and mark are working

To make more moonshine
Than they ever have before

By building
An enormous 500-gallon

Stainless steel still.

This still is the linchpin

In their plan to corner
The market on moonshine

And expand into new territories.

If we can get set up
Without anybody seeing us,

I ain't worried
About it.

I think many people got pots
This size, or have they?

Once completed,
The giant still will be moved

To a remote site
Where jeff and mark

Can make moonshine 24/7
And dominate the region.

In south carolina, josh and bill
Could get knocked out

Before they even get started.

They need to find
Somewhere to shine

Before their strawberry mash
Turns to vinegar.

They're heading
To the underground site

They built last season
As a tribute to their friend

The legendary moonshiner
Barney barnwell.

The spirit of barney
Will always be on this farm.

We wouldn't be anywhere
Without the man.

Last season, disaster struck

When they were driven out
Of the site by toxic mold.

It was months
Before they could come back.

You notice it don't smell
Like mold down here no mold?

I don't see
No mold neither.

It's finally mold-free.

Let's see what we got.

You smell that?

Nothing but mold.

We opened that hole,

It was like the mold
About knocked us down.

You could have cut it
With a knife.

Heavy rains
And hot south carolina weather

Created the perfect environment
For mold.

There's some blue mold
On that railing right there

And white mold all over it.

It's not fit for humans
To be hanging out down there,

Let alone to be trying to make
A batch of mash.

I can't imagine
What all that mold would do

To a batch of liquor.

Your mash would probably be
Moldy all the time.

Where's cutie pie?

Cutie pie.

Cutie pie.

Cutie pie,
Get out of there.

Come here, baby.

You don't need to be down there
Breathing that mold, girl.

That mold ain't no better
For her than it is for us.

But mold growth isn't
Josh and bill's only problem.

Those ain't my beer cans.

They your beer cans?

That ain't
My brand of beer, bro.

Ain't mine neither.

Somebody been down here.

We knew
When we built this thing

It was gonna get discovered
At some point,

But now everybody
And their brother

Seems to know about it.

It ain't a secret no more.

I'm still having a hard time
Just with the concept --

As much work
As we put in this thing

That we ain't gonna be able
To make liquor out of it.

I hate to leave
This place behind,

But it might
Just be best for us

To start back
From scratch again.

We're either stupid
Or half-crazy.

I don't know which one it is.

It's heartbreaking to work
On something for two years

And then your hopes and dreams
Just go down the drain.

I'm really disgusted.

I know we set out to build
A memorial for barney.

That's what we done.

So, it's still serving
A purpose.

We're back to square one.

We're just gonna have to
Figure it out.

While josh and bill regroup,

Tim smith is finally
Hitting the road.

He has 300 miles to go before
He hits the kentucky border

To distill moonshine legally.

He's cutting all ties

To the illegal
Moonshine business

Built by his father
And grandfather

And turning over the reins
To his former partner, tickle.

I'm gonna try to do as best
As I can to make you proud.

You'll do all right.

With the illegal business
Now in tickle's control,

He heads to the old still site
To see what can be salvaged.

Hadn't been down here
In a while.

Hopefully everything
We left down here's

Still in good shape
And I can use it.

Over the years, tim and tickle

Used this location to produce

Thousands of gallons
Of moonshine.

But they would be hard-pressed
To produce anything here today.

Well...

The water source
Ain't looking too good.

That's ice-cold right now,
And it's right warm out,

And
It smells good.

So maybe I can dam it back up,
Maybe reinforce it a little bit

And keep on going here.

Ah *bleep*

Aah.

Tim's old 800-gallon still pots

Could be useful to tickle

But only
If they'll still hold mash.

Can see daylight
Through that thing

Down there at the bottom.

This wood, it's in bad shape.

If I can use the water,

I need to get these pots
Out of here.

Man, these things is heavy.

You son of a bitch!

Well, that definitely
Ain't something

I'm gonna be able to do
By myself.

