Las Vegas (2003–2008): Season 3, Episode 10 - For Sail by Owner - full transcript

After Monica's freaky fatal fall, blown from Montecito roof by a desert wind, Ed is appointed her last will's executer, forced to handle her wacky heirs . Ed gets the police off 'suspect' Danny's back. It looks like the new owner will be an organization for the handicapped, whose blind president Matt Monroe takes an interest in Delinda. But Sam's non-divorced ex Casey fields his own fortune to reinstate Ed as operational director and Danny as chief of security. Danny investigates various suspects for how Mike got serious bruises, with surprising results.

Previously on Las Vegas.

- You took Daddy's job?
- I didn't take his job.
He quit, remember?

- Have you fired all
the employees I told you to?
- No.

- I want that done
before the end of the day.
- Hello, Danny.

- Still interested in the Montecito?
- What do you have in mind?

The place is ripe for a takeover.
Monica leveraged it to the brink.

- That's interesting information,
Danny. What about Sam?
- I'll deal with her.

You know that you can get
into a lot of trouble if anybody
finds out that you passed-

Get the jet ready.
We're goin' to Vegas.

Meet me on the roof.
The roof?

All you have to have is a dream
and the next big idea, which I have.

That's why I want you to come
with me and stay by my side...

because someday
this all will be mine.

My God.

Oh, my God.

Oh!
Oh, my God.

Oh, my God! I didn't realize
the sale was this weekend.

How about a little respect?
Monica is dead.

Sorry.
Absolutely right.

Do you have these
in a size nine?

You the one who reported
the incident on the roof
at the Montecito?

Danny McCoy.

So, then, this must be
Monica Mancuso.

Yeah. A gust of wind must have
carried her all the way down the Strip.

Uh-huh.

Did he tell you
they were fighting?

- No, he didn't.
- Mm-hmm.

It was just a disagreement.

There are surveillance cameras on the roof,
if you care to take a look at the footage.

I'd like to see that.

Why did I bring you here?

Well, I didn't say
you pushed her, did I?

Did you?

Good morning, Las Vegas.

Strange happenings
at the Montecito last night...

where new owner, Monica Mancuso,
apparently flew off the roof.

Ed and Casey just lined up the cars.
Picking them up now.

I can't believe
Monica's actually dead.

I can't believe it,
and I was right there.

It makes sense theoretically.
We are essentially in a desert basin,

and, after all,
we do have strong winds.
Tell me about it.

And for a hundred-pound body
to travel more than a mile in half a minute-
I guess it is possible.

Of course it's possible.
It happened.

So you didn't really
push her, did you?
What are you asking me?

It's me we're talking about, Mike.
Of course I didn't push her.

I know. But we're talking about Monica.
Pound for pound, the scariest woman
I ever met.

And a little cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs,
if you know what I mean.

Nobody would blame you if you did
push her... except the authorities.

I didn't push her, okay?

It was a gust of wind
that just blew her away.

That's the story we'll go with.

Danny, there's a detective here to see you.
He's waiting in your office.

Uh, it's probably
the guy from last night.

If he's a little mousy-looking guy,
it's the one.

He'll try to confuse you,
Danny, twist your words.

You just stick with that
"gust of wind" story, my man.

No matter how lame it is.

You know, there's an employee pool
bettin' whether or not you pushed her.

Really?
I didn't bet a dime.

That's good to hear.
I figured if anyone ever pushed
Monica, it would be Ed.

- Thank you for the vote of confidence.
- Fight! Fight! There's a fight, man!

Let's go check it out!

Hey! Hey! Break it up!

Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Break it up!
Break it up, guys! Break it up!

You wanna throw? Let's throw.

Did you hear about Monica?
No. What?

- Flew off the roof last night.
Landed over at the Wynn.
- Security, help me out here.

Crashed right into the Manolo Blahnik
one-day sample sale.

You're kidding!
That was yesterday?

Check 'em out.
Aren't they delicious?

- They're fabulous.
- He called me a Spaniard.

- Yeah? How is that an insult?
- Sticks and stones, compadre.

And you! You're lucky I don't
press charges against you for assault.

So it goes without saying you're
no longer welcome here at the Montecito.

I don't wanna see your faces here again!
Get 'em out of here!

Let's go.

Come on.

You're saying the wind just carried
Monica Mancuso off the roof?

