H2O: Just Add Water (2006–2010): Season 2, Episode 13 - Moonwalker - full transcript

Cleo's father decides to take his daughters camping on Mako island during a Full Moon. Cleo invites Rikki and Emma along and Lewis invites himself. Charlotte discovers the plans and decides to tag along as well. Kim wakes Cleo to tell her that Charlotte and Lewis are gone and she becomes affected by the moon and goes to the moon pool. When Rikki and Emma find out that Cleo is gone, they too become affected and head to the moon pool. Charlotte attempts to find them and discovers the moon pool herself just as the moon passes overhead. She almost touches the water while it is bubbling but Emma uses her power to freeze the water.

[sniffing]

Ugh. What is that smell?

Sleeping bag. [chuckles]

It's dusty, alright.

Why have you got that out?

Dad, it's disgusting.

What's that stain?

[sniffs]

Tinned spaghetti, I think.

From a mountain trek in 1998.

Dad, what's going on?

You used to love it
when the family went camping.

No, Dad. You used to love it.
We put up with it.

Mosquitoes, freezing nights,
tinned spaghetti.

The whole family
loved their camping holidays.

About time we took another one.

Well, count me out.

-Me, too.
-Well, we're all going.

And we're gonna have
a fantastic time there.

[sighs] Where?

Mako Island.

Sleeping outside and it's a full Moon.
How am I gonna get out of this?

-Fake being sick?
-He won't fall for that now.

He'll say the fresh air will do me good.

I am all ready for the full Moon lockdown.

I've taken the liberty of buying you guys
some new sunglasses, extra dark.

Mm-hmm. And some extra-wide duct tape
for your windows.

Lewis, forget it.

Cleo's going camping on Mako
with her family.

What? You're kidding.

It's hard enough
keeping you shielded at home,

but out in the open?

I don't have a choice, Lewis.

There is no way you can be out there.

Yes, there is. If we go, too.
We can look out for each other.

Very bad idea.
You girls lose it big-time in a full Moon.

At least here,
I can guarantee I can look after you.

Lewis, we're big girls.

Count me in.

Really? Thanks, guys.

Well, the idea
was that this was a family trip.

Emma and Rikki are just like my sisters.

They can have you.

[Don] You'll have to run it
by your parents.

-Already done it, Mr. Sertori.
-Me, too.

-What about camping gear?
-We've got sleeping bags.

The girls can share a tent with me.

I guess it'll be alright, then.

-[door opens]
-[Lewis] Knock, knock!

-Hello, Mr. Sertori.
-What's all this, Lewis?

This?

This is the SRX 500 heavy duty
insulated survival tent.

I think the girls will appreciate
its special double lining.

Uh, and that's my sleeping bag.

Hold on a minute.

Nobody said anything about you coming.
Where's everyone gonna sleep?

Uh, Cleo, Emma and Rikki
are in the SRX 500.

I'll share with you. That's us there.

And Kim can have hers to herself.

Suits me.

I don't know if there's room in my boat.

I can take my own.

I guess.

What are you doing?

You guys need me.

I'm-I'm really sorry,
but I can't make the movie tonight.

That's okay. We can go another time.

Yeah, sure.

Uh, what's the reason?

Prior engagement.

-With who?
-Prior friends.

Cleo.

It's a camping trip.
It's an old family tradition.

And I always help the Sertoris out.

They need my knowledge of the outdoors.
Believe me, they do.

Camping where?

Mako Island.

Hm, sounds romantic.

Yeah.

I mean, no.
No, it's... It's nothing like that.

It's gonna be cold, and damp,
and there'll be lots of bugs. Ugh.

I wouldn't go near the place if I hadn't
promised to help them out months ago.

It's alright, Lewis.

It is?

Yeah, of course.
You have to keep your promises.

Absolutely. Yes, I do.

Just like you promised
you'd go out with me tonight.

[birds twittering]

You really think we're gonna be okay?

[Emma] Sure, we will.

[Rikki] Yeah, it's gonna be great.

[monkeys screeching]

Oh. Hi, guys.

Uh, hope you don't mind.

Charlotte really wanted to join us.

What is she doing here?

I... [coughs]

I promised her we would go out tonight.

