Hawaii Five-O (1968–1980): Season 10, Episode 22 - My Friend, the Enemy - full transcript

When an Arab princess is kidnapped, a reporter appears to be aware of it so McGarrett asks her how she knew. But she refuses to divulge her source. Later her husband is contacted by the kidnappers who demand safe passage for their vessel through his country's waters. Obviously they're drug smugglers but he decides to give in because his wife is pregnant. Later the reporter is attacked by someone who tries to get some pictures she took of the prince.

Princess Amina.

I never heard of a kidnap
plot rumored before the fact.

- What have we got on this, Danno?
- On the plot, nothing.

Your Highness.

Sad news.

Your wife is missing.

I'm in that shot she
took on the dock.

They demand free
passage across our country

for a shipment of trade goods.

Huh. Trade goods, huh?

Excuse me, I must
see the prince.

I... It's very important.

Will you please call
him? I am a friend of his.

My name is Liana Labella.

Do you understand me?

Darling, didn't she
look terribly old?

Uh-huh.

"Liana Labella."

We've hit the big time.

Today Hawaii,
tomorrow the world.

Paris Match, London
News, El Mundo.

Mm.

- It's marvelous.
- Eleanor, please, just ready.

Okay.

Now smile, Eleanor.

Come on, come on.

No, a little bit more sweet.

You're in love with him. He
just bought you a boat, come on.

Come on, look at her.

Okay.

Ah, that's terrific. Sexy, sexy.

Come on.

Terrific. Ha-ha-ha.

Very good.

No, no, captain,
you don't understand.

It's not I who am to be
the victim of the kidnap.

It's Princess Amina,
or Prince Rashid.

Say, lady, where
did you get this story?

That's of no matter now.

The most important thing
is that you take precaution

that nothing will
happen to the princess.

And when you talk to the prince,
please, you make sure to tell him

that I gave you the information.

Liana Labella.

You say you're a
newspaper reporter?

You mean you've never
heard of Liana Labella?

It is indeed an island.

You're sure you're
not just cooking this up

in order to get
yourself a byline?

Liana Labella does not
need to make up stories

in order to get her
name published.

If you will forgive me, signore,
that was a very stupid remark.

Hey, Danno.

Steve, how was the
police chief's conference?

What would you say if I told you
that four of their rooms were ripped off

while Ed Davis was
making the keynote speech?

Whew. I'd say that was
a thief with chutzpah.

Speaking of that,
take a look at this.

I never heard of a kidnap
plot rumored before the fact.

- What have we got on this, Danno?
- On the plot, nothing.

On the rumor, I guess
it was a slow news day.

The editor picked
it out of a column.

What are they running? A
newspaper or a rumor mill?

When I asked, Trask
gave me a runaround

about the freedom of the press.

Yeah, as long as
they sell newspapers.

What about this, uh, Liana
Labella? What do we know about her?

She's not a local
reporter, is she?

No, but, uh, from Princess
Grace to Henry Kissinger,

she covers them all,
complete with pictures.

You know, all the beautiful,
uh, people in the beautiful places.

Now she's gracing our shores.

But, you know, I saw her last
week on The Mike Douglas Show

being interviewed, and
she is something else, Steve.

Danno, let's get back to the facts
before your libido is excited, huh?

Okay, the prince and the
princess are on a world cruise.

Their yacht was due
to arrive this morning.

See what H.P.D. and the
bureau knows about this.

I'll pick up my bags, Danno,
then we'll pay a visit to the prince.

Don't be too long.

Not more than one hour.

Do give my respects to the
governor, and enjoy yourself.

Ali.

Princess Amina?

I'll get that film,
Your Highness.

No, don't bother,
just ignore them.

I don't want to be late for
the governor's garden party.

- Miss Labella?
- Yes?

Steve McGarrett, Hawaii Five-0.

This is my associate,
Dan Williams.

- Are you responsible for this?
- Yes.

It's my story,
it's my exclusive.

