Falling Skies (2011–2015): Season 4, Episode 12 - Shoot the Moon - full transcript

With the weight of humanity's survival on Tom and Lexi's shoulders, they must defeat Tom's mortal enemy and find a way to destroy the omnipotent Espheni Power Core. Meanwhile, a new, terrifying Espheni Bomb is dropped onto Chinatown, immobilizing the 2nd Mass and preparing them for Human Skitterizaton.

Oh, my God.

Please.

Help me.

Please, help me.

Hang on.

Oh, my God.

Oh, my God.

- Help me.
- Dingaan! Dingaan!

There's something in the fog! Help!

- Denny! Denny!
- Help me.

- Please, stop. No.
- Don't leave us!

- Get it off me! Get it off me!
- Get it off me.

There it is again.

Used to be every 60 seconds.
Now it's every 10.

There you go. Help yourself.

You're getting pretty good at that.

It's been 24 hours.
Dad and Lexi should be there by now.

- Ready?
- Let's stay focused on our job.

If there's gonna be an attack, it's bound
to happen pretty soon. Keep your dukes up.

You're pushing. Don't force it.

Aim for the heart.

Now, remember, when you're in a situation
where you don't have a gun...

...you only get one chance.

Try again.

Bull's-eye!

Do you think that's why Hal
gave Dad the syringe?

With the poison?

- What syringe?
- Before he got on the ship with Lexi, he...

Just in case.

I thought you knew.

Your dad agreed to take it?

Yeah.

Oh.

Good work, Matt.
That was unbelievable. Bull's-eye.

- Thanks.
- Let's check the perimeter.

- Hey, be careful on your watch.
- Thanks a lot.

Dingaan's recon team was only
supposed to scout a two-mile radius.

- He should be back by now.
- They're not the only squad overdue.

- Anthony's team was supposed to be back.
- Let's hope they didn't meet...

...with that scorched overlord
with the burn-torture fetish.

Dingaan should have taken more people.

Idiot.

- Whoa, whoa!
- Dingaan!

Hey, you okay?

Where's the...?
Where's the rest of your patrol?

They're gone.

They're all gone.

"It's not what happens to you
but how you choose to react that matters."

Autopilot's latched on
to the homing beacon.

Wherever the Espheni's power core is
on the moon, we're heading straight for it.

All right. I'm gonna check the bombs.

Oh, no.

A breach in the hull.

Temperature caused the casings
to crack while we were in stasis.

I turned off life support to
preserve power. I didn't know...

What? That it would destroy the bomb?

- I'm sure there's another explanation.
- You don't think I sabotaged it?

- You still don't trust me?
- No, I trust you, Lexi.

That's my choice,
but trust isn't really the issue.

We have to blow up the power core.

We don't have a bomb.

Well, no, no. Hold on.
It doesn't work that way.

I'm not a doomsday device.

I saw you wipe Beamers out
without lifting a finger.

What I do relies on concentration...

...directing natural forces around me,
which doesn't work in this vacuum.

When we get closer to the lunar surface,
you can't use the moon's gravity?

I mean, I might get a
little bit stronger, but...

- Wouldn't be the same?
- No.

Is that our target?

Yes. It's a mining platform, refinery,
and energy plant all in one.

- To deploy helium-3.
- Son of a bitch. So that's it, huh?

They extract the helium-3 from the
lunar rock and use the ore as a fuel.

Exactly. They refine the ore into
energy and deliver it to the power core...

...which converts it into wireless
electricity and beams it to the Earth.

Wireless electricity.

Tesla said it was possible.

So that's how they do it.
That's how they power everything.

All the ghetto walls and mechs and Beamers.
That's how they turn humans into skitters?

Yes. Everything they need
to fuel their war machine.

I mean, it's no accident
that the Espheni chose Earth.

You need a life-sustaining planet
close to a helium-rich moon.

That overlord that I burned,
he said that there was a danger coming.

A force we couldn't comprehend.

- The hell?
- Something's overriding...

...our homing beacon,
pulling us off course.

They're onto us.

They're pulling us to the dock.

I'm not gonna stand here and wait.

Get behind me.

Blow something up, would you, please?

And hurry back home.

We came upon a militia camp
deep in the woods.

Seemed abandoned,
so I sent Dick and Denny to fan out...

...check around.

It was hard to see.

There was a thick layer of fog everywhere.

But then I realized why it was so quiet.

Soldiers were all on the ground.

They had these things...

...pulsating on their chests.

Some of the people were convulsing...

...transforming into something else.

After a while, they weren't even screaming.

