Madagascar: A Little Wild (2020–…): Season 6, Episode 3 - King of the Humble - full transcript

Places!

Woo‐hoo!

Weeee!

‐ Huh?

I'm on
top of the world!

‐ Huh? Did you have to be on top
of it while I was still sleeping?

‐ Morning, Bartholomew.

Still flexin' that
new wing, huh?

‐ I need all the flexing I can get,
now that I'm returning to the wild!

‐ You're leaving the habitat?

‐ Indeed. My wing is healed
and stronger than ever,

thanks to Lady Katarina.

Soon, I will strut my
stuff in the open skies!

I've been studying my peers
on this "natural channel."

‐ I think he means
"nature show."

‐ Oh! ‐ Oh!

‐ Oh! This is the best part!

Now see
the majestic bat.

So, so wild and free!

‐ Whoa. I think you mean
this is the best part!

Now here comes
the king of the jungle.

See how a proud lion
protects his pride.

‐ If I'm the king of the jungle,
then you must be my pride!

Ah!

‐ You're right, Alex,
that was the best part!

‐ Thanks for the
pawtograph, Bartholomew!

‐ Now we'll always have
something to remember you by.

‐ I will miss you all dearly.

‐ We'll miss you, too. Do
you really have to leave?

‐ I was born in the wild.
It's where I belong.

I can't believe I'll
never see you again.

‐ What? That's not true!

‐ Yeah, this isn't goodbye. It's
just, "See you later, alligator."

‐ He's a bat, Gloria!

Don't worry, Bartholomew, we'll
visit you in the wild all the time!

‐ I wish you could.

You may know your way around the
city, but the wild is, well, wilder.

It would be much too
difficult for you to find me.

‐ Maybe for your
average habitat cat.

But not for jungle royalty!

‐ Uh... ‐ Uh...

‐ Me. I can totally find
my way around the wild.

‐ You can? ‐ Wait, really?

‐ Uh, hello? Who led you
through all the wild crowds

at that pizzeria
opening last week?

‐ You did. ‐ That's true.

‐ I'm total wilderness material,
"le king de le jungle"!

‐ I don't think that's a thing.

‐ In fact, it'll
be so easy for me,

that we'll head to the
wild and visit you today.

‐ You will?

‐ We will? ‐ We will?

‐ We sure will!

We'll help you settle in
on your first day back

and have a real wild adventure!

My feline intuition
will lead the way!

‐ I went camping once,

so I know my way around
the great outdoors.

‐ All I need is five minutes and
I can be prepared for anything,

but are you sure, Alex?

The only time you let your paws get
dirty is during your weekly mud bath.

‐ Another good
point. ‐ Also true.

‐ Then it's a good thing
the wild is full of mud.

I'll fit right in.

‐ Well, um. I guess if you
believe in your wildness,

then we believe
in your wildness.

‐ Thank you. I'm not
some pampered kitten.

The wild's no match for me.

‐ Good morning, A Little Wild!

Today's the big
day, Bartholomew!

Time to return to the
wilds of New Jersey!

‐ New Jersey? Wild?

‐ Let's get you in your travel
crate, and we'll be on our way.

Huh. Where is that crate?

‐ Oh! It is almost time for me
to go. Be careful in the wild.

And if you get lost,
you can always find help

from a supportive sparrow
or gregarious groundhog or‐‐

‐ Bartholomew, please!

I don't need anybody's help.

‐ But, just in case you do,

I've got a special something
in the lost and found...

‐ A triple chocolate cake?

‐ What? No.

‐ A map of New Jersey!

‐ Excellent! I can show
you how to find my cave.

Just exit the travel
tunnel through the stream,

go over these rocks,
through this field,

take a left at the mulberry tree,
and a right at this rock outcropping.

‐ Over, through,
left, right, got it!

‐ Then, cross the creek
with the purple flowers,

follow it upstream, and you'll
find my cave right here!

It should not take you
more than 15 minutes.