Well, exclusive it may
be, but a story, it's not.

- Where did you pick that up?
- Here in Honolulu.

McGARRETT: Who gave it to you?

A very reliable source.

That's a what, not a who.

Always I protect my
sources, Mr. McGarrett.

Otherwise, as you in America
say, "They would dry up."

McGARRETT: This is
not cocktail party chitchat.

This is a threat of a
very serious crime.

Now, didn't it occur to you
to go to the police with it?

But I did.

I go to the police,
they're very polite,

but they think I'm a crank
who's giving false information.

- Who did you go to?
- Um.

- Captain Matsua, H.P.D.
- I see.

Did you make any effort to
check the truth of your story

before you rushed into print?

Well, there was
very little time,

so I thought that to be
forewarned is to be forearmed.

Absolutely right.

I have a feeling that it
would be safer for everyone

if we checked the
source of this story.

No, I told you I cannot.

I mean, this is an unwritten
rule of the journalist.

In any event, I am sure that you

and this handsome young man can
prevent any trouble should it arise.

Now, if you will excuse
me, I'm working on a story.

Good luck, Mr. McGarrett.

Danno.

Take my car and tail her,
tell Duke to pick me up here

and remember that old adage
about mixing business with pleasure.

You know me, Steve.

Yeah, that's exactly
why I mentioned it to you.

McGarrett, Hawaii Five-0. I'd like
to see Prince Al Rashid, please.

Thank you.

From what Miss Labella wrote,

I would have thought
she was an old friend.

"The tongue of a bad friend
cuts more than a knife."

I'm considered to be a divine
ruler, Mr. McGarrett, by my subjects.

But if to forgive is
divine, then I am not.

This woman does not
understand the truth.

There are many
truths, Your Highness.

Ah...

- You're a philosopher.
- Oh, no, no, not at all.

I'm just a police officer
concerned with your safety.

I hope there's no
cause for concern.

In these times, there is
always a cause for concern.

Has there been an accident?

How far up ahead is it?

One kilometer, maybe two.

We'll have to backtrack
and go around.

Is everything ready? It's
about time you arrived.

- I want to get this thing going.
- Good, okay.

There's been an accident, so
we'll have to make a slight detour.

I'm sorry for the
delay, Your Highness.

I hope there were
no serious injuries.

I don't believe so.

This is a side road, Your
Highness, but it will save time.

This isn't the road I thought it
was. I'll double back and check.

Uh, there are tools in the trunk. I
can have this fixed in an instant.

You need help?

Ah, how fortuitous.

If by chance I can't fix the engine,
this gentlemen can give us a push.

Lie on the floor,
there may be trouble.

Ali!

A ruler goes where he
can, not where he wants.

I would wish to be carefree
like any tourist on vacation.

But there are certain
compensations, Your Highness.

Ah, yes.

The average man worries
about the price of oil.

Though I do for
different reasons.

Your Highness.

The governor's reception
at Washington Place

will be at 8:30 this evening.

Uh, His Highness has
consented to address a meeting

of the International
Rotary tomorrow,

and there is also an invitation
to speak at the university.

McGARRETT: I think
you'll be seeing the high...

Omar speaking. Yes, he's
here, just a moment please.

- The call is for you, Mr. McGarrett.
- Oh?

- A Mr. Lukela.
- Oh, thank you, excuse me.

Yes, Duke?

Steve, I've got Danny
on a three-way patch.

Okay, put him on.
Danno, what have you got.

It's what we haven't got
that bothers us, Steve.

Us? What do you mean?

Yeah, Miss Labella.

She saw the Princess Amina

leave the dock in a limousine
just before we arrived.

She should've beaten us to the
Governor's Garden Party easily,

unless she stopped
off somewhere.

Well, hold it a minute,
Danno, I'll check on that.

Uh...

Was there anything on
the princess's schedule

other than the garden party?

No, what has happened?

We don't know yet,
perhaps nothing.

- What limousine service do you use.
- Four Star.

Thank you.