I tried to help...

...but they were stuck somehow...

...trapped in some kind
of tar on the ground.

One of them looked at me...

...right into my eyes.

It was like how a hungry animal
looks at its prey.

That's when I started to run.

- I couldn't save them.
- You'd be dead too, if you didn't run.

Human skitters. There's no question.

I saw them working on this
when I was with Lexi that...

I guess they don't have to drag us off
to some factory to mutate us anymore.

They can just drop it right on our laps.

They're turning us into skitters
on our own turf.

You see anyone else there?

Ahem. You mean Sara?

That's not what I asked.

Nothing headed in this direction.

Yeah, for now.

All right, ladies.
Let's wrap up the bedtime story.

- All right.
- The enemy knows our location.

Whatever Dingaan saw
could be headed this way.

Half our people are out on reconnaissance.
We're spread thin as it is.

Everybody should get to their posts.
Be on alert. Let's go.

That guy you saw?

Was he really stuck like that?
He couldn't move?

It's okay, Matt, we're not gonna panic.
Whatever's out there...

...we're ready for them.

- Right?
- Colonel.

Let's go, boy.

You really think we can just be friends?

If that's my only option, yeah.

You've always been my best friend, Maggie.

That's why it's so tough.

Incoming Beamer.

- We need to get the hell out of here.
- Screw that.

- No way I'm playing defense anymore!
- You don't understand.

Look out! Incoming!

- Let's get back! Clear some space.
- No, let's get out of here.

- Go! Go!
- Fall back! Fall back!

Hal, Maggie, run!

Hal, stop staring. Run.

Ben, let's go.

Go! Go! Go!

Come on! Up here!

Hurry UP!

Go! Go! Go!

- Unh!
- Hurry up!

- Come on, Hal, hurry.
- What's wrong?

- Why are you stopping?
- Are you kidding me? We're stuck.

It's like cement.

The Lord is my shepherd.
I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down
in greener pastures.

He leadeth me.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death, I'll fear no evil, for thou art...

Get away from the door, Matt.

We have to barricade these windows.

- Keep that fog from seeping in here, buddy.
- Okay.

Here we go. We got it.

Here.

That's good.

Keep going.

Matt, come over here.

Don't let that stuff touch you, Matt.

Run. Run!

Did you really think
you could hijack our ship?

And I wouldn't know about it?

Mira, what are you...?

Oh, my God.

I've waited a long time for this, Mason,
and I'm going to enjoy it.

Oh, no. It's him.

Don't you touch her.

No!

I don't have to touch her.

Leave it! Leave it! Leave it!

MY gun!

Forget it.

I'm stuck.

I can't move my arms, my legs.

Neither can I.

Oh, no! Oh, no! No!

Anne!

Anne! Stay out of the fog! Anne!

Stay out of the fog!

Shut up, Pope.

- Stop attracting them.
- Help!

I'm stuck!

We're in the fog!

Help!

- Colonel Weaver?
- Right here.

I just can't seem to move.

Wait.

They're gonna come in here.
They're gonna get us. I know it.

We don't know a damn thing, Matt.

Just hang tight.
I'm not gonna let anything happen to you.

I saw it happen at the factory.
They're gonna get us and change us into...

Stop. Matt, stop.

No. No, no, no.

The knife.

- You still got it?
- Yeah, I got it.

Get it out.

I got it. I got it.

- Aim for the heart.
- The heart? Where's the heart?

The heart... Just do it!

Bull's-eye, Matt.

Bull's-eye.

Before his untimely death,
my brother implemented a safeguard.

That Triskelion she wears?

It doesn't mean peace.

It never did.

It means control.

Maggie? If you're gonna do something,
you better do it now.

Do it faster than now.

Ben!

Give me your hand.

- They're getting close!
- It's no use. There isn't any leverage.

Come on. You can do it.

You can do it! Come on!

- Attagirl.
- Unh!

He's gonna need both of us. Hal!

Whenever you two are ready.

No. No, no. Don't hurt her because of me.

No. No, no.

Anne! Stay out of the fog!

Will you shut up?

Why do you keep calling for her?

She's a sentry on the outpost
on the edge of camp.

I'm just hoping she didn't get stuck.

We wouldn't be stuck if you hadn't run into
the very thing I told you to run away from.

Do you always stampede towards things
when you have no idea what the risk is?

- Yeah, kind of.
- Idiot.

What the hell is that?

- What is it? What?
- No. The hell is that?

- What is it?
- Oh, no, no, no.

Dingaan.
Don't move. Don't even breathe.

Don't move!

