Fear the Walking Dead (2015–…): Season 7, Episode 6 - Episode #7.6 - full transcript

Morgan searches for Al, only to discover that he's not the only one looking for her, and that his search may have put a target on his own back.

Listen, don't ask the pilot
any questions.

She's here to help.
The less you know, the better.

[Walker growling]

Sarah: Last thing I remember,
the bombs went kablooey,

the chopper
was spinning, and --

Al: The engine overheated.

The pilot had to set it down
a few miles short.

Who the hell was that, Al?

It's better
if you don't know.

We get everybody back,
Sarah.

And then
we're gonna get ready

for whatever happens next.

I don't know.

I never let anyone
ask me questions like this.

Since when were you okay
with cameras?

What do you want me to say?

You know why I found you.

Same as last time.

[Sighs]

Coming back for you.

50-ton nuke
couldn't take you out.

Just an empty gas tank.

[Radio chatter]

Come on.

Come on, come on.

[Geiger counter beeps]

[Geiger counter clicking]

[Radio chatter continues]

Come on, come on.

[Radio tuning]

[Walker growling]

You're tellin' me.

It's all juiced up. [Chuckles]

Of course.

Shoulda guessed
this is where you'd be.

[Wind whistling]

Al, is that you?!

Wouldn't go far
without your gear.

Al?!

You okay?!

Al, answer me!

[Geiger counter clicking]

I know you're gonna watch
whatever I put on this.

So I am just gonna
say this now, and you can --

you can take it or leave it.

The others, they said
you mighta gotten separated,

but I'm starting to think
you didn't come back with them

for a reason.

I'm starting to think
that you believe

that the stories left out there
are too hard to pass up.

But I'm gonna remind you of a
story you recorded a while ago.

Remember when you
interviewed me?

Asking me questions I didn't
want to answer, but I did?

Mostly because you --

you wouldn't let me
not answer 'em.

And then, somehow,
you and John,

you convinced me
to stop running.

If only for a little while.

But I'm asking you
the same thing now.

Stop running, Al.

You know,
just for a little while.

Man: Copy,
Ground Control.

We're setting down
in two minutes, over.

[Static]

Man #2: Copy,
Reclamation One.

Reclamation...

No.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

[Helicopter blades whirring]

Shit.

[Panting]

Man: Vehicle is clear.

[Radio chatter]

What are you assholes
doing in my van?

No...

No, no...

Goddamit.

Man: Check over there.

Man #2: Still no sign.

Morgan: Al, if that's you,
you need to tell me now.

Al: Morgan...

Oh, God, it's your mask.
I had to be sure.

What are you
doing here?

I'm looking for you.

You didn't show up with
everybody else at the sub.

Did they see you?

They would've
if the gun ports weren't open.

We can't stay here.
They'll be back.

I'm fresh outta bullets.
We can't leave.

We gotta find Grace.
Where is she?

Looking for you, Al.
What the hell?

[Sighs]

I can explain,
just not now.

They'll be back.

Who?
Who are "they"?

I don't know.
You know.

Last time
I saw a helicopter like that

was back
when you disappeared.

And the others said
you sent somebody

in a helicopter like that to
lift them outta the blast zone.

Well, they weren't supposed
to tell you that.

I'm serious --
if we stay here, we die.

Well,
then we move.

You tell me
what this is, Al.

Al: One of their weapons
did this.

They're close.

We should be careful.

Morgan: Gonna raise Grace.

At least
try and warn her.

That would put a target
on her back.

Ours, too.

Where was
your rendezvous point?

Couple of miles
east of here.

Right before
where the radiation spikes.

Let's wait till dark
and then head there.

You can wait.
I won't.

Morgan,
they will kill you.

You know --
You know I can handle myself.

You don't know
these people.

You cannot cross them.

If you take them on,

even if you somehow win,
you still lose.

It's Grace, Al.