Duke, have Chin call H.P.D.
for any accident reports.

Limousine service
is, uh, Four Star.

I know them, Steve, very
posh and radio equipped.

Could have malfunctioned or
maybe they had an accident.

Could she have been kidnapped?

Um, we know nothing
yet, Your Highness.

Duke, put out an APB.

I want every blue
and white on the street,

and I want extra phone
and monitoring equipment

installed here on this vessel.

- With technicians.
- Yeah.

Order a chopper for me and
tell them to land dockside Pier 7.

On the double, optimum effort.

- Will do.
- Right.

Your Highness, may I
suggest that you stay here

to answer any incoming calls

um, in the event that
she has been kidnapped?

We'll keep you apprised.

This is McGarrett,
come in, Danno.

Steve, we're on the access road

two miles west of the
governor's mansion

with two ladies who were
invited to the garden party.

McGARRETT: Get
anything from them, Danno?

He was wearing wraparound
glasses, tan trousers and an aloha shirt.

But this could describe a
thousand men in Waikiki.

Did he say anything at least?

Yes, when we asked him
how far ahead the accident was,

he said, uh, one
kilometer, maybe two.

We have to say this to
officer Williams, one second.

That limousine could
be hidden in a garage,

or in a patch of jungle or
abandoned very near here.

McGARRETT: Keep
after them, Danno.

See, these two ladies have
just have a very good thing,

uh, to say, because
the man used...

McGARRETT: I've
spotted the limousine.

A quarter of a mile, northeast
of your present location.

On my way, Steve.

- But I really...
- You stay here.

Hold on a second,
you're in my...

Please, be calm. A gag
would be very uncomfortable.

Am I to believe that you are
concerned with my comfort?

As far as possible,
Your Highness.

There'll be no danger for you as
long as your husband cooperates

and we are not interfered with.

It doesn't concern you
that she can see my face.

When this is over, amico,
you will be lost in the crowd.

Me, I'll be visible. That
went smooth like velvet.

Then how did this
woman find out about us?

As I told you
before, she did not.

If she had, there'd be
headlines around the world.

Look, I'll tell you something, Derek,
I'm in that shot she took on the dock.

If she prints that, people will
see it's not the real chauffeur,

and I will be recognized.

Then it would be in our best
interest if you'd get the picture

before she realizes it's value.

It would.

Preferably without
attracting too much attention.

Your weakness
is beautiful women,

my strength is
self-preservation.

Duke, tell Chin to get us a complete
rundown on the missing driver.

Danno, did you arrange for the
ladies to meet with the police artist?

They're on their way
downtown now, Steve.

Very good.

Miss Labella, forewarned
was not forearmed, was it?

Your rumor didn't
scare them off, did it?

- You're printed rumor.
- You will find them, no?

Hopefully we will, but
it's going to take time.

Uh. I have a deadline to meet.

- If you'll excuse me...
- I'd like to ask you some questions.

Now, that rumor of
yours resulted in a murder.

- Murder?
- Yes, murder.

The princess's bodyguard.

Now, who was your source?

I have told you that I have
a duty to my profession.

I thought you were a journalist
who specialized in revealing things,

not concealing them.

But still, I have an obligation to
those who give me the information.

Just like you do
to your snitches.

What about your obligation
to the kidnapped victim?

Now, either you volunteer the name
and whereabouts of your source,

or I'll get a court order
compelling you too.

I want you to remember
that in this country,

there is freedom for the press.

Yes, that's true.

But in this country,
we also have something

which is called a no shield law.

Which means that any citizen
is required to give information

under these circumstances.

Now, somebody's
life is in danger.

I am not a citizen, I
am a foreign national.

All right, we'll let
the judge decide that.

Danno, take her downtown
as a material witness.

There will be repercussions.

There already are.

Duke, tell Chin to
get a search warrant,

go over her room
with a fine-tooth comb.

I wanna see appointment books,

address books,
everything you can find.

Check.