She was getting suspicious.

Suspicious? It's a full Moon.

Yeah, I warned you not to come.

But I want you to know
that I am here for you guys, not her.

Lewis, can we get a hand over here?

-[Cleo sighs]
-There in a second.

-Lewis!
-Coming.

[sighs] She's got him wrapped
around her little finger.

It's a wonder
he hasn't put her in our tent.

Don't worry, Cleo.
She'll probably have an awful time.

Actually, I think that can be arranged.

-I'll gather some wood for the fire, Dad.
-[inhales] Okay.

-Don't stray too far from the camp.
-You're not in charge.

Well, there are some wild things
out there.

Sure, there are.

Should we tell her, Rikki?

Um, not sure she's old enough to cope.

Come on, tell me.

Used to be an old hermit lived
on this island.

-What do you mean "used to be"?
-Well, every now and then, he's spotted.

Whenever there's a full Moon.

Like tonight.

People say he eats raw flesh.

Yeah, right. What people?

The ones who make it back alive.

The others, well, who knows?

I just wouldn't be wandering around alone
if I were you.

Come on, Kim. I'll help you.

[stream burbling]

Did you hear that story Cleo told?

[scoffs] Don't believe a word of it, Kim.
We're totally safe here.

[mimics wolf howling]

What was that?

-[wind roaring]
-Oh! Ugh!

-Oh!
-Where'd that come from?

[pants] I think it might be
a good time to go back.

Okay.

Believe me, Kim,
there's nothing dangerous out there.

These noises weren't natural.

Some possums can be pretty loud
when they're feeding.

It wasn't a hungry possum.

Well, then it could have been any of
a hundred other perfectly normal things.

Relax, it's only me.

Disappointing as always.

Do me a favour and, uh,
and leave Charlotte alone.

-I know you're trying to freak her out.
-Aw.

Looking out for the girlfriend, are we?

No. I'm looking out for you guys. Here.

-What's this?
-Sunglasses.

-I can't see out of these.
-That's the point.

What use are earplugs
against the full Moon?

Actually, that was my idea.
In case any of us snore.

The three of you need to stay in here
with the door zipped all night.

Why don't you just stake us to the ground?

Ah, the thought
had crossed my mind. [laughs]

-But I'm sure I can trust you guys.
-Good night, Lewis.

Sweet dreams.

-[tent zipping]
-Well...

-I guess it's just us here.
-Yeah.

[Cleo] The full Moon isn't even up
and I'm already scared.

Me, too. Rikki?

Everything will be fine here.

[owl hooting]

[Don snoring]

[owl hooting]

[snoring]

[tent unzipping]

Charlotte. What's up?

Can't sleep. Must be the Moon.

-[Don snoring]
-Thought I might go for a walk.

-After what happened?
-I'd have you to protect me, wouldn't I?

I really think I should try
and get some sleep.

[Don snoring]

Maybe a little walk.

[owl hooting]

[Kim] Psst. Cleo.

-Cleo. Wake up!
-[Cleo groaning]

Can I stay in your tent?

Does it look
like there's enough room here?

Go back to your tent.

I don't like it. I'm all alone.

-Charlotte's gone, and--
-Wait, Charlotte's gone?

-Gone where?
-I don't know.

I went to tell Dad, but he's out to it.

[sighs] Lewis is gone, too.

-I don't... I don't care.
-Sure, you do.

-What do you think they're getting up to?
-Go to bed.

Cleo?

Cleo, if you're trying
to freak me out or something, forget it.

It's not going to work.

Cleo?

Cleo, come back!

Cleo!

[cicadas chirping]

There's something magical
about this place.

You think so?

I've never noticed.

[laughs]

It's romantic, too.

Now that you mention it...

-[Kim] Lewis!
-[Charlotte groans]

What are you doing?

-Shouldn't you be in bed?
-Cleo's wandered off.

-She's what?
-Yeah.

She went zombie-like. I couldn't stop her.

I think she was trying to scare you, Kim.

-Wasn't she, Lewis?
-Probably.

-Kim, what about the others?
-Still in their tent, I think.

Exactly where you should be.

-Let's get you back.
-I might wait here for a while.

On your own?