You know, it's --

Those soldiers
have something to do

with why
you didn't show up

with everybody else
at the sub?

It's complicated.

Less you know,
the better.

No, you don't
get to do that.

You don't get
to drag me and Grace

into shit like this
and not tell us what's going on.

I am trying
to protect you.

Are you sure
about that?

Yes.

You don't know what these people
are capable of.

Maybe.

But I think you're trying
to protect yourself, too.

From what?
I don't know.

That's why I'm asking.

Why didn't you come
with the rest of the group?

We found enough Prussian Blue
for everybody

to make the journey.

I belong
on the road.

Doing what I was doing
when we met.

There are stories
out here

that need to be recorded,
now more than ever.

So you're
doing that again.
Doing what?

You're putting the camera
between you and everybody else.

That is not
what this is.

I didn't even have
my camera.

Those assholes took it
back at the van.

Well, good.
Maybe that'll help you see

what's right in front
of your face.

[Whistling]

What is it?

What did you find out here?

What is that exactly,
Morgan?

You think
they're still here?

We'd be dead
if they were.

We'll be dead
if we stop moving.

[Walkers growling]

Only way to the rendezvous
is through there.

I don't understand.

If they're looking
to kill us,

how'd you get them
to rescue everybody?

It's complicated.

We're just out here
looking for Grace, right?

What else
would we be doing?I don't know.

Looking for your camera,
maybe.

Looking for
whatever story

you think those soldiers
might have for you.

[Gunshots]

[Grunts]

I can't see them.
We need visibility.

Is it safe?

Radiation won't matter
if we're dead.

[Gunshots continue]

[Walker growling]

This way.

[Gunshots continue]

Who are they,
Al?

What do they want?

[Bullets ricochet]

Start talking.

Start talking!

The place they're from has
a secret to ensure its survival.

This is
a Reclamation Team.

They have
one mission --

to destroy any evidence
they were ever here.

Which means us?

Right now, yeah.
[Walker growling]

Are you the reason
why they're here?

No,
not directly.

[Bullets ricochet]

Go, go, go!
Let's go!

You need
to level with me, Al.

If not you,
who are they after?

A pilot
who went AWOL.

The pilot who lifted
everyone to safety.

And where are they?
Not here.

She's in hiding.

Why would she do it?

Why'd she help us?

Because I asked her to.

What,
are you together?

No.

Was it a helicopter?

I know.

We can't keep doing this.

That's what the video is for,
isn't it?

Don't think we'll ever see
each other again.

[Gunshots]

They're gonna kill her,
right?

If they find her.

You know
where she is?

No.
She didn't tell me.

She said
it was safer that way.

Okay.

[Gunshots]

We need to make sure
that they don't find her.

Morgan, what are you doing?
Grace, are you there?

I'm at
the rendezvous.

At least,
I will be soon.

Grace: Copy.
I'll be there.

Why are
you doing this?

I found somebody.

I found a lot of people.
[Bullet ricochets]

And I wouldn't have
if you hadn't forced me

to answer those goddamn
questions when we first met.

[Bullet ricochets]

We have to make it to the end
of the line of cars.

It's wide open.

Trust me,
Al.

Yeah?

Let's go.

Go, now.
Now!

[Gunshots]

[Walker growling]

[Growling stops]

You go.
I'll draw them away from you.

She'll be here.

[Gunshots]

[Tires squeal]

Get in!

What the hell
is that?

You think you're the only one
with a set of wheels?

Come on.
Al?

I can draw them away
from you both.

Let me.

I'm not leaving
without you.

Come on.

Come on!

[Gunshots]

[Tires squeal]

It's dry.

They must've hit
the tank.

Ah, we gotta get it deeper
in the woods.

We could push or...

Let's just cover it
with brush.

They'll see it otherwise.
Get the tracks, too.

The irradiated area's about
a hundred yards straight ahead.

We could just
walk into it.

