Married at First Sight Australia (2015–…): Season 6, Episode 1 - Episode #6.1 - full transcript

Australia's biggest social experiment returns for another year. Tonight, we meet all the singles that will participate in this year's experiment before we find out the Experts' very first pairings of 2019.

(THEME MUSIC)

The modern dating world is like
swiping through your rubbish bin.

You just see everyone
you dated previously.

I didn't think I would be my age now
and be single.

I thought I'd have children,
I'd be married.

But there is no one.

Because my appearance,
women look at me and think,

"Oh, yeah. He's just in it
for some fun."

But I'm ready.

I don't want to play around
and waste my time any more.

I've tried all of the apps,

going to parties, speed dating

and I've gotten to the point
where I give up.

Or I give something completely
different a chance.

I've never been in love.

I've never said
that word to a female

I've never said
that word to a female

and I've never had someone say
they love me.

I would really like to find
the woman

that I can spend the rest
of my life with.

I just want to be happy.

I pray and wish and want someone
there for me.

Because I really,
really do want to be in love.

For the rest of my life.

I'm going to cry.

It's the experiment that had
all of Australia talking.

(LAUGHS)

Cha ching.

Scientifically-matched singles
marrying complete strangers.

She's got a really good rig.
She's gorgeous. I'm stoked.

Guided by relationship experts,

our couples fast track
to their married life.

I'm definitely being thrown
into married life.

I'm not even allowed to dress
any more.

Sometimes controversial results.

I can't help
that I'm crazy about you.

We are such bad people.

It makes you look like an arsehole.

And unfortunately, Dean,
you don't deserve me.

Oh... Hello!

Sean is kissing Tracey on the lips.

Now Married at First Sight is back
and is bigger than ever...

I'm excited but I'm kind of (BLEEP)
myself at the same time.

..with another group of anxious
brides and grooms...

This is my wedding day.

Do you think I want to be late?

I think I'm going to vomit.

..and they are facing a whole new
set of relationship challenges.

..and they are facing a whole new
set of relationship challenges.

Just get the knife and go pfff.

Their journey to love will be
life changing...

I'm actually still a virgin.

Shit.

Blindsided.

You can F off now.

..also be treacherous...

You've ruined a marriage

and you're sitting there smiling,
you lying bitch.

He's not normal.
What?!

No, no, no.
I was shocked.

I'm going to jump in here
'cause it's doing my head in.

..but in the end, love will prevail.

I feel as if we have
taken on a leap forward.

I am falling for this girl.

He's amazing.

It's been fantastic
from the moment we met.

So who will find
their happily ever after...

I just want it to be someone
who loves me for who I am.

..when married at first sight?

No ripping way.

In two houses,
on opposite sides of Sydney...

Hi.
Hello.

Martha.
I'm Ning.

Ten hopeful brides
and their ten grooms-to-be

are gathering for their last
night of single life...

Hey, mate. How are you going?

Good, mate. Yourself?
Good. Nic.

Bronson, mate. Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you. How are you going?
Good.

..before they embark on

one of the most important chapters
of their lives.

one of the most important chapters
of their lives.

I'm Jules.
My name's Ning. How are you?

..when they marry
a complete stranger.

It's good to meet the boys who are
going through the same thing.

Hello, gents.
How are you going? Nic.

Good to meet you. Mike.

To know that my future wife is

somewhere out there doing the exact
same thing is kind of exciting.

Hi.

Hi.

My God. You all look amazing.

I'm Jules. What's your name?

This year,
we've reintroduced the opportunity

This year,
we've reintroduced the opportunity

for our singles to meet the other
brave individuals

taking part
before their wedding day.

What do you do, Jaz?

I do a little bit of modelling
on the weekends just for fun.

It's great to have this
opportunity with the girls.

So that I get to know them properly
and get them to know me as well.

What do you do?
What's your business?

It's a cocktail bar
but you have your hair

and make-up done while
you're in the bar drinking.

These people will be kind of like
my family

These people will be kind of like
my family

in this experiment...

You'll be the baby.
We'll look after you.

..and then the next step is to get
married which is very soon

and I'm very nervous.

I really hope I look at him
and just go, yes!

Winning.

Uh, I'm Mick.

I'm 31 and I live
in Gympie, Queensland.

I'm 31 and I live
in Gympie, Queensland.

(SHEEP BAAS)

(BLEEP) sheep!

Boys.
How are you going?

How are you going? Mick.

Nic. How are you going?

Nic, how are you going?

How are you doing?

There's not a lot of single
women around the area.

Just with the amount of work I do,

it is hard to get out
and meet people.

You're ready for work, mate.

You got the boots on and everything.
You're ready.

You got the boots on and everything.
You're ready.

I've got nothing else.
I'm always ready for work.

Unlike you. Bloody hell.

How many rounds
of 'roids did you do?

(LAUGHTER)

Excited?

Yeah. Yeah.

Excited to see what the buggers
have paired us up with anyway.

Hello.

My name's Heidi.
Pleased to meet you.

I'm Heidi. How are you?

I'm Ning. Like 'morning'.

Oh, I love it.

I saw the girls arrive tonight.

It blew my mind that this is
really happening.

It blew my mind that this is
really happening.

Welcome to the ladies.

Hi.
Hello.

So nice to meet you. I'm Heidi.

Nice to meet you.

Lovely to meet you.

They're all really friendly
and inviting and gorgeous.

Oh, welcome.

Hello, lovely lady.

I'm Heidi.

Hi, Heidi. I'm Cyrell.

And I'm, "What are you doing here?"

So I want to get more

about why everyone is in the same
situation as I am tonight.

I have a very intense
Filipino family.

And like there's seven kids.

And like there's seven kids.

Wow, in your family?

Yeah, I'm seeing everyone around me
just finding someone

and I'm really the only one left.

I think I'm at that age
when I wouldn't mind having kids.

Why are you girls trying to make me
cry the first night?

(LAUGHTER)

I'm like, I don't cry.

I would love to meet someone
that has children

because I have children.

How many kids do you have?

How many kids do you have?

I've got three so I want someone
for my children as well.

It's not just me.

Someone that accepts that.

Don't go too fast.

I have three children.

Aged 15, seven and three.

There we go. Oh, look.

And I love being a mum

but I was a single mum at 16

and it was very lonely
and hard work.

I missed out on a lot of things.

I missed out on a lot of things.

So when the kids are in bed,

the housework's done and I have
no one to talk to, I get a bit sad.

It's going to happen.

I'm sorry.

It's so hard to fall asleep alone.

I think I've always been lonely.

So I'm just trying to find
someone to want me.

So I'm just trying to find
someone to want me.

So I can find out
what love really is.

Boys.

Nice to see you.

Nice to see you.

Mick.

Mick?

Sam, he's a good-looking rooster,
isn't he?

Hey.

Hey, lads.

Hello, mate. How are you going?

Nic.
Cam.

It's good to finally meet
some of the other grooms.

Hey.

Hey.

G'day mate.

And to see what's brought them here.

What's led them here.

So how long have you been
single for, mate?

38 years.

38 years you've been single?

Because we are all taking
a big leap of faith.

Hi, mate. Nic.

Michael.

And we've got to have
each other's backs

so I want to know why

they deal with certain things
because of their pasts.

Everyone is spiritual.

You're just learning
at different stages in life.

Just like I want them to know what

Just like I want them to know what

I've been through and why I've just
never been ready to settle down.

I sort of just haven't been ready.

I had to re-evaluate.

I had a bit of a health scare
a few years ago.

I actually went through chemo
and had some cancer.

Yeah, so...

When I was 24,

I was diagnosed with a
non-seminomatous germ-cell tumour

which is a form of testicle cancer.

