[explosions]

[alarm blaring]

Are you sure
you'll be all right by yourself?

Yes, everything depends
on stopping the RA bomb.

[machinery whirring]

[Mack] See you on Planet X-10.

[misprint] See you down there.

[Nina groans]

[groaning]

[panting]

For such a small girl,
you're a big pain in the ass.

- [Oscar panting]
- [footsteps running]

[grunts]

[groaning]

[explosions]

[Oscar shouting]

[misprint grunting]

[gasps]

[breathing heavily]

[misprint grunts]

[grunting]

I'll make sure we get what we wanted.

[groaning]

[misprint grunts]

[computer] Decompression in main corridor.

- Decompression in main corridor.
- Closing off main corridor.

Decompression in main corridor.

[Nina groaning]

[explosions in distance]

[grunts]

[beeping]

[alarm beeping]

Escape pods?

[sighs]

So they haven't given up.

Neither will we.

[computer] This ship is preparing to land.

All crew,
please take appropriate precautions

and brace for impact.

This ship is preparing to land.

[groaning]

- [explosion]
- [Mack groaning]

[Mack struggling]

[explosion]

[Nina groans]

- [ship thuds]
- [Nina gasps]

[engine straining]

[groans, gasps]

[gasps]

[groans]

[Nina breathing heavily]

No.

[both grunt]

Stop it.

We don't have time for that.

[Nina panting]

- [Patty B scoffs]
- [Nina grunts]

[Patty B] The Atmospheric Transformer.

[Nina] So, this is...

Planet X-10.

Welcome to humanity's haven.

Mack, come in. Where are you?

[wings fluttering]

[alarm beeping]

Good, the drones are working.

Cryosleep is completely destroyed.

None of us will be seeing
the migrant vessel arrive.

[Oscar] Can anyone hear me?

- [gasps]
- This is Oscar.

I'm in the Womb.

I can't get out.

I'm running out of air.

[Oscar breathing heavily]

[radar beeping]

[Patty B] The ship,
and the other escape pods.

We're losing oxygen.

We took a pretty big hit on landing.

[Patty B] There's air
in the Atmospheric Transformer.

Each escape pod only has one suit.

[Patty B] I see.

[Nina] You're willing to let people die
for your ideals.

Lewis and Mack will try
to disable the bomb.

I have to stop them.

Don't worry,
I'll probably die from the RA bomb

before I can even suffocate.

Reassuring. Thanks.

[Patty B] At least
you won't be in pain anymore.

We checked the interior

of the Atmospheric Transformer
multiple times

and still couldn't find the bomb.

- Where did you hide it?
- [Patty B chuckles]

We hid the golden egg
inside the giant's castle.

I'm going to open the door.

It's not a complete vacuum outside,

so if I close it quickly,
you should be fine.

I'd wish you luck.
But under the circumstances...

[groans]

- [alarm blaring]
- [Nina groans]

So, this is what Planet X-10 smells like.

[Oscar] This is bad. This is bad.

[Patty A] It's a miracle that the ship
didn't break up in the atmosphere.

Where's the other Patty?

I don't know. Nina took her.

The ship is immobile,
but the gravity generator still works.

We could try using that or...

Can you get this thing to move?

Engines are mostly shot.

Maybe if I reverse the gravity generators,
we could float a little, but...

That'll be enough. Take us towards
the Atmospheric Transformer.

You mean away, right?
We have to get out of blast range.

We're going
to the Atmospheric Transformer.

No way. Are you out of your mind?
That thing is going to explode.

[yells]

Huh?

Shut up. Do it.

Okay, of course. Just leave it to me.

[Nina whimpering]

[knocking on window]

[Mack] Nina!

Nina! Nina!

Thank you, Mack.

Where did this come from?

[Mack] I was already wearing a suit
when I boarded the escape pod.

I got knocked unconscious when I landed.

I saw your distress signal when I woke up.

[Nina] Where's Lewis?

[Mack] I'm hoping he's already
at the Atmospheric Transformer.

Here, get on.

[Mack straining]

You should go on ahead.

I'm just slowing you down.

[Mack] I can't do that. I won't leave
a wounded crew member behind.

It's against my code of honor.

Chivalry.

[Mack] Something like that.

That actually may be important.

No matter how far from Earth we are,

those kinds of codes keep us human.

[Mack] We're human,

until the very end.

[misprint grunts]

[stairs whirring]

[grunts]

[breathing heavily]

[panting]

[grunts]

[panting]

Patty...

[Patty A] Hurry it up.

This should do it.

Good, we're off the ground.

Heading to the Atmospheric Transformer.

[Oscar] So, you trust me, right?

[Patty A] A little.

I'll go check on the gravity generator.