I mean, we'll have to take
a course of Prussian Blue,

but maybe
that'll keep them away.

If you got something to combat
radiation exposure,

they've got
something better.

Who are they exactly?

Oh, don't expect too much of
an answer from her about that.

Sarah told me
about the baby.

So sorry.

Thank you.

It's, um --
It's hard.

Some days, it's...

still hard.

Just different.

Mo's helped.

Rachel's daughter?

Rachel didn't make it.

So we've become
the closest thing

that little girl has
to parents.

[Birds chirping]

All the more reason
to get you home to her.

Say the same for you,
Al.

Those soldiers
stay on mission,

they're gonna keep
coming after us,

keep coming after
your friend.

We gotta stop them.

Only way to do that
is to kill them.

Then that's what we do.
Morgan...

Somebody that Al cares about
is in danger.

Gotta help.

If we kill them,
they may just send more.

Maybe you should get back,
get to Mo.

No.
No, I'm staying.

From what Morgan tells me,
I never would've met him

if you
hadn't helped him.

I'm gonna
do the same for you.

My van's got enough firepower
to take them out.

MRAP is outta fuel
and ammo.

Their chopper isn't.

We're never gonna get close
to that.

If I lead them away,
we can.

You get the ammo
and the fuel.

It'll be Aviation A,

which will burn
in the MRAP's diesels.

I should
lead 'em away.

It's your truck.
You should get the fuel.

No, no, no.
It's gotta be me.

I know how they think,
how they move.

I'll get them
someplace wide open.

You come in
and light 'em up.

It's not too late for you
and your friend.

You could still
find her.

I've made my peace
with it.

I'll be
on channel 4.

Click when the MRAP's
locked and loaded.

I'll tell you
where we are.

[Birds chirping]

You got this place
for you and me?

When are you due back?

[Walker growling]

Mind lending me a hand?

Got a special job for you.

Come on.

Wind's blowing
in the right direction.

We're safe.

It's clear.

And we have fuel.

There's no ammo.

Al.

We're where
you told us to be.

We got fuel
but no ammo.

I know.

What do you mean
you know?

It's a light helicopter.
It isn't armed.

Al,
you sent us here.

You told us
there'd be weapons.

Got it covered.

Tell me
where you are.

You and Grace,
you have a kid now.

You need
to get back to her.

The woman
I told you about,

she gave up everything she
believed in to save our friends.

To help me.

I won't let you and Grace
do the same thing.

Al...

they're gonna kill you. Maybe.

But I can take them down
with me.

Just tell me
where you are.

Al, tell me.

Al.

[Walker growling]

Come on, Al!

Reclamation One --
do you copy?

Man: Who is this?

What are you doing
on this channel?

Identify yourself.

The people out there,
they didn't see anything.

They don't know anything
about you.

But I do.
I know why you're here.

I know
who you're looking for.

She told me everything.

She even gave me her maps
and flight plans.

I wish you could tell me more.

But I know
what it means to you.

The purpose it gives you.

How it gives you a reason
to wake up every day.

You're right to protect it.

Elaborate.

I give it all back
in exchange for an interview.

There's an old house
by the ravine.

You probably flew over it
when you touched down.

Rendezvous
in three hours.

Oh.

And bring
my camera back.

We haven't recovered
a camera.

Don't be a smart-ass.

Sarah: The Pennsylvania --
it ain't the Four Seasons,

but at least
it's got clean water.

Daniel: Why are you
interviewing me?

Don't you ever stop?

Luciana: Can you wait
until we get back?

Wes: You're asking me about
Derek now?

Charlie: I don't know.

Do you think Morgan
has movies on the sub?

[Keys jingle]

Where'd you find that?

Found it in your pack.

You didn't tell Al
you had it.

Nope.

Didn't want to give her
an excuse to leave,

so I let her think
that they took it.

Anything on that tape?

Interviews with everyone
before she split.