‐ Awesome! I'll put this
away for safekeeping.

‐ Marty. That's a cute map,

but you'll have something
even better, remember?

‐ GPS? ‐ Me!

‐ All right, Bartholomew. It's
time for you to spread your wings.

Oh, I just hate saying goodbye.

‐ This isn't goodbye. It's
"See you later, alligator!"

‐ Bye! Time to go wild!

‐ Uh‐oh. Got the hiccups, Dave?

‐ We've tried everything
to get rid of them:

hanging upside down...

‐ Is that all you've
tried? Hanging upside down?

‐ We're chimps,
that's what we do.

You got any better ideas?

‐ In fact, I do!

Alex the Lion will scare
those hiccups away!

Argh!

‐ Maybe there's something in
here to cure Dave's hiccups.

Nope. Nothing in here.

‐ Melman, you did it!
You cured Dave's hiccups.

‐ No problem, Dave!

I guess scaring things
just comes naturally to me.

‐ I would've scared
them away eventually.

‐ Yeah!

‐ Huh?

‐ Woo! ‐ Yeah!

‐ Map, shmap! We
won't need this.

Not with the king of the
jungle leading the way.

Jersey, here we come! Woo‐hoo!

‐ New Jersey?

They're in for a long ride.

‐ This map does seem important.

Think they'll be able to
find their way without it?

Well... good luck!

‐ Woo‐hoo!

‐ Woo‐hoo! ‐ Woo‐hoo!

‐ Yeah! ‐ Yeah!

‐ Huh? ‐ Huh?

‐ What's that strange buzzing?

‐ Stand back. A proud
lion protects his pride!

Ha!

Uh...

And I just protected you
all from this ferocious fly.

Now, who's ready to
indulge in the wilderness?

‐ We won't be
indulging for long.

Finding Bartholomew should
only take 15 minutes

with the help of my trusty map.

Where's my map?

‐ I'm sure it's
around here somewhere.

‐ How are we ever gonna find
Bartholomew without a map?

‐ My sweet, innocent,
beautiful pride.

I told you my feline
intuition would lead the way.

The map is where it
belongs, at the habitat.

‐ What? ‐ Excuse you!

‐ But Bartholomew laid
out a path on the map

to help us reach him.
Now what are we gonna do?

‐ Follow my lead
and enjoy the ride.

‐ Boy, that scenic field of reddish
three‐leaf clovers sure was itchy.

‐ Alex...

I think that was poison ivy.

‐ That's ridiculous, Marty, it
would've come with a warning label.

Look! They even provide
scrubby brushes in this place.

What don't they think of?

The wild: I give it five stars!

Get behind me.

I hear the growl of
a ferocious beast.

‐ Huh? ‐ Huh?

‐ Whoopsie daisy!
It's just my belly.

Somebody's ready
for a wild snack!

‐ Well, tell that belly
to hang tight. I'm on it!

‐ Remember, Alex, you can't
order dumplings in the wild!

‐ Duh, I knew that!

We're in New
Jersey. I'll just...

order pizza!

What?

Everybody knows you can order
pizza anywhere in New Jersey.

‐ Right. Good one, Alex.

A mulberry tree!

Just like Bartholomew
showed us on the map.

We must be getting closer.

‐ Told you I knew
what I was doing.

‐ What is that?

‐ Stand back.

The king of the jungle
will investigate.

Hello? Anybody home?

‐ Ant'ney! ‐ Ant'ney!

‐ What are you kids doing here?
You scared the feathers outta me!

‐ We're here to
visit Bartholomew!

‐ Kate released him back
into the wild today.

‐ Good old Barty? Where is he?

‐ We actually haven't found him
yet, but we're close, thanks to me!

‐ What brings you to the wild?

‐ My cousin Angie lives out here.
She invited me to a shin‐dig.

These Jersey pigeons
know how to party.

Last time I was here, we
hung out with some seagulls

who live by the motto
"Fly, Laugh, Poop."