Dingaan!

Dingaan!

Every weapon has its weakness.

I just found your kryptonite.

I delivered him here...

...just like I promised I would.

I wanted to prove
how valuable I am to your cause.

So why would you kill
the best weapon you have?

To prove you're stronger than him?

We're not gonna make it, are we?

Matt, listen to me.

I need you to stay tough, Matt.

You're not gonna throw in the towel,
not on my watch.

You hear what I'm saying, soldier?
You hear me?

I want you to repeat after me.

The fight isn't over till it's over.

- Say that.
- The fight isn't over till it's over.

That's it. Now, say it with me.

The fight isn't over till it's over.

The fight isn't over till it's over.

- Keep chanting!
- The fight isn't over till it's over!

The fight isn't over till it's over!

The fight isn't over till it's over!

Hold on, boys.

I'm coming.

The fight isn't over till it's over!

The fight isn't over till it's over!

Damn straight.

Hal!

Stop firing. We got you.

Are you guys filing taxes up there or what?

Hal, we're tossing you a cable.
You're gonna have to trust us.

- Because it's so easy to trust you these days.
- Dingaan!

Aah! You sons of bitches!

Ding! Dingaan!

Get it off me! Get this off me!

Get it off me! Get this off me!

Ugh! I can't believe I
just did that for you.

We're even.

I did this for the Espheni race.

These humans...

...they betrayed me.

They tried to kill me.

I'm going to burn her,
just like you burned me.

I am Espheni.

Stay with me.

- You're hurt.
- I'm okay.

We have to get out of here.

Lost a lot of time.

Our bomb is destroyed.

Maybe we can use this ship as a bomb.

Yeah. That's the only way.

Can you set the coordinates
on a collision course for the power core?

Yeah.

Yes, I can.

You need to release the Beamer
from the tractor beam...

...or it'll get dragged down too.

I can't do that from here.

Inside the airlock, you'll find a panel.
You'll need to destroy the wires.

Beamer will be ready to go when I join you.

No, I'm not leaving you.

We have to divide and conquer
if we want to get out alive.

You're right. This is the only way.

I'm your daughter.

It's time for you to trust me.

Make your choice.

Oh, my God. I guess you won after all.

No. I can do this.

After I say goodbye.

The fight isn't over till it's over.

The fight isn't over till it's over.

The fight isn't over till it's over!

Anne.

- We need to get the hell out of here.
- You sure you know how to use that thing?

There's a lot about me you don't know, Dan.

- Yeah, I guess so.
- Hurry up!

If this is gonna work, we're gonna need
to do it together. In tandem.

- When you feel it, grab it.
- All right, just throw it.

Ready? Go.

Okay.

Thank you.

It's great to see you two
working so well together.

- You okay?
- Thank you.

Anytime.

- Come on.
- Let me burn it!

Be my guest. Get it. Take...

I'm out. Damn it.

I'm stuck. Dan.

I'm so sorry.

Hope this works.

- Hello? Can you hear me?
- Lexi, what are you doing? We have to go.

You destroyed tracking beam's security. I
can manually release the Beamer from here.

Great, but you have to be
in the Beamer with me.

I'm not getting on the Beamer.

The overlord destroyed the autopilot
just before you killed him.

I think I can command the ship
towards the power core myself.

No, no, no.

There's got to be another way.

Do one thing for me.

Touch the cocoon.

Please. This is the only way.

We're on reserve power. We have to hurry.

I can't maintain this for long.

Listen to me. I'm your father
and you don't know everything.

- I want you to do exactly what I'm telling you.
- I love you.

I wish we could have been together
long enough to do what you tell me.

Wasn't enough time.

- This is my fault. If I hadn't asked...
- It was the only way.

If we hadn't done this,
it would all be over.

You would have lost everything
and everyone you love with it.

Not everyone.

I've programmed the Beamer.

Locked onto the homing beacon
to reverse course.

There's enough life support left
to get you home.

But you have to leave now.

Don't do this.

Thank you...

...for showing me what it means
to be a human being.

For showing me how to love.

Goodbye, Daddy.

The son of a bitch called in backup.

- Dingaan.
- What is it?

- Dingaan.
- What?

Shh! Don't move.

Folks, it's been a financial pleasure.

Come on.

You slimy piece of...!

Whoa!

Who's there?

Be quiet. I think you're attracting them.

- Sara?
- You remember my name. That's something.

Unbelievable. It's quite
the reunion, honey.

- What is that thing on Dingaan?
- That is a...

An earthworm on human growth hormone.