[heavy breathing]

[panting]

I thought you were a humanitarian.

[Patty B] I've always stood up
for the underdog.

But I've wanted to apologize to you.

Your misprint was my fault.

What?

When I finished printing,

the first thing I did
was to collect biomaterial

from anyone other than myself.

I chose the very first tank...

yours.

[stairs whirring]

[Nina breathing heavily]

[whimpering]

[breathing heavily]

How's the pain?

Not good, but at least I can breathe.

Just give me a minute.

All right, I'll scout ahead.

[Patty B] To get to the RA bomb,

I needed
two crew members' bio-authentication.

I had to print someone else's eyes.

The amount of biomaterial I took
shouldn't have mattered.

Then the solar flare happened.

Normally, the outer film protects
the biomaterial tanks from radiation,

but, because of my actions,
your tank was exposed.

I think the radiation from the flare
damaged your genetic information,

causing mutations.

So, this is your fault.

I know you must hate me.

Before, I would've ripped your head off
like a monster.

But now, I can thank you.

There's a reason
that I was printed this way.

And what's that?

If I had been printed normally,
I wouldn't have noticed your plan.

Nothing would have been done.

Your plans would have stayed on track.

[Patty B] Your other self wouldn't
have been printed.

[groans, breathing heavily]

[misprint] That's right.

So, I'm fine this way.

Maybe Planet X-10's sun made me
this way to interfere with your plans.

I'm glad you found a reason
for your existence.

But now, it has to end.

[gasps]

[Mack groans]

Stop it, Patty.

[Oscar grunts]

[grunts, sighs]

Man, I don't want anything
to do with this.

- [explosion]
- [Patty A gasps]

[engine whirring]

Power levels falling.

Please, just get us there.

Tell me, where is the RA bomb?

[Patty B groans]

[chuckles]

Damn it.

It's no use. We're wasting our time.

[groaning]

[groans]

[sighs]

[panting]

[groans]

[groaning]

[grunts]

[groans]

[pants]

[console chimes]

[Nina] That's impossible.

[gasps]

[Patty A] Found you.

I knew you'd be
at the Atmospheric Transformer.

What are you doing here?

You shouldn't be here.
The explosion will kill us both.

You need help.

Unbelievable.

Let's move.

Sorry to keep you waiting.

[gasps]

[Patty A] The ship won't move anymore.

Where are Lewis and the others?

They're looking for the RA bomb.

[Patty A] We have to stop them.

We have to prevent them
from looking at the bean pod.

Let's hurry. We can't let our guard down
until our mission is accomplished.

[Nina] Bean pod...

Giant's castle...

Golden egg...

"Jack and the Beanstalk."

[misprint] Find anything?

No.

[Nina] Lewis! Mack!

[Mack] Nina, what are you doing here?

[Nina] I've figured out
where the RA bomb is hidden.

[misprint] Where?

[Nina] The bean pod. It has to be there.

I'll head this way.
Call out if you find it.

Right.

[gasps]

[Mack] The planet's organisms.

[Mack] Lewis, Nina, over here.

[Mack grunts]

[Nina groans]

[all groaning]

[grunting]

[misprint] That's definitely the RA bomb.

We can't disarm it.

We don't have time to move it.

[misprint] We can use the parachute.

[Mack panting]

If this works,
jump into the Beanstalk's injection tube.

[Mack] Right. It'll shield us
from most of the radiation.

[footsteps running]

[misprint] Something damaged the coupling,
so the parachute wasn't released.

- [Mack] Can we release it manually?
- [misprint] Yes.

There are two levers on the lateral side
that will disengage the connecting bolts.

[misprint, on radio]
We're running out of time.

[Mack] I know. Just a little longer.

[alarm beeping]

[Nina] Both of you, heads up.

[Mack] What?

[Nina, on radio] It's Patty.

You're wasting your time.
You can't defuse the bomb.

We don't have to.

[both grunt]

[Patty B grunts]

You leave us no choice.

[both grunting, groaning]

[both grunting, groaning]

Shit! [grunting]

[Patty B] No, you stay with me.

Lewis, watch out!

[grunting]

They're getting it out of blast range.

You catch on quick.

I won't let you.

[misprint grunts]

[both grunt, groan]

Lewis! Are you all right?

[misprint, on radio] I'm fine.

I'll head your way.

[misprint] Okay.

[Patty B groans]

I don't have time for you.

[grunts]

[Mack shouts, groans]

I don't have time for you either.

[Nina] Mack, are you all right?

Yes, I think so.

But I don't have much oxygen left.

Get inside, now!

[misprint grunts]

[Patty A groans]

Lewis, it's time for you to give up.

Why would you think that?

[all grunting, groaning]

You don't move like a scientist.