Well, I thought you could come back
so that we could finish our discussion.

Discussion?

Oh, yes, yes. No, I'll be back soon.

Rikki!

-What?
-Cleo's missing!

-What?
-Cleo's gone!

-Stay in your tent.
-Cleo's gonna pay big-time for this.

Guys, I'm coming in. Close your eyes.

You were looking after each other.

And where exactly were you
when she wandered off?

I was with Charlotte. We were just--
We were looking at the stars.

-Spare us the details, Lewis.
-[Emma] Cleo could be anywhere now.

-[Emma] I'm going after her.
-No way.

We've been scared of the full Moon
too long. It's time we faced it.

Are you crazy?

Well, the last thing I need
is three moonstruck mermaids

wandering around out there.

Tell her, Rikki.

She's right.
We can't live in fear forever.

We'll be safe at the Moon Pool.
We'll take Cleo there.

What if you can't fight it?
What happens then?

Let's do it.

This is madness.

Guys?

[sighs] Great.

So much for that plan.
Back in the tent, ladies.

Look after your girlfriend, Lewis.

[leaves rustling]

Lewis, is that you?

Oh, Cleo. What do you think you're doing?

You know, trying to scare
your little sister is really pathetic.

This stupid game is not gonna work.

It's all because of Lewis and me,
isn't it?

Cleo?

Cleo, I'm talking to you!

[thunder rumbling]

[screams, grunts]

[Charlotte panting]

[screams]

-Oh, Lewis!
-Charlotte. You okay?

There was this huge bolt of lightning.
It nearly hit me.

-Really? Wow, I didn't hear anything.
-You must have.

Cleo was there as well.
She was acting weird.

-Where did she go?
-I don't know.

Okay, um... I think the best thing
is to get you back to your tent.

-Cleo will probably be there already.
-Something strange is happening.

-[Charlotte panting]
-[branch snapping]

What was that?

-Nothing.
-You must have heard something.

[breathing heavily] Um...

Ooh, I'll go and investigate.

No, no, wait. Lewis!

[sighs]

Can we get a grip here, guys?
Your little plan isn't working.

Come back to the tent. Let me find Cleo.

Stay away from us.
We know what we're doing.

You sure about that, huh?
Because last time...

The water calls.

The water...

That's good.

Enjoy your swim.

Cleo?

Cleo.

Cleo?

Where are you?

[screams]

[water dripping, trickling]

[gasps]

[pants] Cleo?

Oh, no.

Charlotte?

What are you doing here?

-Charlotte!
-This water just glowed.

Then it froze over.

What's going on here?

You still don't believe me, do you?

Some things appear strange at night
but are really pretty normal.

And, Charlotte, you could've bumped
your head when you fell down.

-[tent unzips]
-Morning, everyone.

What a fantastic night's sleep, eh?

Must be that fresh sea air.

I'm hungry.

Ah, there's plenty
of tinned spaghetti left.

I didn't hear you get up, Lewis.

Because your snoring drowned out
everything within a kilometre radius.

-Where are the girls?
-That's a good question.

Don't tell me they're still sleeping in.

Wake up, sleepy heads.

What's been going on?

-That's exactly what I'd like to know.
-[Don] Lewis?

Good morning, everyone.

Anyone for a cooked breakfast?

About time.

Don't mind if I do.

Well done, girls.

Fresh fish.

Nice!

-How did you manage to do this?
-It's my specialty.

We faced the powers of the full Moon,
and we beat it.

It will never be the same again.

Okay, I admit, you guys beat the full Moon
without my help.

No, Lewis.
We beat the full Moon despite your help.

[Lewis] Alright.

It took real guts to go out there
not knowing what could happen,

and I admire that.

That's more like it.

There is one thing that still bothers me.

Charlotte touched the ice
exactly when the Moon Pool was active.

Right. What if she got mermaid powers?

Pretty easy to find out.

Okay. But let me sort this out.

Hi, Lewis. [shrieks]

[coughs]

Lewis!

[coughing]

[Lewis] Sorry, um...

-Accident. It went down the wrong way.
-I can't believe you just did that.

Smooth operator.

[sighs] Don't you start
acting weird, too, Lewis.

[girls giggling]

She's clear.