Yeah, so went through all that,
went through all the chemo

Yeah, so went through all that,
went through all the chemo

had no hair
and went through some surgery

so just sort of had to focus
on myself

and I pushed away a lot
of family and friends.

A relationship was the last thing
I was looking for.

But survived something that a lot of
people aren't so lucky to survive.

You know, I'm here, I'm healthy,
I'm alive and happy.

There is really one big thing left

and that's to hopefully fall in love
and start a family.

and that's to hopefully fall in love
and start a family.

Life is short. You make sure
you don't have any regrets.

Hey, cheers to beating cancer,
buddy.

Yeah, cheers.
I appreciate that, boys.

That's a big deal.

Thanks, boys. It wasn't easy.

On my wedding day, it is
important that I do look hot.

Like, one of my hobbies is just
being in my bikinis.

Yeah, being attractive does
have its downside.

Yeah, being attractive does
have its downside.

Some girls won't like you.

But I just want a husband, like,
I want a baby daddy.

So I don't really care.

Hey, there's another lady.

Whoo.

Hello.

When I walked in,
everyone was like at me.

Welcome, Ines.

Welcome to our group.

It was a bit much.

It was a bit much.

Like I just walked into a room.

I'm not doing a backflip.

And then...

There's someone coming.

There's someone coming.

Hi.

Hi, girls. This is so exiting.

Am I the last one?

I'm Melissa.
Hi. Martha.

Oh, my God.

Are you guys all like 12?
What the (BLEEP)?

Yeah.

Um...

I'm quite high-energy.

Are you like this in a relationship?

Oh! What do you mean?! No, yeah.

Oh! What do you mean?! No, yeah.

All the time.

I don't think I could handle her
for too long.

I'd probably lock her in a cupboard,
leave, move countries.

I don't want to be
with someone like me.

That would be...

..too much.

At the same time, I'm scared that
I'm going to get a real introvert.

I've always been an introvert.

Shy, quiet.

This bucks' night.

This is definitely
outside my comfort zone.

This is definitely
outside my comfort zone.

During high school, because I was
a sensitive kid,

people started
picking on me for that.

I just withdrew, didn't really
socialise, didn't get out

and meet girls so my relationship
history is pretty minimal.

But I'm sort of at that point

where it feels like there's
something missing in my life.

To me, an experience like this
is like all my biggest fears.

To me, an experience like this
is like all my biggest fears.

It's my fear of intimacy, it's
my fear of disappointing people.

It's my fear of social gatherings.

(LOUD LAUGHTER)

But if I step up to this experience

and I just take that leap of faith,

I know the payoff is
going to be huge.

(LAUGHTER)

We've got another fella.
How are you going, mate?

G'day, mate.
Matt.

Grab a beer, mate.

I might grab a water.

I might grab a water.

You want a water?

He's a priest.

You don't drink, mate?

Never have.

Never have?

What's the story there?

I was just never tempted.

Have you been married before?

No.
Have you ever had a relationship?

Not really. No.
Nothing?

Do you go dating much?
Not much, no.

Having all the eyes on me,

all the questions directed at me,
the attention,

I feel really uncomfortable.

I feel like you're in an interview.
Come in.

It does. It does.

It does. It does.

But I'll just remind myself,

somewhere out there,

there's a woman thinking about
the husband she hasn't met

just like I'm thinking
about the wife I haven't met.

And it's exciting.

Excuse me, can I have a bit more
light back here?

Guys are very intimidated by me.

They don't know what to say.
They don't know how to act.

They don't know how to take
my personality.

Because I will say
what's on my mind.

Because I will say
what's on my mind.

Like they say they want a confident
woman. I call BS on that.

Because they can't handle
a confident woman.

Guys, there's another bride coming.

(CHEERING)

Welcome.

Hello, I'm Heidi.

You are so glam, Elizabeth.
I love it.

Tell us about your life, Lizzie.

I'm 27. I'm from around here.

I'm from around here.

Around here, baby. Around here.

Around here, baby. Around here.

Elizabeth's whole energy
and vibe is just so ra.

I'm looking for a man, not a boy.

I don't want a boy. I want a man. I
want someone who can take the reins.

Yeah, there was little winged liner.

It was like her fingernails were
like swords.

Like a wizard's sword.

I don't mean to be rude.

Ahh.

Because I can talk the talk
and if I'm bored with you,

you're like a wet wipe
and push it to the side.

you're like a wet wipe
and push it to the side.

(GASPS)

I was like I can totally understand,
why you're single.

Sorry.

Yeah, baby.

Take it away, babe.

Yeah, meeting this group
of very outgoing ten women.

I get bored really easily.

But you're a vibrant woman and men
would be scared of someone...

Yeah.

They are shit scared.

I had moments where I was like,
wow, I'm shy compare to these girls.

In all honesty

because we are probably going to get
really stressed out by this,

we have to have a really supportive
group of women.

we have to have a really supportive
group of women.

Absolutely.

At the same time,

they are very sweet, very kind.

Can you believe that we are marrying
strange men?

And they are doing the same
thing as us right now.

And I think we'll become
good friends.

If it doesn't work out,
I've set my eyes on you.

No, you're gorgeous.

So, yeah, I feel good to go.

With all the single girls...

Cheers, guys.

I find we've got a good
connection already.

We've got a good bunch of lads here.

..and all the single guys...

..and all the single guys...

I think this is going to go
really well.

Cheers to that. Cheers to that.

..finally gathered together...

..it's time for our experts...

How are we?

Well, hello, ladies.

..to officially kick off
the experiment.

So, guys, how are we feeling?

(POSITIVE SHOUTS)

It's fantastic to finally see
all ten grooms here

It's fantastic to finally see
all ten grooms here

after what has been a
really intense matchmaking process.

The last few months, myself, Tricia

and Mel have delved
deep into science

and psychology to find solid matches
for each and every one of you.

Think about this, guys.

Right this very second,
across town,

your future wives are all together

feeling exactly the way
you are feeling right now

feeling exactly the way
you are feeling right now

and ready to meet you -
their future husbands.

Future husbands!

Yeah, it's pretty big.

That's a lot heavier, isn't it?

Who's excited?

So excited.

So excited?

I want it to be like now.

We worked hard to find you
your match.

Now it's up to you to do
the hard yards.

Now it's up to you to do
the hard yards.

This year, the experiment is
going to intensify

and dig deeper
than we ever have before.

There's no question
this is going to be

one of the toughest things
you ever do.

Take a look around.

You're not in this alone.

You will be supported by people

who are going through exactly
the same thing.

You'll have each other to lean on,

to confide in and share each other's
ups and downs.

You guys better be there for me.

You guys better be there for me.

(LAUGHTER)

Let's face it, what you're
about to do here is extreme.

But I assure you,

we believe that if you can get
through the next ten weeks,

you have the best chance
of finding long-lasting love.

How exciting!

Well, ladies,
this is your last official night

as single women so consider
this your hens' night.

Thank you!

Thank you!

(APPLAUSE)

Well, guys, this is
your last night as single men.

Consider this your official
bucks' night.

(CHEERING)

So enjoy yourselves,
have a great night.

Best of luck for your big day.

See you soon, guys.

Does everyone feel like they are
going to sleep

with their husbands straight away?

I don't sleep with a guy
straight away after I date him.

Me neither.

I need to have a feeling with you.

I need to have a feeling with you.

For me to want to share
my body with you.

Honestly.

I think the guys have to really
work for it.

Yeah, like, take you shopping
every day.

Not take you shopping.

Like shopping mall every day.
Absolutely.

I love that but I'm also...

On the first night,
you know if you're feeling it,

if you're in the moment,
you're not here to mess around.