And, uh, ask H.P.D. to provide
plainclothes security through our guy.

Central, patch me
through to Kelly.

Can you imagine, me,
Liana Labella in the shutter.

You mean the slammer.

He doesn't mean it, does he?

I mean, he's only
trying to intimidate me?

Oh, no. That's
not Steve's style.

His style is to bully.

Well, if you'd cooperate,
you wouldn't have any trouble.

In fact, you might
even find you'd like him.

Ah, you play that game too.

- What game?
- I see it on television.

The tough one and the nice one.
You're supposed to soften me up.

Well, it will not work.

Do I get one telephone call
or is that against the law too?

Well, I'll even
give you the dime.

One nice one.

Your Highness, sad
news, your wife is missing.

We found the limousine
abandoned and your bodyguard dead.

Ali has been with
me for many years.

I wish we were in a
less civilized country

where he could be avenged in
the tradition of an eye for an eye.

We're making the maximum effort
to locate your wife, Your Highness.

Has the Labella woman told
you what she knows of this?

I have a feeling the Labella
woman is not telling all she knows.

Tell her to name her price.

Well, I don't think it's
a question of money.

A strange revenge then.

Revenge? I don't understand.

She was a friend of my wife,
my first wife, Princess Jamilla.

A woman of great
beauty and a great fire.

Unfortunately she was unable
to bear an heir to my kingdom

and therefore we
were fated to live apart.

Liana made me out to look a monster,
casting aside so loving a woman.

And thus became
persona non grata.

Yes.

But I could be magnanimous
if you could persuade her.

I'll try, I shall try.

Oh, is that food?

Welcome with a good food.

Come on. Give me
a special treatment.

Who is she?

I'm also a foreigner, give me
a special treatment, come on.

All right, ladies. Now,
settle down, come on.

Cool it off, you got no complaints.
Back off, now settle down here, now.

You must go to the police and
tell them everything you know.

- No way, I don't wanna get involved.
- You are involved.

You have the information
which might set the princess free.

Look, these guys play rough, I
got a wife and kid to think about,

not to mention my own skin.

- Mr. McGarrett is...
- Is a cop.

I don't want nothing
to do with the cops.

And remember you promised
to keep me out of this.

Wow, terrific.
You're out and I'm in.

I got your word, the
way I see it, you keep it,

you come off like Joan of Arc.

You break it, you
look like a fink.

What's going on here?

What do you think we're
running, a country club?

Complete with room service?

Who allowed this
prisoner special privileges?

Sorry, it won't happen again.

You'd better believe
it won't happen again.

Right on, man.

These accommodations don't
match your usual lifestyle, do they?

You bet, but I'll
vacate tomorrow

when my lawyer makes
you spring me free.

You can vacate right now
if you decide to cooperate.

- That I cannot do.
- Cannot do or will not do?

Okay.

So long, ladies.

- Right.
- Right on, yeah.

Come in.

Hello, Steve.

Brought you a little present.

Why, how nice of you.
See what we have here.

Well, fresh donuts.

You wouldn't try to
bribe a judge, would you?

You're incorruptible,
how could I?

Very tempting,
what are your terms?

I want you to release
Liana Labella on bail.

You're well within the
law on the charge, Steve.

I know, let's, uh,
bend the law a little bit.

I honestly think she's
operating on principle

and not out of stubbornness.

What do you mean?

The circumstances are
unique here, Maggie.

I want to give her a
little room to operate.

To lead you to her source?

You're way ahead
of me, aren't you?

McGarrett.

Hello, operator.
Please, Hawaii Five-0.

Hawaii Five-0.

Never mind, I
tell it to his face.

Steve, limousine's
as clean as a whistle.

Figures.

On the missing
chauffeur, uh, 42 years old,

married, got a couple of
kids, never had any trouble.

Nobody figures
him into this thing.

Did Chin turn up anything
in Miss Labella's room?

Uh, appointment
and address book,

we're checking on everybody
she's seen since she's been here.

This just came up
from the police artist.