There's a good 10 feet between us.
There isn't any way I could've pushed her.

From that particular angle.
From any angle.

That is the only angle
picked up by surveillance.

Tell me, Mr. McCoy, what was your
argument with Miss Mancuso about?

Hey. Hey, hey.
Who the hell are you?

Where do you come off
askin' questions like that?

- Danny, who's the newbie here?
- I'm Detective Jim Sarnat with Metro.

Casey Manning. How you doin'?

And I am new
to the department, yes.
Well, of course you are.

'Cause if you weren't, you wouldn't
be questioning this kid.

He's a local, he's a war hero,
has no criminal record,

and he has a fan base that
goes deep into your department
as well as the D.A.'s office.

- Ed, you don't have to get-
- Shut up.

If he tells you he did not throw
Miss Mancuso off that roof,

and the surveillance tapes
tell you the same thing,

the D.A. is not gonna pursue this.

So now there's no reason for you and me
to have any discussion whatsoever, is there?

Well, I'll check that out.
Good.

Now get the hell out of here.

I'll be in touch, Mr. McCoy.

Oh, hey. Have you talked to anybody
in the Mancuso family?

She doesn't have any.
I talked to her lawyer, Gordon Fisk,

who should be here within the hour.

- He's going to take care of the arrangements.
- Did you talk to Sam yet? About me.

No, not yet. But I will.
I definitely will.

Okay, then I'm just gonna be
hiding out in my room under
an assumed name until you do.

- Oh.
- Yeah.

Casey.
I'm not here.
You didn't see me.

Okay. Ed.
Hey.

- Glad to see you back.
- Hey, uh, what do you got here?

Oh, just some cigars
I found on the casino floor.

I'm gonna toss 'em into
Lost and Found before I leave.

These are, uh-
These are vintage Cubans.

Pre-Castro. They're worth
probably a couple hundred bucks a pop.

- For real?
- Oh, yeah. It's illegal imports, you know.

There's no sense throwing them in the bin,
because the guy'd have to be
out of his mind to claim it.

No, I think Mike's right.
You should probably throw those away.

- I will take care
of this particular problem for you.
- Montecito policy- no stealing.

It's a bitch I don't work
for the Montecito anymore. Oh, no.

All right. I'm outta here.

- Is he gonna be okay?
- Can't say.

I want you to take him to Sunrise.
Nowhere else.

- What happened?
- He got jumped in the stairwell,
got beat up pretty good.

It can't be a random mugging.
They didn't take his wallet, right?

- One of you want to ride along?
- Yeah, I'll go.

I'm- I should go.
He's my friend.

- Well, what am I- a pet frog?
- You're more of his boss, I think.

No, no. Actually
you are more of his boss,

and you got a lot of Mancuso
stuff to take care of,
so I'm gonna go.

I'll go. You check the surveillance
footage. You see who did this.

You deal with the Monica stuff.

You heard me.

Sunrise, this is Unit 44.
We're inbound from the Montecito.

- Victim is male-
- She's gotten a little bossy since I left.

Can you tell me
where the check-in desk is?

It's- It's right behind you.

Oh, sorry about that.
I must've walked right past it.

You know, you don't have to
come up with a reason to talk to me.

I'm not that hard to approach.
Oh, yeah?

That happens to you a lot, huh?
Men think of ridiculous excuses
to talk to you?

Well, I don't want to brag,
but it has happened
on more than one occasion.

I'm Matt.

Delinda.

Well, maybe after I check in
and get settled, I could
buy you a drink, Delinda.

That'd be nice, Matt.

All right.

Oh, man.
How're you feelin'?

Feels like someone hit me
in the head with a two-by-four.

- What happened?
- Somebody hit you in the head
with a two-by-four.

Hey, now that you're up,
the police are gonna want a statement.

Last thing I remember,
I was leaving work.

That's it.
So can you think of anybody
that might want to hurt you?

Mary, it's me- Mike.
Everybody likes Mike.

Not one enemy?

Nope, not one person.

- Hey. Whoa. What are you doing?
- I hate hospitals.

I'll be much happier in my bed,
listening to my iPod.

You're not going anywhere.
You have a concussion.

I will get the iPod,
and you will lie here,
and you will get rest.

- But I don't-
- But nothing.

You're not going anywhere.

Is it just me, or have you
gotten a little bossy?

It's just you.

How's our patient feeling?