Would you hold off deliberately
just do not rush?

No.

You would just let it happen?
Yeah.

You would just let it happen?
Yeah.

I'd say it depends on her.

No, it does depend on her.

It depends on your chemistry
and your connection.

If she's keen and there's
attraction, yeah, go for it.

What's the problem?

So what you're saying is, if you had
the opportunity of a full pizza.

You're going to eat a full pizza?

(LAUGHTER)

He puts it the best way.

What about you boys?

First night, would it happen?

Nah.

Take it slow. Slow.

Take it slow. Slow.

You work for it.

I asked all the guys questions
and Matthew was a bit quiet.

Matt, I know you haven't had
many relationships.

He seems very straight and proper.

They go hand-in-hand.

I just got the vibe that maybe

you haven't gone there
with someone before.

Matt?

I knew this question was coming.

I knew this question was coming.

Oh, here we go.

I just thought I'd throw it
out there and see what happened.

Have you?

On opposite sides of Sydney...

at a bucks' night
and a hens' night...

(CHEERING)

20 singles are celebrating their last
taste of unmarried life...

20 singles are celebrating their last
taste of unmarried life...

They say beauty is in the eye
of the beer-holder.

(LAUGHTER)

..before meeting the total stranger

they have been matched
with at the altar.

I hope they are lovely.

They better be lovely or I'm not
going to be lovely to them.

Oh.

But for some, the night will prove
uncomfortably revealing.

Matt, I know you haven't had
many relationships.

I just got the vibe that maybe

you haven't gone there
with someone before.

you haven't gone there
with someone before.

Have you?

No.

That's massive, mate.

That's a huge deal.

How have you waited so long, man?

One of my biggest fears in coming
into this was being in a room

full of guys all really experienced
with lots of relationships

talking about sex and then telling
them that I'm still a virgin.

talking about sex and then telling
them that I'm still a virgin.

Obviously, you're waiting
for the right person and...

Yeah, if it's the right person
and the right time, absolutely.

I respect that massively.

You seem like a very genuine
and kind guy so good on you.

Right.

That's exciting.

Exciting, terrifying.

Cheers to that.

It was one of those things that,
once I said it out loud,

the weight had been lifted
off my shoulders

and everyone was
really understanding.

As long as you hold
up to your values,

As long as you hold
up to your values,

I think that women that you attract
will respect you for who you are

and hopefully that happens for you.

Your wife's going to be
a really lucky girl.

She's going to be a really
lucky girl to meet you.

As the first night of the experiment
nears its end...

So, Cam, what do you think your wife
is going to look like?

..and our singles look ahead to the
strangers they are soon to marry...

I'm hoping shorter than me.

Is that possible?

Oh.

(LAUGHTER)

Let's be realistic now, Cam.

Let's be realistic now, Cam.

Like you're all giants.

This is ridiculous.

They know there will be
challenges ahead.

I love a good voice.

They could look like Quasimodo

but if they have a beautiful voice
I'd be like, "Hey, baby."

Someone that has hair there
but not so much hair there.

Oh, they have to have hair.

I actually left the guy because
he shaved and I couldn't handle it.

Gentlemen, it's our last
night as single men.

Cheers to that.
We are getting married.

(CHEERING)

(CHEERING)

Tonight, they toast a fond goodbye
to their single life...

To our last night as single ladies.

(CHEERING)

To our new husbands.

..but the mammoth task of finding
their perfect match began months ago.

Well, here we are again.
Matchmaking.

Of course, this year
we've had over 10,000 singles apply.

So many people are unlucky in love.

They've tried everything
in the dating scene to no avail.

They've tried everything
in the dating scene to no avail.

So they've come to us and our
experiment to find true love.

They've seen what a great bond
they can develop with somebody

when they are fast tracked
through a romance.

And we are certainly going
to fast-track them

because we have got more obstacles
and challenges than ever before.

This is a bigger experiment

and their bond, there connection is
going to be severely tested.

But of course,
by the end of the experiment,

those who have successfully
navigated their way through

will have a much stronger bond

and ultimately, greater chance
of happily ever after.

and ultimately, greater chance
of happily ever after.

So looking at all of our singles,

the first person that
I want to talk about is

a 36-year-old woman Jules

who has been
a very successful businesswoman.

She is very ambitious

however it's come at the cost
of her personal life.

Jules is a real standout for me

because she's a woman
who knows where she's at

and she knows
there's a real void in her life.

She is at the perfect time

and place to step into the right
relationship and start a family.

Morning.

I run a business in Sydney where
I'm a hair and make-up stylist.

I've always done really
well in my career.

Let's make that 2.15
and push that there.

Friends just think I'm confident
Jules and everything is fine.

But I didn't think I would be my age
now and be single.

To be honest,
I don't want to be my myself.

To be honest,
I don't want to be my myself.

I've had my heart broken
a few times.

My last relationship,

I dated a man who was exactly
the kind of guy I want to be with.

I could have loved him for ever.

My life could have been
a bit different.

He didn't want to have any children
so...

I just knew in my heart
he wasn't the one.

Because I do believe being a mother
would be the best job that I do.

You missed.

You missed.

Got you. Got you.

Most of my girlfriends have children

and it's something
that I really want.

As a woman,
I just have that feeling,

getting older, I can feel it.

I'm ready to love something
more than myself.

Sorry, that upsets me.

It's just that little thing
that's missing.

So I want to be there for someone
and have someone be there for me.

It's what everyone wants, isn't it?

To be in love with someone
and have a happy life with someone.

Here she comes.

(CHEERING)

So I'm ready and I'm here to be
with someone for ever.

Oh, that's beautiful.

Oh, that's beautiful.

I'd be so happy if they got it right
and I just met the love of my life.

Just having a moment right now
actually.

It really would be
the greatest thing.

Jules is a strong communicator.

She's very articulate
about her feelings,

very in touch with them so we need
to match her with a guy

who is also a good communicator

and is also aware
of what he needs and wants.

So we really have to step up

and make sure the person we put her
with wants kids as much as she does.

and make sure the person we put her
with wants kids as much as she does.

Well, the person I'm thinking
of for Jules is Cameron.

He is a successful and accomplished
professional cricket player

so certainly someone
who has invested in his career

and has got to this point now
where he wants to settle down.

He wants to start a family.

Oh, you can't teach that.

I grew up loving cricket.

That's all I ever wanted to do.

I played at first-class level.

I played at first-class level.

I played at a professional level.

In New Zealand,
and all round the world.

But because of that,
I haven't found my perfect partner.

I haven't been married
and I haven't had kids yet.

It's something I've wanted
for a long time.

Being a father is hugely important.

I coach kids full time now
and I love them.

You've got this many balls.

I might hit it out then.

That will do.

I just love everything
they bring to day-to-day life.

It's a beautiful thing.

Beautiful.

I've always seen myself as being a
father and a bloody good one too.

You're on fire.

Sharing that with someone would be
really special.

Now six years ago.

Cam had a very serious relationship
with the love of his life.

The other love of his life -
cricket got in the way.

I had a loving relationship
where things were just wonderful.

We had a dream for the future

but with my hours
and hours of prioritising cricket,

but with my hours
and hours of prioritising cricket,

it just got to a stage
where her patience had run out

and I lost the love of my life.

Now I know what priorities are

and I know what I can give to a wife
and a partner.

I'm ready for this experiment to
give my absolute everything into it.

I'm ready for this experiment to
give my absolute everything into it.

Commitment, dedication and love.

All our research

and data really points to this being

one of the strongest matches
we've ever had.

But I do have a concern.

Every time we have spoken to Jules,

she says she wants a man
who is bigger than her.

Someone taller because she considers
herself curvy.