She knew she wasn't
coming back with them.

Guess she wanted to take
something of them with her.

Thought I would find
some clue

where she was leading
the soldiers on here.

Yeah,
keep looking.

We're gassed up.

Gonna see if there's enough
juice in the battery

for her
to turn over.

After you give me back
my camera,

there are a few questions
I want to ask you.

Simple stuff -- your names,

where you're from,
what you've seen.

And how's this for a starter?

Did you really think
Ground 17 gave me anything?

[Walker growling]

Easy.

I know you're pissed.

I dragged you here
under false pretenses.

But if I were you, I would
lower your guns, you know?

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Thank you for your help.

Well, I agree --
we could do better.

Shrapnel?

Your breath...

What the hell is that?

Fellas need directions
or something?

Negative.
No rendezvous.

Then I'm gonna start visiting
the locations on these maps.

Are you really gonna tell
Ground Control

you're coming home
empty-handed?

We have the two parties
you escaped with.

If you share
Ground 17's whereabouts,

we won't
eliminate them.

Grace...

I'm sorry.

Don't be.

Please, there's gotta be
another way.

Do you agree
to this proposal?

They don't know anything.

We have a daughter.

They -- They're not a part
of this thing.

She needs us.

Whatever you're doing...

whatever your reason is here,
you have to understand that.

Killing them will not
get me to talk.

She doesn't have
the information you want.

I can't give you
what you want.

Do you agree
to this proposal?

Morgan: She really doesn't.

Hey,
I'm telling you the truth.

Let them go.

Ready one.
Grace: She doesn't know!

We swear! Don't do this.

We're about to kill the male.
On my mark.

Al, tell them!

Don't --Tell them
it's not gonna do anything!

Morgan...

One.
[Gunshot]

Al!

[Whimpers]

Two.

[Gunshot]
Al!

Oh, God.

Al!

Three --
Stop!

I know where she is.

I agree to your proposal.

Where is Ground 17?

She went to a cabin
in the Smokeys.

Belonged to her co-pilot.

You said
you didn't know.

I lied.

Listen, you assholes,
I can prove it.

We require confirmation.

How do I know you won't
kill them when I tell you?

We require confirmation.

She told me
where the cabin was.

I'll take you there.

You can kill me
after we find it,

but you have to let them go.
Al, don't.

Don't give her up
for us.

They will kill you. They won't.

They won't.

You need us.

Negative.
[Gun cocks]

Ready one.

Grace: Oh, no.

[Gunshot]
[Grunts]

You're not
killing anybody.

Let her go.

Drop the gun
and let her go.

[Gunshot]
One.

[Gunshot]

Two.

Let her go.

Down.

Grace, go.

Go!

Clear target!

Al,
do you copy?

I got the truck.
Can you get them to the fort?

I can do the rest.

[Engine starts]

[Grunts]

Man: Clear target!
Clear target!

[Brakes squeal]

Go!

[Gunshots]

Al: You're giving
it all up.

Isabelle: I know.

Daniel, do you copy?

If you can, get to coordinates

29252015 95169323.

Morgan, Grace --
what's your ETA?

Five minutes out.

You okay?
Yeah.

Yeah,
I'm fine.

The less we say on here,
the better.

Copy that.

Did you mean it
back there?

What?

You called Mo
our daughter.

You mean that?

Yeah.

I guess I did.

Huh.

I guess I do.

Then let's get back home
to her.

[Chuckles]

[Helicopter blades whirring]
Morgan?

[Groans]

Shit.
We got company.

Keep driving.

Al, we got 'em
right on our tail.

Yeah, Morgan, I know.

Just stay the course.
Okay.

They're giving up?

No,
they're landing.

And they're gonna
beat us there.

[Engine revs]

Morgan, where the hell
are you?

[Sighs]

[Walkers growling]

[Knife unsheathes]

[Gunshots]

[Indistinct conversation]

[Engine revs]

[Brakes squeal, hiss]

You okay?