Ooh, pretty complete
sketch from the witnesses.

- I'll get it into circulation.
- Good.

- Why do you do this to me?
- Do what to you?

First you put me in jail so I
miss the biggest story of the year.

Then your police search my room
without asking for my permission.

I am going to sue you.

Sue me, routine police
procedure and we had a warrant.

A warrant to run amok?

I mean, to ransack,
to make topsy-turvy?

Would you mind repeating that?

Your men, your men,
they make shambles.

- They turn everything upside down.
- Was anything missing?

You tell me, you admit?

I admit nothing. Five-0
was orderly and meticulous.

Women...

Women, signore, were
God's second mistake.

Do you still deny
that you invaded me?

I beg your pardon.

My room, my room.

I see, maybe the princes'
security men got in the act

or maybe the kidnappers
paid you a visit.

You think to frighten me?

I hope to frighten
you into an awareness

that your life is in danger.

Now, obviously, someone
was looking for something.

What could they have
been searching for?

I don't know. What
were you looking for?

A clue, a clue to your source
and maybe they were too, huh?

Now, you think you're
protecting someone.

You could be setting
them up for a quick death.

- Steve.
- Yeah, Danno.

Mr. Rashid just called.

His ex-wife, the Princess
Jamilla is arriving from Paris.

She's coming in on Flight 5.

He wanted to know if
somebody could pick her up?

You can pick the lady up.

Now, if you'll excuse
us, are you finished?

Why would an ex-wife
fly all the way from Paris?

Maybe they had
a friendly divorce.

Yeah? Did you ever
hear of one, Danno?

No.

You can get out now.

You knew I'm here?

You're not as gallant as I think.
You could have let me ride in comfort.

I also could have put you out.

Yeah, but you did not,

that means you don't think
I'm as bad as McGarrett thinks.

I think you're great. But
what are you doing here?

Well, I wanted to surprise Jamilla.
She and I are very old friends.

Not that old.

Oh, there she is.

Jamilla.

- Liana. Liana.
- Ha-ha-ha.

Oh, I'm surprised.

After all that has happened. After
all that, you still came all the way.

Jamilla, why?

A marriage may end
but the feelings do not.

If I can be of any help.

You're still a
prisoner of the man.

I suppose you could say that,
Liana. I am free and yet not free.

Welcome, princess.

Officer Williams, one second.

We will talk later at the hotel.

- Thank you, Mr. Williams.
- My pleasure.

Ciao, Jamilla.

- Mr. McGarrett.
- Yes?

My former wife,
Princess Jamilla.

Princess.

Oh, forgive my
intrusion on your reunion.

But I have a feeling that you
have not come all this way

just to offer your,
uh, consolation.

- I do not understand.
- Oh.

The kidnappers have made no
move to contact Prince Rashid

through normal channels.

Now, if indeed, we are
operating on an international level

what better emissary than you whom
the prince would trust implicitly. Huh?

- Jamilla.
- He is very astute.

That is my mission, my dear.

To tell you the price
which must be paid.

To whom?

I have no idea who
these people are.

The accent of the voice on
the telephone sounded German,

but it was late and I
had been sleeping.

He said the message
was for your ears only.

Your Highness,

uh, I must insist that you

I am sure we can depend
on Mr. McGarrett's discretion.

Of course.

They demand free
passage across our country,

from the Persian Gulf to Khorimshabar
for a shipment of trade goods.

Trade goods, huh?
Where is Khorimshabar?

Our port on the Arabian Sea.

And then across to
the Indian Ocean?

I'll make the arrangements.

Will you excuse me.

- Excuse me, Your Highness.
- Omar?

You must be aware of what
this shipment consists of.

- Drugs.
- Of course.

A fortune on the open market

but the toll on human
lives beyond measure.

I realize it is a
great responsibility.

We can only hope that
you will find these people

before the drugs are
beyond our domain.

My first concern at
the moment is my wife.

Yes.

Oh, Mr. McGarrett,

my wife Amina is with child.