No, no, it was "Try to poop"?

Or is it, "Cry, clap, poop."

Ah! Whoa! What was that?

Our tummies!

We're all so hungry.

‐ Oh, then you gotta
try these mulberries.

‐ I can't reach them.

How can I eat them if
I can't reach them?

‐ Hang on, Stretch. I'll peck
'em down for ya, it's easy.

‐ Thanks, but I got it covered.

Ha!

‐ Uh...

‐ Ugh! This is what happens
when Carlos skips mani‐pedi day.

‐ My claws are dull. ‐ You
sure you don't want my help?

‐ A proud leader
protects his pride!

‐ If you say so. I better jet, don't
wanna be late for Angie's party!

Later, kids!

‐ Melman!

‐ Maybe I can help you, Al‐‐ Ah!

Butterfly!

‐ Yeah!

‐ Run for your lives!

Butterfly!

‐ Don't worry, Alex,
I got you! Mulberries!

‐ Ooh, berries!

‐ Huh?

Is this the butterfly you
were so scared of? A leaf?

‐ You can never be too careful.

Gloria, look!

Hello there, Mr. Worm.

Or is it Miss? Do you
want to be my friend?

‐ Uh, Melman. That's not a worm.

It's a caterpillar, which means
it's going to turn into a bu‐‐.

‐ You know, these
berries are pretty good,

but I still think we
should've ordered pizza.

‐ Huh?

Wow.

I'm naming my worm Carol.

Let's go, Carol!

Carol and I are tired.
Are we there yet?

‐ We would be, if Alex hadn't
left the map at the habitat.

‐ Did you say something, Gloria?

‐ Thunder! ‐ We
should find somewhere

to keep dry before
it starts raining.

‐ And somewhere
I can take a nap.

‐ My wild instincts
are telling me...

we should check into a hotel!

‐ Huh? ‐ Huh?

‐ You don't think we're just gonna
walk up to a hotel in the wild...?

‐ Obviously.

We'll have to take a cab.

‐ Uh...

‐ I don't think there are
a ton of cabs out here.

‐ You'll see. This
always works in the city.

Taxi!

Taxi!

Taxi!

Taxi!

‐ Melman, you found a shelter!

‐ I did? ‐ And look!
A rock outcropping,

just like Bartholomew
talked about.

‐ Why don't you leave
the navigating to me,

the pride leader?

‐ Okay. Let us know when
you're done navigating.

We'll be right in here,
all warm and cozy.

‐ How's a cabbie gonna
find us under there?

Taxi, taxi, taxi!

‐ We're gonna have to
drag him in, aren't we?

‐ I'm afraid so.

Hey, stop it!

What's going on
here? Put me down!

I'm gonna get us safely to a‐‐

Actually, you know what?

This is warm and cozy!

‐ Ah!

You're afraid of
thunder too, Carol?

We have so much in common.

We're gonna be friends forever!

‐ Melman, you do know caterpillars
eventually become butter‐‐?

Huh?

Never mind...

‐ Did it stop raining?

‐ Yes! Finally!

‐ Then what's that sound?

‐ It's a creek!

‐ With pretty purple flowers.

This is the creek
Bartholomew mentioned!

‐ All we have to do is
cross to the other side,

and we'll find
Bartholomew's cave!

‐ I know! I'll drag
those rocks to the water,

and we can hop over
them, like a bridge.

‐ Great idea, Gloria!

‐ We might get
splashed a little...

but we'll be on the other
side of the creek in no time.

‐ Wait. I have a better idea.

We'll build a sailboat, like
the ones at Central Park,

so we can sail across the creek
while staying safe‐and dry.

Easy‐peasy!

‐ That doesn't sound
very easy‐peasy.

I vote for Gloria's bridge idea!

‐ We get it. Cats and water.

You're afraid of
getting splashed.

‐ I'll be there to hold your
paw, help you across the bridge,

and make sure you
stay safe and dry.

‐ I'm not afraid of anything and I
definitely don't need anyone's help.