- Not so good.
- Oh, I'm sorry.

Hmm. Hey, when you get my iPod,

grab my good pajamas
while you're at it.

Oh, brother.

Thank you.
Let me take a look at you.

- Yeah.
- Hey.

Mmm.

I'm Gordon Fisk,
Monica Mancuso's attorney.
This is Matt Monroe.

How you doing there, Matt?
I'm Ed Deline.

I thought we were meeting
with Danny McCoy.

Well, you were, but, uh,
he's otherwise engaged...

in a little emergency,
so I'll take the meeting for him.

Well, it's very fortuitous that you're here.
Monica's will actually includes you.

What's that?

Well, having no family,
she's left the bulk of her assets,

including the Montecito,
to a charitable foundation.

- A foundation for the blind.
- But there are other items to deal with-

personal requests
that she'd like you to execute,

including the disposal
of her remains.

- Excuse me?
- Is there a problem?

Uh, when was the last time
that she revised her will?

Because, to be honest with you,
we had a little bit of a falling out.

Monica amended her will quite often,
as recently as last week.

Whatever differences
you and she had,

Monica thought that you were the most
honest, straightforward man she'd ever met.

- She had great admiration for you.
- Huh.

Well, there are no cameras in the stairwells,
so we don't have any footage
of Mike getting attacked.

Anybody follow him in there?

Uh, no, no.
And it's gonna take some time to get
through all those levels of the garage...

to see who came in
and out of those stairwells.

You know, I think it'd be faster
if we just reconstruct his last two shifts.

See if he pissed anybody off.
That's a good idea.

So, how's it going with Monica's will?
Anything I should know?

Yeah, a couple of things. For one,
she left everything to a charity.

- What?
- Yeah.

What about Casey Manning?
He's poised for a takeover.

I'm supposed to prepare
Sam for it.

Not the best P.R. move in the world-
I mean, a hostile takeover
on the Foundation for the Blind.

I think you can hold off
upsetting Sam.

So she gave it all to charity, huh? Why?

I don't know. Nobody knows
what's in that woman's head.

Same stuff that apparently
made me executor of this will.

Executor?
Yes, sir.

She hated you.
Yeah, she did.

But she apparently respected me
very much as well.

Yeah, I can see that.

Anyway, now I gotta do
everything in this will.

So, even dead,
she's still bossing me around.

What is this about blind people
getting my hotel?

Hey, get back, back, back, back.

Did Monica leave the Montecito
to the crippled people?

- That's, uh, the blind people.
- Oh.

So let me just be clear about this.
I finally get my hands on J.W.'s black book,

and now I have to convince his clients
to come play at a casino...

that's owned by the handicapped?

Would you rather
Casey Manning owned the place?

Don't be ridiculous.

Is she gone?
You can come out.

It's our new boss.

Michael Cannon, you see what happens when
you leave people out in the cold like that?

Maybe you'll think twice
next time.

- Who are you?
- I'm Mike's friend.

Who are you?

I'm Mike's neighbor.
Is he here?

- No. Actually, he's in the hospital.
- The hospital?

I just- I came by
to get some of his things.

- So she made good on that threat.
- Who did?

The woman who was here
the other night.

They had a big screaming match,
and I had to come up here.

I'm warning you.
Don't mess with me.

Or what?

What'd you do that for?
So I could twist the broken end
in your face!

You are one cold bitch!

Oh.

Yes?

He had blood on his clothes.

Do you happen to remember
the woman's name?

Let's go through
yesterday's footage.
You got it.

Hey, I just heard about Mike.
Is he gonna be okay?

Uh, yeah.
He's got a concussion.

Why didn't you tell me about this
when I was here earlier?

- You left before I could.
- Well, who'd want to hurt Mike?
I mean, everybody loves Mike.

Well, you make enemies
in security, Sam-

throwing out the cheats,
throwing out the drunks-
and sometimes they retaliate.

Yeah, I never really thought
of your job as actually dangerous.

Well, it is.
It can be very dangerous.

And right now we're going through
Mike's last couple of shifts just to see
who he might have pissed off.

I saw him break up a fight earlier today,
and these guys didn't seem too happy about it.

- When?
- Around- It must've been 9:00 a.m.

- Right outside Opus.
- About 8:50, camera 47.

Oh, geez.
Can you back that up?

Freeze and push in
on the guy who hit him.

