the most respected police officials

in the islands and the nation,

are to adequately express an idea.

Since words are not
one of my strong points,

I agreed to accept this
invitation today to speak to you

because I honestly feel
these indoctrination periods

for police wives
are very important.

Your husband's second home
should not be a mystery to you.

We think you should
get to know your rival,

your husband's job.

And believe me when I
say we want you on our side,

because there is only one
higher authority than a policeman,

and we all know
who that is, don't we?

[ALL LAUGH]

McGARRETT: It's not gonna be
easy married to a police officer.

and the dangers are unique to this job.

possibility that someone like Fryer

would think that Joey
was on the take from Keoki

and Rodriguez
found out about it.

- You know Joey as well as I do.

the arrests Joey has made?

Yeah. There are a couple of
guys who might wanna get even,

but there doesn't seem
to be any connection

between Joey and Rodriguez.

Somehow, some way,
there's a connection.

There are just too
many coincidences.

I want Chin and Duke to find out
everything they can about Rodriguez

and I want you
to work with Joey.

for the past few weeks.

think about Joey?

They couldn't have wished
for a better cop on this beat.

you were present while Keoki Topo

was conducting said bookmaking
and failed to take action

in accordance with your
position as a police officer.

your suspension,

you were again seen in the company
of Keoki Topo and his associates.

They don't even have
any TV cameras in here.

They didn't expect
anyone to get this far.

Some of you might remember,
Joey Kalima is a pretty fair boxer.

He won the golden gloves in his class,
went on to the Olympics in Canada,

and was Hawaii state
champion for two years.

But today, right
here, gentlemen,

he's fighting for the highest
stakes he's ever fought for.

His job, his career, his future.

But most of all, his honor.

Now, what does honor mean?

To a man of Joey's character,

a man of Joey's background,
religion, education?

Everything.

You cannot strip a man of his honor
on a purely circumstantial charge.

Now, I ask you, please,
to consider this carefully.

issue here is one of justice.

Certainly, there is the law, but
above the law, there is justice.

And if a police officer
cannot expect justice,