I have not told
anyone until now.

Hello, everybody. Is
there any mail for me?

It was a small
white dog, a shih tzu.

Now, that will go in
Sunday's paper, is that right?

Thank you.

One sound.

- What do you want?
- The film.

Sì, the film.

Okay, here.

Help, help, help.

Get back, take cover
everybody, he's got a gun.

Call the police.

Has the coroner
pinpointed the time of death?

I see. Thanks,
Chin, I'll tell Steve.

- What's the word on Duke.
- He's okay.

It's a lucky thing he
wears glasses, Steve.

It kept most of the
chemical out of his eyes.

The medic's treated
him right on the spot.

Thank God for that.

The reason the chauffeur is
missing is that he was murdered.

- Pardon?
- Fisherman found the body.

But he was dead before
he went in the water.

- How long before?
- Before they kidnapped her.

So one of the kidnappers was
at the wheel of that limousine.

And Liana Labella may
have gotten a look at him.

Duke.

- Good to see you safe, my friend.
- Good to see.

McGARRETT: Are the eyes okay?

Just a little sore
for a little while.

What about the film Miss
Labella was developing?

Here it is.

Hey, she's a good photographer.

Take a look at that.

So that's what
they've been after.

Yeah, and our lady photographer
almost became a statistic.

Duke, get copies of this in circulation
and one on the wire to Interpol.

Where's Miss Labella now?

I don't know, she
gave me the pictures,

when the medics got through
with me, she was gone.

We've got to find her.
She's in danger, real danger.

Hello.

Hold on. Steve, H.P.D.

Yeah, McGarrett.

Well, what did he say?

Did you try to trace the call?

Okay, I see.

All right, thank you.

The kidnappers
called Prince Rashid.

They demanded an
immediate yes or no

about the drug shipment
crossing his country.

- And Rashid gave in?
- Yeah.

"What could he do," he said.

He wanted his
princess back alive.

Pete.

Pete, come here.

Pete, I've been looking for you.

Pete, you must
go to Mr. McGarrett

and tell him everything
you know, everything.

If I do that, I lose my job. I could
end up in the slammer myself.

I just sold you a news tip, I didn't
know it was gonna end like this.

Pete, these people have
killed, they may do it again.

I could be their next target
if I go to Mr. McGarrett.

Pete, please, think
of what I said. Please?

Listen, Pete,

I'm gonna be in Princess
Jamilla's bungalow.

If you change
your mind, call me.

They started, huh?
Okay, thank you.

Well, the drugs are on the move.
Ever think we'd come to this?

We've still got some time.

- Have you heard from Miss Labella?
- Not yet, Steve.

McGarrett.

There's a Pete
Kalua on the line.

He says it's about
the kidnapping.

Okay, put him on
speaker, just a second.

This is McGarrett, who is this?

This is Pete Kalua,

I'm with room service over
at the Garden Court Hotel.

On May 7th, there were two
men registered in room 607.

They were there for two days
and then they checked out.

By accident I overheard them
talking about a kidnapping.

A kidnapping? Can
you describe the men?

Yeah, they were two haole
guys, one's name is Derek Franklin

and the other guy's
name is Robert Paul.

They're about 6 feet tall,
running about 175, 180 pounds.

They had talked kind of
funny like British accent

or Australian accent.

Sounds like Miss
Labella's source.

I'll check with the
hotel car rental agency.

Yeah, yeah, go ahead, Pete.

We're having a little technical
problem here, go ahead.

Did you give this
information to Miss Labella?

No, I didn't give her
the names or description.

I see, do you know
where she is now?

I think she's with
the Princess Jamilla.

All right, Pete, now listen carefully,
don't talk to anyone about this.

- No one, do you understand?
- Yes, sir.

Okay, thanks for
the information, Pete.

Steve, Chin's working
on the car rental.

I wonder what
made Kalua call us.

I think our little Italian
paisano came through.

She okay?

Yeah, according to Kalua,
she's with Princess Jamilla.