There he is.

Drew Schmidt. And he works
at a gym on Desert Palm Drive.

Can I help you?
Yeah.

You can tell me what you did
after you got kicked out
of the Montecito this morning.

Not that it's anyone's business,
but I run the shift from 11:00 to 6:00.

Ah. So you can prove that
you've been here the whole time?

Why should I?

Because if you can't,
I'm gonna have to call Metro down here...

and have them arrest you
for assault with a deadly weapon.

Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Who the hell are you?

I run the Montecito, and,
uh, that security guard that you hit-

You mean the one who hit me.

Somebody attacked him
in the Montecito parking structure,

and you seem to be
the only one with motive.

Okay, hey, you know what?
I didn't have anything to do with it.
I was here.

A list of all the people who've
checked in since my shift started.

From 11:00 a.m. on.

They'll all tell you I was here
behind this desk the whole time.

Yeah.
Hey, Danny, it's me.

Aren't you still at the hospital?
No, I'm at Mike's apartment.
I'm getting his pajamas.

Did you know that Mike
had a girlfriend?

Mike has a girlfriend?
Yeah. Clara.

You're gonna want to talk to her.
Trust me.

Is everything all right, Mr. Cannon?

Oh, yeah. I was just feeling
a little... dizzy.

I got afraid,
so I- I hit the button.

- Hmm.
- I'm secure in saying I'm scared.

I have all sisters,
so I'm in touch with my softer side.

Your eyes are dilating.

- What about you?
You have any sisters or brothers?
- Shh, shh.

Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry.

Well, everything seems fine.
But I can call the doctor if you'd like.

No, no. No reason to bother him.
I'm feeling better already.

Okay.

Um, you need anything else
while I'm here?

Actually, I was wondering if maybe
I could possibly get a sponge bath?

You're only here
for observation, Mr. Cannon.

Was that a no?

So what does your charitable organization
know about running a casino, Mr. Monroe?

Nothing really.
Do you have the time?

Uh, yes. It's a little bit after 4:00.

So I'm thinking
you should sell... to me.

Hey.

See, that way,
everybody comes out ahead.

- Why are you on the floor?
- Um, I dropped something.

Okay. Why are you whispering?

Because we are talking about
a two-billion-dollar transaction.

Oh, so you'd be willing to buy
the Montecito for full market value?

- Of course.
- Casey.

Oh, hey, Delinda.
What are you doing here?

Uh, just talking
to Mr. Monroe here.
Hi, Matt.

What can I get you?

Whatever you're having is fine.
Does Sam know you're here?

No, and please don't tell her.

Beat it,
and I won't say a word.
You're the best.

Mr. Monroe,
think about what I said.

I have your card.

Strange guy.
Yeah.

Normal guys don't seem
to come to Vegas.

Well, Mr. Mancuso,
I wanted to thank you
for coming so quickly.

I'm sorry. And I know
you're a very busy man.

Are you kidding me?
Someone calls and tells me...

my moneygrubbing
slut of a stepmother is dead,

I'm the first one here
to celebrate.

Oh, nice.
My office is over here.

Of course I know Mike.
You met here at the Montecito?

No, actually we met
at the Walden Playhouse.

Mike and I do dinner theater there.

Mike does dinner theater?

I'm sorry.
I'm sure you mean well,

but if Mike wants to apologize to me,
he should do it himself.

I'm sure that he would
if he weren't in the hospital
with a concussion.

What?
Yeah. Uh, he was attacked
in a parking structure,

and your name came up as somebody
who might have an ax to grind.

Well, I'm mad at him, sure.
I left him an angry message.

But missing opening night
is hardly a reason to hurt the man.
Opening night? What do you mean?

He said surveillance was short-handed
so he had to pull a double shift.

Well, we didn't have an understudy,
so we had to cancel.

And that's why you guys
got in a fight at his apartment?

We were doing a scene from
A Streetcar Named Desire.

So how did he get
the bloody nose?

That was from the fight.
During the basketball game.

So why would Monica,
a fairly selfish woman,

leave her entire estate
to the Foundation for the Blind?

Her mother was blind.

So there really was no one
to teach her how to dress.
That's so sad.

I- I can't tell
if you're joking or not.

I'm not. So, listen, is it weird
sitting here with me...

and not knowing what I look like?

I have a sense of you.