We were trained for every contingency.

[Nina, on radio] Stop all of this, Patty.

You're the ones who need to stop.

[grunting]

Sorry to keep you waiting, Lewis.

[Nina] Why, Mack?

Better late than never.

[Patty B grunting]

[wheezes]

A little trouble breathing?

[both grunt, groan]

[Patty A] Planetary development is
just humanity's arrogance.

We won't let it happen.

[Patty A grunts]

[Patty A shouts]

[groans]

- [misprint choking]
- [groans]

Lewis! [gasps]

[Patty B] Shouldn't you be more worried
about yourself?

[grunts]

[Nina, on radio] No, Patty, please stop!

[Mack groans]

[misprint choking]

[Patty A groaning]

This is the end.

For you.

[Patty A] What?

- [gasps]
- [metal banging]

- [gasps]
- [Patty A groans]

No!

[Patty A struggling]

[misprint] Mack, let's get out of here.

[Mack] Go. I'll be right there.

[misprint] Hurry!

[groans, choking]

[breathing heavily]

Everyone, take cover.

[Mack pants]

[chokes]

[choking]

[misprint shouts]

[engine whooshes]

[explosion]

[panting]

[Oscar groaning]

[alarm blaring]

[explosion]

[gasping]

[groaning]

[sobbing]

[Oscar] There was life,

even on this planet
in the middle of the universe, my loves.

[groaning]

[engine running]

[machinery whirring]

[Nina] Lewis and I were the only
surviving crew from the mission.

Lewis's cells began destabilizing.

He endured some difficult times.

We decided to complete the mission.

Putting up gravestones for our fallen crew
was the least we could do for them.

Farewells come suddenly.

[breathing heavily]

[sighs]

[wheezing]

[misprint] Hey, Kate.

I didn't know you were here.

Good.

We're going to live here
with everyone from now on.

So, yeah.

Yeah, I'll do that.

[wheezes]

[gasps]

[Nina] I'm now the only person
on this planet.

[Nina] I launched the Beanstalk
on a calm day with no wind.

Each Beanstalk will self-navigate

to an appropriate area

while keeping track
of relative distance to each other.

They'll land and take root.

[Nina groaning]

A network will be established

once the Beanstalk roots come into contact
with each other.

They'll then connect
to the Atmospheric Transformer for energy

and analyze the soil
as they grow straight into the air.

[grunts, breathing heavily]

[grunts]

[Nina] Maybe I was too confident
in my own strength.

I was tempted many, many times
to print the other crew.

The biomaterial tanks were damaged
and backup memories were wiped.

I gave up
on the idea of printing them again.

Thinking back on it,
I'm glad I never pursued it.

One day,
I discovered organisms on a soil sample.

It was the happiest moment
since arriving on this planet.

I focused what time I had left
on my research.

However, as the Beanstalk's transformation
of the planet progresses,

I see less and less of the life-forms.

As Patty said,

the organisms won't survive
in the new soil.

This canopy has covered
the entire continent.

The other continents
on this planet are untouched.

So the life forms may survive there,

but when humans colonize
and populate this planet,

the entire bio-composition will change,
without exception.

Perhaps those life forms are destined
to go extinct.

[panting]

The greenhouse gas generated
by the Atmospheric Transformer

has warmed the underside of the canopy.

So, water can now exist as a liquid.

The crater formed
from the Atmospheric Transformer landing

has become a lake.

I've released the algae
and plankton substrate into it.

At first, I welcomed the rain.

But since it's been raining every day,
it's become annoying.

- [thunder rumbles]
- [Nina gasps]

[thunder rumbling]

[thunder rumbling]

[breathing deeply]

[coughing]

[Nina] Rather than feeling happy
about breathing the fresh air,

I feel breathlessness.

I'm not sure if it's the planet's air
or my declining health.

The Atmospheric Transformer
has various animal nuclei stored in it.

I began cultivating and printing them.

I won't be here

when the migrant vessel arrives
at Planet X-10.

They'll examine this canopy
over the continent,

discuss whether or not to live here.

And if they do decide
to settle this planet...

- [birds chirping]
- ...our Planetary Redevelopment Mission

will finally be complete.

The crew members
who accomplish this mission

will receive special permission
to use the Womb for personal use.

[computer beeping]

[Nina] I've made preparations
for that moment.

Inside this necklace
is the biomaterial data and memory backup

of the woman Lewis loved.

My last duty is to fulfill his wishes.

And that will be my final job.

[computer chimes]

[machine pulsing]

[machine pulsing]

[birds chirping]

[groans]

[birds chirping]

[breathes deeply]

Lewis...

[gasps]

[gasps]

[gasps]

How?

Everything's been reborn here, Kate.

We have another chance.