My concern here is that Cam is
a little on the short side.

My concern here is that Cam is
a little on the short side.

True but hopefully
that's not something

that will stand in the way
of her giving Cameron a fair chance.

Because she is interested
in what's on the inside.

I think this has got huge potential.

Great couple.

Cam and Jules, let's lock them in.

Let's do it.

So the next person that
I want to talk about is Nic.

Here we have someone who has
overcome a life-threatening illness.

He's got a second chance at life

and now this experiment is his big
chance at finding love.

and now this experiment is his big
chance at finding love.

The moment I found out I had cancer,

I felt like my heart had
sank to the floor.

Yeah, speechless.

I didn't know what to think.

The whole world turned
upside down at that moment.

Then, took a couple of breaths
and composed myself

and asked the oncologist
what's next.

What do we do? Let's do it.

Let's kill it.

I'm here, I'm healthy,
I'm alive, I'm happy.

Going to be getting married.

ALL: Aww...

(LAUGHTER)

I'm a very outgoing person.

Always looking at the brighter
side of life.

Your special job - pageboy.

I work pretty hard.

I'm an electrician by trade.

I've tried to set myself up.

I've done everything on my own.

Bought my house, been travelling

Bought my house, been travelling

and I'm ready to settle down and
ready to start a family hopefully.

I would like you to swipe through
all these images...

Yup.

..and tell me
whether you like the person.

OK. There is definitely
attraction here.

She's got quite dark hair.

Yeah, dark features, dark hair,
definitely what I'm attracted to.

Any major deal breakers for you,
Nic?

Things that you just think I've had
that before, that does not work?

I can't stand people that whinge
and sook.

I can't stand people that whinge
and sook.

So like a negative attitude?

Yeah, I can't stand that. Life's too
short to even bring anyone down.

Going through cancer
at such a young age,

it sort of makes you put
everything in perspective.

Every day, it's a blessing.

I'm ready to settle down
and falling in love

in this experiment would mean
everything to me.

All right, we've got Nic.

The question is who are we going
to pair him with?

I'm going to go out on a limb here
and say that I think that Nic needs

I'm going to go out on a limb here
and say that I think that Nic needs

someone who can match
his fighting spirit.

Someone who is tough
but also vulnerable.

Someone with a vivacious spirit.

I've got just the woman in mind -
Cyrell.

My name is Cyrell.

I'm 29 years old.

I'm a very optimistic, happy person.

Definitely bubbly.

And confident. Very confident.

(LAUGHS)

I'm Filipino.

I'm Filipino.

Hang on. I'm just doing my hair.
One second.

So it's like date me,
date my family.

For sure.

Mum, I'm running late.

I know but please.

At the moment, I still live
with my parents.

How did you even lose it
in the first place, mum?

I don't know.

Put it on settings, mum.

I'm still their baby
because I'm the youngest of seven

and there's always drama
in my family.

All right.

Point it at the TV for God's sakes,
mum.

There. Loading.

But as much as we fight
with one another,

we are always there for each another
when shit goes down.

What would you do if I wasn't here?

That's why you're here.

We are very, very close.

Well, I like to think so anyways.

Thank you so much.

You don't need to thank me too much.

You're a good girl.

I am proud of her.

She can be strong,

she can be hardheaded but definitely
I know she's got a good heart.

Because she is a loving person

and she had a relationship before
but it failed.

Yeah. I feel sorry for her.

Yeah. I feel sorry for her.

Were you engaged before?

Yes. I was.

What happened with your fiance?

Well, that was, that was probably

what taught me a lot
about betrayal.

Because I basically caught him
cheating.

Ah.

And it was very hard for me.

So you've had your heart broken?

Yes. Yes.

It's kind of sad when you
say it like that. But yes.

It's kind of sad when you
say it like that. But yes.

So when you think about Cyrell
and her past relationship,

she's got real trust issues that
she brings into this experiment.

For her, what she's
going to need to do is soften

and really mellow to let her partner
get close.

If truth be told,
as much as I act tough,

I really, really do want to be
in love. I want someone.

Hey, how's it going?

My parents were married at 18 and
all my siblings have their partners.

They have their kids.
I'm the only one left.

They have their kids.
I'm the only one left.

I'm going to come into this
relationship more open.

And I'm going to give it my best

because when I'm on my own, I pray

and wish and want someone there
for me.

Because no one wants
to be left alone.

I think Cyrell is the epitome
of hard exterior and soft centre.

I reckon Nic is the right person

to complement her sensitive
but vibrant personality.

to complement her sensitive
but vibrant personality.

Cyrell and Nic, it looks like
we've got our second match.

Cyrell and Nic. Love it.

The experts have paired their first
two couples to enter the experiment.

Jules and Cam and Cyrell and Nic

and these strangers will soon
meet for the first time

on their wedding day.

Next...
Shut up!

Ivan, Please!

..Cyrell's explosive
wedding bombshell...

..Cyrell's explosive
wedding bombshell...

You have a family.
Karen has a family. I'm by myself.

Get yourself together first and then
think about getting married!

Shut up!

..plus bridal breakdown as Jules
threatens to pull the pin.

I don't want to talk to you
right now.

OK.
I just need to...

The experts have matched
their very first couples

The experts have matched
their very first couples

for this year's experiment.

Jules and Cam
and Cyrell and Nic.

Now it's time for our singles
to share the news

with their family and friends.

I'm getting married.

I'm just worried
that she might get hurt.

She might fall madly in love
with this guy and he's not...

doesn't feel the same.

Not even seen a photo or anything?

Nope.

He might be a real nice bloke.

We'll find out.

For cricket-loving Cam,

he's hoping to bowl his parents
over with the news.

You know how much I love you.

I just wanted to let you know...

You've got a boyfriend?

No, no.

I'm getting married.

Mate, don't forget
it can't happen on Saturday.

We've got cricket.

(LAUGHTER)

As for Nic, his upcoming nuptials

couldn't have come any quicker
for his doting mum Cathy.

Nic's future wife whoever she may
be is absolutely going to get

Nic's future wife whoever she may
be is absolutely going to get

a guy who will respect women.

So hopefully I've done a good job

but that's the biggest thing
she'll get out of it.

Love you, love you, love you.
Love you too.

Good luck with it all.

Three of our four singles have taken
the plunge

and revealed their wedding news
to their families.

And for our final single, Cyrell...

You're making that stirfry thing?

I'll make it quick.
I'll make it quick.

..the nerves are starting to build.

So I'm about to go in there

and tell my family
that I'm going to get married soon.

and tell my family
that I'm going to get married soon.

To a total stranger to top it off.

These opportunities don't
happen often

and I need to take this chance.

I don't think my family is aware

of how much I do want to be
in love again.

One down, 20 to go.

(LAUGHS)

I'm heaps worried about Ivan.

It's so bad that I have favourites

but Ivan is my closest brother.

I love him so much.

My brother is just as fiery as I am.

My brother is just as fiery as I am.

He also has a mouth like I do.

That's really freaking me
out right now.

Is it OK if everyone just stops
eating for five seconds.

Dad, mum.

So...shit.

What are you crying for?

It's so embarrassing.

All right, what is it? What is it?

I'm getting married.

I'm getting married.

I don't know my husband yet.

Mmm.

Basically I'm getting married
to a total stranger.

Since when did that happen?

Why to do that?

Ivan?

I don't know.

It's up to you.

You've always been like that.

You do shit without telling us.

When did you ever tell us anything?

I'm just saying...

You've got to tell us.

Talk to your family.

You always do things
without telling us.

You always do things
without telling us.

Since when do you do this?

I'm telling you now.

I knew... It's easy for you.

I'm telling you now!