Yeah, but, I mean, I could be
blonde or brunette.

I could be thin or fat.
You have absolutely no idea.

Isn't it nice to be liked for something
other than your looks, Delinda?

So you're saying you like me?

I'm a good judge of people.

Hmm. Maybe you want
to feel my face.

Like- Like in the movies?

Yeah. Why not?
All right.

Um-
You're very tall.

I'm finally gonna get
what's rightfully mine.

You know, that bitch
stole my entire inheritance.

I understand that those
were your father's final wishes.

Well, Dad wasn't thinking with
his big head, if you know what I mean.

She completely took advantage.

Well, as I mentioned on the phone,
you are in Monica's will.

Well, good.
She finally came to her senses.
Better late than never.

Right. Well, uh,
this would be the first thing.

What's this?
This would be an envelope.

Probably a letter...
explaining things.

Where's the rest of it?

What's that?
Ashes.

That's what the bitch left me?
Her friggin' ashes!

Oh, uh, that was your father.
Monica thought you'd want him back.

Damn!

Yeah! Oh!

Nice game. Nice game.
Yeah, you kicked my ass.

Next!
Hey, how come I never seen you
out here before, man?

This guy Mike Cannon told me about
your game. I thought I'd check it out.

- You know Cannon?
- I met him.

Is he any good?
Yeah. Sometimes.

Yeah, I thought I might see him here.
I guess he didn't show up.

He's probably hiding.
Why is that?

He took quite a beating
the other day.
From you?

No. No, not me. I mean,
I was guarding him, but, uh-

- Keep it outside, man!
- Shoot it up! Shoot it up!

He went to go get the ball,
and he smashed his nose into a pole.

So he gave himself a bloody nose.

Yeah. Humiliating, huh?

Doctor said it was probably a crowbar.

Yeah. Luckily the Cannon men
all have very dense skulls.

- Your job is so dangerous.
- Ah, it's the risk you take.

So you didn't even see
the guy coming at you?

Good chance there was more than one.
Oh, yeah.

But... we'll probably never know.

So... I was hoping I could get
a sponge bath while I'm here.

You're not scheduled
for a sponge bath, Mr. Cannon.

It's Mike. Call me Mike.
Both of you.

I think if you're gonna bathe me,
we should be on a first-name basis.
Don't you?

Hey, there.

Delinda. Hi. Can I-
Can I get you a coffee or something?

Oh, I'm actually working,
so I can't really stay.

Oh.
But I saw you over here,
and I just wanted to tell you...

I had fun with you earlier-
I mean, really.

So did I.
Listen, Matt.

I don't want to play the usual games,
so I'm just gonna be honest.

I think there's something between us,
and I was wondering if you feel the same.

Well, th-there's definitely something.

I gotta go, but
maybe we could have dinner.

I know a great little place
on the 21st floor,

Room 2124.

Well, I usually say no twice
before I say yes once, but-

But you're not gonna
play games with me.

Exactly. I'll see you at 9:00.

Yeah. Cool.

I had Mitch go back a full week,
and other than the fight that Mike broke up,

there's nothing in the video
that justifies the attack.

Maybe it was random.
Just some nut.

Yeah, maybe. So, uh, glad
to be done with Monica's will?

Oh, yeah, yeah. I just have
one more loose end to tie up.

Oh, and then there's
the matter of her remains,

which I have absolutely
no idea what to do with.

Now, maybe you have a clue
as to what she might have wanted.

No.

Just the two gentlemen
that I've been looking for.

Casey, uh, I haven't had
a chance to talk to Sam yet,

but maybe...
there's no reason to.

Well, there's a reason now.
You are looking at the new owner
of the Montecito.

What?
The Foundation
for the Blind.

I convinced them that an organization
which survives primarily on donations...

couldn't really afford to own something
so controversial as a Vegas casino.

Good job, boss.
Thank you much.

Congratulations.

Which brings me
to the reason that I'm here.

Ed, as we discussed, I'd like to bring
you back as president of operations.

And I'm giving you a seat
on the board of directors.
Nice.

And, Danny, I'd like to promote you
to head of security...

with a substantial pay increase.

Uh, that's actually
kind of a demotion, Casey.

I was just trying
to sugarcoat that a little.

You know, to be honest, I was much happier
before this whole Monica business anyway.

Nobody runs this place better
than Ed. Everyone knows that.

