Melrose Place (1992–1999): Season 4, Episode 13 - Hook, Line and Hayley - full transcript

Bobby meets with Amanda and reveals that he has a crush on her since his childhood. But she wants nothing to do with him or his mafioso family, while Peter becomes jealous over Bobby's presence. Meanwhile, Kimberly is held captive by the psychotic Vic in a condemned building where he threatens to kill her since he is revealed to be a serial killer. Hayley takes Alison for a cruise on his yacht to Mexico where he tells her that he is now on the run from bill collectors after a number of failed business deals. Jane continues dating Michael, while Richard tells Jo about his idea of both of them starting another clothing design business, excluding Jane. Shelly is sent to prison, but literally gets the last laugh when she tells Jake of all the money she embezzled to ruin him financially as payback for Jess' death.

[crying]

It's just like you,
isn't it?

To show up
outta nowhere.

As if your little
brother Jack didn't
do enough damage.

Oh.

Look, Amanda, I just came
to see if I could help.

I never stopped
thinking about you.

Oh, stop all the
lies, all right?
Let go of me.

A gun?

I can explain.

You're in danger.

No, you--
you-- you were--

you were sent here to
kill me, weren't you?

I'd never do that.

No, I understand.
You'd maybe come here,

see me, not feel anything,
and put a bullet in my head.

That's not the way it is,
all right?

All this time I thought
you were different--

the boy who went straight.
 Will you listen to me?

Will you shut up
for a minute and
let me explain?

No! No, I am tired
of being terrorized,

beaten and bullied
by your idiot brother,

your psycho father,
and now you.

If you're gonna kill me,
do it,

any of you anymore.

For God's sake, Amanda,
don't you understand?
I couldn't hurt you.

I love you.

Don't you dare
say that to me.

Get out of here.

Unless you have the guts
to do what your daddy
sent you here to do.

We'll talk.

Oh, no, we won't.

Like anything is possible.

Are you sure about this?

Absolutely.

Maybe you wanna
give Billy a call.

You can't exactly tell him
what we're doing,

but it might be a way
for you to say good-bye
to your old life.

No. I already said good-bye.

My last talk with Billy
was enough.

I'm glad you said that.

I'm tired of that whole
world back there, too.

Tired of everything that
was pullin' and tearin'
me apart!

Hayley--

All I was trying to do

And everybody was pulling
me down, trying to bury me.

Nobody gave a damn
about what was inside me!

Even my own daughter.
My-my own daughter.

She'd stick a knife
in my back for a buck.

It's over now, sweetheart.
Now it's just us.

You're right.
I'm sorry.

I'm gonna

We should be celebrating
our escape from hell.

You know what?
I'm gonna put this glass down,

a lot of trouble

to get you that job
as a work release.

We, or you,

just need to tell them that
I'm still gonna be working...

but at what I love,
being a physician.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Now, I think you're
jumping the gun here.

No, no, look at it.
It makes perfect sense.

I am perfect for an internship
in psychiatry.

I've already applied.
I just need you to
smooth it through.

You, a shrink?

What's happening
to this world?

Come on, don't be
so over-dramatic.

I realized during my last
ordeal with this poor,
deranged man,

that I have the ability
to help people.

But I need your help
to do it.

Kimberly,
get real, hmm?

Three months ago, you were
completely deranged.

You just can't
wish upon a star and
become Sigmund Freud.

I know, I know, I just--
I just need a chance,
that's all.

Ah, what the hell,
why not?

You know, you'll probably
be better than most.

[laughing]
Oh, Peter, thank you.

To my new career.

[wind blowing]

Hayley?

Hayley?

Hayley?

Hayley?

Hayley!

Hayley!

Mrs. Armstrong,
what's wrong?

Have you seen
Mr. Armstrong?

He's not down below?

I saw him up on deck
having a couple of drinks

Where?
 Outside your cabin.

Is he missing?

We'll find him.
Don't worry, we'll find him.

Mayday, mayday.

Mayday.
Mayday.
Hayley!

Hayley!

Captain:
We have a man
overboard.

Hayley!

