Good morning, Chompy.

Come, Chompy. Are you ready for milk?

[chuckles]

Look at him go, Iz.

[Izzy] He's drinking so well.

Oh, can you remember how he used to be?

Yes.

He loved eating leaf,
but he wouldn't drink his milk.

He loves his milk now, doesn't he?

[Izzy] Yeah.

[chuckles] Oh!

You got a milk mustache, Chompy.

-[Ali] Look at the size of these claws.
-[Izzy] I know.

He'll be ready to climb soon.

At Chompy's age,

babies learn from their mums
how to climb and get their own leaf.

[Ali] And when they get a little bigger,

they have to be able to climb trees

and go and find their own food.

All of those skills are what Mum
would normally teach them.

[Izzy] Since I'm Chompy's mum now,

I need to teach Chompy
how to be able to climb

and find his own leaf.

-I think that's a great plan.
-Let's go!

[Izzy] Okay, Chompy.

How about we start you off
on something a little bit easy?

Let's see if you can get to your leaf
through this obstacle course

without getting distracted.

You can do it, Chompy.

Come on, Chompy.

You can do this.

Come on.

Come get it.

Come on.

Just follow my voice, and you'll get here.

Come on.

You're so close.

Come on.

Don't get distracted.

That's not your leaf.

[chuckles] Oh, you can smell that leaf.

Come on, just a little further.

Good job, Chompy.

[upbeat music plays]

Snack time!

Chompy's living up to his name.

He is very happy eating his leaf.

Now I can move you on
to something a bit tougher.

Let's see if you can climb.

I'll be right back.

I'm off to find
the perfect tree fork for Chompy

so he can practice climbing.

Whoa. [chuckles]

I really want a branch like that one,
where it's like a Y-shape,

because then Chompy can climb up
and then sit in the little tree fork.

So, I'll see if there's
any branches around here.

This one is too big

and it doesn't really have
any big fork, so...

This one's a little too small.

This is perfect
and it has a little seat here.

Let's get this home to Chompy.

[upbeat music plays]

I'm breaking up some eucalyptus leaves,

and I'm rubbing it all over the tree.

I think that'll help him
want to climb up the tree.

Chompy loves his leaf.

[inhales]

Smells like fresh eucalyptus.

I think it's ready for Chompy.

This will keep Chompy nice and safe,
just in case he has trouble climbing.

Perfect.

I got you a tree.

I'm gonna teach you how to climb
so that you can get your own leaf, Chompy.

You can do this.

There's fresh leaf
at the top of the tree, Chompy.

Chompy, are you scared?

How about we start you off
on something a little bit easier?

Okay, Chompy.

Let's try something easier
for you to grip onto.

You have to be able to climb
from the bottom

all the way up to the top here,

and then you can try climbing
the tree fork.

Now, come get your leaf.

Three, two, one, go, Chompy.

Come on! You can do this, Chompy.

Koalas live in trees.

Every little baby learns how to do this.

You don't need to be scared.

I know it seems high, but trust me,

once you get up there,
it's not really that big.

I know it might be a little scary.
That's what I'm here for.

Where are you off to?

Chompy, come back.

Chompy, don't be scared.

Aw!

Chompy, you have to learn how to do this.

I have an idea.

I want you to meet
some of our other koalas.

In the wild, Chompy would still be
learning from his mum.

So, he needs some other koalas
to learn from.

Chompy, this is Mango.

Mango was blind when she came in.

She can barely see anything
except for shadows.

She was really scared.

She still learned how to climb
and find her own leaf.

So, if Mango can do it,
I think you will too.

Chompy, this is Miss Piggy.

Miss Piggy was really feisty
when she first came in

because she was so scared,

but now she's not scared at all.

Aw, she's trying to feed Chompy.

[chuckles] Aw, thanks, Miss Piggy.
Chompy, say thank you.

[chuckles] Aw, that's so cute.

Okay.

Now, let's go check out StormBoy
in his enclosure.

Hey, StormBoy.

[thunder rumbling]

When StormBoy first came in,

he was so sick and really scared.

But because he was brave,
he's much better now.

[birds chirping]

Chompy, one day you're gonna grow
as big as StormBoy

and climb just as well.

We'll get you there.

All right, Chompy.
Let's try climbing again.

Don't be scared.

I'll climb with you.

I'm climbing the tree. Look.

Good boy!

Good job!

Good job, Chompy.

That's it!

I'm really proud of you.

[bell rings]

Your breath stinks.

[Izzy laughs]

Now that you climbed the practice tree,

I think you're brave enough
to try climbing the real tree fork.

Chompy, you can do this. I believe in you.

You have to be able to climb
to get your own leaf.

Good boy, Chompy.

That's it!

Go, Chompy!

Good boy.

I'm so proud of you, Chompy.

See, Chompy?

New things can be scary,

but you've been really brave.
Now you just need to get a little bigger

before you're ready
to move in to your enclosure outside.

But I have faith in you
because you keep eating so much.

Until then,
I love having you as my roommate.

In this episode, you saw me
and my family helping wild animals.

If you see an animal
that you think might be sick or injured,

don't approach it, tell an adult,

and ask them to call
a trained professional.
