Keep eating, Leia.
You need to get bigger before
we can release you back into the wild.
I'm gonna be really sad when you're ready
to leave here.
But I know you belong in the wild
with the other koalas.
[pop]
[Izzy] Leia was rescued
just over a year ago.
I was the first person to hold her.
She was without a mum,
so we had to feed her milk,
and she would not stop eating.
[laughs]
Leia's really grown since she came in,
so she's almost strong enough
to go back into the wild.
I will miss her,
because Leia's one of my best friends.
What you doin'?
-[sneezes]
-Oh, bless you.
[sneezes]
You okay, Leia?
You don't sound very well.
I don't like this, Leia.
-[sneezes]
-You're all sneezing and sniffly.
Let's go talk to Mum.
Mum should know what's going on.
[birds squawking]
I'm worried about you, Leia.
-Hey, Iz.
-Hi, Mum!
How's Leia doin' today?

I think we might maybe need
to get her checked up a little bit.
I think that's a really good plan.
But first,
I have to give StormBoy his medication.
You gonna hop in the tree?

Hello, StormBoy.
[thunder crashing]
Here's your medication, StormBoy.
StormBoy has got a fungal infection
in his chest. A really nasty infection.
That's what this medicine's for.
He has to get better
before he goes back into the wild.

when you have the sniffles.
You look okay, but we don't know
what's going on in the inside of you.
Mum and I are gonna take you to the vet.
We'll make sure you feel all better.
And I'll be there.
I really hope you don't have the same
infection as StormBoy, Leia.
With StormBoy, when he started sniffing,
he got worse and worse.
So, we need to take Leia
to our vet clinic, where I work.
I just want to make sure
there's nothing serious going on with it.

-You're safe.
-[car door closes]
[Izzy] Since we live on an island,
we have to take a boat to Mum's clinic.
But don't worry,
I'll be with you the whole way.
[boat horn blares]
[Izzy laughs]
Mum, she's asleep.
[Ali] Is she? That's good.
[hisses]
-[Izzy] We're at the vet, Leia.
-[Leia sneezes]
Bless you. I'm worried about you, Leia.
We'll get you all checked out.

-[Ali] You gonna come walkabout?
-[Izzy] Leia's probably thinking,
"I want to sleep. I want to climb a tree.
Get me back to the island, please."
-[Ali] Come on.

-[sneezes]

-Good girl!
-[Ali] Right.

Let's listen to her heart.
[rapid heartbeat]
Her heart's going quite fast,
so she's a little bit scared.

Have you chilled out a bit now, Miss?
I need to have a look at her ears.
[Izzy] Should I get the ear thingy?
[Ali] Yep, that would be a great help.

Look to see if she's got any earache.
I see some brown dots.
[Ali] Oh, she's got some earwax.
Princess Leia,
you have not been washing your ears.
Dear me.
[Izzy] Her little buns.
[Ali] So, she looks great.
But let's keep checking.
So, we need to take a little blood sample
because we need to find out
if she's got a really nasty infection.
[Izzy] Yeah, like StormBoy.
[clippers buzzing]
[Ali] So, those are the little clippers.
Good girl!
-Okay.
-[Izzy] Good girl, Leia.
I think Leia is feeling a bit nervous,
but she's a very strong koala.
[Ali] It just goes to show
how much Leia trusts you.
She wouldn't let anybody hold her
like that for a blood test. Good girl.
[Izzy] Good girl.
[Ali] We'll send that blood off
to the laboratory.
I got a special color bandage.
Green's Leia's favorite color.
It will go well with her fur. [laughs]
-[pop]
-I really hope those blood tests
come back saying you don't have
this infection, Leia.
I'm making a little love heart
because she's been such a good patient.
Leia, you've done such a good job
that you earned a heart.
You're a brave koala.
You hungry, Leia?
I'll get you some fresh leaf with my dad.
[Ali] The laboratory will be able
to tell us if she's sick.
[Izzy] Move your bum.
[Ali] All right, Miss Leia.
Let's get you home, lovely.

to mostly every other animal.

Leia had a huge day at the vet.
So you deserve a lot of leaf.
[grunts]
You did so good today.

-How's she goin'?
-Good, she's eating really well.
I was a bit worried about her.
Yeah, it's a bit scary waiting
for results to come back.
-But guess what?
-What?
She passed all the tests.
Brilliant.
-Yay!
-She's clear.
I reckon she may just have got
some allergies.
-Like hay fever?
-Yeah.
-But she's good.
-Just a little more weight
and she'll be able to be released
back into the wild.
-Yeah. Will you miss her?
-Yeah.
You sleep well, Leia. [kisses]
Leia, I'm glad you're feeling better.
[snuffles]

that you think might be sick or injured,
don't approach it, tell an adult and