I'm the king of the jungle.

Others look to me to help them.

In fact, I see there's a
need for my help right now.

So excuse me, while I help those poor,
lost, defenseless deer cross the creek.

‐ Those deer look pretty
happy where they are.

Oh! Maybe you can sing
them a song instead.

‐ I know what I'm doing. I
don't need anyone's help.

I am the helper!

Hello there.

‐ Alex! ‐ Oh, no!

‐ Come back, deer!

‐ Okay. This is fine.

I'm cold and alone, but...

I'm still the king
of the jungle.

Whatever comes my
way, I can handle it!

Except maybe that!

Who's there? Show yourself!

I'm no king of the jungle!

I'm at the bottom
of the food chain!

Oh, no.

No, no.

No, no, no.

No!

Huh?

‐ We've got you, Alex!

‐ Bartholomew! Yes!

Take that, fly!

Whoa! Yeah!

‐ Alex! Are you all right?

‐ Never been better, thanks
to you and your friends!

What did you say
your names were?

Ah! So, you're the shrieky
creatures from the cave!

‐ Oops! Our apologies.

We forgot that not all
animals speak wild bat!

‐ How did you know where I was?

‐ When you, Marty,
Gloria, and Melman

did not arrive for your
visit, I grew worried.

So, I sent a bat signal
out to the entire colony.

‐ That's us! ‐ That's us!

‐ We've been using echolocation

to look for you and
the gang all day!

‐ That's when we make
clicking sounds, like this,

and use the echo to find things.

‐ Like lost friends. ‐
Or the remote to the TV.

‐ I'm sorry you had
to come find me.

We came out here to help you
feel at home in the wild.

But instead, I'm the
one who needed help.

I couldn't even fend for myself.

‐ Alex? Fend for yourself?

What is this, New York City?

We bats rely on one another.

That's why I asked my
colony to help find you.

Depending on our friends
is what makes us strong!

‐ But I'm supposed to be a leader, and
a leader shouldn't need anyone's help.

‐ A strong leader relies on
the skills of the whole colony.

‐ Or the whole pride.

We all need a little
help sometimes.

I have to tell the gang that I
should've accepted their help.

But we gotta find them first.

Follow me!

Actually, you know the
wild better than me.

What do you say?

Will you help the
king of the jungle?

‐ It would be our pleasure!

‐ We found them!

‐ Huh? Alex!

‐ Alex? We've been looking
everywhere for you.

‐ Thank goodness you found us!

‐ Actually, I didn't
find you, they did.

‐ Bartholomew! ‐ Bartholomew!

‐ Hello, friends!

‐ I'm sorry I let you down.

I let my pride get
in the way of...

my pride!

‐ It's okay, Alex.
We forgive you!

Besides, if it wasn't for you,
I wouldn't have met Carol here!

‐ Bring it in! ‐ Group hug!

‐ Wow, Alex, you really can order
pizza anywhere in New Jersey!

‐ Leave it to the king of the jungle
to find cell service in the wild.

Wait, do you have a cell
phone I don't know about?

‐ Actually, I'm not quite king
of the jungle material yet.

So, for now, I'm good with
being the King of New York!

And thank you, Barty and
friends, for the extra toppings!

‐ Fruit makes
everything tastier!

‐ This might even be
better than New York pizza!

‐ I'm gonna pretend you
didn't just say that.

‐ Ant'ney! ‐ Ant'ney!

‐ Hello, Ant'ney.

‐ If it isn't my favorite
bat! Hiya, Barty!

‐ It's Bartholomew.

‐ How was your
cousin's party? ‐ Wild!

I've eaten enough mulberries
for ten lifetimes.

I need me some city food!

‐ Oh! Here you go, Carol!

You gotta eat so one day you'll
become a big, grown up caterpillar.

‐ Melman, buddy, you know that a
grown up caterpillar is a bu‐‐?

‐ Hm?

‐ Ah... forget it.
