Jill's excited about the arrival of Darling, a senior donkey. When she tries to help settle him in, Darling seems like he'd rather not be there.
Let's go down the open road
Here we go

Jill!
Jill!
Jill, Darling Donkey is here!
Hi, little sis.
He is coming down the track right now!
Oh, yes!
Jacky, go get the animals ready.
I'm gonna get a carrot and go say hi.
Hi, Jamma!
Hi, Darling!
Do you wanna take his lead rope, Jill?
Darling Donkey, this is Farmer Jill.
Hi, Darling.
Welcome to Lovely Little Farm.
We're all very excited to meet you.
Jamma told me
that your owner's moving away,
and can't look after you anymore.
Well, I can't wait to be your new carer.
Come on.
Jamma, am I doing this right?
Darling won't come with me.
Darling's been alone,
living outside in the field
near my old cottage for a long time.
Hey, donkey buddy.
Now, I think he's gonna love
the gentle care you'll give him, Jill.
You're one of my muddy buds now.
Come on, let's walk.
Darling might just need a bit of time
to get used to being here, and you.
How 'bout I lead him, for now.
Don't worry, Darling.
I'll make sure you love living here
on my Lovely Little Farm.
Quackety Duck Duck,
this is our new donkey friend, Darling.
I'm the house duck--
Who lives in the farmhouse
with the house pup.
That's right.
Quackety Duck Duck's my pet duckling
who's allowed to sleep in my bedroom.
You, Darling,
will be living in the barn with Al Alpaca,
Pickle the pony,
Bif and Bop, Maya the goat,
and two new baby dragons.
The little dragons don't have names yet,
-but they go squeaky-squeak.
-Squeak-squawk.
Parent to parent,
those dragon babies are getting
way too big for that eggshell.
We know, Jenna.
That's why we're moving them
into their cozy new nest home today.
Look.
That's a snuggly dragon's nest, all right.
Time to leave your eggshell and get cozy
in your soft new nest, babies.
You're moving home!
Ready, babies?
They like their shell.
You don't want to move out?
Hey, muddy buddies. Darling Donkey's here.
Are we ready to sing him our welcome song?
-Yes!
-I'm most ready!
Everyone, take your places outside!
Goaties! Hurry, goaties. Into the yard!
Here he is!
-Hello! Welcome!
-Hi.
Why's he so slow?
Hey, Darling Donkey's a lot older
than you muddy buddies.
His legs take longer to get him places,
just like old Jamma's.
But, finally, here he is.
Hit it, Pickle.
We're so happy to see you, donkey
We're so happy
Happy.
That you're here
-Here
-Yeah, we know
You're gonna love it
In your cozy stall
On Jill's caring
Nurturing Lovely Little Farm

Lovely Little Farm
Hey.
He didn't clap or cheer.
He doesn't look very happy, Jill.
He's probably just tired
from the long journey.
Is that right, Darling?
Follow your new friends into the barn
for a nap, you sweet donkey.
Well done, Jill.
Hey, pal. I'm Al Alpaca.
I've got the best teeth on the farm.
Come on in! Don't be shy.
Why is Darling so quiet, Jamma?
Doesn't he like it here?
You just need to give him
some kind Jill patience,
and he'll soon feel at home
on Lovely Little Farm.
I can do that, Jamma.
I'm going to be so patient with him.
I can look after baby animals,
so I can look after old animals.
You can, Farmer Jill.
You wanna know how I know that?
Because your Jamma is older too.
And you always care for me just fine.
Here you go.
Hello, Darling.
No one lives in this old shed.
Why are you here?
Everyone's snugged together
next door in the barn.
That's it. We'll take it nice and slow.
Come on.
Come on.
That's good. Well done.
Welcome!
I've made this stall into your own warm
and comfortable donkey bedroom.
Lots of fresh straw.
Hi! Pickle here.
Your pony next door neighbor.
And Al Alpaca. Remember?
With the teeth.
You need anything, just hee-haw over.
Not sure he wants to be friends.
Aren't they the sweetest little dragons
you've ever seen?
We might call them Squawky and Squeaky.
Can you guess why?
I can.
Where'd he go?
Darling, stop!
I know your new stall
doesn't feel like home yet.
But I can make it more homely for you.
Here. Why don't you have a carrot
in your stall?
I know it'll make you feel more relaxed.
Come on.
Careful now.
Want to eat it from my hand,
lovely donkey?
-Snack!
-Snack!
Everyone wants carrot snacks!
No, everyone!
This carrot is for Darling.
Our newest muddy buddy.
Don't think he wants
to be a muddy buddy like us.
Does he, Jill?
Darling.
Good.
Don't run away now,
I'm going to get some more carrots.
I'll be right back.
There.
Babies, I have moved
your fluffy new nest closer to you.
-Look!
-Yes!
So you two cuties
can plop straight down into it.
It's so easy.
In you go!
Please try it, little ones. Please.
It's nap time.
When you're ready to wake,
your new nest is waiting for you, babies.