I'm gonna step back, and you're
gonna make all the decisions, okay?

And, Danny, just don't push me
off the roof, and we'll be fine.

I'll try my best.
All right.

Now all I have to do is, uh-
is go talk to Sam.

That poor boy is dead.
Yeah.

Hello, Sam.
What are you doing here?

Can we talk?
Uh-uh.

- Hey, you.
- Hey.

What's going on?
How's Mike?

Well, he's chasing around
every nurse in the hospital,

so I think it's a pretty good sign
he's gonna be okay.

- Well, there's some good news.
- You still don't know who did this?

No. No. It's just one dead end
after the next.

- This is so weird.
- Yeah. Well, so I guess I should
go down there and tell him.

Actually, uh, they're gonna
release him in a couple hours,

and I was gonna ask you
if you could go pick him up.

I kinda have some plans.
Yeah. Sure. What's going on?

Just personal... plans.

Okay.

You know, Danny, I think
it might be better if I-

You don't even have to say it.
You want your own private life.

- I get it. I get it.
- Thank you.

Yeah.
What's this?

Haven't you heard?
Ed's coming back.
Well, that's great.

I think it's great. Nobody does
this job better than Ed, right?

Danny?

You did good here.
You stepped up,

and you filled some really big shoes,
and people respect you for that.

- You think so?
- I know so.

Well, thank you for saying that.

So, uh, you have fun doing
whatever it is you're doing.

- Oh, I'm still not telling you.
- Come on.

Who is it?

I just want you to know that you're
hardly ever gonna see me around.

Ed will be running
the day-to-day operations,

so there's no reason for you
to have to quit or anything like that.

I knew there was gonna be
a downside to Monica's death.

Come on. You're a little bit
happy to have me here.

Do I look happy?

Sam, you talk such a big game,

but the bottom line is
you haven't divorced me yet.

Well, you haven't divorced
me either. What are you-

I don't want a divorce.
You're the one that
doesn't want to be married.

I just haven't gotten around to it.
I've been very busy. I have a career-
Sammy? Sammy. Sammy.

Why don't we give it another shot?
We could own this place together.

Partners. That'd be fun.

I don't know.

Think about it.

You ever try a Cuban?

Of course. Aren't those the-

Yes. These are the best.
I mean, that they are.

These have probably been
in someone's private stash
for at least five decades.

Yes, wait till you try that.
They are, uh-

What the heck is this?

"022065."

Mike found these
in the casino?

Yeah.

Well, maybe he got his ass kicked
because of these numbers. Come on.

Hey, Mitch.

Pull up the footage of that fight
Mike broke up this morning, will ya?

No problem.

Back it up and play it back
in slow motion.

Okay, now fast-forward
to the end of the fight.

That guy didn't even know
he dropped the case.

He didn't see Mike pick it up.

No, but this guy did.

Yeah.

Huh.
Run a face on this guy.

I should really be getting back
to my other patients.

You're busy. I understand.
Maybe you can send in Holly or Christine?

I really think that someone
in Physical Therapy should be doing this.

I don't want to make anything worse.
No, no, no. It's much better.
I'm feeling much better.

Yeah-What-

Four thousand bucks a day,
a brother should get a rubdown.

I knew you'd be back.

Where is it?

- Where's what?
- My case.

I don't know
what you're talking about.
The cigar case.

You picked it up in the casino.
What did you do with it?

You know, you're not allowed
to have Cuban cig-

Aah! Clearly the case is important to you.
But if you use this knife,

- you pretty much have no chance
of getting it back.
- You still got it?

It hurts, doesn't it?

You tell us what those numbers mean,
and I won't do it again.

Damn. This is very unlike you.
Way more Ed.

Thanks. Ed said that you should just do it
and not just talk about doing it.

Goin' for the surprise. I get it.
Where is Ed, by the way?

He's dealing with Monica's will.
Turn that up a notch, will ya?

Please don't!

This isn't gonna kill him, is it?

It's not enough juice.
Might make him pee though.

Cool. Yeah.

Okay, okay, okay!
I'll tell you.

I'll tell you.
I thought you might.

She died?
Yeah, I'm afraid so.

Oh, my God.

Monica always thought
she would die young and tragically.

Was it tragic?
Oh, yeah. Yeah.

You wanna have a seat
there on the couch?

Excuse me.
Oh.

Thanks.

