THEME SONG: When he
hears that fire alarm,

Sam is always cool and calm.

[SIREN BLARING]

If you're stuck,
give him a shout.

He'll be there to help you out.

So move aside, make
way for Fireman Sam,

'cause he's gonna save the day.

Fireman Sam, 'cause
he's brave to the core.

Sam is the hero next door.

Welcome, Pontypandy
Players to our new show,

"Pontypandy Pete,"
a pirate legend.

The roles are as follows.

Playing Pontypandy Pete
and the star of the show

is Fireman Sam.

Oh.

Playing Boatswain Jim
is Lizzie Sparkes.

A har.

And playing the first
mate, Elvis Cridlington.

Me?

I'm the first mate.

[CHUCKLES]

Well done, Elvis.

James is our stagehand.

Sarah will be
making the posters,

and Mike will be hanging lights.

Great.

Brilliant.

Oh, we're off.

Um.

What about us?

What are we going to do?

You, Norman Price,
along with Hannah Sparkes

are the set designers.

That means you'll
both be in charge

of decorating the pirate ship.

HANNAH: Yay!

Brilliant.

Wow.

A real pirate ship.

No, Elvis.

It's not real.

It's what we in the
theatre call a prop.

It's something
made to look real.

See?

I've used wheels to make
it look like it's sailing.

[CHUCKLES]

Now, come along.

There's lots of work to be done.

Let's keep this simple.

One pirate flag and
one coat of paint.

No way.

Pontypandy Pete had
loads of treasure,

so we should fill it with
loads of piratey things.

Ah, don't be
ridiculous, Norman.

Three people have got
to stand on that ship.

Well, they can tiptoe
over the treasure.

Pirates don't tiptoe.

Look, I'm not having
you ruin my first ever

job as a set designer.

And I'm not having you ruin
my first job as a set designer.

Hmph.

Right.

You're not decorating anything
on my half of the ship.

And you're not
decorating anything

on my half of the ship.

[GASPS] Fine with me.

And fine with me, and my half
is going to be the best ever.

The dressing rooms all
have fire extinguishers.

So what's next on
the safety check?

Elvis?

Ah, shiver me timbers.

My name is Pontypandy Pete.

Waa.

Ooh.

I-- I-- I'm sorry, Mrs. Chen.

I'm just not feeling
very piratey.

Ooh.

Don't worry, Sam.

I'll help.

I've been on the stage a lot.

All you need to do is
stand like an actor

and project your voice.

Like-- [CLEARS THROAT] Ooh.

Ah.

BOTH: Sorry, Mrs. Chen.

Cleanup on set.

What are you doing?

I've made a cannon.

Then, I made a sail out
of Mum's old nightie.

Ooh, and a treasure chest
from cardboard boxes, and--

That's too much stuff, Norman.

It needs to look piratey.

I'm going to get more things.

My half of the ship
will be spectacular.

Right, Sam.

Try walking with
the eye patch on.

Ooh arr.

No, um-- hm.

Ooh arr.

Oh, I'm sorry, Mrs. Chen, but
this is all very new to me.

Ooh.

Don't worry, Sam.

Just copy me.

Ooh arr.

Ooh arr.

[SHOUTS]

MRS. CHEN: Ugh.

Elvis, maybe we should get
to the station for our shifts.

I can practise there.

Sorry, Mrs. Chen.

[CHUCKLES]

Not more stuff.

Yar.

I've got oars.

And look what Bronwyn had at
the cafe, an actual barrel.

Norman, you're making your
side of the ship too heavy.

This is going to the most
piratey pirate ship ever.

Just stop.

You stop.

No.

Just give it to me.

That's very good, Sarah.

[SCREAMS] Help!

What?

[SCREAMS]

[SPLASH]

Oh no.

We better call Fireman Sam.

The theatre's been
fire checked, sir.

Splendid.

And how are the stars
of the show getting on?

Then, after your line,
I come in with my part,

and oh, look, sir.

Watch.

Not now, Elvis.

There's an emergency.

[ALARM BEEPING]

Norman and Hannah
have rolled into the sea

on the prop pirate ship.

[ALARM RINGING]

Norman and Hannah have
rolled into the sea

on the prop pirate ship.

[ALARM RINGING]

[SIREN BLARING]

Tom, we need you at key now.

TOM (ON RADIO): I'm on my way.

Don't panic, Hannah.

We're in a ship.

We'll just float.

Norman, it's not a real ship.

It's just a prop.

Wait.

What?

[STUTTERING] Help!

We're sinking!

Oh no.

You won't be able to swim.

Don't worry, Norman.

I've passed my gold
swimming badge.

I can swim better than you.

[MUTTERING]

[SHOUTING]

[HEROIC MUSIC]

Bail faster, Norman.

I'm bailing as fast as I can.

[SHOUTING]

It's Fireman Sam.

In position to move, Tom.

NORMAN: Hey, Sam, wait.

Help!

Don't worry, Norman.

I've got you.

My wheelchair's on the ship.

And we need the
ship for the show.

What are we going to do?

Penny.

Let's pull her up.

I'm sorry I put so many props
on my side of the ship, Sam.

I just wanted the
best pirate ship ever.

Don't worry, Norman.

As long as you and
Hannah are both safe.

That looks like the
perfect pirate ship to me.

[GASPS] It really does.

[UPBEAT MUSIC]

Oh, my little Norman's
set design is so realistic.

I feel like Jimmy Depp could
jump out at any moment.

Ooh arr.

I am the pirate Pontypandy Pete.

And this is my treasure.

And here comes my ship,
the Pontypandy Pearl.

[APPLAUSE]

[LAUGHS] Brilliant.

It couldn't have gone better.

DILYS PRICE: Norman Price, that
sail is made from my nightie.

[GASPS] I don't want my
frillies flapping about in front

of everybody in Pontypandy.

Now, that's entertainment.

NORMAN: [SHOUTS]