Alright.

Get them here,
keep them here.

And when I say --
drive.

Al?

Not yet.

[Walker growling]

Shit.

Gotta stall them.

I'll do it.I can do this,
Morgan.

Let me.

Fix the fuse.

You move,
we light you up.

Place your hands
in the air!

Maybe you didn't hear me.

Place your hands above your head.
You have one last cha--

[Gunfire]

[Walker growls]

[Growling stops]
[Grunts]

I have proof I know
where Ground 17 is.

It's on
this videotape.

Raise your hands
in the air!

Lower your guns.

Raise your hands in the air
and show us the proof!

Alright,
I'm coming out.

Give us the tape,

keeping your other hand
in the air.

Let them go.

Ready one.
One shot kill --

Grace -- now!

[Engine revs]

[Gunshots]

You okay?

Yeah.

Yeah.

[Coughs]

This doesn't change anything,
you know.

Still going.

I saved your life.

Means you owe me.

What do you want?

An interview.

Please.

[Birds chirping]

Why are we doing this?

Boy, you're really not
used to being

on that side
of the camera, are you?

If you're leaving us, Al, I want
something to remember you by.

What do you
want to know?

Were you telling the truth
back there to those soldiers?

You really know
where she is?

Your pilot?

Yeah.

I do.

Why you not
going after her?

This isn't gonna work,
Morgan.

Hey, I'm not trying
to pull anything here.

Then what
do you really want?

Exactly the same thing
you wanted when I was sat there.

I just --
Just tell me the truth.

You think that's gonna get me
to change my mind?

It's about the only thing
we can't run away from, Al.

I know I couldn't.

The truth.

You know
where she is.

Why are you not
going after her?

Why are you leaving here
on your own?

I told you --
it's complicated.

She leave
without telling you?

Is she trying to protect you
from that Reclamation team?

What?

I'm sorry.

I can't get on the helicopter.

She wanted me
to come with her.

Then why?

She gave up everything

to save people
she never even met.

Because I asked her to.

She gave up everything
for me.

Then why
are you not with her?

I'm sorry.

I can't do what you did.

Because I couldn't
do the same.

And I would have to
give this up.

And you couldn't
do that?

I chose this
a long time ago.

You know what happened
to my brother.

I can't walk away from this.

Can't do that to him.

I don't know what
you're talking about.

Can't do it.

But just when did you --
when did you choose the camera?

You had the right idea
the first time.

[Sighs]

This can happen only once.

I'm sorry.

Broke the only rule
I ever had.

[Chuckles]

I should never have let myself
become part of the story.

Part of whose story?

I-I mean,
who is she?

What's her name?
Will you tell me that?

What's her name,
Al? I --

[Bag zips]

You know
where you're gonna go?

I'll find a way out,
clear of the fallout.

Al...

whoever you think
you're letting down,

I doubt they'd want you
to miss out because of it.

See you
down the road.

[Walker growling]

Where the hell are your legs?

Where are the maps?

Drop sites?

Where the hell are you
poor assholes from?

Morgan: Al?

What the hell,
Morgan?

I made up my mind.

Just like I did.

You and John still
came after me one more time.

So...

I am sorry.

This is di--[Radio chatter]

Man: Repeat, repeat --
location of Ground 17...

Repeat --Transmission sucks.

Come on.

[Radio tuning]

Woman: Reclamation One,
you're being recalled.

I repeat,
you're being recalled.

Do you copy?

Don't.

Al, don't.

Reclamation One, here.
We copy.

Stand by for new
target coordinates.

Who is
the new target?

Negative,
Reclamation One.

Ground 17
remains the target.

Her chopper's transponder
places her at coordinates

35 42 24 84 83 22 59 16.

They're gonna find her.

No matter where she goes,
they're gonna find her.

Do you copy,
Reclamation One?