You don't know this person.
It's OK.

I don't know this guy
and I don't like him.

MUM: Ivan, Ivan, please.

Ivan, please. Please.

Relax, OK?

Please. Ivan.

I don't know. I'm really speechless.

It's a big shock.

I've always just wanted
the best for my sister

and to see her go through this
and to put herself in this position,

and to see her go through this
and to put herself in this position,

it's kind of hard because I'm
afraid of what the outcome could be.

What if you don't like this guy?

What happens then?

It's not what you think.

They get experts.

What experts?

No expert can bring love.

It comes from the heart.
Plain and simple.

Come on, Ivan.
Get back to your seat. Ivan, please.

You've always been like this.
You only think about yourself.

Why am I being selfish?

You have a family,
Karen has a family.

I'm by myself.

I'm by myself.

Come on, Ivan. Please.

I'm selfish. I'm (BLEEP) selfish.

Don't swear in front of the food.

Yeah, I'm selfish.

Are you on your own?

Get yourself together first and
then think about getting married.

Oh, my God.

I'm having heart attack.

Maybe then you think
about getting married!

Shut up!

Come on, Ivan. Please.
Let's have dinner.

Come on. Let's have dinner.

Try to be supportive to her.

Try to be supportive to her.

Please.

Don't you feel sorry for her?
She just wants to be happy.

I don't know this guy
and I don't want to know him.

No one needs to be marrying
a complete stranger.

I'm not going to the wedding.
Plain and simple.

The big day has finally arrived.

The big day has finally arrived.

We are getting married today.

How good.

Our four singles are now
just hours away

from marrying a complete stranger...

Don't mind the outfit, boys.

My birthday suit.

For a lot of our singles,

the getting ready ritual signifies
that point of no return.

..and giving up that control can be
an anxious realisation.

I'm looking for my perfume.

I'm looking for my perfume.

Maybe it's already in your bag.

No, it's not.

So it will be interesting to see
how someone like Jules,

who is used to being in charge
of their own destiny,

handles that final morning
phase of this experiment.

Oh, my God. Just calm down.

It's OK.

It's not.

My stuff has to leave right now
and it's not OK.

I'm obviously anxious.
This is the biggest day of my life.

Is it out near the make-up?

I have no idea. I have no idea.

It's all getting very real

and a little bit emotional
about what I'm stepping into.

and a little bit emotional
about what I'm stepping into.

Even my dad walking me
down the aisle.

It's such a...
Oh, I'm going to get upset.

It's big.

It's big and I'm...

(SNIFFS)

Yeah, and even some friends think
I'm crazy for doing this.

They are here to support me
but, yes...

Oh.

(MUTTERS)

I just have to calm down.

It's just the unknown.
It's just the unknown.

I don't know anything.

I'm usually in control of everything
I'm doing, who I am, what I'm doing,

what's around me and this is just,
this is just like nothing else.

But it's not just Jules who is
feeling anxious.

Her soon-to-be husband is concerned
about one small issue.

Her soon-to-be husband is concerned
about one small issue.

Worst case scenario, OK, height is a
factor but I'm comfortable with it.

I'm genuinely comfortable.
I'm OK with it.

I've dated taller women before

and it doesn't seem to be an issue

but it
might be an issue on first glance.

Look at that.

If she's got the same open mind
that I do

then today will still be
a magic day.

Let's go get married.

Just give yourself a sec.
It will clear up.

Just give yourself a sec.
It will clear up.

What's going on?

I don't want to talk to you
right now. Sorry.

OK.

It's been a stressful
morning for Jules.

To help calm her nerves,
she turns to the bottle...

I've got some calming essential
oils here for you, lady.

..of lavender oil.

Just sniff the bottle.

Stick it under your nose.

Thank you.

I've had my meltdown.

I've got it out of my system
and I'm feeling good again.

I've got it out of my system
and I'm feeling good again.

Meltdown one done.

No more.

Oh, my God. Who am I?

I just had a lot of emotion inside
of me and I just got overwhelmed

and I had to get that emotion out
and now I feel good.

I feel I'm getting excited now
and I can't wait to put my dress on,

put my shoes on, see my dad, get in
the car and go make this happen.

(CHEERING)

You look amazing.

Beautiful.

I'm really happy with how I look.
My dress is perfect.

My hair and make-up is perfect.

I love everything.
I couldn't be happier.

You smell lovely.

What shoes did you decide
on wearing?

The high ones.

OK, I've got two pairs of shoes
today.

I brought a backup pair.
Just in case my husband is not tall.

I brought a backup pair.
Just in case my husband is not tall.

Which I hope he is. I've just got
so much hope he is going to be good.

So I'm just,
that's all that's in my head.

It's going to be fine.
It's going to be good.

Hey, dad.

Hello.

What do you think?

Very nice.

Thank you.

This is it. I'm on my way.

Next...

Here she comes, Cameron.

Here she comes, Cameron.

..it's the moment of truth...

..for Jules and Cam.

There's so many things
going through my head.

Will I be attracted to him?

What does he look like?

Is he going to be shorter than me?
He has to be taller than me.

After a tumultuous family reaction,

Cyrell's big day is
off to a sombre start.

I feel like this isn't my day.

I don't feel like it's my wedding.

Her brother Ivan has chosen
to boycott the wedding.

I really needed my brother to be
here with me today.

I like to think if the situation
was reversed,

if this happened to another
sibling of mine and this is what

they wanted to do, I would show
nothing but support and be there.

I wouldn't make it harder on them.

I'm there for all of them

when they've got their things,
baby showers or whatever.

when they've got their things,
baby showers or whatever.

So it's kind of upsetting that
he couldn't take one day for me.

MAN: Hey, Nic.

Wow.

Looking sharp.

How do you feel in it?

Good.

I can't believe I'm getting married.

I can't believe I'm about to walk
up the aisle

and somebody else walk up

and stand there next to me
in front of my family and friends.

It's ridiculous.

I've been through a lot in my life
before

I've been through a lot in my life
before

and, to be doing something
like this is crazy.

All right, let's go.

You're sweating more
than a CrossFit worker.

ALL: Oh.

My God.

Princess.

Look at you!

What's wrong?

She's just nervous.

Despite wearing
her dream wedding dress,

Despite wearing
her dream wedding dress,

Cyrell is still struggling
to come to terms

with Ivan's lack of support.

Why is it that when I need him the
most, he's choosing not to be here?

It's OK, it's OK. Come on.
It will be all right.

(KNOCK AT DOOR)

(LAUGHS)

(SOBS)

You don't want to do it, do you?

You can stay.

You don't have to go.

Don't get emotional on me now.

How do I look?

You look beautiful.

It's my little sister.

I'm the closest to her in her life

so I have to be there
to support her.

To be honest, I didn't want to have
anything to do with this

but, you know, I've always been
there for you.

So I'm here now.

Thank you.

Thanks. Don't ruin my tiara.

(LAUGHS)

Let's make a toast to the bravest
man I know.

I hope you meet the love
of your life today

and you two live happily ever after.

Thank you, mate.

Good luck, legend.
Good luck.

Thanks, lads.

Mate, we are just passing the ECG.

That's where your original
dreams where.

It's actually quite ironic

that we are doing that,
past my original dreams.

Everything I put effort
and dedication and commitment into.

We are passing that and now
we are on our way to another dream.

One we didn't expect.

OK, I want to relax now.

I'm going to hold your hand.

Calm so that it keeps me calm.
Put your hand like that for me.

Don't panic.

It's too late to panic.

It's like every movement,

every corner we turn to,
it is getting more real and real.

Jeez, I feel my heart rate
going now.

Oh, God.

Feel my heart.

It's OK. It's OK.