Alert Duke and put out
an APB on these two thugs.

Right.

Come in, I have
a surprise for you.

Look who's here.

Oh...

Derek, it has been
such a long time.

Seventy-two.

Ah, we'll drink to that.

Oh, so this is my exclusive.
The celebrated former race driver

and the equally celebrated
Jamilla are an item.

More than that.

We will be married.

And you are the first to
know, to our good friend Liana.

To long years of happiness.

The cost of happiness
is sometimes very high.

Oh, I'm so pleased.

Who's that?

Room service.

- Jamilla!
- I wish you had not become involved.

Jamilla, you too, why?

Have you not heard of the
fury of a woman scorned?

Discarded but held in bondage.

So I lived in his houses,
used his accounts,

his servants spied on me.

When he disapproved of anything,

he threatened to cut
me off without a penny.

- Steve.
- Yeah, Danno.

We got a break.

Those guys Kalua told us about
did rent a car at the hotel on May 9th.

- They're still using it.
- Is H.P.D. on it?

- Like a blanket, Chin is with them.
- Good.

Now, if they spot the car,
tell Chin not to pick them up,

- they may lead us to the hideout.
- Right.

- Yeah? SECRETARY:
Duke on line one.

Yeah, Duke, what do you got?

I can't find Liana, Steve.

The Princess Jamilla said, she
never showed up for a lunch date.

She's not in her room.

What about Pete Kalua?

Well, he delivered the
order to Jamilla's room

but never reported back to
his station. Looks like he split.

Okay, Duke, stay there.

Danno, let's go.

- Where are you taking us?
- Never mind, keep moving.

Okay, hold up.

Central, patch me
through to Williams, please.

- Central to Williams, Lukela calling.
- Yes, Duke.

Liana and Kalua were forced into a
van at the hotel by the Princess Jamilla.

By Princess Jamilla?

Right, she was with a man.

They're headed west, and I don't
think I can catch up with them.

It's a red van with white racing
stripes, license number, 542-545.

Good, Duke.

Chopper to McGarrett.

We just picked up a red
van heading out on Kapiluani,

traveling at about 40 miles per
hour, can't make out his plates.

That's only a block and a
half from here, Danno, hang on.

This is Central, Kelly
calling McGarrett.

Kelly calling McGarrett.

- Yeah, go ahead.
- Go ahead, Chin.

We spotted the car outside
a house in Mauna Loa.

Turned out to be the hideout.
Princess Amina is okay.

Good work, Chin.

My God, there it is,
there's the red van, hang on.

- What's wrong?
- We're being followed, hang on.

I think it's the police.

I'm gonna try to get this thing
moving faster. They're gaining on us.

- Can we make it?
- Just hang on.

Derek, I wish I'd not let
you involve me in this.

All right, hold it.

Out, out.

Up against there, come on.

Friend, I would use
that word very carefully.

- How did you know where to find us?
- Never reveal a source.

This is McGarrett, patch
me through to the royal yacht,

at Pier 7, please,
on the double.

Will do.

You know Italian.

I grew up with Italians, I
still make the best lasagna

and cacciatore in Hawaii.

All the things I've said to you, I'm
sorry, I think I behaved like an idiot.

I never argue with a lady.

Uh, shall we discuss it
over dinner at my place?

I'm desolate, but tonight I
promised that to friend Danny.

Oh?

McGarrett, come in.

Uh, may I speak to
his highness, please?

Have you ever heard
of the old Navy maxim:

"Rank hath its privileges"?

Stand by for Prince Rashid.

Uh, Prince Rashid please. - Yes?

Your Highness, this is
McGarrett, your wife is safe.

Now, may I suggest that
you stop that drug shipment,

as soon as possible?

- You caught them?
- Yes.

- My wife is well?
- Yes, I assure you she's fine.

In fact, all of the
ladies are fine.

Now, you wouldn't pull rank
on your men, would you?

Oh, no. Only when
it's in his best interest.