I think this site's
Done seen its day.

I don't think there's
A whole lot I can do with it.

I don't even know
Why I'm down here now.

It just don't even feel right
Being down here at this site

And tim not being here with me.

Coming up...

I may not have hit him,

But I scared the *bleep*
Out of him, anyway.

In north carolina,

Jeff and mark
Are deep in the backwoods.

They've got a plan to take over
Their entire region.

But first,
They need a remote base camp

To hide their giant still.

Their new operation will produce
10 times the amount of shine,

Which means they need a steady
Supply of cool running water.

But the site has to be secure.

There are only two reasons
A shiner would abandon

A site this remote...

...They've been pushed out
By rivals...

...Or they've been taken down
By the law.

Just a few miles away,

One such lawman
Is preparing for the worst.

The more you can come up
The range,

The better off you'll be.

We carry rifles,
Plenty of ammunition.

I don't want to get shot up

From a lack of shooting back,
For sure, so...

You know, you just carry
Whatever you need to make sure

You're gonna come out on top.

That's the main thing.
Go home at the end of the day.

You really don't know
What somebody might do.

That's why you have to
Stay prepared for anything here.

I may not have hit him,

But I scared the *bleep*
Out of him, anyway.

In south carolina,

Time is running out
For josh and bill.

In just a matter of days,

Their strawberry mash
Could turn to vinegar,

So they need to get
A new still site up and running

As soon as possible.

So, I know there's a creek
Down here in this gully.

I don't know if it's a good
Water source or not, though.

We're in the bushes here.

Gonna try to see
If we can find us

A good water supply
Down on this creek

And see if we can get
Up and running

Down in the woods.
Sure is thick in here.

We need something
Clear enough

Where we can get
Our gear down here.

There'll be a path
When we're done.

That's what worries me.

We're already
Making a trail.

It's just our first time
Walking through this stuff,

And we already got --

It looks like a herd of cattle
Come through here.

From the air it's like --
You can see this

Like you're looking through
A magnifying glass.

Right.

I heard that law
Is gonna be flying over

And looking for marijuana
Growers and stuff out here.

I hear one now.

All of appalachia
Should be worried

About eyes in the sky.

This year alone,
The u.S. Government

Will spend billions of dollars

On aerial-reconnaissance
Technologies.

That's why
Over in north carolina,

Jeff and mark have pressed
Deeper into the mountains,

In search of a site they hope
Will be completely undetectable.

The next step
Is to get everything set up

And just got to get everything
Carried over there.

Me and mark actually built
This moonshine territory here.

We're just reclaiming
Our territory.

Coming up...

Hey, tim.

In spartanburg county,
South carolina,

Rookie moonshiners josh and bill
Are searching for a still site,

But they can't catch a break.

And with 500 gallons
Of fermenting strawberries,

They need to find a site
As soon as possible

Before the fruit turns

And their plans for the season
Go down the drain.

There is nowhere near
Enough water in that.

Tell you right now,
This is definitely not the spot.

Just keep on looking.

We're like
Little trains that could.

We're not gonna stop
Just got we've hit

Some roadblocks
And some bumps and bruises.

That just gives us all the more
Determination to get it done.

This ain't gonna work.

If josh and bill
Don't find a site,

This will be
Their second consecutive

Failed moonshine season,

Something they simply
Cannot afford.

I'm hoping we've got
Better luck this year, man.

I've been a failure at just
About everything I've ever did.

If we have zero luck,

It'd be better than the bad luck
We had last year.

Damn.

In north carolina,

Mark and jeff are off
To a much stronger start.

They found a secure site.

Believe we got us
A real place.

Along with lance,

They're scouting the area
To find the best way to bring in

Heavy equipment
To such a remote location.

It's little tough
Getting in here.

What do you think,
Lance?

Yeah. We need to find
A road or something.

There's a little old road
Right down here.