Scientifically speaking, Jules and

Cam are one of the strongest matches
the experiment has ever seen.

Our evidence suggests
love will flourish.

Our evidence suggests
love will flourish.

There's nerves now.
There's nerves now.

It feels like stepping really
into the unknown.

Oh, shit.

Deep breaths.

OK. But this has been
a long time coming.

When I was a kid, all I wanted was
a white picket fence, family

and the actual dream.

The real dream.

To love someone and to be loved.

I do believe in love at first sight.

That's why I'm doing this.

That's why I'm doing this.

I'm ready to put myself out there

and be vulnerable
and see what happens.

(APPLAUSE)

Hello, mum. Cameron.

Oh, hello. Cameron. How are you?

Are you going OK?

Yeah, I'm fine.

It will be OK.

Hundred percent. Thank you.

She'll be walking down there,
soon enough.

I'm about to what down the aisle
right now.

Yeah. I'm excited but I'm kind of
shitting myself at the same time.

God, I think I can see him.

Here she comes, Cameron.

Cor.

I hope I see someone...

there's instant chemistry
there between us and we both go yes!

MAN: Holy shit.

Hi.

(MOUTHS)

She is absolutely stunning.

Straight away, beautiful smile.

Her eyes are piercing blue
and I love that.

Hey.

Hi.

Hello, dad.

Oh, 'dad'!

I'm Cameron.
Jules.

I'm Cameron.
Jules.

Lovely to meet you.
Lovely to meet you.

I want to say you look stunning.
Thanks.

Absolutely beautiful.

OK. Right, good.

OK?

I had my moment already today.

Have you?

Lost my shit for a bit.

OK.

Probably good to get out of it.

Yeah, it was. I've done it now.

I'm sorry I couldn't be there
for you.

Oh, thank you.

He just had the kindest smile
and he looked really happy.

He looked really happy
when he saw me

and, yeah, it instantly felt good.

and, yeah, it instantly felt good.

Good afternoon,
ladies and gentlemen.

Welcome to the wedding of Cameron
and Jules.

Now Cameron and Jules will exchange
their personal vows with each other.

Thank you, mate. Appreciate it.

Jules, I want you to know that here,

in front of everyone
that we both love,

I give you everything that I am.

My dreams and my fears, my triumphs

and my failures, my passion
and my flaws, I give you me.

and my failures, my passion
and my flaws, I give you me.

I've set out to chase
so many dreams in my life.

This dedication meant

that I'm always putting my life
and love on hold.

But today, Jules, I can safely say

that my dedication is now with you
and here today.

Fantastic.

(LAUGHS)

(APPLAUSE)

I'm so happy right now.

Everything he said was a moment.
It was really beautiful.

Everything he said was a moment.
It was really beautiful.

Are you ready?
Yeah, I'm ready.

Marriage to me is the meeting of two
souls that are alike.

In so many ways, supporting, caring,

helping each other through good
and bad times.

At first, I may seem like the most
independent woman in the world

and in many ways, I am.

But my family and friends know
I can also be incredibly vulnerable

and I wear my heart on my sleeve.

Even though I am a strong woman,

Even though I am a strong woman,

I'm wholeheartedly ready to love
and be loved in return.

In the wise words
of Carrie Bradshaw,

"I am someone looking for real love,

"ridiculous,
inconvenient, consuming,

"can't-live-without-each-other
love."

I'm excited for literally everything
we have ahead and I have great hopes

this could be the greatest love
story so beat it, Romeo and Juliet.

(LAUGHTER)

(APPLAUSE)

I'm shaking.

I'm shaking.

I'm into it.

So am I.

Magic.

Dearest friends and family,
it is with much pleasure

that I now pronounce Cameron
and Jules as husband and wife.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

Cameron, you may kiss your bride.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

I'm happy.

Loved it.

Thanks, guys.

You are so lovely.

Thank you.

You're just...everything
I could have...

What you said, is everything
I could have wanted you to say.

Shall we have a hug?

Hi.

Hi. How are you going? Oh, God. Wow.

Wow.

Yeah.

Yeah, beautiful.

Next...

Next...

If anybody here objects to this
ceremony proceeding,

please speak now
or forever hold your peace.

I am itching to get there.

Yes, I do need to go to the bathroom
but I am itching to do this.

Ivan, thank you for finally
coming on board.

Ivan, thank you for finally
coming on board.

Karen, I'm excited.

I'm ready to do this.

I say let's get out of here before
it's too late. Plain and simple.

(CYRELL LAUGHS)

There's a lot of weight lifted now.

You know?

I don't want to call him
a guardian angel.

He is more like my guardian devil.

Yeah, I really needed my brother
to be here with me today.

I'm actually excited now.

I think that's calmed my nerves now.

You can't not be happy for me?

You can't not be happy for me?

I just wish you...

You couldn't find yourself to meet
someone, get to know them.

I've done that. I've done that.

You can't say I haven't

because the amount of times
you turn around and...

I don't think you've tried
hard enough.

I have.

No, you haven't.

This is the stage
where I say you're still young.

You don't know what you want
in your life.

This whole experiment,
it's going to fail.

This whole experiment,
it's going to fail.

Why would you show up if you think
it's so ridiculous?

Because I've got to be
here to support you.

Well, you're not supporting
me right now.

If you're going to be here
to support me, actually support me.

Don't be here just to tell me

that I'm about to do
another stupid thing.

You're making a mistake, yeah.

I was just getting happy again.

I was honestly just getting happy
again. What's wrong with you?

All of a sudden, I was like,
why am I even doing this?

Is the headache even worth it?

It's me fighting with my family
even worth it this much?

I'm just thinking, please, Ivan,
don't ruin this.

Yeah, I can't believe
it's my wedding day.

Every step in this experiment has
been crazy.

Every day.

Going back when I first applied

to meeting the boys at the bucks'
party, then finally here.

Pretty...pretty nerve wracking.

You've gone through a lot more
stressful things than this,

You've gone through a lot more
stressful things than this,

I'm telling you right now.
Have I?

Yeah, you have.
You reckon?

It does not feel like it.
My guts are churning.

I feel sick.

I'm literally just
about to get married

to a complete stranger
and give my life away really.

Very anxious, nervous, excited.

I've got a lot of mixed emotions
right now.

I was walking down that aisle
and I feel my heart sinking.

I was walking down that aisle
and I feel my heart sinking.

I feel my whole world
crashing down on me.

How are you? Hello.

I don't know what to expect.

I don't know what to do.

So many people are staring at me

and there I am,
thinking different things.

Everyone's got mixed emotions

and I'm about to have
my whole world changed.

Hey, Pete. He's rocking his leg.
He's nervous.

Shitting my pants.

(LAUGHTER)

(LAUGHTER)

I don't feel like it's my wedding.

I feel like I tried
so hard to please everyone.

Nothing I was doing was going right.
Nothing.

As it happens,
with all big families,

As it happens,
with all big families,

there's always going to be siblings
fighting with one another.

It's just upsetting

that people couldn't put
their problems aside for me.

After all of our rigorous testing,

the number one compatibility
factor that Cyrell

and nick have
in common is their family values.

She always take this long?
(LAUGHTER)

Yeah?

So the challenge for these two will
be to win over their loved ones.

So the challenge for these two will
be to win over their loved ones.

If they manage to do that,

the data tells us
that this will be a solid match.

I turned around and some guy had
sat down and was staring at me

I turned around and some guy had
sat down and was staring at me

and I could feel a bit of tension.

Giving me daggers.

It made the whole situation harder.

Quiet, please.

We are about to start.

So my heart is racing.

I'm shaking, my hands are sweaty.

I'm heaps worried about Ivan.