Monica and me waitressed
together back in Akron.

Oh, um, I thought
she was a stripper.

Oh, that was only at night.

When she met that rich old guy,

nobody was happier for her than me.

Some people was jealous,
but not me.

Well, I mean, she certainly
thought a lot of you.

Uh, she didn't mention
a lot of people in her estate,

but, uh, she sure had
something for you.

Oh?
Oh, yeah.

She wanted me to make sure
that, um, I gave you this.

Oh.

"Dear Norma, you'll probably
be surprised to know...

"that being a billionaire
made me pretty miserable.

"So I hope this
only makes you unhappy.

Monica."

Is-Is this for a million dollars?

Yeah. Sure is.

Well, I'll be screwed
every which way to Sunday!

Uh, Norma?
Yeah?

Since you guys were so close,
I'm having a little bit of a problem.

I thought maybe
you could help me with it.
Yeah.

You see, in her will, she wanted me
to dispose of her ashes,

and, tell you the truth, I'm not sure
what she really wanted, you know?

All I know is she hated funerals.

God, I hate funerals-
pretending to mourn
for someone you despised.

Doesn't that bother you guys?
Not me. I like pretending.

Now that we know that
Monica left it all to charity,

I kinda feel like maybe
she was just misunderstood.

Really? I feel like maybe
she was just a bitch.

Did you guys know
that Casey's here?
Trying to win you back again?

Nah, he's buying the Montecito
from the blind people.
You're kidding!

Mm-mmm.
I sure didn't know he was here.
I've been really busy.

Yeah, with the blind guy.
How's that going?
What blind guy?

Matt Monroe. We had drinks,
and he touched my right one.
Sounds serious.

Yeah, maybe it could be.
Matt's really different. He's so-
Blind?

I was gonna say warm, genuine
and completely-
Without sight?

He can't see?
Not a thing. But that's sort of
what I like about him.

I'm used to dating men
who are obsessed with the physical.

- I think Matt really likes me for my mind.
- Oh. Yeah.

Sweetie, are you okay?

I'm fine. I'm fine.

Sam! What are you doing?

If the elevator's stuck,
we don't have to go
to Monica's funeral.

I'm goin', and you're goin'.
You got it?

You've gotten really bossy.

She has.

Um, I guess it's just us.

Hmm. It's just as well.
It's kind of small in here.

Um, maybe you'd want to say
something before you do that?

Oh.
Hi.

Sorry we're late.
Thanks for coming.

Sure. Will this take long?
I got a date.

Norma here is, uh,
Monica's best friend.

We're just trying to fulfill
her last wish.
Oh.

She would've wanted something simple
but that makes a statement...

about what happens to us
in the afterlife.

Bye, girlfriend.

I guess we're done here.

Bye.
See you around. Bye.

Bye, Dad.
Bye, Norma.

Right.

Holy smokes.

It's a good thing Ed's not here.

Oh.
I'm sorry. Go ahead.

Is this your room?
This is my new boyfriend's room.

They told me
this was my husband's room.

Delinda, I'm so glad you came.

Really?
What about me, Matt?

- Are you glad I came?
- Angela?

I thought you were different.

He's just like all the others.
But blind as a bat.

- I, uh- Uh, let me explain.
- Explain it to my lawyer, you prick!

- Do you wanna go get a drink?
- I'd love to.

Uh-

These are good.
Yeah.

Vintage Cubano.
Ah.

- Illegal?
- Oh, yeah.

So, I told Sam that
I bought the Montecito.

How'd she take it?

Well, she didn't quit.
Well, that's good.

'Cause since she got that
J.W. McKeller's black book,

she is the hottest casino host in town.

So we can't afford to lose her.

Actually, I think that she and I
are gonna be getting back together.

Is that right?
Yeah.

- Hi.
- Here.

- What's this?
- Divorce papers. I figured
we'd get it out of the way.

- You're serious?
- I already signed. It's your turn.

Excuse me. Um, I'm gonna
leave you two alone.

Hmm?

You're making a big mistake.

The big mistake I made
was marrying you in the first place.

- If that's the way you feel about it-
- That's exactly how I feel about it.

You're a free woman.

Congratulations.
Thank you.

Half of everything that own is mine,
but all I want is half of the Montecito.

- What?
- You wanted to be partners, right?

- Yeah.
- Now we're partners.

Keep the pen.

Ow.