...west of the
Acapulco coast.

I repeat, we have
a man overboard.
 Hayley!

Mayday.
Mayday.

Jo, we need to talk.

Um, look, Richard,
it's Saturday.

I'm taking the weekend
off from all this crap.

Just five minutes,
please?

Look, um...

I don't know how things
got so turned around
between us lately.

[mouthing]
I knew it.

But I just want you
to know that I care
very deeply about you.

Come on.
I have very little
patience with this.

I can see
the seventh-grade game

that Jane is playing,
Richard,

and I can see you playing
right along with her,

and it drives me crazy,
and do you know why?

Because, once again,

I have fallen for
a lying, childish rat!

Jo, please
just look at this.

I don't understand it!
I really don't.

I mean,
I am a smart woman.

But my God, I always
fall for these-these-...

two-timing slugs that crawl...

Jo, please.
 ...on the bottom side
of relationship hell!

Jo, please--
 I never should've gone
to Hawaii with you!

Jo, stop.
Look-- No!

I know that things
have looked bad between
Jane and I recently,

but she is just a virus,
and I'm shakin' it.

Would you please look at this?

These are papers
I had drawn up

dissolving the
Hart-Mancini partnership.

And I'm also starting a company
of my own, without Jane.

And if you would,
I'd love for you to
join me in the venture.

Please.

[sighing]

Mrs. Armstrong,

did you see your husband
at all when you woke up?

No.
Um...

we went to bed
early together,

and then when I woke up,
he was gone.

You woke up in the middle
of the night?

The, um...

the cabin door was open,

and the wind was making
some noise.

And you say he had
been drinking?

Yes, earlier.

And then I found a bottle.

Captain: I guess
I saw him last.

About 20 minutes before
Mrs. Armstrong came
to the bridge.

He'd been drinking
quite a bit.

[whispering]

I-I'd like to please
call home now.

Yes, yes. Of course,
of course. Uh...

We've already notified
Mr. Armstrong's daughter.

She's flying down.

A body has been found
about 30 miles down the shore.

It could be your husband.

Once we have the body
transported,

we'll need you
to identify him.

[whispering]
No.

No.

No. No.

He...
he can't be dead.

No.
Oh, God.

Oh...
oh, God.

[crying]

Mornin', sis.

Well, hey, Syd.
What's up?

Just looking for some
advice from my big,
wise, older sister.

Really? Oh, well, what can
I do for you?

Well...
[chuckling]

See, Michael and I
have been very
happy lately.

And he's been so...

sexually intense.

If you know
what I mean.

And I've been thinking,
in a Cosmo sort of way,

that maybe he's
having an affair.

Which I could
put up with, I guess,

as long as
it wasn't with, say...

a former wife of his.

That would really tick
me off, Jane.

Look, Syd, I don't know
what you're babbling about,

but I think that maybe
you need to take

a double-dose of your
medication or something.

I'm just
telling you, Jane,

I'm not as dumb as I look.

Oh.

Hey, Syd.
 House call, Doctor?

None of your
business.

Well, hello.

Did you get tired
of ignoring my calls

and decide to come over
and ignore me in person?

Amanda, listen.
I-I...

I couldn't talk
to you for a while.

I want this thing
to happen between us,

but when I saw you
with Jack's brother,
it just--

Look, I want
to do this, too,

but we're gonna have to try
and trust each other

if we're gonna have
any kind of relationship.

Agreed.

I know I'm not easy,
but let's face it--

you're a piece
of work yourself.

Well, seeing as we're

two of the most difficult
people in the world,

maybe we have a chance
together.

Maybe, but it's
a hell of a risk.

I'll take it.

Detective:
I know this is difficult,

but I'll need you
to look carefully

to make sure
that it is your husband.

Oh, God. Oh, God.
It's him.

Oh, God.

Oh, God.

Where is he?

What's going on?

He's dead.

You killed him.

No.

You killed my father!

Hey!
Stop!

You'll pay for this!
Billy!

[screaming
hysterically]

Stop it!
Stop it.

[wailing]

She killed my father.

[crying]