I'm feeling intense right now

I'm feeling intense right now

because I really don't want
to ruin this moment.

What if he does something
or says something?

He just needs to be happy for me.

It may not make sense to my family

but for me, my heart and my mind
are both telling me to do this.

Hi.
How are you?

Nice to meet you.

Nice meet you too. You look great.
You look beautiful.

Oh, thank you. You look great too.

You're so tall.

How's the weather up there?

Can you touch the ceiling
or something?

(LAUGHS)

He wasn't like what I expected.

He wasn't like what I expected.

Only because usually my type is the
typical bad boy covered in tatts.

This guy actually looks really,
very sweet and kind.

He looks genuine.

I'm shaking.

You look good.

I should probably tell you
when I'm nervous, my hands sweat.

(LAUGHTER)

So when you grab these...

They'll slip off.

There's your warning.

We are good.

I did pack paper towels
weirdly enough.

The fact that she was funny

and quirky at the ceremony,
good starter.

I think she's definitely
going to challenge me.

She is loud and gorgeous.

You know, confident so that's good.

It will be very interesting.

You're shaking.

I am. No, no, no.

That's all right. It's alright.
Don't stress.

We are in this together.

We are in this together now
so don't stress.

ALL: Aww.

We are in this together.

OK, OK.

He could see how nervous I was

and how vulnerable I felt

and how vulnerable I felt

and he actually grabbed me
and took charge of that.

Which I really like.

Family and friends,
I'd like to welcome you to share

in the celebration of Cyrell and
Nicholas's commitment to each other.

I'd firstly like to ask before
we go ahead if anybody here objects

to this ceremony proceeding,

please speak now
or forever hold your peace.

I actually looked back at my brother

and I was like, waiting,
are you going to say anything?

I'd firstly like to ask
before we go ahead

if anybody here objects
to the ceremony proceeding,

please speak now
or forever hold your peace.

please speak now
or forever hold your peace.

When the celebrant asked

if there was anyone
who was against this wedding,

I actually looked back at my brother

and I was like waiting,
are you going to say anything?

(LAUGHTER)

The protective brother.

It's now my honour

and my privilege to invite
you to exchange your marriage vows.

and my privilege to invite
you to exchange your marriage vows.

I have to say first though,
this was really hard.

To my new husband
that I've only just met,

here's to an experience
that we sure won't forget.

Since you don't know me

and I don't know you, here are some
guidelines to help you get through.

If I'm being rude
and I'm in a foul mood,

there's a strong chance
that I just need some food.

(LAUGHTER)

(LAUGHTER)

You will never feel lonely,
beside you I stand.

I promise to be open
with all that I am.

Here's to our exciting journey
and hoping you're the one.

It's said when you meet true love
then forever's just begun.

That was beautiful.

(APPLAUSE)

Well done.

Well, I knew from the beginning
deep down,

from the bottom of my heart

from the bottom of my heart

that, when I laid eyes on you,
I was going to marry you.

(LAUGHTER)

It's been a whirlwind
few minutes of knowing you...

(LAUGHS)

..but I feel it's been
a long time coming.

I feel so happy and relieved
it's you standing in front of me.

In front of our family and friends,

I want to make a promise that
I give this marriage my everything.

I will always support you as your
best friend and now as your husband.

Let us both cherish this moment

and make the most of what the future
has in store for us

as husband and wife.

Thanks.

(APPLAUSE)

We now come to the exchanging
of the rings.

I'll get ready for this.

I'm just going to slide on.

It's going to slide right in there.

(LAUGHTER)

Bit early.

He said the same thing.

Right, that's bad.

OK, right we both do those kind
of jokes.

We're going to get along just fine.

All good.

Well, this is a struggle.

That's what she said.

That's what she said.

(LAUGHTER)

I feel like my brother is
just shaking his head constantly.

Give it a little bit of time, guys.

It now gives me great pleasure
to pronounce you partners for life.

You may kiss your bride.

That's disrespectful.

I'm standing there and I'm looking
at Nic but at the same time,

I'm standing there and I'm looking
at Nic but at the same time,

I can hear my brother in the
background muttering something.

I said I wasn't going to kiss,

I'm not going to do that
in front of my dad or Ivan

because I knew it would be an issue.

But I just think, you know what,
go for it. Kiss him.

(CHEERING)

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

Ivan wasn't very happy
with me kissing him.

But he leant in
and his vows got to me.

It was heat of the moment.
It felt right to kiss him.

Meanwhile, for Jules and Cam...

..it's love at first sight...

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

..and the smitten pair's
passionate chemistry

..and the smitten pair's
passionate chemistry

continues well into
the reception celebrations.

What a ripper!

(APPLAUSE)

I'm really happy for her.

I think she really likes him. Yup.

They just seemed so comfortable
together, didn't they?

I mean, you saw what I saw.

They just seemed really happy.

I'll be honest because
I'm very honest, my thing was

I'm tall, I'm quite curvy
and I wanted someone smaller than me

but as soon as I got to you,

I promise you, I just...

I promise you, I just...

That all went.

Exactly the same for me.
Yeah.

Exactly the same for me.

You feel it straight away.

Like, I see what they've done here.

Height is no longer an issue to me.

You as a human being,

you are exactly the same kind
of person I want to be with.

He's confident, he's charming.

My dad, my mum.

Lovely to see you again.

No, don't cry.

Great smile, kind eyes.

I'm winning.

I'm definitely winning all round.

(LAUGHTER)

(LAUGHTER)

She is absolutely stunning,
is Jules.

I can see within the really small
bit of time

we've actually just chatted, she
is proper gorgeous on the inside.

I'm just saying, you're just me
but morphed into a man.

Were you? He was just saying
the same thing about me.

They're so cute, aren't they? Blah.

On the other side of town...

..Cyrell and Nic are slowly becoming
more comfortable with one another.

How are you feeling?
Are you feeling better?

I feel better.

You were a bit anxious at the start.

I was so nervous. Was that obvious?

My shaking wasn't making
you nervous?

I think the walls are coming down.

We are starting to talk.

I'm starting to see what makes
her laugh, what makes her tick.

Have you been overseas?

Yeah, Philippines and Bali.

That doesn't count.

That doesn't count.

I meant Europe
or somewhere like that.

Wow.

No, I meant...

OK, he's not a serious guy.

I can't do serious.

Are you asking questions? Go.

Give me what you want.
Grill me. Grill me.

What do you want to know? I haven't
been engaged before so...

So one point for him.

I'm up one.

We're going to keep tabs? All right.

The good thing about Nic is that
he has a similar sense of humour.

The good thing about Nic is that
he has a similar sense of humour.

You know how happy I am to see
a male version of that?

It's good. So far, I'm cracking up.
It's making me laugh so why not?

While Cyrell is laughing,
Ivan is far from amused.

I've had my eyes on him all night.

Haven't had a chance to talk to him
at the moment but let's just say,

I want to get to know him a bit more
and see what type of guy he is.

Nic, Can I have a chat
with you outside?

Nic, Can I have a chat
with you outside?

Yeah.

We'll go and have a chat.

Oh, OK.

I just want him to do
the right thing by my sister.

My sister is no toy.

My sister is here
for the right reasons.

My sister is here to find love.

My sister is here to get to be
with a person

and settle down with
and if you're not that guy,

then get the (BLEEP) out of here.

Plain and simple.

Nic, how are you going?

Good, mate.

Nice to meet you again.
Yeah.

Let's cut the bullshit.

What are you after?

Look, I'm ready to settle down,
ready to find a nice girl.

I've been through hell
and back for her.

Yeah?
And nothing is going to change now.

Yeah, that's fine.

You hurt her, I'll be here standing
in front of your face and tell you,

what the (BLEEP) is happening?