Juicy carrots for you, Darling.
Good donkey.
This way. That's it.
Follow the carrots back to the barn.
A nice munch in your stall,
and I know you'll feel at home.
Snack! For us this time, Jill.
Carrots are my favorite snack.
Here you go, muddy buds.
He's still not coming.
-Jill.
-Yes, Pickle?
Maybe I could talk to Darling,
horsey to horsey.
But you're a pony, Pickle.
Ponies and donkeys are
part of the same horse family.
And I'm the horsey-pony to help Darling
fall in love with his new barn home.
Nice, kind thinking Pickle.
Maybe if you get Darling
to love his stall,
he might love living here
on my little farm.
And I'll work out how to get Squish
and Squash into their new nest home.
Squish and Squash? Really, Al?
Nuh-uh, still deciding on
their forever names.
Hello, Darling. Wanna be horsey friends?
'Course you do.
And I know the best thing
about your new stall.
This way. Clippity-cloppity.
Darling? Come on.
Meet your scratchy post.
Wanna try?
So rubby.
Where'd that donkey go?
Hi! You two are awake.
Yes, here's your mobile.
Would this help you
to leave your eggshell?
I'll put it right over your new nest.
Thanks for trying, Pickle.
I'll just have to find another way
to get Darling to like his stall
and enjoy living here.
He doesn't want to live here, Jill.
Welcome song, no donkey smile.
Cozy stall and carrots,
still no donkey smile.
You're right, Pickle.
Nothing I've tried has made
Darling feel at home here.
But I'm Darling's farmer now,
and I need to work out what sort
of home Darling needs.
That old donkey still keeping to himself?
I've tried my hardest Jamma, but…
I don't think I'm giving Darling Donkey
the nurturing care he wants.
How about a stroll up to Jamma's trailer?
Sometimes a little walk
gives me time to think.
Figure things out.
Do you think Darling will be okay
on his own?
I think he's fine on his own.
Here we are. Home sweet trailer home.
You love living quietly up here,
don't you, Jamma?
Yeah.
Remember when me and Jacky
thought that you would love living
in the middle of our noisy farmyard?
I love visiting the yard,
but your old Jamma also
likes his own peaceful space
where I can think, work things out.
Remember.
-Nap whenever you like.
-Yeah.
Jamma?
Darling's older like you, isn't he?
Yep. And nearly as gray.
Maybe Darling needs
his own space like you.
Separate, peaceful space.
Close to all my animals,
but… away from them too.
That sounds like a wonderful way
to take care of our special donkey.
How did you think of something
as Jamma-tastic as that?
This might look like a gloomy old shed,
but I'm going to turn it
into a donkey's bedroom.
-Really?
-Yes.
I think Darling would love it.
Because it's a stall of his own.
Close to everyone.
But quiet too.
I think it might be
just what Darling wants.
Farmer Jacky, can you help me empty
this shed using your tractor-trailer?
Yes!
Beep, beep!
Tractor-trailer coming through!
Thanks, little sis.
Jill! Farmer Jill!
-Jill!
-Hey!
This is it!
Our little ones are moving
into their new nest now!
Look at their pretty wings.
You did it. You almost flew.
You next.
Come on!
Come on. You can do it.
Oh, yeah.
-Wow.
-Love your fluffy new nest home now?
They loved it all along, Pickle.
They just wanted
their jangly mobile to go too.
Well done, you two cuties.
And you two cuties, for working out
what your dragons needed
to feel at home.
Good job.
Out you go, little goat.
This shed is a quiet space for Darling.
Oh, Darling.
Do you want to have a look inside?
I think this shed could become your stall.
If you like it.
Come and see.
It's cozy and quiet in here.
All my other muddy buddies
are just through there.
Hi.
If you ever need them, just call.
And when you need your Farmer Jill,
just ring this bell
and I'll come as soon as I can.
What do you think, Darling?
Could you make yourself at home in here
on my Lovely Little Farm?
Yes.
Thank you, Farmer Jill.
He can talk. The donkey can talk!
That's so great, because I love talking.
I'm an amazing talker.
Shh, Pickle. Let's leave Darling
to be in his shed stall.
Talk later, Darling.
This blanket's for you, to make sure
you're extra snugly when you sleep.
Want to try it?
I have never tried a blanket before,
but I think I'd like to. Yes.
Over the back.
And you can sleep standing up.
That is donkey-perfect.
Thank you, Farmer Jill.
I'm so happy I found the stall
that's right for you, gentle donkey.
Welcome to your new home.
Happy donkey home?
Happy, quiet donkey home.
I thought caring for Darling would be like
looking after all my baby animals.
But he needs a different sort of care.
Yep! Us oldies can pull
a few surprises, you know.
So you watch out for that donkey.
Are you asleep, Darling?
No.
Do you think you can call
this little farm home, Darling?
Yes.
You think you'll
like our Farmer Jill, Darling?
Farmer Jill? I already do.
Come on.
Night, night!
Night, night, Darling!
Here we go
Hanging with all the friends
