Flipper (1964–1967): Season 3, Episode 15 - Flipper and the Fugitive: Part 2 - full transcript

While the Ricks are being held hostage in their home, Flipper desperately tries to get someone to help them.

- In last week's episode,

Flipper found a survivor of a big storm

adrift in Coral Key Park.

At Flipper's insistence, Sandy and me

befriend Steve Keller, only to learn that

he's an escaped bank robber.

While Steve holds us
prisoner in our own house,

his brother Chuck is racing to meet him.

Bud and Flipper learn from a news bulletin

that there might be a
bank robber in Coral Key.

And unaware of the danger awaiting them,

speed home to tell me about
the robber and the reward.

- Who is that kid?

- I already told you,
I don't know who he is.

He's some kid in the neighborhood.

- And I told you to get rid of it!

.Dad!

Hey, Dad!

- That's not just some
kid, that's your kid.

And unaware of the danger awaiting them,

"Bud!

Come on in the house, son.

- Dad, guess what I heard on the radio?

- Bud, come on in the house.

- But Dad, there may be a
bank robber in Coral Key.

- Bud, I told you to come
in to the house right now.

- But Dad!

- You better do as your old man says, kid.

Get in the house.

- Come on, Bud.

- Yes, sir.

- All right, inside, Ricks.

- Flipper!

Flipper!

Flipper, you've gotta help us.

We're in bad trouble.

Go, Flipper.

- Come on, kid!

Hey, you know something, mister,

you've got trouble.

Your kid here talks to fish.

- Fish?

Oh, Flipper.

What'd you tell him, Bud?

- I told him to get help.

- Good boy.

- Now what about you, kid,

you talk to fish, too?

- Flipper's not a fish.

Besides, he's special.

Bud and I trained him.

- Oh, yeah, you trained him to talk,

to do whatever you tell him to?

- That's right.

- Well, he'd better be pretty good,

and pretty fast.

- Flipper's good.

And fast.

He's just about the fastest,
smartest dolphin in the world.

- Oh, boy.

- You know, Keller, Flipper doesn't

do the right thing every time.

He makes a mistake once in a while.

- Yeah?
- Uh-huh.

Like this morning.

He got Sandy and me to save you.

- Hi, Flipper!

What brings you out here?

I see, you just wanted an audience.

Well, you deserve it.

That's a great act, Flipper, wonderful.

I should know better,
but you can never tell.

This is WK8157.

Jonathan West in the

Over.

- This is WK8157.

Jonathan West in the
Albatross calling WD9598.

Over.

- Answer it.

You know how.

- This is Porter Ricks
of Coral Key, Jonathan.

Go ahead.

- Hi, Porter.

This is probably a waste
of time, yours and mine.

And, uh, you're quite at liberty

to tell me to mind my own business,

but something set me wondering.

Porter, there's nothing
wrong at Coral Key, is there?

- No, Jonathan, nothing that
we can't handle ourselves.

But thanks very much for asking.

WD9598 out.

- I think you handled that just fine.

- You got me all steamed up for nothing,

you big ham.

You heard me, run along now!

You've had your fun.

- WD9598, come in.

WD9598, come in.

- Turn it off.

- I'm supposed to answer all
calls that come into this park.

- Not if you're not here.

You're supposed to be out

looking for a bank robber, remember?

- WD9598, come in.

WD9598, come in.

- Look, can't they at least get up,

stretch their legs, take
a walk around the room,

or something?

- In a little while, when
we'll all take a walk.

- Go on, swim off, fish!

Go on.

Smart fish.

- Stow it Nate, look!

- I know that dolphin, I think.

- Do you now?

- His name's Flipper.

- You also know how to get rid of it?

- Well, try, blast it.

Do it now, you ninny, before
he scares half the fish away.

Go on, get away.
- Go on, get out of here!

Get away from the net.

- We did it, Nate!

- Yes, sir.

Good work, Nate.

- Thank you, captain.

I didn't do nothin', really.

- Well, there's time to get started.

Now get on that winch.

I want that net up right now.

Hey!

Stop m

Lost 'em.

- I don't know about you,

but I'm getting awful
tired of this sittin.

- Maybe it won't be too much longer, Bud.

- That's right.

- Well, what are we waiting for, anyway?

- We're waiting for his brother

to come up from Miami, Bud.

- Oh, that stinking dolphin.

You say you know that particular dolphin?

- Just by name, sir.

Flipper, I think, but
I can't say I know him.

- Where'd you see him before?

How do you know his name?

- They told me, the boys.

Bud and Sandy Ricks.

- Porter Ricks' boys?

- Guess that's who they are.

- Well, now, that's interesting.

And profitable, too.

- But we just lost a whole mess of fish.

- Yeah, and we'll get paid
for them in Coral Key.

Get that net aboard, up anchor.

We're heading in.

- Sit down.

Now, just take it easy.

You took your time getting here.

- Came as fast as I could.

These kids, I didn't know about them.

I don't like it.

This could make things rough.

- Everything about this has been rough.

- Where's the money, Steve?

- I buried it on the
beach when my boat landed.

- How do we get it?

- Now that you're here, I'll go get it.

Watch them.

- What are you gonna do when he gets back?

- That's up to him.

- Oh, I see.

He calls all the shots, huh?

Look, you're still a young kid.

Why don't you get out of this thing

before you ruin your life?

- My brother and I, we have an agreement.

He does all the thinking, and I let him.

- All set.

How do you like that, huh?

- Yeah, you bet.

What are we gonna do with them?

- Let's go.

- Where are we going?

- Well, you've been
wanting to take a walk,

now's your chance.

- All of 'em?

- All of 'em!

- If you want a hostage, you take me.

- Up.

Shut that dolphin up, or I will.

Hurry it up.

- Get him, Nate!

- Hey, what's going on here, Porter?

- Captain, you certainly got here in time.

How come?

- Well, that dolphin.

Your boys own him, don't they?

- Sure we do.

- I'll bet he came out and got you, huh?

- Yeah, that's right.

- I thought he would.

- You did?

- Hi, boys.

Hello,Flipper

- Hi, Dad.
- Hi, Dad.

How'd you make out?

- Very well, thank you.

- Dad, did you get the reward

for the catching the crooks?

- I sure did, Bud.

And after I paid Captain
Jordan for the fish he lost,

there was still a little
left for your college fund.

- Oh, great.

What's that?

- Well, I thought Flipper oughta
have a little reward, too.

- Flipper's favorite!
