MacGyver (1985–1992): Season 3, Episode 18 - Rock the Cradle - full transcript

Jack, why don't you just, uh,

stay and take care of the baby.

We'll try to get
along without you.

( Sighs )

He looks good.

I knew he was gonna
be in good hands.

Katie, there are some
things we should talk about.

Jack, do you think
I could freshen up?

I've been up for two days.

Oh, sure, shower's
upstairs on the left.

Thanks.

( Brakes screeching )

Here you go.

Got it.

Okay, guys, just
as we discussed.

Ed, you're with me.

( Grunts ) That's
the last bundle.

How much you think
we can print with all this?

Zip until we get
those plates back.

Oh, I figure we should
pay dawn another call.

I think maybe she's
holding out on us.

I think maybe you're right.

Agent: Treasury
department! Open the door!

- We have a warrant to search these premises.
- Come on. Let's go.

Agent: Let's go.

Wilson, take the
back. Denny, upstairs.

Agent: Move it, move it!

( Mechanical humming )

Agent ( From afar ): Rear exit.

Now what?

Just sit tight and
keep your mouth shut.

Wait them out.

"And though the hill
was high and steep...

( Coos )

"the little engine said, 'i
think I can, I think I can,

'i think I can, I...'

"black smoke and obnoxious fumes

"were spilling out,

"but the little engine
just held her nose,

and said,
'ch-ch-ch-ch- ch-ch-ch,

( nasal ): 'I think I can,

I think I can, I think I can.'"

and finally, with one final

"ch-ch-ch-ch-ch

ch-ch... ch..."

she made it to the top!

And what do you
think she said? Huh?

She said, "Whoo-Whoo!

I knew I could, I knew I could."

- ( Cooing )
- Yeah!

Dalton ( Laughing ): Yeah!

The end. Huh?

Umm.

Jack...

Yeah?

Thank you.

Thank you for
being such a good...

Father?

I'm the father, aren't I?

There's no question

we knew how to have a good time.

And there was that
time on the strand...

you, me, the moon,

and the mescal.

( Chuckles ) Lot of mescal.

Jack...

Not that I was too
messed up to remember.

I just want to be
sure, that's all.

He's not your child, Jack.

He's Carlo's.

Oh.

But... I did name him after you,

because I knew that he
would have your kindness,

your laugh...

Your love.

Well, right now he
needs changing.

I think it's... Mommy's turn.

Jack, I'm sorry if I
made you think that...

No apology necessary.

Hey, this is Jack Dalton,

the mad rover, remember?

I can't have any little
ankle biter tying me down.

Shoot, I can't even
keep a goldfish.

( Indistinct voices )

Mm.

I want this place sealed.

Do something about
that door down there.

Agent: Yes sir,

I'll get right on it.

So what have we got?

Nothing. We've turned
this place inside out.

( over speaker ): No
sign of the counterfeiters

or any printing apparatus.

We're, uh, regrouping

to move in on their apartments.

Well, keep us posted, will you?

You got it.

Well...

This is quite a place, isn't it?

Jack sure knows how
to pick 'em, doesn't he?

Well, listen, not
much more to do here.

Let's get going.

Yeah, let me give Jack a call,

let him know
these guys are still

On the loose.

( Dialing )

What's the matter? What is it?

( Indistinct voices )

Something's weird here.

Thornton: What?

MacGyver: I'm not sure.

You notice anything funny
about that mirrored wall?

Thornton: Looks like an
ordinary mirrored wall to me.

What are you thinking about?

MacGyver ( Over speaker
): The way the ground floor

is laid out,

This room is about
half the size it should be.

( Barrel pumping )

Pete!

( Grunting )

( Yelling )

( Panting )

Rough landing.

You know, Mac,

I'm gonna miss my co-pilot.

Yeah, it's been an experience.

Not altogether unpleasant,

I might add.

Now, I don't know
what I would have done

without you guys.

- ( Baby whimpering )
- Especially you, Jack.

So where to for
you and little Jack?

I don't know.

There's other jobs, other towns.

( Fussing )

Oh, come on, oh.

This is a great
town to raise a kid in.

Clean air, botanical gardens,

Museums, dentists...

Jack, this little boy

is gonna need a family.

Some family.

Yeah, like uncles.

Lots of uncles. Three.

Three uncles.

Yeah, somebody
to take him fishing,

Throw him a football...

Yeah.

Fly him to Panama.

Why don't I take you
on a tour of Dalton air?

I'll show you what I mean.
They'll take care of the baby.

- Here, I got him.
- You bet, you bet. I got him, I got him.

- I got him.
- Forget about it.

You sure you don't mind?

No way.

Hey, maybe I'll even

throw in dinner.

- Just don't get me started on the mescal.
- Oh, stop.

Uh, Mac, could I use your Jeep?

My caddy's in the shop.

- Uh, keys are on the wall.
- Thanks.

Okay, bye.

( Kisses )

Okay, it's okay.

It's all right.

( Cooing )

( MacGyver mimics cooing )

- See you later.
- Bye-bye.

Thanks.

Just the guys, huh, j.J.?

You know, I never thought of you

as the paternal type.

Pete, this has nothing
to do with fatherhood.

I happen to know
talent when I see it.

- Ah.
- How about a goal?

Oh, yeah, yeah, here.

How's that?

He's a rookie, open it up.

All right.

The puck, the puck...

- Here you go.
- Face off at center ice.

All right. Go get 'em, kid.

- Go get 'em.
- Shoots...

MacGyver: And he
scores! Unbelievable!

He's wide open!

The future of amateur
hockey in the United States!

( Mimics crowd cheering )