Reclamation One here.
We copy.

En route.

Tell me
you're going after her.

Tell me you're not
gonna be chasing after

whatever bullshit story
those people are up to.

Not sure,
Morgan.

Either way,
it'll be one helluva ride.

[Chuckles]

It's Al's rule,
right?

Shame it sucks.

That it's a joke.

'Cause this isn't about
some choice you made

a long time ago,
about giving up that camera.

This is about you
being scared.

Of losing her
or losing yourself --

I don't know.

You're part
of the story, Al.

You were before,
and you are now.

Hell, if you're alive,
you are part of the story.

And you can pretend
that there's nothing's there,

that you're like a piece
of machinery like that camera.

You're not connected
or affected, but you are.

You are the story.

I'm grateful I got to be
a part of yours.

And I'm very glad that you got
to be a part of mine.

Me, too.

You go.

Okay?

[Sighs]

Anybody there?

[Door creaks]

You know it's
the right decision.

You know if I come with you,
it won't go well.

[Gun cocks]

I don't know.

Isabelle: Turn around.

Now.

We've gotta stop meeting
like this.

Al.

What are you
doing here?

You can't stay.

They know where you set
your chopper down.

They're probably about
a couple days behind me.

You came all this way
to warn me?

I want
to come with you.

I can't come with you.

Al, I made my peace
with your decision --

even if
I don't understand it.

I haven't.

I don't think
you have, either.

If what you said is true,
they'll never stop looking.

I mean,
you're right.

They won't stop.

I can handle them.

I just can't live my life
looking over my shoulder.

We'll always be
looking over our shoulders.

That's okay.

You know
the only way this works.

The only way we can stay
one step ahead of them.

And if I have to
give this up...

I'll just end up resenting you.

I won't.

Al...

You gave up everything.

So will I.

Al, I don't want you
to have to do that --

Al! Al!

It was never about the camera,
Isabelle.

I was scared.

I am scared.

I know.

I know.

But what's different now?

Not trying...

not coming here...

that was scarier.

We will find
something new.

Something for us both.

And if we don't?

Then at least
we gave it a try.

Where should we
go first?

This is the way
people need to see me.

I need your help, Victor.

[Baby crying]

It's Mo.

Little early for Scotch.

Don't you ever use
my medical skills again

to help you
get what you want.

I got 'em in my sights.

You shouldn't watch this.

How long do we have?

Chambliss: This episode
is called "Reclamation."

That is a word that has
particularly loaded meaning.

Man: We're sending
a reclamation team.

We first heard it back in
Season 5, when Isabelle

talked about the fear that
a reclamation team would come.

It was something that
Isabelle spoke of

as being dangerous, relentless,
something to be feared.

This is the episode when
we see a reclamation team

for the first time.

Man: 3, 0-3, 40...

This episode marks Al's
last appearance this season.

I don't know.

I never let anyone ask me
questions like this.

In Al's history on the show,
we have seen her

filming other people,
asking other people questions.

In this episode,

we actually see her
on the side of the camera.

We see her in these
stolen moments

that she had with Isabelle
just before the bombs went off.

What did you find
out here?

It speaks to the way that
Isabelle is able

to get at who Al really is.

Morgan and Al's reunion
was a lot of fun to shoot,

because it's
a very charged moment.

If we stay here,
we die.

Well then, we move.

You tell me
what this is, Al.

Al has heard on the radio that
a reclamation team is coming,

that they're aware of the fact

that Isabelle helped some people
escape the nuclear blast,

and that they're coming
to figure out

exactly what went down.

It's kind of this quick reunion
before they realize

they have to keep moving

because the reclamation team
is nearby.

[Gunfire]
Get down!

Who are they after?

The pilot who lifted
everyone to safety.

Why'd she help us?

Because
I asked her to.

What are you,
together?