We can haul our stuff in there
And everything.

A bunch of trash
In the road here.

Yeah, it'd be hard to get
That four-wheeler over that one.

Come on, help me, lance.
Throw this out of the road.

I've got something in this bag
To take care of it.

What do you got?

I've got some impact explosives,
If you want to just blow it up.

What's that?

Just two chemicals
That you mix together,

Shake it up,

Shoot it with a gun,
And it blows up.

It may move that stuff
Out of the way.

Pretty stout.

I've just now started playing
With it, but it's pretty stout.

So, you want to try it?

I like to blow stuff up.
Let's try it.

Exploding targets,
Or impact explosives,

Are formed by combining

Ammonium nitrate
And a powdered base metal.

Harmless while separate,

Once the two powders
Are combined,

They form a powerful explosive.

It can be detonated when hit
By a high-velocity ballistic,

Usually a rifle round traveling

At 2,000 feet per second
Or more.

First developed to indicate hits

During long-range
Target practice,

Exploding targets
Were quickly found to be useful

In a variety of situations,

Such as avalanche control,
Demolition,

And movie special effects.

I like to be prepared
For anything.

What you
Got to do to it?

Get these two mixed up.

Most of the time, you're not
Gonna use a high-powered gun,

Definitely not an assault rifle.

But us being in somewhere

That we don't really know
What's around,

It's better to be prepared.

When I left the house
This morning,

I just happened to have
The explosives laying there,

So I throwed it in my bag.
Come on.

We'll load this thing up,
See what we can do.

Hey, you have to put it
Up under it.

Put it somewhere that we can
Get way back and shoot it.

Like that?

Yeah, that'll work.

Now we got to get way back,
Send this stuff into orbit.

Okay.

As long as you hit the bag,
It'll go.

Okay.

Here goes.

Where am I hitting?

Let's go see
What we've got left.

Splintered a lot of it,
Didn't it?

Yeah.

We'll have to use that
Some more.

Yeah, we'll blow up
Some other stuff with that.

Let's go and get everything
Loaded and get it in here.

Well, lance, you've
Learned us something today.

Don't use your back.
Use your head.

In virginia, tickle has taken
Command over tim's territory.

With both his still site
And pots in disrepair,

He risks falling behind
And losing loyal customers.

Hey, tim.Tim: hey, tickle.

What's going on, man?

I'm just driving
Down to kentucky.

How you doing?
You all right?

No, no, things
Ain't going too good, man.

I went by and I checked out
The stills we had been using.

I think they're just about
Beyond repair.

Why you calling me?

Don't be calling me on your
Cellphone about that stuff.

I'm done with that stuff.
I'm all legal now.

I'm out of here.

Don't call me.

Yeah. I know.

Look, look,
I'll tell you what --

I can get somebody to maybe
Help you down in tennessee.

Go see mark *bleep*

He always worked on stills
For popcorn sutton.

All right.

Go down to a biker bar
Down in newport.

That's where
He hangs out at.

Big ol' guy.
You can't miss him.

Just tell him
I sent you down there,

And then, you know,
Just tell him what you need.

All right, well,
Maybe he'll help.

Maybe.
I hope so.

Just don't be calling me
About this stuff.

I don't have
Nothing to do with it.

All right.

This season on "Moonshiners"...

A knuckle sandwich
Is about to come out.

Oh *bleep* this ain't good.

You know why
I pulled you over?

Hey! Help!

The mississippi
Moonshine season has begun.

What gives you the right
To be on my property

Doing something illegal?

Whoa!
This is coming out fast.

How are you
On the curve?

Is he gonna throw me
Under the bus?

I don't know this man,
I don't want to know this man,

And I don't want to put my name
On this liquor.

If we find you moonshining,
You're going to jail.

Mad dog,
We got visitors out here.

You're not stupid, are you?
I don't try to be.

It just seems like
It's not getting anywhere.

Cutie pie.

There it goes.