Please, just shoot it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

Sara, now, hold on one second
before you do that. Now, listen.

Listen, sweetheart.
Don't squeeze the trigger too hard.

Nice and easy, you understand?
Don't squeeze the gun too hard.

- Take it easy.
- Okay.

Let me do my thing
or I will shoot you on purpose.

Easy. Just, easy does it.

- Dingaan?
- I'm good.

How did you find us without getting stuck?

I stole a four-wheel drive.

You're welcome, by the way.

Thank you?

Thank you? That's...

That's your concern?

Well, you're unbelievable. Here we go.

Thank you. You just show up...

...at an incredibly convenient time.

We're supposed to get down on our hands
and knees and wet ourselves?

Thank you!

Don't act like you didn't miss me.

Anne.

If I don't get a chance to say it, I just
wanted to tell you that I'm very proud of you.

You're a brave woman.

You've endured more than
any person has coming to them.

And I honor you.

As a woman...

...as a soldier...

...and as a mom.
- Oh, Dan.

Dan, don't talk like that.

- Look...
- You can't give up now.

It's not over till it's over.

I'm not...

Who said that? Who said I was giving up?

- Gonna take a lot more than this thing.
- Dan.

I'll tell you. I'll tell you. I'll tell...

Once Dad destroys the power core, maybe...

Those things out here
will turn into butterflies.

No, but it could affect whatever's
causing this fog.

- Don't lose hope.
- Yeah, no, we got to stay hopeful.

- What are they doing?
- Sounds like they're trying to climb the bus.

No way.

You were saying?

Are you being okay, Tom Mason?

I don't believe it. Where
did you come from?

We'll be out of this situation directly.

Oh, thank you, Cochise.

You did it, baby.

Tom Mason, can you hear me?

Tom Mason, we 're losing contact with you.

Come on!

Anne? Are you okay?

It's gone.

- Matt, are you okay?
- Yeah.

Dan.

- Dan?
- Look out!

Dan, it's okay.

- It's okay. It's me, Anne.
- Anne?

- It's okay. It's gone.
- Anne.

It's all right. It's gone.

Colonel, it's over.

Matt.

That's right, son.

It's over.

And somehow...

...we made it.

All right.

Yeah. Let's get out of here
and see what's going on.

So that's it? All the Espheni tech's
gonna stop working just like that?

The ghetto walls are down?
All those people are free?

The ones who haven't been
skitterized already.

Hope whatever gets unplugged
doesn't happen so fast.

Dad can't make it home.

Ben, we don't know
what we don't know, all right?

- Matt.
- Ben.

- You okay?
- Yeah.

- Are you?
- Yeah.

You picked a hell of a time for a reunion.

Yeah, well, there's some of you...

...I just can't seem to
keep my distance from.

Looks like they blew the hell
out of something.

Which means they'll be coming home soon.

There still may be skitters and mechs left to
kill. Let's not let our guard down just yet.

Anne Mason.

- Cochise.
- I have news about Tom and Lexi.

I reached my father.
The greater Volm have returned.

- The Volm are back.
- What about my dad?

I'm afraid their Beamer...

...was blown from its homing-beacon lock.

The explosion from the power core?

Correct.

The power core was destroyed.

However, there was a skirmish
with the Espheni.

Tom and Lexi's Beamer
was spared by my father's defense.

But by the time the battle had finished...

...their ship was nowhere to be found.
- I don't understand.

Are the Volm not out looking?
Don't they have the technology to...

They are looking for them, of course...

...but space is not a finite environment.
- It's like a needle in a haystack.

Or more accurately, a needle in the ocean.

You said the Beamer could make it back.

- You said...
- Whoa, whoa. Matt.

- Matt.
- Matt. Matt. Matt.

- You said...
- Hey. Hey, listen. Listen.

It's okay, buddy. We're gonna find him.

We're gonna find him.

If I know one thing for sure...

...Tom always finds his way home.

And until he does...

...we have to finish what he started.

We have to end this war.

Anthony, you made it back.

Yeah, I did.

A lot of others didn't.

I'm glad you made it.

- I'm glad you made it.
- Thank you. Thank you.

We got some work to do.

The power core's down.

And the Espheni
are sitting ducks for a change.

- Let's kick their ass.
- Let's go.

Gear it up.

- You are safe and sound.
- Who's there?

We come in peace.

We hold these truths to be self-evident.

The only thing
we have to fear is fear itself.

- Enemy of my enemy is my friend.
- Show yourself.

Tom Mason.

It's about time.

Oh, my God.

I had no idea.

You're...

You're beautiful.