When Morgan learns
that there is, in fact,

a person who Al
has feelings with

and a person who helped Al
save everyone,

his desire to risk his own life
to help Al is all about

wanting Al to be able to
experience something like that.

You can still
find her.

I've made my peace
with it.

Morgan kind of invoking
his biggest fear,

the thing that we heard him say

when he first joined
"Fear the Walking Dead" --

I lose people
and then I lose myself.

Chambliss: And that really
spoke to his fear

of opening himself up
to human connection,

because there are many
great things

that come along with that --

friendship, companionship,
love,

but at the same time,
it carries a great risk

in this zombie apocalypse.

It's not uncommon to
lose the people around you

just like that.

Man: We have the two parties
you escaped with.

She shared Ground 17's
whereabouts.

We will
eliminate them.

We heard from Isabelle
just how capable

a reclamation team could be,

so we knew that it was really
gonna have to come down to

our characters outsmarting them
so that we wouldn't have to

be having Morgan and Grace and
Al looking over their shoulders

for the rest of their time
in "The Walking Dead" universe.

It kind of had to be
a clean defeat

where no one knew what happened.

[Gunshot]
[Grunts]

[Scuffling]

You're not killing
anybody.

One of the other things that
we were kind of interested in

is giving the MRAP kind of
its last, heroic moment.

This is a vehicle that made
its entrance

back in the first episode
of Season 4

and it was always meant to
be a part of Al's character.

[Door clanging]

We saw it used to great effect.

We saw the guns on the roof
used.

[Guns click]

We, of course, know those guns
are out of bullets

in this episode,
so we got the idea that we would

use these old,
Civil War-era cannons.

CRM soldiers think the guns
are going to be used,

but ultimately, they're not.

It's really just
to distract them

so the MRAP can
pull out of the way

and Morgan can pull the fuse
on the cannon

and use the cannon to
essentially obliterate

the soldiers in a very,
very messy way.

There's always something about
seeing a Walker in pieces

and of course,
Al is a bit sarcastic

to a CRM soldier.

Where the hell
are your legs?

One of the last scenes
between Al and Morgan

is an interview where Morgan
says he saved Al's life,

so she owes him an interview,

and that is a direct callback
to the fact that

that Al saved Morgan's life
way back in 401

and said that meant
he owed her an interview.

You really know
where she is?

Yeah.

I do.

Why are you not
going after her?

He's asking her these questions

because he wants her
to have to confront the fact

that she's the obstacle
standing in the way right now

between her reunion with
Isabelle, the woman she loves.

This episode was very much
a callback

to Al and Morgan's first episode
on "Fear the Walking Dead,"

and that episode, of course,
had one more person in it,

and that was John Dorie.

Even though he's not with
these characters,

we can feel him there,
because Morgan is moving forward

with the lessons he learned

and Al is hearing kind of
the echoes of everything

that John Dorie would have said

if he were standing there
in this episode,

telling Al that she's got to
get on that helicopter

and try to find Isabelle.

Truth is something
you can't get around.

Nope, you can't.

While we're giving them

the "Fear the Walking Dead"
version of a happy ending,

we wanted to be clear
that it wasn't going to be easy.

We kind of landed on this idea
of having Al's interview

that she had done with Isabelle
to be playing in the background.

It spoke to Isabelle's love
for Al,

that she's in this cabin
watching this tape

and she's obviously still
thinking about her.

You know,
if I come with you...

it won't go well.

But at the same time,
it allowed someone to voice

all the practical concerns
that they would have to face.

[Gun cocks]

Isabelle: Al.

We've got to stop
meeting like this.

Al.

Just can't live my life
looking over my shoulder.

We'll always be
looking over our shoulders.

That's okay.

What that did was
it essentially allowed Al

to speak to the fact that
their love for each other,

the fact that they
can be together,

can outweigh all of
those negatives.

This is about the best
happy ending you can get

in "The Walking Dead" universe.

Where should we
go first?