You know, don't...

Yeah. Just be patient. Give it...

Yeah.

Why should I give you a chance?

I tell you now,
you're going to earn your respect.

I tell you now,
you're going to earn your respect.

Yeah.

I'm not going to give you this
respect with this smiley face.

No, no, no.

You can't earn that
within an hour or two.

No, that's fine.
Earn that within time.

I've seen my sister brokenhearted
too many times.

That's fine.
I haven't done it though.

But I tell you,
it's not going to happen.

Have you been brokenhearted
in your life?

I don't think
I've had my heart broken

because I've never been
in that situation.

I don't think
I've ever been in love.

I haven't been in a very long,
serious relationship.

I haven't been in a very long,
serious relationship.

And what's your longest?

About a year.

A year?
Yeah.

And you're telling me
you want to settle down?

Look, I've had a bit of a past.

I've had a lot going on in my life.

I wasn't really ready
to settle down.

And what was the cause
of you not to settle down?

I... Ugh... I was sick.

I was sick a few years ago.

Sick?
Yeah.

So every time you get the flu,
you're going to say, you know what,

Cyrell, I'm sick.
I've got to go my way now.

No, no, no. Not like that.
Not like that.

So what is your sickness
for you not to settle down?

So what is your sickness
for you not to settle down?

That's not a good enough excuse
for me. If you ask me.

I...

I was sick.
I was sick a few years ago.

Sick?
Yeah.

So every time you get a flu,

you're going to say, you know what,
Cyrell, I'm sick.

I've got to go my way now.

No, no, no. Not like that.
Not like that.

So what is your sickness
for you not to settle down?

That's not a good enough excuse.

If you ask me.

If you ask me.

Look, I...

I...

Four years ago, I had cancer.

So, yeah,
I had a form of testicle cancer

but it developed in my stomach.

I went through chemo, had surgery,

I went through a lot
and I wasn't ready to open up.

I wasn't ready to settle down
and do that so that's...

It wasn't just a (BLEEP) cold
or anything.

It wasn't just a (BLEEP) cold
or anything.

Yeah.
Legit.

Yeah.
So that's why I haven't been ready.

You know, I wanted to find myself.

Obviously, you guys don't know that.

I haven't said anything
to Cyrell yet.

I'd prefer me to talk to her
about what I've gone through.

Yeah.
That's between her and I.

You know, all in good time but,
yeah, in saying that,

you're also talking a good game for
her but I've got to see that too.

What does your sister deserve?

Happiness?
Yeah.

Love?
Yeah.

Somebody to treat her right?
Yeah.

That's what I deserve too.
It doesn't go one way.

It goes two ways.
Every relationship.

That's why we've got to take
each day as it comes.

Get to know each other.

Hopefully we are right
for each other.

If I'm willing to do something
like this,

which is a whole 'nother level.

Yeah.
I think that says a lot.

So...

See what happens.

Look, I'm all for family and being
protective, I think that's great.

I think he's going to keep her safe.

If I had a younger sister,
I'd do the same.

What did you do?

And where's my husband?

I'm not here to impress Ivan.

I'm not here to impress Ivan.

I'm here to impress Cyrell.

I want to make her happy. You know.

Yes?

You know, I've always disagreed
with this whole situation.

With this love expert shit.

Yeah.

The only thing I want you to do...

..give him a chance.

Yeah?

He looks like a genuine bloke.

Make sure you don't (BLEEP)
it up.

Make sure you don't (BLEEP)
it up.

Tonight, they had a little talk

which I was a little bit
worried about

but he seems to think that he is OK.

And after that,
I calmed down a bit, yeah.

I give my approval for tonight.

For tonight?

ANNOUNCER: Cam and Jules, please step
forward for your first dance.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

Oh, I'm really nervous.

Uh, we've got our first dance.

I have waited for this moment
my whole life.

..and all of a sudden...

(OMINOUS THUD)

It's just like, boom.

A glitch in the sound system

before their first dance has left the
newlyweds stranded on the dancefloor.

There was actually a moment
of a little bit of silence.

It was just very awkward.

Do you?

He could tell that I was shaking
like a leaf. He held my hands.

He was like,
"Just pretend no one else is here."

Just look at me.

We couldn't actually hear the music.

So I decided to recreate
the first dance.

(LAUGHTER)

I could see how much
it meant to Jules.

We just nailed it. We just shifted
like no one was watching.

I just think he's awesome.

He just gets me and my little ways.

I just think you can't really
make that up.

You've either got it or you don't.

It says a lot
and speaks volumes about him.

The guests went dead silent.
to start off and they went, "Uh...

"This is happening.
This is really happening."

And then it went from there.

And then it went from there.

Let's do this.

And then it all came together.

It was delightful.

Just special, hey?

I know.

If we could hear it.

(LAUGHTER)

(LAUGHTER)

The vibe was there. You could feel
it but you just couldn't hear it.

You made everything better.

I just think you're really great.
You're lovely.

I think you're so wonderful too.
Beautiful soul and I see that.

Thank you.

Yes.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

As the wedding night
draws to a close...

..our newlyweds head back
to their hotels

and following a perfect day
for the lovestruck Jules and Cam,

their first night alone promises
to be magical.

I just think
that I have struck gold.

The thing is,
I don't want to be pessimistic

The thing is,
I don't want to be pessimistic

and be like,
it's just the first night.

You know what, emotions are emotions

and there's definitely
something here.

(LAUGHS)

There's definitely
a bit of lust going on.

Yes.

Considering there was just instant
chemistry flying between us...

..Yes, I'm looking forward
to tonight.

Let's go to bed, husband.

Let's go to bed, wifey.

Definitely have a bit of a cuddle.

Definitely have a bit of a cuddle.

100%. That's going to happen.

(CHUCKLES)

You've taken it off?

Mm-hmm.

Here we are.

The wedding night is
a fascinating insight

as to how comfortable
newlyweds are with one another.

And for someone like Cyrell,
this will be her first chance

to be with her new husband,

away from her family monitoring
her every move.

Will this newlywed freedom make
her more relaxed

Will this newlywed freedom make
her more relaxed

or will it cause her to withdraw

and shut down as the nerves get
the better of her?

Oh, la la. I like.

Take it off, take it off, do it.

Get in here, you sexy thing.

Ugh.

Wow.

Our first time sleeping
next to each other

without anyone,
no parents, no brother!

So, yeah, it's actually...

I just want to have fun,
to be honest.

Hello, sexy.

Lucky I got my pants on.

The legs!

Definitely some chemistry there so,

yeah, have to see how it
all works out.

See what happens.

(LAUGHS NERVOUSLY)

Ooh.

What's that?

What's this, huh?

You are hiding the goodies.

What's this?

I don't know how to turn it off.

It's too fancy for us.

You've got to figure this thing out
because I'm not sleeping with...

You've got to figure this thing out
because I'm not sleeping with...

Oh.

That was an epic fail.

One more. One more.

No.

Maybe it's outside.

I don't know.

I'm trying all the buttons.

Pull the wire.

I'm an electrician
and I'm struggling.

I feel like
you're in the wrong trade.

Try doing plumbing or something.

Yeah.

(LAUGHTER)

Tomorrow night...

It's all happening now.

I'm just feeling scared
that I won't like him.

..another four singles take
the ultimate leap of faith...

Sorry to disappoint already.

..but the road to love...

I don't know
if I brought my wedding dress.

..isn't always easy...

I cannot believe I slept in.

I cannot believe I slept in.

So we are running two hours late
at the moment.

(BLEEP)

You need to take a deep breath.

..or predictable.

I'll be ready when I'm ready.

This is my wedding day,
do you think I want to be late?
