Fireman Sam (1987–2020): Season 9, Episode 4 - On Thin Ice - full transcript

[BEEPING]

[THEME MUSIC]

THEME SONG: When he
hears that fire alarm,

Sam is always cool and calm.

[SIRENS]

If you're stuck,
give him a shout.

He'll be there to help you out.

So move aside, make
way for Fireman Sam,

'cause he's gonna save the day.

Fireman Sam, 'cause
he's brave to the core.

Sam is the hero next door.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

You've got a busy
train today, Gareth.

Haven't you heard?

Moose is opening a
Winter Wonderland.

Ooh.

That sounds twinkly.

So did you bring
your ice skates?

Yes.

I told you, I'm
an amazing skater.

Well, we're super amazing.

We have lessons every Saturday.

Let's see who's best
when we skate on the Winter

Wonderland's ice rink.

BOTH: You're on!

All aboard the Winter
Wonderland Express.

[WHISTLE BLOWS]

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Are you two coming?

No, it's all right, Gareth.

We just got back from
winter training in Newtown.

Ooh.

Oh, yes.

We've been learning all about
the new cold weather equipment.

You see, Gareth, there's
this bag, brilliant to test--

And we have to go and
show Penny how it all works.

Ooh, I'm really excited.

SARAH AND JAMES
JONES: Bye, Uncle Sam.

[LAUGHTER]

FIREMAN SAM: Bye.

Have a lovely day.

[TRAIN WHISTLE BLOWS]

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Ah, Sam, Cridlington.

How was training?

Great.

We're ready to show
Penny how to use

all the new winter equipment.

Excellent.

It all arrived this morning.

Let's see, these boxes were
delivered and that bag--

The bag-- it's arrived.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Oh, Penny.

You wait till you
see what's inside.

It's totally brilliant.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Welcome to my new
Winter Wonderland.

[CHEERS]

Follow me for a day
of igloo building.

Oh, Trevor, we can
build an igloo for two.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Where's the ice rink?

There isn't one.

It can't really be
igloo building, can it?

Now, before we
begin igloo building,

you need to learn about the
21 different types of snow.

Number one, crust.

[SIGHING]

Number 20, packed powder.

Make it stop.

Oh, what's the difference
between powder and packed

powder?

Don't ask questions.

[GROANS]

[LAUGHING]

[MUSIC PLAYING]

[BIRD CHIRPS]

The lake is frozen solid.

Psst, psst, we can ice
skate on the frozen lake.

Come on, let's go.

And remember, never use
snow type number four, yellow.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

ELVIS CRIDLINGTON: These spiky
things attach to your boots,

see, and make it
easier to walk in snow.

They're fantastic.

ELVIS CRIDLINGTON:
But just wait till you

see what's in the bag, Penny.

[LAUGHS]

I'm stuck.

I'm guessing the spikes should
only be used in snow, Elvis.

[GRUNTS]

[MUSIC PLAYING]

JAMES JONES: And Hamill spin.

SARAH JONES: Beat
that, Norman Price.

[LAUGHS] Get
ready to be amazed.

[LAUGHS]

SARAH JONES: What is he doing?

Let's show him how
it's really done.

Yes.

It's time for the routine.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

[CRACKING]

In cold weather, it is
very important to clear

the windscreens of frost.

We have a new super fast
defroster spray to do the job.

Let's try it.

[SPRAYING]

Look.

The frost is going.

My turn.

[SPRAYING]

Elvis.

Elvis.

Elvis.

[SQUEAKS]

I'm guessing we
only need to use

a small amount of spray, Elvis.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

[CRACKING]

SARAH JONES: Norman,
watch our big finish.

No, you watch mine.

[WHIMPERING]

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Did you see?

[MUSIC PLAYING]

[GRUMBLING]

What's happening?

The ice is breaking.

[DRAMATIC MUSIC]

SARAH AND JAMES JONES: Norman!

We need help!

Hurry!

NORMAN PRICE: Don't worry, I'm
like lighting on these skates.

[DRAMATIC MUSIC]

Dilys, Trevor, what's
it like in there?

DILYS PRICE: Ooh, it's getting
very snug and warm in here.

Why don't you take
your scarf off, Trevor?

[TREVOR LAUGHS]

TREVOR EVANS: No.

Help!

Norman?

Sarah and James are
trapped on the lake

and the ice is melting.

I'll call Fireman Sam.

And now, it's
time for the most

totally brilliant piece of
winter rescue equipment ever.

[BEEPING]

Sarah and James are
stuck on the frozen lake

and the ice is melting.

[ALARM]

Sarah and James are
stuck on the frozen lake.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

[SIRENS]

CHARLIE JONES: Don't
worry, you two.

Fireman Sam is on his way.

[SIRENS]

FIREMAN SAM: Elvis?

The bag.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

[MECHANICAL NOISES]

[BELL RINGS]

JAMES JONES: I'm so cold.

SARAH JONES: Don't
let go, James.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Here it is, Penny.

It's an inflatable rescue path.

Ooh.

[AIR HISSING]

CROWD: Whoa.

Tie it to the end
of the jetty, Penny.

Then, hold it steady.

Sarah, James, it's OK.

We're coming to get you.

Done.

[DRAMATIC MUSIC]

It's going to sink.

Don't panic.

I'm here.

[DRAMATIC MUSIC]

Uncle Sam.

I've got you.

[DRAMATIC MUSIC]

[DOG WHIMPERS]

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Thank you, Elvis.

You helped me complete
the winter training.

And I agree, the
inflatable rescue path is

better than totally brilliant.

Now, you three, you must
remember that frozen lakes

are not safe to play on.

NORMAN PRICE:
Sorry, Fireman Sam.

SARAH AND JAMES JONES:
Sorry, Uncle Sam.

I shouldn't have
wanted to show

off my brilliant ice skating.

[STAMMERING]

[DOG WHIMPERS]

I meant to do that.

[DOG PANTING]

[MUSIC PLAYING]

[LAUGHTER]
